You sit by the fire, side by side with your long time friend Legend. Cool summer night breezes lazily pass by as the star shin above you.

The others sleep peacefully as your shift of watch drags on.

"You didn't have to take watch with me." You say to him.

Legend shrugs half heartedly. "You get bored."

"I do." You smile.

He snorts, elbowing you gently.

You just roll tour eyes, leaning against him. It's one of the many privileges you are afforded as someone close to him.

Legend wraps one arm around you, staring out at the stars as everyone else sleeps. He rests his hand on your arm, the metal of his rings cooler than his flesh.

It's easy, being here with him. The way your mind wanders to what a life with him might entail is... nothing new.

You soak up the warmth and ease that radiates off him. This is something reserved for you.

Legend is a sweetheart. Under the jaded attitude, he's still kind. He's earned the right to be jaded. But here? When it's just the two of you?

He is always more open with you like this. He's comfortable enough with you to be softer. Comfort enough to be affectionate.

"Did you ever find your soulmate?" He asks you. "I know you wanted to."

You laugh. "Not yet. I... don't know that I care, either. You know?"

"I do."

"Oh?" You prompt, "Is there someone you want to pursue, bunny boy?"

"That's not my name." Legend huffs. He gives you a playful glare, too.

You smile. "Answer the question."

"Maybe. It's... not important. I don't think I have a chance." Legend pulls you closer.

You lean with it, humming. "Why not?"

"I doubt I'm their soulmate. You know the world we live in." He gives a half shrug.

His tone is bitter, and he sounds genuinely resigned to a fate without whoever it is he is talking about.

You fall silent, searching the fire for answers as if it can reassure you. What are you supposed to say?

You can't let yourself hope he's talking about you.

The urge to reassure him is stringer than any jealousy you have over a man that isn't yours. You love him, you don't want him upset.

"Well... Fuck em." You offer and smile at him, "If they don't feel the same their a total fool."

"Really? That's all you got?" He huffs, raising one brow.

"Yep." You say, poping the 'p'.

Legend stares at you with unreadable eyes. He looks at you, searching for something but you can't say what.

He looks back to the stars.

You settle back down against him.

Legend rubs your arm with his hand where it rests, arm still around you like a promise.

You don't know what it's a promise of, just that it is.

Minutes pass, silent companionship a steady beat in your heart.

Legend finally asks, "If... I tell you something, you can't laugh at me. Okay?"

"I make no promises." You say immediately. "When people say that they tell me things that make me laugh."

"It's not a joke." Legend says.

His voice is firm, but his frame shakes slightly against you.

You frown, pulling out of his hold and sitting up on your own. You watch his face for any hint of what he wants to say.

"I'm listening." You tell him. "I won't laugh."

"Did you mean what you said, that I should tell them?" Legend asks, voice quiet and shaking.

You offer a nod.

He looks at you with a vulnerability you rarely see on him. He looks sea sick.

"Okay." He says, letting out a breath.

"Take your time." You soothe. "It's okay."

Legend nods weakly. He is looking directly into your eyes.

He takes a deep breath, setting his shoulders before he speaks.

"I don't care if you're my soulmate, I chose you. You're who I want at my side, as my partner, as my spouse if you want to get married." He says, voice firm even as he looks ready to run.

You let out a gasp.

He watches you, hands shaking as he fists them in his lap.

You know those words.

Those are the words that's are printed on one of your shoulder blades.

Legend said-

Oh.

"Fuck, man." You breathe out.

You want to laugh a little. You don't, but the surprise is there.

Legend flinches.

"It's really you, Link." You say in awe, "You're the one."

He blinks, confusion flitting across his face. "What?"

"It's your words on me. It's you!" You smile.

His breath catches. He knows those words. Those are the words printed on his sternum.

You're hugging him quickly, heart beating too fast as you knock your knee against his in the movement.

Legend hugs you back on reflex, sucking in a breath. "We're so stupid."

You laugh softly, setting your forehead on his shoulder. "We're soulmates."

"I'm glad it's you." Legend decides.

You grin, pulling away to look at him again. "How long can we go before the others realize we're together?"

"We're together now?" Legend asks with a smirk.

"Yes." You say, taking his hand in your own. "You're mine forever, bunny boy."

"Only if you're mine too."

"Good." You say, pulling his hand to up and pressing a kiss to it.

"Sap." He acusses. Then he gives you a smirk. "We could probably go for a week or two before they put it together."

You laugh, "Yeah?"

"Absolutely."

You lean against him again, setting your joined hands on your thigh. "This is nice."

He hums, "It is."

"For what it's worth... I chose you too, Link."

He smiles, face red. "Yeah?"

"Forever."

Legend hums once. "Forever sounds... great."

You smile up at him.

He means it, too. He knows he's prickly and he has bad days, but if you'll have him he'll stay with you. Forever.

What is this?

It’s a SamBucky multi-week event in celebration of the anniversary for TFATWS TV show.

Is there any pressure?

No pressure at all. Fill one prompt. Fill all the prompts at once. Do however many you please.

Can I fill more than one prompt with one piece of art/one fic?

Yes! You can fill one prompt with one piece of art or fic. You can try to fill all of the prompts during the event at once with one piece of art or fic. You can do any number in between.

