Hey. I shall thank you for the Elaine appearances, since I have only watched the Knights of the Round Table (1953) and I loved her so much! May I request Galahad appearing in TV or movies? He is an important character in Arthuriana as far as I know and I am doing a research on the Legends... And you must be the most reliable source ❤️

you're welcome! agreed, she's really adorable in that film. i don't know that i'm the most reliable source, but you're kind to say it! :^)

so galahad...he's a weird one. the character does appear, but rarely does anything of consequence. which is hysterical considering he's a dedicated character that exists for literally one very serious purpose? oddly enough, he's usually either a baby/child who cameos and never appears again or he's an adult we see in passing just chillin (good for him). adaptations that include a greater focus on the grail quest tend to utilize perceval instead (perceval (1978), excalibur (1981), kaamelott (2005–2009), bbc merlin (2008–2011), etc.) with the exception of monty python (1975). but! galahad and lancelot aren't father and son? which is a reoccurring problem in king arthur (2004) and again in wizards tales of arcadia (2020)! what do you mean they're just coworkers? why? their strained relationship acts as a major conflict in the medieval text! respect, but wild narrative choices all around. the only adaptation that tackled galahad's character from conception to death was bbc the legend of king arthur (1979). bless. anyway here's the lad himself...

The Near Misses Tourney (2 of 2)

In 400+ submissions many worthy and noble (also some dastardly and evil) men (and orcs and elves and hobbits and the like) were admitted to our fair Tourney.

These are... not them.

No indeed, 20 men (and one... unit?) of those submitted failed to qualify for the tournament, for diverse reasons. They were therefore turned away and tossed on the Near Misses Pile. But the spirit of competition still burns within them and they have erected a makeshift tilt on the outskirts of the Tourney Grounds.

We wish them the Best of luck in their fruitless endeavour!

Radio Arthuriana

No, this is not a radio station dedicated to Arthuriana that I magically tuned into one night (although thinking about it...), but rather here are some Arthurian radio dramas I've come across on Internet Archive over the years. All these were produced by the BBC.

A Stone from Heaven (1995), written by Lindsay Clarke and directed by Nigel Bryant (!), which is a two-part radio adaptation of Parzival by Wolfram von Eschenbach and Perceval by Chretien de Troyes. Part 1 and Part 2 here.

Arthur the King (1990), written by Graeme Fife, is a seven-part series that pretty much covers the events of Malory's Le Morte Darthur, and the first episode features Paul Scofield as Merlin. Link here.

Arthur (2004), written by Sebastian Baczkiewicz and Steve May, is a six-part series telling the life of King Arthur (not really based on any specific source). Ben Whishaw plays young Arthur and Philip Glenister plays the older Arthur, with Ian McDiarmid (whom you all know for playing Palpatine) as Merlin, Jane Lapotaire as the older Morgan, and Eve Myles as Gwenfar. The Once and Future King (2014) is a six-part adaptation of the novels by T.H. White by Brian Sibley (who also did an excellent radio adaptation of Tolkien's Lord of the Rings in 1981 which I highly recommend giving a listen), and featuring the late, great David Warner as Merlin. I've not listened to this one yet, but I thought you folks would appreciate it anyway. Link here.

So @professorlehnsherr-almashy did our family time call today and played a version of the game Heartthrob that he put together using some fandoms! Characters from Doctor Who, The Terror, Hornblower, Psychoville, Six Idiots productions, a few favorites from Jane Austin, The League of Gentlemen, What We Do in Shadows, and some rogue favorite characters!

Basically the game is that you draw 3 characters and then draw 2 red flags for each character to have.

You then have to guess who the other person will date/marry and choose one yourself.
