Okay so I rewatched the S1 finale and I'm not okay. This episode is a masterpiece. And I'm more convinced than ever that my OTP was destined to be together from the start. In case anyone wants to hear this, here are a few things I'm crying my eyes out about right now:

Jane being his true self when no one can see him, shedding his casual, confident mask when he listens to Rosalind play the piano with tears in his eyes, thinking of his dead wife and child who also played the piano. God

In that one heartbreaking conversation, Jane says he’d gladly die if it meant Red John being caught. Lisbon tells him she believes he’d choose life—and that there are people who care about him, who need him. By the end of the episode, even after losing RJ's trail yet again, Jane is standing in the sun, picking up a fruit, and smiling a little—almost looking content. He’s alive, and he’s glad to be alive. And I’d like to think a certain beautiful senior agent named after a Portuguese city had a little something to do with that.

Basically for the whole episode the writers aim to show that catching and killing RJ is Jane's only goal, and heaven help anyone who stands in his way. And then he kills the only man who could lead him to RJ, his only hope at reaching his life goal, revenge - TO SAVE LISBON'S LIFE.

This episode feels like it belongs on the big screen, not just as a season finale. Love this show with all my heart.

Now that I've got that off my chest, I’m going to curl up and cry for the next 2 to 3 business days, lol byee