Are there any prizes for making anything for this event?

Just the satisfaction that you made something cool.

Is it just SamBucky?

Yes please, just SamBucky. There can be side ships, but the main ship should be SamBucky.

How long will this event run?

It will run from March 17th and run until April 27th.

I heard there are badges I can use for each fill?

Not this year, unfortunately. But there will be cool banners for each day!

What are the guidelines for the event?

I will be borrowing some of this from the MYSU Valentine’s Day Bingo 2022 Guidelines, since they were fantastic.

For Everyone:

1. Remember to @sambuckylibrary in the post as well as #tfatwsanniversary2025.

2. Please also tag the prompt you’re filling (for instance, if the square is “Redwing”, use “#redwing” as one of your tags when posting about it on Tumblr).

3. If you’re uploading to AO3, please:

a ) Say somewhere which prompt you’re filling.

b ) Add it to TFATWS Anniversary Event 2025 (TFATWS_Anniversary_Event_2025).

For Artists:

1. Create at least one piece of new art that can’t have been posted anywhere else before this.

2. All visual art forms are welcome:

a ) Gifsets, at least 2 gifs.

b ) Aesthetic boards or moodboards, at least 4 images each.

c ) Drawing/painting, that is not a sketch.

Things to be mindful of when creating:

For Sam

Avoid framing Sam only as a caretaker or emotional support for Bucky. Be mindful of Sam acting angry or aggressive in an out-of-character way and falling into the angry/sassy Black man trope (check out the MCU source material to help with character traits).

Avoid decentering Sam as a main character and refrain from focusing entirely on Bucky.

In art: avoid whitewashing Sam’s skin and research drawing Black characters.

General disclaimer: Race affects every aspect of his life, including interacting with police/government and the white structures of the world when it comes to performing his duties as Cap and simply being a Black man that lives in the U.S.

For Bucky

Avoid phrasing “flesh/normal/human hand” to refer to the contrast between his prosthetic arm and his right arm. The phrasing is ableist. You can simply refer to his prosthesis when relevant, otherwise use “right/left arm/hand”.

fic summary: what's a few burnt mementos between friends?

A/N: i was cold so i finally wrote this lol

This stinks.

Literally, this whole setup stinks. Lighting a fire always seems so appealing until you remember how the stench of it clings to your body and clothes, head to toe. You’ll carry it with you until you can rid yourself of everything imbued with smoke and dive through the shower.

As you glance toward the box at your feet, the irony doesn’t escape you: lighting a fire to forget while it refuses to let you. What’s one more memory scorched into your person?

“Hey.”

A familiar voice snaps you back to the present. In the dim light you see the outline of your friend, bundled up as he walks toward you.

“Hey yourself.” Jake has an open invitation to swing by anytime, but you had forgotten to text him and ask for some privacy tonight. You kick the box beneath your seat. Jake pretends not to notice.

Instead, he hands you a thermos. “Bit cold to be outside, don’t you think?”

“I’m staying warm out of spite.” You open the thermos and nearly melt as the smell of your favorite hot beverage wafts up from the canister. At least he never comes empty handed.

A gloved hand gestures for you to pass the thermos back as Jake takes the seat next to you. The light of the fire dances across his features, the tired look in his eyes more prominent in the orange glow. He pours a steaming mug from the canister and passes it to you, capping it and pulling out a flask for himself.

You sip your drink as you continue to examine him. This must not be a social visit.

Finally you clear your throat. “Do you want to talk about it, or do you want a distraction?”

He smirks, shaking his head. “Distraction, if you’re game.”

“Sure… yeah, okay.” The mug is a welcome comfort to your frigid hands, but you part with it to drag the box back out. “Guess what today is?”

You can see the wheels turning in his mind as he runs through every significant date possible. His eyes widen when he spies the corner of something poking out from the box. “Your anniversary,” he winces.

“Ugh, don’t call it that.” You set the box on the seat between you. “But yes, technically. One year since… you know. I ended things.”

Jake nods sagely, putting his flask back in his coat pocket. He remembers what happened a year ago. 

It was a gnarly breakup. He was proud of you for ending things with your ex, and he made sure to tell you every time doubt began to creep into your mind. But even now, he knew you could be triggered by the smallest things. You’d avoid certain phrases when you spoke; you couldn’t stand the smell of the places you frequented on your dates; you hadn’t touched the book series you both had bonded over since they stopped being part of your life.

Jake’s attention falls back on the box. “And how are we celebrating tonight?”

You laugh, sharp and bitter. “Yeah, it’s a real party.” Still, you open the box to give him a better look at its contents. To anyone else, it’d look like a pile of junk. And technically, to you, it is junk: odds and ends, trinkets and notes are piled inside. On top sits a book, decently sized and paperback with worn pages.

You shrug. “Figured tonight was as good a time as any to bury the hatchet. Or burn it.”

Jake looks at you quizzically. “Then why haven’t you?” He scoots his seat closer to yours, a small grin playing on his lips. “I mean, I’m honored if you were waiting for little ol’ me, but I get the feeling you wanted to do this alone.” He nudges your foot with his own. “What’s the holdup?”

You stare down at the box, then at the fire. “It just… I don’t know. It feels mean. Like, I could just stick this stuff back in my closet and it’d basically be the same thing.”

