Engine Performance

This 2023 Expedition offers a standard twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that delivers between 380 and 440 horsepower, depending on which powertrain and trim level you choose. With the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package, this SUV can tow as much as 9,300 pounds, so bringing a trailer along for recreational outings should be no problem.

A 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission lends the vehicle smooth, quiet shifts at both low and high speeds, while the suspension system has been separated into both front and rear independent setups, giving the vehicle excellent handling, especially when cornering.

Off-Road Capabilities

For off-road journeys, Intelligent 4WD is available, which automatically optimizes the vehicle for challenging terrains, and to visualize the path ahead, there’s also an optional front-facing camera that sits within the grille.

With a spacious cabin that seats up to eight passengers, the 2023 Expedition is stylish and comfortable inside, with both two- and three-row designs to choose from. The SYNC 4 infotainment system offers not only a standard 12-inch touchscreen but also an available 15.5-inch one that’s the largest in its class. Movie lovers in the second row will love the available Dual-Headrest Entertainment System, which works with Amazon Fire TV, while music enthusiasts will be blown away by the premium 22-speaker B&O Unleashed Sound System.

The Edge’s safety features offer advanced technology as well, such as BLIS, a blind spot warning system that monitors for nearby threats on both sides of the vehicle or behind it. Pre-Collision Assist can sound a warning when you’re approaching other vehicles too quickly, while the Adaptive High-Beam Headlamps automatically adjust brightness when other vehicles are approaching or outdoor lighting conditions change.
