It doesn’t have to be with boughs of holly – the leftover wiring from last-week Inator would do just fine. (And it’s more versatile…) ‘Tis the season to take over the Tri-State Area! Unless, of course, You’d rather prefer Your significant nemesis to thwart You.

That said, the popular Secret Santa exchange is on the program now!

Opening as of today, you can sing up here. Sign-ups will close on the 14th of November, so don’t hesitate to join the fun! Assignments will be handed out by the 16th of November, with the grand reveal taking place on the 24th of December. For anyone who needs a little longer, the final deadline for submitting your gifts will be the 2nd of January 2023.

Traditionally, this event is hosted on AO3 in its entirety, so you need an account to participate. (If you don’t yet have one and still want to join, please contact us at the affiliated Discord server, and we will see what can be done.)

AO3 does accept fanart as well as fanfiction, for all artists out here, although you will need to host it elsewhere. Instructions for how to do that can be found here.

All incarnations of Perryshmirtz welcomed, be it canon or human AU, platonic or romantic relationship, or anything and everything in between.

As for the details… When signing up, please make a note of the following, both for what you can make and for what you will receive:

Preferred medium, whether fic or art or something else entirely.

Preferred form of relationship, whether it’s platonic or romantic or something else entirely.

Preferred species for Perry.

Any other notable preferences, such as desire to avoid heavy angst, possible triggers, and so on.

These need not be the same between your request and your gift, and we will do our best to match people accordingly.

Our minimum requirement for submissions are a 500 word fic, clean lineart, or the equivalent in other mediums. We also ask that everything be SFW, due to the wide age range of participants.

Honestly, Perryshmirtz is so important to me Like I still remember the EXACT moment I started shipping them

It’s 2016 and I had just finished binge-watching Phineas and Ferb (I’d just gotten Netflix and it was one of the first things I decided to watch. It was my favorite show as a kid and I wanted to see if it held up. It did.) And I’d gotten super attached to Phineas and Ferb again, just like I had when I was younger, and was really sad that it was over. And I’d fixated very heavily on Doofenshmirtz this time around because I related to him a lot. So when I would later look for PnF content, I would end up in tags relating to him more often than not.

So I’m in my kitchen, home alone. I remember the chair I was in, how I was sitting, how the weather was (it was around 11 am and it was pretty sunny, but not hot outside). I’m scrolling through the PnF tags on my phone, and end up finding “Doofenperry”. I was shocked. Appalled. People ship this? Like in a non-joking way?? Literally how disgusting is that. I have to go see what they’re doing right now this very second. And so I go through the Doofenperry tag. And I start reading the fics (if you EVER asked me to find one of the original ones I read on this site, I’d have to let you know that they’re likely buried, and will never see the light again (though I do think, with some searching, I could go find this one blog that’s definitely inactive now. And I do remember one fic that was like? Perry was turned human and ending up cross-dressing for some party?? It was wild) ). I ended up slowly but surely getting pulled in, and just like that, I’d been there for upwards of three hours scrolling through the tag, reading the fics, and making my way to various fanfiction/art sites. I was in deep at this point.  I made a new blog, because my friends followed my old one, and I didn’t want them knowing I shipped Perryshmirtz (the name of which I’d later found and realized I liked better). I started writing fanfiction solely because of this ship.  Like honestly this is so weirdly specific but the act of liking and engaging with this ship spiraled into a lot of what I’m interested in today. And there was really no reason for me to make this post, but I’d just realized how long I’ve been shipping this for. And how much the fandom behind the ship has grown since then (there were. NO fics on ao3 lmao yall don’t underSTAND). And I just thought about how specific the memory is for me, and how strange the fics I found on here were.

As an avid Phineas and Ferb fan (who was scrolling through the tag when I came across your post), I can say that a huge part of the fandom believes Doofenshmirtz is bisexual (also Perryshmirtz is a totally real ship :o)

I started to think that too, I’m just not in the fandom to see that. XD I’ve also seen some Perryshmirtz art around (with mostly Perry being a human). I would of been a lot more ok with the ship…if it wasn’t for the fact that Perry is literally an animal. That’s basically bestiality and I’m kind of uncomfortable with that. And before anyone says “WELL YOU SHIP APRITELLO”, Apritello is NOT bestiality. April is half mutant/alien and Donatello is a mutant and mutants are at the very least half Human. Bestiality is when a human and an animal are together or have sexual relations.

Um, well, like what I was saying before (sorry about that), I really do like Perryshmirtz and I want to ship it, but it just feels weird to me a bit because Perry is a animal. I like AUs better where Perry is at least human. Also, it would have been nice if maybe around the end of the series, it’s at least strongly hinted that Doof is bi or have him say along the lines to Perry that he’s still trying to find his soulmate (female or male). It would of been also pretty cool or interesting to of have an episode of Perry turning into an actual human being and spending the day with Doof (sort of like this picture).

Knowing parents or homophobes though they would probably say something stupid like “GAYS ARE THE DEVILS WORK” or “This is SOOOO inappropriate for a kids show” or some shit like that. Oh well, there’s always fanfiction am I right?
