I ignored the brief and just did a fun round up of some fave screenies/posts from this year cos apparently i can't read and rules are LAME anyway!! weeee 🤸‍♀️🧡

January - Oscar scared the shit out of baby Levi and we finally found out where Triss had been hiding 🥹

February - Robin met his bestie Alex on a camping trip and had enough of Levi's bullshit upon returning to school ffkfgjfk

March - Kian got out of prison (ew) and decided to inconvenience his unsuspecting half-brother.. who didn't last long before telling him to shove it.

April - Oscar pissed Ivan off on a road trip of doom and Joey is still Joey..

OH.. and Triss is hot af (no literally.. he's at the beach but also 🥵) also also.. him n' Tilda finally bumped uglies and were very cute

May - Robin saved Levi from a soggy fate and spoke to him for the first time and the Finch's pretty much adopted him, whether he liked it at the time or not!

June - I clearly took a break I forgot about in June so.. random edits woo 🤸‍♀️

July - Oscar reminded us that addiction never truly goes away... (i think if i had to pick my fave post of the year this would be a top contender!)

August - The Finch family kidnapped Levi and went camping! 🤸‍♀️🌲 (MR CROWBAR WAS THERE TOO!)

September - School was shit and Levi betrayed Robin's trust :c

October - Things got tense and spooky in Robin's Until Dawn flavoured dream 😱 (probs the highlight of the year in an otherwise shite month for me tbh so yaaay for you guys for making it so fun! 🧡)

November - Alex moved to the Bay!!! in contrast we also spent a few miserable days with Levi and Wren was her savage self and called Penny Budget Barbie which.. was iconic tbh go ginger queen go! 🧡

December - Robin was sick of Levi's stupid "friends" picking on Alex and let loose his inner Oscar, speaking in front of Alex for the first time (rip Aster for missing it tbh like what a time to take a whizz) buuut.. Robin still broke first and decided to stop snubbing Levi cos he felt bad for him ;-;

actually, I'm delighted to report that, personally, this year was pretty uneventful. an absolute blessing compared to last year. although i lowkey adored the mini explosion of pygmy hippos 🦛 fandom on the other hand... hoo boy what a shit show. but that's not telling you anything you don't know. it definitely still had its highlights tho! take a speedrun with me, besties (under the cut because apparently i ramble a lot)

@this-is-bwr had a hell of a year, most notably by starting an original work that is nearly finished its first round. i'm so fucking excited and seriously don't think i could be more proud of you (although you will inevitably prove me wrong by doing some other incredible Thing) 🖤

@stereopticons finished and published an incredible, highly anticipated Schitt's Creek fic that's been in their WIPs for 2 years. Love a good exes-to-lovers with a healthy dose of miscommunication and meddling? go read gather up the avenues. you won't regret it, promise. i love you so much and look forward to our next year together. 🦦❤️🦛

learned i'm tumblr married to a witch (affectionate). when @bidisasterevankinard first brought up the idea of Buck and Tommy getting together, i was... (don't hate me) skeptical. definitely more in the 'ok, sure, we'll see' realm. oops. love you the mostest, babe (please don't divorce me) also, she graduates uni this year and has worked so fucking hard and i could not be more proud 😘💙

Okay, who wants to hear about today's moment of magic?

Long story under the cut.

So the SO and I are getting married next month. It's really not a big deal, we're literally going down to the courthouse with @feathersandfoxtails and another bestie on the anniversary of our first date, signing the papers and doing an at-the-counter ceremony. We've been together for 14 years and own a house and a dog together. When it comes to loving and pledging our lives to each other, it's something we've grown into and we choose each other every day. Our families know we're good for life, so there's really no reason to spend a bunch of money on a ceremony. We've got everything we need, we go on "honeymoons" all the time, and we're both theater people, so it's just another event to plan and stage manage and produce and honestly, we'd both just rather put on another show with that cash than have our moms get nuts about invite lists and catering choices.

