source: "proust questionnaire: charles leclerc" (now deleted) format: interview season: f2, 2017
What is your greatest fear? Charles: Snakes! They’re scary!
When do you lie? Charles: I really rarely lie: I hate lying. Probably when my trainer asks what I ate for dinner! [laughs]
What do you most dislike about your appearance? Charles: My hair: it’s always such a mess to get it right!
What is the quality you most like in a man? Charles: In a man I don’t really care! [laughs] My friends are mostly funny, so I’ll say funny: I like to laugh.
What is the quality you most like in a woman? Charles: I think it’s a mix between her looks and what she is inside.
Full text of now-deleted interview:
What is your idea of perfect happiness? Charles Leclerc: Racing on a circuit with a beach quite near.
What is your greatest fear? Charles: Snakes! They’re scary!
Which person do you most admire? Charles: My father. For many people the father is somebody who inspires you: he was a bit of an example for me since I was a child, and he went racing and taught me many things, so that’s probably the reason.
What is your current state of mind? Charles: Very happy! I won the championship with a race to go, we’re in Abu Dhabi and it’s a great place for a holiday! [laughs] It’s also a good place to race, and you can arrive with a bit less stress with the title in the pocket, so it feels good.

When and where were you happiest? Charles: Probably any time I’m on track and it goes well: Jerez was one of those moments, last year in Abu Dhabi as well. When you win a championship it feels amazing: you put a lot of dedication to win the title, and when you win a title there is so much happiness all around you as well, because obviously the team is very happy as well. It can sometimes be very short, but as short as it can be, it’s very intense happiness.
Tumblr media
Which talent would you most like to have? Charles: Playing football: I’m so bad at it! I’m actually quite good on the kick ups, on the technical side I’m quite fine, but any time I need to shoot in the goal it doesn’t go well…
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? Charles: I don’t know! It’s a question I’ve never really asked myself, and you can’t really change yourself. I’m definitely not perfect, and any time I see something in myself I don’t like I change it, but at the moment…
What do you consider your greatest achievement? Charles: I guess winning Formula 2. Every year you go a step up in your career, when it goes well anyway, so the last championship I have won is Formula 2, so I would say that.
Where would you most like to live? Charles: I am so happy with my city: Monaco is an amazing city. Probably the only 2 other places that I really enjoy going are here in Abu Dhabi, and I went this year for the first time to Los Angeles and it was an amazing experience: I loved it. I probably don’t see myself living either here or in LA: I have everyone in Monaco, it is a small town where everyone knows everyone else, so Monaco.
What is your most treasured possession? Charles: My Fiat 500! It’s from 1969, and it’s just a great car! [laughs] It’s so much fun, and it’s not so quick but it’s very fun to drive, and actually people look at you more than when you are in a supercar or something like that! It’s always very fun to go in it.
Tumblr media
What is your favourite occupation? Charles: It would be strange to not answer a driver!
What virtue do you most value in your friends? Charles: Honesty.
Who is your hero of fiction? Charles: Harry Potter: I’ve always been a fan when I was younger, and it has stayed with me! Okay, now a bit less, but if I have to pick one I will chose him because he is the one I followed: the movies I didn’t really like, but I was a huge fan when I was younger. And actually, many people say I look very much like him! [laughs]
Tumblr media
Which historical figure do you most identify with? Charles: That is very difficult to answer! I don’t know.
What is it that you most dislike? Charles: Arrogance! It just makes me angry, to see an arrogant person: I think there are no reasons to be arrogant. And I have been racing for 15 years: I know many people! [laughs]
What is your greatest regret? Charles: Probably to have not enjoyed the times with my father enough while he was here.
