ngl i feel like gege fell to the the new sukuna lovers-only want fight scenes-no viable storyline- because it genuinely doesn’t make any sense, writing such strong characters like maki, yuki, inumaki… or super complex characters like gojo just to make them like useless or get rid of them. yuki was one the strongest and got offed after a chapter, shoko has healing powers that healed literally no one, gojo has this entire character arc, wins and gets killed after literally kicking sukunas ass, the whole megumi has potential to make him just accepting of his fate???
it’s falling off and becoming a annoying sigma bro manga to me rn
and it’s pissing me off that ppl say it’s coping or glazing like it’s not crazy to expect the writer to follow through w their own stories

Looped sun 7
Loop #255
Pearl: What do you mean you spent the last 2 loops redstoning mate?
Mumbo: Grian was better at redstone then me! I couldn't possibly let that stand!
Pearl: Uh huh.
Mumbo: But finally balance is restored.
Pearl: But wasn't it a bit boring? To just do that?
Mumbo: Well I didn't just do that. I built some stuff, got better at it.
Pearl: But?
Mumbo: I guess I was a bit of a spoon. Overdone it... But I don't mind it, I like experimenting with creating machines using redstone! It's fun for me.
Pearl: Hmm... What if you tried to learn other types of redstone?
Mumbo: Other types?
Pearl: You know you have very distinct type of redstone.
Mumbo: Do I?
Pearl: Yeah, maybe you could try to learn other ways of doing redstone. Even of you keep your own style maybe it could be a fun experiment.
Loop #256
Mumbo: Ehm... Zed? Are you home?
Zed: Hello there Mumbo! Came to see my cave of contraptions? It's a bit empty right now but -
Mumbo: Actually I wanted to ask if I could join in?
Zed: Wait, really?
Mumbo: Yeah? It sounded like a fun...way to do some redstone.
Zed: Hmmm I never tought about this happening...hmm, alright!
The dual Mumbo-Zed cave of contraptions ended up being the most interesting base of the season.
Loop #258
Pearl: How do you plan to learn redstone from Tango?
Mumbo: Well... I'll join in decked out!
Pearl: You can't just ...ask him to join in.
Mumbo: No no! I have a plan! I took last loop to learn to play the boardgame version...!
Pearl: ..why?
Mumbo: I'll show you!
Mumbo: Hey Tango, what are you doing here?
Tango: Oh just planning for a new minigame idea.
Mumbo: Oh...same!
Tango: Oh? Do you want to share.
Mumbo: Ehm... do you know the boardgame decked out?
Tango: ... Yeah, I didn't think you would Mumbo!
Mumbo: Was thinking of creating a version of it using redstone.
Tango: No way, that was what I was thinking!
Mumbo: N-no way! We should totally do it together!
Tango: That sounds like a great idea.
Tango: Me and Mumbo are proud to finally show you, Decked Out!
Pearl: ... Mumbo?
Mumbo: Y-yeah?
Pearl: You are...scary good at manipulation.
Mumbo: I am?
Pearl: What do you call that?
Mumbo: Well I...uh
Pearl: Well?
Mumbo: Oh pants.
Loop #259
Grian: Why have you given Mumbo this idea?
Pearl: Because it sound smart at the time mate.
Grian: This is the worst possible timeline.
Pearl: Because Doc and Mumbo have turned Hermitcraft into a redstone nightmare?
Grian: No, because it's a little humid ... Of course It's because of Doc and Mumbo!
Loop #263
This time Grian had started off towards the end of Evo, just in time to go to the end, the plan was simple: Defeat the dragon at record speeds qnd depending on what variant of the watchers it was either join them or tell them off and possibly go sun titan mode on them if they pushed. The plan had lasted 5 seconds until he recognized a familiar mustache on the dragon's snout thing.
Grian: Mumbo!?!?
Mumbo: Hi G... I think It's because of the end crystals back in Last Life.
Grian: Holy... you...
Mumbo: ... Do you think you could stay here? It's a bit lonely here...
Grian: Yeah, of course Mumbo.
Loop #267
Scott opened his eyes to a big room, by the drapery he could tell he was a noble of some kind, looking by how fancy the decor was it was likely some form of royalty. He was also wearing some gloves which was weird considering how warm it was inside. Then he heard two knocks and a voice.
Pearl: Scott? Scott?
Scott: Gem? What's wrong?
Pearl: Do you wanna build a snowman?
And Scott realized exactly were he was.
Scott: I can't believe it.
Pearl: Shut up.
Scott: Gem is Kristoff?
Pearl: I said shut up mate.
Scott: Ah! Never.
Loop #269
Grian: What's with that face? ... What did you loop as last time.
Pearl: Selene.
Grian: The Moon titaness?
Pearl: Yep, you aren't the only that can go titan mode anymore.
Grian: ... If ... If this is linked to our winner titles. And Scar's is the Earth does that mean he is eventually going to end up... looping as Gaia?
Pearl: Oh ... Oh I see what you mean. Yeah that is... Horrific.
Loop #271
Mumbo was an enderman hybrid with amnesia, Scar was a goat hybrid president and Grian was absolutely done with looping into the dsmp. He knows It's because they are both minecraft servers but still...
Loop #272
Mumbo: I don't know mate, are you sure? I never watched tried third life... I'm kinda used to Last Life.
Grian: Ah don't worry you'll do fine!
Mumbo: I... alright, I'll try it.
Grian and Scar had managed to steal the banner when Ren came after them with his army. Mumbo knew they could take care of themselves but he couldn't just...do nothing. It took him seeing the shocked faces of the red army to realize had accidentally shifted to his ender dragon form. At least Scar and Grian looked excited.
Loop #275
Grian woke up in a room he had never seen before... wait. No.
Grian: Scott? Is this another-
Scott: Welcome to the second ever loop proofed escape room!
Grian: ... No.
Scott: Pearl helped built this one.
Gria : No!
Scar: I can't believe it took so long to finish that first room! ... I'm going to be last.
Scott: ... That wasn't the first room.
Scar: What?
Scott: You finished the entire escape room Scar.
Scar: ...
Scott: How does this stuff keep happening?
Loop #277
Grian: I've made a severe and continuous lapse in my judgement.
Mumbo: What did you do?
Grian: In this loops Grumbot and NPG aren't sentient so I tried to merge the npc Grian AI with the Grumbot AI.
Mumbo sounds incredibly pained.
Mumbo: Why?
Grian: I don't know.

