Lu Elementary School AU
Castletown Primary School
School colors are Green, Black, and Gold
Official name is "Castletown Primary Academy" but no one calls it that
The first and second school uniforms each semester are free, but any other uniforms after need to be bought by parents.
Kindergarten through 2nd grade, wear Forest Green Polos and Khaki shorts/pants/skirts. Shorts and skirts must be knee length. There is also an option for a forest green and black plaid dress, also knee length. Other than that, kids can accessorize as they please.
3rd and 4th grade wear white button-up shirts, and have the option between khaki shorts/pants or a forest green and black plaid skirt. Again, all skirts and pants are to the knees. They also have the option between a forest green blazer or sweaters. Ties are optional but must be black. Kids can accessorize as they please.
No uniform day is every Friday, and as long as nothing has profanity or crude images, all pants/skirts/shorts meet the length requirements, and no midriff is showing, all children are allowed to dress as they please. The rules are gender neutral and apply to all children.
Every Thursday is Book Buddy day, where the kids have a library day and read with their buddies. The buddies are from the neighboring high school who apply to the program for extra credit.
Tuesdays are half days
Every third Wednesday, if it's not a holiday, is some sort of field trip.
Clubs are available for the 2nd to 4th graders after school, and an after-school program is in place for kindergarten and 1st grade. They have drama club, art club, multiple sports, and a science club.
Free breakfast and lunch are provided for those that need it

Welcome to my little writing corner...
Hello peeps, tis I, Sm!
Fallen star but shining rock, a mountain of chaos of good or bad, but whatever character trope you may put upon me, I am just a mere traveler
Feel free to look around and make yourself at home!

A little bit about me:
You can call me Sm, she/her. Nicknames are fine! I love all things written, all things drawn, and all things animated. I love to collect things, whether they be rocks, plushies, or pens. I aspire to publish a book someday, and to become a screenwriter perhaps.

Progress: Writing 2nd draft ✍️
Norah is not one for introductions, but if you will know her name eventually, what's the point of hiding? The point is survival. Her village despises her, she's stuck looking after her drunken father, and she doesn't even know her mothers name. There is one light, her friend and mentor. This mentor talks of magical fortunes and smells always of fresh fruit, it was a dream. Until...one big fortune comes true, and Norah and the balance of the world is in danger. Thrown out of what she carved as her shell she treads the dangerous lands of the woods, searching for answers and solutions. If only a miniature nipping dragon, an amateur wizard, and her sworn enemy weren't following her. If only she could be alone, but for now, she keeps one foot in front of the other....Oh can those three be quiet-!

TWUECUD: Thespians With Unregulated Emotions Cause Unregulated Drama
A sitcom inspired comic about seven weirdos in college!
Mikal and Jee pull pranks, Alison is anti-social, Vishal has failing grades, Nicole has anger issues, and Gage was in the wrong place at the wrong time. What do they all have in common? They were forced to join the theater club to make friends, led by the overly fast paced president Tylee.
Meet the characters here!
Read all the comics here!
I take scenario requests from asks
Ask to be on the taglist (Don't have a post for it)
Updates (when I feel like it) Tuesdays and/or Fridays at 10:05 AM MST

I of course have tens of ideas lurking in notebooks, google docs, and my own brain, but am focusing mainly on HoF.
Feel free to ask anything about my projects, me, or just to say hi.

