                   DO YOU REMEMBER EMPHASIS? A few people do. They fall into the "nugu but not nugu disbanded girl group" category. They were famous during their short year of activity.

Initially, Emphasis acted as a sister group to Angelico's first and smash-hit boy group, Priority. It was meant to be a collaborative project, with Emphasis and Priority meant to come together once a year and make an album together.

This would never end up happening.

Shortly after Emphasis' debut in 2014, the group fell inactive before disbanding in 2016 after a year of inactivity and two releases to their name. 

Emphasis has effectively been wiped from Angelico's history, erasing all their content with the exception of their official music videos. The erasure of Emphasis has always left a sour taste in people's mouths.

What happened? Why did they disband so early and so quietly? Where are the girls now?

DISCOGRAPHY:

EMPHASIS would release TWO mini albums in their short time as a group. They operated on a dual-concept system where they would have a "Cool" song and a "Cute" song, promoting them both simultaneously to show off their versatility and milk the mini album for all it's worth.

Their debut mini-album would feature the tracks "Feel Special" and "Du Du Du!" as well as the b-sides "White Lotus" and "Hot Stuff!" which were not promoted but performed on occasion. The mini album, tilted EMPRINTSIS, would perform decently, and the girls would garner a small but dedicated fanbase within Korea as well as Australia.

Their final mini album would be titled "EMFACT" with the title tracks "FANCY" and "LOVE BOMB!" accompanying the three b-sides: Singled, Interlocked, and Sugar Sweet. Fancy and Love Bomb were hits. Literally, the success of their first comeback is every Kpop company's dream. These girls were talked about everywhere and they were everywhere. Everyone wanted a part of Emphasis and to see what the girls had in store.

What did they have in store, you might ask? A year-long hiatus.

Then what?

Disbandment.

Upon the announcement of the disbandment of their now-deleted fan cafe, Emphasis announced that it would release a farewell single that would not be promoted anywhere but would act as a gift to their Sweetpeas. "Pinky Swear," though a beautiful and heartfelt ballad, is one of those songs you never listen to unless you want to cry. Leaving Emphasis on a depressing and hollow note.

AKIKO would be the first member to terminate her contract with Angelico, but rumors still circulated she had her contract terminated by Angelico instead of leaving like the other girls. She would return to Japan within the same month as Emphasis' disbandment, retiring from idol life and becoming a producer and director. It would later be revealed in 2020 that Akiko was blacklisted from Korean entertainment after she had to explain why she rarely worked with KPOP artists. Though she will never work in the KPOP industry again, she recalls her time in Emphasis very fondly and takes any chance she gets to call Son Jinhwa a creepy loser.

YOONAH re-debuted in 2018 under the stage name BAEBI, one of the two Emphasis members to stick with Angelico. She would debut as the group's leader, main dancer, and main vocalist. Baebi is one of the most successful female soloists in KPOP and is often referred to as an "icon" and "it girl" when brought up in conversations. It's very rare for Yoonah to mention Emphasis, whether because of contractual reasons or because she doesn't want to is unknown, when she does bring up "her first group," she speaks fondly of them and often gets emotional. She always posts something on Emphasis' debut anniversary and wishes things could've been different.

PIPER is the leader, main vocalist, lead dancer, and visual of Mydol entertainment girl group Sugar n' Spice. She has also become known for her solo projects (solo releases, OSTs, acting, MCing, etc.) and her influence in the fashion world. Even though her time in emphasis was clouded with negativity, Piper saw the group as her first official home after leaving Australia, and she remembers it as a time that should be treasured despite everything that went wrong. despite being very aware of everything horrible that went down during that time period, it took until very recently for Piper to take off her rose-tinted glasses to see how truly awful the girls were treated and to fully process everything they went through.

YEONA is on her way to pursuing an acting career as she thinks the idol community causes a lot of suffering and criticism. Yeona felt that being with the group was like growing up in a household of sisters as they fought, they laughed and they had fun with each other. She says the group was there for her despite her temper when she first joined, so she can't say she doesn't miss the group, but she's glad they've gone their own ways

CHAEWON signed with STARBORN CREATIVE in early 2018, shortly after leaving Angelico, and trained there for another two years before debuting again in the girl group PRIMADONNA in 2020. She views her experience in Emphasis as just a fond memory. She prefers to look back at the good times she had with the girls, as well as at the girl she was back then before the group unfortunately disbanded.

