NUMBER 9 FOR THE SOFT OTP what would they wear to a merc wedding
9.) Write about your ship getting dressed up in fancy outfits together. (tagging @nightcxty for requesting the same prompt <3)
cw: mentions of gore (of course)
Dagger patted down the pockets of the dead man before he ripped off his shirt. He frowned at the half pack of cigarettes he found in the breast pocket of the silken jacket–leave it to a corpocunt to smoke menthol. He plucked one out and lit it anyway. With a sigh of smoke, he slid into the button down he’d pulled from the corpse. The fabric was stiff from a fresh dry clean and was probably the nicest thing he’d worn since his Sunday best at eight years old. He remembered why he hated it. The waistcoat wasn’t any better, delicate pinstripes elongating an already lanky form. He cinched the buttons with bloody fingers. Any attempt at cleaning the smear of red against the brass made it worse, but it was hard to see beneath the garish stain where he’d plunged the knife into the man anyway. Dry cleaning wouldn’t fix that one.
The jacket was the only piece which had miraculously survived without blood, and he elected to leave it with the dead man–a compromise for taking the tie. He couldn’t believe he remembered how to fix it, fingers working on memory as he delicately slid the knot to his throat. His mama would be proud. It almost brought a smile to his lips.
“You look like an asshole,” Dum Dum’s voice chimed like static from behind him.
He turned to find him half dressed. He’d managed alright with the pants, but his shirt was missing and he had knotted the tie around his waist like a belt.
“It’s supposed to go around your neck, dipshit.”
“Nah. Felt like it was choking.”
Dagger took a drag from his cigarette, studying him with a raised brow. “And the shirt?”
“Fucking straightjacket.”
“Jesus christ.”
“Well what about you?” Dum Dum said, gesturing to the stain seeping into the fabric of his clothes. “You got blood all over.”
“He was a gusher. Couldn’t be helped.”
“You could’ve shot him like I did.” He gestured back to the second body only a few feet away face down in a puddle of it’s own gray matter. The alleyway where they stood would soon be flooded with a cadre of pigs and corp security. They couldn’t linger much longer, and they wouldn't. They were on a time crunch anyway.
Dagger finally ripped his knife from the husk below him, flipping it idly between his fingers. A bullet. He scoffed.
“I’m stuck in these damn clothes, ain’t I at least entitled to some fun?” He threw the cigarette down into a pool of blood and picked the abandoned jacket up from the ground. “‘Least wear this. Not fair I’m the only one suffering.”
Dum Dum growled, but swung the jacket on anyway. The fabric pulled tight over his chrome and it’s sleek edges looked out of place sitting against scarred flesh, but Dagger decided it was an improvement upon the last owner. Cold eyes scanned him and almost warmed. He felt a spotlight reflected back at him as Dum Dum met his gaze with a smile that matched his own.
Neither of them wanted to say it, but it was true.
They looked good.
Sirens bounced off the distant walls of the city like a countdown and they took their cue to head back toward the car parked down the block.
“We’ll burn ‘em after the party,” Dagger mentioned at the passenger’s side door. He took one more look at Dum Dum as they slid into his chevillon, committing the image to memory. He had no doubt they clothes would look even better on the floor.
Dum Dum’s grin said the same.
#oc: dagger#dum dum#x: perfect drug#my fic tag#of course it would be this way UwU#thank u this one was fun hehe

4, 15, 27, 28 for Salem <33
Thank you, bestie! 🥰🤗
[CP2077 OC Asks]
4. what tarot card from the major arcana would you associate with them?
I really don't want to be cliche but I've always associated the Death card with Salem.
Upright: transformation, endings, change, transition, letting go, release Reversed: fear of change, repeating negative patterns, resisting change, stagnancy, decay
It pretty much tells Salem's entire story. It starts with the reversed meanings, Salem stuck in a toxic cycle of bad habits and his inability to let go of his grief and trauma. He's slowly killing himself and he was prepared to let it happen.
However, one thing led to another, by chance or by fate, and his story slowly transitions to the upright meanings. He seeks help in his own Salem way, he's allowing himself to heal and he's cutting out the toxic elements of his life. Salem learned to let go of his pain and learned to accept change for the better. The chapter of his sadness is closed, and a new story, one that's happy, warm and full of love, begins.
15. what is their preferred vehicle or transportation of choice?
Salem drives a blacked out Chevillon Thrax. Sleek and yet subtle. No other flash or pizzazz to it. Very Salem. His other means, would be flight via his raven form. 🤭Boy loves to stretch his wings out from time to time.
27. have they ever had run ins with the badges?
He has, yes! There's actually some deep lore to this that I never really got a chance to go furthur into detail. 😅 Long story short, Salem does have a criminal record--mostly consisting of misdemeanors such as resisting arrest, DUI's, disorderly conduct, aggravated assault and drug possession. There was also an incident where he was charged with 'inciting a riot' during one of his shows when things got a little to chaotic (might have borrowed this from Ghostemane 🤭)
There's also a big one that's much more serious and that jump starts Salem's recovery arc. Around 2075 or so, Salem hit rock bottom. He was at his darkest and decided to go on a bender. The details are kinda foggy since I'm still working this out. But what ends up happening is that Salem, heavily under the influence, very publicly and loudly wrecked havoc in Night City which resulted in a stand off between himself and the NCPD. One of the final charges was 'evading arrest in a stolen vehicle', just to give a glimpse of what went down. Cue some law shit and some possible outside help, but the final sentence was court mandated rehab, along with probation and community service (since it was argued that Salem committed his crimes while under great personal stress and was not in his right mind). Which is how Salem finds his way to rehab because he sure as heck wouldn't have done it himself.
Like I said, still working out the wrinkles in this one 🤭But it is a big part of his story.
28. are they quick to help a stranger in need or do they prefer to stay out of other peoples business?
It depends. Salem prefers to mind his business and stay in his lane. He's a bit self-centered like this, especially during his bad years. However, if there is an element of danger, such as if the stranger is about to be harmed or hurt in some way, he will instinctively step in. He does have a soft spot for father figures though, so if he see's a father in need of help, or if someone is trying to help their dad, he's a bit more likely to willingly offer his assistance.

In the very beginning of 2023, it is time for Mário Costa’s sophomore take on his more personal and authorial project. The new album is titled Chromossome, named after Costa’s rigorous and custom-made writing, considering the DNA of each one of the musicians that he carefully handpicked for the project. Listening to Chromossome it is easy to be enticed by that acute detail of compositions thought as a means to explore each performer’s qualities, enhancing the genius of these captivating and staggering nine tracks. If we keep in mind that Cuong Vu’s trumpet can be found in Bill Frisell, Pat Metheny, David Bowie or Laurie Anderson’s projects, that Bruno Chevillon’s double bass is an habitué in bands lead by Louis Sclavis, Michel Portal or Daniel Humair, and that Benoît Delbecq’s piano has found its way into the music of such diverse protagonists as Evan Parker, Mark Turner or Mary Halvorson, we may get a pale idea of the musical gathering that is taking place here. But only a pale idea because the music that is born out of this four brilliant and very different personalities is greater than the sum of its parts. Each track that Mário Costa offers his accomplices feels like a red carpet for them to explore on, creating the ideal context for a miraculous musical response. And having said that, it is still so little a description. Only music can truly speak for the bewilderment and the creativity outburst that unfolds from Chromossome. Mário Costa - drums, electronics & composition Cuong Vu - trumpet Benoît Delbecq - piano, synths & samplers Bruno Chevillon - doublebass

LE DISQUE from fabrice gueno on Vimeo.