Jake shakes his head. “If that was the case, you wouldn’t have gone through the trouble of lighting this thing and sat here freezing your ass off for so long.” When this draws a small smile from you, he continues. “You’re not going to hurt anyone if you get rid of these things once and for all. Not if it’s what you really want to do. But…” he sighs, picking up the paperback and flipping through it. “If you want to keep ‘em a while longer, nobody’s gonna get hurt from that, either.” He closes the book and looks you in the eye. “It’s up to you.”

You’re focused on the book in his hands as he talks. After a moment, your voice is soft. “They never even read it. That book, I loaned it to them. It wasn’t my favorite, but I figured we could bond over the author or something. Do you know where they put it as soon as I handed it over?” Your face scrunches in disgust. “Their fucking gym bag. They gave it back a month later, never even opened it.” 

You haven’t thought about that moment since you shoved the novel in the reject pile ages ago. It wasn’t even the fact that your ex had put something of yours in the same bag as their used socks and God knows what else. When they gave it back to you, unread, it felt tainted in more ways than one. Tainted with neglect. One of the first red flags you’ve beaten yourself up over not recognizing sooner. Your eyes sting with tears– whether from sadness, frustration, or the smoke blowing your way, you can’t tell. All you know is that you can’t stand to look at the thing anymore.

Jake reads you loud and clear. He stands up, crosses to the other side of the fire, and opens the book in the middle. “Well, this thing does not spark joy.” With a flourish, he takes one page in hand, and tears it from the book with a decided riiiiiip.

You watch with wide eyes as he holds the page over the flames. As if waiting for your approval (not that you fancied taping a page back into the gym bag book either way). You nod, and Jake shouts, “En el fuego te vas!” before crumpling the page and dropping it into the fire pit.

You laugh for the first time all evening. Jake continues, tearing page after page from the novel and ceremoniously dropping them into the fire. A weight seems to have been lifted from him, as well, as he gets louder and more energized with every offering.

Finally you stand up and take the book from his hands. “Can’t let you have all the fun, Lockley.” You grab a fistful of the remaining pages and scatter them into the fire pit, then chuck the rest of the book into the makeshift inferno.

Plumes of smoke rise as sparks fly out from the force of your enthusiasm. Jake wraps his arms around you and turns your body away, shielding you from the brunt of the embers. “Easy, cariño.”

“You made it look fun,” you say breathlessly. The cold and adrenaline catch up to you, and you’re practically buzzing. Jake rubs his hands along your shoulders to steady you.

“Want to keep going, then?”

You smile wide. “Hell yeah.”

The two of you spend the next half hour sorting through the box, bidding each item farewell before dropping it into the fire pit. You’re convinced dumping the whole thing in at once would be the perfect catharsis, but Jake convinces you to take your time (and avoid calling the fire department).

Later, as the flames cool and every memento has been reduced to ash, you sit with Jake in the fading glow of the fire, his arm around you as you sip from the thermos.

“Jake?” you ask quietly, face flush against his chest as you watch the light leave each ember.

“Yeah?”

“Happy anniversary.”

Current Obsession: It's still Star Wars (Codywan is my main ship, tho I've been writing a lot of Jangobi recently lmao), but I can feel the old sonic fascination creeping in around the edges (I played/watched sonic growing up, but to this day I am so comically bad at platforming games that every time i pick one back up it's an exercise in futility)

I look forward to telling you: I've always got at least seven wips sitting in my drafts, and I'm excited to share my entries for the codywan first kiss bingo coming up! I'm also really excited because it's just about the one year anniversary of posting the start of my first long fic (A Stop Along the Way), but I'm not really sure how to go about celebrating lol

The Merlin Library’s Merlin Finale 10 Year Anniversary Prompt Challenge

October 6 - December 25, 2022 The Merlin Library Discord

The Merlin Library is celebrating the decade anniversary after the Merlin Season 5 finale left behind one of the most memorable television endings and emotionally devastated all of its viewers as it aired on the night before Christmas…ahem. The Merlin Finale 10 Year Anniversary Prompt Challenge is a ‘prompt’ challenge designed to capture elements of each episode as the 5th season celebrates its 10th anniversary since airing. Each week is dedicated to a specific episode until the week of the finale, where the two episodes aired within days of each other.

This fest runs for 12 weeks, starting on October 6th with the original airing date of Arthur’s Bane: Part 1, and ending with Diamond of the Day: Part 2 on December 24th. 

All creators are welcome to participate. Content is open to fic, art, edits, gifs, manips, meta, poetry, podfic, and whatever else you can creatively come up with during these 12 weeks.

You do not need to do something for each week, but there will be a special prize for those who do. Participate as much or as little as you want. 

You may tag #TML10ANNIVERSARY and your content will be reblogged to our main Tumblr, themerlinlibrary.tumblr.com.  If you are submitting to AO3, feel free to add your creations to the TML_10yrfest collection.

HOW DO PROMPTS WORK?

The themes of each week are dedicated to the episode that aired. You can write fix-it fics for each episode, or fanart related to that episode, or use the word prompts or color prompts for whatever you make. The content you make doesn’t have to be specific to that episode or an ‘episode tag’ art/fic necessarily. 

The prompts are meant to inspire you, not box your creative muse in. You can interpret the prompts as literally or loosely as you want. 

