“vote for quackity!” “let’s go quackity let’s go!” you go back to tumblr. it’s 50/50. you watch with dazed eyes as the numbers change— 200, 45, 19, 8. they mean nothing, they mean everything. the thin line between grian and quackity fluctuates. your heart thumps, tense and anxious.

a ping from your discord, from your comrades in the r/hermitcraft server. not the lime green gme line starting up shit again. with a resigned sigh, you push the gme pixels back to their side.

Favela representatives draft list of challenges facing G20 countries

Fighting hunger, ensuring access to water, health care, and education, investment in infrastructure, accessible credit, and sustainable development are the demands of the favelas and outlying neighborhoods of Brazil and other countries at the G20, the international forum that brings together representatives from the world’s 19 richest nations, plus the European Union and the African Union.

Those demands are listed on a document entitled Comuniquê, to be unveiled Monday (Nov. 4), National Favela Day, by Favela 20 (F20), a project created by Voz das Comunidades, a socially aware NGO with a journalistic slant run by favela residents.

“One of our main objectives was to include the demands of the favelas and outlying areas not only in Brazil, but also in G20 countries. That was one of our major goals and, as a result, we took part in different conferences and technical sessions of the G20 itself, bringing the urgent demands that are experienced in the Brazilian favelas as well as in those in G20 countries,” said Erley Bispo, co-founder of the F20 in an interview with Agência Brasil.

The document is the result of debates held by six working groups, attended by over 100 organizations from Brazil and the world. Held since July, when the F20 was launched, the discussions cast light on similar situations facing the people in the bloc’s countries. Each working group then drafted a policy brief with a view to proposing the public policies for decision-makers and managers.

The History of Swingo, Part 10: Silver Sisters

(18) Shakira Simpson was the swing for the 2023-24 UK tour and wore the silver swing costume with pants and Cleves variations. A few days after leaving the show, she briefly returned as an emergency cover- Ellie Jane Grant had been contracted to stay on with the new tour cast as extra coverage, but was then ‘borrowed’ by the West End, which likely resulted in Shakira being asked back. Shakira has since been officially asked to rejoin the UK tour as a temporary swing. Before Six, Shakira had appeared in a variety of roles on the West End, both as a child in The Lion King and Billy Elliot and as an adult in Fantastically Great Women who Changed the World and Legally Blonde.

(19) Meg Dixon-Brasil made her professional debut as the swing in the current West End production, and is the first to wear the silver costume but not receive any variations. Her first debut was as Boleyn and her last as Cleves, an order she shares with the first West End swing Collette Guitart. She was previously a rehearsal swing for the fourth Breakaway cruise production, where she covered Boleyn, Seymour, and Howard.

Zombies (How to Tell a Man You Love Him)

Warning: The following piece contains mentions of war, suicide, death, and generally grotesque imagery. It is not an easy read, but it is true. Note: Tumblr formatting is hell

Part 1:

1. Meet Rafael 2. It will happen in a little online community with a love of video games, particularly Project Zomboid, a game that, on it’s opening screen, proclaims ‘this is how you died’ 3. Listen to a hundred stories in a month. He will start telling them to you as you take interest in his characters and writing. Let them fill your mind and soul, swirling pain and joy and everything in between. 4. Write a few yourself. 5. Most are Zombie Apocalypse Stories 6. Some have love, too. 7. Watch as each moment grows longer, later into the night. Let your eyes grow heavy while this newness shivers in your veins. Hours upon hours of simple moments ambling together to form a treasure trove of peace. 8. It is easy to talk about pain when you add zombies into the mix 9. Grow in comfort and consistency. 10. Let the zombies drip away from the stories. Let hot pain cool enough to escape your choked throats. He will include the following things: a. Combat b. His absentee parents and your misguided ones c. A gunshot to the head d. Irreversible brain damage e. And a hint of great loneliness and loss