SUKI is the leader, visual, and main vocalist in the Fearful Entertainment group, FEMME. She feels very bittersweet about it. She's happy that it lead to her having a career, but doesn't want to go back to that era, ever, because of how toxic it was for everyone involved.

MIRAI is mainly an actress now, and she's a very successful one at that! She's been in dramas such as Hotel del Luna, Stranger Things, A Tale of the Nine-tailed, Alice in Borderland, Squid Game, live-action remakes of Kakegurui and Kimi ni Todoke. Mirai also went solo while in AKB48 in 2017 and recently returned to the K-pop market this year. She views her time in the group as a learning experience and something she doesn't really regret. It just told her that maybe the Korean idol market wasn't entirely for her, which is why it took so long for her to actually return to it. Overall, though, Mirai treasures the connections she made with the other members, but she would rather not feel that insecure or unsure again.

STAR is the main rapper and lead dancer of La Vie under Prismatic Entertainment. The group has had its own turmoil, but she refuses to let her career end in a dumpster fire like Emphasis did, even if it's the last thing she does. She views it as learning from mistakes. Her time in Emphasis was a few very high ups and many lows. She doesn't generally like to talk about it unless it's a brief positive comment in an interview. The long hiatus almost made her believe her dream was over, but getting a second chance only made her dig her claws deeper into what she has now.

LUCY became a streamer after leaving Angelico. She would keep up with her YesImLucy account and do various comedy streams. In 2023, she decided to go back into music. She would debut as a soloist under Dream Media with the album "LOVE AND ...". Her music was well received by her current fans, but she was cursed to nugudom by netizens. She thought it was a waste of time. Lucy loved being in the group and spending time with the other girls, which gave her little experience. They felt more like a group of YouTubers singing together than an actual K-pop group.

MIJOO made her third, and hopefully final, debut in the girl group JelliB under Poser Records back in 2023. Her positions are that of main dancer, lead vocalist, and face of the group. Mijoo has since been deemed "the idol's princess" due to the huge amount of love and support she's garnered over the years, not just by her fans but also by people in the industry. Mijoo's experience in Emphasis will always be seen as positive. They were and forever will be her first home. Even when she was being overworked to hell and back and often found herself growing frustrated and empty from the extensive training, she knew that the moment she stepped into the practice room, she was going to be smothered in adoration. Their love pushed her to work harder, and even though they didn't last long, they remained the best part of her time in the group.

The group was very popular domestically, always charting high within Korea. While garnering minor success internationally, they were wildly more successful within Asia.

CICADA was first introduced to public through a series of puzzles via the Angelico website in 2019. The website had appeared to be “hacked” with crypitc messages and instructions on it that varied randomly alongside ciadad imagery. After solving the randomized puzzle, it would redirect you to page with a profile of a “cicada” none of their names being revealed and most of their information being blacked out besides their birthday, position, and how they plan to defeat the “infestation”. While these puzzles confused the public at first, it was very interiguing and left the public curious.

Three months after this “hacking” occurred, an apocalyptic drama titled “CICADA” appeared on Netflix, starring a main cast of eight boys. The plot revolves around a group of survivors during an apocalypse caused by an infection of mutated cicadas. The series was praised for its unique plot line, horror elements, and surprisingly good performances performed by the soon-to-be idols. The group also recorded the soundtrack for the show. After the first season was aired, CICADA debuted in 2020 under the same name with the members ISSEI, MIDNIGHT, CHANSOL, ASH, DAEUL, JIHO, and HYO.

Despite their domestic success and the millions of dollars poured into them, Son Roan disbanded the group in 2023, not even a month after being appointed CEO. Their disbandment was shocking and sudden, resulting in protest trucks being sent to the company with Son Roan would pose mockingly in front of, showing no empathy or mercy for his decision to disband the once successful boy group.

After Cicada's disbandment, Tanaka Issei returned to Japan with much love. He left music behind and became a highly sought-after actor, ignoring his idol past. He even seemingly had "Cicada" blocked from his Instagram comment section. The past is the past to Issei. He wants to let it die.

Jiho would leave the group before the official disbandment, sensing the ship was already sinking. He never liked being an idol, especially in Cicada. He's openly discussed how he disliked most of the members, calling them "entitled assholes" and saying how he is in contact with none of them. He is now the drummer of the band Bones N' All. He seems happier now.

