It burns, so agonizingly much, that uncertainty about this whole ordeal crept up your spine and settled in your chest.

Was this the right thing to do? To flee? It echoed in the emptiness that took over your head. It was perplexing and uncomfortable. You shouldn't feel empathy for him. He was crazy, deranged! Gone, a maniac, a bastard—

But maybe he was innocent and you were running away from the ghosts hunting you.

He was all that was left of your family. You didn't want to do this, you wanted him with you, loving and sweet, but it seemed that fate had different plans for the two of you. It seems that fate didn't favour you.

He had wormed himself into your life—then into your sacred family bonds, destroying what was already fragile. The mask he wore was that of a kindred spirit that sought for love, yet you never knew better than to believe the artificially crafted facade.

Prior he was an orphan, abandoned by his mother at six, which admittedly tugged at your heartstrings, even more so after learning the horrible foster parents, which was followed by the straight up ignorant adoptive family that took him in only for prestige matters.

So it wasn't that you didn't understand his desire for family, and you were even happy for him! Glad he found love in yours, yet all your hopeful dreams of finally peace settling in had vanished the moment the first of your relatives cut you off. Then a second followed, a third, a fourth until even your mom shunned you, refusing to see you any longer. They absolutely adored your husband but hated your guts.

However he didn't seem to hold the same adoration for them, no, he didn't even possess an ounce of sympathy with them as he watched them turn to ashes Infront of his very own eyes, laughing, like the maniac he was.

“Love!” he would jump up and down you remembered, seemingly over the moon by your dad praising him or your sister gifting him something meaningless as a cookie.

After he had burned down everything holy to you, he had just slipped back into your shared bed, stinking horribly of that kind of smell that reached your nose every time you left your omelette too long on the stove.

You hadn't understood then, but you did now, that that smell was foreshadowing to the petrifying news that had reached you the next day.

Everything spiralled out of your control after that day. You were completely scattered, forgetful, permanently teary-eyed, clumsy and visibly distraught.

So it started with your inability to hold up your job, which made him offer you to stay at home, while he financed you both. He was so devilishly sweet, messaging your shoulders when you were completely stiff, guiding you through breakdowns, cooking for you, feeding you. You hadn't know how you got so lucky with him.

However things became odd quickly, your friends seemed to disappear one by one, their numbers blocked, deleted or erased from existence. You were unbelievably mad, was this because of your new miserable state—the friends that swore to go through thick and thin with you, leaving you in your most vulnerable times—how could they!

Although you were burning with anger, even that was quickly forgotten thanks to him. He was your absolute everything, your entire world and you were much obviously his. You two were a match made in heaven—or at least that's what you believed until that one phone call.

“Stacey?—”

“You have to get out of there! He isn't what he seems to be— your husband, he’s crazy! He threatened me! If I didn't stop being in contact with you then he would have also murdered me like he did with your family—” your heard your friend over the phone, voice unusually frail, breaths laboured with sniffling in the background.

Your heart leaped in your chest at the sound of her frantic claims, completely unbelievable and baffling, even if your trust for her had completely evaporated, uncertainty still poisoned you and infiltrated your mind like a sickness.

Nevertheless you did end the call before she could spew anymore nonsense, sealing her terrible fate, because unbeknownst to you, that was the last time she would ever talk to anyone.

Things didn't feel normal anymore after that, suspiciousness spread through you, gnawing at your already highly sensitive nerves, you instability just making you waver back and forth from completely denying the unapparent truth and panicking that perhaps it was true. She was your friend for years after all, what reason did she have to lie?

That was until you found Stacey’s childhood diary in his possession with dried splatter of blood decorating it—as if this wasn't terrifying enough what met you on the inside made you drop the book, completely mortified and stunned into silence.

Every entry that contained your name scribbled over with hearts, anything that had to do with you underlined, things that you liked circled in like a madman.

You were terrified to say the least—she was right, she was right and you didn't believe her.

Tears welled up in your eyes and before you knew it, your feet carried you out of your shared home, still in your PJ's with slippers adorning your feet.

Which leads to this moment in the present.

