Once upon a time, when life was sandbox disputes and who got the swing first arguments, you'd even been friends. Now, in junior year of high school, you doubted she even remembered you. The same couldn't be said about you. You definitely remembered her.

"So, have you heard of the new girl?" Regina asked, twirling a lock of hair on her finger.

You were still sitting on the couch several hours later. It was beginning to get dark.

"Caty Heron or something?"

"Cady, yes. What do you think of her?" Regina bit her bottom lip, sucking it and chewing at it in her mouth. Back when you were younger, her mom would've chastised her. Mrs George was lax about a lot of things, but she could not stand fidgeting. Nowadays, though, you doubted she had the heart to say anything negative to her daughter.

"I..." You tilted your head, thinking. "I don't really think of her. We're in the same calc class and she seems smart. Talks to Aaron a lot."

"Does she?" Regina narrowed her eyes and huffed. "I thought so."

"What? Don't tell me you're still hung up on Aaron Samuels. C'mon." You scoffed. "That dude, pretty as he is-" You knocked at your head. "All fluff, no substance. Hollow."

"Oh, because you would know so much about guys." Regina crossed her arms and stared at you petulantly.

"Yes, I would. I'm practically one of them." You shrugged nonchalantly. "By the way, shouldn't you get home?"

Regina didn't answer and just looked at you. You looked back, unsure of what she was thinking. You glanced around, wondering if you'd missed something.

"You're still- I mean, you're... A lesbian." She said slowly as if it were a curse word.

You laughed before answering. "Yes, Regina, I am still a lesbian. Just like I told you I was back then." You frowned. "Is there, like, a problem?"

"No." She said simply, but it didn't seem particularly truthful. "You don't know about what happened with Janis, then?"

"No, I just know she had to switch schools. Why, was it something you did?"

"No." Again, didn't seem too truthful. "I don't have a problem with you being a lesbian."

Clearly, she was uncomfortable talking about it. Still, something was off. You were almost certain Regina had had something to do with Janis leaving. She was probably lying to you.

"You're not going home for dinner then." Better to drop it for now. It wouldn't do either of you any good to push her. "Will your dad be mad?"

"As if he even notices I'm gone," She rolled her eyes, settling more comfortably on the couch. "He's always on the phone."

"I have frozen pizzas we could pop in the oven."

"I'm not eating that processed shit. We're ordering in."

"Reg, I can't order takeout 'til dad sends me more money."

"I'm paying, dummy, don't even worry about it." She pushed off the couch and walked to the kitchen. You trailed after her. "Where are the menus?"

"There should be some in the cabinet over there."

The evening turned to night with you two on the couch, chatting and eating pizza. The TV was turned on eventually. Adult Swim was playing some anime about cowboys in space, but neither of you was really watching.

You'd missed her so much. You didn't like thinking about it much, but that was the truth. You'd missed her for even longer than the two years you'd been officially cut off from her life. She'd started pulling away long before the silent treatment began. You didn't like thinking about how much it had hurt, how you'd felt your world go bleak when she rejected you. You'd never been one for confrontation, that was Regina's job, so talking to her about the why and how of it all had never felt like an option.

You'd eventually gotten the hint. And now, after all this time, after she had left you so easily, you were letting her back in just as easily. As if you were back in that time, sitting in the sandbox peacefully making castles when she came up behind you, pulled at one of your pigtails, and demanded you share your buckets and shovel. You were helpless against her force.

There was probably something deeply unhealthy about your friendship. She was probably only coming back because it was convenient for her. She wasn't interested in making amends- hell, she probably didn't even think there was anything to amend, in the first place.

This had been the way you two had been since forever. Her ploughing through anybody in her way, you clinging to her as she went, just as much of a victim and a perpetrator.

The Regina you missed was the impression of a girl, braces on her teeth, grass stains on her sundress, and laughter on her lips. The Regina that perhaps, maybe, probably was still hidden somewhere in her, but at the same time was just not her. Who she was now, who you were now, were so utterly different from back then.

Watching her face, illuminated blueish by the light from the TV, so much older but still soft and young, framed by naturally blonde hair but bleached a lighter shade, you made your peace. You were probably being way too dramatic about all this, but it felt like a big moment in your half-baked teenage brain. You would take her back every time. You would let her leave every time. You would stay in place while she explored the world, and if she deigned to come back, you'd be waiting.