The only prompt requirement is that whatever you create is set in or around the canon era Merlin universe. The fest aims to celebrate the show Merlin and it’s original setting. As great as fusions, fandom crossovers, and modern setting AU content are, this is not the fest for that. 

RULES

You may combine this fest with other ongoing challenges (ie: Merlin Bingo, Kinkalot, etc).

Each prompt week opens from the point at which the episode would have aired. However, there won’t be a deadline for when you post a prompt if it’s from an earlier week, and you have until the 25th of December to post. There will also be an amnesty week after the 25th for anyone who couldn’t post their fills in time. We understand it’s a hectic season for most of us. The event will officially end (and the AO3 collection will close) on January 1st, 2023.

In the interest of fairness, all pairings (or none, if you prefer to create gen/platonic works) are welcome. 

The last rule is to have fun. Please do not stress if you aren’t inspired for every prompt, and have fun creating!

Sky only one bed

One bed (morning confessions)

No warnings just some fluff

Your excitement to sleep at an inn is only half diminished when you find that you've been paired to a room with only one bed. It's not the end of the world. Traveling with this group, you've seen everyone hurt or in various states of dress.

The issue is actually just that there's only one bed and the person you are sharing the room (and apparently bed) with is Sky.

That... makes it sound bad. It isn't!

Sky is wonderful, kind if a little prone to teasing. After all every Link is a gremlin at heart.

The problem, or the root of it, is that you have feelings for the man... and you are worried about making a fool of yourself.

"Well, I can take the floor?" Sky offers from the doorway behind you.

You stand in the middle of the room and turn, "Absolutely not."

"I don't mind."

"I mind." You cross your arms.

You know that if you offer to sleep on the floor he'll shoot it down. Which, if nice because that would probably mess up ypur back and neck.

You know the bed is big enough.

Well... You suppose you'll just have to suck up your feelings about this and share. The bed is big enough for it.

"We can share." You say, hoping you come of as confident.

Sky smiles even as his cheeks dust pink, "Are you sure?"

"Yes. It's big enough anyways." You offer a smile back. "Besides there are worse people to share a bed with."

"Oh yeah?"

You laugh a little. "Definitely. Wind kicks in his sleep, little monster."

"You don't say." Sky laughs.

You snicker again. "I'm pretty sure. Come on it's been a long day we should try to sleep."

"Probably so." Sky says as he steps fully into the room and shuts the door.

You cross to the corner of the room, setting your things down before stripping into your under layers. An under shirt and underwear is much better to sleep in than full gear.

You can hear Sky doing the same somewhere on behind you.

It's almost scary to bear so little protection after so long with this group, but you know you're safe here. Regardless of any reciprocation Sky may or may not have for your feelings, he would never hurt you. Not on purpose.

Crossing to the bed and getting in is more daunting than you want to admit. It's a comfortable bed, at least.

You watch Sky get into bed, laying like a stiff log beside you.

"That's got to be uncomfortable." You say with a soft smile.

"It's fine. I don't want to encroach."

"I'm not going to die if you end up touching my arm, but thank you for thinking of me."

Sky looks at you with wide eyes. "I sprawl out usually I just don't want to bother you."

A rather silly idea occurs to you. "Would it be easier if we cuddled?"

You can feel your face heat up, but it's a genuine question. There is no answer that will be easy on your heart, but you've already asked.

Sky flushes a little. "If... you don't mind?"

"I offered." You manage.

You both shift until you're comfortable. The soft 'is this okay' or 'can I do this' is asked until you settle down.

Sky lays on his back in the middle of the bed, your head on his chest and his arm wrapped around you. His heart beats rapidly in his chest like bass drum beating along to a fast song you don't know.

It's nice.

It's torture because this isn't quite what you imagined this situation would be. There's no kisses.

It's okay though, because Sky is a good friend and you feel safe.

"Are you going to be able to sleep?" You ask.

Sky hums, "I should be. Why?"

"Your heart's fast is all."

"Oh." Sky says.

"I didn't mean to be rude-"

"You weren't." Sky assures you.

"Okay."

You let yourself sink into the comfort and safety, relishing the warmth of the man holding you.

Sky's breathing is slow and steady. Even as his heart continues it's rapid staccato.

You lay there long enough that you are all but asleep when you hear it.

"You're beautiful like this." Sky whispers.

You manage to open your eyes, face warming. "Thank you."

"Oh- I thought you were asleep. I mean it though."

"Thank you."

"Go back to sleep, sunshine."

You feel far more awake at this new nickname. "Sunshine?"

"Oh. Uh-"

"I like that one." You decide, ignoring the hope blossoming in your heart.

"Good." Sky says.

Sleep finds you both, the embrace of dreams is nothing new.

Sky wakes and immediately closes his eyes again the sunlight streaming in from the window. He pulls the thing again his chest closer in protest-

That's not a thing that's a person.

Sky opens his eyes again, quickly looking down and seeing you.

Right.

Goddess above, Sky was such a fool last night. Letting his feelings fall all over the ground. It's a miracle he didn't make you uncomfortable on accident.

"I'm so lucky." Sky mutters to himself.

You groan, burying your face in his chest before you bolt up with a gasp.

"What- Sky?" You ask with blurring vision.

