I'm a day late but HAPPY BIRTHDAY NERU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111!!!!! <3

I wasn't going to draw anything initially (srry girl, I was retweeting the art other people made for you tho lol) but something in me wanted to celebrate it properly and I don't draw Neru a lot, so I decided to go for it! Time lapse and traditional under the cut.

I completed the traditional drawing on her birthday at least, hehe. But in the digital, I made a lot of corrections.... Lmao.

1 hour for traditional + ~6 hours yesterday + ~3 hours = 10 hours? I was lowkey kinda gunning it within a day or two which I know isn't a healthy approach to art lol but time was running out and I decided to draw something so time-consuming and I didn't want to pass the date by too much.

Anyway, I like Neru a lot. Younger me really adored her and even if I'm mostly raving about Miku and Teto nowadays, I will NEVER replace Neru lol. Her being around is important to me so I definitely don't want my like for Neru to be underestimated. I'll draw more of her for sure! 💖

"I am the Big Bad Wolf! No mere ball can distract me!" Ella lifted an unimpressed eyebrow, waving the tennis ball in her hand a bit, Fenrir's eyes followed it before they snapped back to Ella's, crossing her arms and glaring down at her, flexing her muscled and puffing up her chest.

"Sureeeee..." She dragged it out, smirking at the wolf when she bared her teeth.

"You best believe it." She huffed out, looking up from Ella when she saw a ball of pink bounce over.

"Oh would you look at that, your owner has arrived." Ella teased, and Fenrir let out a grumble from the depths of her chest, returning to her glare.

"Okay... fetch!" She threw the ball, and Fenrir's eyes widened, quickly running after it, Bridget giggling as she approached Ella.

"Did she do the thing again?" The girl turned to her with a smile.

"Was she being a dick again you mean?" Bridget let out another giggle. "Yes, she was, and would you look at that, the ball did distract her." The princess held her hand in front of her mouth to hide her smile, Fenrir returning with the ball.

When she was a few meters away, she threw the ball back at Ella, and it hit her in the stomach, magic her almost puke, doubling over in pain.

"You stupid mutt! Come here!" They launched, trying to jab each other's eyes and hooking fingers in each other's mouth, ripping at hair and clawing at skin.

"Guys! Guys! We have class in a bit! Don't do this now!!" Bridget's high pitched stressed words hit home to them, and they stilled, turning to look at the girl, both still pulling at the other's hair.

"She's lucky I didn't let my claws out."

"She's lucky I didn't take out the shock collar."

"Look what I got for you." Ella smirked, twirling the collar around her finger, Fenrir's eyes widened before she jumped at her.

Bridget held her back with a sigh, looking at Ella with a small frown.

"Why would you do that, you know how she is." Ella merely grinned, waving it in front of Fenrir's face.

"Because it's funny, and I'm definitely going to get her a dog collar for every birthday." Bridget had to hold her back with both arms around her waist now, leaning back to counter the weight being thrown the other way.

"Oohhh, your owner has to contain you... maybe she'll need a leash for that..." She trialed off, pulling a leash out, the pink leather was bedazzled in some places.

"Oh look! It's pink!" Fenrir, unlike Bridget, took notice of the silent jab, and lunged at her when Bridget took the leash from her to admire it.

"You bitch!"

"Says the literal bitch!" Ella countered, sidestepping her when she jumped at her, she landed on her hands, and she turned it into a crouch, then jumped at her again, claws out.

"Come back here you sneaky little-!" She cut herself off, slamming into the wall when Ella sidestepped again.

"ELLA!" Fenrir roared out, the girl opened the doors to the small balcony and jumped from it, landing on the balcony under it, then jumping again and landing in the small courtyard every dormitory has.

Bridget sighed, following Fenrir when she jumped from her balcony and landed next to a smug Ella, who quickly dashed when she realised she was next to her.

She watched from her balcony as they ran around in circles around the fountain, her neighbour beneath her looking up at her balcony.

"What'd she do now?" Bridget smiled down at them, showing the leash.

"Ohhhh."

Bridget had walked down like a normal person, but when she got to the courtyard they were gone, and she could only wander around in an attempt to find them again.

On her wandering, she stumbled upon two new students she didn't know.

"Oh- hi! I'm Bridget! Are you new?" The two looked at each other with a small frown, but the blue one smiled and reached out her hand for a handshake.

"Hi! Yeah, we're new, i'm Chloe! This is Red-!" She got cut off by Bridget hugging her, she was about to hug Red too when she quickly stopped her.