"Hey, Reg," You said, quiet but not exactly a whisper.

"What?" She looked up at you, just bent over the coffee table grabbing another slice of pizza.

"I missed you." You said, so earnestly it sounded jarring to even your ears.

She scrunched up her nose. "'Cause I bought you pizza?"

"Yeah," You laughed. "That too."

If you hadn't been looking so closely, you might've missed the brief lapse in her armour. It was in the softening at the corners of her eyes, in the slackening of her face, the give in her spine. Something like affection, like she'd missed you too.

"You're a weirdo."

You only laughed more.

The moment passed and you continued eating and talking and watching TV. You must've fallen asleep at some point after Regina went to remove her makeup. Eventually, you couldn't tell when, you woke up to the sun shining through the blinds right into your eyes.

Shit. It was Monday. You pawed around yourself for your phone, flipped it open, and checked the time. Shit, indeed. You nudged Regina with your toe.

"Reg..." She didn't even stir. "Reg!" You pushed harder, causing her to groan and whine.

"What? Five... M're mins..." She mumbled into the cushion, curling up tighter.

"We're late for school, Reggie, c'mon we gotta go." You momentarily contemplated if it was worth even going in. Your dad would be busting a lung at the missed calc class anyway. But did you want to give him more reasons to yell at you? No, not really.

"I gotta go, c'mon." You moved towards her and really shook her.

"What?" She grumped at you. To be honest, it was really cute. She had dust around her eyes, sleep still lingering in her limbs. You'd touched her shoulder, covered by the knit blanket you'd given her last night, but you could feel how warm she was.

"School. It's Monday morning, sleepyhead."

It took no more than that for the reality to set in for her. Cursing up a storm and running around like a headless chicken, Regina tried gathering all her things that'd somehow ended up scattered around the night before. Her perfume was in the alcove by the front, her charger in the kitchen, hairbrush in the bathroom.

"Do you want a ride?" You asked before heading upstairs to change. Couldn't go to school in just Spiderman boxers.

"I have nothing to wear!" She screeched, glaring at you as if you'd caused this. She was the one who wanted to stay the night, jeez.

You held up your hands in surrender. "You can borrow some of my stuff."

"As if you have anything remotely fitting. You dress like a hobo." She said all that while climbing up the stairs past you, heading for your room. "A hobo with a liking to grunge music, nonetheless."

You walked after her, listening but not feeling the need to add anything. Once she got to your door and you went to follow, she whirled around.

"Uh, I'm gonna change." She sassed, though the intimidation was made less effective by the bareness of her face and the messiness of her hair. You smiled and gestured for her to go on.

"Be my guest." As if she needed the invitation.

To her credit, it didn't take long for her to pick something to wear, wash her face, and do her hair. In the meantime, you used the hallway bathroom to freshen up yourself. She stepped out wearing the same white tank top as the night before, over it a short-sleeve button-down in a glossy, satin black, and a black skirt she'd probably found at the very back of your closet. The button-down was neatly cinched around her waist and the skirt discreetly rolled up to be shorter than it really was.

The shirt was probably the nicest thing you owned. Something a relative had gotten you for your birthday. Versace or something like that.

"I'm going to have to go to school in sneakers, jorts." She pointed at you accusingly, leaning over threateningly where you sat on the floor. You looked up at her and just shrugged. What could you do?

She rolled her eyes and waved you away. You took the cue that it was your turn. You didn't bother closing the door behind you. Some wash jeans from the back of your desk seemed clean enough. You sniffed them just in case. Not too funky, but definitely not fresh. They'd have to do. You chucked the hoodie, sprayed on some deodorant, and replaced it with a short-sleeve flannel. You looked into the mirror and checked your hair was okay before grabbing your backpack.

"Okay, let's go." You turned to see Regina staring at you incredulously.

"That's it? That's your morning routine?" Leaning against the doorway, you couldn't help but notice she looked fantastic. It was a real talent of hers, looking so good all the time.

"Usually, I'd eat breakfast." You herded her out of the door. "Do you need to get your things?" She probably didn't have any of her school stuff.

