I noticed today we have a ton of new followers, and are slowly creeping up to 5k! For those of you new to TheCarGays, welcome!

My name is Addison, and my husband, Mat, and I are huge car enthusiasts. We both work in the automotive industry, attend as many events as we can, and try our best to get track time in, whether it be AutoCross, track days, or drag strips. There's nothing we love more than driving, and have driven across the US a few times, both east to west and north to south.

Our adventures have taken us to some of the coolest places, from racing in supercars in Las Vegas, to canyon carving on Tail of the Dragon. We document them all here, and post our photos of every event we attend in between.

We tend to be Ford guys, but recently have started enjoying what Hyundai/Genesis/Kia have been doing. Our current fleet consists of a 2014 Ford Fiesta ST (full bolt on, rear motor mounts, short throw kit, custom tune, straight piped, the works), a 2017 Ford Fusion Sport (little known car, but features the 2.7 Twin Turbo V6 EcoBoost, AWD, and is lowered, tuned, sway bars, etc), and most recently, a 2021 Hyundai Sonata N-Line (another little known car, it's a surprising little beast).

Aside from cars, Mat tends to be the creative of the two of us. I love to write, but this man can draw, paint, sing, and everything in between. We have three cats and a bearded dragon, and are currently in the process of building a house! That's actually why we haven't been super active lately. We just relocated several states, are waiting for our house to be done, and are working non-stop in between. I'm working hard to keep this page as active as possible, and appreciate all of you taking the time to follow us along our automotive adventures!

I løpet av 2016 regner Ford med å selge mer enn 200 000 av Ford Performance-modellene på verdensbasis. Dette er nesten det dobbelte av hva produsenten solgte bare for tre år siden. Også i Europa har sportsbilelskere virkelig fått øynene opp for Fords høyytelsesbiler. Et salg på 31 000 supersportslige Ford-modeller hittil i år er en økning på hele 98% sammenliknet med samme perioden i fjor.

Bare det siste året er det det bestilt ca. 400 Ford høyytelsesbiler i Norge og den mest populære er Ford Mustang. Deretter følger ST-variantene av Focus og Fiesta med råtassen Ford Focus RS på plassen etter. Også bestillinger og salg av Fiesta ST200 har kommet godt i gang.

– Dette er en del av Fords DNA og her sitter vi på mye spisskompetanse. Det Ford utvikler av avansert teknologi for høyytelsesbilene blir også tatt i bruk på rimeligere modeller. Så dette kommer alle Ford-kunder til gode, sier administrende direktør i Ford Motor Norge, Per Gunnar Berg.

Die ADAC Rallye Deutschland von A bis Z • Typische Begriffe und interessante Hintergründe rund um den deutschen WM-Lauf München. Die ADAC Rallye Deutschland rückt näher: Vom 16. bis 19. August gastieren die besten WRC-Piloten der Welt im Saarland und den umliegenden Regionen. Dabei bekommen es Sébastien Ogier und seine Kollegen mit einigen neuen und spannenden Herausforderungen zu tun. Das folgende Rallye-ABC schildert die Highlights 2018 und erläutert typische Merkmale und wichtige Informationen rund um die ADAC Rallye Deutschland.

A wie ADAC: Die ADAC Rallye Deutschland ist die größte motorsportliche Gemeinschaftsleistung des ADAC. Alle 18 Regionalclubs sind daran beteiligt. Zudem bringen sich rund 70 im ADAC organisierte Orts- und Motorsportclubs ein.

B wie Bostalsee: Hier befindet sich der AUTODOC Servicepark. Auf dem rund 150.000 m² großen Areal lässt sich die Arbeit der Teams hautnah verfolgen.

F wie FIA: 1985 – drei Jahre nach der Premiere – gab es bei der ADAC Rallye Deutschland zum ersten Mal Punkte für die FIA European Rally Championship. 2002 machte der Motorsport-Weltverband die Veranstaltung zu einem offiziellen Lauf der FIA Rallye-Weltmeisterschaft.