Lee Hyojin was last seen on October 7th, 2023. He was the most popular member with a promising solo career ahead of him. No one is sure where he went or what he's up to, but there is no active investigation into his disappearance despite his fans' protests for the police to at least perform a wellness check on the idol. Their cries fall on deaf ears.

Park Daeul would leave the idol industry and become a creative director and producer. His fans insist he's been blacklisted due to his short-lived solo career being blocked from broadcasting by Angelico Entertainment for "copyright issues" that no one could find the logic behind. Daeul succumbed to his fate behind the scenes quite easily, primarily known for working with the up-and-coming group Brat Pack and being Amanda Summer's protege.

Na "Sol" Chansol would become a successful soloist, actor, and producer. Sol is very well known around the entertainment industry and is the only member who speaks neutrally about Cicada. He never said he hated it, but he never said he loved it. He just says he was there, and he's grateful for the musical growth. Sol is signed under Pursue Entertainment and is their highest performing artist though the bar wasn't high.

Ash Kim would become an actor and influencer, but he expressed interest in being an idol again and would need to be in a group. Ash talks pretty negatively about his time in Cicada, often saying he was picked on and outright bullied by the other members, but refuses to drop names. It doesn't matter now, though, that Ash is a wildly successful actor, specifically in the BL genre, which has garnered him a strong and dedicated fanbase.

Finally, Sammy "Midnight" Son would re-debut as a soloist under Angelico just a few months after this sudden disbandment. He's pretty sheltered, not allowed to speak about the group or how he feels about the disbandment. There's always a manager with Sammy, watching what he does and says, carefully protecting his image. No one knows Sammy's true thought but his eyes are sad.

So, what is the real story of Cicada? Most of the characters are evil, particularly Lee Hyojin, Park Daeul, and Tanaka Issei.

Lee Hyojin would begin dating Chloe Lee of the massive girl group, Venus. To put it bluntly, he was abusive. He often berated Chloe, talked down on her, pushed her around, and sexually assaulted her multiple times throughout their relationship. Chloe had never been in a relationship at that point; she thought it was normal until the night in the field.

Under the assumption they would be having sex in Hyojin's car in the field behind the Angelico dorm, a common hang-out place for Angelico artists, Chloe would go without much of a debate. She didn't know the actual plan Hyojin had crafted.

That night, Hyojin would make Chloe have sex with three other men that night, three men she didn't want to have sex with. The only two she knew were Daeul and Issei, but the other one still remains nameless. All of this was done for the men's enjoyment, Hyojin believing it would give Chloe "Stockholm syndrome" and keep her with him forever––Yeah, incredibly ass backwards but there's no logic in a mind like Hyojin's.

In a final act of cruelty, the men would leave Chloe in the field after the attack, leaving her to walk back to her dorm alone and in the dark. On her walk back, she bumped into Son Jinhwa, who immediately took her to the hospital due to her condition. Though she had a rape kit done and a police report, she would not name her assailants either to Jinhwa or to the police.

Still, it didn't take a rocket scenitist to figure out who was resposible.

Hyojin had never been right. He had an extensive record of harassing girls at his school and beating the shit out of any guy who disagreed with him. His mother died giving birth to him, and his father hated him because of it. You could say, from the start, he was born rotten. He was raised by his grandmother, who became bedridden when he was eleven, leaving him to take care of her. His life was tragic, but none of that mattered. An abuser is an abuser with a tragic backstory or not.

After Son Roan disbanded Cicada and effectively blacklisted Hyojin, Daeul, and Issei from working in the Korean entertainment industry ever again, Hyojin would storm to the Venus dorm at 2 in the morning in a rage. He would then not only beat the daylights out of Yoonah and Klara, but he would attempt to murder Chloe for "ruining his life" by choking her. This would result in him being struck upside the head with a frying pan by Sena Kim, effectively killing him.

Later, his body would be burned by Chloe Lee, Son Jinhwa, and Son Roan.

Born in Oct 12th 2053 to a Japanese father and Russian mother, V Arima grew up in a life of wealth. Sato Arima, V’s father is a high-ranking Arasaka executive and was sent to Night City from Tokyo to [REDACTED]. The family resided in Charter Hill from 2056 - 2075.

About V’s early life, his records from Arasaka academy suggests that V was a 4th Dan in Kendo and was really passionate for the sport explaining his natural gravitation towards the use of Katanas. His grades however wasn't the best, V was struggling in his academic achievements and was almost expelled from Arasaka academy if not for his father’s connections. V graduated Arasaka academy in 2071.