What is your motto? Charles: I have one, but I can’t remember! [laughs] It’s something like with no dedication you won’t have the results you want: I can’t remember it in English…

V8 Supercars teams chase Daniel Ricciardo for 2023 as Red Bull deal could open door for Aussie star
V8 Supercars teams chase Daniel Ricciardo for 2023 as Red Bull deal could open the door for Australian to make short-term return to his homeland  Garth Tander will not renew his deal with Triple Eight Race Engineering The team is owned by Red Bull, who have recently re-signed Daniel Ricciardo The eight-time Grand Prix winner will serve as the reserve driver in 2023  Supercars CEO Shane Howard said sport would 'roll out red carpet' for Ricciardo The Australian was axed by McLaren at the end of a dismal season  Click here for all your latest international sports news at Daily Mail Australia  By Dan Cancian For Daily Mail Australia Published: 09:22, 9 December 2022 | Updated: 09:22, 9 December 2022 Daniel Ricciardo could be in line for a sensational short-term switch to V8 Supercars next season after Triple Eight Race Engineering and Garth Tander surprisingly parted ways on Friday. The Red Bull-owned team said that Tander, a five-time Bathurst 1000 winner, had opted not renew his contract at the end of the season, just two months after triumphing at Mount Panorama alongside Shane Van Gisbergen. Team principal Jamie Whincup said the would speak with 'drivers both domestic and abroad to find the best fit to co-pilot' the number 97 car together with Van Gisbergen. Daniel Ricciardo could be in line for a sensational switch to V8 Supercars next year  He added the search for a replacement driver to share the seat at the Sandown 500 and Bathurst 1000 next year was already underway.  According to News Corp, Tander's unexpected departure could open the door for Ricciardo. The Australian doesn't have a seat on the grid for the 2023 Formula 1 campaign after splitting with McLaren at the end of a difficult season. The eight-time Grand Prix winner signed a deal with Red Bull to be their reserve driver next year and has vowed to secure a seat for 2024. The 33-year-old came through the junior ranks at Red Bull and raced for two years for the drink giant-owned Scuderia Toro Rosso - which has since rebranded to Alpha Tauri - before being promoted to Red Bull's main team.  Garth Tander (left) and Shane Van Gisbergen celebrate winning the Bathurst 1000 Team principal Jamie Whincup said Triple Eight Race Engineering were exploring several options to replace Tander ahead of next season  And his return to the Milton Keynes-based team could facilitate a switch to V8, as the energy drink giant's motorsport arms includes Triple Eight Race Engineering, which is branded as Red Bull Ampol Racing Supercars.  News Corp reported that Supercars have already sounded out Ricciardo about possible appearances at selected events in next year's championship. Fernando Alonso followed a similar path when he raced for McLaren in the Indianapolis 500 in 2017 and 2019, while under contract for the team's Formula One team.  Ricciardo will return to Red Bull next season as the team's reserve driver for 2023 In May, Supercars chief executive Shane Howard said the sport would be prepared to roll out of the red carpet for the former McLaren driver. 'If the opportunity presented itself to have Daniel on the grid as a wildcard or otherwise, we would absolutely want it to happen,' Howard told the Herald Sun. 'He is one of the best drivers and most recognised athletes in the world, it would be fantastic to have him race a Supercar at some point. 'We haven’t spoken to Daniel or his management and it would be in the hands of teams to align any opportunities that may present themselves in the future, but for sure it is something we would support.' Teams intro for The Edge Of Control (Part 1)
OK this is gonna be a big image post, brace yourselves! I’ve written mini biographies of the racing teams in my fictional F1 series: CONSTRUCTORS OF THE 2021 FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP: (in 2020 championship finishing order)
1. Silverstream Grand Prix
First Grand Prix: 1953 Based in: Frankfurt, Germany Team Principal: Victor Montcrieff (Swiss)
Drivers: #11 Marcus Harding (GBR) #54 Erik Jensen (NOR)
After disappearing from F1 after a fatal accident in 1958, German road car company Silverstream returned to F1 as a works team in 2010, having supplied engines to various teams since the mid-1990s. After spending their first four seasons as a midfield team, their domination of the turbo-hybrid engine regulations has seen Silverstream break numerous records across Formula One.