"No, I didn't unpack my purse before coming here." She said, checking said bag as she did. "I'll do my makeup in the car, drive sensibly."

"Psh, as if you need to tell me. You're the speed demon, from what I've heard."

"There's nothing wrong with the way I drive, grandma."

"Until you get your license revoked, speedster."

Needless to say, Regina was not impressed by your 2001 Corolla. And though she complained the whole way to school, she still sat in the front seat, doing her makeup, there was no heat behind her words. You arrived in the middle of the third period. Nobody was out and about, much to Regina's relief. You parted ways with a wiggle of her fingers and a finger salute from you. You sat in the car for a moment, just breathing and thinking.

She didn't say thank you, didn't say she had a good time, didn't even bother pretending she'd enjoyed your company. It seemed like a relief she was finally getting away from you. Was that how she felt?

Now that your friendship had progressed beyond small talk while you worked and pleasantries over dinner, being ignored at school felt a lot more hurtful.

It was sobering, how she could goss and laugh with you on your couch and then act as if being seen with you in public was social suicide.

What made it feel even worse was that it was true. If Regina was seen hanging around you, god knows what the piranhas that were the student body would do. It would end with either or both of you ostracized or worse. Regina could bend minds and shift opinions like it was a superpower, but even she had her limits.

You got out of the car, locked it, and ambled towards Spanish class.

In this post I have compiled all the information I could find regarding upcoming events for the Rainbow Week of Action. There are two online events, and dozens on in-person events across the country.

"Within the Rainbow Week of Action, we are pushing governments and elected officials at every level to take action for Rainbow Equality and address rising anti-2SLGBTQIA+ hate. As such, we have identified calls to action for every level of government. These calls to action can be reviewed here."

A/N: im sorry for the delay on an update low key lost the motivation for this but I regained motivation so here you go

“Hey guys what is up? What’s the hot goss of the first day of school?” A woman who you are assuming is Regina’s mom says as you all entered the house “hey mom, not much happened today but we were planning on using the pool while the sun’s still out and warm” Regina replied “ooo totally fun I’ll get you guys some snacks and drinks” “thanks mom we’re gonna go upstairs and change” you all went upstairs to the large guest room were Regina kept extra clothes and swimsuits for the group which you thought was really cool. “Ok boys you can change in here or the bathroom and us girls will go in my room” Regina said as everyone grabbed their swimsuits “I think I’ll change in her with the boys since there’s a lot of us” Janis says heading over with Aaron and Damien “are you sure?” Cady asked “yeah so we can be ready faster” Janis says with a half convincing smile, in reality she’s just not ready to change near you, it’s taken her a lot of time to build her confidence to feel comfortable enough to change in front of Regina and the other three girls with their “perfect” bodies as Janis likes to describe them. “Hmm ok if that’s what you want” Cady says not convinced “yep” Janis says heading to the other room. “Here y/n you can try these on and whatever fits or you’re more comfortable with you can wear” Regina says handing you a few bathing suits “thank you” you say with a smile “um you can go change in the bathroom if that’s more comfortable for you” Regina says pointing to the closed door behind you “oh yeah totally” you say and go in the bathroom to get changed. everyone gets done changing and the boys plus Janis are waiting in the kitchen for the rest of you. “Ok pool time” Regina says as she walks towards the sliding glass door that leads to the pool “sunscreen” Cady says handing you two different ones (the spray kind and the lotion kind) you take the one you like “thanks cads” you start putting sunscreen on but can’t really get your back, Cady’s busy helping Regina so you decided “hey Janis could you help me out?” “Oh um yeah sure, just your back?” She asks walking up behind you “yeah thank you so much you’re a life saver” you say with a small laugh as she helps put sunscreen on your back. With your back to her you miss the redness that’s starting to form on her cheeks, she’s blushing. “Omg Regina look” Gretchen whispers to Regina pointing at you and Janis “aw they’re adorable” the boys and Janis decide to have a squirt gun fight “if I get sprayed y’all are going home” Regina says half joking, you laugh a little sitting at the edge of the pool with your feet in the water. You’re just chilling when you see Aaron pointing his gun at you giggling a little “AARON DONT YOU DARE” you say trying to block your face “don’t worry I’ll save you you hear someone say causing you to move you hands from your face to see Janis absolutely soaking Aaron. Janis walks over to you and you stand up “my hero, how can I ever repay you?” You say draping your arms on her shoulders “a date, perhaps?” Janis says blushing a little “oh a date?” You say with a smile, blushing “you can say no…” Janis says looking down at the ground “how could I say no to you, I’d love a date just give me details” you say with a wink, walking away from her to grab a snack. Janis watches you walk away, she won’t admit it but she was definitely staring at you, admiring every inch of you thinking about how beautiful you are. About an hour later everyone has had enough pool time “movie night? I know we have school so if you can’t I understand but you know my mom is always ok with sleepovers” the group agrees that it would be fun. Everyone showers while Regina’s mom orders pizza and gets a couple snack trays together. Everyone gathers in the living room. Regina, Cady, Gretchen, and Karen on the big couch that folds out like a bed, the boys on the smaller couch that does the same, and you and Janis are sitting next to each other on the air mattress and are sharing a blanket.

