Phase One 2D Having A Crush On Reader

- it’s a strange thing. When you are in love with someone and then another appears and you feel the love for them more than you should. That’s how 2D said it was with you.

- He would do little things that no one else really noticed. Would let you have the last of the peppermint tea, offer you biscuits, help you with anything you needed.

- No one noticed this. Except Paula. You and her did not get along due to her blatant disregard for 2D’s wellbeing and the disrespectful way that she would fawn over Murdoc while 2D was in the same room.

- You and her would often bicker but it ceased when you noticed that it made 2D upset and the other band members uncomfortable.

- When it inevitably happened, you were the first to rush to 2D to try to make him feel better. He was inconsolable for a few hours and was about to choke Murdoc the fuck out but you didn’t let him leave the room til he was calm. Russel was already… taking care of your lights work.

- When Paula left, she saw that her car had been spray painted with a derogatory term for disreputable person. You did feel bad…. That you also hadn’t slashed the tires.

- Murdoc could only await your acts of wrath. You locked him in his Winnebago until he apologized. (He made it about two weeks. But he ran out of fresh water.) and then you gave him the cold shoulder until he apologized to 2D directly.

- 2D did forgive him, which surprised you. But it was easier than it would’ve been because he had you.

- 2D was in love with you.

summary: gorillaz as a band like to race their fancy cars every now and then, but when someone else shows up, they're all blown out of the water, especially 2D.

ONLY THING THAT STAYS CANON IS THE FACT THEY'RE A BAND.

Engines at the ready, 2D gripped the steering wheel of his bronze Ford Mustang. He looked to his right, where Murdoc was grinning at him menacingly in his Chevrolet Camaro, a few bullet holes in the side and painted with one large white star on the side. 2D lowered his head and looked at him with a deep death stare, he was going down. Murdoc revved his engine, before looking back towards the flag girl, who he had definitely had a thing with. 

2D looked to his left then, Noodle in her white Mazda Miata and Russel in his orange Jaguar Spectre. He could see they were both focused, ready to be out for blood. 

‘Three…’ 2D shifted in his seat, focusing his eyes on the road.

‘Two…’ The angry growl of his 1967 Mustang taunting his teammates, adrenaline pumping through his veins.

‘One!’ Just before the last number was called, 2D caught sight of a purple blob heading his way at lightning speed, yet he quickly forgot about it when his bandmates sped off. 2D managed to catch up, only two seconds behind in the first place. He kept his foot to the floor, not allowing himself to be distracted. He overtook Murdoc, then Russel, and now Noodle was his biggest competition. Racing side by side, Noodle giggled to herself, looking over at 2D and blowing him a kiss. 

What she didn’t know was that 2D was playing her the whole time, only slowing to let her have her small bit of fun. You know, like all siblings do.

2D fake caught the blown kiss, throwing it behind him as he sped up, flying past Noodle. Merging back into the left lane, he checked his center mirror, seeing the purple blob from earlier formatted into a car. A Toyota GT86. 

‘Nasty.’ 2D thought, the tinted windows hiding the look of who was driving it. They seemed to be teasing him, driving so far up their back end it would be fatal if 2D were to slam on the breaks. Eventually, the car came round the side, blocking off Murdoc’s boosted black beast, stopping him from getting past 2D. As the purple car approached, the passenger window was rolled down, 2D stared in awe as you kept an equal speed, one hand on the wheel and one on the gears. Hair blowing in the wind and lip bitten back.

You turned to look at him, smiling sweetly before speeding right up before a bend. You tucked in before 2D, slowing down in front of him, Murdoc had used his boost far too much and so now it was on a cool down, now you had nothing to worry about, neither did 2D. Except for each other. 

You knew who he was, of course, knew they were having this race, you’d been a long time fan, but to Stuart, you were something of another world, a destruction of desire. You were the thing he didn't know he needed. He sped up again, merging to the right lane just in front of an attempting to overtake Russel, he wanted another look at you. You knew you had to keep the lead, keep in front, and so you followed 2D’s pattern, everytime he moved lanes, you did too. No chance you were letting him get the time of day. In a flash of a moment, you reached the finish line, skidding across the track and you spun your car to face the others, Stuart not too far behind, followed by Russel, Murdoc and then Noodle. Your lap didn’t count though, this was the bands race. Not that that would ever stop you. You got out and leant on your car door, 2D immediately walking over to you.

“Who are you..?”

This scene in the newest chapter didn't leave my brain so I made a quick 2d animation over the weekend to get that out of my system.

I imagine Skinner looks like the "No-face" from the Ghibli movie "Spirited Away" in their corrupted form. And instead of the mask Skinner has a skull-like face as a head.

I made some small alteration than described for the animation to emphasize Skinners long neck.

Redid the very first sketch reference of my pi Chris because I’ve changed a ton

His paws are way less reptilian and more mammal like. His tail is no longer reptilian either and is now curled and doggish. His wings are now smaller and furred/feathered. He no longer has a mask and his power suit core is on his animal chest not his human chest. More facial hair/fur and new ear shapes. And some other minor changes like his eyes and nose.

Might make a colored ref in the future

So far, I have written the longest chapter of The Wishing Kingdom so far and now I have some plans to sketch out Asha and Antares’ first meeting, I know I have a few ideas under my belt: such as Antares hiding from Asha mistaking her for being a stranger, or possibly, there could be a Mei Mei moment for the star when he says “AWOOGA” to scare Asha while searching below a rusty well.

But this sketch I did was another thought I had, Antares is seen presenting himself in generic Disney-prince fashion while Asha is slowly acknowledging his existence, just after her “I Want” song.

Here’s some more character stuff, just an idea of what Ink and Error looked like through the ages. Also note, the age that’s displayed above there head isn’t there actual age more like there physical age, kinda like how a dog is 7 years old but actually like 37 or something (they age slower as they get older but start to age faster when they reach a certain age). Ink’s designs were inspired by The Secret of Kells, Athena, Esmeralda from the Hunchback of Notredame, and the original Ink design (old and new). Error’s designs were inspired by Skull kid (Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask), a pirate, and the original Error design (of course) as well as Peter Parker from Spiderman into the Spiderverse.

I think in most of the fandom people would picture Ink as the ‘wild child’ and Error the ‘city boy’, but in my mind I’d think it would make more sense for Ink to be the more ‘civilized’ character especially considering the factor that Ink loves stories and thrives in creation (. Error on the other hand I see being the more ‘feral’ character matching his dislike of being around to many people and the loud noises they bring resulting him living in places people don’t topically live in (deep caves, jungles, and deserts)

Noodle-

She is a sort of care taker herself so when she met you, she felt understood. 

You two spend so much time together that falling in love was bound to happen.

Murdoc-

Was avoidant about your disposition at the start but he warmed up to you after a many quiet car rides from when you came to pick his drunk self up.

He makes your coffee because he is not a morning person but by the time he gets done clanging around the Winnebagos kitchenette, you’re up.

You and him take the romance movie cliche tub bath while drinking wine. (He was down to bump uglies but he got distracted making bubble beards with you. His was the best, he doesn’t care what you say)

Will immediately think he’s fucked up if you use his actual name

You and him have the same vibe as that retiree couple on vacay 

Despite your differences, you and him are the best match for each other.
