i had some friends reach out to me on instagram after i posted about ishka's weight loss and what a battle it has been, asking for advice regarding their own cats. i prefaced with the whole "defer to your vet" bit, then gave out tips that worked for me.

almost invariably, any advice was shot down. one friend told me she can't ignore her cat's food begging because "she literally sounds like she will break down the door" and i??????? a housecat is not breaking down anything. there are adult human beings who can't break down a door. yeah, it was annoying retraining Ishka and Jadzia not to bother me in the morning after i inadvertently taught them awake human = full dish, but i still did it. and it really only took a few weeks to get them fully back to normal.

people don't want to put any effort into training their animals. they just want to reward bad behavior and complain, as if it is some great mystery that feeding your cat every time it yowls has created a yowling problem.

Three hours to go.

I’d love to go to Target and get a sleep mask, but I don’t trust myself driving. Minus dozing for a bit around 2300, I haven’t slept in more than 24 hours. I should NOT be behind the wheel of a car, or making any decisions.

So I’m shopping online. lol

I told myself I’d write but my brain is nope. I might later, I might not. I don’t even have writer’s block, I’m in the middle of a fat juicy scene, I’m just…not doing it.

Added a sleep mask to cart.

Momo’s fine now. She’s sleeping. She had the dry heaves earlier, but got over that. She wolfed down her dinner and wanted more. She keeps sniffing and licking the floor where the chocolate was, like she doesn’t understand cause and effect or something. 🙄😂

Have I talked about how much I want my surgery to be done so I can get new clothes? I want to know my waist size and how boobly I’ll be. Right now, all I have are work uniforms, extremely casual (like rot at home) clothes, and clothes that I can’t wear because they’re too small or my sports bra shows. I don’t own jeans. I don’t have any dresses that are amenable to my sports bra. Speaking of sports bras, I only have three (3) that fit and I don’t know if they’ll continue to fit after the surgery.

Today I met an AKC sheltie boy who was 1.5yrs old and weighed 10lbs (4.5kg). He was SO small. He had the American-type of face and coat down perfectly, he was just. Minuscule. He was adorable but what on EARTH.

4.5kg is exactly one Spart! But if he was that weight on an American-type stature, I can't imagine what his height might be :') Congratulations on meeting the elusive actually ideal sheltie!

Making my husband pick up a watermelon and a cantaloupe from the local produce shop later too. I just didn't feel like attempting to carry that the whole way home.

Forever grateful for the older women at my work who have no qualms with pointing out that I've lost weight. Got comments on it two days in a row by two different coworkers 🥰

I still have like 45lbs i need to lose, but it's nice to know that even though I feel like my progress isn't that noticeable, other people can see the changes. I just have to keep going!