"Morning." Sky says.

You blink a few times, the sigh. Lowering yourself back down to your original position with your head on his chest you just pout. "No."

"No?" Sky chuckles.

"Don't wanna."

"Fair enough."

"I was having a nice dream." You sigh, sounding a little out if it still. "Was nice, we were married and having a picnic."

"Oh?" Sky asks.

"Yes."

"Sounds nice."

"It was. Too bad it's not real." You yawn, burying your face in his chest again.

"It could be." Sky offers on instinct.

"What?" You ask, looking up at him.

Sky gives a nervous smile. "It could be real. If you meant that, if you actually want a life with me. If I'm miss reading-"

"Really?"

"Yes." Sky breathes out.

You smile, giddy and adoreable. "We're so talking about this later."

"After breakfast."

"Sounds lovely." You say, setting back down and closing your eyes. "I just want to lay here for now."

"Sounds perfect." Sky says, pulling you a little closer while fixing the blankets.

So, I'll be using @skepticbeliever-bookclub's lovely prompt list, but I'm opening the list up to any and all fandoms you've seen me reblog stuff for. If you want to ask for something else, just give it a shot! I may or may not treat Watcher requests preferentially on account of abovementioned competitiveness and favouritism but I'll try to hold back on that.

You had just recently moved in to a new neighborhood with your boyfriend, Todoroki Shoto. 

Your blissful domestic life with him was just about to begin and life couldn’t get any better than this. and yet...

Sometimes, it made you think if you were even worthy of his love. 

You were just a hero with a support quirk; with it being used for more science and field-related work as your powers made you manifest and create drinkable liquids that could change the physical appearance of a person (make them invisible, turn them into an animal, or even turn them back into a child or into an elderly person) for a limited time and depending on how strong or weak the solution. This means that through your quirk, you are able to tamper with a person’s DNA through these concoctions without any consequences. It was a powerful quirk, just like magic, yes, but can it be used for offense? Sadly not.

Shoto’s quirk was the exact opposite. Bearing the quirk of fire and ice, he was the definition of perfection. The perfect quirk, the perfect combination of two exact opposite elements, and how adept he is at using both of them. Often praised and hailed by the public for not only being extremely powerful, but also for how painstakingly handsome he is. You were just waiting for some controversial tabloid to talk about the No. 3 Pro Hero and his girlfriend who was way out of his league. 

Shoto constantly reassures you not to worry about them, never failing to calm you down with his gentle I love you’s and forehead kisses whenever he sees you tensed up and nervous, and never failing to tell you that you are the light of his life and his strength to continue fighting. and yet, it still worries you sometimes.

Today marks your 2 year anniversary. 

The two of you decide to go out on a simple date tonight at one of the best-reviewed restaurants in the neighborhood as the two of you were busy with throwing out the moving boxes and unwrapping your furniture, combined with the hero work that the two of you do during the day. Completely ruling out the possibility of being able to plan an elaborate anniversary date. 

But, it was alright. As cheesy as Shoto makes it sound, no day can ever become the worst, as long as he’s spending it with you. 

“Ah~ Those crepes were super yummy! Plus, the cafe was really cute!” You beam with a satisfying yawn, the two of you walking side by side, hand holding the other, and his arm wrapped around your shoulder for that extra warmth against the cold summer night. 

“Yea. There was a classy vibe to it. That was my first time trying a galette, and I must say that was tasty.” He remarks, turning to you. Your radiant and lively energy was infectious and he can’t help but smile. “Leave it to Mina and Sato to know all the best restaurants, I suppose.”

You nod contentedly and the two of you continue to walk back home in silence. Shoto looks around, taking in the sight and wondering if he could point out any small details about your surroundings that could make you laugh or smile. He notices a small shadow perk up from beneath a bush and he casually points at it. “Hmm? (Y/N), look over there.” 

You follow Shoto’s gaze and also notice the small shadowy figure. “Oh?”

The quiet sound of a purr could be heard from the bush. The two of you wait a little bit for the creature to reveal itself. A black cat pounces out of the plant, it’s beautiful green eyes staring back at you. “Meoooow.”

The cat walks up to you and you crouch down, putting your hand out, and wait patiently. Sure enough, the cat nuzzles against it. 

“Ahhh she’s so cute.” You observe the cat a bit more and notice it’s femme feline features. Shoto crouches down next to you and pats it’s head. Clearly the kitty seems to enjoy all this attention as she’s purring up a storm. “She is.” 

You glance at Shoto and notice how his eyes glimmered a different blue-grey light as he continued to play with the kitten. Pure bliss present in his face. His handsome and soft features make you blush, with the heat rising up to your cheeks, you quickly turn away before Shoto could notice you.

It was a simple formula after all. You could whip up a concoction, sprinkle in a little bit of natural aphrodisiac and that’s it! The recipe to the sexiest and kinkiest night of your life! Maybe you could show your love to Shoto in a different way than most girlfriends do to their boyfriends no?

“AHAH!” You suddenly jump up from the ground, your boyfriend perks up a little bit in surprise too. You then bring out your phone and begin scrolling through your notes. “Sho-kun! Come on! Be careful so we don’t trip.”