The 10 Most Anticipated TTRPGs For 2024!
EN World's annual vote on the most anticipated titles of the coming year, and yes, some games have appeared on this list in previous years.
10 Tales of the Valiant (Kobold Press)
1st appearance Kobold Press joins the 'alternate 5E' club with this rewritten, non-OGL version of the game! A million dollar Kickstarter last year, and a new one for the GM's book going on right now, Kobold Press announced this as 'Project Black Flag' during the OGL crisis of 2023, but being unable to trademark that name opted for Tales of the Valiant instead. The system, however, is still called the Black Flag Roleplaying System.
9. Mothership 1E (Tuesday Night Games)
3rd appearance On this list three years running, the boxed Mothership 1E game should be coming out this year! This is sci-fi horror at its best -- you can play scientists, teamsters, androids, and marines using the d100 'Panic Engine'. Yep, it's Alien(s), pretty much.
8. Monty Python's Cocurricular Mediaeval Reenactment Program (Exalted Funeral)
2nd Appearance Exalted Funeral made quite a splash when they announced this game last year, which went on to make neary $2M on Kickstarter. And how could they not? It's Monty Python fergoodnessake! A rules-lite gaming system, spam, a minigame with catapults, spam, coconut dice rollers, spam, and an irrepressible Python-eque sense of humour. Did I mention the spam? It was at #10 on this list last year, but it's claimed to #8 this year.
7. Daggerheart (Darrington Press)
1st appearance From the Critical Role folks, Daggerheart is a new fantasy TTRPG with its own original system coming out this year with "A fresh take on fantasy RPGs, designed for long-term campaign play and rich character progression."
6. Cohors Cthulhu (Modiphius)
1st appearance It's Ancient Rome. It's Cthulhu. It uses Modiphius' in-house 2d20 System. You can be a gladiator, a centurion, or a Germanic hero. Did I mention Cthulhu?
5. Dolmenwood (Necrotic Gnome)
1st appearance The British Isles, a ton of folklore, and a giant Kickstarter--Dolmenwood is a dark, whimsical fantasy TTRPG drawing from fairy tales and lets you "journey through tangled woods and mossy bowers, forage for magical mushrooms and herbs, discover rune-carved standing stones and hidden fairy roads, venture into fungal grottoes and forsaken ruins, battle oozing monstrosities, haggle with goblin merchants, and drink tea with fairies."
4. Pendragon 6E (Chaosium)
4th appearance Last year's winner was on this list waaaaay back in 425 AD, and it's still here! Well, maybe not that far back, but it's shown up in 2021 at #4, 2022 at #3, 2023 at #1, and now 2024 at #4! What can we say? People are clearly anticipating it... still.
3. 13th Age 2nd Edition (Pelgrane Press)
2nd appearance 13th Age is over a decade old now, and was our most anticipated game way back in 2013. Now the new edition is coming! It's compatible with the original, but revised and with a ton more... stuff! 13th Age 2E was #3 in last year's list!
2. The Electric State Roleplaying Game (Free League)
1st appearance Free League is always on these lists, and for good reason. This gorgeous looking game is described as "A road trip on the verge of reality in visual artist and author Simon Stålenhag's vision of an apocalyptic alternate 1990s".
1. Shadow of the Weird Wizard (Schwalb Entertainment)
3rd appearance First announced by Rob Schwalb a couple of years ago, this is a more family-friendly version of his acclaimed RPG, Shadow of the Demon Lord. SHADOW OF THE WEIRD WIZARD is a fantasy roleplaying game in which you and your friends assume the roles of characters who explore the borderlands and make them safe for the refugees escaping the doom that has befallen the old country. Unsafe are these lands: the Weird Wizard released monsters to roam the countryside, cruel faeries haunt the shadows, undead drag themselves free from their tombs, and old, ancient evils stir once more. If the displaced people would rebuild their lives, they need heroes to protect them. Finally at the top of the list after being #7 in 2022, and #6 in 2023!

