Bleach Hanakotoba Analysis Part 3 ~ OP16: Scar & ED31: Saihate
○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○
-> Division 01: Chrysanthemum
The flower insignia of the 1st division is the chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum morifolium) which is known as kiku (菊) in Japanese. According to the official Bleach lore, this flower signifies truth and innocence. Its meanings in hanakotoba include nobility, virtuousness, perfection, rejuvenation, longevity and good luck. A sixteen-petalled chrysanthemum is not only one of Japan’s two unofficial national flowers but is also used on Japan’s imperial seal. In Western floriography, Chrysanthemums symbolise cheerfulness, devoted love, loyalty, happiness longevity, joy, trust, optimism, fidelity and friendship. In some cultures, Chrysanthemums—particularly white ones—are only associated with mourning, sympathy and death.
-> Division 02: Pasque flower
The flower insignia of the 2nd division is the Pasque flower (Pulsatilla) which is also known as the nodding anemone and wind flower. It is called the okinagusa (翁草) in Japan. According to the official Bleach lore, this insignia means “seeking nothing”. Its additional meanings in hanakotoba include “untold love”, “pure heart”, and “love of betrayal”. The downward flower of the Pasque flower is said to have given rise to it symbolising "untold love" and "pure heart" as this is thought to mirror the feelings of a pure girl who is ashamed of her sentiments and finds it difficult to express them. The Pasque flower's symbolic meaning of a "love of betrayal" stems from the fact that after reaching their peak, the flowers that initially bloom face downwards turn upward. In Western floriography, the Pasque flower represents rebirth, renewal, hope, dignity, nobility, grace and the phrase “forsaken in love”.
-> Division 03: Marigold
The flower insignia of the 3rd division is the marigold (Tagetes) which is known as the marīgōrudo (マリーゴールド) in Japanese. According to the official Bleach lore, this flower signifies despair. Its meanings in hanakotoba include jealousy, despair and sadness. In Western floriography, they symbolise grief, despair, and jealousy as well as the expression of deep feelings and passion.
-> Division 04: Bellflower
The flower insignia of the 4th division is the bellflower (Campanula) which is known as the berufurawā (ベルフラワー ) and otome kikyo (乙女桔梗 ) in Japan. According to the official Bleach lore, this flower signifies that “those who grieve are loved”. Its meanings in hanakotoba include gratitude, sincerity and pleasant chatter. Bellflowers are a symbol of gratitude, constancy, romance, and support in Western floriography. Additionally, bellflowers can stand for affection, delicacy, humility, and everlasting love. In particular, blue bellflowers are symbolic of peace, healing, openness, tranquility, and friendship—on the other hand, cream bellflowers are symbolic of thoughtfulness, grace, elegance, peace, and hope. Given that a bellflower's shape resembles a church bell, it is believed that the flower's symbolic meanings of gratitude and sincerity originate from church teachings. It is thought that the bellflower's symbolic meaning of pleasant chatter originates from the observation that its flowers which point diagonally upward bloom together giving the impression that the small flowers are merrily conversing with one another.
-> Division 05: Lily of the Valley
The flower insignia of the 5th division is the lily of the valley (Convallaria majalis) which is known as suzuran (鈴蘭) in Japanese. According to the official Bleach lore, this flower represents sacrifice, danger, pure love, humility and sweetness. Its meanings in hanakotoba include purity, humility, sweetness, chastity and finding happiness again. These flowers are symbolic of purity, humility, sweetness, rebirth, good fortune, joy, youth, discretion and a return of happiness in Western floriography. With its lovely, sweet aroma, it's difficult to believe that such a demure-looking flower could be dangerous. It is crucial to highlight, however, that this flower is an extremely toxic plant that, if consumed, can cause severe disease or death. The Lily of the Valley plant contains around 38 distinct cardiac glycosides (cardenolides)—which are a class of organic compounds that increase the output force of the heart and decrease its rate of contractions—that are exceedingly poisonous to both humans and animals. Given its toxicity, it's ironic, that the plant is associated with good fortune, purity, joy, and sweetness.