“So what movie are we watching?” Damian asks looking a Regina since she has the remote “can we wat-“ Cady goes to speak “if you suggest the lion king again I swear to god Cady, love you to death but please we’ve seen that so many times” Aaron says, Cady crosses her arms and lays on Regina visibly grumpy “it’s ok princess I’ll watch it with you soon, don’t be grumpy” Regina whispers to Cady giving her a kiss on the forehead “ooo what about that one movie with the blonde girl who’s like really smart and goes to that one smart people school?” Karen says “OH MY GOODNESS LEGALLY BLONDE?” Damian says sitting up, excited “yeah that one” Karen says with a smile “wait we watched that last movie night” Gretchen says with a slight head tilt “ok hear me out, Lilo and Stich?” You say “yesss please I love that movie” Janis looked up at Regina “ok who want to watch Lilo and Stich? Raise your hand” Regina asks, you and Janis immediately put your hands up, Karen and Cady also put their hands up “you know what yeah let’s watch it” Aaron says also putting his hand up “ok so Lilo and Stich it is” Regina says with a small laugh and puts on the movie ���yay you say eating a slice of pizza and without thinking you start leaning on Janis, she doesn’t mind she thinks it’s cute and keeps eating her food while watching the movie. Regina secretly takes a picture of the two of you. As the movie continues you start feeling sleepy, Janis wraps her arm around you and plays with your hair as you slowly doze off “awww” Damian says looking at the two of you “shhh, D she’s sleeping” Janis says giving him a slight glare. Cady is asleep and so are Gretchen and Karen. There’s still about 15 minutes left of the movie and Janis is starting to doze off. You wrap your arms around Janis more in your sleep, you’re both lying on the floor. Regina is the last one awake and decides to take another picture and smiles at how adorable the two of you look before she decides to try sleeping too.

每次去 Calgary 最重要的目的都一樣：取護照！所以 Day 5 一早起來再次享用酒店早餐後，我們就收拾行李 check-out 離開 Days Inn Airport，然後去只有週二上午才開門、巴巴閉閉的中國領事館拿護照。之後由於回程需時，也沒再多作停留，直接出發去晚上留宿的 Moose Jaw 了！

繼續詳文之前，也多講一點點：在眾多加拿大城市中，Winnipeg 算是很不方便的，很少國際航線也算了，每次要辦理甚麼重要文件都要到別的城市去，中國領事館如是，日本領事館及美國領事館也如是；身邊要辦美國簽證的朋友，也像我們密密往 Calgary 跑。甜魔家已經第二次來領事館，這次是老公要拿新護照，他一人去取證，我們連拍照都懶了，取完證就往 SK 省方向駛去。

由 Calgary 去 Moose Jaw 大概要7小時，我們中間在 Calgary Costco 及 Medicine Hat Costco 都停了一會，分別是入油去廁所、買輕食午餐、再入油再去廁所，然後一口氣駛到 Moose Jaw。由於中間的兩場停頓，抵達 Moose Jaw 時已經天黑了，大家也餓了，就先去 Boston Pizza 吃晚餐。

關於 SK 省甜魔媽媽沒有很多著墨，因為該省的確比 MB 省更少人更荒蕪，去年回程時留宿的 Swift Current 如是，這次留宿的 Moose Jaw 也一樣，不能期望找到甚麼合心意的亞洲菜了，安安份份的吃鬼佬餐吧！BP 的出品不會驚艷，但起碼 family friendly，而且兩兄妹至今還未吃厭。

