Stephen Miller, AKA the man responsible for the zero-tolerance policy that led to the family separation crisis at the border under the first Trump administration, AKA the guy who held pictures of Hispanic people on a stick and asked "is this who you want your neighbors to look like" to a roaring, jeering crowd, AKA our new deputy chief of staff come January, promised to "turbo charge" denaturalization in 2025 last year.

For the uninitiated, naturalization is the process by which immigrants who have been in the United States as permanent residents for many years can apply to become citizens.

Denaturalization is the process by which immigrants who are United States citizens have their citizenship status forcibly revoked in order to make it easier to capture, detain, and forcibly deport them from the country they have lived and built a life, family, and community in for years.

Likely, they will use the same angle they use for justification of deportation, which is "suspicion" of crime (a marked shift from "conviction" of a crime— the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, which Trump is invoking, is used to bypass court trials and systems in times of "invasion". Which he has been calling immigration for years).

This has been their "in", because once they get people to accept that maybe criminals can be deported, they begin to cite "well, crossing the border illegally is a crime in and of itself". You probably have already seen this, obviously, if you pay any attention to the news.

Tom Homan, the newly appointed "border czar" and former head of ICE, said it is on the table for "a grandma" of someone suspected of crimes to be deported as well once ICE enters the household, in an interview with 60 Minutes.

This is good information to have in case you want to protest this policy when the time comes.

for non Americans and Americans alike, let me tell you a little bit about our government.

You get to vote, but don’t let that trick you — there are some people (the electoral college, I think) who decide what each state decides to vote for. Your vote doesn’t count (please vote anyway). These people choose who the state’s vote goes to. Let me say that again. You vote doesn’t really count, but if you vote enough for Kamala, maybe they won’t be able to say the vote goes to tr*mp (who doesn’t deserve to be capitalized).

And then there are the people whose votes are worth more than others, because of the southern states in hte 1900s.

Not-So-Fun Fact!

trump wasn’t even supposed to win in 2015, just the electoral ppl decided that the votes would go to him, and the guys whose votes are worth more are repubs/conservative.

So in conclusion, vote for democrats for Congress, and also vite for Kamala Harris! Unhappy voting season!