11. Let banter develop into a vicious whirlwind of casual affectionate cruelty. The others in your group will become confused by the contentment in this raucous display, but you will know it intimately. Empty battles fought across these safe spaces, whittling away your resolve to be cautious or hesitant. 12. Feel your insecurities bleed away against this verbal surgery- melting on the lips of another’s fierce critiques- He is your fool and you are his idiot- together in a wicked spin, bloodletting until the pain dries up. 13. Together you have the freedom to be reckless, rude, and callous. Together you have the knowledge that your recklessness, rudeness, and callousness will not be met with more pain. It is freeing, like the thrill of walking the ropes course. It reminds you of flying, or standing on the edge of a canyon. 14. You are an addict to the thrill, to the drama, to the dance. Know, in all logical standpoints, that this should be suffocating. Know your fears of aggression have vanished on the tongue of a stranger only tied to you through the code strings of text and audio intertwining each other like cold robotic corpses that, together, you breathe life into. 15. In cold and empty threats feel warmth and honesty. 16. Let a feeling of power flood through your veins as he persuades you to stand up for yourself. Let your heart bubble with boiling confidence unlike any you have known before. You will not understand how this outward viciousness creates in the two of you unparalleled peace and confidence but you will know it to be true. 17. It was always in you. 18. Embolden yourselves in this tightrope walk. 19. Admire him as the boy who walked miles to school every day to learn in the intense brazilian heat. The boy who taught himself two languages. The boy who saw Disney World as his aunt’s translator. It is impressive, for a child- and even still, as only a young man just scraping into his twenties, it remains an accomplishment. The way he weaves words together- you would never know English was not his first language. He wields it with beauty. Perhaps it is in the reverence of what English means- of the opportunities it affords. 20. Know that there are two ways to afford opportunity: Education and combat. 21. He will tell you about both. 22. Listen as the gory details spill out of his mouth. He describes the way the Guarani were ovens on wheels in the summer heat, leaving sweaty soldiers inside with the top hatch wide open, hoping a passing enemy wouldn’t toss a frag grenade inside. 23. In Brasil, combat doesn’t mean war. 24. Combat is the back and forth of the cartels in the streets, overlaid with funk music to cloak the pangs of gunfire. 25. Think that he is awfully young to have seen such combat. 26. He talks about his friend 27. His legs were blown off and Rafael, shitting his pants in adrenaline and terror, saved his life. He wanted to be something you will forget: A doctor or a lawyer or a scientist. 28. He killed himself in the hospital.

29. Think about loneliness 30. It’s an easy thing to have when his mother was an apparition, only visible in his childhood home in the corner of his eye- a fleeting, distant thing- more of an absent memory, even still, than a living fount of love. 31. You’ve seen his messages from before- before the combat, before the loneliness truly crept in. The open happiness, splayed out across texts and friends you haven’t known. They’re uninfected, pure- they’re not the messages of lost friends and unimaginable brutality. 32. It’s a hard thing, to imagine someone so changed again knowing love. 33. Rejoice in tandem when he meets a girl, in the most Hallmark way you’ve ever imagined- crying on the side of the road, comforted by a stranger. How that moment led to such things will seem impossible, in retrospect. A flap of a butterfly’s wings- a chance encounter. 34. In friendship, the escape from loneliness into the sanctuary of love is celebrated. In friendship, it is no threat. It is a sweet honey that runs down one's throat, untainted yet by the burning bourbon of heartache. When you have not yet realized you love a man you do not fear his love- you love her the same. She becomes a part of your heart as much as he is, a swirling circling truth that doesn’t yet explain the leaping of heartbeats when a new word leaves his lips. 35. There is a stinging beauty to this unknown love, the wholeness of his happiness reflected on your heart. In this moment, you are entirely happy. In this moment, unaware of the trembling scaffolds that hold your heart steady, you are in bliss watching his happily ever after unfold. 36. He will worry about the implausibility of love in the face of: a. Combat b. Absentee parents c. A gunshot to the head d. Irreversible brain damage e. And a hint of great loneliness and loss. 37. In your unknown admiration, you will insist that he is worthy, capable, and enough- that she will see as much or face the unfortunate loss of his presence if she fails to look. 38. Sometimes, you forget how much pain can make a man look like a corpse- as used to the days of trembling fear, or whispering pain, or bedrest drawn from the mind rather than the body as you are. 39. You understand better than most these things- you’ve known anxiety, and pain, and fear. Certainly, you care to understand it. Sometimes, still, you forget how much greater his hurdles are- you stand and push against the mountain.

