My 10% Left AU

I saw the idea of a 10% left after the Dark Forest Battle AU and LOVED the idea, so I decided to run with it! Thank you to @10leftau for putting the Allegiances list up, and for coming up with the idea!

The Survivors:

The Story:

The 12 (hang on) survivors meet on the Gathering Island. Reedwhisker, being the only surviving deputy, assumes the role of leader, naming Crowfeather his Deputy. Poppyfrost takes on the role of medicine cat, she spent a lot of time with Jayfeather in the medicine den after he saved her life as an apprentice so she picked up a few things, and she also wants to honor her friend. She treats the others' injuries as best she can, and they bed down for the night. 

The next day, while helping to clear ShadowClan camp with Bumbletripe and Icewing, Poppyfrost hears loud mewing, and follows it to where a little gray lump of fur. Mistkit, daughter of Kinkfur.  Her eyes aren’t even open yet, but she’s now the sole survivor of ShadowClan. Poppyfrost is immediately reminded of her precious kits, Cherrypaw and Molepaw, who were too young to be thrown into the war with The Dark Forest. Not that it would have mattered in the end, the lawless cats they fought against didn’t care who they killed. She and the group bring Mistkit back, and Icewing takes care of her while they try to figure out what to do about nursing her. Poppyfrost suggests the Horseplace cats, remembering what Berrynose told her about the cats he and his mother and siblings lived with, and while the others are apprehensive, Reedwhisker states that it’s their best bet. Gorsetail accompanies Poppyfrost there, and while Floss is sympathetic to the kit, she explains that she has no milk to offer but mentions Coco, another loner who recently kitted and may have milk to share. Smoky takes the two Clan cats to where Coco lives, and they meet the marbled brown tabby she-cat with three kits. She agrees to take in Mistkit, and returns to the Gathering Island with Gorsetail and Poppyfrost. On the way back, Gorsetail mentions that Kinkfur must’ve fought like LionClan to protect her kits, remembering the time that her own kits went missing, and how she would have torn down the forest with her bare claws to get them back. She and Poppyfrost bond over their lost kits, and vow to do whatever they can to keep this little one safe. 

With Mistkit in the makeshift nursery with Coco and her kits (Maizie, Willow, and Stormy) and reconstruction and rebuilding efforts underway, Reedwhisker decides now is the time to receive his Nine Lives. He and Poppyfrost go to the Moonpool, and drink from it. While Reedwhisker becomes Reedstar, Jayfeather appears to Poppyfrost alongside Cinderpelt, Yellowfang, Runningnose, Mothwing, and several other medicine cats, and explains to her that while StarClan is a bit of a mess right now, they will do everything they can to teach her everything they know. They welcome her as a proper medicine cat, and allow her to reunite with her sisters, brother, and kits for a moment before returning to the waking world. She and Reedstar return to the Island with StarClan’s blessing, and though the celebration is small, it’s still something. After deliberation, the group agrees to permanently settle on the Island (at least for now while they work on burying the dead and cleaning the former Clan Camps). Mousefur decides to spearhead building more permanent structures, and Poppyfrost realizes that she hasn’t seen her eat since before the Great Battle. She tries to dismiss it, maybe she ate while she was out, but decides to keep an eye on her. 

In the days to come, the Clan cats work on rebuilding what they can. Once Mistkit and the other kits are weaned, Coco offers to help, and has even started to grow close to Robinwing in the process. Poppyfrost has started gathering herbs based on what she learns with Jayfeather in her dreams, and has put together a medicine den. Crowfeather establishes patrols each day for hunting, burials, herb gathering, and den building, and everyone pitches in. As Poppyfrost works, she notices Mousefur has started to eat again. Eventually, the she-cat confides in her that she’d has a crushing amount of survivor’s guilt, being an elder that survived when so many young, more “useful” cats are dead, and that rebuilding dens and gathering herbs makes her feel useful. Poppyfrost tries to explain to her that she doesn’t need to force herself to be useful in order to justify her survival, and that her being here keeps ThunderClan’s spirit and memory alive, but has a feeling it falls on deaf ears. She and Gorsetail start to become good friends, and the she-cat comes to talk to her often. About 3 moons pass, and the group has grown closer. Coco formally joins the Clan, takes the name Flowerpetal, and her kits are Stormykit, Willowkit, and Maizekit. Reedstar suggests they hold a Gathering, where they can remember the fallen and hold a vigil for all the cats they lost. They do so, and Reedstar suggests creating a memorial. Robinwing offers to spearhead it, and together the cats create a large pile of stones, one for each cat who passed. They vow to keep the memory of each of their fallen Clanmates alive, and to teach every kit ever born in the clan the story of the Memorial.

Mistkit and her foster siblings become apprentices about 4 moons after the Gathering, becoming Mistpaw, Stormypaw, Maizepaw, and Willowpaw. Flowerpetal moves into the Warrior’s Den, and formally becomes mates with Robinwing, while Icewing and Mintfur (who were mates before the Great Battle) announce that they are having a litter of kits, which excites the new Clan. When discussing who should mentor them, Reedstar, Crowfeather, and Poppyfrost realize that with cats of all clans here there’s really no one fighting and hunting style, so they decide that the kits will be sort of communal apprentices, with a different warrior taking each of them every day. The apprentices even come to Poppyfrost to learn the basics of healing. 

Mistpaw and her siblings become warriors 6 moons later. Reedstar names Mistpaw Mistshadow, to honor the Clan that she was born in and carries the legacy of, while her siblings are named Stormysky, Maizeseed, and Willowbranch. Icewing gives birth to 4 healthy kits: two toms named Riverkit and Thunderkit, and two she-cats names Shadowkit and Windkit, one for each of the clans. Flowerpetal is also in the nursery, expecting Robinwing’s kits. As Reedstar stands there, he realizes their new clan has no name. He decides to call it DawnClan, for the fact they are the dawn of a new era.

Post OoTS Ivypool and Dovewing

Dovewing is the "True Third" of ThunderClan, but never asked for her powers. She is the most apprehensive about having special abilities next to Scorchfur, ShadowClan's "True Third". Much like in the books, Ivypool is jealous of the special attention her sister seems to receive, and embraces the Dark Forest training early on.