ANYWAY. With 2025 looming and all the uncertainty it's bringing, I just want it to be official in the eyes of the state so that's never a question. This dude goes up to the cabinland by himself and builds cabins 7 feet off the ground and runs chainsaws and such. If he ends up in the hospital, I don't want to be turned away from holding his hand through an amputation, you know? He's the most honest, trustworthy, good-hearted man I've ever met (if not sometimes frustratingly stubborn about being right all the damn time), and we share the same taste in just about everything. He's an inch shorter than Pedro with shoulders just as broad and eyes just as brown and a good mix of Frankie and Pero and Din and he puts up with my weirdness and I'm not letting him go.

So at one point he asks me if I'd like a ring. And I said no, mostly because I have a million rings and I like to switch them out and I'm not going to be taking up a good finger with one ring forever. My ladybits may be monogamous, but I'm not forcing that on any of my fingers. (That came out wrong. Oh well.) Besides, he's in carpentry. He doesn't like jewelry, much less wear it.

"I would for you," he said.

Cue melting.

But. Also. Another unnecessary expense. (Also, in true mischief fashion, I want to keep the marriage a secret just to see the looks on people's faces when someone like my nosy aunt's like "when you getting married?" and I can say, "oh, we are. Anyway. Pass that turkey...")

And that was that. Until I saw the script they walk you through at the courthouse.

At first glance, it's pretty short, literally an exchange of "do you?/ I dos" and exchange of rings and signing of the certificate by all the parties. No changes allowed, no vows, no "you may kiss," just cut and dry, like 2 minutes tops.

*record scratch* Exchange of rings. No changes. Aw hell.

Cue my online auction addiction. Did I mention that I have an online auction addiction? Surprise! There's a lot of lakeside property in Minnesota and rich folks come and go, passing on or downsizing or whatnot, and there's always fun estate sales going on, which is where I get a lot of my instruments and fun witchy supplies.

Literally the day I read that marriage script and was wondering if I could just fish out some rings from my jewelry box to suffice, this auction came up:

What you are looking at are two antiquities, Viking-era brass rings circa 850 - 1050 CE, the gold plating is pitted and old, but they've been restored and preservation-sealed. I did a lot of research on them and the company that they came from (as well as digging up info on antiquities/museum relations and dealers that may come in handy for a Thief fic at one point), and they're the real deal.

The sizes weren't listed (they were packaged in conservation envelopes, the box is mine) and so I lowballed a bid and was surprised that nobody outbid me. That never happens.

I told the SO that I'd won them and he's like, cool, how do you know they'll fit? I said I didn't. They're not meant to be worn. We use them for the ceremony and then shadowbox and display them nicely. If they don't really fit properly, that's okay, they're only there to fulfill the script. I'm not really getting a fancy dress or anything like that, so we might as well have one little piece of magic on the day. I just thought ancient Viking rings would be cool because he loves history and I've got me some Scandinavian blood and Viking thighs.

But y'all. The magic continues. Because I picked them up today...

And they fit us. Exactly. I'm kinda freaking out about it.

Even my atheist SO looked at me and said, "Hot damn. It's like it's meant to be."

Damn straight, boyfriend. Damn straight.

[Fun fact, each decade I always choose a favourite year(which ends up always being the better for me), in 2020 I wrote down that the best year in that decade would be 2025, so I know this is going to be the BEST YEAR!!!!]

2024 was kind of a strange year for me. like it was actually really good in a lot of ways. i got to take my dream trip to paris and rome AND see a WINDMILL (iykyk) with my partner @itsabeenado and my bestie @warriorhoneybee. i saw taylor TWICE at wembley (and heard LONDON BOY AND DEAR JOHN AND IDSB AND MBOBHFT live!!!!) and Phil Dunster in Oklahoma from the front row. I saw Sabrina and Gracie. Health wise I'm doing much better. My sugars are running better, my blood pressure is down, my mental health isn't hitting the weeks long lows the way it used to, and my anxiety meds are doing their job.

But towards the end it really nosedived. Years of trying to stay afloat while also keeping up with people who were doing financially much better than me have finally caught up and I'm barely staying afloat. I don't really have any money left at the end of the month, going on 4 months now. I need a better paying job but I'm only qualified for the one I have. I'm stressed about money way more than I used to be, and I have the knowledge that I'm the only one to blame.