G wie Grafschaft: Die WP Grafschaft wird für Spannung bis zum Schluss sorgen. Die Weinberg-Prüfung findet erstmals am Sonntag statt und ist mit zweimal 29 Kilometern deutlich länger und selektiver als 2017. Einen Vorsprung locker nach Hause zu fahren, ist hier nicht drin!

H wie Haarnadelkurven: Die tückischen Spitzkehren in den Weinbergen sind typisch für die ADAC Rallye Deutschland. 2018 sind es besonders viele: Je zwei Durchgänge von WP Stein und Wein, WP Mittelmosel und WP Grafschaft ergeben zusammen über 141 WP-Kilometer.

I wie Itinerary: Der Itinerary zählt zu den wichtigsten Planungsdokumenten. Er enthält alle Streckenlängen (2018: 18 Wertungsprüfungen mit insgesamt 328,66 Kilometern) und definiert den exakten Ablauf. Ebenso sind darin alle Service-, Tank- und Regrouping-Zeiten festgelegt.

J wie Jumps: An der berühmt-berüchtigten Sprungkuppe “Gina” heben die WRC-Boliden zu Sprüngen von bis zu 40 Metern Länge ab. In diesem Jahr werden die Flugeinlagen als Teil der neugestalteten WP Arena Panzerplatte auch live im Fernsehen zu sehen sein.

K wie Kleinschmidt: Rallye-Pilotin Jutta Kleinschmidt ist seit diesem Jahr Markenbotschafterin der ADAC Rallye Deutschland. Neben repräsentativen Aufgaben engagiert sich die Dakar-Siegerin auch für die konzeptionelle Weiterentwicklung der Veranstaltung.

L wie Loeb: Sébastien Loeb ist der mit Abstand erfolgreichste Pilot in der Geschichte der ADAC Rallye Deutschland. Zwischen 2002 und 2012 gewann “Super Seb” insgesamt neunmal, davon achtmal in Folge und immer gemeinsam mit seinem monegassischen Beifahrer Daniel Elena.

M wie Marshalls: An den Strecken und Zuschauerzonen der ADAC Rallye Deutschland sorgen über 2.000 ehrenamtliche Marshalls für einen sicheren und reibungslosen Ablauf.

N wie No-Go-Areas: Neben großzügig bemessenen Zuschauerzonen und gut markierten Wegen sind an einigen Streckenabschnitten No-Go-Areas ausgewiesen. Das strikte Betretungsverbot dient sowohl der Zuschauersicherheit als auch dem Schutz von Naturarealen.

O wie Ogier: Weltmeister Sébastien Ogier zählt zu den größten Favoriten der ADAC Rallye Deutschland. Für den mit der deutschen TV-Moderatorin Andrea Kaiser verheirateten Franzosen ist die Deutschland-Rallye nach drei Siegen (2011, 2015, 2016) eine Art “zweites Heimspiel”.

X wie X-treme: Die ADAC Rallye Deutschland gilt als äußerst anspruchsvolle Asphalt-Rallye, die im Grunde drei Rallyes in einer beinhaltet: extrem schnelle Landstraßen im Saarland, extrem enge Weinberg-Prüfungen und extrem harte Pisten auf dem Truppenübungsplatz Baumholder.

Y wie Youngster: Im Rahmen der ADAC Rallye Deutschland 2018 trägt der ADAC Opel Rallye Cup auch in diesem Jahr wieder zwei Wertungsläufe aus. Der Markenpokal gilt als DIE Talentschmiede für die Rallye-Stars von morgen.

Med en helt ny 200 HK sterk 1.5-liters tresylindret Ecoboost-bensinmotor leverer nye Fiesta ST en helt enestående kombinasjon av ytelse og drivstofføkonomi. Den neste generasjon Fiesta ST er utviklet i samme ånd som supersportsbilen Ford GT.