講真，只要不追求亞洲美食或用品，生活在 SK 省或 MB 省，只幫襯西式超市、只吃西餐的模式是完全沒有問題的，還屋大路闊，生活不知幾寫意呢。

  當晚住宿 Best Western Plus Moose Jaw，房間挺大還有 Kitchette，雖然其實我們一點也用不著；會預訂這裡主要為了它的滑水梯，因為預計到小小 Moose Jaw 市並沒甚麼好玩，舟車勞頓一天後，讓兩兄妹開心玩玩水最好。

媽媽一早過了滑水梯的年紀，給兩兄妹用手機拍照留念，又陪他們去 Jacuzzi 泡一會兒已經非常滿足了。當然最辛苦的還是爸爸，不得不讚這次選搭 Pathfinder 出遊可以使用 Auto-Pilot 模式，已經減省了不少辛勞；但在飽餐一頓後還是早早去睡吧～～～

來到 Day 6 早上，酒店是包自助早餐的，一家四口可以吃飽飽，甚至去 Gym Room 稍稍減一減肥（主要是 Matthew 啦...），然後約11時才 check-out 出發。

由 Moose Jaw 回 Winnipeg 要6個半小時，我們目標是天黑前回去，所以中間只在 Regina Costco 稍停加一加油，之後在 Brandon 來頓 A&W drive-thru 午餐，就一個大直路回 Winnipeg 了～

都忘了照片是何時拍才會看到紅霞，總之在 SK 及 MB 的路上大多是一片荒蕪，最大的娛樂已是車上的音響／預早下載的影片了。最終，我們在日落前順利抵達 Winnipeg 家中，Calgary 第二次 Road Trip 完滿結束。

相比之前的 Vancouver 或緊接 2/10 - 2/16 進行的 Toronto 旅程，驟看 Calgary 的美食行程沒那麼緊湊豐富，其實很大原因是因為花了太多時間在車程／取護照上。接著5月又有一個機會／藉口又要再訪 Calgary，那次將會搭飛機，也會住宿 Downtown 品嚐更多美食，到時再作分享吧！😎

Understanding The Three Types Of Podcasts

“Someone without a podcast.”

“Wait, there’s still someone left who doesn’t have a podcast?”

When TV execs talked about peak TV a few years ago, they discussed the 450 or so original TV shows that were now on broadcast and streaming.

Now imagine this. By some counts, there are over a million podcasts!

Amid that flood of podcast shows, chaos seems to ensue.

So let’s bring some clarity to the flood of podcasts.

Let’s take those million or so podcasts and divide them into three basic types.

Type # 1 Podcasts That Inform

Type # 2 Podcasts That Persuade

Type # 3 Podcasts that Entertain

Type # 1 Podcasts That Inform

An argument can be made that in the early days of podcasting, informative podcasts were the pioneers in the industry. Long-time podcasts like Stuff You Should Know, Grammar Girl, Nutrition Diva, Hardcore History and more dotted the early podcast landscape with episodes on topics not available in other media formats.

In the early days, Leo Laporte began his tech podcast empire with This Week In Tech (TWIT) and Tech News Today.

A podcast about science fiction book genre, Sword And Laser, began in 2008 with hosts Tom Merritt and Veronica Belmont and is close to 400 episodes.

As podcasts came into existence, their initial attraction to listeners was their ability to tackle subjects considered too niche by other media formats like television, radio or journalism.

Even today, some of the most popular podcasts address topics simply too arcane for other media formats. For example, 99% Invisible is a consistently popular podcast about design. Business Wars is a Wondery podcast about the battle of companies in a specific industry, such as UPS vs FedEx or Pizza Hut vs Domino’s.

This “informational model” continues today because unlike radio or TV, there are restrictive time restraints. Podcasts can be six or 60 minutes. That’s another reason why YouTube has prospered as a place to learn everything from laying vinyl flooring to playing the acoustic guitar.

Longer-form informational podcasts like Freakonomics and Cautionary Tales also excel at immersive and mind-bending thought experiments that revel in the counterintuitive.

