This week, the image I decided to speak about is this 1955 cover for the comic magazine Mad Reader: Volume 5 - 50th Anniversary Edition. I have been a fan of the satire and comedy magazine MAD for a while now and even watched the CartoonNetwork show adaptation when I was younger, so finding this image on my Pinterest feed was very exciting. Although nostalgic, that isn't the only reason why I chose this image. I love the use of color and the composition of this particular cover. Compared to their newer editions, this cover is significantly simpler, but I think it's still effective, due to it being different and having that "vintage" feel, I was more drawn to it than I have been to other MAD covers in the past. If you have never had the privilege to read one of these comics, I recommend everyone should read at least one in your life.
