Hi just curious about these koumi L's you mentioned, all I've seen are W's (pixiv, tri and the ending of 2020 say hi) hate to break it to you but Mimi is practicaly the little sister Matt never had which parallels Koushirou practically being the younger bro Tai never had, prettty sure mimato never even crossed kakudou's mind once during the og, anyway, everyone should continue to ship what they like canon or fanon

That Koumi L comment was directed at the shipper making an absolute irrelevant ruckus in the replies of the original post, dragging not just Mimato but every other Mimi ship and some more. It was not directed at the hsip itself. But clearly you failed to understand that, just as all other Koumi shippers fail to understand basic decency and decorum that a fandom needs to maintain in order to follow: "everyone should continue to ship what they like canon or fanon".

Your dear ship's event mod is running around leaving weird comments on other ship week's content, and if you feel like chalking up one incident to benefit of the doubt, then do you wanna talk about this ⬇️

The dates for Mishiro Week (who tf even calls this ship that 🤣) are the exact same dates for Michi Week and then the mod is saying "because we're jealous of other weeks" (- that being a motivation to hold an event and not the fact that you cherish these two characters and their relationship enough to celebrate it is a lil sus in itself🫣 -) clearly implies that they want to one-up another Mimi ship even though Michi Week announced their dates well in advance? You're talking about keeping things peaceful in the fandom, but maybe you should preach that to your own choir first!!!

And it's just your luck that you could've chosen anyone in the Mimato fandom to send your silly rant to but you chose me 🥹🫶🏻 The one person on this hellsite who has done their PhD in Digimon Adventure Tri, certified by Toei Animation themselves lmao 😇

Content on a fanwork site Pixiv is considered a Win?? Then all the Mimato/Michi/Jyoumi/Taishiro/Koukari/Koura fanart on all fanworks sites are a Win too? Is that the logic you were going for, awww thank you 🫶🏻

And then let's talk about TRI! The series where Koushiro is checking Mimi out 24x7 like an object, he calls her egotistical/self centered for acting impulsively to save a friend - using the same wording that the mean girls in festival committee use (bully alert 🚨, he doesn't even apologise for doing that btw 🚩), only then shows up to stare at her in a cheerleader uniform, ignores all the concern that she shows for him despite him being rude to her and Meiko both and ends up having way more chemistry with Takeru throughout the series (KouKeru my beloveds 😍).

But it's important to mention the guy who does take a W for Mimi in Tri, JOU KIDO!!! He accepts Mimi for who she is, doesn't criticise her actions, understands that her aggressive love is filled with nothing but pure intentions, uplifts her mood when she needs it the most and showers her words of affirmation that eventually lead to Palmon's mega evolution. And for that he deserves a big squishy hug, which he gets from Mimi 🥰 Honourable mention for taking W's for Mimi in Tri will also go to Meiko, she becomes her ride or die in such a short time of knowing her because she sees Mimi for the kind soul that she is. She also deserves a hug, and she gets it from Mimi too 🥰

In Tri we also see Mimi refer to Taichi and Yamato as handsome (and she does ask Koushiro if he's interested in her cause she's cuter, man for someone with a lot of brains he sure does care only about her looks!🚩) She starts recording TaiYama the minute they get into that Ferris wheel, she and Taichi walk a lot of places together don't they, she and Meiko share a meal with Taichi and Yamato in the Odaiba Onsen must I go on ~ Please do a full rewatch to see how Koushiro proves he's not a good match for Mimi in Tri with his ficklemindedness~

Next up: The Reboot, my other lovechild, I kid you not worstie, me and the Reboot writers share the exact same braincells, like legit, in the entirety of the series run, the most worthwhile Koumi hint they gave was them sitting in a Garage together at the end 🤣 The amount of quality time she spent with Taichi on the other hand, chef's kiss, and the instant bonding with Jou where she could tease him from the minute they met, WOW A BIGGER CHEF'S KISS 😘

THE SIBLING PARALELL -omg where my Taishiro shippers at, will you guys take this slander sitting down? 😭

Listen worstie, Taichi and Yamato do not require sibling parallels because *news flash* THEY HAVE SIBLINGS WITH WHOM THEIR RELATIONSHIPS ARE FLESHED OUT THROUGHOUT THE SERIES LOL. Team Light, it’s been an honour. I didn’t expect you to get so much framing throughout the entirety of this reboot, but I feel blessed to have seen you being in sync one last time.

