🌯 burrito warrior
You did it!
After months of endless scrolling, awkward tours, and disappointments, you finally found the one—the perfect apartment!
No roommates? Check!
Near the bus stop, grocery stores, coffee shops? Check!
Near your school and work? Check!
Modern apartment with high-tech amenities? Well, not check.
The building’s slightly dated exterior gave away its age, but hey, it was well-maintained and had that cozy, lived-in charm. So,
Vibes? Check!
It’s your first night in your new apartment, surrounded by a sea of sealed boxes (except for a mattress you’d laid on the floor). You feel accomplished. The drive from your old place was a nightmare, and you’ve got exactly five boxes with you, mostly clothes, books, and some appliances. Everything else is apparently still “on its way”, thanks to online shopping apps! You’re so ready for this fresh start. New apartment, new life!
You’d even spotted your next-door neighbor earlier—a tall, cute guy with arm tattoos and a sharp jawline. An eye candy wouldn’t hurt. He didn’t seem to notice you as he checked his mail while walking to his door, and you were glad, given your limited social skills.
After a much-needed shower, you wrapped yourself in a towel and waited for your food delivery. Starving, tired, and ready to crash, you finally heard a knock at the door.
AAAhhh!!! My buritooo!!!
You had added a note to your order to leave the food by your door. When the knocking stopped, you sprinted to the door, too hungry to think straight.
You opened the door to grab the paper bag, but just as your fingers brushed the edge, your foot caught on the doorframe, and the next thing you knew, you were slipping. Your arms flailed, grasping for anything to steady yourself but it was too late. A loud thud, then your feet hit something heavy, followed by another crash.
Disoriented, you blinked and found yourself on the floor, head resting awkwardly against the door. Your towel clung to your damp body as you processed the scene: the potted plant that once stood proudly in the hallway was now on the ground, soil scattered everywhere—and somehow, all over you. You groaned in disbelief, covered in dirt, your towel the only thing that kept you from being fully exposed.
Shit. Fuck. Great.
You didn’t move, your eyes squeezed shut in disbelief. The floor was cold against your skin, and as you stayed perfectly still, wishing this wasn’t real, a door swung open.
Your next-door neighbor.
Tattoos, sweatpants, an oversized shirt, messy hair—and ogling at the crime scene with his round, shocked eyes.
"What’s going on? You okay?"
His voice was calm but obviously concerned, which, honestly, was fair considering the sight before him: soil everywhere, woman on the floor, clutching a towel and burritos, hair wet.
It’s like a storybook with no text—just look at the scene and you’ll get the plot.
“Oh, uh…” you gestured at the mess. “Yeah, fine. Just… gardening at midnight. It’s a thing I do.
He leaned against the doorframe, huffing. “Cool hobby. Very niche.”
You exhaled sharply.
"You need help? Didn’t break your spine or something? Here." He didn’t wait for a response, just offered his hand like it was the most casual thing in the world.
But you were too embarrassed to process any of it. You didn’t want help, didn’t want to exist, didn’t want to be perceived at all.
“Nope, I’m good. Just gonna lay here for a while.”
You wished you could just sink into the floor.
"Alright," he said, shrugging as if he’d offered you a hand, not a whole rescue mission. "If you say so. Holler if you need help, I’m right next door, as you can clearly see.”
He disappeared back into his apartment, leaving you on the floor with shame, dirt, and your burrito.
Never speaking to anyone here again? CHECK!
Once the coast was clear, you carefully got up, trying to shake the soil off your body, your towel clinging to you like it’s the only thing keeping you together. With a frustrated sigh, you reached for the door handle, but as your hand gripped it and you gave it a shake, you realized—it was locked.
You rattled it again, more forcefully this time, but no, it didn’t budge.
Locked out.
In a towel.
At midnight.
With a burrito in one hand.
“Fuck my life.”
🖕🏼fuck my life
"Fuck. Fuck. Fuck."
You paced the hallway, trying to come up with the best course of action.
Minutes later, your next-door neighbor’s door opened again.
“You still out here?” His voice was casual, and you saw him standing there, now in a gray pajama set, holding a water bottle, looking at you like you were the weirdest creature he’d ever seen.
You tried to play it cool. “Oh, just, uh… admiring the hallway. Great maintenance work here. Big fan of this paint job.”
He tilted his head, clearly amused. He narrowed his eyes, “You locked yourself out, didn’t you?”
You stared at him.
