@grbambi63's theory really made me peek into Daimler's 2018, 2019, and 2023 annual report to see the difference between Zetsche's management to Kallenius' management.

This isn't just some move that Kallenius added just because he loved saving some pennies but it might be due to the chaos that happens in his first year as a CEO. I am going to highlight two major events here.
1) Diesel Emission Scandal
In the beginning of 2018 (Zetsche's term), Daimler was accused of having shit devices on their control software for their US products but they denied this allegations. Then it was reported that the US authorities were investigating them for diesel emission cheating scandals.
In June 2019, Daimler had to recall 60,000 Mercedes diesel powered cars in Germany, the model affected is the Mercedes-Benz GLK 220 SUV produced between 2012 and 2015, the car is fitted with software aimed at distorting emissions tests. And during the same year, Daimler was fined 870 million euros in Germany for "negligent violation of supervisory duties" in relation to not fully complying with emissions regulations. In 2020, they had to pay $2.2B in settlement.
The scandal got serious actually as "The Daimler boss is also putting the german federal government in trouble. It has its back against the wall internationally because of the fraud committed by its flagship industry. US President Donald Trump has targeted Daimler in the trade dispute and threatened that he no longer wants to see Mercedes cars on Fifth Avenue in New York" source
This crisis ironically started at Zetsche's management but the peak of the case was handled during Kallenius' early stage of leadership 💀💀💀 (I FELT BAD FOR HIM NGL LMAOOO)
2) COVID 19
Do you think Kallenius' trials decrease after his first year? No. COVID-19 happens. They still profit as they are THEE Mercedes but sales were slow at one point. Kallenius and other executives had to take pay cuts due to COVID and even before, COVID he also had to struggle with Daimler's stocks dropping drastically while having to deal with the lawsuit and satisfying the investors. Looking at how they have interesting differences as CEO. Kallenius is definitely all about cost efficient and maybe this was due to the crisis he felt in 2021 and as a preparation for Daimler's future ventures in focusing more about EQs

Just a personal thought from me, but what if the reason Kallenius was pissed at LH in 2021 is caused by all these financial wrecks Mercedes are in during these years? They were hit again and again. To add that, Kallenius is very adamant on his cost efficient and cost reduction objectives after these hardships. And at that time, just after 2020, LH demands a raise. A raise from a company who is literally in the trenches fighting for a surplus and good result from all the legal battles they're in and COVID that caused the board members and employees to get paid cuts. Maybe this was what pissed Kallenius off? Because at that time, Mercedes wasn't doing so well and suddenly, LH asked for pay raise to a guy who is very set and clear about saving every pennies 😭😭 That must've pissed the hell out of him. I'm not saying Lewis is wrong but kinda 💀💀 to think that the butterfly effect from that moment of their contract negotiation in 2021 to what is happening rn in 2024 💀💀.
If that is true then Zetsche is the catalyst for the butterfly effect happening rn:

Brazil going green amid US$8bn local electric vehicle production plans

Brazil is turning the page toward electric vehicles (EV) with nearly US$8 billion in private sector investments aimed at kicking off the production of new EV models and their components on Brazilian soil. 
In addition to new EV models from traditional legacy brands such as Audi (Q8 e-tron), BMW (iX1, i7), Chevrolet (Bolt), Fiat (500e Abarth), Ford (Mach E), Mercedes Benz (EQE SUV), Renault (Megane E-tech) coming to the Brazilian market in 2023, three automakers will actually be producing EVs locally in the country in 2024. 
While US-based Argentine owned BMC (Bravo Motor Company) is investing US$5bn in local production, Chinese automaker GWM (Great Wall Motors) is injecting some US$2bn toward production, and its Chinese counterpart BYD (Build Your Dreams) is investing approximately US$600mn, the latter two taking place in existing factories.

A procura elevada por veículos topo de gama também marcou 2022: foi o melhor ano de sempre de vendas da Mercedes-Maybach (+37%) e as entregas do Classe S subiram 5 %.

A marca de automóveis de luxo mais valiosa do mundo terminou 2022 com um último trimestre forte a nível de vendas, com o fornecimento de 540.800 veículos ligeiros de passageiros Mercedes-Benz (+17%) e um aumento das vendas de veículos topo de gama e veículos elétricos. O período de outubro a dezembro marcou o melhor trimestre de 2022 dos veículos topo de gama com um aumento das vendas de 14% graças à elevada procura na maioria das regiões, apesar da continuação das medidas de combate à COVID, da escassez de semicondutores e dos estrangulamentos logísticos ao longo do ano.