But going into 2025, I'm trying to focus on the positive. My health, including my mental health, is doing better, and that's something. I've made it through another year even though at some points it was extremely difficult. And I have all of you.

Ted Lasso fandom was home for a long time and when the show ended and I kind of lost the motivation to write about Jamie and Roy, I was afraid I would never find that kind of community again. But then I found 911. And the show not only inspired me to write again when I hadn't in at least 6 months, but I met so many people who I adore and who I'm so happy to consider friends. I look forward to hanging out here on tumblr with y'all more, to watch our little show and write our fics and share our headcanons. I'm really glad I made friends with y'all this year.

Here are some of the people that I feel so so grateful and happy to know, who've helped me even if we've never spoken just because they shared some headcanon that got me through the day or they made some piece of art or wrote a fic that made my day. I'm so grateful for this fandom. Thank you, 911blr. I know that this fandom is a mess sometimes and there's so much fighting, but I really love the little corner I've carved out for myself.

I present to you: a little family and my ultimate New Years render!

All the way on the left you may spot Joanne. She really likes to go crazy with the hairstyles and rarely has time for her outfit, this time she managed to pull something together tho.

Joanne is holding her niece - Amelia, named after Joa's and Fran's grandma. Little girl is facinated by her first ever New Years celebration! (well at least the first one she is spending around her family and not sound asleep in bed). She is also dressed in a new cutest set by the @aliengirl, the family's favourite designer!

You might notice another little girl in the middle - Rene. She is a curious one - so she's already found one box with her name and noone dared to take it away from her, so baby started recieving gifts a bit earlier)

Our 'Mrs. Clause' is Francheska, Amelia's mom and Joanne's younger sister. She was never into all the holiday spirit, but for her little angel she would go over mount Everst. They had a tough year, but since all 3 of the besties (+ kids obviously) started living together - it is getting better, slowly, but it is.

Now, the last person on this picture is Stefanie, Rene's mom. She's been friends with Luis family for ages. And since both Stef and Fran had quite bad breakups this year - they moved in with Joanne all together)

Their happy ever after is just starting, from fresh page in a new house with a new family. Their daughters don't know yet how lucky they are to have them, but they will. Who knows, maybe Stef and Fran will find the comfort and sence of security they were seeking way closer. We can only guess...

And with that, the 2024 season does indeed come to an end... Happy New Year and happy holidays to all of you! Thank you all for making this platform feel like home to me this year. Thanks to all my mutuals and all my followers (249 already!!!). And HUGE thanks to all my friends, especially the online once, since they know about the 'Loony_Moon' side of me and are very supportive on my journey!*

At 93 notes, we have my baby, "Shattered"!!! "Shattered" ended up becoming a mini-passion project for me (clearly). What was meant to be a mid-sized blurb ended up progressing to 10k words - how that happened is beyond me. Everytime I thought I was done and ready to close up and conclude, there'd be another part, another bit that I'd want to add. It even got to a point where I'd be on my bus home from work or college, almost falling asleep when I'd get woken up with more inspo, lol. It was my first time writing angst in a very, very, very long time but looking back now, I really truly enjoyed it and I'm quite proud of it! Maybe more angst reqs in my future? I’m leaning towards YES

IN 4TH PLACE:

LIKE EVERY SINGLE INBOX REQ IS SMUT? EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. Idk how many times I can reinvent the wheel, so to speak, but I'll sure as hell try....hehehe

At 143 notes, we have "Game, Set, Match" part 1 - Ben Shelton. AWWWW MY BABY, MY LOVECHILD! This was the first ever STORY and I'm so glad it became a 3 part story too. Triple Platinum, I know that's right!!! I really loved making this, I didn’t plan to add the Instagram element, especially since I’m usually terrible at fake IG fic stuff (finding the right images is so limiting). But for GSM, it just felt right. I think my writing has improved a lot since then, too. I always laugh at my Ben posts because my A.Ns are always like "oh brother a LONG ONE HERE" and then my next post is even longer 😭 Thank u fr for the love on this one, because THAT'S when I really got a whole lottaaa support and love and it rly blew me out of the water, I could cry.

