It's insane how perfect the weather conditions in los angeles were/are for fires right now, like first there are the santa ana winds, which are very dry, causing a windstorm in la that was dangerous enough to uproot trees, then there's the fact that we've gotten basically no rain in months making the area very dry, and the fact that we're already prone to wildfires, and you have perfect conditions for huge wildfires.

The winds were so strong that for the first day or so air support was impossible, which severely hampered their ability to fight the fires, and due to the strength of the winds embers were able to travel very far and create spot fires making it harder to contain the fires.