Silverstream are the current champions in Formula One, winning all but one of the championships held since 2014. Their star driver, Britain’s Marcus Harding, is now a five-time champion of the world, and looking to topple the all-time records of the legendary German, Stefan Richter. However, he has admitted to losing passion for the sport in recent years, and rumors are circulating that he’s considering retirement at the end of 2021. With no immediate replacement for Harding on the table and underwhelming teammate Erik Jensen unable to match Harding’s talent, Silverstream’s dominance could be in jeopardy…
Author’s notes: This team is pretty blatantly inspired by the Mercedes F1 team with some shifting of the dates, and the car remains silver unlike the modern Mercedes, which was black in 2020/21. Marcus Harding is based on seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, while Erik Jensen is a sort of combination between ex-McLaren driver Heikki Kovalainen and Hamilton’s recently departed teammate Valtteri Bottas.
Tumblr media
2. Scuderia Rossolini
First Grand Prix: 1950 Based in: Florence, Italy Team Principal: Roberto Persanni (Italian)
Drivers: #5 Daniel Albrecht (GER)  #36 Marco Bianchi (ITA)
Rossolini are without a doubt the most famous racing team in Formula One, and perhaps the entire world. When you mention the name Rossolini, it's hard not to picture the brand's trademark bright red supercars or their racing heritage, stretching nearly three quarters of a century across the history of motorsport. Founded in 1946 by the enigmatic ex-racing driver Enrico Rossolini, Rossolini has been a member of the Formula One grid for every single season in championship history, the only team to do so.  Rossolini’s competitive history has gone up and down with the history of the sport, but they remain the most successful team in F1 history, with 14 Constructors and 16 Drivers’ World Championships. After a recent midfield slump in the mid-2010s, they have remained at the front of the pack ever since. Often the only team dueling with Silverstream for the World Championship, they last won with three-time champion Daniel Albrecht in 2017.
The signing of Italian junior phenomenon Marco Bianchi made headlines in 2019, as the young hotshot subsequently won three races in his second F1 season and defeated the experienced Albrecht, who snapped back at the comments about his age with allegations of favoritism. 2020 did nothing to dispel the tension, and coming into 2021 the tension between drivers is so hot you could ‘could boil a kettle at room temperature’.
Author’s notes: Again, this is pretty obviously based on Scuderia Ferrari, right down to the red colours! The car in The Edge of Control is a full-body Rosso Corsa red (the famous Italian ‘racing red’) with the stripes of the Italian tricoloure. Daniel Albrecht is based on multiple drivers but he is closest to former Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel; Marco Bianchi is also based on several drivers but in terms of his role is closest to Charles Leclerc, current Ferrari driver.
Marco’s name comes from two drivers who were tragically killed in racing accidents; Italian MotoGP rider Marco Simoncelli, killed in Malaysia in 2011, and French Formula One driver Jules Bianchi, killed in Japan in 2014.
Tumblr media
3. Riedel Rennsport
First Grand Prix: 2005 Based in: Graz, Austria Team Principal: James Arnold (British)
Drivers: #51 Nicolas Theunis (BEL)  #90 Pietro Acosta (ARG)
Riedel Rennsport have certainly impressed the paddock in the short time they've competed in Formula One. After parent company Riedel Energy Sports decided the high-octane arena of F1 was the best place to market their energy drink and extreme sports products, they bought out the financially struggling Aurora Motorsport outfit at the end of 2004 and rebranded it for 2005.
The team stayed roughly in the midfield for their first few years, although after driver Johanna Klein's near-fatal, career-ending wreck in the 2006 Belgian Grand Prix, the team hired ex-Aurora driver, the Australian David Sharp, for 2007. Sharp had a reputation for incredible qualifying pace and an ability to outperform poorer machinery: Sharp eventually won the 2010 title as Riedel fought to the forefront of the grid.
In recent years, Riedel are focusing all their energy on their junior academy graduate: Belgian wonderkid Nicolas Theunis. Despite winning several races and breaking ‘youngest driver records’ everywhere, the team have failed to find a second driver good enough to match Theunis: always remaining a step behind Silverstream and Rossolini. They're hoping their new signing, veteran Pietro Acosta, will be up to the task.
Author’s notes: Riedel draws inspiration from multiple teams, but the most obvious is Red Bull Racing. Like Red Bull’s dark blue, Riedel’s dark purple and gold livery has remined pretty much unchanged. Nicolaus Theunis is a sort-of combination between Max Verstappen and former McLaren driver Stoffel Vandoorne, while Acosta is pretty much an original character.
