Melanite and Ho'olheyak being part of branches with modules immediately gets their modules

ARC-Y module base effect increases Melanite's ATK to 105% and allows her to ignore Physical dodge when attacking enemies directly ahead

CCR-X module base effect allows Ho'olheyak to ignore 10 RES

Hexer Supporter and Flinger Sniper branches gets 1 module type each

W and Kal'tsit gets their second modules

ART-Y module base effect allows W to ignore 100 DEF

Showcased Muelsyse being a 6* Tactician Vanguard utilizing a special reinforcement unit that you can deploy on melee and ranged tiles, her reinforcement also comes with a unique skill that lets you deploy any operator on it to clone (most of) the op's base stats and applies unique properties depending on whether the operator copied was melee or ranged, her 2nd and 3rd skills play into this and have different skill effects depending on what mode the reinforcement is in

Showcased Ho'olheyak being a 6* Core Caster that reduces the weight of enemies in her range and utilizes Levitate, her 2nd skill is a rapid-fire arts burst with a chance to Levitate enemies and her 3rd skill makes her attack by sending tornadoes down her attack range and Levitating the first enemy it hits + dealing massive arts damage

Showcased Silence the Paradigmatic being a 6* Abjurer Supporter that gives a Sanctuary effect without any HP prerequisite and the effect becomes stronger the lower the ally's HP is + has a talent that automatically heals allies below a certain HP threshold, her 2nd skill allows use of a drone that can give a stronger Sanctuary effect and her 3rd skill allows the first ally that takes lethal damage in her range during skill duration to survive and their HP will not go below 1 for several seconds

Showcased the event mechanic, adjustable artificial gravity that can affect enemy movement speed and ally operators ASPD depending on the direction it's set to and gravity-affected spheres that can block enemy pathing and ram into enemies, the spheres can be pushed by operators dealing enough hits to it or by operators applying Push to it

Showcased the new gamemode Pinch-Out, Experimental Operation

A different take on the difficulty-select challenge gamemode, you can choose contracts of varying difficulty that are placed on a branching path with rewards scattered throughout the paths, certain rewards are only unlocked by clearing all connected contracts or paths required

After completing a run you can start the next run from certain "checkpoint" nodes instead of starting over from the original starting point

The gamemode has daily maps and missions for rewards

Laterano lore video narrated in Latin, showing the history of Laterano's founding and racial conflict, which then cuts to a room filled with unknown technology, a teaser for the next Laterano event

i am quite excited with all the new Arknights stuff but 1) i finished playing Chapter 13 but still have to go back and read it, so the story portion is a little jammed in me right now, 2) i will have to play and read Zwillingsturm as well, 3) whatever big big stuff went on with the Babel event, and 4) i really am getting tired of Arknights alts. at least the way they've been doing them. so i'm a little Arknights-ed out at the moment.

a new Amiya class is good, an alt for Fang is a-okay, but an alt for W feels really unnecessary. she's already good! she already has a large story presence! the anniversary video literally has her walking alongside Amiya and Ch'en, showing her possession of the Protagonist Nature! she doesn't need an alt to prove that! AND SHE'S ALREADY LIMITED!!! i mean, i guess it's kinda like what Granblue's been doing with new versions of their already SSR units, selling you back characters that you already own.

i'm mostly fine with alts and new versions of low-rarity operators (Lava, Hibiscus, Fang, Kroos, Jessica) or ones for operators that, frankly speaking, weren't the best or even particularly good when they first came out (Texas, Skadi, Swire), but ones of units that are/were good, like Specter, Eyja, Ch'en (debatably)? c'mon man. and actually it further sucks that the Ch'en and Swire ones are seasonal swimsuit ones. like, okay, a seasonal version more powerful than the original one, that's old hat in gacha games and i'm used to it (*cough cough* Yukata Vania *cough cough*) but i don't like, in Arknights, these seasonal versions being where the continuations of Ch'en and Swire's respective stories are being put.

Also i wish that Bloodline of Combat skin for Ch'en Alter was available for original Ch'en, it's quite good. or really just give OG Ch'en a new outfit that does away with the Cop-py-ness, it's been shown multiple times that she has progressed past solely Lungmen and is a Rhodes Island operator, give us an outfit to illustrate that. it really sucked that the paid outfit for season 2 of the anime was even more Cop-py than her base E2 art.

also hey wait a second, with the new outfits, is this Corrupting Heart's 2nd Bloodline of Combat outfit? like, it looks good, she looks good, but c'mon, distribute that to those who haven't gotten any yet.

this turned into mostly me complaining and then talking about Ch'en. i really like her, not in the "bluh bluh muh waifu" sort of way, she's just such an interesting character and gets so many cool moments in the latter half of Reunion Arc (doubledragons), she's more than just the sort of "One Chapter Protag Operators" that we get every now and then (Blaze+Greythroat in chapter 6, Horn+Bagpipe in early Victoria Arc, Stainless in 10 and 11, etc...), she's really really central for a large part of AK's story and has well written relationships with Amiya and Talulah, the 'full' protagonist and antagonists of Arc 1, she is on a similar level as them, so to speak.

Just felt like compiling some stuff i remember/thought worth mentioning from the two Arknights anniversary livestreams today

JP Livestream

A lot of merchandise and banter, like 3 hours of merchandise and banter

Max Risk CC Spectrum is apparently possible and 0.004% of players in the JP server did it

Dossoles Holiday confirmed to start on 14th/15th depending on timezone after the usual maintenance

Some decent operator skills display (compared to Under Tides JP livestream at least), Ch'en Alter 3-tapping some Ursus Imperial Guards with her skill 3 is fun to see and Mizuki's S3 showcase looked like a paradox sim stage

They made a new original song featuring Sora and sold it as a vinyl record, then proceeded to talk about the behind the scenes of it for like half an hour

Arknights anime key visual revealed, along with Takeshi Matsuyama as Ace's VA and a microscopic teaser of Dokutah's voice at the end

They didn't show the actual event PV not sure why

KR Livestream

Before the livestream started they had a timetable for the contents of the livestream itself

Started with a brand new collaboration song 'Crack in the Ark' MV performed by Korean rock band Guckkasten

Did a lot of giveaways and quizzes, one segment had a quiz show that ran for 20 minutes

Showed a lot of playerbase stats from the past 6 months, unsurprisingly KR players love R6S so much to the point that Tachanka is #9 most used Guard (and that's honestly pretty impressive considering his competition), Blitz is #6 most used Defender above Nian and Frost is #2 most used Specialist behind Phantom, also reportedly 88% of the KR playerbase pulled Ash from the collab

A segment where someone made a cool replica of Guard Amiya's sword and ended off with a neat Guard Amiya cosplay

They showed the actual Dossoles Holiday event PV and did a recap afterwards with more detail on the operators' skills and high tides event gimmick

Oh there's also Amiya and Mudrock vtuber models narrating the recap segment, both KR voiced, Mudrock stayed in her suit up until they started talking about the new line of Coral Coast skins with hers being the first and they switched the vtuber model to the summer skin

Confirmed that KR voicelines are in the works for KR version, unknown if it's strictly for that version or if all versions will get it, JP livestream didn't mention anything about getting CN voicelines either

Announced that Blaze, Broca, Greythroat, Reed and Ambriel are being added to recruitment

The whole thing ended around 1 and a half hours before JP livestream finally ended

EN livestream should be around 10 hours from now at the time of writing and honestly after sitting through the entirety of JP livestream i just hope it's short and shows playerbase stats, people keep saying it'll be awkward but i'm sure i'll live as long as they can keep audience retention