No surprises here, it was meant to be. I say that because I had this ask sitting in my inbox and decided to do a poll asking what I should post first - after tagging all the tags, I should've known it'd be crazily ratio'd by the Jude community on here, hahahhaha. I think it was something like 80% for Jude and the rest scattered throughout? This was my first ever Jude blurb, and I think it'll be one of many. I have a couple in my inbox but the future is there for me and writing about that silly guy.

Was that as interesting for you as it was for me? I've been meaning to talk and reflect to u all inbetween the whole "Advent Calendar" series.

If anything, these stats tell me more about you guys, what you want to see and how I should continue going forward. I always want to write about things that matter the most and stick with you, fics that have you coming back to reread and enjoy.

Having representation in my characters and creating a world where you can sink into time and again is one of the best and only things I can give, so you bet by all means neccessary I don't want to half-ass it.

I might not know where your headspace is at, or what's going on in your life but I hope whatever happens, I can have a little space right here, make you laugh, smile and feel things that take your mind off of reality. At least until you finish reading.

1. How many words did you publish on AO3 in 2024?

166,452 apparently? That's pretty good. Go me, I guess. Maybe I'll hit 200k in 2025!

14? I think? If I'm counting correctly? Mostly one-shots

3. How many in progress or ongoing fics did you start this year?

5, which is way too many.... I really need to finish some of these. Especially Barbarian Bat. I keep forgetting I need to finish that and there's literally just one chapter to go, so what's my excuse?

4. What was your favorite thing you wrote?

I'm not going to lie, writing omegaverse Nessian was a lot of fun this year! It's just 13k words of straight smut, but I had a blast doing it. I also wrote it all in the span of like a week. I was knocking out 2k words a day. It was crazy! I need that version of me to return.

5. What piece was your most experimental or different from your usual style?

Finally giving in to my desires and branching into the world of Rhysta this year was probably my most experimental. It was also super fun to write! And I'm super excited for @rhystaappreciationweekend in 2025 to continue with the Rhysta hate-fucking agenda 🫡

6. Did any fics surprise you - either while writing or their reception?

Probably the most surprising in terms of reception was how much Gargoyle Rhys flopped.... It's one of my worst performing fics of 2024. Which is funny if you think about it, since Feysand is the biggest ship in this fandom 😂 Clearly, there should be no more Feysand from me in 2025. Regency Feysand can just only live in my mind

7. Do you have a fic you wrote and loved that went under the radar? (This is your sign to reblog/repost it!)

I'd say my Nesta and Feyre one-shot inspired by Noah Kahan's Orange Juice. I'm not surprised by its numbers. People prefer romantic fics, not sisterly fics, but I really love that one, so wish it got more love...

8. Who is an artist that inspired you?

Forever and always @dustjacketdraws and @jmoonjones 🩵 but also @climbthemountain2020, @positivewitch, and @sassyhobbits

9. Who is an author that inspired you?

The Nesta Besties, of course! Forever enabling every unhinged thought and new idea inspired by a TikTok that I bring into the GC 😂 but I also have to give a special shout-out to @witch-and-her-witcher who is not only an amazing human being, but also a super talented writer, and who inspired me this year with the way she steps out of fandom "comfort zones" and into rare-pairs and by encouraging (and beta-ing) Rhysta for me 🩵

10. Who is a new author you discovered?

We've been blessed in the Nessian fandom in 2024 with @xxvalkyriesxx @wishcamper and @jsmelodies joining our unhingery 😇 But I also just bookmarked @littedidyouknow's I Will Be With You 'til the World Blows Up to read so imma just preemptively call that out because I know it's already going to be good. Also, JellyBeanJellyFish on AO3's Etched Into Skin is delicious

12. What accomplishments are you proudest of?

Uhhhh.... I'd say the successful Appreciation Weeks? @moodymelanist is the true queen, and I but a mere Nessian Court member, but I feel like it was a good year for Nessians this year! Nesta, Cassian, and Nessian Week were all so fun to brainstorm and all were pretty successful if I do say so myself.

13. What did you learn about writing or creating this year?

One thing I learned is that not everyone is going to like what you like, and most definitely not like what you write, and that's okay! I've gotten the most hate anons this past year since I joined the fandom, but I've decided who cares? Having Fun Only is the vibe I'm carrying into 2025. That and more unhinged in 2025!

