Not to be dramatic but the fact that Meredith Grey - the longest running character in my life- is leaving and NCIS:LA - with Densi being my longest running ship- is ending is going to make me very dramatic the rest of this tv season.

NCIS: Los Angeles 1 Year Anniversary

I know I'm a few days late, but I still can't believe it's really been an entire year since NCIS: Los Angeles ended. That will forever remain one of my favourite shows and I miss it so much. It was always one of the things that kept me driving and motivated. My excitement to the see a new episode was insane. I never felt such excitement and anticipation before in my life and that is really saying something.

I was always excited for the end of every week to see a new episode, especially just so I could get any new scenes between Deeks and Kensi. Aw I miss Densi. I fell for them hard and they became one of my absolute OTP favourites ranked so high that no couple could ever measure up to the love I feel for them.

I miss the characters like you wouldn't believe and no offense to Fatima, Roundtree and Kilbride, but I just really miss it when the team still had Hetty, Nell, Eric and Granger. I wish they stayed till the end cause it wasn't the same without them, but some things just couldn't be helped. I miss the characters, friendships, relationships and bonds that were formed over those 14 seasons.

I'm still sorry the cancellation was so unexpected cause there were still so many unresolved storylines that were left hanging and never got their chance to be fully told. The writing during it's final seasons weren't always at it's best. Honestly they were just plain bad with only handful of decent episodes, but that doesn't stop me from missing the show.

It's been a year since it ended, but NCIS: Los Angeles will always remain a gem in my heart. It had it's fair share of ups and downs, but it will forever remain one of my favourite shows to ever exist and I still miss it everyday. Thank you NCIS LA for giving us incredible adventures and amazing characters.

One last San Pedro shoot?

SPOILER ALERT FOR NCISLA S14E19 (I think).

NCISLA filmed in San Pedro awhile back. One of many such days in the last 14 years. I've been lucky enough to catch a few. I must admit I was tempted to steal one of these signs- after all, I figured they weren't gonna need them in a couple more weeks, right? (I didn't.)

There was no sign of Eric Christian Olsen, but I did watch Chris O'Donnell filming an interesting scene with Jere Burns, who plays Pembrook.

Apologies for the poor photo quality- my phone at the time was approximately 200 years old.

It starts at an ambulance, surrounded by cop cars, police officers, and REACT team members. Pembrook is in the ambulance on the phone when Callen approaches and they have a quick conversation.

Then Pembrook gets up and walks to a waiting SUV that appears to be driven by federal agents. He's clearly injured, maybe a gunshot wound to the shoulder?

Pembrook gets in the SUV and Callen hesitates before coming after him. He bangs on the window and yells something to the effect of "Why didn't Hetty tell me?" or "Why didn't Hetty pull me out?" The SUV pulls away leaving him looking frustrated.

So in other words, absolutely nothing new or surprising

Also, apparently Dani and Caleb were filming that day too, so no Densi.

1. Are you named after anyone?

Possibly, but I think that was just wishful thinking on my grandma’s part.

2. When was the last time you cried?

I honestly can’t recall. It’s been a while. I cry over weird stuff. And when I’m stressed.

3. Do you have kids?

Currently, I have about 70 of them, but I don’t get to keep them (thank goodness in certain cases. Is that wrong to say?). If we’re talking imaginary children, then probably around a dozen.

4. What sports do you/have you played?

As mentioned many a time, I am not a particularly athletically inclined or coordinated person. I played softball for three years, from 12-14 and haven’t regularly participated in any sport since.

5. Do you use sarcasm?

No, never.

6. What’s the first thing you notice about people?

I always struggle with this one, because I’m inconsistently observant. Sometimes it’s hair, other it’s clothes. Sometimes I can’t remember what a person I’ve met looks like at all.

7. What’s your eye color?

Blue

8. Scary movie or happening ending?

Happy ending. I do not like the thought of long term consequences in general. Unless it’s a villain that I’m happy to see the back of.

9. Any talents?

Playing the piano, sometimes baking, wasting time, avoiding long term, meaningful relationships, I’d like to say writing sometimes.

10. Where were you born?

The lovely Midwest.

11. What are your hobbies?

Baking, reading, writing, hanging with my family, wasting time and later complaining about said lack of time, painting small people’s nails.

12. Do you have any pets?

Not at this time.

13. How tall are you?

2 inches shorter than Shawn Johnson.

14. Favorite subject in high school?

Definitely not math. Language Arts, sometimes science, and health.

