At the crack of dawn on a blizzardy New Year’s Eve, Dwight Echols arrives at his shop in Copperdale, just as he’s done numerous times over the last few months since purchasing it. Dwight started his shop, D’s Flowers & Jewelry, with only 589 simoleons left in his pocket after buying the building and covering the shop’s build-out. 

Since then, Dwight has been relying on the proceeds from his early, less skillful creations to cover the costs of building up inventory for his shop. As a level 8 gemologist, he now can craft more valuable pieces, translating to increased revenue for reinvestment in his business. After much effort, he has finally created enough inventory to open his shop, although it’s still approximately a week away from becoming a reality.

During this period, Dwight perseveres by making sacrifices and trimming expenses wherever possible. His meals consist of inexpensive cold cuts and sandwiches, and every waking moment is devoted to his entrepreneurial dream. The lack of a social life drives him to seek companionship online, engaging in conversations through internet forums. And when it comes to rest, he forgoes the travel time back to his apartment, opting instead to sleep on the showroom floor, in a sleeping bag.

1 her dad knew, not that she was a cape, but that she was working with (assumedly under) villains

2 Alexandria is an evil woman, i understand that she probably did this entire thing intentionally for the greater good or whatever cauldrons end plan is, but there was almost definitely another way for her to do it that wasnt so cruel (seriously, why are all these adults okay with abusing, traumatising and killing kids?)

3 theres no way this evacuation is about taylor. either the endbringers are coming down, or the s9 is making a surprise appearance (maybe they fled through the portal, that's a possibility)

4 with how taylor has deduced it to be brian or rachel, im pretty certain that it is nether of them, or they are not actually dead

5 theyre bringing up the birdcage too frequently for it not to be a major plot point down the line, somethings going to happen (and regardless of what that is, i have some ideas, canary will get her free bird moment)

6 thinking on it, the fact she didnt mention regent or imp when she woke up suggests she's properly the only one left behind, even the villains got out. (simurgh? cauldron? has taylor been displaced?)

UPS has reached an agreement with the Teamsters union to avert a strike. These are the highlights of the tentative 2023-2028 agreement:

Historic wage increases. Existing full- and part-time UPS Teamsters will get $2.75 more per hour in 2023, and $7.50 more per hour over the length of the contract.

Existing part-timers will be raised up to no less than $21 per hour immediately, and part-time seniority workers earning more under a market rate adjustment would still receive all new general wage increases.

General wage increases for part-time workers will be double the amount obtained in the previous UPS Teamsters contract — and existing part-time workers will receive a 48 percent average total wage increase over the next five years.

Wage increases for full-timers will keep UPS Teamsters the highest paid delivery drivers in the nation, improving their average top rate to $49 per hour.

Current UPS Teamsters working part-time would receive longevity wage increases of up to $1.50 per hour on top of new hourly raises, compounding their earnings.

New part-time hires at UPS would start at $21 per hour and advance to $23 per hour.

All UPS Teamster drivers classified as 22.4s would be reclassified immediately to Regular Package Car Drivers and placed into seniority, ending the unfair two-tier wage system at UPS.

Safety and health protections, including vehicle air conditioning and cargo ventilation. UPS will equip in-cab A/C in all larger delivery vehicles, sprinter vans, and package cars purchased after Jan. 1, 2024. All cars get two fans and air induction vents in the cargo compartments.

All UPS Teamsters would receive Martin Luther King Day as a full holiday for the first time.

No more forced overtime on Teamster drivers’ days off. Drivers would keep one of two workweek schedules and could not be forced into overtime on scheduled off-days.

UPS Teamster part-timers will have priority to perform all seasonal support work using their own vehicles with a locked-in eight-hour guarantee. For the first time, seasonal work will be contained to five weeks only from November-December.

The creation of 7,500 new full-time Teamster jobs at UPS and the fulfillment of 22,500 open positions, establishing more opportunities through the life of the agreement for part-timers to transition to full-time work.

More than 60 total changes and improvements to the National Master Agreement — more than any other time in Teamsters history — and zero concessions from the rank-and-file.

While Dub and Maia attend Luca's wedding,** Mase is on a different mission. He finally meets Zoe's sibling/legal guardian, Londyn, and Londyn's wife, Macy, tonight. After spending the entire day getting ready, which includes drastically changing his appearance, Mase arrives nervously at the Old Quarter restaurant in Windenburg, where Zoe and her family greet him.

Once inside, they look over their menus. Londyn insists on taking care of the bill, so out of respect, Mase is careful not to order anything too expensive but not too cheap to avoid insulting them.

After quickly taking everyone else's order, the waiter lingers while taking Macy's. Macy seems to like the extra attention. Londyn tries to ignore the prolonged interaction.

Londyn: So Mason—

Mason: Oh, you can call me Mase.

Londyn: *corrects themselves* Mase, we've heard much about you. You're the only thing Zo here seems to talk about these days.

Mason: My family could probably say the same thing about me regarding Zoe.

Londyn: Is that right? I'm glad she means as much to you as you do to her.