That night, you told Shoto to not wait for you as you had to brew up some potions for tomorrow as specially requested by a hero from your agency. Although reluctant at first to leave you, he intently watched you work your magic at  the little science lab in your house. The smell of the strong chemicals waft around the living room, prompting him to retreat back to your bedroom, but not without a quick kiss (that was about to turn into a make out session) before bed. 

“Happy anniversary, Love.” Shoto holds you by the waist, resting his head on your shoulder. The two of you swaying slightly to the non-existent rhythm and this makes you almost want to go to bed with him. “Shall we continue this tomorrow?” He peppers kisses down your neck, you giggle in response. 

“We shall.” You turn to him and deliver a kiss to his lips. You pull away before you could even begin to think of yearning for more. “I’m sorry if we had to cut our anniversary short. It’s your day off tomorrow right? I promise I’ll make it up to you.”

He nods first before giving you one last kiss, this time on the forehead. “Goodnight (Y/N). I love you.” 

“I love you too.” He pulls away. you watch him leave your lab first and make sure he’s out of sight before you get back to work. 

After a few more hours of solving the formula and crafting the recipe for a potion that doesn’t necessarily turn you into a cat, but rather, give you only cat ears and a cat tail, yu bring out a thermos bottle from the cupboard and pour in the liquid solvent along with the natural aphrodisiac. You stir it a little bit before using your quirk to add the finishing touch and to make it a viable and an actually working potion. 

“Can’t wait to drink this tomorrow.” You snicker to yourself, as you pour all of the liquid onto the thermos, storing it in the fridge and then proceed to go to your bedroom and finally hit the sack.

“AHH I’M LATE!” You rush out of the bedroom, messy bedhead hair, your hero suit not even fully zipped up, mismatched socks, and your bag tossing and turning, most of the contents falling out, your thermos being one of them. “I’M LATE FOR WORK! BYE! I LOVE YOU!” You greet Shoto who was eating his breakfast in the kitchen, planting him a farewell kiss on the cheek as you dash your way out of the house. 

“I l-love you too.” He bids goodbye with a wave, but you weren’t even there to hear it anymore. Shoto’s eyes cast downward, a bit disappointed that he wasn’t even able to greet you properly this morning and how your anniversary date felt so short even though you promised each other you would spend more time together later today. 

He then notices your water bottle on the ground. A sticky note that was labeled “Drink me!” was attached to it and of course as every other person would react once they see a note like that,

Shoto thought that was for him. 

“SHO! I’M BACK!” You call out to him, closing the door behind you. “Sho~?” You sing-song, peering through the kitchen and the living room but your boyfriend was nowhere to be seen. “Where are youuu?” You continue to traverse through your house, looking for him. You grind to a halt when you notice your thermos bottle on top of the dining table… All empty.

Oh no.

Oh no no no no.

“Shoto!” You call out, your voice cracking with nervousness. You rush to your bedroom, hoping and praying that he was there. Only… for the lights to be out. 

“Sho?” Your hand reaches out for the light switch. But, you hesitate. What if a demon had kidnapped your boyfriend and you had to save him!? What can your quirk even do to save him!?

“(Y/N)...” He finally responds. Although his tone was soft and still a bit suspicious, you breathe a sigh of a relief and finally turn on the lights.

The lights illuminate the room to reveal your boyfriend in his usual turtleneck fit that you always ogle at. You look up and down, noticing that this is still the same man you know and love and nothing bad actually happened until… 

You look up and behind him.

He’s still the same man you know and love. 

Just this time however. he’s a cat boy. 

“I drank the potion that you made.” He says ever so casually, nothing ever fazes him as usual. “It had a “drink me!” sticky note attached to it and I thought it was for me.” He continues to speak plainly. That was until he crossed his arms, his feet tapping the ground, and his cat tail waving behind him. “Please explain to me why I am now a cat boy.” 

“Well…” You began twiddling with your fingers, trying your very best not to make eye contact with him or else you would end up squealing in delight because of how adorable he looked. “You see, I made this potion to turn me into a cat girl so that I can… ya know… please you and stuff. I saw how affectionate you were with the cat we saw last night so.. I guess you can consider this as my late anniversary gift to you?” You laugh sheepishly, still trying your best not to look at him as his gaze intensifies. 

Shoto’s black and white cat ears twitch as he tries to stifle a laugh. “Fine. I forgive you. This will wear off eventually right?” You nod in response and Shoto’s shoulders slump down in relief. He was about to approach you and envelop you in a hug, until his legs wobbled midway and he practically fell down onto the floor. 

You rush to him and help him stand up, propping himself on the bed. “Sho… are you alright love?”

He starts breathing heavily, cat ears twitching once again, fingers trembling, lips quivering, and his face as red as a tomato. “(Y/N)... what was even in that potion you made?”

You suddenly remember the aphrodisiac you added to the recipe.

Shoto suddenly turns away from you before you could notice the bulge rising in his pants. He covers his face in embarrassment, refusing to look at you. 

“I also added some aphrodisiac and some catnip into the potion ahahaha…” You scratch the back of your neck. Shoto turns to you again, his eyes glowing like that of a cat and giving off a smoldering feeling. He shifts your position, gently yet somehow arduously pinning you down on the bed. Please carefully read through the bingo guidelines below before signing up. We made some fun changes this year to help you customize your card all year long.

