I liked Lucien almost immediately, in the first book.

He is a very lively and bright character. Against the closed and slightly gloomy Tamlin, Lucien immediately stood out and aroused sympathy. I don’t know how his character will develop, but while I’m reading books, I have never been disappointed in him. I’ll show his mask a little later. For now, let’s look at his beautiful face with a sly smile, the son of the Autumn Court. And the mechanical eye doesn’t spoil it at all, do you agree?

Lucien pulled their linked arms forward to present the cuffs to them, “It’s a long story.” Graysen snorted, his arms crossed over his chest, “Is this some kind of possessive Fae ritual? Claim your bride with bondage?” Elain’s cheeks instantly burned as embarrassment and anger flooded her. Lucien turned his neck sharply in Graysen’s direction.

I think the best thing about Jassa is the concept of these humans surviving in a world of fae.

That element of mortality as people who have lived through betrayal, war, and the both of them having their physical form altered in some way against their will, going through all of this as mere humans.

It’s honestly really epic when you think about it. Vassa and Jurian being a human queen and general, possibly even ruling the Human Lands together, despite having no immortal life or magic (save for Vassa being forced to be a firebird half the day) or even alliances from centuries ago like Helion and Rhys. hell, half the fandom hated Jurian until ACOWAR.

The aspect of a human who is able to do the same thing and survive in this world of fae, illyrians, and monsters, is one of the things that drew me to ACOTAR in the first place, so I’m really hopeful we’ll see it expanded on even more as we follow The Human Queen and the Mad General.