40. Offer him advice when she propositions him. Ask him if he wants it- he only wants cuddles- and tell him to say as much. 41. You won’t notice the twang of your heart in knowing another who prefers the intimacy of being held to the flame of intercourse 42. You’ve never cared for the concept of sex. Eat an aloe vera whole and get sick. Cook a number of lovely meals. Meet her asshole friends. Leave the festival early. Take her things from her apartment after her asshole friends break them. Offer her sanctuary and comfort and love. Let her coax his restless mind to sleep. Gain some respite from the nightmares. Translate so despite the language barrier the whole friend group can all play some truth or dare. Show her the pictures of your cat. Correct your poor attempts to learn her- and his- language– Bom dia, amigo, boa noite. Tell you how impossibly and utterly in love he is. Show her the little doodles you make of the two of them. Comfort her. Love her. 45. Let his romantic high lift your heart too, in a secondhand joy that smokes anxious thoughts from your heart until only honey is left pumping through your veins, so sugary and honest that if a vampire dared to suck your ecstasy he would be left comatose. 46. You must only banter in English, because if you banter in your broken Portuguese you sound like you’re flirting. 47. “Mommy Issues” is not a flirtatious remark, but somewhere between your two cultures and identities and lives he will mistake it as such. 48. “Hola Gatão” is a flirtatious remark, but you weren’t talking to him, you were talking to his cat, sitting behind him. Literally it means “Hello fat cat”. When you tell other portuguese speakers this story, their reaction is a universal, cringe filled “ohhhhh…”. His was a shocked “NO. NO. NO.”. 49. You will love her in a secondhand way, because she makes him happy, and yet you feel her smile through the glowing text on the screen. You feel her heart through the exchanges Rafael shares. You want to be her friend so desperately that you thrust yourself into language learning with a reckless abandon. Villager Hunting Trip 2 pt.1

^reminds me of Supernatural, when Dean's telling Sam that "Dad's on a hunting trip and he hasn't been home in a few days" in season 1.

I have 20k bells, 20 NMT and a little amount of hope. I'm giving myself a limit of 20 NMT, so if I haven't found one of the few villagers I want, I must take the 20th villager.

My island has a theme and to fit that theme, I'm looking for Ankha, Bill, Chevre, Deirdre, Frobert, Peanut, Raymond and Static. I already have Sherb who's also a part of the theme.

Realistically, I'm gonna have to get real lucky to get Ankha and Raymond because there are so many different cats in the game that it's not likely that I'll get either of them very quickly.

Nonetheless, the hunt begins...

The first island and it's a spiral island! -_- reminds me of level 19 in Stardew Valley's mines. Snake was there and he freaks me out a lil bit not gonna lie.

The second island was a big pond island and Sly was there. There's a theme occurring in this hunt, I can already tell. Before I left I caught a Whale Shark on the dock!

The third island was pretty boring, though it did have both a fossil spot and a recipe in a bottle. Midge was there and she was cute but not what I'm looking for.

The fourth island was a mundane river island and had Sheldon on it. There's nothing really else to add about this island, it kinda sucked.

The fifth island was a money island! Rio was there too, she seemed pretty fun but I left her behind (desculpe Brasil!)

The sixth island was another river island with Naomi on it. There was nothing else to it other than a recipe in a bottle. Naomi freaked me out a lil, her colour palette is very bright.

The seventh island was a waterfall island with Erik on it! I was really tempted to take Erik because of his catchphrase being 'Chow down' (reminded me of a certain bald streamer's "Clown down")

The eighth island was another money island and Gayle was there.

Ninth island was another waterfall island with Phil on the second level. I forgot to take a photo for this island.

The tenth island was a mountain island with Deena at the top.

ENGLISH April 19th is Indigenous Peoples' Day in Brazil. I wanted to show, in this piece, their history and present as well. I decided to draw them as jaguars, a native animal that represents courage. The man has a bone n his chin, as described in books from the 1500s. His scars show his struggle to survive. The piece of wood he's holding is a tool used to kill captured enemies. The woman is holding a baby and a maraca. The ancestors' spirits live in the maraca. They're saying: oppressors, forest burners and genociders, get lost! The baby represents the future to the indigenous people, which will be made without abandoning their ancestry. The bandeirante is a skull. I chose not to associate any animal with their cruelty. The skull also represents death brought by colonization. I included the Brazilian flag to show Brazil was made by erasing the native peoples.

Chapter 1 : Leaving Brazil

No One’s P.O.V

“Avó I don't understand; I know there have been getting along recently between us, but Rússia? Папа? Papai?”