Forte crescimento nos topo de gama
As vendas no segmento topo de gama cresceram significativamente no quarto trimestre em 14% para as 83.800 unidades, resultando no melhor trimestre para este segmento em 2022. Os principais impulsionadores no quarto trimestre foram as vendas da AMG (+28%), Mercedes-Maybach (+25%) e do Classe G (+15%). A Mercedes-Maybach atingiu o melhor ano com a venda de 21.600 unidades (+37%). Este crescimento foi suportado principalmente pelos fortes desempenhos no Japão, Coreia do Sul, Médio Oriente e especialmente na China, onde a Mercedes-Maybach forneceu mais de 1.100 unidades por mês.

As vendas do Classe S aumentaram para mais de 90.000 unidades, um aumento de 5% face ao ano anterior. Além disso, o EQS conseguiu atrair novos clientes para o segmento topo de gama. Depuis que BMW et Porsche ont prouvé, avec le X5 et le Cayenne, que les gens aiment s'asseoir en hauteur dans des voitures qui ressemblent à des tout-terrains mais qui se conduisent et se sentent comme des voitures de luxe, l'essor des SUV ne s'est jamais arrêté.
Alors que nous nous dirigeons vers les voitures électriques, l'un des avantages des SUV est que leur hauteur de caisse et leur carrosserie sont idéales pour dissimuler une batterie encombrante sans trop compromettre l'espace intérieur.
Avant d'aller plus loin, fixons d'abord quelques règles de base. Qu'est-ce qu'un SUV et en quoi diffèrent-ils des crossovers ? Par souci de commodité, nous éviterons donc ici les hatchbacks, les crossovers et les SUV du segment C tels que le Kia Niro EV et la Smart #1. Nous les traiterons séparément dans notre liste des meilleures voitures électriques de taille moyenne.
Il reste donc beaucoup de voitures, et une Skoda Enyaq à 38 970 € n'est pas exactement comparable à un SUV Mercedes-Benz EQS à 153 795 €. Nous les avons donc classées en fonction de leurs qualités spécifiques, telles que la plus amusante, la meilleure autonomie, la plus confortable, etc. Voici donc, sans ordre particulier, nos SUV électriques préférés.
Les meilleurs SUV électriques
Kia EV9 - Meilleur pour l'espace intérieur et la praticité
Si vous cherchez un SUV électrique plutôt qu'une berline ou une voiture à hayon moins chère, plus efficace et plus maniable, c'est probablement parce que vous recherchez beaucoup d'espace. Peu de véhicules y parviennent mieux que l'immense Kia EV9.
 Le SUV Mercedes-Benz EQS le bat en termes de volume intérieur absolu, mais la Benz est encore plus chère et l'espace qu'elle offre n'est pas aussi polyvalent. Lire aussi «Découvrez notre top 5 sur les meilleurs SUV électriques»
L'EV9 exploite mieux sa généreuse surface carrée grâce à une plus grande surface vitrée, des sièges qui se renversent et se replient plus facilement, et un compartiment à bagages à l'avant pour ranger les câbles. L'EV9 n'est pas non plus un simple vide sur roues.
Comme les Kia EV6 et Niro EV, l'EV9 est un véhicule électrique très bien équilibré à conduire. Les versions à deux moteurs offrent de bonnes performances, bien que le modèle à un moteur à venir soit probablement le meilleur de la gamme, tandis que les palettes au volant facilitent le contrôle du freinage régénératif.
L'EV9 est très élégant pour un SUV à sept places et offre un luxe, une efficacité et une autonomie honorables. Si vous cherchez quelque chose de légèrement plus abordable que le EV9 à 65 025 £, ou si vous n'avez pas besoin de sept places, nous vous orienterons vers le Skoda Enyaq ou le Tesla Model Y.
Fisker Ocean - Meilleure autonomie
La forme du SUV est loin d'être idéale pour l'aérodynamisme, mais certains constructeurs compensent le manque relatif d'efficacité en installant une énorme batterie. Si vous voulez le SUV électrique avec la plus grande autonomie, vous voudrez le Fisker Ocean, qui a une autonomie de 440 miles en version Extreme.
Le modèle Ultra, moins cher, promet une autonomie encore impressionnante de 429 miles. Nous n'avons pas pu effectuer d'essais approfondis de l'Ocean, mais ces deux versions sont équipées d'une pompe à chaleur standard et devraient donc conserver leur autonomie, même en hiver. Leur charge de 200 kW permet de recharger la batterie de 106 kWh en un temps raisonnable.