Sunday Salon / Sunday Post – A Week in the Life of Dollycas – Weekly Rewind – New Arrivals
The Sunday Salon is a Facebook group that has become an informal week-in-review gathering place for bloggers. It is also a place to share our thoughts about things of a bookish nature. You can also link up weekly on Readerbuzz. The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE! Wednesday was Daughter #1's birthday. She had to work a long shift but did have a nice dinner with her fiancé. We are all busy planning for their wedding next month. Thursday, Miss Charlotte was named Student of the Month. She had a rough few days with the transition to a full day of school but is doing great now. Her teacher is proud of her and so are we. Friday and Saturday were full of grandsons playing sports. Due to not recovering as quickly as I had hoped from my fall last week, I wasn't able to attend. I tweaked my knee good and my face looks like I went a few rounds in a boxing ring. Our outside camera caught the action, and I hit the step hard with my face and the sound made me cringe. So Friday night Kaden had a game about 90 minutes away. Mr. Dollycas and Remi traveled to the game. I watch the game on television. It was nice to have a soft chair and a bathroom nearby, LOL, but when I saw Kaden after the game walking to his Papa to get the after-game hugs, it broke my heart that I wasn't there. They won 42 - 7. The refs made some questionable calls. Kaden was held by his jersey one time so badly, it was so clear, I saw it on the TV and those cameras are not that close to the action. He played great as did all the boys but one of their key players was injured. We will have to wait to see if he will be able to play next week. It will be one of their tougher games this season and I will be in the stands. Saturday morning Remington had a home game about 30 minutes from here. Again Mr. Dollycas went to the game and I stayed home. His games aren't televised :( but I got the highlights from Mr. Dollycas when he came home. They won 30 - 0. Remi played both offense and defense and hurried the quarterback on a throw that was then intercepted leading to another score. While he was gone I had a huge surprise when Kaden walked in the door to give me my hugs. He came up here to watch Thomas play in his end-of-year soccer tournament. They won their 1st game, lost their 2nd, and won their 3rd game after a shootout. Thomas scored several goals including 1 in the shootout. They took 3rd place in the tournament. Each player received a trophy and ice cream at Culver's. I am beyond proud of this little boy and his team. They improved so much throughout the season. Maybe having Mom and Dad coach this year was the key. Plus he was thrilled that Kaden was there to watch. How was your week? If you could create a holiday that almost everyone in the world would celebrate (not religous) what would it be and how would it go?
Good morning!
Now that's a way to start a day!
If I were to create a holiday, I'm thinking it would be about media appreciation. Like how pieces of media (books, movies, series, songs etc.) motivate people, give them hope and information and overall impact positively their lives, by them both consuming and creating.
As for how it would be celebrated:
I'm thinking it would either take place in the middle of summer or be a mobile holiday, taking place in the 2nd month of every season every year (like, one year it would be celebrating in January, the next in April, the next in July, the next in October and then all over again), and it would last a week. Now, 2 weeks prior to the holiday, people would be able to submit their favorite pieces of media in TV channels, cinemas, theaters and libraries (of course in each place the right piece should be submitted, like people can't submit their favorite book in the TV station) and during the holiday, every day of the week, this would happen:
The TV channels would split between them the shows people sent and separate them by genre. That way, every day of the week a different genre of shows would play in every channel (1 or two episodes from every series). So for example, on Monday there would only be detective series on TV, on Tuesday sitcoms/comedies, on Wednesday animated shows etc.
A similar case would be with cinemas, but with movies instead of series.
Libraries would host smaller events, like have a room where people can read their favorite books in peace, another where they can discuss them with others, either kind of organized like a book club, or completely on their own, and if it were possible have writer meet and greets
Now, aside from all that, people would also be able to host their own events and maybe have them be open to other fans of the media they like. I.e. a person could organize a role play or a discussion for something they enjoy in a park, or play some music with their band in a coffee shop.
I know I basically just described a big part of fandom culture coming to life, but in my opinion, fandom should be celebrated. That holiday would be the best parts of it coming to life.