V is employed with Arasaka as a Counter-intelligence officer for 6 years until a sudden termination in 2077 under the orders of Susan Abernathy (Director of Special Operations for Arasaka American HQ Division). The reason for the termination was a suspected assassination attempt on Susan Abernathy by Arthur Jenkins, V’s direct superior and V himself.

V did not go back to his family after losing his place in Arasaka, presumably not being accepted back by his father, Sato. V began his career as a mercenary not long after with a partner named Jackie Welles an ex Valentino gang member. The two was acquainted back when V was conducting an operation for Arasaka in South America.

6 months after, V and Jackie caught the attention of Dexter Deshawn, renowned fixer of the Afterlife [Read file #8644 for more info on The Afterlife] which begins a series of events that leads to the heist on Konpeki Plaza and death of Saburo Arasaka [Read file #11 for more info on Saburo Arasaka]

Pusher is a 1996 Danish crime thriller following low-level drug dealer, Frank, who eventually has a deal go bad. Mads plays Frank's friend and aspiring criminal, Tonny.

Bleeder is a 1999 Danish crime drama about a loose group of friends whose lives go in different directions. The film follows Leo who is unable to cope with the news his girlfriend is pregnant and turns to violence. Mads plays Lenny, one of Leo's friends, a sweet-natured shy boy and film obsessive who works at the video store.

Pusher II: With Blood on My Hands is a 2004 Danish sequel to Pusher. Mads reprises his role as Tonny, now the main character. Pusher II follows Tonny after his release from jail. After trying to reintegrate back into the criminal world, his life changes when he finds out he's a father.

Valhalla Rising is a 2009 Danish historical movie set around the 12th century. The story follows One Eye, a Norse warrior captured by a Norwegian chieftain and forced to fight, until he escapes along with a young boy, a fellow captive. Mads plays the ill-fated and hard-done warrior One Eye.

Stunning Greek Mosaics Uncovered in Syria

A rare and stunning mosaic panel depicting Greek scenes has recently been uncovered in the Homs province of Syria. Experts say it dates back to the Roman era.

Syrian state news agency SANA reported that archeologists unearthed the sizeable mosaic panel constructed 1,600 years ago in the city of al-Rastan, adding that “the panel has no parallel in the world”.

The Syrian Directorate of Antiquities noted that it was found in an area previously held by the opposition forces of Syria.

Dr. Humam Saad, director of excavation studies and the archaeological mission in al-Rastan, said that the discovery actually took place in 2018. But the Syrian opposition forces who controlled the Homs province meant that archeologists could not uncover it earlier.

However, with the return of Bashar Assad’s regime forces, archaeologists finally received access. This allowed them to reveal the mosaic, which has a length of 20 meters and a width of 6 meters.

Archaeologists still believe there is a possibility of finding more remains under the mosaic.

Unearthed Mosaic depicts two main Greek Scenes

The uncovered Mosaic features two main scenes. One depicts soldiers carrying swords with shields seen with the names of Greek leaders who took part in the Trojan War. The war was a legendary conflict between the ancient Greeks and the people of Troy more than 2,000 years ago.

The second is a portrayal of Neptune(Greek Poseidon), the Ancient Roman/Greek god of the sea, and 40 of his mistresses.

Around the 12th century BC when the rift between the ancient Greeks and the people of Troy began, the Trojan prince Paris abducted Helen, wife of king Menelaus of Sparta.

When Menelaus demanded her return, the Trojans refused. In turn, Menelaus persuaded his brother Agamemnon to lead an army against Troy.

The Greeks ravaged Troy’s surrounding cities and countryside for nine years. The city held out nonetheless, being well-fortified and commanded by Hector and other sons of the royal household.

On the 10th and final year of war, the Greeks had the brilliant idea to build a large hollow wooden horse and hide a select force of men inside. The Greeks pretended to sail away, and the Trojans pulled the horse into their city as a victory trophy. In this manner, they entered the city of Troy and won the war.

A long-held argument about whether the battle actually took place is still raging. Nevertheless, there is enough evidence indicating its truth. Unfortunately, however, no one has ever found the giant wooden horse.

The reality of the battle now justifies all the stories spread about the war. This includes the tale of Achilles. The great ancient Greek warrior was invulnerable because his mother dipped him in the River Styx while a child. Yet according to ancient Greek mythology, he was left vulnerable at the part of the body by which she held him; his left heel.