Hikari addressing Sora directly (!), Sora putting into words what they all already sense/know, Koushirou finishing Sora’s sentence. Plus, a little extra on Taiora being in sync later on as well, being the only ones to state that they can sense everything going back to normal.

Also, the last scene is probably just wish fulfilment on my behalf, but seeing how Koushirou is testing to open the gate to “a new world”, it’s pretty clear that Taichi would offer to be the guinea pig here. Since that’s basically what they’ve promised each other at the beginning of the series.

when i first made this account in 2020, i was a continent away from home, experiencing one of the harshest lockdown in the world, and struggling to survive my master's studies. watching digimon was one of my solitude, so i decided to jump into the community while channeling my hobby of writing and designing. you know i was never a consistent poster (and had gone m.i.a. too often lol) so i didn’t expect 1k followers. but despite the numbers, the most important thing is i feel welcomed in this old-but-gold community. i also make friends and i hope to cherish this friendship even though maybe later on i will be no longer active on tumblr.

Second, I was just joking, because tbh I don't mind falling in love with our Kou-boi. I love my guys nerdy like that (him having reddish fluffy hair and having SUCH a pretty face is just a very welcoming bonus. But I blame @seventeenlovesthree for giving him a smooth, lovable and sexy face in her Koushiro-art so that I fall harder and deeper pffftt).

Third, let me remind everyone that I think Taichi is shipable with the whole Digi universe, but that I basically do ship Koushiro with everyone ;p Taishiro, Koura, Koumi, Koukari, Yamashiro, Koukeru, Jyoushiro, Daishiro, Ioshiro, Miyashiro, Kouken, hell, I might as well ship OG!Kou with 2020!Kou. 2 weeks ago I guess, in the span of 24 hours I wrote a Koumi, a Koukari and a Koura with implied Taishiro.

My Five:

1) Takari Week Day 7: Comfort OR Healing/Taking Care Of

Takari Week was the first Tumblr Week event that I got to be a part of and it was SO MUCH FUN!! I loved all of my responses but this one is my favorite; I’m partial to angst.

2) Knives Out Headcanon

This was another first. Do you guys ever watch something and think ‘imagine the Digidestined in *this* setting’? That happens a lot with me.. and I thought putting them in this movie’s universe was so “out there” but I love those kinds of ideas ;) 

3) "I’m never buying IKEA furniture again” (Koukari)

You know how you write a fic and you stop writing at the fluffy part because it was too cute to handle? Yeah, that’s what happened here. And it was amazing to see others feel the same way. XD <3

4) The Princess and the Dragon (Taiora, AU)

THERE WAS SO MUCH TAIORA (surprise, surprise) but I only wanted to choose one work. It was hard ranking my Taiora stuff personally LOL. But I’m going with this one because this one had hints of romance but was more about family love - Yagami siblings and of course, Papa Taichi and his baby girl <3

5) Effervescent Fires (Howl’s Moving Castle)

I hope to write more of this! I’ve been working on a fic about Calcifer. The idea of writing the story through the eyes of a cursed star/exasperated flame being is so fascinating to me. I can’t find the link to where I originally posted my excerpt (it was a few months ago but buried in the depths of Reddit, so I’m just going to post it under a cut. :D

The boy seemed to know this star's fate as he reached his arms up, holding out his palms for it to land. The star could tell as he settled with his gentle sparks leaving the boy's hands unharmed that this boy was no ordinary boy; this boy knew magic, and he could help him live.

The star could also tell that this boy wanted something in return. A contract? The star did not truly understand, but if it meant that he could avoid his fate for much longer, then he was willing to accept.