"We're transfers, we're looking for room 111?"

"You're in luck! Mine is 108! We're hallmates! Don't be surprised if you hear a lot of yelling." She warned, but instead of helping she only looked around.

"Hey- quick question, have you seen a blue haired girl- about the same height as me, being followed by a grey haired girl- tall, a bit buff, probably running against a few things the latter tricked her into running against?" As if on cue Ella and Fenrir ran past, back into the school.

"Ella! Stop running! I have new transfers here-!" She didn't have to say twice, the girl ran back and used her as a barrier for Fenrir, who bared her teeth in a growl, long canines glinting dangerously in the sunlight.

"Bridget. Get away from her so I can get my hands on that stupid neck of hers!" She tried reaching for her neck, going around Bridget, but Ella crouched and clung to Bridget's legs.

"B! Get that dog something against Rabies!" It only enraged Fenrir more, and she tried going around to get to her, but Ella switched places with her.

"Bridget!" Fenrir all but whined, lamely swatting at Ella, who stuck out her tongue and middle finger. "She flipped me off!" Fenrir pointed accusingly, Bridget looked at the two transfers with an apologetic smile.

"This would be the yelling... I'm sorry, i'll help you in a minute."

"Yeah, listen to your owner."

"JUST BECAUSE SHE LEGALLY OWNS MY FOREST DOESN'T MEAN SHE OWNS ME!" Fenrir barked out, and Ella held up her hands.

"Just saying, your pack might live there but she owns it... so technically she owns you too." Bridget quickly stopped the further bullying by speaking up.

"Fenny, take away the claws. Ella, you know how she gets when you say the wonder forest doesn't technically belong to her, don't bring it up please." She send Ella a pleading look, the girl shrugged. They all didn't notice the blue transfer's bafflement at the identity of the fellow blue haired girl, her mom's stories of how she was back then were complete lies.

"Pointing out the facts gets you burned, got it." Fenrir tried swatting her behind Bridget's head, but the girl grabbed both of her hands and smiled at the two transfers.

"I'll help you two get to your dorm now. Fenny, if you don't stop i'll contemplate actually using that leash." The wolf quickly stuck her hands behind her back, looking away from both of them, noticing the girls.

"Who're they?" She pointed at the two royals, who frowned at the fact she really hadn't noticed them before.

"The transfers dipshit, fuck you think they were."

"Ella."

"B, it's not my fault she's dumb."

"Fenny I will literally use that leash if you don't stop trying to kill Ella."

"When I grow up, I want to hire a huntsman to hunt Fenrir down and make a fur carpet out of her, so I can keep walking over her until my very last day." Ella spoke up randomly, the group sitting at one of the picnic tables in the main courtyard.

"Huh?" Red looked up from her sketchbook, frowning at the statement, Chloe gaped at the cruelty of making a fur carpet, and Bridget sighed.

"You want to what now?! You know what I will do when you grow up?! Take my pack and tear your family to pieces!" Fenrir punched her fist into the palm of her hand, shooting up from her seat next to Bridget and across from Ella.

"I will be using that leash if you threaten her again, also, Ella, please stop." Bridget pleaded, holding her hands clasped together, her elbows on the table.

"See! Why did you have to get that leash!" Fenrir pointed at Bridget, Ella standing up now too and leaning over the table, the tremble of her standing up almost made Red's pencils roll off the table, but Chloe stopped them in time.

"Be glad she's not using the collar!" Ella jabbed her finger in Fenrir's chest, the grey haired girl huffed and leaned back, crossing her arms.

"Okay... let's calm down..." Bridget tried, prying Fenrir's hand out of the folded arm, and holding it, rubbing her thumb over her knuckles.

"I could get you guys some tea?" Ella and Fenrir both shared a look, then looked at Bridget.

"Why?"

"Because you're mad... at each other... again?" They both smiled and shook their heads.

"We're not!"

"She's just threatening me with death because she's happy!"

"Yeah! Totally not because I want her dead!" Ella glared at her, and Fenrir crossed her arms again, smirking, this time taking Bridget's hand with, she was now slumped against Fenrir's body.

"I give up..."

"Bridget... there's a cat on my balcony." Fenrir stood in front of the princess' doors a few nights later, being followed by a meow of some cat.

"Help me!" She shrieked out, jumping into Bridget's arms as the cat got within a 5 meter radius.

"How does this keep happening to you? This is a problem i'd love to have." Bridget shook her head, taking Fenrir inside and placing her on her bed, smiling as she pulled her knees up and placed her chin on them.

