Victor Horta (1861-1947) est le célèbre créateur de l'architecture Art Nouveau. Après l'Hôtel Tassel, à Bruxelles, en 1893, Horta a construit plus de 40 immeubles en une décennie. Ce nouvel ouvrage expose les nombreuses influences qui se sont exercées sur son œuvre, ainsi que son héritage. Les descriptions détaillées de 19 projets, dont le Pavillon Lambeaux, l'Hôtel Autrique, l'Hôtel Max Hallet et l'Hôpital Brugmann, sont illustrées de dessins originaux de Horta et de photographies réalisées spécialement pour l'occasion par le photographe primé Alastair Carew-Cox, spécialisé en architecture. L'ouvrage comprend en outre de nombreuses photographies de l'Hôtel Solvay, une des œuvres majeures de Horta, dont l'accès, refusé aux photographes depuis 20 ans, a été exceptionnellement accordé à Alastair Carew-Cox au cours de l'été 2016, en reconnaissance de la contribution significative apportée par lui et le Professeur David Dernie à l'étude de Horta.
