Hi hello hi, what sort of playstyle are u thinking this game will have? Like, visual novel, first person wandering around, top down pixel game, etc? The concept art and stuff I’ve read so far looks fascinating!!!
Okay okay I know exactly what I want to say here but it might come out as word spaghetti so PLEASE work with me here
Teacher's Pet is a first person game and is a mix of 2D and 3D! The hub area where Eugene and the kids you've rescued so far stay at, along with the exploreable areas that get uncovered after you rescue the kids where you can search for and collect missing items for the characters, are in 2D! The exploreable areas are point and click with moveable parts and several scenes you can move through to find everything and the hub area, the characters are 2D models with talking sprites and looping animations, both by themselves and interacting with one another. Levels are in 3D, however, and so are the characters! Each level is a different part of the "school" that you have to go through to eventually reach the student at the end of it.
All in all, it's a first person adventure game that splits itself between being a point-and-click search and find and being a seven part chase down adventure where you are risking your life with every step you take, with a little bit of We Are Friends Now! We're Having Soft Tacos Later thrown in

One thing about me is that I have extremely realistic dreams to the point where, if I remember a dream (which is pretty rare) I can’t tell if it actually happened or not and sometimes my dreams happen as like a series so I’ll have a dream and then a few months later there will be a follow up episode like it’s a fucking tv show so long story short a couple years ago I spent a solid 6 months believing that I was kidnapped as a child and only escaped when the house I was being held in burned down but I never told anyone because I didn’t think it was their problem

6 Tips For Choosing The Perfect Voice Over for Your Animation
Tumblr media
The majority of Squideo’s videos feature a voice over. This narrative guides the viewer through the video’s story. A voice over can add extra information to that shown visually, clarify complicated points and boost viewer engagement.
There are a lot of benefits to adding a voice over to your video, but how do you choose the perfect one for you? Read on for our six top tips to help you make the right decision.
Too big a responsibility? Squideo offers a range of voice over options. Get in touch with the team and we’ll help you find the right one for your project.
Squideo's Top 6 Tips
01. Agency vs. Freelance
Voice over artists typically work for an agency or work freelance. Freelancers can be sourced on websites like Fiverr and Freelancer.
Regardless of where you find a voice over artist, the first step is to ensure they are offering quality services. Their website or profile should have multiple example recordings available for you to listen to. These will demonstrate the range of tones and accents they offer.
Listen carefully to ensure they are using good quality recording equipment. If the quality is poor, it will also drag down the quality of the video it’s attached to.
02. Follow the Budget
The next consideration is your budget. Some voice over artists can charge a lot for their services, especially if they’ve been working for a long time and have put their voice to notable work. With this price comes a lot of experience, however, and professionalism.
To find the right artist for your budget, collect estimates from several sources before making your decision.
03. Pick a Tone
At Squideo, one of the first questions we ask a new client is “what tone do you want?” What this means is, do you want a video that’s corporate and formal? Something neutral and easily accessible? Maybe the tone should be energetic and friendly?
Getting an answer to this question doesn’t just inform the script and visuals, it also gives us an idea of the type of voice over you’re looking for.
To decide on the right tone for your business, ask yourself two questions:
What tone reflects your brand?
What tone will your target audience respond to?
Once you have the answers to these questions, the correct tone for your video will become obvious.
youtube
04. Do You Want a Dialect?
We’re narrowing down the search to find the perfect voice over for your animation, but there’s three more things to consider. Next up is the choice between a generic accent or a specific regional dialect.
If you’re targeting a large audience, a generic accent is usually the best call. For a UK video, this would be received pronunciation (RP) – also known as Queen’s English, BBC English or Oxford English. It is clear and commonly heard, making it likely that the majority of people will be able to understand the voice over without any issues.
Or perhaps you want something more distinctive? If you’re a local or regional company which delivers services to a niche market, you may want a voice over that reflects the accent of your customers.
youtube
05. Pick a Gender
The penultimate question is a little trickier. Gender.
For some videos, the gender of the voice over artist is interchangeable while in others the audience may respond better to one or the other. This will vary depending on your audience, so do your target research here.
A study by CXL in 2016 found that female voice overs were considered more “trustworthy” than male voice overs. In 2003 the Journal of Advertising also found that male targeted or gender-neutral products could use either a male or female voice over without any impact on the audience’s reaction. When it came to female targeted products, however, gender mattered much more and audiences preferred a female voice over.
There’s also the option to use both. If your video features dialogue between multiple characters, using female and male artists can help the audience differentiate who is speaking. Of course, this can drive up the costs!
06. Let the Company Speak
The final question is whether you want to hire a professional voice over artist at all. For B2Bs, using the voice of someone from your company can add a personal touch that customers will better connect to. However, this is not the easiest undertaking and can be costlier than hiring a professional.
Professional voice over artists supply their own recording equipment and are familiar with audio editing. Take into consideration that these are responsibilities you will have to take over. It’s important to use high quality recording equipment to ensure the recording is usable in the video. Anything of too low a quality might be rejected on hosting sites.