Greek Mosaic in Syria “complete and rarest of its kind”

Dr. Saad said “It is not the oldest of its kind, but it’s the most complete and the rarest,”

“We have no similar mosaic,” referring to the significance and uniqueness of the unearthed mosaic.

He also told the press that “What is in front of us is a discovery that is rare on a global scale.” Furthermore, he stated, the images are “rich in details, and includes scenes from the Trojan War between the Greeks and Trojans”.

In Ancient Greek and Roman mythology, the Greek demigod hero Hercules slayed Hippolyta, queen of the Amazons, in one of his 12 labours. That finding apparently connects with history.

Saad further added, “We can’t identify the type of the building, whether it’s a public bathhouse or something else, because we have not finished excavating yet.”

Prior to the armed conflict in Syria, there had not been significant excavation efforts in the city of al-Rastan, despite its historical significance in the country, Saad said.

He added that “Unfortunately, there were armed groups that tried to sell the mosaic at one point in 2017 and listed it on social media platforms.”

Well, last Sunday, on May 12th, I held two successful performances for my "Wakana 5th Anniversary Live ~The"VOICE"Stories~"! This was my very first performance at the venue "I'M A SHOW" in Yurakucho. The location was originally a theater and after a renovation it was turned into this wonderful concert hall. The lobby was also a stylish and spacious 😊I took a lot of pictures so I would like to share them with you today.

First of all, our circle before the 1st performance! ーAn incident occurredー As you can see, I was a couple of beats behind so we weren't in synch with each other. I was like, "eeehhhhh???!!" and tried my best to explan, "your timing is off! It should have been like this!" Everyone was surprised but ended up agreeing😯.

Then we have our circle right before the 2nd performance! (Everyone looks serious here because we were determined to get it right the second time around. The tension was rising considerably…) YAY! ! ! ! ! We did it ! ! !Relief! We were all proud of ourselves. And then of course we had to take a commemorative picture. …Well, actually, thanks to these circles, both performances started out really fun😁! ･゜ﾟ･:.｡..｡.:･'(ﾟ▽ﾟ)'･:.｡. .｡.:･゜ﾟ･ At this venue, the distance between the stage and the audience is very small, and thanks to the slight slope of the audience area, I was able to see each and every person's face very clearly. Since it was my 5th Anniversary Live, I wanted to squeeze in as much of the past five years as possible. As always, Takebe-san did a great job at being a supportive music director by ensuring I was able to do everything my own way while still keeping things realistic. I hope I was able to convey all of my feelings to everyone. Your response meant the world to me😭✨ I was really happy that we were able to look back on the past five years together in such an intimate environment. I am once again overcome with gratitude, knowing that everyone has been by my side over the past five years, your presence has been more reassuring than anything else😊Thank you very much to everyone who came! ! It was a wonderful time! !

👎🏻 Past-senger - I was excited for but this one but it ended up being unwatchable for me. Cooper and Marc are an interesting pair and I was debating hanging on for them but the production quality ended up being a dealbreaker for me. It’s one of the cheapest looking productions I’ve ever seen, it looks like it was filmed & edited by kindergarteners. The cast + acting is solid but even they couldn’t save it for me. Dropped. 

👎🏻 Love Syndrome - Same goes for this one pretty much. I decided to give it a go because I was curious about Frank’s BL comeback but my god it’s terrible. It’s cheap, the plot is strange and the characters are annoying. And what is up with that wig??? I have no words. I can see how this is a spinoff of Unforgotten Night as the quality is similar but with the difference that I liked Itt and Day a lot better in UN. Instantly dropped.

The show will feature both a BL and a GL storyline, making it the first MeMindY project to include wlw representation.

❗️ 5 years after the harassment incident between Mew S. and Art P., the 2 actors came forward on Instagram, stating that the case has been settled in court and there are no hard feelings between them. They apologized to each other and told fans to support them in their further careers. 

❗️ The novel ดับแสงรวี will be adapted into a period/horror movie. The leads will be played by Zee P. and Nunew C. The movie will premiere in Thai cinemas and held its opening ceremony on March 30th. Shooting will commence soon. 

❗️ IdolfactoryTH announced their new project titled The Sign, starring Billy Patchanon and Baeb Tanatat. It tells the reincarnation story of Phaya & Tharn who were lovers in the past until an incident forced them to part ways. They end up being reincarnated as partners in a Special Investigations Unit. 