"I'll take care of it, then you can go back to bed and sleep it off, all right?" Fenrir slowly nodded, gripping onto a heart shaped pillow with her life.

Bridget went to her opened doors, where the cat was about to enter.

"Hi baby! How about you stay outside?" The grey cat hissed, completely ignoring her and trotting past her, proudly walking towards the wolf, who was scrambling to get further away, ending up with her pressed against the headboard as the cat jumped up and rolled up at her feet, falling asleep with her staring horrified at it.

"B-bridget?" She stuttered out, sounding utterly horrified, and the girl could only give her a sympathetic look.

"How about we go sleep in your room and leave her here?" The cat seemed to wake up at that, crawling into the space between Fenrir's legs and chest, and falling asleep squeezed between the two, Fenrir staring at Bridget as she froze up.

"I want my mama..." bridget shook her head slightly, smiling as she sat down next to Fenrir, rubbing her back softly to try ease her spiking heartbeat.

"Don't get a heart attack now sweetie, let's try get her off and we'll leave and i'll sleep over in your room." She kissed the side of her forehead, gently grabbing one of her hands and eased her out of her locked position, helping her slowly sit with her legs hanging from the bed, feet on the ground.

"Okay, i'll take her off now- Fenny!" Bridget lightly scolded her, Fenrir had stood up straight very quickly as soon as Bridget had let go of her hand, the cat clinging to the bare skin of her thighs.

"Bridget." She managed to get out with the same broken and small voice of before, staring at her with wide eyes.

"All right honey, i'll just take her off of you and we'll go to your room." She slowly unhooked her claws from her skin, the cat begrudgingly letting her place her on the bed, and as Fenrir was leaving the room, being guided by Bridget, the grey lump of fur set its claws into the skin of her back, holding on tightly as it climbed up to her shoulder and just hung there, from her skin.

"Doesn't that hurt-?" Bridget shook her head lightly, holding both of Fenrir's hands as she coaxed her back into her own dorm, sitting her down on her bed, the cat detaching and sitting in her lap again.

"I'll go lay down now." Bridget quickly got into the bed on the other side, the summer sheets were not thick enough for the harsh winter.

The cat took its time getting off of Fenrir and lying down on the white sheets, and she had never seen someone get under their sheets quicker than Fenrir in that moment.

The wolf curled up against her, her head under her chin, her arms wrapping around her waist and intertwining their legs, Bridget rubbed her back, softly humming.

"You're warm." Bridget smiled, kissing Fenrir's hair.

"Is it bothering you?" Her muffled voice came from under the sheets, the cat plopping down on the sheets right where Fenrir's shoulder was.

"Not at all, I was getting quite chilly."

"BRIDGET!" Bridget's head snapped up when she heard the distressed cry from Fenrir, who ran up to her, the grey cat from before following her.

She hugged the princess close, who was regretting her choice of wearing a thick sweater when she was most likely going to be around Fenrir for the most time.

"It's following me!"

"I see that honey, how about we ignore her and get us some lunch instead?" She send a smile to the cat, who was getting close to Fenrir's trousers, probably going to claw her way up to her shirt again.

"The cat's still following you?" Ella popped up, wrapping an arm around Fenrir to keep herself warm.

"Yes!" Fenrir sounded actually distressed.

"And why are you all huddled around Fenrir?" Red asked, Chloe hugging her close, with blue lips from the cold.

"It's cold."

"She's scared of the cat." Fenrir took offence to that and huffed, looking away from the princess.

"It's not that cold." Red sighed, looking at the blue princess conjoined to her, who had been complaining about the cold for longer than she could recall.

"Told you." Fenrir tried shoving Ella off, but the cat had jumped onto her back and was clawing it's way up to her shoulder, having her hunch over so she wouldn't fall as she laid down in the back of her neck.

"Let's go get lunch!" Bridget beamed, pushing up her sleeves, taking ahold of Fenrir's hand and taking her with her to the dining hall, in turn also taking Ella with.

"Gosh! It's actually quite cold!" Bridget shivered, sitting down next to Fenrir, who shared a look with Red when Chloe sat down next to her and scooted so close their bodies almost melted together.

"This is the most action you've had in your whole life." Ella remarked as she sat down next to Fenrir too, and the girl was about to cut her down like a tree when Bridget started cooing over the cat in her lap.

"Don't engage with the devil Bridget." The girl rolled her eyes, leaning up to kiss Fenrir's cheek, then turning to her soup with her usual smile.