Future 258 victory ace and Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub, Schwertern und Brillanten (Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds) holder Hauptmann Walter Nowotny. He was the commander of the first jet fighter unit in history, 'Kommando Nowotny'. He was KIA on 8 November 1944. He had just shot down a Consolidated B-24 Liberator and a North American P-51D Mustang when one of his Messerschmitt Me 262A-1a 'White 8' WNr 110400 experienced the loss of an engine and he plunged to his death. The first pilot in aviation history to claim 250 victories, he shot down his 258 kills in 442 combat missions. He was "Ace in a day" multiple times and a "Double ace in a day" in 1943. He was taken off combat duties in November 1943 when his score stood at 255, making him the highest scoring ace in the Luftwaffe. During the 11 months that he didn't fly, in which Erich Hartmann (352), Heinz Bär (302) and Günther Rall (275) all overtook him, it poses the question of what his final score may have been if the nearly a years worth of flying time that he lost was not taken from him

daily reminder day 254: eddie k-tozier is alive and well and right now his hands are cold, a common thing with him unfortunately. good thing he has a husband named richie tozier is literally always fucking warm. so the logical thing to do is to stick his hands under richie’s arm pits for warmth, which he admittedly likes doing. it always makes richie jump when eddie does it because his hands are always so goddamn alarming freezing. so he always ends up taking the hands from under his pits and protectively cups eddie’s smaller hands in his bigger ones before bringing them up to his mouth to softly blow warm air into them. it does the trick and, well, eddie likes this method too.
daily reminder day 255: eddie k-tozier is alive and well and he’s like high as hell right now. perched in richie’s lap (who is also high). like seriously don’t ask him about nothing of nothing because he can barely say anything without laughing really hard. he feels great though.
daily reminder day 256: eddie k-tozier is alive and well and right now he’s using richie as a weighted blanket and enjoying how safe he feels while under his husbands warmth and weight.
daily reminder day 257: eddie k-tozier is alive and well and right now he’s playing sims and making a house for him and richie and their dogs that they’re gonna get eventually. they are also vampires in the game because like why the fuck not.
daily reminder day 258: eddie k-tozier is alive and well and he just got reminded why richie is the one that does all the cooking from just putting out a stove fire. he was-
he was just trying to boil water for ramen noodles.
daily reminder day 259: eddie k-tozier is alive and well and right now he’s napping drooling a puddle on richie’s shirt while richie holds him and rubs his back periodically.
daily reminder day 260: eddie k-tozier is alive and well and he wants to remind you all that he’s so proud of you for just even waking up today and/or getting out of bed. he also says to make sure to drink some water.
daily reminder day 261: eddie k-tozier is alive and well and right now he and richie are at the park and laying on a picnic blanket as they cloud watch.
daily reminder day 262: eddie k-tozier is alive and well and right now he’s brushing his teeth in the bathroom while richie fights for his life on the toilet beside him. you know, just best friend/married couple things.
daily reminder day 263: eddie k-tozier is alive and well and right now he’s taking a very much needed mental health day with his husband.
daily reminder day 264: eddie k-tozier is alive and well and right now he is SWAMPED in washing clothes right now so he really can’t talk so please come back tomorrow because he doesn’t want you guys seeing him scream.
daily reminder day 265: eddie k-tozier is alive and well and right now he’s just now waking up. he flips over onto his other side while still in richie’s arms so that he’s facing his sleeping husband. except richie isn’t actually asleep like he wants eddie to think and eddie rolls his eyes, feeling fond. “i know you’re not asleep, rich, you’re not that great an actor.” that’s a lie, richie’s a great actor. but he and richie have only been together since before they even knew they were together, and after countless times of sleeping in the same rolls his eyes, feeling fond. “i know you’re not asleep, rich, you’re not that great an actor.” that’s a lie, richie’s a great actor. but he and richie have only been together since before they even knew they were together, and after countless times of sleeping in the same with a small laugh, “wake up and kiss me already.” richie laughs a little too before opening his eyes. there’s sleep crust in the corner of his eyes and his breath is rancid; eddie probably looks the same. but it doesn’t matter like he used to make it seem like. so they share a morning kiss and bask in the sunlight rays shining in through their curtains.