Today, short-form informational podcasts have blossomed. The award-winning Curiosity Daily podcast is relentlessly upbeat and can back up its marketing claims about making you smarter. In less than 10 minutes, you’ll get a unique mix of research-based life hacks, the latest science and technology news, and more. Curiosity Daily has a panoramic view with no topics out of bounds. For example, one day, it covers “The Zoomies” when your cat darts across the room for no apparent reason to why vision is important to babies in the womb. They even produce more behavior-based mini-stories such as a recent episode about “How to avoid not giving up after a mistake.”

Short Wave is a National Public Radio (NPR) podcast that gives us a sneak peek behind the science headlines — all in about 10 minutes, every weekday. It’s science for everyone, using a lot of creativity and a little humor.

Hosts Emily Kwong, Aaron Scott, and Scientist-In-Residence Regina G. Barber can do a sub -10-minute deep dive on subjects such as the woman who discovered radio waves emitted by dying stars called pulsars, how climate change affects certain breeds of chipmunks, the shaky benefits of multivitamin usage, and the myth of plastic recycling.

Type # 2 Podcasts That Persuade

Podcasts didn’t start off with robust a slate of political podcasts. Two things have happened to change the landscape. First, the American people have become as polarized as the earth’s magnetic fields and second, the election of — and then defeat of — Trump energized opposition forces.

Where the television has disintegrated into a minefield of screaming people who are more interested in demonizing others than dealing intelligently in a shared set of facts, podcasts have, for the most part, set the bar for a higher level of discourse with KCRW’s Left Right & Center, The Political Gabfest, Ken Rudin’s Political Junkie and the moderate’s refuge The Purple Principle.

When you listen to KCRW’s podcast Left Right & Center for the first time, it’s like bathing in ideas, civility, respectful disagreement and rhetorical chess play. KCRW is a Santa Monica CA-based NPR station with an impressive slate of podcasts.

The weekly podcast, which is about 55 minutes long, is now moderated by rotating hosts who all excel at keeping the podcast focused, articulate, insightful and, most of all, free from the vitriol of most other shows with talking heads from divergent political ideologies.

And true to the mission of the podcast, the host who is the “center” artfully points out the holes in the viewpoints of liberals and conservatives. From a flow perspective, Left Right & Center excels at escaping the mud pit of mutually destructive invective and seems to move to the next topic at just the right moment.

Information-rich shows like NYT’s The Daily and Vox’s Today Explained are top-rated podcasts and attempt a delicate balancing act of daily, investigate reporting with an earnest attempt at objectivity, which in today’s world is like balancing a knife at the end of your nose.

Certainly, there are extremist podcasts on both ends of the political spectrum, but unlike in TV where rhetorical combat is a ratings’ winner, podcasters tend to stay in their lane because audio only of screaming people is too much like that family Thanksgiving dinner in between football games.

Type # 3 Podcasts that Entertain

The grandparent of entertaining podcasts is the NPR radio show that morphed into a highly successful podcast, Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me!. Even during COVID-19 restrictions, Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me! regularly topped the podcast rating charts and has done so for years. As large companies have jumped into the podcasting space, their hook invariably revolves around entertainment-type podcasts. When Amazon announced its podcast service, it did so with new podcasts being touted and most are entertainment podcasts — DJ Khaled, Dan Patrick and a true-crime show. Other large companies like Spotify are firing up new programming with celebrities leading a roster of standard interview shows. Of course, the popular Joe Rogan podcast has attracted a large audience for several years, but it remains to be seen if the comedian can continue unfettered on Spotify after Rogan had to apologize for blaming forest fires in Oregon on arson by leftist radicals, his misinformation episode on the COVID vaccine, and his fascination with transphobic commentary.

Finally, podcasts have excelled so far by positioning themselves in spaces that TV, radio and print typically ignore and simply are not that effective at covering. As larger companies begin to become significant content players in the podcasting space, there is a danger that podcasts gradually become homogenized and lose their distinctiveness. For every interchangeable celebrity interview podcast coming our way, we desperately need more unique shows like Intelligence Squared: U.S. Debates, All The Wiser, On The Media, No Stupid Questions, Sticky Notes, Tagline, and Hidden Brain.