-> Division 06: Camellia
The flower insignia of the 6th division is the Japanese camellia (Camellia japonica) which is known as tsubaki (椿) in Japanese. According to the official Bleach lore, this flower represents “noble reason”. Its meanings in hanakotoba include modest kindness and pride. In Western floriography, camellias have a long-standing symbolic association with romance and devotion. They symbolize strong desire and passion as well as unfaltering love, devotion, affection, refinement, perfection, faithfulness, and admiration. Normally, the petals and calyx separate as a flower dies, but in the case of camellias, the petals and calyx fall together, preserving the entire flower. In recognition of this, camellias are used to represent longevity, perfection, and pure, unreserved, love that never fades. Red camellias are thought to represent romantic love, passion, or desire. Pink camellias convey feelings of longing and gratitude. White camellias are associated with purity, faithfulness, admiration, perfection, and good fortune. On the other hand, white camellias are regarded to bring bad luck in Japan since they are associated with death and mourning.
-> Division 07: Iris
The flower insignia of the 7th division is the iris (Iris japonica) which is known as ayame (菖蒲) in Japanese. According to the official Bleach lore, this flower signifies courage. Its meanings in hanakotoba include glad tidings, loyalty, messages, hope, graciousness as well and kindness of the heart. In Western floriography, they symbolise hope, faith, friendship, wisdom, royalty, valour and messages.
-> Division 08: Crane flower
The flower insignia of the 8th division is the Crane flower (Strelitzia) which is also called the Bird of Paradise flower. In Japan, it is known as the Gokurakuchouka (ゴクラクチョウカ ). Its Japanese and English names are derived from the flower’s resemblance to a family of tropical birds native to New Guinea called Paradisaeidae. According to the official Bleach lore, this flower represents “everything that is obtained”. The phrases "date in love" and "pretentious in love" are its hanakotoba meanings. The exotic appearance of the flower, which is compared to a person in love, is considered to be the basis of these connotations. In Western floriography, the crane flower symbolizes magnificence, faithfulness, excellence, success and well as having joy in the face of both challenges and successes alike. Additionally, they also symbolize freedom due to the flower’s resemblance to a bird in flight. The Crane flower is native to South Africa where it holds the meanings of freedom, success, loyalty, thoughtfulness, immortality, love and optimism.
-> Division 09: White poppy
The flower insignia of the 9th division is the white poppy (Arctomecon merriamii) which is known as shiroi popī (白いポピー) in Japanese. According to the official Bleach lore, this flower symbolizes oblivion. Its meanings in hanakotoba are sleep and oblivion. In Western floriography. White poppies represent sleep and peaceful rest. They are associated with faith and the concept of the soul's eternal life, and they also serve as a symbol of remembrance for deceased loved ones. Given that white flowers are symbolic of purity; white poppies are a symbol of restful sleep, pleasant dreams and renewal.
-> Division 10: Daffodil
The flower insignia of the 10th division is the daffodil (Narcissus) which is known as suisen (水仙) in Japanese. According to the official Bleach lore, this flower signifies mystery and egoism. Its meanings in hanakotoba include self-love and self-esteem. Yellow daffodils in particular are linked to the phrases "come back to me" and "I want you to love me again." In English floriography, daffodils represent self-love, respect, egoism, and unrequited love. In contrast with the aforementioned negative connotations, daffodils also represent strength, overcoming hardships, and the arrival of success and wealth. White flowers typically symbolize purity—however white daffodils signify a desire for transformation.
-> Division 11: Yarrow
The flower insignia of the 11th division is the yarrow (Achillea alpina) which is known as nokogiri (鋸草) in Japanese. According to the official Bleach lore, this flower signifies fighting. Its additional meanings in hanakotoba include bravery and healing. The yarrow is a symbol of bravery in Western floriography, particularly in times of war, and wearing it is said to bestow courage and protection. The yarrow is also said to represent everlasting love, healing and good health because of its medicinal properties. Its Japanese name, “nokogiri”, translates to “saw grass” and is presumably derived from how the tooth-like shape of a saw’s teeth resembles the plant’s bipinnate/tripinnate leaves.
-> Division 12: Thistle
The flower insignia of the 12th division is the thistle (Cirsium spp.) which is known as azami (アザミ) in Japanese. According to the official Bleach lore, this flower signifies vengeance, strictness and independence. Its meanings in hanakotoba are independence, retaliation, sternness and “do not touch”. In western floriography, thistles symbolise austerity, nobility of character, independence and misanthropy. In the Victorian era, the gift of thistle flowers served as a warning against unwanted meddling. These flowers are incorporated in the expression “as prickly as a thistle” which describes someone who is easily enraged, particularly in the face of criticism. As Scotland’s national flower, thistles represent bravery, luck and strength. Thistles are referred to as the "flower of the sun" and the "herb of the witches" in the Basque area of France. It is said that thistles provide protection from evildoers and witchcraft because witches are said to be unable to look directly at the sun.