Week 1: Burns, Clubs, and Animals
G’day everyone!
It's been a whole week in this beautiful city and time has never moved so sweetly slow. We finally moved into the Airbnb we’ve booked for the first month (we still don’t have a place after that). It was bittersweet leaving the 6 person dorm-style hostel room, the already cramped room wasn’t made better with our 5 months’ worth of luggage. The looks on our hostel roommates' faces when we blundered in on the first day said it all. Everyone we lived with in the room was at the very least kind and kept to themselves but were usually eager to meet us and share where they'd been.
The left photo is the inside of our dorm room and the right photo is the view from our Airbnb looking over the valley that empties into Coogee Beach.
The Australian sun has a special amount of power that I had drastically underestimated. During our UNSW abroad summer term orientation, one of the presenters flat-out declared "most if not all imported sunscreens are not going to cut it"…
But anyway, every day has been different! After our orientation on Tuesday, Jan 2nd, we explored the surrounding streets of Randwick. Committed to trying new foods, “Korean Street Food” caught our eye, and we ordered the potato tornado with chicken salt. It was one of the tastiest savory snacks I’ve tried.
Here’s Joe posing with it
The next day we went snorkeling in Clovelly Cove, a naturally protected hotspot of sting rays, schools of fish, and BLUEY, the friendly neighborhood Grouper known in the area for dwelling under a specific shelf of rock. We dove with recently purchased gear and my friend Jack let me use his underwater camera to take some videos, diving down to get near the beautiful variety of organisms. I haven’t gotten the videos back yet but hopefully, I can share some screenshots of good frames at some point in a future post.
That night Joe, our new roommates: Vivian, Sam, Michelle, and I played a quick round of classic 3 vs 2 ping pong before booking an Uber into the heart of Sydney for “Sheaf Wednesday”.
The next couple of nights were “Ivy Thursdays” and then a “Fun Friday” night of our own invention. We strolled around an artsy district of Sydney called Newtown, accidentally spending hours in this sprawling park. We also encountered… "wait is that a Baby Kangaroo”!?!
Sadly no, this was a Brushtail Opossum, still gave us a massive fright
Speaking of animals, this week has been filled with birds, bugs, and who knows what that has left us all floored. Here are some of the highlights:
“Bin Chickens” - because of how they use their beaks to rummage through the “bins”
Hordes of bats swooping over UNSW's campus around dusk
I hope you enjoyed the blog!
Take care everyone and until next week.

Netherlands, Feb 2023 - Day 1 of 4
While at work on Thursday 2nd of February, it dawned on me that once I was finished for the day, I wouldn’t have any work until Tuesday afternoon and I decided to head over to Amsterdam as I had never been and it sounded like a better idea than rotting on the sofa (my usual time off activity).
So I booked my coaches, hostel, and museum tickets and rushed home to pack.
Coach: Searched using Rome2Rio, taken through to Omio, which booked a Megabus outward and a BlaBlaCar Bus return. Total cost £66.67.
The coach was a mistake. Apparently I was not the only person who decided Thursday night was the best time to travel. The coach I was booked onto didn’t actually exist/arrive, so the driver of another coach was told to take us. So we all squished into a bus. I had a chatty seat neighbour who snored. Dull.
We took the ferry, rather than the tunnel, and had a brief stop in France and Belgium. Eventually making it to Amsterdam just after 11am local time Friday morning. We were only an hour late!
Hopped on a train from Amsterdam Sloterdijk to Amsterdam Centraal for €3.60 (£3.22)
Breakfast was the first order of the day, though by then it was slowly becoming a Lunch. I half wandered towards my hostel while perusing the options. I knew I desperately wanted pancakes, but so did everyone else as most pancake places were busy. Some even had queues out the door, which my stomach was not prepared for.
I managed to find Madame Pancake, busy but without a queue.
€18.20 (£16.30) for Bacon + Chorizo Pancakes and an Iced Oat Vanilla Latte.
The lack of queue did not mean lack of quality as it was delicious and just what I needed. Satisfied and happy, I headed to the hostel for a drink before checking in.
Hostel: Durty Nelly’s Inn. £143 for a bunk in a mixed 10 bed dorm for 3 nights. Official Website | Booking.com
Obviously, I had to have a pint of Kilkenny Cream.
I drink slowly so by the time the glass was empty, check in was open (1400). The receptionist was super friendly and helpful. (As were the bar staff)
Room was clean and (as a green lover) nicely decorated. I had the bottom bunk so I could drunkenly stumble into bed without risking death. I had a lockable (with padlock) wire tray underneath that wheeled out.
After a much needed nap, I went out for an explore in search of cocktails. Finding a good cocktail bar is always a priority when I travel solo. Lucky for me, I found one in no time.
Dutch Courage: prices ranged from €8 - €10.50 for the different cocktails.
I had to have the one called a Van Gogh, inspired by his sunflower series, as I was having a Van Gogh heavy weekend. The bartenders had great recommendations, and were really happy to chat and were asking me about my trip.
After a few (several…) I caught a train off to Leiden, a city about 25min from Amsterdam Noid, for €22.20 (£19.88) return, to meet a friend who works nearby.
We went to a strange bar in a disused warehouse building to meet some of his coworkers. After it closed, we sort of ambled around trying to find a club. The club scene is not poppin, as they say, in Leiden. I was back in the hostel by about 2am.