❗️ A third season for the compilation BL Close Friend has been announced titled Soju Bomb. The season will feature new actors and tells the story of a group of 5 young men who dream of becoming idols in Korea but fail before their debut. Before returning to Thailand they get drunk together when unexpected events transpire. 

❗️ After the Korean company Number 3 Productions announced their new series I, a Gangster, Became a High Schooler (which was going to feature Yoon Chan Young amongst others), it was revealed that the BL element will be removed from the plot and it will be turned it into a bromance-themed series. This upset many viewers as the original story tackles various important lgbt topics such as self-acceptance, friendship, bullying and more.

kang sooah was born on march 10th, 1999 in gyeonggi-do, south korea. when she was three year old, her family moved to beverly hills, california. ivy grew up as a privileged rich kid around other privileged rich kids. her parents were well renowned in their respective fields, her mother being a plastic surgeon and her father being a lawyer.

ivy was a competition dancer growing up. she trained rigorously at 8 count dance academy since the age of four, in contemporary, ballet, jazz, and hip hop. her goal was to become a professional dancer in the industry.

ivy also had a social media following prior to joining CHROME ENTERTAINMENT. she had a youtube channel with 742,000 subscribers where she posted vlogs and dance videos. her instagram account also had 500,000 followers, which led to her being casted through dms. initially, ivy thought it was a scam. for one, CHROME was never a huge company and two, ivy didn’t even know that much about kpop nor did she care for it. it took the casting director spamming her dms in order for ivy to respond. she didn’t accept the offer because she wanted to be an idol, she accepted because she saw this as another opportunity to be famous.

training was easy for sooah. she had already spent years training in dance, which is extreme in the west coast, and she was lucky enough to have already decent vocals. when she debuted, she was instantly a stand out member, often being dubbed as the “it girl” of the group along with one of the best dancers in kpop. she was the center and because of that, she received some accusations of being self centered or a “pick me”, but her confidence never faltered which many young fans of EViE admired.

Well yes, that was apart of why; they painted us as the villainous group that cause the tragedy before we were offical formed; in fact those on the hit list and even residents didn't trust us because we couldn't save Class 78-A in time and arrest Junko Enoshima along with her sister too.

Wait so they use the fact that you guys didn't make it in time?

Yep, the thing is that we had the password and key to get in there but there was a problem...

Juu Kinjo being the Police Commissioner and the Ultimates that sided with Junko, that bitch made it so we couldn't get in until her death!

Indeed, there was a lot of bloodshed and death, they didn't want to move but we had to get in. It was hell...

In fact, it all started after we brought a letter to the headmaster as well I believe about re-opening the school, at the time we had no idea that Junko was in charge of it all, we thought she was innocent and the police were investigating the location if the Reserve Course members that killed the main course was still alive.

But even then, you all didn't know so you can't blame yourself for that.

But if your saying that you all didn't know that Junko was the leader of Ultimate Despairs, how did you find out?

Well I suppose your boss was apart of why we discover this if asking.

Wait so... Mr. Kinjo was why you were able to find out Junko Enoshima was the leader of the Ultimate Despairs?

I see... so what your saying that you all had faked your deaths, Akane Taira and Yuki Maeda or Utsuro masquerading as him went into the school to join your class, set up this proto-killing game and Junko Enoshima might be the sole reason plus there could be agents outside the school, is that correct?

In the famously anachronistic 2001 film A Knight's Tale, the main characters attend the "World Championships of Jousting" in London for the third act. Since it is already inaccurate that a world championship would exist for 12th century jousting or that London would be considered a major world capital at that time, I think director Brian Helgeland should have added an extra 15 to 20 minutes where we see various matches at the World Championships between cultures that never adopted jousting in the first place and maybe weren't even in contact with Europe at that time.

August 31 - Yui Nagomi (Cure Precious)

Sts. Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus: Both of these men are appeared in the Holy Bible's New Testament. Joseph (not to be confused with the foster father of Jesus) is from Arimathea, and a respected but wealthy civic leader and a member of the Sanhedrin. More important is the courage Joseph showed in asking Pilate for Jesus’ body. Jesus was a condemned criminal who had been publicly executed. Nicodemus is also a member of the Sanhedrin and a important one like Joseph, and was a Pharisee. He appeared in the Gospel of John when he secretly visits Jesus at night to discuss his teachings, and was impressed by the miracles of Jesus but was not fully convinced that he was the Messiah. Both Joseph and Nicodemus are honored by the Roman Catholic Church on this date, as Joseph is the patron of undertakers and funeral directors while Nicodemus is the patron of curiosity.