alright, as promised, here is my personal venom reading guide as of right now, october 2024. disclaimer that this is not in any way intended to be definitive or universal and i am not an authority, i've just read a bunch of venom comics in the past five or so years and have strong feelings on the matter. there's some early stuff i would consider just objectively important for anyone who wants to read and understand venom, but there's also a lot of stuff that's on here because i personally like it (or not on here because i don't). it's highly subjective and informed by my personal opinions and biases. this is also specifically a guide to (primarily) eddie brock venom comics so if you're more interested in other hosts this will not be of much use to you. i have not read every venom comic in existence (there are a lot of them) and either way this is not intended to be an exhaustive list of The Only Comics You Should Read but if you're looking to start exploring the comics i think these are a pretty good place to start if you have remotely the same sensibilities as i do regarding these characters (which to be quite honest if you're getting your comic book recommendations from tumblr dot com you probably do). long disclaimer sorry but comics are SUCH a big and kind of scary topic. anyway the list is under the cut. starred titles are ones i consider particularly high priority if you're skipping around, either because they're plot-critical or because i think they're especially good. have fun
The alien costume arc — If you're able to read a collected edition you'll probably have an easier time than if you manually jump between comics, but I've included the full list anyway. This is a stupid way to publish a story. Comics are stupid. Unfortunately this one is also essential.
Setup — Mostly regular Spider-Man stuff with minor symbiote subplot; skippable or skimmable for symbiote highlights if desired. I would suggest skimming rather than skipping, since seeing how this arc actually played out in the comics is crucial to understanding the ways in which adaptations have warped people's perceptions of the Venom symbiote and of this storyline, which I personally think is a key part of learning to understand the symbiote as a character—there are some misconceptions you've probably picked up through cultural osmosis that you'll need to unlearn if you want to get to the heart of the character, and this is the place to start.

Marvel Team-Up #144

The Spectacular Spider-Man Annual #4
The Amazing Spider-Man #259
The Spectacular Spider-Man #96-#97
Marvel Team-Up #147-#148