"What does Uliana do in these times? I suppose she can't do much in freezing weather?" Chloe asked, blowing on the tea she had.

"She usually just plays with the water temperature of the dormitories so everything is way too cold or a blazing savannah." Fenrir explained, taking a bite of her bread.

"She doesn't do much against Bridget in this time, it usually starts up again around March, so in a few days it'll begin again." Ella picked up on the explanation. "It's only this cold in december and January, but sometimes in February too, it starts to melt in march.” She went further into the weather here, since theh might not be familiar with it.

"Maybe the devil will leave then." She looked down at the sleeping cat, Bridget leaning against her as she picked up her bowl to keep her hands warm.

"Plus point to the beautiful snow is the fact that we have a personal heater." She tilted her head so it laid on Fenrir's shoulder, the wolf tinted pink as she looked away.

"Um- would you like to join me for a walk-?" Fenrir asked Bridget, fidgeting with her hands and looking away, her words were oddly formal for her.

"Isn't it a bit too cold for that? How about we hole up in my room instead? I'll make us some tea, we could make cookies?" She slowly nodded, looking down at the snow with a small frown.

"I just wanted to watch the snow with you..." She muttered under her breath, Bridget took her hands and smiled, stepping closer.

"We can watch the snow when we're warm and cozy inside, let's go hun." She pecked her cheek, loosely intertwining their fingers and 'dragging' her with.

"Why's there a cat here?" Uliana arched a brow, looking at the cat that was circling Fenrir's feet.

"He's here for the sashimi i'm about to make you." Fenrir stepped closer, cracking her knuckles as Uliana took a minuscule step back.

"Mh, sure man, now where is the little princess? Needs her dog to safe her again?" As if on cue Bridget appeared, walking up to Fenrir and kissing her cheek, then turning to Uliana.

"Hi! What's wrong?" Fenrir quickly took her away from that situation, the cat trialing after her with his tail held high.

"Wanna walk?" Bridget giggled, placing a hand on Fenrir's chest as she leaned closer.

"No thank you honey, we should get started on those cupcakes though."

"Got you something...." Fenrir revealed the -this time- not dead body of a brown rabbit, which was anxiously looking around.

"Fenrir." Bridget sighed, how many times did she need to say this? "Don't bring me animals, they have lives too, if you accidentally kill it its family won't be so happy." She booped Fenrir's nose, carefully taking the rabbit from her and releasing it onto the grass field next to the picnic table.

"...okay." Fenrir watched dejectedly as the rabbit hopped away in a hurry, looking back at Bridget after.

"Don't be sad about it honey, it's back with its family now...." She trialed off when the cat came proudly trotting over with said rabbit in his mouth, very dead, and dropped it at Fenrir's feet.

"And i'm not allowed to bring dead animals anymore, I see how it is." She huffed, taking the dead rabbit, the cat following after her as they went to dispose of it.

"Do you ever think that might mean something?" Chloe watched from her place next to Red, curiously eyeing Fenrir and the cat.

"You should just look for something on wolves, dogs might work too." Red shrugged, the two of them watching as Bridget scribbled something on her homework.

"Mh, maybe, it's probably just affection or something." The two princesses shared a look, both probably knowing Fenrir did it out of a little more than mere affection.

"Sure, if you think so."

"Bridget!" Fenrir happily picked her up and rubbed her face against hers, smiling brightly as she set her down.

"It's only been a week honey..." Fenrir rolled her eyes, holding Bridget's hands close.

"I went crazy being alone with the cat for so long." Bridget giggled, following Fenrir to her dorm, the wolf holding her suitcase for her.

"I got you something-."

"Is it an animal?" Bridget asked as they stopped in front of the doors, tilting her head.

"Uh- no? It's not an animal this time!" She let out a sigh of relief, the cat at Fenrir's feet meowing in agreement with his... owner?

"All right then, what is it?"

"It's..... this!" She threw open the door to her dorm, a box was sat on top of her bed, wrapped neatly in pink with a big white ribbon on top.

"Couldn't find a pink ribbon." She sheepishly smiled, and Bridget quickly went up to it to unwrap it carefully, revealing a magical mixer, you just had to put some magic in the magic stone and it would mix according to the settings you set it to.

"Oh my gosh! Thank you so much!" She jumped onto Fenrir, wrapping her legs and arms around her and burying her face in her neck.

"Thank you thank you thank you!" The muffled words reached Fenrir's ears, but didn't go any further.

The wolf stared at the floor, holding Bridget up, patting her back.