Pour le reste, l'Ocean est une voiture globalement agréable, pratique et sans chichis, facile à conduire et confortable parce qu'elle ne se préoccupe pas de l'attrait du conducteur.
Avec un prix de 50 900 £ pour l'Ultra et de 57 900 £ pour l'Extreme, l'Ocean semble être une bonne affaire comparée aux autres héroïnes à fort kilométrage. Une version encore moins chère est disponible à partir de £36,900 et peut encore revendiquer une autonomie WLTP de 288 miles.
Pour approcher l'autonomie de la Fisker, il faut dépenser beaucoup d'argent pour acheter une Polestar 3 (379 miles) ou une BMW iX xDrive50 (382 miles), mais ce sont deux SUV de luxe très arrondis avec une très grande autonomie. Maximiser l'autonomie en utilisant une grosse batterie, c'est bien, mais une batterie de grande capacité prend plus de temps à charger, et l'électricité n'est pas gratuite, surtout si vous utilisez des chargeurs rapides.
Il est préférable de trouver une voiture qui tire le meilleur parti d'une batterie plus petite en maximisant l'efficacité énergétique. Celle-ci est généralement exprimée en miles par kWh (mpkWh), par analogie avec les miles par gallon. En dehors du Royaume-Uni et des États-Unis, il est plus courant d'utiliser l'expression « kWh par 100 km ».
À l'heure actuelle, le champion incontesté de l'efficacité énergétique est Tesla. La version à moteur unique de la Model Y affiche une consommation de 4,0mpkWh et devrait s'en approcher dans le monde réel.
La version Long Range à deux moteurs est légèrement moins performante, avec 3,7mpkWh, mais reste très impressionnante. Bien entendu, la berline Tesla Model 3, plus basse et plus aérodynamique, fait encore mieux.
Le style intérieur et extérieur extrêmement minimaliste de Tesla ne convient pas à tout le monde, pas plus que l'expérience de conduite plutôt prescriptive, mais les qualités fondamentales de la Model Y sont indiscutables : elle est extrêmement spacieuse pour sa taille, d'un bon rapport qualité-prix, rapide et peut être agréable à conduire.
La Model 3, qui lui est étroitement liée, a récemment été mise à jour afin d'accroître encore son efficacité et d'améliorer le confort et l'ambiance intérieure, et ces améliorations finiront par s'appliquer également à la Model Y.