For første gang ble også den eksklusive Ford GT 66` Heritage Edition vist frem i Europa.

Ford Performance modellene, som Focus ST med både bensin og diesel, Focus RS, ikonet Mustang og den nåværende Fiesta ST, har hatt en eventyrlig salgsvekst i Europa. Bare i 2016 økte de med hele 60 % i forhold til året før. Salgstall fra januar i år viser også en pen vekst på hele 14 % sammenliknet med samme måned i fjor.

– Modeller med høy ytelse og med priser som er tilgjengelig for folk flest, er blant Fords viktigste kjerneverdier. Fra de aktive aerodynamiske systemene på Ford GT til de nye kjøremodusene på Fiesta ST utvikler vi hele tiden ny teknologi som overfører spenningen ved å kjøre en racerbil til våre produksjonsbiler, sier toppsjefen i Ford Europa, Jim Farley.

Den neste generasjon Ford Fiesta ST

Den nye, spreke ST-modellen fra Ford gjør 0-100 km/t på 6,7 sekunder. Maksimalt dreiemoment fra den nye 1,5-liters tresylindrede Ecoboost-motoren er på hele 290 Nm.

– Nye Fiesta ST lever opp til vår filosofi om å tilby banebrytende teknologi for ytterligere å forbedre alle egenskapene til understell og drivverk, sier ansvarlig for produktutvikling i Ford Europa, Joe Bakaj.

Den tredje generasjonen Fiesta ST blir den første Ford Performance-modellen som leveres med tresylindret motor. Det er også den første Fiesta ST som leveres med flere kjøremodus. Her kan du velge mellom innstillingene «Normal», «Sport», eller «Track» for optimal kjøreopplevelse – enten du kjører på vei eller bane. Modusene tilpasser motor, styring og bilens stabilitetskontroll for å gi deg det optimale kjøreoppsettet.

Bruk av ulike kjøremodus påvirker også bilens lyd for å gi deg en enda mer engasjerende kjøreopplevelse.

Den nye motoren får også Fords bransjeledende teknologi som for første gang muliggjør sylinderkutt på en tresylindret motor.

Deaktiveringen sparer deg for drivstoff ved at bensintilførselen til et sylinder automatisk kuttes når kjøremønsteret og forholdene tilsier at bilen ikke trenger full motorkapasitet. Dette skjer ved jevn kjøring når man ikke trenger motorens fulle kapasitet.

Neste generasjon Fiesta ST byr også på muligheten til å gjøre bilen mer personlig enn noen gang. Kundene kan velge mellom en rekke dekorelementer og stylingpakker.

Ford GT – til både racing og landeveien

Ford GT blir også for første gang i Europa, vist frem som en eksklusiv ’66 Heritage Edition.

Modellen er en hyllest til Fords seier på Le Mans i 1966 og kommer med unike farger både utvendig og innvendig. Også de 20 tommers felgene er helt unike for denne spesialutgaven.

I likhet med cockpiten i et jagerfly har nye Ford GT et heldigitalt 10 tommers instrumentpanel i dashbordet som raskt og enkelt gir føreren informasjon basert på fem kjøremodus.

Hvert kjøremodus presenterer informasjonen på en skreddersydd måte til kjørestilen som ønskes. De fem kjøremodusene er: Normal, vått, sport, banemodus eller V-Max. Sistnevnte er skreddersydd for maksimal hastighet.

Med en målt topphastighet på ekstreme 347 km/t er nye Ford GT historiens raskeste serieproduserte Ford.

Den målte effekten på den nye, ekstreme 3.5-liters sterke V6 EcoBoost-motoren er hele 647 HK etter amerikanske spesifikasjoner. Maksimalt dreiemomentet er på 500 lb ft (678 Nm).

Også racingutgaven av bilen, Ford Chip Ganassi Racing Ford GT, er utstilt i Geneve.