"I love you."

"Awww, I love you too Fenny!"

It shows how Harry is viewed through mortal eyes. Yeah it would appear like Harry like that when he starts setting things on fire with his mind essentially.

“Watching Dresden operate was usually one of two things: mildly amusing and positively terrifying.” pg. 485 That’s quite a difference

Will didn’t even threaten Marcone or at least not as much as Harry usually does. And Marcone throws a knife at him.

“I mean that if Dresden just blew up the Red Court…that means the status quo is gone. There's a power vacuum, and every spook out there is going to try a fill it. The rules have changed. We don’t know how these people are going to react.” pg. 536 Yep things are going to change now. I can’t wait to see the repercussions

Final thoughts

I love how the story shows Harry at the beginning and how Harry met Murphy. I loved Faith. I love the interaction between Harry and Bob. I loved Billy and Georgia’s wedding. I love that Thomas being Harry’s brother is the worst kept secret. The Cobbs are wonderful. I love the bonding between Thomas and Harry. I love the Gard and Harry bonding on an adventure. No one messes with Mac’s beer. I love that Harry’s D&D character says Gard’s catchphrase. Gard clearly made an impression. I love Harry playing D&D with the alphas. Harry’s day is frankly a comedy of misadventure. I can’t believe Kirby and Andi got fleas. I’m glad Luccio took the scene well. I love how sarcastic Thomas’s narrative is. I can’t believe Thomas has magic. That’s so cool I wonder why he didn’t tell Harry. I love how much Thomas admires Harry and how protective he is of Harry. I love is how much Harry helps people without meaning to. I love that Michael is Alicia's softball coach. I can’t believe Michael swore that’s such a big deal. I can’t believe Harry offered to kill a man so Michael wouldn’t. I love that Uriel tells Harry all the lives he has helped. It’s hilarious that Harry tried to bill Uriel only Harry would try to do that. I love that even Uriel knows Harry won’t stop helping people. Wow Mac gets attacked. Interesting to see other powerful characters from other patrons. So now the Greek and Norse gods are real in this world. I wonder what others? All others? Jim just giving us Harry/Murphy then taking it away. I love how they both realize that we’re hot with the spell. Oh boy still not over Changes. Everyone is in denial about Harry including me. Yay Georgia’s pregnant! I love the different pov and how people view Harry. I love how we got different perspectives on magic and Harry from Thomas and Murphy. I loved all the Marcone stuff all of it. I love how it shows that Marcone views Harry as a worthy opponent. Now the shipper in me thinks this scene is gold. Marcone really does let Harry get away with things that he doesn’t let others like threats and backtalk. I wonder if Marcone would have hurt Will if it was Harry present and not Murphy? And Marcone even warns Harry not to test him back in Death Mask while here he only does so after he’s knifed Will. I love the dichotomy between how Murphy describes Marcone’s eyes as the color of several-days-old grass clippings vs how Harry describes Marcone’s eyes as worn dollar bills. I love how Murphy then describes Marcone’s eyes as something frightening, pitiless. Harry really was a deterrent to the evil side of the Supernatural side and now they’re coming in now that Harry’s gone. I love the Harry/Murphy moments we got in this story. I hope we learn more about the Formor.

I’ve learned my mistake now. No more eating or drinking while reading the Dresden files.

Rooster checked his phone a few times as he was on his break, nothing new from Bea with the exception she was out with her mother and Nicole. She appeared relaxed in her messages so it was very possible that Claudia had no idea of what was going on yet, which was good…because across from him, neither did Mav.

His uncle shakes the ketchup packet a bit before ripping it open and just smearing it on top of the slice of pizza. Rooster looked downright disgusted and had no qualms in hiding how much, especially his nostrils were curled up in horror. Maverick looked up at his nephew and laughed, ‘Don’t clock it till you try it.”

“Oh,I’m clocking it.” he says, “That’s horrendous. Thank God Bea isn’t here to see that, her Italian ancestors would drag you to the grave.”

Pete chuckles while wiping his hands and mouth with a napkin, tossing the used ball to the side and leaning back on his seat to smile at Rooster, “I’ll live I think, how’s she by the way?”

“She’s good.” he says as he places the phone aside and takes a bite of his burger, waiting until he swallowed to continue speaking, “She’s out with her mom and Nikki, doing chores and such.”

“And how’s Nikki?”