(closest I could find to purple, just imagine that metallic purple on the entire car)
Tumblr media
4. MacIntyre Engineering
First Grand Prix: 1966 Based in: Wellington, New Zealand  Team Principal: Charles Quirke (New Zealander)
Drivers:  #8 Alan Worrall (AUS)  #27 Imogen Kane (GBR)
Technically, MacIntyre Engineering was founded far before 1965, in a shed in Renwick, a sleepy little town on the South Island of New Zealand. The headstrong and enigmatic William MacIntyre, or Will as he liked to be known, was a keen racing driver, and despite building his own modified car from scratch, amassed a modest collection of junior series racing trophies, including a win in the 1958 New Zealand Grand Prix, a non-championship Formula 2 event.
After success in Formula 1, MacIntyre founded and drove for his own team in 1966, and which won both titles in 1969 and 1971. MacIntyre remained at the front of the grid for much of the 1970s and 1980s, dominating the late 80s and early 90s with Brazilian driver Thiago da Silva. Despite world titles in the late 90s, the team endured a nearly a decade of championship drought under the dominant Rossolini team. Their last title came in 2008 courtesy of Marcus Harding; the team entered a crushing slump in the mid-2000s after a switch to the underdeveloped and slow Nippon engines.
However, there has been a slow resurgence to the top of the midfield in recent years as Nippon have majorly improved their engines. With Riedel race winner Alan Worrall signing alongside junior star Imogen Kane, the first woman of colour to win the F2 championship, MacIntyre may finally reclaim the championship crown. Author’s notes: MacIntyre takes most of its inspiration from the story of McLaren, F1′s legendary New Zealand founded team. As a kid who grew up with the legends of Bruce McLaren and his papaya orange ‘flying kiwi’ cars, I made sure to pay tribute with this bright orange team! Alan Worrall is based on one of my favourite drivers, Daniel Ricciardo, while Imogen Kane is another original character.
Tumblr media
5. Esprit Autosportif First Grand Prix: 1977 Based in: Lyon, France Team Principal: Archibald Painecure (French)
Drivers: #15 Julio Balcazar (ESP) #91 Jean-Pierre Gerard (FRA)
Esprit is one of France’s biggest producers of road cars, with the company building and selling an estimated four million cars a year. It was only natural that such a large and high-profile brand would compete in Formula One. Esprit’s early years were mostly characterised by the team’s introduction of turbocharged engines to F1. Esprit’s early turbocharged engines were very fast but incredibly unreliable, accounting for many spectacular explosions and crashes. They improved and were challenging for podiums and race wins by the early 1980s, but the death of their promising junior driver Remi Lacroix in 1985 caused the team to abruptly pull out of the sport mid-season.
Esprit supplied engines to the Chatillon team from 1994 to 2001, and finally purchased the team outright for the 2002 season. A gradual increase in pace from the midfield to the front saw the team winning the double championship with Spain’s Marc Navarro in 2005 and 2006. Esprit was also notable for being the first team to win a race with a female driver since 1995, when Italian driver Alessia Faverani won the 2004 Monaco Grand Prix.
Under new management, the modern Esprit team have risen from the back of the grid to be solid contenders in the midfield. Alongside young French driver Jean-Pierre Gérard, Esprit have brought Navarro out of retirement to contest the 2021 season. Time will tell if this move will improve the team's fortune, or ruin it.
Author’s notes: Esprit is based mostly on the real-life Renault, Ligier and Benetton teams and currently occupies the spot of Renault. Without the 2021 Alpine transition, the car remains the traditional banana yellow campaigned by Renault in racing disciplines world-wide. Jean-Pierre ‘JP’ Gerard is based on French F1 drivers Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly, while Marc Navarro is based on veteran world champion Fernando Alonso.

Watch out for Part 2 featuring the other five teams soon!

2021: Full-Time Drivers
Up to date as of 3/4/2021.