Daisy was grabbing a bowl from the cabinet from the kitchen and serving herself muesli. “Margarita , I know your Papai isn't a great guy, but he is young and I am getting too old to take care of you.” Daisy’s grandma said with a sad sigh. “Avó this is a completely different place! My entire life is here in Brasile , everything that I have ever known is here!. I will be a stranger to Papai and I will be an outcast in Rússia” she said to her Avó with anger. “Is it because I haven’t been home and been in the city more than here? I know I haven’t been here, but my band has the biggest break of our lives Avó, if the band breaks up because I have moved away, our hard work will be for nothing!” Avó grabbed her cane from where she was sitting and stood up. From her chair and walk towards her Neta. Daisy tears were spilling from her dark chocolate eyes. Her grandma wiped her tears from Daisy’s cheek. “I know you work so hard for your dreams Florzinha, but you need to understand that I won’t be there for you always, and I know my time will be up soon, and I just want what is best for you, and what is best for you is to be in Rússia with your papai.” Her Avó’s hand was still on her cheek and she held Avó's hand. Still with tears. “Your papai misses you so much.” Daisy took Avó's hand and put it down and she said, “I can’t leave you, I promise Mamã, that I���ll take care of you,” Avó's tears slip down, she can no longer contain her tears. Avó said “And I promised your Mamã, that I will take care of you.” She tried to calm her granddaughter down. “Know no more crying for the both of us.I already bought your plane ticket, and you need to start packing for tomorrow.”

The following day was just a jumble of feelings. Before Daisy traveled to the airport. She could feel her sadness rising up. “You're still fluent in Russian right?" Said Tia Rosita“Yeah of course. It's hard to not be fluent in Russian when your father is from Russia." Daisy snapped back while leaning back in the old airport chair. "Margarita don’t be like that, I know you're upset with this and all, but please don't get attached to your Tia Rosita . “Sorry." Daisy halfheartedly mumbled while playing with the sleeves of her jacket. "Hm it looks like they're starting to board.” Said Tia Rosita

“Grab your suitcase c'mon" As Daisy was grabbing her suitcase she accidentally stepped on a man's foot behind her. She turned around to see a tall grown man with blonde styled hair and eyeliner. "Oh shit I'm sorry for stepping on your foot." The man stared at her with immense eye contact and smiled even brighter. "Oh no worries! Enjoy your flight!" She awkwardly smiled and walked with her suitcase

Meanwhile later on her trip “ No look I'm telling you when I stepped on his foot he literally just stared into my soul, like a " Daisy said while eating a complimentary bag of peanuts the flight staff gave her . “Yes yes, I believe you. Now but please be quiet, we still have 19 hours left on this plane, and I want to spend those hours asleep."said Tia Rosita, leaning her head into the neck pillow, next to the window. Daisy plugged in her headphones into the phone to listen to music. “I'm sorry for staring into your soul, I can assure you that those were not my intentions! But I thank you for the compliment!" Daisy froze and turned her head to see that the man was sitting right behind her. She choked up, not knowing what to say and just gave him a quick smile before sinking into her seat, deeply embarrassed. 'Just my luck. Shit I need to start paying attention to my surroundings more often.' Daisy thought as she played her music and munched on her peanuts.

“Margarita! Acordar, we're about to land!" Tia Rosita shook her awake, as Daisy sat up straighter and tightened her seatbelt. “Remember that weird guy I was talking about earlier? Well he's sitting behind us and heard everything I said." Tia gasped as she slowly peered over the seat to look at this mysterious guy Margarita had been talking about. "Seriously, that's him? He looks pretty normal to me, although it's pretty funny he heard you. Karma é um Puta." Tia said giggling close to her ear. Daisy just rolled her eyes and prepared for landing. The airport was packed with families and people trying to find their flight. “Ok Margarita so the plan is we take a taxi over to Do pai, I drop you off and make sure you are Com este cabrón and then I go back home ." Rosita told her as they both walked towards the airport exit. “Tia, how come you don’t like papai?” Daisy said as she stared at the woman as cars passed . Daisy looked behind her and saw a familiar head of blonde hair, so she took her bag and quickly got in the car. They both stepped inside the car as the driver started to drive off. "The address is Rublevo-Uspenskoye Shosse, 17, Gorki-2, Moscow Oblast, Russia, 143033" Tia Rosita said as Daisy looked out the moving window. Her Tia patting Daisy’s back. The car ride was quiet, but once the car pulled into a small white apartment in the richest neighborhood , both Tia Rosita and Daisy were shocked. "Um sir, is this the correct address?" asked the driver. "da." He responded, curtly. "Okay Margarita grab the bags so I can talk to papai." Tia left the car and headed to the front door, leaving the girl to grab both of their bags.