Yes, observant king. Just goooo…
You groaned. But you try to sound optimistic “Yes, I locked myself out. But it’s fine! I’ll just wait here for the landlord in the morning.”
He chuckled, scratching the back of his head as his eyes scanned you up and down. "At midnight? In a towel? Freezing?"
You gave him a pained smile, doing your best to hold it together despite the chill creeping through your towel.
Leaning against the doorframe, he gave you a look that said he was mildly bothered by your situation. "I’ll call the landlord, but knowing Mr. Kang, he’s probably gonna pick up in the morning." He paused, then added, “Wanna borrow some clothes or something? You’re gonna freeze out here."
Before you could respond, he vanished inside his apartment. A few moments later, he reappeared with a pair of gray sweatpants and a hoodie, phone pressed to his ear.
"He’s not answering, but I texted him. Hopefully, he’ll see it when he wakes up. They should be able to send someone as early as 6 am.”
As soon as you had the clothes in hand, you quickly threw on the hoodie. It was so big, it reached your knees, so you skipped the pants altogether. It smelled so good you wonder what laudry detergent he used. Meanwhile, he was still fiddling with his phone, his eyes focused on the screen.
“You have no one to call?” he asked, clearly trying to come up with a plan to help.
You didn’t have anyone to call. Your friends and family were either overseas, or hours away, but you didn’t want to get into that. So instead of answering him, you decided to with your genius idea and ask the question that had been floating in your mind.
“I haven’t asked for your name. I’m YN,” you said, offering an awkward smile.
“Jungkook,” he replied, his attention still on his phone.
“Jungkook,” you repeated, testing the name on your tongue. Then, with a serious face, you asked him, “Jungkook, would you be able to help me if I asked you to break my door down?”
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars
"Alright, let's do it," he said, cracking his knuckles.
Jungkook was game. No hesitation. When you casually suggested the idea of him breaking down your door, he didn’t even blink. Like he was waiting for you to say it.
He popped his phone into his pocket and strolled over to the door like he did this sort of thing on the regular.
You blinked. “Wait, really?”
“Yeah,” he replied, smirking like this was the most casual thing to do. "If you want the door broken, we’ll break the door. Let’s keep it quick, though. We don’t want to wake the neighbors.”
“Alright, door’s all yours,” you said, stepping aside and plopping down on the floor.
Jungkook was already squatting by the door, eyeing the lock with way too much focus. You, on the other hand, were sitting there, happily devouring your cold burrito.
He took a step back, raised his shoulder, and rammed into the door.
It only took one, or maybe two, solid hits before you heard the satisfying crack of the door frame giving way. The door literally flew open, and you casually took another bite of your burrito.
He stood there, hands on his hips, clearly proud of himself. "Easy peasy, lemon squeezy." He glanced at you, asking, “You good?”
You gave him a thumbs-up, chewing slowly. “Yeah, excellent work. Five stars. Thank you.”
With a grin, he answered you with a thumbs-up and said, "Welcome to the neighborhood," before heading back to his apartment.
You strolled into your now wide-open apartment, finishing off your burrito.
That night, you used some boxes to keep the door “locked.”
The next morning, you opened the door to find your landlord standing there with a toolbox. He blinked at the door, taking in the wreckage.
You shrugged. “Sorry. Had no choice. Next door helped me out.”
He scratched his head before getting to work on the lock. When he finished, he gave you a pointed look. “Just… try not to have any more emergencies with the door, okay?”
You smiled. “I’ll try my best.”
🎧thin walls
You started to settle into your new place. There were still a few pieces of furniture you hadn’t assembled yet, but it was starting to look homey and feel cozy. You adjusted to juggling school and work, finishing the classes you postponed last year to finally graduate.
But every time you remember your first night, you wince.
Almost naked, dirt all over you, lying on the floor like you’re auditioning for a disaster movie… like what the hell.
Embarrassing. Okay, fine, the burrito part was kinda fun, especially when he casually broke down the door…
You even reenacted the part where you were lying on the floor, just to see how ridiculous you looked.
The incident kept replaying in your head, and the more you thought about it, the worse it seemed.
You couldn’t shake how embarrassing it was.
You were thankful to Jungkook, sure. He basically saved you, like some kind of real-life Spider-Man, but why, instead of just thanking him like a normal person, are you avoiding him?
You’ve been dodging him for weeks now, and every time you even think about it, you feel like sinking with the floor.
