I was introduced to this tweet via ONTD, and I was too late to play there, but I'm playing now!

Also it turns out I did not read the tweet very carefully, and focused simply on choosing the first twenty songs that spark instant joy. So although some of these were picked based on positive associated memories, very little should be read into this in terms of what stirs my soul or even whether I consider these tracks my favorites, on account of I love very many sad songs, and songs with beautiful lyrics that spark Feelings, but not joy specifically. Nevertheless!

I didn't stick to compiling my all-time favorites, though! I filtered out any of my more moody-feels faves and zeroed in on the "instant joy" part of the prompt. I saw a Twitter meme thing that was like, make a playlist of your top 20 tracks that are not just songs you love listening to but are also a reflection of your soul, your innermost spiritual self, don’t repeat any artists. I was surprised by some of the songs I picked but I was also attempting to be honest, and I know I succeeded because this mix makes me feel so exposed lol.

Sarajevo's Olympics

Today, the bobsled track looks very different. Years of war and turmoil led to not only the neglect of the bobsled track but the utilization of it during the war. It was used by Serbian forces during the war.¹ Like many sites in Sarajevo, it is pock-marked with bullet holes, a casualty of the war. 

The surrounding mountains were also riddled with landmines, which were used excessively in Sarajevo and in surrounding areas during the war.² Some of these landmines remain unexploded (and therefore incredibly dangerous), and local guides have historically warned tourists not to stray too far off paths at the risk of detonating them.

The level of damage done on the bobsled track is extreme. Primarily constructed of concrete blocks, the bobsled track was built to last. Even through the horrors of the siege and subsequent abandonment by the government, the bobsled track has remained standing.

It is now a canvas for the artists of Sarajevo, full of detailed and exceptional graffiti. It has even become a sort of symbol for the city. Even through war, years of instability, and neglect, Vučko remains. Now spray painted back onto the destroyed track, he takes on an entirely new meaning altogether: that Sarajevo survived.

What is STEM?

And lastly, The M in STEM stands for Mathematics. The basis for all advances in science and technology is math. Without a strong understanding of the mathematical concepts, it would not be possible to develop new technologies or advance current ones.

A STEM student benefits greatly. This will particularly open up a wide range of career options in various fields, including engineering, computer science, healthcare, and the environment. Because STEM fields are so diverse, students can follow their passions and find careers that interest them.

I am deeply concerned about everything being taken to the next step.

I would invite you to watch this and draw your own conclusions.

But what stands out to me in this video is the line he says about “Israel’s five front war.” Lebanon to the north, Syria to the northeast, the West Bank, Iran to the east, and Gaza in the west.

This whole thing is blowing up, and blowing up fast, with actions being taken by America and Russia to further tensions.

And Egypt..

What are we to think of this? That the warning was disregarded? Or that it was accepted, the loss of life accepted? I can only think of the men looking out at icebergs on the Titanic.

And this…

Hamas has called to all Muslims in the world to attack all Jews? Friday October 13th?? That’s horrifying. Will people answer such a bloody call? A world wide jihad?

The US has the second largest population of Jews to Israel. Are we going to see active shooters on Friday? This Friday? It’s October 11 2023 as of writing this. Hopefully this call to arms will be ignored and discarded.

The Lord’s Great Victory Over the Nations

At that time they prophesied for years that I would bring you against them. 18 This is what will happen in that day: When Gog attacks the land of Israel, my hot anger will be aroused, declares the Sovereign Lord. 19 In my zeal and fiery wrath I declare that at that time there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. 20 The fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the beasts of the field, every creature that moves along the ground, and all the people on the face of the earth will tremble at my presence. The mountains will be overturned, the cliffs will crumble and every wall will fall to the ground. 21 I will summon a sword against Gog on all my mountains, declares the Sovereign Lord. Perhaps this is not the event written about, for Israel has little known peace in its time as a nation.

But perhaps there shall be an earthquake.

But as a Christian, despite the loss of life, I think that there is but one way this conflict can go. It will be painful, it will be horrible, many will die. But Israel will be standing when it is finished.

I chose to write about women and the Olympics. From the TED Talk we watched in class earlier in the week, we saw that the speaker was one that carried a flag. Although she was a women, she was able to participate. The olympics started in the 1800′s and she was able to carry a flag in the 1900′s. This is sad to see but is an example of every day diversity that women have been facing throughout the years. It was not until the 1900′s when a women won in the Olympics. It is also not fair because no matter the gender, everyone is talented and deserves an opportunity to compete in the Olympics.