I juni i fjor gjentok Ford 1966-seieren på Le Mans med Ford Chip Ganassi Racing, som med Sébastien Bourdais, Joey Hand og Dirk Müller tok totalseieren i GT-klassen under 2016-utgaven av 24-timersløpet på Le Mans. Også i år vil Ford GT konkurrere i det klassiske billøpet.

Nye spesialutgaver av Mustang vises frem

Ford solgte hele 43 800 Performance-biler som Focus ST, Focus RS, Mustang og den nåværende Fiesta ST i 2016.

I Geneve blir også to nye spesialutgaver av ikonet Mustang vist frem:

Ford Mustang Black Shadow Edition:

  *Vil være tilgjengelig for bestilling med Fords råe 421 hestekrefters 5.0-liters V8-motor fra våren 2017

  * Den kommer i fire farger: Platinum White, Triple Yellow, Race Red og Grabber Blue.

  * Blant de unike styling-elementene er en svart ponny-logo på GT-grillen, fremtredende sorte striper langs det bulende panseret og på tvers av sidene og 5-liters emblemet på forskjermene.

  * Leveres med et eksklusivt Shaker Pro bilstereoanlegg med 12 høyttalere og åtte tommers subwoofer.

* Sort skinninteriør med fargede kontrastsømmer.

Den tøffe sportsbilen vil være tilgjengelig både med en 6-trinns manuell girkasse og med automatgir.

Ford Mustang Blue Edition:

* Er tilgjengelig for bestilling nå, både med den kraftige 5-liters V8-motoren med 421 HK eller med den mer drivstoffeffektive 2.3-liters EcoBoost-motoren med 317 HK.

* Den kommer både med en 6-trinns manuell girkasse og lynrask automatgirvariant.

* Leveres i Fords karakteristiske Grabber Blue-farge. Grabber-fargene er oppkalt etter sin evne til å vekke (grab) oppmerksomhet og ble først introdusert på Shelby GT350 og GT500-modellene i 1969. Siden den gang har Ford tilbudt Mustang i mer enn 20 forskjellige «Grabber-farger» som Grabber Orange, Grabber Yellow og Grabber Lime. Disse modellene har blitt spesielt interessante for samlere.

– Ford Mustang står allerede i dag frem i mengden på veier rundt i Europa. Med de nye modellene vil enda flere snu seg etter en Mustang. Special Edition-utgaver har vært en viktig del av ikonets historie i 50 år. Nå kan også europeiske kunder få ta del i dette, sier adm. dir. i Ford Motor Norge Per Gunnar Berg.

Begge modellene er tilgjengelige med fastback-karosseri og byr på eksklusivt utstyr som oppvarmede og ventilerte seter, Fords toppmoderne SYNC 3 kommunikasjons- og underholdningssystem med navigasjon, stemmestyring på norsk, og et førsteklasses stereoanlegg.

Viser Fords stolte motorsportsarv

På messen vil også Ford vise frem den stolte motorsportsarven merket har. Denne historien startet for hele 116 år siden da Fords grunnlegger, Henry Ford, vant «Sweepstakes Race» med sin «999»- racerbil i et historisk billøp.

Du vil blant annet få se:

* En kopi av Ford GT40 Mk2 racerbilen fra 1966 som vant Le Mans det året. Bilen ble drevet av en 7-liters V8-motor.

* En kopi av 1970-modellen Ford Escort Mk1 som vant London-Mexico World Cup rally. Bilen er ombygd med en 1,8-liters Ford Cosworth-motor med rundt 200 HK.. Denne ble brukt når det klassiske rallyet ble kjørt igjen i 1995.

* En Ford Escort RS Cosworth som er en gateversjon av Ford Escort World Rally Championship gruppe A bil. Bilen har en 230 hestekrefters 2-liters turbomotor med trekk på alle fire.

Ford feirer også i år 50 års-jubileum for introduksjonen av sin Ford Cosworth DFV V8 racingmotor. Denne vant hele 155 løp i løpet av sine 15 år.