PILE 1 - 'To give or to receive, that is the question'

Okay so for this group, you have to remember that to receive you also have to give something, but to give you also need to be reciprocated. Most people can only do one, but this causes imbalances over time. You must prepare for acts of service, keep up good boundaries to not be leeched off of, and to be open to receiving from which february is a good time to get what you need/want from others. Don't be afraid to receive because whats for you is for you, got it? Some of you may have to learn how to put in more effort by gift giving and just doing something for somebody you love. For others, your empress energy is kicking in and you can be fed all you desire if you just allow. Hope this helps!

PILE 2 - 'The Union of a Lifetime; Soulmate connections coming thru'

So for this group a very special encounter is coming in for you. For some of you, empathic abilities could be intensified during this time, and you could look to the moon for answers if you just let go and allow your intuition to give you the insight it is that you are seeking. Your mindset is going through transformation, and you are being called to be more open to dreams that can lead you to messages from your spirit guides, angels, the universe etc. This group should focus on practicing meditation and leaning towards cleansing tools for their aura. Doing egg cleanses, saging, sea salt baths, anything that will help cleanse their aura and their space is beneficial at this time. I'd get into that if I we're you ;)

All The Bright Places

I'm broken, and no one can fix it. I've tried. I'm still trying. I can't love anyone because it's not fair to anyone who loves me back.

In 2020, I lost my soulmate. He was diagnosed with bipolar affective disorder but unfortunately did not get the treatment he needed.

In 2024, I was diagnosed with bipolar affective disorder. I am getting the treatment I need and having a support system around me that allows me to heal at my own pace.

But not everyone gets to have their own happy ending.

The suicide of my ex-boyfriend left an irreversible impact on me. I was also bullied by our mutual friends, blaming me for what happened with him. I was most certainly at the lowest point of my life.

I remember vividly the day I was told the news by our principal, walked downstairs to the scene where it was barricaded, police everywhere. I had to stumble my way to the train station, falling midway just to let out a sob that I was holding in.

Ever since what happened, whenever I read the book, I think of myself as Violet, losing her loved one to suicide because of bipolar. But now my perspectives have shifted, I sometimes wonder, I may be Finch in reality.

Finch was a wild spirit, loving to wander, teaching Violet step by step to walk out of her trauma of losing her sister in a car accident.

But in learning all that, I missed seeing Finch, I missed seeing that he was in pain.

My ex-boyfriend made me slowly open up my heart since my last relationship that ended terribly, he taught me to love, love others and myself, that I am worth something. I was a fire ignited, a lightning strike that revived his heart, and I was his soulmate.

But I missed seeing that he was in immense pain, he was broken in a way that he thought he couldn't be saved. He sent me two messages before he jumped, and were shortly deleted afterwards. Were they a call for help? A last declaration of love? Or he hated the fact that I couldn't help him the way he helped me?

I would never get my answer.

Finch left a quote that will be forever engraved in my heart,

You are all the colors in one, at full brightness.

Violet and I can be. As long as we look in the right direction. As long as we look in our direction.

Finch and Hedy were in pain, but helped us overcome the pain that we were going through, guiding us down the right path, even though theirs ended way earlier than it should have.

But we remember moments, and those moments will stick with us forever.

The thing I realize is that it’s not what you take, but it’s what you leave.

Leo New Moon August 2024

The Leo New Moon on August 4th kicks off a new lunar cycle, giving us fresh new energy to work with and a fresh perspective.

Leo New Moons are a time to encourage playfulness and lighten whatever is feeling heavy on our hearts. They are an opportunity to celebrate the inner light that lives within and remember that we are here to play, experience, and find joy, especially in the simple things.

The lightness of the Leo Moon is amplified this year by Jupiter, which is making a harmonious alignment and reminding us to focus on the brighter side. Jupiter is the great expander, and while the New Moon may also expand or touch on challenges that we are facing, it is likely we will see them with a silver lining or perhaps a new, broadened perspective.

The Leo New Moon Brings the Medicine We Need

Chariklo, the asteroid of Spirit Medicine is also activated under the 2024 Leo New Moon. Chariklo is known as the wife of Chiron, the asteroid of the wounded healer. She carries a very similar energy, but she reminds us to step into our healing gifts through our intuition and mother nature.

She reminds us that our “medicine” can be found not just in nature, but also deep within our hearts. She reminds us that the tonics we are searching for live within us, and can be created and cultivated by us when we dig a little deeper or choose to recognize the healing powers that live within.