(Under a cut because this is going to be a looooooong post as usual)
(Yes I used last year’s official mugshots don’t @ me)
Sebastian Bourdais
Tumblr media
A four-time ChampCar champion, he has also raced in F1 for Toro Rosso and competed in both the 24 hours of Le Mans and the 24 hours of Daytona. One of the most experienced drivers on the grid. In the six seasons he has spent in Indycar, he has competed in 74 races, had six wins, and two poles. Last season he only raced in three events for A.J. Foyt Enterprises, and competed in the IMSA WeatherTech Series. This season he will race the 14 entry for A.J. Foyt Enterprises.
Scott Dixon
Tumblr media
No one really knows how he is so good at racing in Indycar. He is the defending champion going into this season and has a total of six Indycar championships and one Indy 500 title to his name. He has often been compared to Lewis Hamilton. In the 18 seasons he has spent in Indycar, he has competed in 289 races, had 49 wins, and 29 poles, and is one of the winningest drivers in Indycar history. This season he will continue to race the 9 entry for Chip Ganassi Racing.
Marcus Ericsson
Tumblr media
After competing in 97 races for the Sauber F1 Team, he signed with Chip Ganassi and began racing in Indycar. He will be starting his third full season in the sport. In his previous two seasons, he competed in 18 races and has one podium finish. He will continue to drive the 8 entry for Chip Ganassi Racing.
Jack Harvey
Tumblr media
He competed in many forms of racing prior to his Indycar debut in 2017 including British F3, GP3, and Indy Lights, and was the 2012 British F3 champion. Prior to 2020, he drove only part-time for Meyer-Shank Racing as they tried to find their way into the series full-time. In the four seasons he has raced in Indycar, he competed in 29 races and has one podium finish. He will continue to race the 60 entry for Meyer-Shank Racing in his second full season.
Colton Herta
Tumblr media
He staked his name in the history books by becoming the youngest Indycar race winner at COTA in 2019. The son of Brian Herta, he has quickly become a fan-favorite and a strong competitor. In his two seasons (plus the season finale of 2018) in Indycar, he has competed in 32 races, had three wins, and four poles. This season he will drive the 26 Andretti Autosport entry, taking over the car vacated by Zach Veach.
James Hinchcliffe
Tumblr media
A fan favorite, returning to full-time status this season. Makes a podcast with Alexander Rossi called ‘Off Track with Hinch and Rossi’. Has also competed on Dancing with the Stars and was a part time broadcaster for NBCSN. In his 10 seasons in Indycar, he has achieved six wins, 17 podium finishes, and one pole position. This season he will drive the 29 entry for Andretti Autosport.
Ryan Hunter-Reay
Tumblr media
Affectionately nicknamed ‘Captain America’, and the victim of an unfortunate sandwich meat ad campaign. He was crowned series champion in 2012 and became Indy 500 champion in 2014. He can often be seen on the grid with his two kids, often dressed in mini firesuits to match. In his 14 seasons, he has competed in 211 races, had 16 wins, and six poles. He will continue to race the 28 entry for Andretti Autosport.
Ed Jones
Tumblr media
Not a familiar face to new fans, but he’s done this song and dance before. He last raced in Indycar in 2018, and has raced previously for Dale Coyne Racing, Chip Ganassi Racing, and Ed Carpenter Racing. This will be his first official racing ride since the 2018 season. In his previous three seasons, he scored three podium finishes. This season, he will race the 18 car for Dale Coyne Racing with Vasser-Sullivan.
Dalton Kellett
Tumblr media
He is much less frightening than the above picture makes him out to be (I promise). He has worked his way up the Road to Indy ladder and made his Indycar debut last season, driving part time for A.J. Foyt Enterprises, while also competing in the IMSA WeatherTech Series. Makes a podcast called D2Speedcast. He competed in five races last season and his best finish was 20th at Road America (both). This season he will race the 4 entry for A.J. Foyt Enterprises in his first full season in Indycar.
Scott McLaughlin
Tumblr media
One of only two rookies on the Indycar grid this season (but can either of them really be called rookies?). He is a three-time Australian Supercars champion and raced for Team Penske before they decided to pull their Supercars program. He made his debut in the season finale of the 2020 season at St. Petersburg though he failed to finish. He will race the 3 entry for Team Penske.