“She’s great.” he says fondly, grabbing his phone to open the gallery until he found what he was looking for, “She had a lot of fun back in Virginia,” the picture he shows Mav is one of Nikki on Beatrice’s arms, her tiny arm stretched to grab a few snowflakes while her mother just smiled towards Bradley with her cheeks flushed red.

Maverick just grins, taking another bite of that abomination before speaking again, “I’m glad you guys had fun. Bea getting used to the cold now?”

“A little.” Bradley chuckles, “She is a San Diego girl through and through, she won’t get used to the cold that easily.” he had to admit that it was much better than the first time, she wasn’t shaking every now and again whenever they walked out on the street.

He wondered if the pregnancy had something to do with that.

“I know I hated it.” Mav says, “When I went to visit you guys, whew, what a nightmare. A cold,painful nightmare…when we fell down,back during the mission, do you know how much I hated lying down on the snow?”

“We were being stealthy.”

“Yes and I hated it. One more reason to get the hell out of that place.” both men laughed at that, before Maverick licked his lips and looked to the side with a subtle shake of his head. He sighs, crossing his arms as he looked over at Rooster,”You know something I just,” he gestures to his head, “Couldn’t stop thinking about?”

“What?”

“The fact Nikki is six months old already.” he corrects himself, “Wait, seven, she just turned seven. Soon enough she’ll be having her one year birthday.”

“And I’ll be forty.”

“You make it sound like it’s the end of the world or something,Rooster.”

“I just want to have joints when she gets older,I want to be able to play with her after all.”

Maverick hums with a chuckle, shaking his head again and sipping on his soda. He could see there was something different about Rooster, something more than the obvious fact he’ll reach forty - but to him he still looked like he was in his twenties, maybe because his brain wasn’t used on seeing older Brad yet - that made him smile every now and again. He also noticed how the other pilots looked over at him, punched his shoulder or even hugged him.

So he had to think, what exactly happened in Virginia for this sudden secretive celebration? Because those kids could play it off like he’s too old to notice certain things but he’s not that old. He wouldn’t be where he was if he wasn’t sharp eyed enough to see it.

He looks back to where he last saw Rooster talking to Phoenix and Payback, then turns his eyes back to his nephew, “So,did the kids have a good time in Virginia? I know Fanboy kept complaining about the cold and everything.”

“Of course he will.” Rooster licks his thumb clean of any sauce, then shrugs, “He’s a little baby. Can’t handle a bit of cold. I mean,come on.”

“Bea couldn’t either. Do you call her a baby too?”

“Sometimes but I call it with love.” he smiles, “Because she’s my wife.”

Maverick narrowed his eyes, “And…” he shrugs while pursing his lips, ��Anything else happened there?” Rooster slows his chewing to give his uncle a confused look, arching his brow as Pete just stares at him, “I don’t know, they seemed really happy to talk to you.”

Quick slap the most neutral look on your face or else he’ll know.

Rooster continues chewing, using the excuse that he took too big of a bite to answer him, slowly making sure he could come up with something that could cut Mav’s curiosity short. Fuck, he sometimes wished his godfather wasn’t so sharp eyed because of course he knew something was off. “Just had fun, we drank and played games. We decided to do that since there’s a huge chance of deployment this month.” he is proud of how easily those words came out and how he didn’t choke on his own spit - also he avoided Mav’s eyes by fixing the wrapper on his burger instead.

“Ah,huh. Well…that’s all?”

“Yeah that’s all.”

“....hmmm.”

“What? What’s with the ‘hmms?”

“It just…something feels different.” Jesus not again, “While I do understand celebrating with your team before you guys leave the country again, I just think it’s funny how they kept hugging and clapping you on the back,Rooster.”

“They are just happy we had booze there.” he adds quickly, shoving what was left of his lunch into his mouth, “That’s all that was Mav.” he couldn’t keep those thoughts inside Pete’s head, he had to use a diversion “Oh, by the way, how was your New Year’s? I know you spent with Penny and Amelia.”

“Not gonna lie,Rooster. I’m still getting used to the whole,” he moves his hand in a circle, “Family time,I spent a long time just not celebrating anything and I’m glad to have Penny,I truly am. She’s…amazing.” Bradley smirks over his uncle’s words, he had never seen Pete like that and he liked that he found someone who truly cared about him, genuinely.

He takes the final sip of his soda and leans back on his chair, “So…what are the plans then?”

“Plans?” his nephew taps his own wedding band with that boyish smirk and Pete laughed, shaking his head, “Oh no, no, no, we talked about that already. We decided that we won’t think about that for five years. If we are still interested in each other by then…well…maybe so.”