I don't dislike TigerDove, however, aging up Tigerheart to be the same age as JayLionHolly is an important part of Po12. Him being apart of the prophecy, and therefore a figure of authority over her in that sense, means that they cannot be together romantically. This means Dovewing's character will be taking a much different direction in Po12, regardless of enjoying her leaving ThunderClan in the canon books.

Both Ivypool and Dovewing do need to end up paired. For Ivypool, I need Bristlefrost to exist, and I do want her to be biologically hers. As for Dovewing, her identity as the mother of Shadowsight and Lightleap isn't all that important to me, however I would like her to pursue love within her arc. Shadowsight needs to be Tigerheart's though from a parental standpoint.

I love Briar/Dove, but it means Dovewing doesn't get her arc that I do really enjoy in the canonbooks.

As for Ivypool, I have slowly begun to like BlossomIvy less and less through my reread, and have been reevaluating what to do with their relationship. It is also no secret I still do love HollowIvy, as seen in my 10leftau. However, I also really like the idea of Hollowflight being the father of Splashtail, who will look somewhat similar to Hawkfrost.

With that outline out of the way, let's get to the options.

A. Briar/Dove and Blossom/Ivy Dovewing and Briarlight want to have kits, but due to Briarlight's condition and them both being she-cats, Dovewing will have to carry. Feeling incredibly uncomfortable with the pressure Bumblestripe puts on her to use him as a sire for creepy reasons, Dovewing goes outside of her clan and makes a deal with Tigerheart, who also wants to raise kits without taking a mate. Striking a deal, Dove and Tiger split the two kits, Lightkit and Shadowkit, and raise them in their own clans. Dovewing stays in ThunderClan with Briarlight and Lightleap, while Tigerheart raises Shadowsight as a single father. Blossom and Ivy are more conservative. They follow the "rules" and Bumblestripe sires, resulting in Bristle and her siblings. Ivypool thinks what Dovewing did is dangerous and gives her crap over it, but it doesn't last long and they're ultimately fine come A Starless Clan.

B. Briar/Dove. Blossom/Ivy SPLIT -> Hollow/Ivy Same as above with Dove and Briar, alongside Tigerheart sire. Ivy gives Dove crap and has Bristlefrost with Blossomfall, Bumble as the surrogate just as she believes she should do. However, Ivy and Blossom begin to fight more and more, eventually splitting while Bristle is still quite young. Ivypool has a crisis of sorts, feeling a sense of shame for her family's situation. She ends up confiding in her close friend from her Dark Forest days, Hollowflight, and the two grow closer than what Ivypool ever thought was ok. She falls pregnant, and is devastated with shame. She confides in Dovewing, who helps her hide the pregnancy akin to Leafpool/Squirrelflight, and they give the two kits to Hollowflight to raise in RiverClan where he will not face as much scrutiny as they might've. While Ivypool could've still been safe by claiming it was a loner/rogue, her self-hatred results in her believing she doesn't deserve the kits. Her and Dovewing are incredibly close, almost inseparable again after this, as Ivypool now understands.

C. Scorch/Dove. Blossom/Ivy This allows Dovewing to have the arc she had with Tigerheart, but with a tom closer to her age, and one she understands. Within Po12, Dove and Scorch are close friends, both anxious about the prophecy and struggle to fit in. In this scenario, Dovewing leaves ThunderClan and fulfills her wonderful arc from canon, but with Scorchfur instead (who is largely different from his canon counterpart). They would be the parents of Pouncekit and Lightkit, who would be ShadowClan. Tigerheart would have Shadowkit through some other means, the most likely scenario being adoption through the Guardian Cats, or a different sire split. Blossom/Ivy would play out as it does in Option A, however Ivy is far more bitter, just as she is in canon. She hates Scorchfur like she does Tigerheart, and there is still a lot the sisters would need to overcome to be close.

D. Briar/Dove. Blossom/Ivy SPLIT -> Hollow/Ivy Like Option C, Dovewing leaves ThunderClan for ShadowClan to be mates with Scorchfur and they have Lightkit and Pouncekit. Like Option B, Ivy and Blossom begin to have problems after Bristle is born, and they breakup. A confused Ivypool falls pregnant with Hollowflight's kits. However, Dovewing isn't here. There isn't anyone to support Ivypool. She is completely alone and realizes she is now no better than her sister. But she can't leave ThunderClan to be in RiverClan - she has her kits here in ThunderClan. She can't turn to Blossom for help, as sadly she knows her once friend and love would turn her in. This is also the Codebreaker Era, so she may be tossed out if anyone were to learn. She can' turn to her old mentor, Hollystar. So she turns to Hollowflight. She begs him to take the kits. RiverClan isn't swayed by Codebreaker pressure, and thus Hollowflight will not be questioned. And thus Splashkit and Fogkit were born in secret, Ivypool claiming absence due to needing to seek out her daughter Bristlefrost, who was at the center of the conflict. And everyday Ivypool lives with the guilt, knowing she can't say anything to them, and that she has no one. Silently she wishes she could reach Dovewing, and tell her she understands... but she can't.

Notes about certain dynamics under the cut just by glancing at these guys's wiki pages

Inititally, the cats all try to live together, but are sorted into small groups at their new "camp", composed of their original clans of course.

-I'm stealing from the original and having Dovewing there just so she can leave to become a kittypet. she's exhausted of clan life, she just went through major trauma and wishes she had died instead, and is suffocating so much that she just cant do it anymore. she goes off to the twolegplace.

-However, Briarlight joins her! she had also felt suffocated in thunderclan by her mother and antagonized by her sister, ignored by her father and dismissed by her brother, and before she could remedy any of those relationships, they die. Not only that, her best friend, Jayfeather, is dead. The other cats there are Poppyfrost and Cinderheart as well, who she always felt guilty interacting with because Honeyfern died saving her. She likes Purdy, but was always friendly with Dovewing when they were all apprentices, and feels a bit more comfortable with her. She felt suffocated in Thunderclan, no one knew how to help her with her exercises, and dare i say she actually got some nasty comments about her being one of the survivors in this ableist society. So she decides she's sick of this shit. She follows Dovewing to the twolegplace and her new twolegs give her a kitty wheelchair thing :3 also theyre gay

-Ivypool is pissed. She just endured some of the most agonizing trauma of her life and now her sister just walks away from it all? She's not willing to lower herself like her sister suddenly is, and she won't even visit Dovewing when she occasionally sits in her yard. She clings onto that spite because it's the only thing keeping her from falling into her own despair, blaming herself for the battle.

