Y'know... I was worried when the CN summer livestream announcement banner teased we were going to visit Sargon again, i was genuinely distraught while i was writing the stream summary, and now that the event has passed, i just feel fatigued
I barely even want to talk about the gameplay, the event mechanic was fine, the S stages are a bit heinous, let me just drop my two cents on the story
I shouldn't need to explain the very obvious problems with this event's theming combined with Hypergryph's world building decision of making an "exotic" tropical and desert region that cannibalizes the elements of various MENA countries and the south american rainforest region into one unholy amalgamation so i'll talk about what could've been at least a half decent story about [history being carelessly treated as an attraction to an uncaring crowd/the truth behind duty and tradition and if it's really a good thing to perpetuate/obtaining personhood despite other people's expectations] was just wasted as if the writers were just ad-libbing the story while being in different rooms and then passing it on like they're playing the world's worst game of telephone, constantly coming up with new things while never picking up the plot threads they left behind and when they finally got to the climax apparently the moral of the story they decided on is "the duty forced upon you even at the cost of yourself is good actually as long as you're having fun ✨" which is ???
Suffice to say i don't like the event, i didn't like the nepo baby and the story actually made me dislike her more, practically all the good parts of the story on her end were actually hard-carried by Zubayr so i'm especially annoyed they pulled that "oh it's actually inevitable so i must die because my duty compels me" bs to justify killing him off, Narantuya at least got a better deal by being a much more interesting character for one and being given a fun subplot with her lackeys and Aspasia, still wish she wasn't approaching #FFFFFF
Gave the story a shot despite my misgivings, entered with no expectations, and was somehow left disappointed anyways, left me wishing it was better (though honestly that applies to more than just this event's story cough cough)

just saw a really stupid post on tumblr where someone showed the prices of vegetables in china and how, when converted to US dollars, only costs a couple of cents, and the post was like, "ugh why must us americans suffer such high prices when the rest of the world doesn't !!!" and it's like. you are aware that you come from a country with an extremely strong currency, yes ? and that, just bc a loaf of bread costs R20 (or 1.06 USD) here in south africa, that doesn't make it affordable to the average working class south african, just bc it seems cheap to you, yes ? u are aware that many ppl around the world make wayyyyy less than even the minimum wage american, yes ? that, even though you may be struggling financially in ur country, ur dollar still has significant power over the majority of the currencies around the world. yes ?

After the war ended, I returned to northern Gaza to check on my home. I walked with heavy steps, my heart filled with worry. When I arrived, I found my house completely destroyed, with no water, no electricity, and no sign of life. I sat among the rubble, carrying my disappointment and worries, asking myself, "Will life ever return to what it once was?"
Your donations make a difference, giving hope to those who have lost everything and bringing life to those whose circumstances have shattered their world.
Please donate together we will achieve the goal

I know the genocide is over, but the fact that my life in Gaza feels like a previous life hurts so much. It hurts me because I know I'll never have that life back. Never again. All those details are gone forever. I miss being a child at my home. I'm heartbroken. It's just so sad
Please continue to help my family here, your donations make us happy and give us hope again. Thank you all

No one wants to leave the country they grew up in, but news like this shows how difficult it is to live in Gaza with homes, schools and hospitals destroyed.
So I hope you can help me evacuate my family from Gaza so that my father can get treatment abroad. I beg everyone who sees this to either donate or participate so that we can get out of this nightmare.

hey in case you didn't know trans inclusive terminology in healthcare is not about protecting peoples feelings, it's to stop insurance companies from going "well it says here that hysterectomies are a procedure performed on WOMEN and you keep insisting that you're a MAN so we do not in fact have to cover that have a nice day and eat shit"

“Nonbinary people don’t owe you gender neutrality” means “nonbinary people can have full beards and look 110% masc and not tuck and still be nonbinary” just as much as it means “nonbinary people can have long hair and wear makeup and have boobs and still be nonbinary”
Nonbinary does not mean “feminine lite” it means “nonbinary”

Hey gang, Wes Johnson is in intensive care.
If you're not familiar with his work, he's done tons of voice roles for multiple Bethesda games. You probably know him for his most famous role, Sheogorath.
Today's posts will be art/concepts of some of my favorite Wes Johnson characters in TES
Each post today will have a link to the post from UESP below. It's his GOFUNDME for his medical care.
If you cannot donate, please reblog and share his fundraising campaign.
Hope you get better Wes ❤️

Skip Google for Research
As Google has worked to overtake the internet, its search algorithm has not just gotten worse. It has been designed to prioritize advertisers and popular pages often times excluding pages and content that better matches your search terms
As a writer in need of information for my stories, I find this unacceptable. As a proponent of availability of information so the populace can actually educate itself, it is unforgivable.
Below is a concise list of useful research sites compiled by Edward Clark over on Facebook. I was familiar with some, but not all of these.
⁂
Google is so powerful that it “hides” other search systems from us. We just don’t know the existence of most of them. Meanwhile, there are still a huge number of excellent searchers in the world who specialize in books, science, other smart information. Keep a list of sites you never heard of.
www.refseek.com - Academic Resource Search. More than a billion sources: encyclopedia, monographies, magazines.
www.worldcat.org - a search for the contents of 20 thousand worldwide libraries. Find out where lies the nearest rare book you need.
https://link.springer.com - access to more than 10 million scientific documents: books, articles, research protocols.
www.bioline.org.br is a library of scientific bioscience journals published in developing countries.
http://repec.org - volunteers from 102 countries have collected almost 4 million publications on economics and related science.
www.science.gov is an American state search engine on 2200+ scientific sites. More than 200 million articles are indexed.
www.pdfdrive.com is the largest website for free download of books in PDF format. Claiming over 225 million names.
www.base-search.net is one of the most powerful researches on academic studies texts. More than 100 million scientific documents, 70% of them are free

spam emails are horrifying on an entirely different level once you actually begin to grapple with the material reality of ‘cyberspace’. how many servers were involved in dumping this message into my trash folder, where are they located, how much water goes into cooling them every day? where did the metals come from to build these facilities, who maintains them, how much labour and suffering and exploitation is required to bombard me with 50 messages a day i don’t even look at for products i will never buy? not just useless or a nuisance, but actively harming the earth & its people, and for what. zero social value, zero human communication, just capital trying to metastasise

My name is Shadi from Gaza. I lost my family during the genocidal war on Gaza. I lost my family members in this bloody war. I lost my father and my seven brothers. My mother and my brother were left with the wounded who need urgent and quick support in order to save their lives. I ask for your help in order to preserve what is left of my family.