“But you’d ring her up.”

“Of course I would.” he smiles, bashfully, “But not now,Rooster.”

Bradley was more than happy to see his uncle actually enjoying his life. He was a bachelor for…a long time, he couldn’t say when he saw Pete with a woman for longer than a few months. His mom used to say that he had this…fling, with a blonde girl when he was really young but they never worked out.

He knew his parents would probably make fun of Mav just like he was. Because he cared, obviously.

He looks down at his phone just in time to see a message from Beatrice.

Call?

He tried not to panic, because she rarely did that, but he played it off with a smile, “Sorry Mav,I-”

“Beatrice,I know,I know Romeo.” he flaps his hand at Rooster, “Go on, tell her hi for me, will ya?”

“Sure thing.”

Rooster pushes himself away from the table, already finding Bea’s contact and bringing it to his ear, double checking if he was far away enough. It doesn’t take too long for her to answer and he waits to hear her voice to check how she was feeling. “Roos?” okay, she sounded fine so far, so he just relaxed a little bit.

He plays with his wedding band as he holds the phone between his cheek and shoulder, “Hi,gorgeous. How’s the day going?”

“Um…good!I uh,I had to get home early.”

He stops playing with his ring to frown at nothing, holding the phone instead, “Everything okay?”

“I felt really sick at the um, seafood aisle.” she whispers and he can hear her pouring something in a glass, “I had to hold it in the best I could so I didn’t throw up everywhere, it’d be awful…and my mom would be suspicious.”

“Did you manage to get home safely?”

“Yeah,I called for Shells.I told my mom they needed help at the bar and she came to my rescue. She didn’t mind since she was just buying minimal stuff, yknow…but ugh, it’s really bad.”

“Are you still feeling sick?”

She groans, her feet slapping on the floor as she walks away and Nicole’s babbling gets louder, “A little. I kinda want to lie down and don’t move…Roos what if I can’t go to work? Penny will be suspicious,I never get sick!”

“Well, you did hurt your ankle-”

“Yeah but that wasn’t caused by–” she pauses “I mean f-fair.But…I…I feel so blegh,I feel like my stomach weighs a hundred pounds and at the same time I want to eat fried ravioli??? Nikki’s was never like this??”

Rooster smiles, looking over his shoulder back to where Mav was and seeing his uncle was busy with his phone as well, so he whispered back to Beatrice, “Baby you have…two little beans inside of you.” he says, “I think it’ll be confusing even if it’s still early.”

“I guess so…ugh,Roos. I am okay though,I have some water and I might watch The Nanny while I’m still able to keep whatever is inside of me….inside of me.”

“I know,baby.”

“I’ll be fine…it’s just intense right now.”

“I know. If you want I can call Penny and say you aren’t feeling good. She’ll understand.” she makes a sad little noise and he laughs, “You know that she will, she is a mom. She knows that sometimes…you just don’t feel good.” not because Penny was ever pregnant with twins - that he knows of - but she knew how life was when you had kids.

Beatrice takes a while to reply, eventually doing so with a soft sigh and followed by a sweet and soft ‘fine’ as she gets comfortable. Fran Drescher’s unique laugh echoing in the background and the adorable sound of Nicole laughing along was almost too much for him to bear, “...do you want me to call Penny?”

“Hmmm…No…I’ll wait a few more minutes, if I don’t feel good in um,one hour,I’ll call her.”

“Okay,” he looks down at his watch, “Gorgeous,I gotta go…see you soon,okay?”

“Okay,Roos.I love you.”

“And I love you.” he smirks, “See you in a few.”

He gets home only to find the house weirdly silent, the dogs weren’t there to greet him and every light was off. He stood by the door, keys in one hand and the fried raviolis in the other, furrowing his brows as he slowly closes it once he steps inside.

The keys tinkle as he hangs them and he keeps on stepping forward, “Bea?” he calls, placing the fried good on the kitchen table and looking around one more time. “Baby?” he tries to not panic, he genuinely does, once he goes up the stairs to their bedroom.

He checks Nicole’s room only to see that the baby isn’t there and neither are the dogs. He inhales shakily, speeding his step towards the partially open door. He slowly pries it open, it squeaks vagarously almost in complaint as the room slowly comes into view.

Rooster closes his eyes and lets out a heavy sigh in relief when he sees Beatrice with Nicole on her chest, both of them on the bed and the dogs sleeping around it. “Oh,thank God.” he whispers and it’s enough for Eleanor to lift her head and perk her pointy ears up.