St. Roderick: 9th century priest who is formerly a Muslim, and is venerated as one of the Martyrs of Córdoba. St. Benedict: 5th century abbot, mystic, exorcist, religious and founder of the Order of Saint Benedict (the Benedictine order). He founded twelve communities for monks at Subiaco, Lazio, before moving to Monte Cassino in the mountains of southern Italy. The Order of Saint Benedict is of later origin and, moreover, not an 'order’ as commonly understood but merely a confederation of autonomous congregations. His main achievement, his ’Rule of Saint Benedict’, contains a set of rules for his monks to follow. St. Albert of Louvain: 12th century French cardinal and martyr. He is the second of two sons to Duke Godfrey III, Count of Leuven, and his first wife Margareta van Limburg, and was the brother of Henry I, Duke of Brabant. In 1188, he became the Archdeacon of Liège and later received the subdiaconate in 1191. That same year he was elected Bishop of Liège and despite the fact that he had not reached the canonical age of 30, his appointment was widely approved. Gilbert of Mons, chancellor of Count Baldwin V of Hainaut, who attended the election, along with other princes and nobles, described the proceedings as a power struggle between Albert's brother Henry and Baldwin. Albert took the matter to Rome and appealed to Pope Celestine III. In May 1192, Pope Celestine III made Albert a cardinal, and ordained him in Rome as a deacon on 30 May 1192. He was then ordained to the priesthood on 19 September 1192 by Cardinal Guillaume de Champagne. Albert met three German knights in 1192 who persuaded him to ride on horseback with them outside of Reims. St. Martin de Porres: Known for his monicker, ’Saint of the Broom’, he is a Dominican lay brother from Peru and is noted for his work on behalf of the poor, establishing an orphanage and a children’s hospital. He maintained an austere lifestyle, which included fasting and abstaining from meat. Among the many miracles attributed to him were those of levitation, bilocation, miraculous knowledge, instantaneous cures, and an ability to communicate with animals, hence his attributes that is saw in his holy card. He is the patron of hairstylists, mixed-race people, innkeepers, public health workers, and all those seeking racial harmony.

TK might be short in stature but he is huge in personality. Fiercely competitive on and off the track, he is also friends with just about everyone. He’s like a favorite crazy uncle, a mischievous prankster yet willing to dispense the wisdom gathered from decades of racing to anyone who needs it. More fit than men more than half his age, he is an avid sportsman, competing in Ironman competitions, marathons and biking competitions. (Don’t touch his bike. Ever. Ask Dario about that.) He also is a big Sim racer, with his own line of Sim rigs, and a ‘hidden’ lair in his house containing two top of the line rigs.

A member of the Indycar ‘Brat pack’ of the late 1990’s. Tony Kanaan, Dario Franchitti, Max Papis and Greg Moore. Their off track antics were legendary as were their results on the track. TK is the last of that group still racing, with Greg Moore lost in 1999, and Dario and Max long since retired. The 2023 Indy 500 is his last ride.

TK and Dario went on to form a new pack of sorts with Bryan Herta, Scott Dixon, and Dan Wheldon, later adding Marco Andretti as a sort of little brother.

I just finished the crossover. Spoilers. This is a half baked rant filled review from both a RWBY critic and a life long DC fan.

This animation was wonky even for rwby, there wasnt any fights choreography that stuck out to me and I just finished watching this like an hour ago. Like it was so boring my mind was just not intaking anything that could stand out. Even V5 and V9 had some good fights, and both of those volumes got huge budgets cuts because of some other project being released at the time (genlock and this crossover)

The dialogue was just such a mess. And the voice acting oy vey this was rough. Rwby usually has great VA work from the main's at RT, the funimation crew, and a boat load of others. This just felt so off, like the cast was just asleep. Did the voice director just give up like a minute in?

This story was such a mess too! I know combining 2 seperate universes is always tough I wont lie, but converting DC characters with too many varying powers, Supermans multiple powers, wonder womans godly gear, Batmans Bat-everything, Flash' speed force, Cyborgs various tech, Jess' rings many capabilities, and Vixen's animal powered necklace, its all too much to convert to 4 set abilities. Semblance, Dust, Faunus additions, and Rwbys "its also a gun" weaponry isn't enough to fit what I listed off above. Just send the rwby characters to the DC universe.