-Cinderheart, Poppyfrost, Lionblaze, and Mousewhisker all become a clique with one another. Lionblaze is the most distant, really only hanging around them through Cinderheart, who he still gets with. All the prophecy cats who live get it BADLY here. Cinder and Poppy are the closest of all, grieving their parents and Poppy's kittens together, and Mousewhisker definitely feels the most guilt, having trained in the dark forest. There's tension, but he's forgiven by the sisters. Lionblaze, not so much.

-Lioncinder babies still happen but ngl i think they're divorced

-Purdy is the one holding ThunderClan together. He's no leader by any means, but he'll let the young survivors cry into his fur if they need it. In "Dovewing's Silence", he apparently gets a line about how the clans shouldn't act like the fallen cats died for nothing, so I imagine he encourages the survivors to honor the fallen and process their grief. He probably gets closest to Ivypool at this point, who he sees is hurting very badly.

-Most of Shadowclan died protecting their nursery. Tigerheart revealed Brokenstar's plan to kill all the kittens to Blackstar, and remembering his reign in the old forest, everyone vowed to protect them as much as they can. Brokenstar's spirit would actually die here instead of in Thunderclan's nursery. Ivytail and her kittens didnt made it, nor did Kinkfur and Pinenose, but the rest of the kits survived. Blackstar was knocked to his last life over this.

-Blackstar tries to be the leader of everyone but this Does Not work. Ashfoot and Reedwhisker also fall into leadership roles, Ashfoot moreso. Lionblaze actually tries to be a leader to go 4 for 4, but this doesn't go well- he and Blackstar are at each other's throats, threatening to kill each other if it weren't for Ash and Reed.

-Wind and River notice the substantial amount of Thunder and Shadow cats left. They're not happy

-Willowshine is overwhelmed taking care of all these cats on her own. She's the only real medic left looking after cats she doesn't know.

-Heathertail is Really uncomfortable living with Lionblaze now. She makes a point out of never being around him, despite her being the same age as the Thunderclan cats. I kinda want her to become leader bc I like her

-its night thats all i have rn but ill think of more later

this one has. a lot of angst potential. so let’s go through some allegiances!

note that outside of thunderclan i only wrote bios for leaders (i wrote one for mothwing since she’s. you’ll see).

THUNDERCLAN

leader: hollystar-black she-cat with soft, long fur and green eyes. has a slightly torn left ear, scar on her back paw and a scar over her left eye, which is blind.

siblings: jayfeather, lionblaze

kits: none

hollyleaf had always wanted to be leader, but she hadn’t expected it to happen in this way. she hadn’t expected ivypool to still die when she attempted to save her, she hadn’t expected jayfeather or lionblaze to be killed by breezepelt, she hadn’t expected mapleshade to kill sandstorm and for both her foster mother and biological mother to die avenging her, she hadn’t expected crowfeather and brambleclaw to die saving her from breezepelt (jfc breezepelt calm down-)... brambleclaw hadn’t even been able to take his place as leader, but on his deathbed, he said something she’d never forget.

“i say these words before starclan, so that the spirits of our clanmates current and ancient may hear and approve of my choice. hollyleaf, you are the new deputy and leader of thunderclan. i trust you.”

hollyleaf had watched everyone close to her die. receiving her nine lives and seeing everyone she loved there was painful. but she persisted. she’d never forget when cinderheart, the love of her life, gave her the life of love, telling her to never forget her.

she’d do her best. for cinderheart. for firestar. for brambleclaw. for everyone.

deputy: thornclaw-golden-brown tabby tom with pale blue eyes. has a scar across his torso and on his back left leg, which now has a limp.

siblings: brightheart, cinderpelt, brackenfur

thornclaw had fought for the dark forest valiantly in the battle until he realized what he was doing. until he realized that he’d just killed his brother and sister. he regretted it deeply. 

after seeing this, blossomfall hid from him until she was killed by brokenstar, her mentor in the dark forest. 

thornclaw had built up anger towards brokenstar for season-cycles, ever since he kitnapped him and his siblings when they were young, and avenged blossomfall by killing him. 

seeing this after being appointed deputy and leader, hollyleaf appointed thornclaw deputy once they made their way to what was left of thunderclan’s camp.

thornclaw’s determined to do a good job.

for a while, dustpelt had never truly felt at home in thunderclan, being brought to the clan as a young kit. but when ferncloud asked him to sire her kits, he felt at home. they had several litters, but only four survived to adulthood.

and then came the great battle, where he not only lost ferncloud, whom he loved as a sister, but all of his living kits as well. it devastated him. he’d even lost his close friends, firestar, graystripe and sandstorm. he had no one left.

but millie, the former kittypet who had also lost all her kits and mate in the great battle, became a light in the dark to him. he’d never been interested in romance before millie came to his aid after the battle. the she-cat strangely made his heart soar. he wasn’t all that sure what he was in that way. 

but he knew that he was ready to have new kits.

losing her kits had devastated whitewing, as had losing her younger siblings and parents. 

the battle had devastated all of the clans, and whitewing soon found herself finding comradery in the riverclan warrior dapplenose. the two became mates, which didn’t surprise anyone.

what did surprise everyone is how quickly it happened, so soon after the great battle. but no one questioned how love happened.

queens: millie-pinkish gray she-cat with blue eyes and a chunk taken out of her left ear. she has a minor scar across her belly, and a scar on her torso, where she was bitten.

siblings: none known

kits: feathertail (in-law), stormfur (in-law), briarlight, blossomfall, bumblestripe

born as a kittypet before coming to thunderclan, millie was devastated when the great battle came. 

she’d barely even gotten to know her clanmates, and now she’d lost almost all of them.

but she stayed optimistic. she helped hollystar when she had nightmares or it just seemed too difficult to go on, she helped thornclaw with his leg when the pain in it was too bad...

and she helped dustpelt. the poor tom had lost everyone important to him, and somedays he couldn’t muster up the energy to do even simple tasks like eat.

over time, she felt herself grow to love the snarky tom, and before she knew it, she was expecting his kits.

she hopes she’ll do better this time.