-> Division 13: Snowdrop
The flower insignia of the 13th division is the snowdrop (Galanthus nivalis) which is known as the sunōdoroppu (スノードロップ) and the matsuyukisou (待雪草) in Japan. According to the official Bleach lore, this flower represents hope. Its meanings in hanakotoba are hope and consolation. In Western floriography, the snowdrop represents purity, rebirth, sympathy and hope. A single snowdrop was seen by the Victorians as a symbol of death and was unlucky to bring into a home. On the other hand, the snowdrop is also associated with rebirth, springtime, and the ability to overcome life's challenges. The snowdrop blooms from mid to late January as winter slowly begins to end thereby reminding us that there is light at the end of the tunnel. It reminds us all that if we put our minds to it, we can achieve great things in life. It also serves as a reminder of change and represents a willingness to grow. Snowdrops are thus often gifted to those trying to move forward from sadness and negativity.

𝑩𝒍𝒖𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒌 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒂𝒔 𝑮𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒊 13 𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓𝒔 (𝑩𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉) 𝒑𝒕 1
Features: The blue lock characters (including the manga characters) in an AU where they are members in the organization called Gotei 13 present in the anime Bleach.
IMPORTANT: I DO NOT OWN THE ART, credits go to the original owner (the original artist: @/fun1_fn on Twitter). This post is inspired by the art work above! I found these and thought it'll be fun to write about a cross over of my two favourite anime!
[ 1st DIVISION ] COMMAND
Role: Dealing with Soul Society law and monitoring the other divisions. Even subordinate members of the First Division are considered model Shinigami.
Characters: Noel Noa, Lavinho, Chris Prince, Marc Snuffy, Julian Loki
Explanation: All members of division 1 have great strength and power. They hold authority over the other divisions. As these characters have enough knowledge and experience to serve as coach/masters and guide the other players, they would definitely be first division members.
[ 2nd DIVISION ] SPECIAL FORCES / ASSASSINATION AND UNDERCOVER OPERATIONS
Role: They handle all undercover operations regarding Seireitei security. Members are tasked with assassination, policing, detention and message couriers.
Characters: Chigiri Hyoma, Asahi Naruhaya, Eita Otoya, Tabito Karasu
Explanation: These characters are known for their skills which will be benefit them to carry out assassinations.
[ 3rd DIVISION ] INTELLIGENCE AND INFORMATION
Role: Responsible of the act of sending out shinigami to gather information. They are also the ones that sort all outgoing and incoming information.
Characters: Meguru Bachira, Jyubei Aryu, Alexis Ness
Explanation: Bachira and Aryu are energetic characters that would love to go out to gather information while Ness seems the type of guy to gather info convertly.
[ 4th DIVISION ] MEDICAL ASSISTANCE AND SUPPLY
Role: They are responsible for both treating the injured and doing most of the manual labor, such as cleaning the Seireitei. The 4th Division administers emergency first aid to injured division members.
Characters: Okuhito Iemon, Nijiro Nanase, Yo Hiori
Explanation: These characters have a gentle nature, which is best suited for the 4th division.
[ 5th DIVISION ] KIDOU CORPS / KIDOU TACTICS AND CONTROL
Role: They are responsible for all sealing and magical workings inside Soul Society, as well as recording and storing any new kidou.
Characters: Reo Mikage, Rin Itoshi
Explanation: Being a member of this squad requires an in depth knowledge of Kido. High level Kido is something not everyone can perform, so these characters are well suited because of their academic level.
[ 6th DIVISION ] INTERNAL AFFAIRS
Role: They handle all of Gotei 13's internal affairs, such as monitoring shinigami activity and handling any disturbances. They are responsible for apprehending shinigami that breaks Soul Society laws and detaining criminal offenders until they are judged.
Characters: Kenyu Yukimiya, Sae Itoshi
Explanation: These characters have a good head on their shoulders, they will do well in this division.