And so, with the boy’s inhale, the star was devoured and was met with darkness. It was a different kind of a falling, from all of the bright colors to none at all, until he stopped moving. After a moment’s pause, he felt a beat. A slow, steady tempo within him while his flames lit up in a soft blue.

The blue turned into bright orange as he flowed back out into the world and onto the boy’s palms once again. He was no longer a star on his way to the end; he was now a vivacious fire demon, entwined with the boy by the manner of his heart.

No words were spoken between them, but the fire gathered their introduction by contact.

The boy's name was Howl.

And his name: Calcifer.

i had to open my instagram and looked how my japanese friends named their account. i remember they rarely use their full names. instead, from what i learned, they often: 1) prolong some alphabets (like miiiiiyako), 2) use a lot of numbers, 3) also use repeated dots and underscores. idk whether this is true or not, but that’s just base on my investigation.

14 is taichi’s shirt number in da:2020

koushiro should’ve been born on 1989. i took @dutchforstrangers​​ headcanon where she said koushiro was born on august, hence 898.

1 in japanese is “ichi” - so you can read 1jouji as ichijouji.

also, sora’s username was created by mimi, and even though she’s kinda shy about it (“why do i have to blatantly use the word ‘love’?!”), she didn’t have any other username idea.

yes, takeru and hikari just love to tease each other and never really date. gah.

part 1 of lovers in japan series track-by-track commentaries;

since the beginning of june, i've been curating some songs that i think can be associated with my favourite pairs on my twitter. as the digiweek is coming and one of the prompt is "music" i was thinking to wrap them all into a playlist for each pair.

but... i end up having five playlists, and i don't think i want to put them all on digiweek because i actually have another fic entry for day 3. so i'm gonna save one for digiweek, another for a specific otp week (take a guess!), and the others for... well, day-to-day post like this.

you will find the playlist on my lovers in japan series. the name was taken from coldplay's song. please note that my playlists will not be arranged chronologically, so you will see the 'storyline' is kinda messy. i arranged them according to how i think the order of the songs will sound good in the listeners' ears, and trust me when i said i have listened to these playlists a million times to make sure that they do sound good.

please also note the songs may have different interpretations, and i know there's gonna be people who disagree with my song choices. as i'm also not that good at translating songs, this is just my take and 1) i can be wrong; 2) you may have a different take.

for this koukari playlist itself, the title and the subtitle are inspired from @skuag's koukari headcanon. ngl i'm so in love with sku's line about koushiro and hikari questioning things around them, and i put the line into this. i hope you don't mind! :D

onto the real commentaries now!

01. must have been the wind - alec benjamin

when i first heard the song, i thought it was about an attempt to save a girl from an abusive relationship/domestic violence. but generally, this song is also about being a friend to someone who isn't ready to talk about his/her own feelings, and that's how i think the dynamic between koushiro and hikari is. they will both be loyal and helpful no matter what to each other ("promise I'm not playing tricks on you, you're always welcome to come in. you could stay here for an hour or two if you ever need a friend").

the whole song mostly told about the girl refusing to talk, but in the last part of the song, it is also implied that the singer won't push her. koushiro and hikari are both very patient, so this song is perfect. another trivia is that this song is about two persons living in the same buildings and koushiro lives in the same apartment with hikari in da:2020 :D

02. venus - sleeping at last

this is just a general, sweet love song with a hint of scientific touch with astronomical metaphors. also, on the line "astronomy in reverse, it was me who was discovered" that i quoted above, i think it can also be interpreted how koushiro is always passionate about finding things, but then love comes and finds him instead.

03. hesitate - steve moakler

"i've always been the kind to contemplate but you like the kind that don't hesitate, so excuse me while i fall for you." yes. this line is just perfect for koushiro who is very polite and easy to get nervous, and i bet he's very nervous to start a new page full of love. also, i thought the first line when the singer says "the human heart is a scary part in fact" is koushiro-ish because it sounds somewhat biological, iykwim.

04. you can - david archuleta

i (maybe even most of us) often associate koushiro as someone who have no room for romance. even if he does, he will be very careful about it; talk about someone who is very conventional and believe in one true love/soulmate. so that's why when someone as wonderful as hikari comes in picture, he must be thinking this is worth the wait. 'cause if anyone can make him falls in love, she can.