Motion Graphics: Explore The Power of Storytelling in 2D Animation
What is 2D animation ?
Let's have a look into this , "what comes to your mind whenever you think of storytelling in 2D art form"
Well, 2D animation is a creation of moving pictures in a 2 dimensional environment. It is a flat style that brings characters and worlds to life on the screen. It's been around for ages, and it's still going strong!
Tumblr media
Let's go slightly further, 2D animation is all about creating the illusion of movement by rapidly displaying a sequence of hand-drawn or digitally created images. Better you can correlate this example - It's just like flipping through the pages of a flip book, but on a screen.
Role of 2D Animation Storyboards
You know, how do they say a picture is worth a thousand words? Well, in the world of 2D animation, a storyboard is worth a trillion frames! It's the blueprint that lays out the entire visual narrative before any actual animation happens.
Animation begins with planning. It starts with a 2D animation storyboard. It's just  like a map for the story or it also shows the order of the story's events. It helps us see how the story will go. Now, think of a storyboard as a guide. It tells animators when to move, which camera angles to use, and where to put the characters.
But storyboards aren't just functional; they're also a canvas for creativity. Skilled storyboard artists can convey emotions, set the tone, and even add little that make each frame vibrant. It's like a comic book come to life!
Benefits of Animated explainer video for the Brand
There are so many benefits but the main are -
Grab Attention: Let's be real, we all have short attention spans these days. A slick animated video is way more likely to hold someone's focus compared to a wall of text or boring static images. The animations, characters, and storytelling make it entertaining to watch.
Simplify Complex Ideas: Some products or concepts are just plain hard to explain. Animated videos make it easy to break things down step-by-step using simple visuals and examples. It's like having an animated teacher!
Memorable: Live-action videos can feel corporate and forgettable. But what about an animated story with fun characters and scenarios? That's going to stick in people's minds long after they watch it. It's a branding win.
Versatile: Need to explain your app, software, or subscription service? A 2D animated explainer video will easily cover all these things in a few couple of minute length. Same goes for showcasing your company's mission, processes, or backstory. Animation is a flexible medium.
So in a world of short attention spans, animated videos are a surefire way to capture interest, explain your brilliant ideas, and leave a lasting impression on potential customers. Consider adding them to your marketing mix!

3D Animation in Film vs. Video Games: Key Differences
3D animation has changed the film and video game industries, creating amazing visuals that wow the world. While the basics of 3D animation are the same, the purpose, workflow and outcome are very different. Let’s examine the main differences between 3D animation in films and video games.
Tumblr media
Purpose and Storytelling
In films, 3D animation is used to tell a linear story. The story unfolds in a set sequence, guiding the audience through a beginning, middle and end. This linear approach allows the filmmaker to focus on the details and pacing to get the audience to feel a certain emotion at a specific time. Every frame is crafted to service the story, with no need for real-time interaction or variation.
Video games on the other hand require 3D animation to support an interactive experience. Players somewhat control the narrative, influencing the story based on their actions and choices. This interactivity requires a different approach to animation where characters and environments must respond to the player’s input. Animators in the gaming industry create a range of animations for different scenarios so the movements are fluid and believable no matter what the player chooses.
Workflow and Production
The workflow in film animation is generally linear and segmented. Once the storyboard is locked, animators create the scenes in sequence. This process involves modelling, texturing, rigging, animating and rendering. Each step builds on the previous one and changes can be time-consuming and costly, often requiring a lot of rework.
In contrast, video game animation follows an iterative and circular process. Since games are interactive, animators and developers need to revisit and revise animations based on playtesting feedback. This circular process allows for continuous iteration and adaptation but also means animators need to work closely with game designers, programmers and other team members throughout the development cycle. Real-time rendering is key here as it allows for instant feedback and adjustments.
Technical Constraints and Optimization
Films can have loads of detail and realism because they can render frames over long periods. This means they can have complex lighting, textures and visual effects that can take hours or even days to cook. Filmmakers can push the limits of visual fidelity without having to worry about real-time performance.
Video games however have to balance visual quality with performance. Games are rendered in real time which puts a huge constraint on the level of detail that can be achieved. Animators and developers have to optimize models, textures and animations to make sure they run smoothly on various hardware configurations. Techniques like level of detail (LOD) scaling, texture compression and efficient rigging are key to a seamless and responsive gaming experience.
Character Animation and AI
Character animation in films is lovingly crafted, animators focus on expressive and realistic movements that convey the character’s emotions and personality. This often involves motion capture where actors’ performances are digitized and refined by animators to service the story.
In video games character animation not only has to be realistic but also responsive to player input and environmental interactions. This means a combination of pre-defined animations and procedural generation often supported by artificial intelligence (AI). Game characters have to adapt to a wide range of actions from combat to conversation, seamlessly transitioning between animations based on the player’s choices and actions. This adds another layer of complexity to the animator’s job as they have to make characters behave convincingly in an unpredictable player-driven environment.
Conclusion
While 3D animation in films and video games share the same foundation of skills and techniques, the end goals and execution are very different. Films are about controlled, linear storytelling with visual fidelity and emotional impact. Video games are about interactivity, real-time responsiveness, optimisation and adaptability. Understanding these differences shows the unique challenges and opportunities each medium presents to animators and storytellers.
The convergence of these two industries will continue to evolve as technology blurs the lines between cinematic and interactive experiences. As these industries grow, animators will use their knowledge of both to create more and more immersive content for the world.