And side note, just use the teen titans. No power scaling argument needed, their strong but not stronger than the league and are still stronger than the RWBY verse. Imagine Ren and any Robin understanding one another about being orphans, or any Robin and Weiss getting some development about their rich dads. Blake and Damian can get along over their troubled past, or even Starfire and Blake since their the minorities (Tamaranian and faunus) of their teams, or Raven and Blake being goth baddies! Superboy and Yang, anger issues, Yang and Cyborg, learning to live with disabilities. Imagine the chaos of Nora and Wally west and Beastboy. Hell you could even substitute the Jessica plot with Raven struggling with her powers. Theres so much more potential here!

And jesus they did not handle the rwby characters any better. They were all so full of themselves and acting high and mighty comared to the experienced hero's. I'd argue that its cuz the league isnt all there and cant remember everything. But RWBYJNR dont remember anything either! Their all in the same boat so why are rwby treating like the league hasnt fought worse threats, as mentioned Brainiac(an alien with 12th level intellect) and Vandall Savage (an immortal from the caveman times) and while im at it why is a guy thats running a breaking and very obvious simulation a such a big deal anyway?

Shipping, oh damn right im going here. I dont wanna see it, No Superman x Ruby, no Batman x Weiss, no Wonder Woman x Blake x Yang, no Jessica x Jaune, no Cyborg x Nora x Ren. NO! NONONONO we arent doing this. Did we not learn how problematic Starco was? Did RT not learn from Ryan Haywood that grown adults and teenagers shouldn't go together? Seriously im starting to think RT has a problem, I know thats an understatement but at this point im calling it a prediction.

Alright time to speed run these individual character issues

•Batman's arc on staying on Remnant was dumb. Gotham is his soul purpose, and he doesn't need powers. He has never needed them, he's always been able to overcome and keep up with these gods with his wit, skill, and tech.

•Yeah Weiss was just Batman's sidekick. She felt so disconnected from the plot I thought I was looking at V4-5 Blake. Plus why was she so persistent on keeping Batman in Remnant? Was her daddy kink that bad, is she just into older men who are trapped as teenagers? Gross.

•Superman and Ruby's arcs were weak. Ruby leader arc was just so lame, like her significant leader moment was just "sneak jessica and jaune away for a sneak attack" jesus that was lame. And Superman didn't have an arc really, his semblance unlocking, leadership, and blame for getting trapped was all super undercooked.

•The Wonderwoman, Yang, and Blake dynamic was so forgettable. Like I genuinely couldn't remember that arc, was it like a warrior thing right? And were they like... flirting? Really? NEXT!

•Oh god go back to the other one! Not the Ren x Nora x Cyborg love corner, couldnt they have done something else with these guys? This is just sad. Shame on you RT

•Oh yay, Jaune mourns over Pyrrha again. This is after V6 right, so did we have to focus on Pyrrha being desd again? Like come on let her rest, even DBZ doesn't bring up Krillin death as much. I do admit, Jaune helping Jess out was nice, their interactions were sweet.

•I did like Jess' anxiety arc, I think it was handled very tastefully and was a great way to write her character. She's too fucking adorable, her VA was one of the good one's. This actually gave her some great spotlight that we dont see much of besides DC superhero girls

•And I actually liked Vixen, design was fine and the voice was good, even if her power was heavily underutilized. But she was cool

•Barry what did they do to you? Oh Barry no! Why did they flash and make him so... nothing!? He looks like Bart and Wally mixed together. And he's the twist villian? Why didn't the technology based supervillian yake over the technology based hero!? Barry was so boring, I knew he was gonna be a side character but bro why make him the boring twist villian?

•Killg%re. Oh fuck if im not using the percentage thing im not censoring it this crossover makes me too angry to follow the rules. So boring. He calls himself so brilliant and smarter than Brainiac and Vandall savage yet his simulation was so easy to pick apart cuz the grimm, their freinds and family, their timezones, and even their own memories are so muddled anybody can pick apart this is a dream! His plan was so bad, stick the league in another dimension? Good so far. In a simulation, okay it can work. Turn them into teens so their hormones kick in? No, moronic, i hate it, I hate this! And look, out of every villian, why Killgore? The idea of a crossover is to grab your big guns and use their names to gather up your audience. If you wanted a lesser known villian who can alter reality go with BatMite, Mister Mxyzptlk, reverse flash, the Legion of Doom, or jesus anybody? Not somebody so forgettable that even KGBeast is more recognized than him.