SHADOWCLAN

leader: scorchstar-dark gray tom with slashed ears, one of which is torn. has scars over both of his orange eyes, which are blind.

scorchfur had always been a feisty young tom, though he was caring under a harsh exterior. he had a soft spot for his kits, cloverkit, ripplekit, and berrykit, who he unknowingly sired when he was an apprentice. he loved his mate, snowbird, as well.

however, when the great battle came, he lost all of them. all of the kits simply vanished, their bodies not being found, while snowbird was killed by hawkfrost, right in front of scorchfur.

determined to avenge his family, he took his place as leader, being one of the oldest in the clan, appointing smokefoot as his deputy.

he’s determined to be the best leader he can.

sedgestar was left as one of the most injured cats in the clans, a constant reminder of the pain that took place in the great battle.

watching her siblings die was painful, as was watching emberfoot die. only emberfoot’s apprentice, sunstrike, was there to keep his memory alive, apart from sedgestar.

a trainee of the very cats who brought pain and suffering to the clans. but she’d fought on the side of the clans, unlike breezepelt, a trainee who had also died in the battle.

maybe she could be forgiven. just this once.

maybe she could be deputy.

deputy: sunstrike-tortoiseshell she-cat with a large white mark on her forehead. has small scars over both of her eyes, which are partially blinded, a major claw to her jaw, which is crooked, and minor bite mark on her back right leg.

mothwing couldn’t believe what happened in the dark forest battle. she’d been unsure about starclan, yes, but here they were, in the living world as spirits.

mistystar, a cat who’d always been like a mother to her, especially after leopardstar’s death, died in the battle, as did almost all of her clanmates, with young dapplenose being the only one of them who survived other then herself.

she couldn’t be leader and medicine cat. she had next to no experience as a warrior. but she had to.

now, about a few things:

-dapplenose is presumably an older apprentice in the sight, meaning that she could be around whitewing’s age. even if not, they’re both consenting adults and the age gap is likely only a year at most.

-sedgestar was chosen as leader by all the clans. there weren’t a lot of options in his clan, but it was important to him.

“we’re almost there!” russetfur called, worry in her eyes as they glazed over runningnose.

graystripe noticed that the shadowclan medicine cat looked much more tired then he ever remembered. he’d stayed with the other clans’ elders - or at least tried to - and now looked near death.

“runningnose, you don’t have to do this,” the thunderclan cat mewed, “i’m sure one of the other clans’ medicine cats can stay with shadowclan.”

“i don’t want to do that,” the sniffly tom shook his head, “shadowclan needs me. i can’t let nightstar down.”

graystripe and millie exchanged a confused glance. nightstar had been shadowclan’s leader, albeit for only a couple moons and without getting nine lives. he was dead now, and from what the gray tom could tell, had never had that much of a relationship with runningnose aside from the fact that the latter was his medicine cat.

“we’re here!” the shadowclan deputy exclaimed, allowing graystripe and the others to catch up. “i can see ashfur, ashfoot and mothwing on the great oak; thank starclan we came on a full moon!”

pushing through the bushes, graystripe’s amber gaze drifted across the gathering. ashfur, cinderpelt, sorreltail... who’s that cream she-cat? his gaze went over to the riverclan cats. mothwing, dawnflower and loudbelly... and lastly, to windclan. ashfoot, barkface and... thornpaw? i don’t remember her name, but she’s an apprentice.

“we have returned!” runningnose exclaimed, pelt bristling and eyes wild. he padded over to the other medicine cats. cinderpelt and barkface seemed to immediately bombard him with questions, which made graystripe question.

“graystripe!” sorreltail’s sweet voice came from where the other thunderclan cats were, as the she-cat rushed over and touched noses with her brother. “oh, i missed you so much! by the time we got here, i’d already lost rainwhisker and sootfur, and i was worried i’d lost you too, and-” millie caught her gaze with the curious glint in her blue gaze. “oh, have you brought a friend! hi, i’m sorreltail; i’m graystripe’s younger sister.”

“it’s nice to meet you,” millie purred, “i’m millie; me and graystripe are, er... queer-platonic partners? i don’t remember for sure. one of the loners we met on our way here mentioned it.”

the dilute calico’s gaze drifted to millie’s plump belly. “oh, are you expecting kits? that’s great!” she paused. “oh, that reminds me; daisy, bring your kits and come over! graystripe’s back!”

daisy? graystripe thought, confused. that must be the cream she-cat.

it was indeed the cream she-cat; she walked over with three kits climbing on her. a cream tom and two gray splotched white kits.

“i’ve heard a lot about you,” daisy said with a smile, “sorreltail won’t stop talking about you. she’s a little extra, honestly.”

“hey! he’s my brother, what do you expect from me?!” sorreltail’s faux anger was edged with a playful tone. “really though, graystripe, i’m happy you’re back!”

“who’s this, mommy?” one of daisy’s kits - the gray splotched tom - asked, curiosity glinted in his eyes.

“he’s graystripe,” the queen mewed, “these are my kits. the cream tom’s berrykit, the gray splotched tom’s mousekit, and the gray splotched molly - er, she-kit - is hazelkit. they’re all a pawful, honestly, but dawnflower and sorreltail are both big helps. ashfoot, too,” solemnly, she added, “i’m happy i came to the clans at this time, honestly. while i know it must be hard, losing cats you love, but if i lived in the forest and came to thunderclan, i wouldn’t have as many helping paws.”

“thunderclan had a lot of nursery helpers in the forest territories,” graystripe hadn’t noticed ashfur jump down from the great oak, and gave him a small bow, “goldenflower, frostfur, speckletail for a while, brindleface,” he paused, and seemed to be choking back a sob as he added, “ferncloud...”

“ferncloud was your sister, right?” with ashfur’s nod, daisy rested a tail on his shoulder. “i’m sorry for your loss, ashfur. losing so many cats you cared for must’ve been hard.”

“are these the only survivors?” graystripe asked. when russetfur said the journey had been devastating, he didn’t know what he’d expected, but it wasn’t his clan only having three clanborn members left. squirrelpaw didn’t even get a warrior name, he thought, neither did leafpaw. or shrewpaw, or spiderpaw, or any of the other clans’ kits.

even his own kits, feathertail and stormfur, had died. feathertail had died before the journey, saving the tribe of rushing water from sharptooth, while stormfur had died not long after joining the tribe. when he and millie met russetfur and runningnose at ravenpaw and barley’s barn, the shadowclan deputy - leader, graystripe corrected - had told him how the tribe told them that stormfur had been found dead only a few days after joining the tribe. they thought that it was sharptooth’s spirit, angry and vengeful after its death, but graystripe doubted it.