14. Any advice you'd like to share with new or aspiring writers?

Find your people. Especially in this fandom where there's so much toxicity and mess sometimes, finding your people is clutch. Writing is more fun in a group, I'm so serious. People you can brainstorm with. People who will sprint with you. People who will scream (and cry) and hype you up. People who will make writing memes. Find those people, and even though it's scary, reach out to them. Make friends, block the haters

15. What are your creative goals for 2025?

I really want to write a canon Nessian long-fic in 2025. I'd say that's my biggest creative goal. All of my chaptered fics have been AUs and that's sort of been a comfort zone for me, so I really want to step outside it and into the canonverse. Also, I really want to write an Elucien chaptered fic. Branch out into other ships more seriously, ya know?

3 completed, 1 chaptered and 2 one shots.

3. How many in progress or ongoing fics did you start this year?

If we are talking about already published fics, there are 2 ongoing fics from this year. There is Used to be Young (Demons), a Peaky Blinders canon divergent fic featuring some of my own OCs that I am really fond of. It’s a Tommy x OC fic. And, of course, there’s Flight Risk, my Elucien Christmas rom-com AU that turned out way longer than it was supposed to be. I also started writing a sequel one shot to one of my existing one shots though.

4. What was your favorite thing you wrote?

I’m not even sure about this because everything I write is dear to me, but I guess it is Love ain’t some magical thing. It was my first time writing Elucien and really diving into ACOTAR fics.

5. What piece was your most experimental or different from your usual style?

This would be I Found the Missing Part of Me, the one shot I wrote for Lucien Week this year. I dived back into the old writing form of song fics with that one.

6. Did any fics surprise you - either while writing or their reception?

Well, I get surprised by my characters on a regular basis, but I got most surprised by how much I enjoyed writing Vassa and Jurian in Flight Risk.

I really liked how my Lucien Week one shot I Found the Missing Part of Me turned out. And I tried my hand on a collage as a cover for the first time!

There are lots of great artists but the ones inspiring me the most are @works-of-heart @fierling @jadedbug @bonecarversbestie @olenvasynyt !

9. Who is an author that inspired you?

I’ve been inspired to dive into writing Elucien fics thanks to @crazy-ache. I wouldn’t have been able to write that first Elucien one shot without her.

10. Who is a new author you discovered?

All the wonderful Elucien authors out there! @crazy-ache @zenkindoflove @clarafae @bonecarversbestie to name a few, but there were so much more!

11. Did you do any collaborations? How did it start?

I wrote (and finished) the fic Sixth Time’s The Charm with my bestie truly_madly_deeply in the span of a few weeks this year. We have written several stories together during our friendship. This project for Midsomer Murders started actually four years ago but when we went on holiday this summer we finally came back to this idea and finished it!

12. What accomplishments are you proudest of?

I don’t know if it’s an accomplishment, but what I am proudest of this year is the smut I wrote in Love ain’t some magical thing. I personally think it’s the best smut I’ve ever written.

13. What did you learn about writing and creating this year?

I have learned to go with the flow so to speak. I am not taking writing as seriously as I used to do. The world will not end if I don’t meet a deadline I have set for myself with a specific posting rhythm because I cannot force myself into writing if it doesn’t work on a specific time or day.

14. Any advice you’d like to share with new or aspiring writers?

See the answer above: do not take you or your writing too seriously. It might kill the fun you have while writing. And do not fear to reach out to people if you need help or just need to talk about your writing.

15. What are your creative goals for 2025?

I’m gonna finish Flight Risk and Used to be Young and write more Elucien one shots (or even longer fics). And I’m gonna work more on the world building for my original fantasy novel.

My piece for @secretsaito this year! I was SO thrilled and excited to be assigned to write a story for my bestie, @nutterzoi. The only problem is that A) half the time, I wind up telling her about a thing I want to write and we wind up writing it together, and B) we show each other EVERY THING we are working on and writing as we go. We have been RL best friends for 31 years, guys. Her kiddos call me Aunt Sara. I cannot keep a secret from this woman!