1. THE NIGHTS- AVICII This is a song that when I put it on, it reminded me of Sky in mostly a metaphorical way.  His parents died before he could remember them, and so his dad wouldn’t have told him this literally, but I feel maybe the symbol of him has been telling Sky, ‘carpe diem.’

2. SECRETS- ONE REPUBLIC Disclaimer: this song is not on here because of Sky telling other people’s secrets.  When I listened to this song, it reminded me of Goodbye (and the threads after such as the one where they meet again, and the one after Fallout), it reminded me of The Emergency, and it reminded me of Nachos Pizza.  Sky had something that he couldn’t get out for years, and now he seems to be at a place where he’s ready to share how he feels with his family.  With Ali, he had his past to hide because he thought Ali was human, but the moment he saw that that was not the case, he was ready to clear the air immediately.

So tell me what you want to hear Something that will light those ears I'm sick of all the insincere So I'm gonna give all my secrets away

3. WHEN CAN I SEE YOU AGAIN?- OWL CITY This reminds me of when Sky and Ali met, and they were flirting with each other in class, and they were talking over coffee.

THE FOUNDATIONS OF DECAY- MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE Well, this one’s self-explanatory.  Finding a song from MCR was sort of difficult because Sky himself is not so…I don’t know, mean?  But literally every time I hear this song even out of RP context I think about Sky and the discord thread where he constructed a plan to go to two MCR concerts.  

10. ALONE TOGETHER- FALL OUT BOY This song was both a choice to add more of his actual music taste to the playlist, and these lyrics sticking out to me:

Cleopatra in Brooklyn - Frank Turner

Chosen for the title obviously, but the lyrics capture the royal/5b arc pretty well, I think. The narrator carries this tongue-and-cheek comparison of the woman he’s singing to to Cleopatra through the whole song, comparing himself to Marc Antony, and ending with this really earnest kind of declaration. I’m obsessed with this songwriter he’s a genius please give him a listen.

1. Thorton Galena G240 > €$ 13,000 (Regina)

Rusty hunk of junk but functional, especially after your car gets bodied in the beginning of Act 2. Located in the garage of your apartment building.

2. Makigai MaiMai P126 >  €$ 14,000 (Wakako)

Small. Super fucking small but decent and could turn into a red bullet on the highway at the cost of absolutely no control on your turns. Located in the southern part of Charter Hill, Westbrook sitting neatly in a small parking lot.

3. Mahir Supron FS3 >  €$ 16,000 (Reyes)

Sort of van type situation but compact. Cheap and definitely made of plastic. Like it says that in the lore. Located East from Hargreaves St waypoint in Arroyo.

4. Chevillon Thrax 388 Jefferson >  €$ 17,000 (Padre)

It’s a smooth ride, I’ll give Padre that. Long in length and takes years to turn with but it’s not made for street racing so it’s still decent for traffic and looking like a corpo. Located directly South of the Pumping Station waypoint in Wellsprings.

5. Villefort Columbus V340-F Freight >  €$ 19,000 (Dino)

Another van-type situation with plenty of seating. Could drive your kids to soccer with this one and get there in one piece. Average vehicle overall but can go 210mph if needed. Located SouthWest of the Downtown Central waypoint and sitting in a parking lot.

6. Thorton Galena “Gecko” >  €$ 21,000 (Dakota)

Found in the Badlands this is a great choice for rocky roads at 100mph. Go crazy and go stupid outside the city with this bad boy. Shred rubber and whatnot. Be wary of turns and speed in rocky areas as you can make as much airtime as a dirtbike on a ramp! Located SouthWest of the Old Turbines waypoint in the Eastern Badlands.

Right after Jackie’s Arch, this is my favorite ride in the game. She’s sleek, perfect for bypassing traffic, and very well-designed. Located in an abandoned parking lot in Japantown, Westbrook directly NorthEast of the Skyline and Salinas waypoint.

8. Archer Quartz EC-L R275 > €$ 29,000 > 12 cred (Regina)

Another great set of wheels for burning rubber and kicking up sand in the Badlands, if you have the eddies for it. Located South of the Offshore St waypoint in Northside and immediately next to a Neutralize the Perps mini quest.