Josef Newgarden
Tumblr media
He is a two-time Indycar Series champion, an Indy Lights champion, and a strong fan favorite. He has starred in many PR campaigns such as “Josef Newgarden Incognito”, “The Offseason”, “Shirts4Sage”, and “The Penske Games”. Has a vlog titled #AdmitOne. In his nine seasons in Indycar, he has competed in 148 races, has 18 wins, and 11 poles. He will drive the 2 entry (formerly the 1 entry) for Team Penske.
Pato O’Ward
Tumblr media
Another driver who ascended to Indycar through the Road to Indy program, he was the Indy Lights Champion in 2018. Last season was his first full season in Indycar, though he’s raced part time before then. Came oh so close to having his first Indycar win last season, but couldn’t make it to that top step of the podium. In his previous three years in Indycar, he has four podium finishes and one pole position. This season he will continue to race the 5 car for Arrow McLaren SP.
Simon Pagenaud
Tumblr media
Can hula-hoop on a regular day (not really). He is the 2016 series champion and the 2019 Indy 500 Champion. As evidenced by the Penske Games, good at racing and not party games. His dog Norman is also pictured on his Baby Borg-Warner Trophy. In his previous 10 seasons, he has achieved 15 wins, 35 podium finishes, and 14 pole positions. This season, he will continue to drive the 22 entry for Team Penske.
Alex Palou
Tumblr media
He has competed previously in Super GT, Super Formula, and F3 European Championship. Last season was his rookie season driving for Dale Coyne Racing, and he achieved one podium finish. This season, he will race the 10 car for Chip Ganassi Racing.
Will Power
Tumblr media
If you’re not following his Instagram you’re missing out. One of the most successful active drivers in Indycar. He is the 2014 series champion and 2018 Indycar champion. In his 13 seasons in Indycar (not including the three years in Champ Car prior to the merge), he has achieved 37 wins, 70 podium finishes, and 52 pole positions. This season he will continue to drive the 12 entry for Team Penske.
Graham Rahal
Tumblr media
He’s the son of 1986 Indy 500 Champion Bobby Rahal, and an avid car guy. Owns a performance shop and regularly hosts Cars and Coffee there. Probably the tallest driver in the paddock. In his previous 13 seasons, he has achieved six wins, 25 podium finishes, and three pole positions. This season he will continue to drive the 15 entry for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.
Felix Rosenqvist
Tumblr media
One of two Swedes currently racing in the Indycar Series. He has previously raced in DTM and F3 European Championship. In his previous two seasons in Indycar, he has achieved one win, three podiums, and one pole position. This season, he will race the 7 car for Arrow McLaren SP.
Alexander Rossi
Tumblr media
A fan favorite, but can’t do donuts correctly. Makes a podcast with James Hinchcliffe called ‘Off Track with Hinch and Rossi’ where they talk about everything except racing. He is the 2016 Indy 500 Champion and has raced in F1 for Marussia. In his five seasons in Indycar, he has achieved seven wins, 23 podiums, and six pole positions. This season he will continue to race the 27 entry for Andretti Autosport.
Takuma Sato

The screen started flickering! Instantly I understood that was a problem with the graphic driver so I simply downgraded it and the flickering disappeared, but I could not use a Notebook without drivers because all the things were lagging. Tried to update the drivers again with Windows and just after the installation the flickering didn't show up. First Look: The Track-Only Ford GT Mk II
Ford and Multimatic revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed the Ford GT Mk II, a limited-edition, track-only GT that represents the next stage in Ford GT performance.
With a 700 horsepower 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine, race-proven aerodynamics and competition-oriented handling, the GT Mk II has been co-developed by Ford Performance and Multimatic based on competitive learnings from Ford’s successful FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship campaigns with the Ford GT race car yet GT Mk II is engineered independent of race series rules, regulations and limitations.
Limited to just 45 vehicles, with a starting MSRP of $1.2 million, the GT Mk II joins the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans winning race car & the Ford GT supercar.
Built in Markham, Ontario, the Mk II begins life at the main Ford GT plant before being transferred to a specialist facility at Multimatic Motorsports where it is crafted into the Ford GT Mk II.
The Best of Both Worlds
The Ford GT Mk II is focused around aerodynamic and engine improvements and shares key features with both the street-legal GT supercar as well as the GT race car. Many of its components have been track-proven in the world’s most challenging endurance racing events.