[ 7th DIVISION ] SEIREITEI-RUKONGAI DIPLOMACY
Role: The 7th Division maintains peace between Seireitei and Rukongai. When souls have complaints/suggestions/questions, they sent to the 7th Division where it is read, ignored, taken into consideration and decided upon.
Characters: Zantetsu Tsurugi, Ranze Kurona
Explanation: They are smart enough to handle diplomacy issues.
P.S : Ahhh I so happy I wrote this! This was on my mind for quite a while now and I finally wrote it down! All the above information was taken from the blue lock/ bleach wiki pages as well as some other sources as well. Btw did you guys know that in bleach, only the 6th Division members play actual football? Toshiro did play once but only in the beginning.

You've mentioned you Headcanon Yumichika as the one actually keeping squad 11 going behind the scenes as it were, and that him threatening the squad 11 lackies about cleaning properly vs Ikkaku going “lol loser don’t get caught next time” was proof, I totally agree,
And there’s more supporting subtext in the Post-TYBW chapters; like Ikkaku might be the one to bring up that “hey isn’t the ceremony at the 1st not the 13th?” to Kenpachi, but he looks to Yumi for clarification who's like “wtf that’s your job (lieutenant) to know not mine (3rd seat)?” And the joke is that haha Kenpachi STILL gets lost, while also giving time skip exposition (aka the new ranks of the 11th). But it’s also Yumi foolishly thinking his Captain and lieutenant could at least READ an invitation that is addressed to THEM, not him. Also! Notice Squad 11 is the only one there with a +1/non Captain&Lieutenant in attendance (Yumichika) and no one is like hey what are you doing here? (like not even Ichika or Hanataro got an invite to Rukia's big day lol, or at least the Official Biznezz part). Like Yumi is the official 14th lieutenant
(I think it was mentioned in one of the light novels that Lisa's first choice for her lieutenant was Yumichika and she did ask but he said no. Love that he’s the #1 pick for a promotion but is always turning it down haha even without his Shikai powers truly being known! Also, Lisa and Yumi would have been an iconic Captain/Lieutenant duo y/n?)
and in the Hell Chapter, Ikkaku gets the “honey you are going to be late…what do you mean ‘late for what?’?” treatment from Yumichika. Like Yumi has learned from the last time! He’s gonna keep track of all the ceremonies Ikkaku and Kenpachi gotta attend because clearly Ikkaku being promoted changed nothing and he was a fool for taking his eye off the ball last time lol
(Also, can I say I love how Yumichika and Ichika interact here? She calls him Chika-san! That’s so cute! Do you think they are called the “Chikas” when they hang out together? And she immediately tells him he looks very pretty today and he compliments her right back. idk if it’s cuter that 1. she genuinely thinks he’s very pretty and knows he likes to hear it 2. she’s sucking up to her teacher by sucking up to teacher's SO or 3. she’s trying to stay on Chika-san's good side because she’s scared of being on his bad (she could tell a scolding for SOMETHING was about to happen and she wanted no part lol). Also, Yumi looks AMAZING in this chapter <3)
I also vaguely recall there being a filler arc scene/omake where it’s revealed Yumichika got sent on a mission because he was sorting documents while everyone else was fighting/sleeping/training and either Yaruchi or Kenpachi was like, booo boring go have fun fighting something.
A Lisa/Yumichika division would serve so hard the Gotei wouldn't know what to do with itself. But it would also cease to have a functional 11th, so they will never know the majesty. I'm imagining a Paris is Burning division. Then they'd really know the Gotei under Kyouraku was on a different path than previous!
As to your last paragraph I feel like that might've happened to him a FEW times, ahaha. The one I remember is from the Cake Episode, and it's Hitsugaya who throws him under the bus:
[Bleach e134]
Somehow, in all of Bleach--yes, including main plotline Bleach--the thing that most canonizes Hitsugaya's vindictive streak for me is the fact that in this instance, he does not express or act in deference to one single iota of sympathy for the situation Yumichika has found himself in, despite most certainly having experienced it himself.
Also worth noting that the episode right before this one was *Ikkaku terrorizing a high school kendo team* so no one was doing shittttttt lolol
#ayasegawa yumichika#somehow made this into a hitsugaya post who is surprised!!#bleach anime#asks#no brain just bleach

Hunter, of the 1st Division would Hunter have a fire-oriented Zankaputo in his Bankai? Yeah, they would, honestly
something i did a while ago in aseprite during my bleach phase with some inspos from philip in ruina i don't dabble with any form of perspective or pixel art, so this is a bit of a 1st for me, like, ever

Yhwach, over the phone: We have her.