“i believe we should dismiss the gathering early,” mothwing’s voice cut through graystripe’s thoughts, “thunderclan and shadowclan will want to inform their returning cats of what’s happened since they’ve left, and thunderclan will likely want to get acquainted with...” she trailed off, her gaze meeting millie’s.

“oh! my name’s millie,” the former kittypet mewed after a pause, “i’m sure i’ll get to know you all quite well!”

with that, thunderclan left, but not without conversation.

“yes.”

sorreltail’s mew was sudden, and confused graystripe. “what?”

“these are the only survivors,” the calico mewed, desperately keeping her voice from breaking, “the first to die was brackenfur. he tried to save an apprentice - maybe a kit? i don’t remember for sure - from a hawk, but fell off the cliff trying. i... i don’t know much more, i zoned out after rainwhisker and sootfur died in a storm. maybe ashfur and cinderpelt can tell you more.”

ashfur nodded. “birchkit was close to his apprenticeship, but he was still young, and the journey was far too much for him, and he must’ve succumb to fatigue or something similar; none of the medicine cats were all too sure,” he sighed, “spiderpaw died trying to save dawnflower’s kits from a monster on the thunderpath. if you think about it, it’s a little funny how most of both of ferncloud’s litters died in the same way; hollykit and larchkit of starvation, and shrewpaw and spiderpaw on a thunderpath. 

then... then ferncloud... she died too. i wasn’t awake when it happened, but the cats who were keeping watch said she died defending the kits from a predator. squirrelpaw made most of the journey, but we ran into some rogues who were far too strong for her to defeat. leafpaw stayed with her sister, and may still be alive, but i strongly doubt it. firestar, leopardstar, tallstar and blackstar all lost their last lives defending their clans. mistyfoot and mudclaw took their leaders’ places for a bit, but died as well, leaving mothwing as riverclan’s medicine cat and healer, and ashfoot as windclan’s leader. more happened but... it’s too much.”

graystripe rested his tail on his clanmate’s shoulder, sympathy in his eyes.

when they got back to camp, graystripe hopped onto what he assumed was the equivalent of the highrock. the cats gathered as he spoke.

“i say these words before starclan, so that the spirits of our clanmates may hear and approve of my choice. the new deputy of thunderclan is ashfur,” he turned to the new deputy, “ashfur, while you haven’t had an apprentice, i believe this is the most logical choice. at your warrior ceremony, firestar asked starclan to honor your dedication and skill in battle, and i ask them to honor this again.”

there was a silence, and graystripe feared he’d done something wrong, until-

“ashfur!” millie yowled. “ashfur!”

while few, the remaining clan members chanted ashfur’s name, and graystripe felt not so alone.

he was home.

The 10% form a new Clan, CloudClan.

Cloudtail and Brightheart, having being the only mates that survived, are heartbroken by the death of Snowkit, Amberkit, and Dewkit. Having there being no surviving medicine cats, Brightheart becomes the new medicine cat, while Cloudtail becomes CloudClan's founder, Cloudstar.

Brightheart, being unable to care for Lilykit, lends her to Pinenose.

Spiderleg and Mousewhisker end up getting along, being stepson and stepfather. Spiderleg admires Mousewhisker's love for squirrels and becomes brave enough to speak his own opinion about his family.

Rowanclaw, knowing he isn't fit to be a deputy, decides to help care for the kits, although still remains a warrior. He makes sure Pinenose is alright taking care of Lilykit and Spikekit and acts as a father towards them, but knows deep inside that Pinenose will never forget Weaselkit.

Because of Pinenose taking care of Spikefur, they never become mates, but instead think of each other as family. Spikekit, highly conscious of his true parent's origins, still grieves for quite some time, but ends of growing a small kit-crush on his adopted littermate, Lilykit.

Tornear and Leaftail are the only surviving WindClan members. Leaftail has to deal with grouchy old Tornear for some time before his wounds heal and complains about it a lot, but they secretly form a little friendship.

Grasspelt, Dapplenose, and Havenkit are the only RiverClan survivors. Grasspelt also gives Pinenose Havenkit, while Grasspelt becomes in charge of deputy duties. He gets along with Leaftail really well, to the point where they feel like brothers. Dapplenose gets along with Tornear quite well, and manages to get to his soft spot a lot.

So I did @10leftau‘s AU thing and OOF I’m emotional- explanation for everything is under the cut!

THUNDERCLAN:

- They have the most survivors, which makes sense because they had the most cats. 

-After Purdy was killed Mousefur went to the nursery to try and help during the battle, but at that point only Sorreltail, Amberkit, and Snowkit were left: Daisy, Ferncloud, and Brightheart had all been killed, along with the rest of the kits.

-Leafpool had insisted on Jayfeather staying in the medicine den to aid the cats who were able to make it there while she went out and treated cats in the battle. When she stopped coming back to get more herbs, Jayfeather knew she was gone. He and Briarlight were able to keep the Dark Forest cats out of the medicine den, saving the herb stores.

-After the noise of the battle fades, Jayfeather and Briarlight enter the clearing to find everyone is dead. They make their way to the nursery, where they find Mousefur standing over an unconscious Sorreltail and the terrified Amberkit and Snowkit. They take all of them back to the MD to be treated.

-Mousefur and Jayfeather take charge and begin discussing how they’re going to bury everyone and how they’re going to look for survivors. Mousefur tells him that the last living cat she had seen was Ivypool, who had been chasing the remaining DF cats from the camp.

RIVERCLAN

-Mistystar and Reedwhisker are the last cats left alive in the camp. When the fighting is finished they immediately leave to try and find the cats who had been evacuated during the battle.

-Podpaw and Curlpaw were helping their mother, Duskfur, carry their little siblings Havenkit, Perchkit, and Lizardkit from camp. Curlpaw, who was carrying Lizardkit, was ambushed by three DF. Grasspelt comes out of nowhere to try and save them but is unsuccesful. Duskfur gives Podpaw Perchkit and tell him to run, and to not stop until it was safe. She then joins Grasspelt in trying to beat back the DF warriors.

