We also have to remember that this is BOOK HENRY were talking about,where he IS actually horrid..and had done worse things than his show counterpart and the parents are better there but yeah,still wished they were good parents

Shoutout to iconic british kid's books that are framed like you're supposed to pick one of two siblings to side with and hate the other one, but when you read them as an adult you realise the parents are just horribly emotionally abusive and pitting the siblings against each other by making them into the golden child and the scapegoat, and they're both victims, and the parents just never get called out on this or face any consequences or learn the error of their ways at any point.

Apparently twitter is having discourse over this british kids series called "Horrid Henry" and people are absolutely SEETHING about how the horrid one in question isn't Henry but his parents. fun fact: uh I gave henry a fake cutiemark which is a purple hoofprint bc he thought it would be cool to have it match with his club "the purple hoof gang" (henry is a blankflank but this would only be at the beginning of the show and during the episode "Horrid Henry and the Killer Boy Rats", he would get a cutiemark probably related to music/being a rockstar)