9. Chevillon Emperor 620 Ragnar >  €$ 32,000 > 12 cred (Dino)

First of the heavy duty SUV you acquire at 30k eddies. Didn’t drive this one very much since I’m a small and sleek kinda dude but if you need to ram a taxi or show off to your video game girlfriend your chunky ride, here is the car for you. Located in Corpo Plaza SouthWest of Arasaka Tower waypoint or NorthWest of Reconciliation Park waypoint.

10. Villefort Cortes V5000 Valor >  €$ 37,000 > 12 cred (Padre)

If you want to look like an asshole you can check this one out. Pretty much a bougie limosine type situation. Long car so long turns my guy. Located in Wellsprings, Heywood sitting in a parking lot West of Berkeley & Bay waypoint. 11. Thorton Colby C240T (aka Thorton Colby C125) >  €$ 39,000 > 20 cred (Regina)

Vehicles to pick up your gf/bf and go to a drive-in theater with? This one. Smooth ride with plenty of seating to do you know what at said drive-in theater definitely not watching Bushido 3. Located Northside, Westbrook South of the Docks waypoint in a small parking lot in front of the Ded Zed clothing store.

Imma be honest... I’m a slut for Thorton car models. This one is straight up satisfying to my ears and eyes. Located in the parking lot of PieZ waypoint in Rancho Coronado, Santo Domingo.

Truckin and fuckin around the Badlands? This is definitely the car for you!  Located near the Sunset Motel parking lot in the Eastern Badlands.

Not gonna lie, this is the car that occupies my headspace every time I boot up Cyberpunk. Maybe it’s the name, maybe it’s the design, maybe it’s the car I would take to my honeymoon, idk. Located in the same garage as the Thorton Galena in Little China, Watson.

Okay other than Beast which is a chonky beast this one is a very speedy beast with classic racecar features but bulky armor. The wiki literally says this ride has 666 horsepower so you KNOW this shit is gonna slap as soon as you get in and hear that engine, dawg.  Can be found in Little China, Watson in Megabuilding H10.

Like, you know what you’re signing up for at 100k eddies for Dakota. Like this car that was originally used for scooting around the city was LITERALLY modded for the Badlands. As a Nomad this is a must-have. Located in the Eastern Badlands, North of the Sunshine Motel waypoint.

23. Thorton Mackinaw MTL1 >  €$ 128,000 > 30 cred (Reyes)

The most SUV that ever SUV’ed in Night City. Reyes calls you for this one and shit, it’s new, it’s spotless, it’s a shiny new car, and trouncing down Badlands, the streets of Kabuki, Pacifica, name it. This beaut does go maximum of around 150mph but with how big this bad boy is, it can charge through the highways but be wary of how you turn corners! Located around the block from the Red Dirt Bar waypoint to the East in Arroyo, Santo Domingo.

24. Quadra Turbo-R 740 >  €$ 129,000 > 30 cred (Wakako)

TURBO-TASTIC ride. Again, of racecar design, you can almost smell the 1980s nostalgia from the picture alone. Located in the Dynalar building/waypoint in Charter Hill, Westbrook.

Writing this guide up to this point I have discovered that Old Lady Wakako knows what “fucking nova” means because all the cars she offers are fucking bangers so of COURSE she would offer an ARCH bike like this bumblebee badboy. You can see all the fun bits in and around the bike to know what you’re getting into so expect some hella smooth sailing. Located on the way TO the Drive-In Theatre in the lot of the Gig: A Shrine Defiled. South of Drive-in Theatre, North Oak, Westbrook.

Dino actually coming in clutch with this last call for vehicles he offers. Like, I had to look up what “hypercar” meant to logistically know how hype this car makes me every time I hit the gas. At high speeds the engines purr like a cat, which is a whole other satisfying experience after driving hunks of junk. Located West of the Corporation St. waypoint in Downtown, City Center.

27. Rayfield Aerondight S9 “Guinevere” >  €$ 225,000 > 50 cred (Wakako)

Um... so... this is- this is the last car from Wakako. I haven’t even gotten to the point of being able to afford this... this... work of art. I can only imagine, with the Rayfield brand, that it’s better than the Caliburn. Which I don’t even think that’s possible but once I buy it I’ll let you know. Located North of the Columbariam or directly West of the North Oak Sign waypoints in North Oak, Westbrook.