She’s the first one to stand, slowly trotting towards him with her curly tail wagging as she greets him. “Hey girl.” he whispers, “You guys are taking care of my angels? Hm?’ he scratches her under the chin to look around the room.

Something smells…fresh, like minty fresh.

He turns his head towards the bathroom where he could see the cleaning products still inside and then ‘ah’ in recognition. He makes his way to the bed, smiling as he watches Beatrice and Nicole sleep so soundly, feeling almost bad when the mattress creaks under his weight, “Shit.”

Beatrice’s brows furrow but her eyes remain closed, “Roos?”

“It’s me,gorgeous.”

“...I…” she furrows her brows, bringing Nicole closer to her chest, “I fell asleep with Nikki.”

“I can see it.” he settles down on the edge of the bed, tucking a few strands of hair behind her ear and smiling when she just closes her eyes again and nuzzles his palm, “Are you feeling better?”

“I threw up.” she mutters with her eyes closed but arching her eyebrows, pointing to the bathroom, “Then I cleaned the toilet and the cleaning supplies made me sick again, so I washed my hands and grabbed Nikki and we lied here…and now…you are here too and I…feel bleh.”

“Did you call Penny?”

She peeks one eye open, he could see she was hesitant in doing so, “....I don’t…maybe I’ll feel better in a few minutes.”

“Baby you have to work in one hour and a half.” he counters, “Are you sure?”

Was she?

Beatrice meets those warm brown eyes and sighs, offering her palm to him, “Gimme my phone?” he does immediately, grabbing a slowly waking Nicole from her chest so she could sit on the bed while rubbing her forehead. She looks back at him as he nuzzles Nicole, the little baby finally waking up and immediately smiling at Rooster, who in turn smiles right back.

Beatrice waits for a few seconds, then blinks when the phone picks up, “Penny speaking.”

“Penny!Hi,it’s Bea,um,I know it’s…a bit soon but I was wondering if I could have the night off tonight? I’m not feeling the greatest.”

“The night off?” Penny takes a while to reply, “...Bea,I…well, I don’t know if that will be possible because Jessie asked to take the night off too.”

“What?”

“Family member passed away, I didn’t ask too much, the girl is young and she doesn’t need the pressure.” and Beatrice wanted to shrink into a hole because she couldn’t compare her issues with Jessie’s right now “...what are you feeling?”

‘Just…a stomach bug, some nausea.” she meets Rooster’s eyes, her husband just keeps a neutral façade for now, “Been having issues the whole day.”

“...listen, if you can come tonight I can set you up with some meds. I really need you Bea. Shells thinks the new guys are coming here, from the other bar.”

“What? Why?”

“Scope the territory, pretty much…listen, if you need to go home earlier, if you feel really bad, you can go…but I really need the help. I truly do.”

Beatrice sighed, clenching her eyes as she gritted her teeth, she would never leave Penny like that if she needed the help, “I…fine.Okay,yeah,I’ll go.”

“Good,see you in a bit then? And Bea…thank you.”

“You are- yeah, no worries Penny. S-See you.” she hangs up the call and hits the back of her head against the headboard, looking back at Rooster who doesn’t look pleased by the outcome, “She needs me tonight. A relative of Jessie passed, she had to take the night off. But she said if I feel too bad I can leave early.”

Rooster clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth before kissing Nicole, “Well,” he begins, “Let’s hope you get better by then.”

Okay im up to episode 5 in seaosn 2 of gwitch and like. Genuinely confused about why tumblr talks about this the way it does.

Like, Miorine just kinda treats Suletta like shit? Like. With the exception of the one scene in s1e11, i would go so far as to say that Miorine acts like she Does Not Like Suletta.

Like am I missing something? Is the dub entirely different from the sub (ik its not this one because I watched both versions of the last few episodes of s1)? Is this just tumblr doing its usual thing but turned up to like 111?

Anyways, I made a joke a while back about them being very similar to geiddlehark, and that was very true, except that by this point in the story, griddlehark had moved on to reluctant affection! Instead Miorine confronts Prospera to "save" Suletta, and then immedietly afterwards acts like Suletta is an annoying kid following her around while Suletta is trying to plan out a birthday party for Miorine and talk about the fact that theyd be Engaged.

Anyways, not really like, ragging on it or anything. Its a fun show. Just completely baffled that people wre treating this like its explicit, sweet lesbian rep, when the relationship is more accurately described as "middle aged teenager incredibly annoyed because the plot has tied them to himbo* school girl".