2023 Darcy Lewis Bingo Guidelines

We’re making a few exciting changes this round!

To begin, four different types of bingo cards will be available for you to choose from in 2023:

Custom Bingo Cards: These are traditional 5x5 grid cards available to everyone who signs up early during the initial entry period in January. Prompts are assigned on these cards based on a simple questionnaire to determine the kinds of fanworks you like to create and your preferred types of prompts. Participants can choose to have 24 prompts + 1 free space or 25 prompts with no free space on these cards as part of the customization process.

Premade Bingo Cards: NEW FOR 2023—these 5x5 grid cards are available to anyone who signs up later in the year, after custom cards are delivered, when late signups open in the spring. (Early entrants may also choose a premade card in the spring to work from in addition to their custom card if a particular premade card theme appeals to their muse.) Each of these cards will have 25 prompts with no free spaces. Prompts available on these cards will be fandom typical, such as tropes, AUs, exclusively nsfw prompts, Darcy multishipper/rare pairs, etc. If there is a particular prompt you’d like to see, we’re open to suggestions for future premade, late entry cards.

Mega Bingo Cards: ALSO NEW FOR 2023—These are a new size card available to all bingo players on our Discord. Mega bingo cards will come in a 10x10 grid size. Every mega bingo card will be identical with 100 prompts total and no free spaces. Each square will have a one-word prompt that can be used to inspire fanwork creations like every other Darcy Bingo prompt—however a creator sees fit to use it or finds inspiration in it. Special reward badges are available to anyone who gets a bingo or a blackout on a 2023 mega bingo card.

Limited Edition Event Cards: UPDATED FOR 2023—These are another new size card for the 2023 round. Limited edition event cards will be premade 1x5 cards created for special occasions, such as Valentine’s Day, Marvel special occasions, Pride 2023, Halloween, and Winter Holidays. These premade cards will each have five prompts with no free spaces and will be made available 2-3 months before each holiday or event month. You’ll be able to choose your limited edition card from a group of 5-10 premade cards based on related themes. Special, limited edition reward badges will be issued to anyone who completes all five prompts on a limited edition bingo card in the 2023 calendar year.

Limited Edition event bingo card signups will be available exclusively to Darcy Bingo Discord server members. MCU special occasions may also be celebrated with limited edition cards. Halloween, Hanukkah, and Christmas, for sure, but maybe Anniversary of the Battle of New York or Steve Rogers’ red, white, & blue birthday, too…? Who knows?!

As always, creators may write or create as few or as many fics or pieces of artwork as you would like for each prompt. This bingo writing challenge and the prompts provided on each card are meant to inspire, never to stifle your creativity.

When to Begin: You are welcome to begin creating as soon as you receive your card(s). Custom bingo cards should be emailed to you within 30 days of signup, so if you signup on January 1st, you can expect to have your card in hand by February 1st.

Remember, all mega bingo cards will be identical with no customization at the start. Every mega bingo card will have the exact same prompts, but prompts can be traded and swapped during Discord bingo parties this round just like any traditional custom bingo card. The 2023 mega bingo card will be made available in our Discord for creators to save for your records and to work from all round long.

Only one custom card per person will be issued at the start of this bingo event round. If you blackout your 5x5 custom card or your 10x10 mega bingo card, you are welcome to choose one of our 5x5 premade cards to continue creating Darcy Lewis content. However, only one badge each will be issued for 2023 participation, and one each for both the 5x5 and 10x10 cards’ bingo and blackout challenges this round.

Additional badges may also be announced and awarded. Check out our Discord server for future announcements on additional 2023 reward badges.

Bingo Deadlines: There continues to be no deadline for completing a Darcy Lewis 5x5 bingo card or 10x10 mega bingo card for 2023. Creators may take as long as you like to finish a 5x5 or 10x10 bingo card for this round, even well into the following year.

Limited Edition 2023 cards must be completed by the deadline issued in Discord for the event and masterlists submitted by the end of calendar year 2023 to qualify for limited edition reward badges.

As long as this bingo exists, old 5x5 and 10x10 Darcy Lewis Bingo HQ cards completed with new creations will be honored.

Swaps: NEW FOR 2023 Because Darcy Lewis Bingo hosts monthly bingo parties on our Discord, where bingo players have a minimum of 4 opportunities every single month to swap, adopt, or earn additional prompt swaps during bingo party game play, there will be no instant swaps available immediately after custom cards are issued to bingo players.

Weekly Challenges: ALSO NEW FOR 2023 In fact, our Discord Weekly Challenge will present each bingo creator at least 4-8 additional opportunities every month for creators to swap prompts. If you create something for our Discord Weekly Challenge in the seven allotted days for that challenge, you may swap that creation and prompt in for any prompt square on any of your 2023 round cards: 5x5, 10x10, or limited edition 1x5 cards. But the creation must be posted by the end of that challenge week to qualify for a swap and the date of that challenge week swap should appear on your masterlist at the end of the 2023 bingo round to indicate you swapped it with a weekly prompt and when. Weekly Challenge fills can be banked all year and saved to use as swaps as needed until the end of calendar year 2023. Players are responsible for keeping track of their own banked Weekly Challenges. They may alternately be used immediately as swaps, if the creator chooses not to save them for later, once the challenge fill has been posted by the weekly deadline.