Yamamoto: Huh? Who?
Yhwach: We have your best friend. Yachiru Unohana.
Yamamoto:
Yamamoto, with a calm voice: Oh.
Yhwach: ... That's all you have to say? "Oh"?
Yamamoto: Yeah. 'Cause see here, villain-kun, you actually don't have her. She has you. Ok? I wish you the very best of luck. *hangs up the phone*

some Manga page about Soiren's shape when she use her necklace power after Joining to squad 0 .....
Soiren in Bleach TYBW offered to join to division 0 and she accepted... So.. She became the divine general of southeast
So... The 1st 3 pages r colored manga... And the last 3 pages r the same pics but uncoloured...
So... Her shape will change a little by appearance of some marks of Reatsu on her face... Add to position of her necklace on her head... This is just the appearance.... And for her power.... If her power is 100% .. When she use the necklace it's being 500% ....
As I said before.. This necklace is her creation before joining to squad 0 ... This time.. It's just benefits her... But in the future... Maybe it will benefits a lot of souls....
Ichibe and Ouetsu from squad 0 was with her... Because in the big amount of Reatsu maybe she can't control it easily... So... They r here to see her and stop her if anything bad happens
Those all pic r my own and original art (I'm still trying to improve my art to the members of squad 0 🤭)... So.. Don't steal or trace....

When I first started writing my bleach fic, I was like, "Hehe, let's give this kid some normal friends!" and now I'm 35k in, getting inspiration from music, a softer world, quotes, and romanticized romance.
Ray, I need to ask you and your followers something very important: Are there any notions about Shunsui's parents, specifically his dad? Any mentions in the manga or anime?
If not, then I am free to build him up however I can, and I will use Gabriel from The Mandela Catalogue as an influence.
When in doubt always check the wiki

Saw your Bleach AU - Etoiles isn't an Arrancar or a Visored. He's just a true member of squad 11 (probably it's captain or something) -- what with the way that he goes out of his way asking for fights. Anw all of this just to say that Pomme is yachiru coded
Hell yeah, that was the plan! He is the captain of 11th Division and has been for nearly as long as Phil has been captain of 1st Division.Which is to say, a very fucking long time.
The kids are technically still in the academy, buuut they tend to sneak out to hang around their adoptive parents! Cause all the kids appeared at once about 100 years before hand as young souls, kind of in the middle of a Captains meeting. So they ended up getting adopted lmao, while Spreen went looking for answers on where they came from. He has never returned, but Fit doesn't want to promote Cellbit to Lieutenant just yet, just in case Spreen comes back. (He won't)

- AU Gotei 13- Division 1 Captain Commanders -
I have all these old Bleach sketches and ideas I never posted anywhere so might as well unload them here XD I've since moved all my characters into my original story but I think I'm always going to dabble in Bleach here and there.
Anyway! These two are the Captain Commanders of the Gotei 13:
Regan is the oldest soul in existence and holder of one of the most powerful Kido-type zanpakuto in the gotei. As a co-commander, she takes on the brunt of the administrative duties that the 1st is responsible for. She's a sharp-witted, eagle-eyed person and at 6'9" not much escapes her gaze. She's also well-versed in so many topics, it's a game with her subordinates to see if they can teach her something new and not the other way around. It doesn't happen very often.
Hattori Fuu is one of the most celebrated swordsman of the Gotei, and holder of the most powerful electric-type zanpakuto in history (this is an unofficial CC tradition). She takes charge of all combat operations and personnel responsibilities of the 1st. Fuu has had an interesting, infamous career and is known for being a stone-cold, pragmatic leader with a signature scowl permanently etched on her face. She does not want a military full of "heroes" and generally discourages sacrificial or glory seeking behavior (which, unfortunately for her, has not changed her favorite former student's behavior much)
#my art#regan stuff#fuu stuff#verse:bleach(bigbang)#that 'former student' of fuu's being jo. lol#i did a bunch of redesigns and never finished them but when I get a chance I might try to redraw them#I think I revisit this story every so often because I did sooooooo much work for it that i still like to talk about it XD