05. livewire - oh wonder

livewire. electricity. koushiro. yes. however, this song is actually more from hikari's side. the first line, "i've been depending on the overgrown" is like her depending too much on taichi. "i've been pretending all my shots are blown, cover my heart up never let it show"—again, with the issue of concealing her feelings. "oh so heavy the water, falling down down deep down" ...well, somehow it fits the dark ocean, eh?

06. (they long to be) close to you - chord overstreet

so i really want to put this song no matter what because it's a simple, sweet, innocent love song—and gee, koukari is such an unproblematic pair! however, the carpenter's version has this line where it says "that is why all the girls in town follow you all around" and i think it's better to reverse the situation because... well, hikari is more popular than koushiro, right? the song can also be used for takari with the "so they sprinkled moon dust in your hair of gold and starlight in your eyes of blue" but the innocence is just screaming koukari for me.

07. take care of yourself - maisie peters

i think this is the most important song on this playlist. the whole song itself is like things that hikari wants to say to koushiro. i remember @seventeenlovesthree once said that koushiro is very lacking sleep, and we know it's because he keeps working and researching. we even see in tri how he couldn't take better care of himself, with messy workstations, fashion 101 with takeru, and that horrendous dark circles. and when someone told him to just take a rest, he would refuse—saying that the world was in danger and it's more important to save it.

please also highlight these two important lines, which can also be good for yourself:

"you don't get a medal for the last one awake"

"and i hate how you're going through hell when you've never let anyone else, so cut off a little slack and roll all your cavalry back"

08. bright - echosmith

similar to venus, this is just a simple love song with a dash of moon and planets in the refrain. also, remember that koushiro's first kanji in his name is hikari, which also means light (bright)!

09. love u - shye

this is similar to must have been the wind, except it's more of hikari's point of view. koushiro is someone who's also struggling to reveal what he feels, but hikari won't ever push him and wait until he's ready. also, i've mentioned before in my headcanon that hikari texts koushiro more often, but once he gets busy, she will not disturb him and just patiently wait until the morning follows. this song is the perfect description.

bonus track: there are many ways to say i love you - sylvan esso

at this stage, you may probably know the general theme of this playlist is koushiro and hikari loving each other very subtly. i often said that they are not the type of couple who says 'i love you' blatantly, and this song is a conclusion on how they profess their love to each other!

Digiweek Day 7 - Free day | TAIORA DISCORD ANNOUNCEMENT!

It's the 1st of August, Odaiba Memorial Day and @digiweek is coming to an end. So this day I would like to end Digiweek and celebrate the 1st of August with a little bang...

As some of you might know we are currently building a Taiora Discord server. It's not open yet, we want to be prepared in the best way possible and I can tell you: we're on our way! And it's gonna be awesome! :D

This way we would like to announce we have our minds set on opening up the server in 5 weeks from now! Mark it down in every calendar you own: SUNDAY 5TH OF SEPTEMBER 12AM (GMT+1)!

Yes, the server will be mainly Taiora focused, but you don't have to be a ride or die Taiora-shipper or whatsoever to join. Every multi-shipper (yes for taishiro, sorato, michi, sokari, taikeru, jyoura, taisuke, sorako but also takari, mimato, jyoumi, koukari, koumi, daikeru, kenyako and so onnn), every poly-shipper (taiorato, taikoura, taiorami :D), every 30+ years old-shipper, hell, even every non-shipper (who does appreciate the Taiora ship or either Taichi or Sora or is still figuring out the wonderful world of digi-shipping) is welcome. How, in Kizuna, both Yamato and Taichi know what Sora is up to and even though Taichi and Sora grew apart, they still have a special connection that's here to stay forever and shouldn't be left unsaid

Also, a little note and disclaimer: I can see people percepting this post as a Taiora-shipper heavily vouching for romantic!Taiora and bashing Sorato. Interpret it however you like, but just know that's not how I approached this meta. It's Sorato-friendly and Sorato-appreciative. Sure, it gives reasons for romantic!Taiora to have potential in canon, but it's mostly directed on how I see the -platonic- connection between Taichi and Sora and how it's portrayed in the Kizuna movie.