And because you had been avoiding him, you became familiar with your next-door neighbor’s usual activities—what time he left for work, when he normally came home, whether he had visitors over…
Sometimes he’d have friends over. You assumed they were playing and/or drinking because of the cheers, banter, and sometimes you’d hear them wrestling (?), based on the violent slaps or panicked “ouch, ouch, I’m sorry, please put me down, Jungkookaaa!!!”
You knew he had the same friend group because you had already recognized them by their distinct laughs. There’s the windshield laugh, and then there’s the one with the high-pitched, sharp, hysterical laugh that’s always accompanied by clapping.
Thin walls.
They could be pretty loud, but they usually wrapped up before around 11 pm.
One night, when you had to wake up early for class the next day, you were kept awake by a girl’s high-pitched, giggly voice.
“Oh my god, Jungkook, stopppp,” she squealed, clearly not wanting him to stop at all.
Then came the sounds you really didn’t need to hear—the soft creak of a mattress, her breathy moans, and a muffled, “Fuck, you’re so good,” that made your stomach churn.
You groaned, stuffing a pillow over your head. “Fucking hell!”
This continued until dawn.
The next night, it happened again. Different girl, same obnoxious volume. This one was louder, theatrical, like she was auditioning for something.
“Jungkook!” she gasped, her voice echoing through the walls. “Right there, oh my god—”
You shoved your headphones in, blasted “Deep Layered Brown Noise,” and flipped a middle finger at the wall separating your rooms.
This kept happening for two weeks! TWO WEEKS!!! You were so done. Angry and ready to lash out, you thought, God, give me a break!!!
🍊tangerines
You were never the confrontational type. You were more of the passive-aggressive girlie... until you exploded.
So instead of confronting him, you carried on avoiding him. That was until you ran into him on the stairs, arms loaded with groceries in two paper bags.
“You need help?” he asked.
“Nope, I’ve got it,” you lied, seconds before one of the bags tore, and your tangerines scattered across the floor, some rolling down the staircase.
Jungkook sighed, shaking his head. “You good?”
“Totally. Love chasing fruit in public,” you deadpanned, scrambling to collect the scattered tangerines.
He helped anyway, gathering what he could into his hands. “Here.”
“Thanks,” you mumbled, avoiding his eyes. You spotted a few tangerines still rolling down the stairs but decided it was fine. You could survive being vitamin C deficient.
“You’re still getting used to this ‘living alone’ thing, huh?” he said, amused.
“Yeah, well, I’ll never get used to having loud neighbors,” you shot back, surprising even yourself.
He froze, just as surprised as you. After a moment of thought, he bit his bottom lip and turned to you. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know you could hear.”
“Well, now you know. Thin walls. Thin fucking walls,” you snapped, your weeks’ worth of irritation spilling over before you stormed off to your apartment.
A few minutes later, there was a knock at your door. You opened it to find Jungkook holding the remaining tangerines he’d picked up from the stairs.
You could tell he was about to say something—his mouth opened slightly—but you snatched the fruits, avoided his gaze, and quickly muttered, “Thanks,” before shutting the door.
📦 what's in the box?
You were just about to shut down from exhaustion as you reached your door after your late-night shift when you noticed a package sitting by your door.
A brown box.
Thinking it was just one of the things you’d ordered, you picked it up and fiddled with your keys to get inside.
But just as you held the knob, the door to your neighbor’s apartment opened. You panicked, your hand hastily sliding the keys in.
Oops. You'd already locked eyes with Jungkook.
He was standing there, grinning like a devil…
What’s he up to now?
In his hand is also a brown box, and based on the way it was crinkling at the top, it looked like it had already been opened, and you could see pink ruffles peeking through.
He strolled over to you, extending the box, and casually said, “There’s been a mix-up. This was delivered to me. I opened it thinking it was mine since I was expecting a package today, and it didn’t have a name on it, just the unit number. Sorry if I missed that.”
“Uh... okay?” you muttered, still not fully processing what was going on.
“I believe that is mine,” he smiled, casually gesturing to the box you were holding.
“Oh, okay,” you muttered, quickly swapping boxes with him. But the moment your fingers wrapped around your box and your eyes landed on the contents inside, your jaw dropped.
The entire box was full of pink toys—pink dildos, pink handcuffs, a penis-shaped headband, a pink gag, and… was that a penis-shaped stress ball? Who even invents this stuff? Genius! But oh my god.
You checked the box for any details, but nope—no name, just your unit number and address.
“It’s for my friend,” you blurted defensively, but your voice trailed off as the absurdity of explaining yourself hit you. Why are you explaining?