15. Dream job?

Maybe writer or baker, but I’m not really sure. Having it as a job might ruin the fun bits about it. I don’t know if I’m exactly the dream job kind of person. Although I complain about it, I do enjoy certain aspects of my current work.

That’s a debate actually! Am I named after my dad’s ex-girlfriend? Or am I named after his cousin? Or am I named after a combination of both? WHO IS TO SAY?

2. When was the last time you cried?

Oh, I definitely teared up earlier. I know I’ve cried recently, though. It’s not uncommon when I feel ANY kind of strong emotion. 

3. Do you have kids?

Nope x1000

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

Sarcasm? Me? That neverrrrr happens.

5. What's the first thing you notice about people?

Hmmm, I’m so bad with faces. I think their hair color usually so I can try and remember their names. When I meet two people with the same hair color at the same time? Good luck to them! They will always be the same person to me no matter how different they look in all other respects!

6. What's your eye color?

Deeeeeeeep brown. 

7. Scary movie or happy ending

Happy ending. Don’t you dare give me a scary movie. If it is spookier than SO WEIRD, I am OUT.

8. Any special talents?

I don’t know, man. What’s a special talent? At work I’m good at remembering things, and I am excellent at forecasting well enough to foresee problems and pre-solve them, if we’re going for LinkedIn skills and talents. I like to imagine I have some writing talent. But is that special?

9. Where were you born?

10. What are your hobbies?

Hahaha. Does procrastinating count? I like to do different types of crafts, write, and watch TV shows only to rewatch them 1,000 times. 

11. Do you have any pets?

Yes, my two cats. I love them even if they are stinkers. Ollie has needed a lot of attention lately. 

12. What sports do you play/ have you played?

For some reason, my parents let me play T-Ball, softball, and even basketball. I sucked at ALL of them. Each year of T-ball led to a permanent, physical scar. And I didn’t even get those injuries during actual games. Just practicing. 

13. How tall are you?

5'4 -- though that’s debated, too. I’m on the lower end and have horrible posture.

14. Favorite subject in school?

K-12? English. (Maybe Math comes second.)

15. Dream job?

If I could write -- or actually help people write -- all day long, that would be great. (I like helping people workshop their ideas and things, and I did want to be an editor when I was leaving high school. Did not happen. Obviously.) I would also not be mad about crafting all day, though I know that as a business can wear you down. If I had to dream super big, I have always wanted to have the job that Frankie has on Community, where you just go in and help people fix their problems. I don’t think it’s a real job, but I want it. I do it all the time at work already.

So my best friends and I always make fun cake creations for each other's birthdays, and this year I made a request for the cake theme: NCIS: LA and/or Densi cake! (this friend is the one who got me into the show in the first place! And she's the one I made the croquembouche for last year.)

And boy, did she deliver! Densi adorned the outside, and "Sunshine and Gunpowder" filled the inside of this delicious, vanilla cake with lemon buttercream!

Even though it took Densi 6 years to get together I am glad that the writers didn’t hold back on the banter/flirting. Like there was no denying something was there.

Unlike some other cop dramedy I know.

Why ‘NCIS: LA’ Star Daniela Ruah Is ‘Thrilled’ About Densi’s ‘New Beginnings’

NCIS: Los Angeles ended its 14-year run with a series finale, titled “New Beginnings,” that delivered happiness and left quite a bit up in the air about the future. For Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah) and Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen), whose journey to parenthood hasn’t been easy (remember back when the top of kids first came up?), she found out she’s pregnant just before Callen (Chris O’Donnell)…

As much as this was a great episode. I mean we got to see Deeks in that outfit again, who can complain? Spoilers ahead

NCISLA knows how to do a good backstory. It's just ashame this one came in so late to the game. Sorry but as much as this is heart warming and something that needs.to be seen on screen I got only limited episodes left with my familia and I don't need grumpy old Admiral being a stubborn ass for 30 minutes. So glad he turned around went back though.

So would've preferred the DEEKS M BACKSTORY WE WERE PROMISED.

Yay Densi!! Finally got them being crazy parents and bantering together again. Something that's going to be missed in a few weeks. 👀 Love how Deeks has turned into (we knew it was always going to be this way.) The crazy over protective papa bear. Good luck Rosa. Absolutely loved the homeless outfit making a come back! He does his best undercover work in that thing.