-Podpaw spends the rest of the night sneaking from hiding place to hiding place, desperately trying to keep his little siblings safe.

-Mistystar and Reedwhisker (who I headcanon is Duskfur’s mate/Podpaw, Havenkit, and Perchkit’s dad) find him sneaking among the reeds further up river near dawn. He’s absolutely terrified, and it’s a struggle to get him to calm down long enough to let them know what happened.

SHADOWCLAN

-Starlingwing was part of the group guarding the kits and elders in camp during the battle. They are overwhelmed, and he manages to grab his nephew, Sparrowkit, and help Whitewater and Snaketail escape. He runs into Rowanclaw and Tawnypelt just outside of the camp, and Rowanclaw tells him to bring the kit and elders to an old hollowed out stump nearby. With Rowanclaw and Tawynpelt covering the retreat, he manages to get the three of them there safely. He plants himself in the opening to the hollow and manages to ward off any stray DF cat that comes along, although he is injured in the process.

WINDCLAN

-Kestrelflight is knocked unconscious during the battle, and when he comes to again everything is still. He exits the MD to find the Windclan camp destroyed and all of his clanmates dead. He starts to wander the territory, looking for survivors, and finds Ashfoot a little ways from camp. She tells him she had been with Emberfoot and Sedgewhisker, chasing a group of DF cats, when they had been attacked by a much larger group. She lost sight of them in the struggle and barely managed to escape with her life. The two of them return to camp and begin to bury their clanmates.

MISSING:

-Ivypool chases a DF cat all the way to the Windclan border, eventually catching them just across the stream. Hearing sounds of a struggle, she finds Sedgewhisker and Emberfoot fighting for their lives. She helps them fight them off, and they tell her that they’re the only ones left from Windclan, thinking that Ashfoot had been killed. She leads them back to the abandoned two leg nest to recover, as they were badly injured, and she believes herself to be the last Thunderclan cat.

-When Smokefoot and Snowbird return to Shadowclan territory to help their clan, they run into Rowanclaw, who is trying to protect a dying Tawnypelt from a group of DF cats. They help him fight them off and he tells them the camp is lost. He is badly injured, and it’s too late to help Tawnypelt. He tries to tell them something about Starlingwing but passes out before he can. They start dragging him away, trying to find someplace safe to recover. They end up at the far edge of Shadowclan territory, near the Riverclan border, and hide under the boughs of a willow tree there. Not long after they hear the sound of cats heading their way, and prepare to fight to the last. However, it turns out to be a partially blinded Grasspelt and a grief stricken Duskfur. They all shelter together under the tree, and Grasspelt explains that Duskfur had lost at least two, if not all of her children that night. At that point Rowanclaw begins to come to, and immediately starts demanding they try and find their clanmates, while Smokefoot and Snowbird try to get him to rest lest he reopen his wounds. 

AFTER:

-Ashfoot and Kestrelflight split up to check on the other clans. Kestrelflight goes to Thunderclan, where he meets with their survivors, while Ashfoot goes to Riverclan. There she meets up with Mistystar and Reedwhisker, and they exchange information about what happened. Mistystar decides to bring her son and grandchildren to the island, and tells Ashfoot that she and Kestrelflight are welcome to join. Ashfoot goes with Reedwhisker to Shadowclan to seek out survivors there, and they manage to find Starlingwing and the others. Reedwhisker goes with them to help them get to the island. Ashfoot eventually makes it to the Thunderclan camp, where she tells the rest of the survivors that everyone left is gathering on the island.

-Once there it really sinks in how much has been lost. Everyone agrees that Mistystar should be in charge, and she decides to keep both deputies. She chooses Mousefur as the Thunderclan representative and Starlingwing as the Shadowclan representative of their little group, and they begin to discuss what to do next.

-Sorreltail immediately takes on Sparrowkit, Havenkit, and Perchkit, channeling her own grief at the loss of her children into taking care of the five remaining kits.

-Ashfoot and Kestreflight volunteer to help bury the rest of the dead, as they have already taken care of their own: they also want to look for Emberfoot and Sedgewhisker, as theirs had been the only bodies they couldn’t find.

-Eventually all the dead are accounted for, and they begin to search for the missing cats

That’s all I have for right now, and idk if I’ll actually do much more with this, but it was definitely a fun way to spend an afternoon!

For my AU, I decided only 15 out of the 130 cats survived, and I’m revealing the first three....

Leader: Blackstar

Blackstar is the only remaining leader of all the clans. Although being very stubborn and a true ShadowClan cat at heart, he knew better. He knew that in order for the ways of the warrior code to survive was to band together. His faith in the code and in StarClan overpowered his stubbornness immediately, and he also knew that he had to force whatever willpower he had left into passing on the strength and resilience of a true warrior to the rest of the Remaining. As a strong, wise and capable cat, the Remaining were proud to follow him

Deputy: Sandstorm

Blackstar chose Sandstorm as his second in command due to her seniority and experience. However, since the Remaining are now considered a dysfunctional clan, she knows she probably won’t ever live to become leader, and Blackstar knows this as well. For the first few moons the two eldest cats spent countless nights in deep conversation, fretting about how to keep the way of the Clans alive, and who to pass it down to. Sandstorm, although devastated, knew that all of her lost loved ones were guiding her, and she accepted her destiny. As headstrong as ever, she pushed herself to take her final vow as the deputy of the Remaining.

“Primed” Deputy: Dawnpelt

Although Blackstar considered these new cats his own, he still believed in tradition of bloodline and with that being so, believed that Rowanclaw and Tawnypelt’s kit was the rightful heir to take on the leader position after he and Sandstorm pass. As third in command, and a observer to Sandstorm, the younger she-cat takes in all techniques from all four clans, learning new traditions as well as relearning older ones, as the most important goal of the Remaining is to sustain long enough to disband one day into four, healthy clans. By taking on this role, Dawnpelt will become the first successor. It is very important as well to note that she becomes pregnant with Crowfrost’s kits shortly before the Great Battle, and they soon become a new addition to the small clan. Their names - Sleekkit, Juniperkit, and Tawnykit.