The large dual-element rear wing exceeds what the Ford GT race car offers in terms of downforce. An all-new front racing splitter and diffuser have been incorporated along with new fender louvers and dive planes, which help balance out the extra rear downforce.
These aggressive aerodynamic changes enable the GT Mk II to generate over 400 percent more downforce than the Ford GT while fixed aerodynamic elements along with its race-proven suspension and Michelin Pilot Sport racing tires enable the car to pull more than 2Gs of lateral grip.
GT Mk II is also lighter and more agile. The street car’s adjustable ride height and drive modes have been removed, providing a weight savings of over 200 pounds while 5-way adjustable DSSV shock absorbers work with a lowered and fixed ride height to improve handling and keep the Mk II as aerodynamically efficient as possible.
The Ford GT Mk II features the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine that powers both the Ford GT race car and the road car but since the Mk II is not limited by any racing sanctioning body it is able to generate 200 horsepower more than the race car, making the Mk II the most powerful version of the Ford GT. The 3.5-liter EcoBoost is paired with the same seven-speed dual-clutch transmission from the Ford GT but specially calibrated for this track-exclusive application.
To add stamina to power, the GT Mk II adds innovative engine cooling technology, including a high capacity air-to-air outboard mounted charge air cooler with water spray technology. The water spray automatically activates in high temperature situations to provide cooling by applying atomized water on the charge air cooler allowing the Ford GT Mk II to maintain a consistent level of power at high temperatures.
A roof-mounted intake reminiscent of the race car engine air intake has been added for the Mk II to feed auxiliary engine, clutch and transmission coolers, giving the Mk II optimal cooling for the most extreme track day duty.
Increased engine power is paired with improved stopping power. The Mk II features braking performance beyond that of the GT race car by utilizing the street car’s carbon ceramic brakes, including 15.5-inch front and 14.1-inch rear Brembo brakes. Unique forged aluminum 19-inch wheels cover the massive brakes with race-proven Michelin Pilot Sport GT tires.
The front fascia and hood of the Mk II are similar to the street car as well as the stylized Ford GT headlamps with signature running lights.
Interior changes include a bespoke Sparco racing seat with a six-point racing harness and an optional passenger seat. A full MoTeC data acquisition system has also added to provide vital information for a track racer, which also doubles as a display for the rear camera.

The Ford GT production car, which made its first Goodwood appearance in 2017, is the most advanced and exclusive Ford road car ever, limited to volumes of no more than 250 a year, globally.
Built for the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race, the Ford GT race car has been a great success for Ford, winning the GTE Pro class at Le Mans on its first attempt in 2016, exactly 50 years on from the first of four successive Le Mans victories for the Ford GT40 at Le Mans.
Ford ended its competitive GT racing program in the FIA World Endurance Championship at the 2019 Le Mans in the GTE Pro class.  The Ford GTs will continue to race through the remainder of the IMSA season which culminates at Road Atlanta in October.
The GT Mk II makes its public debut running in the Supercar class at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and will be sold directly to customers by Multimatic.

The Mulholland Legend 480 Is The Fastest Supercar You’ve Never Heard Of😱💥😈💯💯. When TVR unveiled the 5.0-litre V8 Cosworth engine-powered Griffith sports car back in 2017 it got us and a lot of motorheads giddy. But three years since it premiered and it’s still not in production, leaving us with a long wait. Fear not though, it has a spiritual successor in the form of the stunning Legend 480 from Derby-based manufacturer Mulholland Automotive, part of the Mulholland Group who have pedigree in Formula One and the World Rally Championship, primarily focusing on the development and production of components and systems for these and more for over 20 years. The super-lightweight V8-powered machine has been designed and developed as a pure “drivers’ car” that will produce both thrilling performance and a tactile class-leading experience. #mulhollanddrive #f1 #worldrallychampionship #v8 #derby #supercarsdaily700 #supercarspotter #supercarspotting #supercarclub #supercardaily #supercarboyz #supercarmajlis #supercarblondie #hypebeast #hypercars #hypercarsdaily #carsofinstagram . title: proust questionnaire - charles leclerc (original article deleted, link through internet archive) source: the insider magazine author: fia formula 2 media team format: interview (english) season: 2017, f2 summary: charles talks about a wide range of topics, ranging from the traits he looks for in other people to what makes him happy.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
When do you lie? Charles: I really rarely lie: I hate lying. Probably when my trainer asks what I ate for dinner! [laughs]
What do you most dislike about your appearance? Charles: My hair: it’s always such a mess to get it right!