That being said, I do not own Digimon and therefore this is my view on it. I also didn't read the Kizuna novel, so everything not compliant with the novel is due to that. Anyway, happy readings!

Who remembers the Digimon movie Diaboromon strikes back probably knows how Sora is not present during the fight because she's on the tennis club trip. Or actually on her way back. We learn about this, because Koushiro asks where Sora is and Yamato -being her boyfriend obviously- is the only one who knows the answer. Cute boyfriend, truly!

In the Kizuna movie we see a little call back to this particular scene when Yamato and Taichi are eating together and talk about what all the others are up to (and how they seem to be the only ones who have no clue about their future yet. I feel that, unlike Koushiro I didn't run a freaking tech company at 21??!!! Seriously, who does that?!). Taichi sums up all the 01 Chosen Children + Daisuke, except for two: Takeru and Sora. Of course Yamato knows what Takeru is up to, so Taichi leaves that for Yamato to tell.

As for Sora... I think that's a bit harder and I've been thinking about this since the first time I saw it. Especially after I saw this post floating around on my dash every once in a while (and yes the Taiora-shipper in me wants my Taiora-heart to be soothed BUT this is not the main reason, believe me) and I just think Yamato isn't the only one who knows. Now let me try to explain myself.

TAIORA SHIPPERS UNITE

Last week this very sweet Anon found my Tumblr filled with my never ending courageous love for Taichi and Sora, a.k.a. Taiora <3

Anon asked me about a possible Taiora Discord server. It got me thinking and I’m ready to do an experiment! Because Taiora deserves all the love it can get.

Here’s the deal:

I’m a team player, a brainstormer and dislike working solo. Besides, I’m an ‘on-the-go learner’. So I’m looking for a maximum of 10 Taiora shippers/lovers/likers who want to figure out the wonderful world of Discord with me and build a Taiora server together. This will be for a maximum of 2 months. 

Together we can make up the terms/rules/guidelines, channels, roles, et cetera. To me it’s important to create an open and safe space!

We can try some of the features, maybe divide roles (because I don’t feel like moderating this thing all by myself...) and so on. This way I/we can prepare ourselves properly before we open it up to a wider audience!

If you’re interested in taking part in the experiment group/builders group you can send me a message here! I haven’t figured out how to send invitations or how to add new members to a server in Discord yet, so if you do know how to please let me know haha!

sa • ku • ra: what can i say? it’s my otp, first of all, and although the topic is very sensitive, i think i managed somehow. at least i have to appreciate myself for being brave and write something a little bit out of my comfort zone.

an early visit: because koukari needs more love [!!!] i just love the subtleness between the two of them. it’s very natural somehow. they never really mentioned about koushiro’s real parent on the series, so i decided not to explicitly write the surname. but it has been my long-time headcanon that koushiro the diligent son will always clean his parents grave every obon.

a walk home: i’m super into this fic because it’s my first time writing about hiroaki’s relationship with his child!! tbh i’m not really confident about writing a child character because i feel like i have lost all my youth innocence (HAHAHA???) but i think i did chibi!takeru just right.

iridescent sugar clouds: FIRST DRABBLE HERE! have to give a little credit because it’s sort of my first english drabble (i think i wrote hdylyst before this, but anyway...). you can’t just hate taichi being goofy to sora, right?

when i wrote this story, i just realized that we’re lacking the interaction between sora/hikari and mimi/hikari :< i wish da: 2020 will highlight the digigirls relationship somehow. anyway, this was set as an intro for the movie digimon hurricane landing!! where takeru and hikari visited mimi in new york. i don’t know how the hell did taichi even agree to that lol. and yes, this is actually implies takari!

also, this work imply the mini-drama where koushiro wrote a love letter and only hikari knew who was it for GASP KOUKARI MOMENT. mimi thought it was for her, but i assume it was just for other girl. their classmate, probably? you can watch it here (i only found the spanish subs video, but there were english transcripts around the web) (and fyi mimato fans, this drama is probably the only moment where we can hear that mimi knows yamato likes her... but so do the other boys.)