By our count, this means every creator has the opportunity to swap up to about 144 prompts in the 2023 round.

That’s a lotta swaps and opportunities to customize your bingo cards. 😉

How to Use Prompts: Remember that no prompt is required to be used exactly as it appears on your card. If you can justify how the prompt inspires the creation, that’s good enough for us.

Masterlists: You will need to provide a masterlist for completed bingo and blackout reward badges in the masterposts channel on our Discord or mention us @darcylewisbingohq on tumblr. Masterlists may be posted at any time for rewards in the 2023 round.

Returning Bingo Players: We ask that bingo players returning from the previous round complete at least one line of bingo on the previous round’s custom card before requesting a new custom card be created for them in 2023.

Requesting reward badges for completing earlier bingo rounds: If you have a custom card from an earlier round of Darcy Lewis Bingo that you never got to finish, but you’d like to keep creating for, we will also honor those rounds with new rewards for creators who complete a bingo line. (New rewards will not be issued for bingo lines of 5 prompts all completed entirely for Darcy bingo cards issued before June 21, 2022, however. This is when Grimey made the handoff of Darcy Bingo to new bingo management, Mods Turtles & ChrissiHR.)

Tags & Trigger Warnings: Please include trigger warnings when you publish your creations. Warning appropriately builds trust with your readers in the long term. Tagging accurately is important for this reason, as well. If trigger warnings are spoilers, put a warning in the tags that spoilers are in the end notes and then actually include the spoilers in the end notes. Tagging builds trust and encourages readers to return to read more of your work. Trust us on this and tag like you want readers to return.

How to Get Reblogged: Mention @darcylewisbingohq in the A/N on tumblr and use the tag #dlbingohq (all one word!) in the first five tags on tumblr to be included in our bingo roundups. Include any tags you’d like us to tag your work with, as well.

Posting Creations: Share your fill in one of the bingo fill channels on our Discord. A brief outline of what to include in your post is pinned in each of the fill and weekly challenge channels.

What Counts as a Fill?: Aesthetics, drabbles, one-shots, multichaptered fics, series, drawings, paintings, sculpture, social media AUs, gif edits, video edits, music video edits, moodboards, coloring pages, and playlists are all accepted fills.

What’s that? You craft or crochet?

That counts, too.

ANY CREATION inspired by your prompt counts.

Poetry? Yes.

Sidewalk chalk drawing? Yes.

Soap sculptures? Yes.

Bullet journal theming? Yes.

Watercolor? Yes.

Haiku written in glitter calligraphy? YES.

Peed in the snow creatively? As long as it’s inspired by a prompt on your bingo card, it counts. So yes. (We’re not your mom. Be weird, make stuff!)

One square = one bingo fill. If you write a multi-chaptered fic, each chapter can be considered a fill using a different prompt, or you may use just one prompt to inspire all your chapters.

You may use one prompt square per chapter or fill from up to two different Darcy Bingo cards at a time. Using two Darcy Bingo cards’ prompts on a single fill is permitted, but only if the prompts originate from two different cards. This includes custom cards (early signups), premade cards (late entries), mega cards, and limited edition cards. You also may combine up to two squares as long as they’re from two different Darcy Bingo cards in a single chapter.

When using prompts from two different Darcy Bingo cards, fill requirements still must be met for each prompt, so a 100-word minimum becomes 200 words minimum when stacking your two prompts from different cards into one fill—just like you’d stack your prompts for cross-fills with other bingos.

All characters, ships, reader inserts, OC’s, actors, crossovers, and AUs are permitted as long as Darcy Lewis is a substantive character contributing to the story or creation or part of a main pairing or polycule in your creation.

Your creation may include characters from other MCU movies or even other fandoms. Just remember it must include Darcy as a substantive character to count as a prompt fill.

All works created for this bingo should be new or previously unpublished. You may add new chapters to old works, however. You may not use previously published chapters of existing works or previously posted one-shots or creations to fill the prompts on your new card.

Minimum prompt fill requirements:

• 100 words for written works or word art, with the exception of poetry with a specific word or syllable count format (such as haikus)

• 1 image for artwork or handcrafts of any kind

• 6 images for social media AUs

• 6 elements or images for moodboards

• 10 songs for playlists

What Counts as a Fill (an addendum)

Just like writing a multichaptered fic, there’s more than one way to fill additional prompts on your bingo card without going down the rabbit hole and writing 25 different stories for every single prompt. (That sounds exhausting to us!)

If you’ve already written a fic you love, go ahead and make a playlist for it, too. Ten songs on a playlist counts as a fill! So does a moodboard! Or an aesthetic board. You can do a social media AU with two or three different IG account pages. Each mock IG page could count as a fill if it contains a minimum of 6 images. There are so many ways to use your prompts and world-build for your stories.

Explicit Teresa/Brenda fic, alternate universe modern setting. Teresa and Brenda meet in a bar and Thomas is an excellent wingman 😌. I also spent a lot of time researching cocktail names for this and I’m very proud of them give it a read!

Ben/Gally modern setting fic, created this for the glade bingo. Gally loses his childhood friend Ben and every year, on the anniversary, he receives a note. You’ll be okay. I think this is quite soft considering what it is. Benally vibes