MYO 10% Left WC AU

Alright, soooo, I decided to do this MYO by @10leftau since I have a lot of free time due to no school today. Not my normal posts since I don't post about Warrior Cats too often, so just ignore this if you could care less about WC lol

ThunderClan Survivors: Bumblestripe, Hazeltail, Daisy, Molepaw, Brightheart, Cloudtail

-I've decided to change canon up and say that Dovewing was pregnant during the battle. Her kits actually started coming early, and the only one who knew about the kits were Jayfeather- who also knew who the true father was. She managed to get Jayfeather when she felt her kits coming, and Jayfeather had two warriors, one RiverClan and one ThunderClan, guard them while she gave birth. She died due to birth complications, along with one of the kits. Jayfeather was wracked with grief, but he didn't have time to think as his guards were both slaughter by Dark Forest cats. He fought to his death defending those kits, who were later found by a survivor search patrol nearly starved to death.

-Bumblestripe and Tigerheart both took care of the kits as their own, uncertain who the true father was but deciding to give the kits the best life they could. One was a light brown tabby she-kit with yellow-amber eyes that Tigerheart named Beekit. Bumblestripe named the other kit, a dark gray tom-kit with blue eyes, Thrushkit. They named the dead kit they found with Dovewing's body Jaykit, after Jayfeather who died guarding her. As a family, the four of them are all very, very close.

-While Tigerheart remained mateless for the rest of his life, Bumblestripe ends up growing close to Hazeltail. Hazeltail was more stable than the other cats, having her mother, Daisy, and her nephew, Molepaw, still alive. She trains Molepaw, who eventually becomes her official apprentice. Bumblestripe admires her ability to keep going on, and eventually suggests she should be leader. It's a long process, but eventually everyone agrees, making her Hazelstar.

-She appoints Mallownose as deputy, as he's always quick to argue and quick to suspect. He's alert and attentive, which she thinks would be good to counter her own more calm and patient personality that she's adopted when dealing with the survivors.

-Willowshine is the only medicine cat left, but Brightheart does know have herbal knowledge. Brightheart, despite being devastated at the loss of the majority of her family, does still have Cloudtail, who encourages her to keep going. She becomes sort of a secondary medicine cat, and like everyone's mentor. Having learned how to continue on with serious, life-changing injuries, she teaches everyone how to deal with them and to keep trying.

-Hazelstar and Willowshine (who grow very close together, becoming good friends) both agree that they should revive an age-old tradition long forgotten by most of the surviving warriors after receiving a sign from StarClan. They decide that all apprentices should visit the Moonpool at least once during their apprenticeship or after they receive their warrior name. They do this to make sure no young cats stray towards the Dark Forest and to remind cats their ancestors are still there.

-Webfoot is the only elder left, but he seems to work twice as hard as everyone else being one of the least injured. He also makes sure that the apprentices, Molepaw and Larkpaw (who become very great friends, practically brothers, as the only apprentices), and the kits, Sparrowkit, Beekit and Thrushkit, are all entertained and happy. He grows very close to the apprentices, becoming a sort of father figure for them that they love dearly.

-Pinenose and Daisy grow close together as they stay permanent queens who not only look after the kits, but also the camp and the warriors as a whole. They help the medicine cats (Willowshine and Brightheart) out a majority of the time and spend a lot of time dedicated to making the camp look pretty and fashionable, just to boost morale.

-They decide to camp in the RiverClan camp, as that's the camp that was the least damaged. The WindClan cats end up sleeping outside the first few times, but end up adapting to sleeping inside dens. The ThunderClan cats have difficulty adapting to the thick undergrowth, but slowly learn to, as this is a time of adapting.

-At first, the cats hunt anywhere without borders, but they realize they need borders as rogues start encroaching on their territory. They chase them out, and decide to have at least one border patrol go out that covers most of RiverClan territory and some of ShadowClan and WindClan. The rogues end up staying within ThunderClan's camp. The clan cats and rogues agree that they can go into each other's territory only for herbs, with permission from leaders of course.

-One of the rogues join the clan cats, and get the name Spottail. She's a white she-cat with green eyes and black spots on her tail and legs. She ends up becoming mates with Beetlewhisker, a former Dark Forest trainee who feels somewhat outcasted and different like her.

-The clan decides to name themselves, uninspiringly, The Clan, as that's what they'd been calling themselves for so long. The rogues settle on being called The Rogues, as it doesn't really bother them.

-The cats do eventually find SkyClan, who is content to stay within the gorge until Darktail attacks. Then, they move to the lake territory. SkyClan stays together, and takes over a portion of ThunderClan's territory and WindClan's territory as The Rogues readjust to half of ThunderClans territory and ShadowClan's territory. SkyClan eventually renames themselves to The Sky. StarClan's name is eventually changed to The Stars.

-The three groups live in a surprisingly amount of harmony, most likely due to the fact that they're all survivors in a way. The Clan is what's left from the Great Battle, The Rogues have always been surviving, barely making it on their own, and The Sky had to live through Darktail.

-The Clan and The Sky adapt to a more loose clanlife, while The Rogues adapt to clanlife itself, some even taking on their naming system and their beliefs. They all agree to have gatherings on the island, and the medicine cats- after one is appointed in The Rogues- agree to have half-moon meetings at the Moonpool.

-When Darktail ends up finding the lake, he is disappointed to find that clanlife as he knew it has changed. He debates attempting to ruin what's left of it, but when The Sky realizes he's there, they kick him out pronto. That makes him upset, of course, so he begins to rally The Kin and make them stronger, growing his numbers, waiting for his day to strike The Clan, The Rogues and The Sky.

So Windclan and Riverclan almost got wiped out with only 9-11 survivors each. Thunderclan has the most survivors at 30, Blackstar believes this is because the three prophecy cats all came from Thunderclan. He resents Starclan for this and has turned his back on them blaming this for this. Shadowclan only has 16 survivors, however after this the 4 clans come together under Blackstar’s leadership. The new clan is called Eclipseclan, on honor of what Blackstar believes to be the greatest moment in his life. 

Biarlight is forced to take up roll of medicine cat, being the only one with herbal knowledge. Sorreltail and Ferncloud have taken up the job of raising the few kits that are left. Only nine of them are left and these two wish to make sure they are healthy and happy, later on become mates. Pouncepaw, Cherrypaw, Molepaw, and Stoatpaw become very close being the last four apprentices left. Cherrypaw was gravely wounded and only just barley survived.  Nightclouds sanity greatly dropped at the loss of her entire family, she even begins to miss Leafpool’s children wishing they were hers. She has become an extreme mother hen for the two remaining apprentices opting to train and care for both of them.

