Just a psa for fic writers who use the “trauma bond” tag, please make sure you’re using it correctly. A trauma bond is not two people who experience similar trauma and bond over it. Faifa was chosen by his mother for all the wrong reasons, chosen because she knew she loved him less and he would want to see his family and then she left him but first gained the forgiveness of the sons she loved more, the ones she remembered, and Faifa sat between them as his heart shattered because the family that supposedly chose him was leaving entirely and hadn't even planned on saying goodbye.

And now he's feeling all these confusing things with Wine only he knows that Wine has a chance with his first love now and couldn't possibly choose him. He's trying to help him but he tries to help everyone and he wants to be chosen but he's also terrified of being chosen for the right reason, he's terrified of being chosen as a replacement again.

But Wine is on the other side never sure if he's special, never sure if Faifa truly cares more for him than others or if he would do this for anyone. Because it doesn't matter what he says but what he does and what he does is take care of everyone. So Wine wants to know that he's special before he sets his hopes and his heart on him. He's falling in love but he's afraid that Faifa cannot truly have one person he treats uniquely.

They meet together at the intersection of trauma and love and it's going to take them so much to overcome but they can, together.

Because Wine can take care of Faifa when no one else does and Faifa can help Wine face the problem he wants to run from and together they fill in all the holes that others have left on them.

Reasons why Faifa x Wine will be the BEST Blue Boy(friends) when they figure out they are dating:

They look at each other like this like it's perfectly normal.

Wine will make sure Faifa does not die from politeness. Full stop.

Wine will also make sure Faifa gets the things he wants even if Faifa tries to give them up for others.

Faifa will always give Wine an out because he never wants Wine to feel uncomfortable.

And Wine will openly appreciate it.

Faifa holds Wine's secrets close. Anytime he is asked a question about Wine, Faifa dances around the question.

That boy knows all the answers, yet says nothing, exactly like the BEST Blue Boy would.

Faifa always has his hands on Wine to comfort him.

Faifa walks in the bar, puts his hand on Wine's shoulder and slides it across his back as he walks to his seat. Smooth.

Then, when he takes him to the bathroom, he rubs his hand up and down his back to calm him down. Que sweet.

He also softly touches his hair in bed.

When Wine calls Faifa upset, Faifa says two important things: "Don't hang up until I see your face" when he answers the phone and "You're not hurt or in danger, are you?" when he sees Wine.

Faifa only needs to know that Wine is safe. Full stop.

They are honest, but stop if it makes the other one uncomfortable.

So because I can't allow myself to simply exist in this moment of happiness and bliss on a beautiful fictional sunny day filled with kisses and hope, I have to think of all the ways these perfectly normal things could also hurt them because they'll never ask something they think will make the other uncomfortable since they never want to make the other one uncomfortable, and Wine won't let Faifa do something he thinks will hurt Faifa, and Faifa will always give Wine an out no matter what, so what could go wrong with two of the BEST Blue Boys who only want the best for each other?