“Sure it is.”
You didn’t have to look at Jungkook to know his grin was now a full-on, teeth-baring smile. You could feel it.
Without saying another word, you quickly turned your back on him and hurriedly unlocked your door.
Once inside, you grabbed your phone, and angrily dialed the number for the suspect—
“Heyyy!” came the cheerful voice of Hwasa on the other end.
“Hwasa, I swear to God!” you started, feeling the panic rise in your chest. “Why did you send bridal party package to my new apartment?? We all agreed to send it to you!! Oh my God, my neighbor opened it, because our package got mixed up! He saw all those freakin dildos! Also, why didn’t they put a name on it?!”
“Girl, calm down! Why you panicking like this?” Hwasa said, her voice as chill as a cucumber. “First of all, I didn’t order it. It was Jen! Or was it Stace? Whatever! And it’s a discreet store, so they don’t slap your name on the box.”
“Make sure to fix this, okay?” you said, voice high-pitched with stress. “Send all orders to YOU from now on! I’m going to die of embarrassment here!”
“Oh my God, chill out! Why you so pressed about this neighbor seeing your fun box? What’s the deal, huh?” Hwasa teased, a mischievous grin in her voice. “Wait—hold up, is he cute? Is that why you’re shy shy?”
“I’ll tell you everything at the party, okay?” you huffed, trying to shake off the embarrassment. Then, you switched gears, like the best bridesmaids you are. “But seriously, we need to make sure Aera doesn’t suspect anything about her bridal shower, okay?”
🎯 mission: possible
Avoiding Jungkook became a serious mission. You had your reasons—perfectly rational reasons, mind you. It wasn’t like you were being dramatic or anything. It was just reason upon reason stacking up like a Jenga tower, each one reminding you why you needed to stay away from him and make sure nothing else added to the pile.
But humor me, you silently asked the universe: why did every encounter with him have to be either embarrassing or irritating?
Fortunately, you knew his schedule by now (thanks to the thin walls, but screw you still): he left just as you were getting up for school, and by the time you came home after work, it was late enough that he was probably already asleep.
No run-ins, no more awkward exchanges.
For three glorious weeks, your plan worked. You didn’t see him. Not once. It was bliss.
Lofi hip hop radio chill.
Jungkook-free, stress-free.
Perfect.
☕️ perfect!
It was one of those days that felt like it had lasted a year. Work was… well, work was always exhausting, your studies were an endless grind of beating deadlines and exams and lectures, and everything was going wrong. You got home, drained, and just wanted to curl up with a giant cup of coffee to prepare for your next round of studying.
But of course, your coffee maker had decided to just... stop working. Or something. And you had run out of instant coffee. Perfect.
You stood there, staring at it, willing it to work, until you finally snapped.
“Are you seriously kidding me?!” you screamed at the broken appliance, as though it would suddenly decide to come to life and apologize.
Frustrated, you suddenly craved some fresh air, so you grabbed your trash, decided to throw it out—along with the useless coffee maker—and unleashed your anger on the dumpster.
But frustration quickly morphed into full-blown rage, and for a moment, you felt like you wanted to fight someone. You were so angry that tears pricked at your eyes, as though crying was the only way to release it. But you wouldn’t.
So, instead, you kicked the garbage can. Only to hit your toes, causing you to squat in pain, while still hugging the coffee maker.
Now you were laughing, because the universe clearly hated you. Yes, definitely Mercury in retrograde. Nothing was fucking working!!!
And then, you heard footsteps approaching. You turned, and—of course—it was Jungkook.
Of all the days.
He gave you a concerned look. “You… okay?” he asked, tossing his trash into the large green bin.
“I’m fine. Just… you know, enjoying the ambiance. Haven’t really explored this part of the building.”
He stared at you, clearly not buying it. “Right. Well, if you need anything... I’m just next door.”
You gave him a tight smile and nodded, because, hey, if he didn’t see you having a full-on mental breakdown, it didn’t happen, right?
He didn’t see it, right?
🍬 easy fix
The next morning, you woke up with a headache, and an overwhelming sense of dread, bracing yourself for another long day. You got ready, but as you stepped out of your door, you froze.
There, sitting neatly beside it, was your coffee maker. Placed in a box, looking all shiny and clean.
And taped to it was a note, written in neat, handwritten scrawl: “It was an easy fix – JK.”
You blinked at it for a solid thirty seconds. What the hell?
You picked up the coffee maker and set it back where it belonged, plugged it in, and saw the ON button light up. You stood there, clutching your chest, staring at the note.