What is the quality you most like in a man? Charles: In a man I don’t really care! [laughs] My friends are mostly funny, so I’ll say funny: I like to laugh.
What is the quality you most like in a woman? Charles: I think it’s a mix between her looks and what she is inside.
Tumblr media
What is your most treasured possession? Charles: My Fiat 500! It’s from 1969, and it’s just a great car! [laughs] It’s so much fun, and it’s not so quick but it’s very fun to drive, and actually people look at you more than when you are in a supercar or something like that! It’s always very fun to go in it.

First Look: The Lego Speed Champions - McLaren Senna
McLaren Automotive’s latest Ultimate Series model to bear the legendary Senna name offers the purest connection yet between man and machine – without ever having to venture further than the kitchen table.
The most extreme track-focused road car built by McLaren has been brought down to size, with interlocking plastic bricks replacing carbon-fiber, for the new McLaren Senna Lego Speed Champions edition. Like the real thing, the collectible model promises hours of engaging fun – although in this case for petrolheads aged seven and up.
Each full-size McLaren Senna takes close to 300 hours of painstaking hand assembly at the McLaren Production Centre in Woking, Surrey, UK. The Lego Speed Champions Senna will also be hand-assembled – probably many times over –  but the 219 pieces in each model go together rather more quickly.
The latest in a sought-after line of Lego McLarens, the kit includes one thing that not even the real Senna comes with: its own buildable wind tunnel. For a car that can generate an amazing 800kg of downforce at 155mph it is just the thing for junior aerodynamicists to check out the Senna’s exceptional aerodynamic properties. The model of course features the front splitter, roof snorkel, diffuser and giant rear wing without which no McLaren Senna would be complete.
Finished in Victory Grey with contrasting orange highlights, the model even comes with a set of interchangeable wheel rims, a removable windscreen and its own minifigure driver. Attired in a McLaren race suit complete with Pirelli partnership logo, the minifigure shows the amazing attention to detail that Lego achieves with its Speed Champions series.
With a recommended retail price of £12.99 you could buy more than 50,000 McLaren Senna Lego Speed Champions models for the price of one real McLaren Senna – if you could acquire one. The run of 500 Sennas, at £750,000 each, was assigned soon after the car was announced.
The Lego Speed Champions editions of McLaren cars also have a tendency to sell out and young fans of the Senna are urged to move quickly to secure one. The Lego Speed Champions versions of both the McLaren P1™ and the McLaren 720S quickly sold out and are now no longer available.
The new model, like the full-size car, is named after the late, great Formula One World Champion Ayrton Senna who achieved each of his three Formula 1 World Championships in a McLaren. The car that bears his name, officially unveiled at the Winter Ball in 2017, is the lightest, most track-focused yet road-legal car McLaren has ever built. Boasting 800PS of turbocharged V8 power, the Senna can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 2.8 seconds.
Re-creating such a McLaren performance giant for the creative amusement of young supercar enthusiasts is just the latest in a series of collaborations between McLaren Automotive and the iconic Danish toy manufacturer.
The McLaren Senna Lego Speed Champions edition is priced at just £12.99 and available from toy retailers now.

W SERIES 2021 DRIVER INTRODUCTIONS: #95 Beitske Visser
Born 10 March 1995 in Dronten, The Netherlands, Beitske began karting at the age of 12. “When I was 12 I’d started racing internationally and some boys couldn’t handle being slower than a girl. They started smashing me off the track so I had to learn to be quite hard. If some guy hit me off I’d hit him off harder to get respect. I couldn’t let them mess with me. I always had the speed to be in front but I had to learn the mindset too. W Series is changing perceptions – we have more respect as drivers now and it is spurring me on.”