There were only the two of them sitting at the Tachikawa’s porch that summer night, just in front of the widely open door. Takeru was having a shower, while Mimi’s parent was out for an event. Hikari could feel the jetlag creeping in after a long flight from Tokyo to New York, but she refused to sleep first—at least not before Takeru was also ready to go for a rest—and it happened that Mimi was seeking for an extra pair of hands to help her with the nail polish.

“So how’s the flight?” Mimi began the conversation. “Do you know that the route once named as the longest flight ever? Koushiro-kun told me that.”

“Tiring, no wonder,” Hikari smiled slightly. “But it was quite a smooth flight—I kinda enjoy it. Although we got the back rows, we had the seats by the window so I was able to look at the sky. The changing colors was so great on camera.”

“And?”

Hikari slightly frowned. “And?”

“That’s it? Nothing else?”

“Err… the food was good?”

“You guys got the seats by the window on the back of the plane. I fly often enough to know that it’s a pair of seats instead of three.”

“So…?”

“Did something happen between you and Takeru-kun? Did he sleep in your shoulder? Oh, oh! Or was it the contrary?”

The second after Hikari realized the direction Mimi was trying to carry her, her cheek flushed. “Wh, what are you talking about?” she laughed rather nervously. Off-the-record, it was Hikari who fell asleep accidentally on his shoulder. “We’re just friends.”

The answer triggered a deep scowl on Mimi’s face. She yanked her both hands abruptly—which almost made Hikari painted her own inner wrist with cotton candy-colored lacquer—and used it to grip Hikari’s shoulder firmly. “Listen. Usually, I would return your words and say, ‘oooh, but I didn’t say anything about being more than friends,’” she raised her pitch particularly for her made-up sentence. “But this has gone too long and I’m sick of it. You guys are crazy about each other and you know it.”

It was a perfect bullseye that Hikari’s first instinct was to dodge it. “N, no way!”

Mimi sighed in exasperation. She forcefully shifted Hikari so that they looked at the inside of the house—eyes darting specifically to the direction of the bathroom. “What if Takeru-kun gets out of the shower topless, only with his boxer briefs or even a towel, looking like Adonis in a fresh smell of my father’s patchouli and mint soap?”

No matter how hard she resisted, Hikari had already pictured such a view in her imagination, and she was a terrible liar to start with. “I, it’s just wrong, okay?” she uttered with a flushed face. “He’s my childhood friend!”

“—and also a very fine man,” Mimi rephrased. “Hikari-chan. If you keep denying the feeling, some girls will snatch him in front of your eyes and I can guarantee you that you will never meet a better man than him.”

Hikari swallowed each of Mimi’s words a bit hard. She pushed a cough to get rid of the uneasiness. “O, oh! How about you, Mimi-san?” Again, she tried her best to avoid the spotlight. “No one attracts you in particular?”

“Eh? Hum….” It wasn’t expected that Mimi actually fell for that lousy trap. “Koushiro-kun has been the most interesting, but then he wrote a love letter to a girl who wasn’t even prettier than me.” She pouted. “Yamato-san is with Sora-san already. Jyou-senpai’s more like an older brother, so… I guess it’s between Michael and Taichi-san? Ah! How about I seduce your older brother so that he will get distracted and you can go on with Takeru-kun?”

“Bu, but—!”

The bathroom door was finally opened. Takeru emerged from the bathroom wearing a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. Instead of his waist, a towel was hanging around his neck and he used one of the ends of it to dry his hair. Hikari wasn’t sure about the faint smell that lingered through, but he was stunning even after just finished taking shower, nevertheless.

As if he felt someone was watching, Takeru turned his head to the porch. “What are you girls doing outside?”

Hiding her face, Hikari gazed down on her lap, while Mimi squinted, totally not amused with the outcome. “Why are you even wearing clothes, for God’s sake?!” 

Takeru was left blinking in confusion.
