Fic concept where Shen Jiu decides on a new tactic to make the torture stop. He pretends to be completely broken.

It's all just an act, of course. He's his cold, calculating, ruthless self beneath the veneer of tears and pleading, just like when he was Xiao Jiu, swindling soft-hearted ladies out of their riches on the streets. He hasn't really been affected by what Bingge did to him; by the meticulous ruining of his reputation with lies he is too proud to refute. By the betrayal of his own martial brothers and disciples.

Not.

One.

Bit.

Really, all Bingge's monstrosity has done is to show Shen Jiu he has nothing left to lose.

Why not flaunt some false vulnerability, on the offchance he can persuade Luo Bingge - or, more likely, Ning Yingying - to off him for good?

If Shen Jiu's being honest with himself, though... The truth of his past, ripped out of his dreams by Bingge, didn't make him any more amenable to his wicked shizun. This new tactic is unlikely to work.

Or so Shen Jiu thinks.

He just so happens to pick a time to execute his grand plan after Luo Bingge returns from that other world, the world where he and his Shizun are happy together (yes shhhh I'm fucking with the timelines a little). Which means Bingge... Bingge is actually susceptible to this.

The only problem is, Bingge's sudden efforts to 'treat him kindly' and 'repair their relationship' now he thinks Shen Jiu might actually be moulded into the fangless, sweetened version of him he saw in another world, are far more terrifying than any agony he has been subjected to.

Celebration time! The quite unintentional "recruit my fellow local Swedes to watch AMC's Interview with the Vampire" mission has taken two steady steps forward this week, and in unexpected directions outside my regular friend groups! It's fun. <3

Had a little Interview with the Vampire chat with the owner of my local (and only) art supplies shop yesterday. She has written her own gothic horror vampire novel, loved the movie adaption of IwtV, read a bunch of the VC books when she was in her early teens (like me), was a big fan of Claudia, and has not (yet) seen the AMC series. That will be resolved because I will lend her season 1 and 2 on bluray. Success. \m/

Met a neighbour on my way home from the cinema two days ago. We have planned to hang out for ages but life has gotten in the way, and now we spent a little while talking movies, what TV series we liked, she mentioned American Horror Story, especially Coven, said she loves New Orleans, that she watched The Princess and the Frog when she was younger and adores the magic creepy NOLA vibe, and had of course seen IwtV 1994 and enjoyed it... WELL. You see where this is going. A recommendation had to be made... Anyway, we had lunch and a walk today, and future meetups will include an introduction to AMC's IwtV. Success #2. \m/

All in all, a good recruitment week in a small countryside city somewhere in Sweden. ❤
