if 911 is still running in 2028 they have the funniest opportunity to do an episode focused around the opening of the LA olympics… like season opener fall of 2028 being the LAFD being part of the olympics opening and the torch lighting setting a municipal building on fire, or some other major event… put me in the writers room immediately
(also yes the olympics take place in the summer but the season opener isn’t necessarily set at the time it premieres so my idea still works)

I know that this is supposed to be a Swiftie blog but surprise 🎉
He just needed his moment to shine since I’m worried about him making it to the 2028 Olympics
(YES I HAVE VERY LOW FAITH IN SOMEONE WHO HAS A 4 AXLE BUT DOESN’T ALWAYS COMPETE WITH IT)

Honestly, the olympics get cooler with every opening ceremony, and this was fucking top notch. I mean, for those who don’t pay attention or maybe were too young:
Beijing had like, 1000 dancers perfectly choreographed and a bunch of lanterns
Athens had living statues
London had the actual Queen (not a double, really QE2) go running around her own palace with Daniel Craig in spy mode
Tokyo had a kickass giant drum ceremony
And that’s just off the top of my head! I don’t remember what Sydney’s was like because I immediately fell in love with an Australian swimmer and that has eclipsed my entire memory of the event. And I was a little too young probably to remembering Atlanta or Barcelona. Definitely too young to remember Seoul in 1988 (I was like 5 months old 😅)
Anybody who says the opening ceremony of the Olympics is boring has not been paying attention, and I hope LA lives up to the standards that have been set
an incomplete list of some Things that happened in the olympic opening ceremony
Both Lady Gaga and Celine Dion gave performances
Three teenagers got lost in the catacombs with the olympic flame and got saved by the phantom of the opera
a ménage à trois
20 different pink clad marie antoinettes holding their own chopped off heads watched a metal concert
Dionysius showed up to preach about sobriety??
a guy dressed as Napoleon did BMX tricks
the peace flag was carried by this horsewoman of the apocalypse
The phantom of the opera did parkour. a lot of parkour
3 seperate pianos were rained on
One was on fire
The on fire piano was involved in a very sincere rendition of John Lennon's Imagine
They never actually explained the phantom of the opera bit? I was really expecting him to look different
The minions stole the mona lisa
Are the minions french???
A french man in red white and blue played the accordion while wearing a beret
In conclusion: excellent entertainment, excellent showing off, good luck america trying to top this
