2023: The year that was..

Started off with leaving the company I was with for the past 12 years and moving to a more complex and challenging environment way outside my comfort zone. From celebrating the small wins of adapting to the strenous conditions at work to the big one - getting my own house (at long last!).

From cutting off unnecessary people in my life (one who couldn't value time and the other who was only my friend for the money) to reuniting with my old man, completely leaving our troubled past behind. There were some hellos and too many goodbyes-the most painful one was the death of my dog. We still miss him everyday but I try to find comfort in knowing he's just lounging around on the rainbow bridge waiting patiently for us like he always does.

There were the usual ups and downs, decisions both good and bad, and through it all I decide to never dwell in regrets. I'm thankful for the friends that became family and my son who acts like a grown up most of the time (lol). Life is never easy, but the key is to just roll with the punches, be kind and look out for each other.

P.S. To the person I have to leave behind: I know apologizing will never be enough but I sincerely wish you find your own li'l piece of happiness someday.

So my wife Dani had a year! Here is her thoughts on it:

"✨ This is going to be a really long post✨

As I reflect on 2023, I realize what a wild year it’s actually been. This year has had its ups and downs. I started the year by changing careers and leaving a workplace I was comfortable at for over 15 years to try something new. I didn’t know how it would turn out, but I had to take the chance. It was a really scary decision but now, a year later, looking back, I made the right decision for myself.

There have been a lot of celebrations this year too. We celebrated so many birthdays and milestones. I attended conventions and parties. I traveled across the country to go to a music festival in Las Vegas and while we were there we got commemorative tattoos. I got to see the Chihuly ceilings in the Bellagio that I have dreamed about seeing since I was little. I did small things like go to karaoke and dinner parties and stayed out all night.

This year was also one of the hardest years of my life. We lost a beloved family member. I got sick at the end of July and fought for my life until I finally was able to have surgery in October. During this time my family and friends really stepped up to make sure that I knew I was loved and taken care of. My husband really stepped up to the plate and did everything that he could to try and get me healthy again. He made sure I was medicated on time every single day and I know that my being sick was just as hard on him as it was on me. While I was sick, my cat Jujube passed away. When I say, those almost 4 months were rough, I mean they were life-altering rough.

It wasn’t all bad though. After the surgery, I was really able to start building up strength again and had a renewed lease on life. I felt better than I had in years (and still do). My body had changed, but so had my mind. Something happens when you fight for your life. Every day becomes precious and you don’t want to miss a single moment. I’ve spent the last two months of this year really catching up on lost time. I’ve gone to as many events, trade shows, and get-togethers as I possibly could. I’ve spent a lot of quality time with my family and friends. I think I like this little life. I can’t wait to see what 2024 brings 💖🥰"

My 2023 in Fanfics

Thanks to @medusapelagia who always gives me a chance to enter in tag games :) I already said that I can acceed more easily to tumblr this year so I think I'll more active.

I have a little fics and many months without any post, but I'll try to put down my favourites. I started posting in April.

4. April - Although I participated to @mungroveweek, and I love the works I wrote, I'll choose the Munver short The miseducation of Jason Carver - 3552 - complete. Because who doesn't want to use a little smut?

5. May - I started a Harringrove series of little one shot ficlets about our sweet Californian lovers and I absolutely love it, I have a lot of ideas but no time to put them down... Harringrove series Harringrove droplets - 3 works so far - WIP

6. June - nothing. A lot of work for upcoming events

7. Juy - another smut for @eddiemunsonbingo, I love it because I wrote it at the beach in a single afternoon! Mungrove Jailbird - 1415 - complete

8. August - the entire series Sweet Pie I wrote for @mungrovebingos, I tried to put all the prompt together in a series. It slowly converted in a Metalsandwich. Sweet Pie - 8 parts - complete. BTW my favourite is the Prologue.

9. September - It's difficult to choose between the few ficlets I posted (I like ficlets, but my mind pushes me to infinite word count XD) but I'll choosethe Steddie The last campaing - 999 - complete

10. October -I have just one fic posted in October but it happens to be one of my favs, althogh I think I can revise it and make it better. For @kinktober, prompt Lingerie, Harringrove The glimpse - 2621 - complete.

11. November - I like all the fics I post in November! But finally I choose a sweet little Harringrove A little Sweat - 1347 - complete.

12. December - for December is realy difficult as I participated to a few exchanges and I like all the fics I exchanged with my fellow authors! I'll choose two fics, one from my first real Big Bang published, for @st-rarepairbang, a Bommy (Billy/Tommy) Hot fot teacher - 13453 - Complete; And the fic I wrote for Steddie One-shot Exchange Pretty Big Boy (Pretty woman AU) - 10497 - complete.

I have other two Big Bang ready to go in 2024 and a few project, but I wish I could concentrate more on not-event works! I as usual leave here a few non pressure tag, feel free to complete the list if you see this post! @artaxlivs, @eriquin, @dragonflylady77, @jad3w1ngs, @ihni