Si une Tesla ne vous convient pas, la Hyundai Ioniq 5 et la Genesis GV60 à moteur unique (elles ont des groupes motopropulseurs identiques) sont également très efficaces, tout comme la Skoda Enyaq et la Volkswagen ID 4 (elles aussi avec des groupes motopropulseurs communs), qui ont récemment bénéficié d'une amélioration significative de leur efficacité.
Si la Tesla ne vous convient pas, la Hyundai Ioniq 5 et la Genesis GV60 à moteur unique (elles ont des groupes motopropulseurs identiques) sont également très efficaces, tout comme la Skoda Enyaq et la Volkswagen ID 4 (là encore, des groupes motopropulseurs partagés), qui ont récemment bénéficié d'une amélioration significative de leur efficacité.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 N - Le meilleur pour le plaisir de conduire
Des SUV agréables à conduire ? Les VE sont-ils agréables à conduire ? Il faut le croire. Hyundai a attiré l'attention des amateurs de voitures lorsque ses premières berlines à essence, les Hyundai i20 N et Hyundai i30 N, se sont révélées excellentes dès leur sortie.
Hyundai semble bien décidée à perpétuer cette réputation de voiture de conducteur à l'ère de l'électricité avec la version hot de la Hyundai Ioniq 5.
La Ioniq 5 N ne se contente pas d'une suspension rigide et d'une puissance démesurée. Vous obtenez ces derniers, mais grâce à une coque renforcée, un véritable différentiel à glissement limité sur l'essieu arrière, des amortisseurs adaptatifs et le sens de l'humour des ingénieurs de Hyundai, elle est vraiment divertissante.
Il adore faire tourner la puissance, et si vous le souhaitez, il peut imiter une boîte de vitesses à six rapports et un moteur à essence.
Matt Prior, d'Autocar, a d��claré dans son compte rendu : « Je pense qu'il s'agit d'un modèle historique : « Je pense qu'il s'agit d'une voiture qui fera date. La première véritable voiture de conducteur de VE. Une voiture que l'on pourrait amener au Britain's Best Driver's Car i 2025 en étant sûr qu'elle sera performante.
Non pas parce qu'elle fait du bruit, mais parce que les réglages sont excellents et que l'ingénierie semble réelle.
Si la Ioniq 5 N est un peu trop hardcore pour vous, il existe d'autres options. La BMW iX3 semble un peu boiteuse sur le papier parce qu'elle n'a qu'un seul moteur, mais cela lui permet de se comporter comme une vraie BMW. Bien qu'il soit imparfait en tant que VE moderne, le Jaguar i-Pace reste également très amusant à conduire.
Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV - Le meilleur pour la conduite assistée
Mais que se passe-t-il si vous préférez que la voiture prenne en charge une partie de la conduite à votre place ?
Les voitures modernes, en particulier les modèles de luxe, sont bourrées de technologies de conduite assistée. Certaines d'entre elles sont manifestement inutiles et vous rendront fou si vous ne les désactivez pas, mais d'autres peuvent soulager le stress des trajets longs et ennuyeux.
BMW iX - Meilleure pour le confort de conduite et l'attrait du luxe
BMW continue d'utiliser le slogan « La machine à conduire ultime », mais comme les routes sont de plus en plus encombrées et que la vitesse est de plus en plus limitée, il semble que la définition de l'ultime soit en train de changer.
 Avec ses VE, BMW s'est transformé en un spécialiste du confort. La BMW i7 a remporté notre test de la voiture de luxe ultime et le même talent est évident dans la BMW iX, plus grande.
L'iX offre un raffinement et une conduite de classe mondiale, des performances instantanées et sans effort, ainsi qu'une autonomie honorable dans le monde réel. Par ailleurs, l'intérieur ressemble beaucoup plus à une grande BMW i3 ultra-luxueuse qu'aux berlines sportives que l'on associe volontiers à BMW.
C'est un environnement beaucoup plus lounge, avec des espaces ouverts, des formes douces et, dans certaines spécifications, une sélection de matériaux inhabituels mais plutôt séduisants. Assurez-vous d'opter pour la xDrive50, car la xDrive40 ne bénéficie pas de la suspension pneumatique et de l'autonomie de la voiture la plus chère, ce qui fait toute la différence.
En comparaison, les Mercedes EQS SUV et EQE SUV semblent plus ouvertement high-tech, mais ne sont pas tout à fait au même niveau de qualité de construction et d'éclat des matériaux.
Pour une voiture similaire à la BMW iX mais moins chère, la Genesis GV60 et la GV70 électrifiée ont un intérieur luxueux à l'ancienne, et la Lexus RZ est également très agréable à vivre (même si ses performances en matière de véhicules électriques sont plutôt décevantes).
Skoda Enyaq - Le meilleur pour ses capacités polyvalentes
Que faire si vous voulez un SUV électrique qui allie accessibilité, praticité, autonomie, facilité d'utilisation et de conduite ? Le Skoda Enyaq n'est pas une superstar dans un domaine particulier comme certaines des autres voitures présentées ici, mais c'est un fantastique véhicule polyvalent.
Lorsqu'il a été lancé en 2021, il a fait un meilleur usage de la plateforme MEB de Volkswagen que le VW ID 4 ou l'Audi Q4 E-tron qui l'ont précédé, et il a récemment bénéficié d'une série d'améliorations subtiles qui ont corrigé les quelques faiblesses qu'il avait.
L'Enyaq 60 est disponible à partir de £38,970, mais nous opterions pour l'Edition 85, qui dispose d'une plus grande batterie offrant une autonomie de 348 miles, et qui dispose de presque tous les équipements nécessaires de série. Le système multimédia, qui a été rafraîchi, a éliminé ses bogues et est maintenant très facile à utiliser.
Le capot court et l'arrière carré de l'Enyaq lui confèrent beaucoup d'espace intérieur. Le régulateur de vitesse adaptatif de série et les palettes pour le freinage régénératif rendent la conduite intuitive, tout comme le châssis, qui est équilibré et mature, même s'il n'est pas particulièrement divertissant.
La Tesla Model Y reste également excellente, et même si tous les Superchargeurs ne sont pas exclusifs à Tesla, certains le sont encore, et la technologie de planification d'itinéraire de Tesla contribue grandement à réduire le stress des longs trajets.
 Nous n'avons pas encore effectué d'essai approfondi de la Fisker Ocean, mais les premières impressions sont extrêmement prometteuses. Son rapport qualité-prix semble également remarquable.