Chariklo can guide us to find the perfect medicine, whether it be a drug from our doctor, a walk in nature, or a herbal medicine. Chariklo will guide us to what we need, so stay open to her messaging. If you are walking a healing journey or looking for healing answers, Chariklo will be on your side this New Moon.

Allow yourself to get still and listen to the wisdom she has for you. Know that when it comes to Chariklo, healing is a journey and not a destination. It is a constant process of ebbing and flowing, and listening to our bodies and what they need.

Under the New Moon, pay attention to your body’s signs and clues. Observe any symptoms or anxieties as messengers that need to be heard. Be at peace with yourself, and allow Chariklo to guide you to the medicine you need.

The Leo New Moon asks for Patience

Mercury, the planet of communication and our thought processes, is going to station retrograde shortly after this New Moon on August 5th. Having the New Moon and Mercury Retrograde so close together can heighten its effects.

Under a Mercury Retrograde, we may feel more confused or perhaps find ourselves moving in mental circles. We may be trying to make decisions with only part of the information present to us. The trick with Mercury Retrograde is going within and trusting our inner voice rather than listening to the voices of the world around us.

Even our own voice can be riddled with guilt, past traumas, and shame, and can influence what we truly need to be doing. Our inner voice: our quiet, still, voice of the heart can become stronger under a Mercury Retrograde. If we slow down and silence our inner critic, we can begin to hear a softer truth, and a more powerful way of being can emerge.

There is a power in us all, which is often blocked by insecurities, fears, and our past conditioning. Mercury Retrograde helps us to look past all of this. Yes, it is known for bringing trickery, mishaps, miscommunications, and contract disputes, but its true power lies in guiding us to listen to our inner voice and owning that power. When we do, we can learn to use Mercury Retrograde in a proactive and powerful way, rather than seeing it as a nuisance.

Mercury Retrograde is also a good time to go back over the past and revise, which is interesting as the New Moon encourages us to do the opposite. It wants us to leave the past in the past and look ahead to what new beginnings are opening up for us.

Under the Leo New Moon, there may be a bit of push-and-pull between these two ideas. We may want to launch ahead into the new, but there are perhaps some loose ends we need to tie up first. Maybe we feel like we have one foot in the new, but one still in the old, and that’s okay. Trust in the process, and don’t be afraid to revisit and clear the past before moving ahead.

The Leo New Moon Activates a Spiritual Rebirth

Shortly after the New Moon peaks, we also celebrate the Lion’s Gate Portal, which brings the rising of Sirius. The portal gets its name for it was at this time of year, that Sirius would rise and align over the paws of the Sphinx of Egypt. As Sirius reached this position in the sky, it was said that higher wisdom and light codes could be received and ancient wisdom would arise in the hearts and minds of the people.

It is not clear if Sirius aligns in this position anymore due to the tilt of the Earth, but we celebrate the portal to honor the rising of our spirit and the rebirth of our own soul. Sirius is considered our spiritual sun, so as it rises again, we too can rise along with it.

The New Moon opens us to this gateway, and reminds us of the magic that we have inside. The Universe is a massive, forever expanding place and we are all part of it. We are all part of the magic, and perhaps it is moments like these that we can be reminded that we are stars, we are the moon, and we are connected to all and everything.

I know that I love to always gather new information for my grimoire, and so I wanted to share this challenge with you.

For the entire month of January, complete one of these activities every day in your grimoire. If you have already completed the question, expand on the information you already have!

Zodiac - Beginner: What are your zodiac signs? (sun, moon, ascendant, etc) Advanced: How do each of your zodiac signs affect you? What is another type of zodiac (eg. Chinese, Celtic), and what is your sign there?

Personal Beliefs - Beginner: State 5 things that you believe to be true about the universe. Advanced: What are your beliefs on creation? On karma? On dieties? On planes of existence? Be detailed.

Practices - Beginner: What are 5 different spells or rituals that you've been looking forward to try? What are the ingredients? Advanced: How did your last 5 spells go? Did you get the results that you wanted? How can you improve your practices in the future?

Types of witchcraft - Beginner: What are 10 different types of witchcraft? Which of those appeal the most to you? Advanced: What types of witchcraft do you not follow? Are there any that you haven't researched?

Crafts - Beginner: What is knot magick? What is something you could make with this magick? Advanced: How can you incorporate knot magick into your everyday life? (eg. doing hair, bed routine, fiddling)