★ Web of Spider-Man #1
Later takes on the alien costume arc:
★ The Amazing Spider-Man (2018) Annual #1 by Saladin Ahmed — MANDATORY. Essential reading for symbiote sympathizers. I have this comic on display on a shelf above my bed.
Deadpool: Back in Black (2016) by Cullen Bunn (5 issues)
Venom's appearances as a villain in David Michelinie's issues of The Amazing Spider-Man — Important if you want to understand Venom's history and motivations. Also fun!
★ The Amazing Spider-Man #300 — Venom’s first appearance.
The Amazing Spider-Man #315-#317
The Amazing Spider-Man #332-#333
★ The Amazing Spider-Man #344-#347
★ The Amazing Spider-Man #361-363 — Carnage’s first appearance.
The Amazing Spider-Man #374-#375
★ Venom: Lethal Protector (1993) by David Michelinie (6 issues) — Venom’s first solo comic and introduction as an antihero.
Venom: Separation Anxiety (1994) by Howard Mackie (4 issues)
★ Planet of the Symbiotes (1995) by David Michelinie (5 issues) — An important piece of the puzzle in terms of understanding the symbiote as a character.
Part 1: The Amazing Spider-Man Super Special #1
Part 2: Spider-Man Super Special #1
Part 3: Venom Super Special #1
Part 4: The Spectacular Spider-Man Super Special #1
Part 5: Web of Spider-Man Super Special #1
Venom: Carnage Unleashed (1995) by Larry Hama (4 issues)
★ Venom: The Hunger (1996) by Len Kaminski (4 issues) — My favorite Venom comic!
Venom (2016) by Mike Costa (22 issues) — Symbrock central. As noted below, #159 and #160 are part of Venom Inc. and should be read in combination with the other relevant comics.
The Amazing Spider-Man: Venom Inc. (2017) by Dan Slott and Mike Costa (6 issues) — Really fascinating as an examination of how different characters view symbiotes.
Part 1: Venom Inc. Alpha (2017)
Part 2: The Amazing Spider-Man (2015) #792
Part 3: Venom (2016) #159
Part 4: The Amazing Spider-Man (2015) #793
Part 5: Venom (2016) #160
Part 6: Venom Inc. Omega (2018)
★ Venom: First Host (2018) by Mike Costa (5 issues) — A story that is interested in the ways in which symbiotes are vulnerable to their hosts in a way a lot of Marvel comics simply aren't. Also once again Symbrock central. Costa is probably the #1 Symbrock warrior, even if Kaminski is my personal hero on that front.
★ Venom: Lethal Protector (2022) by David Michelinie (5 issues) — There are no words I could possibly say that would be sufficient to convey to you how ecstatic I was when this comic was announced.
Venom: Lethal Protector II (2023) by David Michelinie (5 issues)
Venom: Separation Anxiety (2024) by David Michelinie (5 issues)
Supplementary material:
Venomverse
Edge of Venomverse (2017) (5 issues)
Venomverse: War Stories (2017) (1 issue)
Venomverse (2017) by Cullen Bunn (5 issues)
★ Extreme Venomverse (2023) (5 issues) — Even if you read no other Venomverse comics, do yourself a favor and read the Black Cat story in Extreme Venomverse #2.
Death of the Venomverse (2023) by Cullen Bunn (5 issues)
Venomverse Reborn (2024) (4 issues) — Unfortunately colored by the bizarre nature of current Venom canon even more than Death of the Venomverse is, although neither are bad comics in and of themselves. If you want to avoid all of that entirely you can read from Edge of Venomverse through Extreme Venomverse and stop there. I don't really keep up with post-Cates Venom canon and every time I see anything about it it baffles me so deeply.
★ Superior Carnage (2013) Annual #1 by Cullen Bunn — I'm kind of obsessed with this comic. Please read it.
Hybrid (1996) by Evan Skolnick — Makes up the second half of each issue of the following comics. Definitely dated in some ways, but introduces some great symbiotes and a great host.
Venom: Along Came a Spider (1996) (4 issues)
Venom: The Hunted (1996) (4 issues)
Venom: Seed of Darkness (1997) by Len Kaminski (1 issue) — A oneshot about Eddie encountering a different mysterious shadowy alien being before he ever bonded with the symbiote, written by the author of The Hunger. Not essential reading but it's a fun little standalone sci-fi story with some nice Eddie characterization.
Phenethylamine by Leah Williams, in Marvel Comics Presents (2019) #5 — Not really a recommendation so much as... a public service announcement, I guess. Is this my favorite comic in the world? No, but it would feel negligent not to tell you it exists. There are better comics. There are comics with a better understanding of the characters. But this is the only one that's explicitly about Eddie having sex with the symbiote, so do with that what you will.
#talk tag#symbiotic talk tag#the extensive disclaimer is mostly bc i know there are people who know more about this than me and i know there are other lists out there#and i want to be so extremely clear that i don't consider this Objectively Correct. i can only advise you from my own biased perspective#i think trying to put together a fully objective reading guide would probably be a fool's errand anyway#all i can fully and earnestly promise you about these recommendations is that they're heartfelt