Called and Sam. Poor Sam. Do you actually need a plus one for a wedding? I must've missed that memo. It's more fun riding solo anyways. Sam can pick up while he's there he doesn't need a set up prior. Clearly the guys got game. If you haven't seen the promo photos for the series finale look away now. Spoiler inside a spoiler.

So the series Finale is going to be set at least in part around Callen and Anna's wedding. CALLED IT. So cliche and expected. That's not a bad thing though. I wanted it to end on a happy note. No death, no major tradgedy (that's still undetermined I'm just putting out good juju) but a celebration of the main characters we've seen grow over the last 14 years. OK I'm not getting emotional I'm out.

You stood in front of the Christmas tree that you’d just put up in the living room of your apartment. As you decorate it there’s a knock on the door from your neighbour who was letting you borrow some of her Christmas lights.

“I was really surprised when I got your message the other day Ziva” she says and you turn to Y/N raising an eyebrow

“Oh?” you ask

“I thought you said you didn’t celebrate Christmas…” you remember the conversation you had had with Y/N at the same time last year, normally you wouldn’t of bothered but given that Tali was a year older this year you had decided to not only embrace your own religion and beliefs but her father’s as well, and knowing her father’s love of this particular holiday season you wanted to do right by your 14 month old baby.

“I’m doing it for Tali, her father believes in this tradition and I want to have her involved in her customs and my own” you explain looking over at your neighbour

“I guess that makes sense, do you need anything else? Maybe I could bring some recipes over for you, something to help you get a little bot more Christmassy?” she asks and you look over at her and give a slight nod

“I would like that” you say and she turns to go, when she reaches the door you call out to her

“Y/N, do you have anywhere to go for Christmas?” you ask and she shakes her head

“No not this Christmas” she says and you take a deep breath

“Would you like to join me and Tali for our first Christmas?” you ask and she smiles at you

“I would like that very much, thank you Ziva” she says as she exits your apartment.

Hola loves, I loved the season 14 premiere on Sunday! 😁 I missed Kensi and Deeks so much!!! I realize I left for awhile and I feel so bad I got burnt out. 😭

But since the summer my life has been turned upside down, by a devastating diagnosis and I am dealing with something very personal. 😭 I am currently in recovery and am doing well. 🙏 It's just too hard for me to talk about right now, still too fresh.

I will be back, but everything is up in the air for the foreseeable next few months and even next year. 😭😭

I badly need to have as many new #Densi moments and feels as possible to help me get through this and fully recover and it is going to be a long road. 😔 I'm not ready to say anything else yet.

I just felt like I needed to explain my absence for the past year. 😁

Well, I’m a little torn between wanting to jump up and cheer, to fearing that Season 14 won’t be any different from this Season. I mean, I thought Seasons 11-13 would all be different....

But anyways, I’m glad I get to stick with folks like @shipppphappens, @snorlaxishere, @densioverwatch, @youcantwashoutghost , @mashmaiden, @densi-obsessed, @zwetschgesworld, @typingtess , @kalliopekorekind for another year. Because getting through terrible episode after terrible episode is more worth it when you have good folks to confide in. 🤗

More good takes. I think Gemmill even went a step further from @sonyarebecchi's excellent point about seeing Deeks only as part of Densi. It's that to the extent that he did see Deeks as a separate character, it was to take over for Beale as the silly one. I won't even bring up FLETC (except I couldn't stop myself and just did), but even in Gemmill's future plans, he just wanted to see Deeks agitated over Roberta and Arkady, just as he had been over Roberta and Guy. He was never interested in digging deeper. And that's another issue with Gemmill- he was very content to repeat entire story lines. We had multiple versions of Callen's younger years (at least as far as I could understand them). Multiple adorable couples bickering over wedding planning. Multiple times Deeks was frazzled by Roberta (which granted, was usually fun, just not with Guy). I'm sure it's hard to fill up 14 years of stories, but then again, he needed to look no further than social media and fan fiction to see all the interesting avenues he might have explored.

this might be a controversial opinion but i’m going to say it anyway as i have in the past because it’s still unfortunately relevant: not getting a ‘deeks, m’ episode or more deeks focused episodes or stories has nothing to do with the show choosing to focus on kilbride & his son or callen’s story because there were multiple seasons where they had the opportunity to do so, to focus on deeks and chose not to. the problem where the lack of focus on deeks is concerned is that for many years now, it was evident that the show and writers had reached a point (quite early on too unfortunately) where deeks was clearly seen more as an extension of densi as opposed to his own character and until that changed (which honestly wasn’t likely to ever happen), he was never going to be focused on more as a character.