Bumblestripes, Biarlight, Blossomfall, Greystripe, and Millie and become extremely close at the loss of their friends and clan. Blossomfall spends all her time with Biarlight now. Helping her with whatever medicine cat duties that are needed. Becoming her unofficial apprentice. 

Begrudgingly Blackstar makes Dovewing deputy, he knows she was one the three cats. Thus it is with his best interest to let her lead after him. However other wise he treats the former Thunderclan cats very poorly. Very quickly though many of the cats agree that Blackstar is no longer fit to lead. These times are tough, the clan needs support and kindness. Blackstar only give bitterness, distrust, and hatred. Tawnypelt gives the killing blow to him, Granting Dovewing her leadership as Dovestar. Dovestar offers for Tawnypelt to become deputy however she denies this, saying it is not her place and she only wishes to rest as an elder. Ivypool ends up becoming deputy, the sisters come together once again finally working as a team. Eclipseclan gets re branded as Hopeclan. Dovestar wishes this new name will inspire hope and optimism for the clan. She welcomes kittypets, rouges, and loners to join if they wish. She becomes mates with Tigerheart AND Bumblestripe. 

By the time the nine kittens become apprentices Dovestar is pregnant with her first litter, the first new life to be born in this new clan. (This is Shadowkit, Lightkit, and Pouncekit only Pouncekit is named Hopekit.) 

Slowly the elder pass, their old age and these new hardships, plus lack of proper medical knowledge takes the biggest tole on them. However life moves on and Greystripe, Millie, and Cloudtail become elders in their stead. 

Stormtail and his mates and kits hear about what happen and opt to move into Hopeclan from the tribe in order to be there for their family. To help support them

Larkpaw is the only Windclan survivor. WindClan was ambushed in their own camp, and Larkpaw hid inside the apprentices den, hearing horrified while her clan was massacred. She only survived because part of the entrance collapsed, and the df cats assumed whoever was inside had been killed. She was found when a Thunderclan patrol came to check on the other remaining clans and is by far the most traumatized cat, she's become a selective mute and it's basically lethargic.

Firestar is the only leader that's left, but after losing his mate and both his daughters, and also most of his grandchildren, he has no energy left whatsoever and retires to become an elder and keep Graystripe company.

Spiderleg and Rosepetal have a strained relationship. While father and daughter, and the only ones left from their closest of kin, Rosepetal resents Spiderleg a lot, and he doesn't know how to talk to her.

Thunderclan takes Larkpaw in, and eventually Riverclan comes along since there's only four cats. Shadowclan tries to get by on their own with seven cats, but ultimately joins the other clans as well.

Who's the new leader you ask? Rosepetal baby! I just love the gal she's the best. And either Redwillow or Hollowflight would be chosen as deputy, first to show they're only one clan now and Thunderclan shouldn't occupy all main roles, and also because they both trained in the dark forest, and that would symbolize forgiveness and trust.

Pinenose, as the only queen left, would feed Amberkit and Perchkit, but she's frail and distant, fearing that by getting attached to the kits she would only get hurt again. Amberkit and Perchkit see themselves as littermates, while Dovewing becomes their main mother figure.

Stoatpaw would eventually get Larkpaw out of her grief and they would heal together, becoming sweet sweet mates by the time they get their warrior names (which is later than normal due to,,,well everything)

Jayfeather would be Amberkit's mentor later on, and she's the next medicine cat!

Hmm I have some other ideas but I really don't remember some of these cats so idk xD (pretty sure I would still make Ivypool and Hollowflight mates bc that's the tea)

The cats let WindClan choose the next leader, because they have the most survivors. Emberfoot, Sunstrike, Owlwhisker, and Harespring choose Dustpelt, while the others voted for different cats and lost. Duststar promises to be the best leader he can, in honor of Ferncloud and his kits. He chooses Ravenpaw as his deputy (he and Barley fought in the battle, Barley died). The two siblings are excited to be reunited, and Ravenpaw is allowed to choose his new warrior name. He chooses Ravenheart in honor of the leader who gave his life for everyone.

10% Left AU

Decided to try out @10leftau‘s MYO 10% Left AU and here were my results!

ThunderClan: Blossomfall, Graystripe, Thornclaw, Brackenfur, Hollyleaf, Foxleap, Ivypool, Snowkit, Jayfeather, Briarlight,

ShadowClan: Whitewater, Spikekit, Toadfoot, Crowfrost, Tawnypelt,

WindClan: Crowfeather

RiverClan: Mistystar, Minnowtail, Rushtail, Willowshine

I did 20 cats and Crowfeather was still the only one in WindClan who survived.

Crowfeather wanted to try and restart WindClan with him as Crowstar. He begrudgingly asked for assistance from ThunderClan, who had the most cats. Hollyleaf decided to go to try and make amends with Crowstar and Thornclaw and Brackenfur went with her since they were good organizers.

For ThunderClan it was a mutual vote that Graystripe should be leader, but he passed leadership onto Ivypool since he was already quite old. Ivystar made Foxleap her deputy anog with taking Snowkit under her wing and raising him. Jayfeather decided he would take Briarlight as his apprentice-of-sorts. He would train her but she wouldn’t be an official Medicine Cat. Blossomfall and Foxleap remained loyal warriors, and eventually both became mates with Ivystar (I COULDN’T DECIDE WHETHER I WANTED FOXIVY OR IVYBLOSSOM OKAY). Snowkit’s warrior name will be Snowheart after his mother Brightheart

Tawnypelt became the leader of ShadowClan and made Crowfrost her deputy. It’s a running joke in ShadowClan that Tawnystar can’t die or else they’ll have two Crowstars. When he became old enough, Spikekit was apprenticed to Toadfoot and his warrior name is still Spikefur,

Mistystar continues her immortality as leader of RiverClan, Minnowtail and Rushtail had kits out of the necessity to repopulate RiverClan but did not become official mates. Willowshine and Hollyleaf became friends once more and Hollyleaf actually began training as a medicine cat again.

This is just off the top of my head. If I actually thought it out and it wasn’t 2 am, I might come up with something a bit more cleaned up, but this is it for now!