Here's the rest from week 37!
As always you can follow me on twitter where they’re posted daily
And read more info on each of them below the cut
Daily Dragon #255 - Lego Dragon
I'm not the world's biggest Lego fan but I really didn't think I'd have the energy to draw today. But I couldn't stop myself from finishing this guy. Its design is just so cute!
Daily Dragon #256 - ???BAHAMUT???
You bought this neat RPG you'd never heard of at a garage sale... But, there's something wrong with it... There's a dragon and It's so... hyper realistic... What's wrong? Why does no one know about this game?
This is actually what DRAGON.EXE was originally gonna be, an evil creepy pasta dragon in a video game. But I ended up shifting gears to a computer virus... Soooo here's your evil fucked up creepy pasta bahamut
Daily Dragon #257 - Bouldesaur
These lazy dragons are covered in rocks that protect them while they sleep and eat! Sometimes, they fall asleep on top of hills or mountains, which causes them to roll down at high speeds. They can cause serious damage if they hit something!
Daily Dragon #258 - Cave Dino
These large dragons sleep in large caves found in the sides of mountains. Explorers should be extremely careful when entering caves that have no animals in them. Odds are a Cave Dino is sleeping within it!
Been a bit drained of art power and new ideas for dragons lately I'll be honest. So I think I'm gonna start trying to make more in different mediums if I can. This one was obviously done in Paint 3D. Neat!

My Garden Flowers Part 9
All photos mine.
In order of appearance:
241. Wild Yam (Dioscorea villosa) Not pictured as she hasn't flowered yet.
242. Nodding Wakerobin (Trillium flexipes) Not pictured as she hasn't flowered yet.
243. Moss campion (Silene acaulis) Not pictured as she hasn't flowered yet.
244. Great White Trillium (Trillium grandiflora) Not pictured as she hasn't flowered yet.
245. Yellow Wood-Sorrel (Oxalis stricta) Small yellow flowers. You often find them growing as weeds, but they're native at least to the northern USA bordering southern Ontario. The leaves, flowers, and fruits are a very lovely snack, with a tart refreshing flavour.
246. Horseweed (Erigeron canadensis) A fairly common garden weed, but native so she can stay where she pops up from time to time. Not pictured as I haven't got pictures.
247. Stiff Goldenrod (Oligoneuron rigida) Not pictured as I haven't got pictures yet.
248. Fourflower Loosestrife (Lysimachia quadriflora) Not pictured as she hasn't flowered yet.
249. Smallflower Forgetmenot (Myosotis laxa) At least I think. Her flowers are certainly much smaller than the European pink and blue species I see around. Not sure what else she'd be.
250. Bearberry (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi) Not pictured as she hasn't flowered yet.
251. Tall Meadow-Rue (Thalictrum pubescens) Yet more lacy white flowers! I imagine if you preferred white you could have a full native garden of such.
252. Northern Bog Violet (Viola nephrophylla) Not pictured as she hasn't flowered yet.
253. Wool Grass (Scirpus cyperinus) Not pictured as she hasn't flowered yet.
254. Prairie Milkweed (Asclepias sullivantii) Not pictured as she hasn't flowered yet.
255. Square-Stemmed Monkeyflower (Mimulus ringens) More leggy than her yellow cousin, but still very attractive flowers that look a lot like snapdragons. She needs things moist.
256. Pawpaw (Asimina triloba) Not pictured as she hasn't flowered yet.
257. Meadow Sundrops (Oenothera pilosella) Not quite as intensely yellow as her cousins, Oenothera biennis and Oenothera fruticosa, but still very bright.
258. Wood Lily (Lilium philadelphicum) We don't have a ton of red or orange flowers native here as compared to yellow, white, or pink/purple flowers, so each one is a treat.
259. Virginia Waterleaf (Hydrophyllum virginianum) Yet more lacy white flowers! Not complaining, though, I think they're lovely in the garden. You find these growing in shaded woods.
260. Woodland Strawberry (Fragaria vesca) Unlike her cousin in the front, this one produces lots of berries...but they're white! That's not usual for the species but not unheard of. It's kind of fun to pick little white strawberries each year from that patch.
261. Pickerelweed (Pontederia cordata) Not pictured as she hasn't flowered yet.
262. Bog Rosemary (Andromeda polifolia) This is a cultivar. I will have the wild type one day.
263. Strict Blue-Eyed Grass (Sisyrinchium montanum) Her cousin in the front prefers things dry, but this one, like many members of her family (irises), prefers things moist. It was actually easier to get her to take than the dry one, though, which I had three failed attempts at before the one I planted last year.
264. Downy Yellow Violet (Viola pubescens) Not pictured as she hasn't flowered yet.
265. Purplestem Angelica (Angelica atropurpurea) Not pictured as she hasn't flowered yet.
266. Wrinkleleaf Goldenrod (Solidago rugosa) Not pictured as she hasn't flowered yet.
267. Purple Giant Hyssop (Agastache scrophulariifolia) Not pictured as I haven't got pictures yet.
268. Buffaloberry (Shepherdia canadensis) Not pictured as she hasn't flowered yet.
269. Silverberry (Elaeagnus commutata) Not pictured as she hasn't flowered yet.
270. White Lettuce (Nabalus albus) Not pictured as she hasn't flowered yet.