Before leaving the car Daisy muttered a quick thanks in Russian for the driver, as she headed to the front with her bags. As Daisy was walking to the door she could hear a little bit of the conversion Sam and her dad were having. “Look Ivan, she is your responsibility now, my mother is old and she no longer takes care of her.Margarita is a good girl and she won’t cause any problems and she has good manners, she is a respectable young lady as you always wanted. Daisy walked up the steps with the suitcases to see Tia Rosita

Her papai was a man with Black hair and was a bit wavy like her’s . He stroked his black mustache, while staring at Daisy . “Мой дорогой, welcome home. I will take your bags . I suspect you want to say goodbye to your Тетя?" He asked with a deep voice. "Uhm yes thank you." Daisy said, trying not to grimace at the vibes he was giving off. Rosita pulled away and walked back to the taxi, leaving Daisy alone in front of the spacious apartment .

As she walked inside the apartment there was a hallway that led to the living room. The hallway had a white walls and a mirror and a table with a vase with white roses. She walked to the living room, it had white walls and a grand crystal chandelier in the ceiling. The room had a white choch and white curtains, with curbed full with books and a grand piano. Daisy looked at the whole room and was amazed by the room, it was so different from her home back in Brazil, her house was full of colors that missed match with everything. The whole apartment was white with no stains of color. "I have some rules to follow since you now live here." Daisy’s papai said as he sipped his tea. Daisy sat down. "When you address me it will always be father or sir. You will always show respect to me. Absolutely no boys will enter this door without my permission. Also no dye hair is allowed, Do you play any instruments?" The man asked, staring intently at his daughter. "Yes I-" Her father stopped her. "Address me as father or sir." He responded coldly. "Oh sorry sir. But yes father, me and my friends used to have a band, and we actually won a lot of contests." Her father laughed a cruel laugh and looked upon her face. "Oh my dear, that's not real music. But what instruments can you play?" The man asked, holding his tea.

“Well, father. I can play the guitar, piano, and violin." Daisy said, looking down at her teacup. "Hmm, violin... yes, I can work with that. Do you play well?" "Yes, sir, I haven't played in a while. But when I last played, I could play some Mozart pieces." The father smiled and nodded his head. "Good, good. We have a grand piano in the living room. I will find you a great teacher immediately, and you will start playing as soon as possible." Daisy nodded her head as she drank the rest of the tea. “Well, it’s late, and I think you must be exhausted from your trip here,” her father said, leaving his team on a small coffee table on the side of his chair and standing up. “Yes, I am exhausted. We should go to bed.” She said. He nodded, and he guided her to her room. They walked upstairs, and her father guided her to a small hallway with doors. “Your room is in the west hallway, and mine is in the north hallway. That’s your door. “ said her father. He left his bedroom, and she walked through her bedroom. She opened her door, her bedroom was plain and white it didn’t have any color or any posters. Daisy was disappointed with her room, though she thought she could decorate it and paint the walls later. For now, she was tired from her trip.

Brazilian-developed vaccine against Covid-19 registered by Anvisa

The new vaccine against Covid-19 developed by the Brazilian company Zalika Farmacêutica has been entered into the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) this week, Agencia Brasil reported. The drug can be used in people aged 12 and over and is to be administered in two doses, 21 days apart, with boosters after 6 months for those over 18 years of age.

The technology used in the Zalika vaccine is called “recombinant” because its molecules are formed by combining two different sources. In this case, the protein S antigen (spike) -capable of promoting a response from the immune system- and the saponin-based adjuvant allow the mixture to enhance the production of antibodies. This form of production brings greater safety to the pharmaceutical industry, Anvisa explained in a statement.

The new immunizer is the sixth to receive definitive individual registration from Anvisa, in addition to Comirnaty Ipfizer/Wyeth, Comirnaty bivalent (Pfizer), Janssen Vaccine (Janssen-Cila), Oxford/Covishield (Fiocruz and Astra-Zeneca) and Spikevax bivalent vaccines have received this type of authorization. Pfizer/Biontech, Astra-Zeneca, Janssen, Moderna, Sinopharm, and Sinovac also have definitive registration in the form of the Covax Facility consortium.