Jungkook had fixed your coffee maker. Just like that. He never had to, but he did. Out of the kindness of his heart?
This was... sweet? Too sweet?
And now, you were feeling things—things you weren't supposed to feel. Things like gratitude mixed with an embarrassing amount of attraction.
Listen... don’t judge, okay? If you’re a child who grew up with busy parents, barely seeing them, and left to tend to yourself, acts of service like this are dangerous.
Because they make you feel important. And loved. And other things you’d rather not name because it’s better that way.
But, you’re feeling things.
And it's making you uncomfortable.

kinda need some 80s slasher jj pleaseee!! like maybe he tries to apologize but like reader avoids him and that gets him mad!! thank you angel!
oooh! absolutely!! i literally love anything 80s you have no idea, i love talking about it!! (ignore the spelling mistakes, i'm exhausted lol)
₊ ⊹ warnings! 18+ - non con, cock warming, blood, death, violence, obsession, squirting, slight breeding kink, gun mentions, dark!jj - ₊˚⊹
"it's almost 1 in the morning jj, go away!" you whisper yell at him, lightly pushing his shoulder to get him to leave and climb back down your balcony.
"i tried to talk to you all day. you kept walkin' away from me…what's up with that?" he whisper yells back, not budging, he walks closer to the balcony window as if he's going to enter your room.
"i was about to go to sleep jj."
"nah, your light was on." he shakes his head.
"go away please!" you plead with him, hoping it is enough to just leave you alone.
"hey, you're not scared a'me? are you? cause, you don't need ta'be. i'm still the same jj."
"you killed someone!" you back away from him, placing your hand on the handle of the balcony door.
"well okay, but i apologized that day in the car and i've been trying to talk to you and apologize again, you were the one who kept avoiding me." he reasons, holding the door open with his hand.
"i accept your apology, now please go!" you whisper yell again.
"nah nah nah…you don't mean it, i need you to know that i fucked up n'i'm sorry."
"that you killed danny?"
"no, that you saw that i killed danny…look your my frie- no your my girl and i had to do somethin' cuz that asshole was just-" you put your hand up to get him to stop rambling "jj stop." but he just takes the opportunity to push past you and walk into your room.
"never saw your room before…y'like janet jackson?" he laughs softly and points to the poster on your wall and then looks over at the cassette tapes on your dresser. "…and madonna huh?"
"jayjay my parents are gonna freak if they wake up and find a boy in my room!" you grab onto his arm, trying to drag him back out.
"ya' got any dirty movies?" he diverts his attention over to your little tv on the other side of your dresser.
"seriously! beat it!" he sighs dramatically and lets you walk him back over to the balcony. "fine. see ya tomorrow then?"
"yes. yeah…you will, goodnight," you assure him, watching as he nods, satisfied with your answer he climbs back down the side of your house.
you tried you best to smile at him when you happened to cross paths or make eye contact but you just couldn't help avoiding him, i mean he did still totally freak you out. you had just about survived the day without having to talk to him but then on your way back to your house you see him leaning against his truck, parked on the side walk. you decide to just pretend you don't see him and walk right past him.
"hold it." he grabs onto your arm tightly, stopping you from walking away. "…listen, i don't know if i was a total dip for apologizing cause the whole point was t'get you to stop ignoring me, and clearly the message was not received. " he squints, obviously not very happy with you.
"i was just super busy and i had a major test to study for so thats wh-"
"no no hey, don't worry about it babydoll, i know how you can make it up t'me," he loosens his grip on your arm and gives you a charming smile, dimples showing and everything.
"o-ohkay…what did you have in mind?" you begin to relax at how his demeanor has changed, hopefully, you think.
"rented this gnarly tape n'i wanted to watch it with you. your folks home?"
"no…they don't back tonight till 3 in the morning…big dinner benefit thing, they usually get drunk and stay really late into the night…" you ramble.
"right. great. i'll drive you home."
"ohkay jayjay…thank you," you respond shyly as if you two had just met and he was asking you on a date.
"so which movie did you rent?"
"its a surprise, think you'll reaaaally like it."
"i like most movies…want anything from the kitchen? water, beer…"
"m'good, i just put the tape in, cuhmon, i'll be gentle with you." he sits down on your bed and pats his lap for you to come over and sit on. you nod slowly and sit right next to him, so he grabs your waist and scooches you over onto his lap, your ass right up against his gradually hardening bulge.
"jj…what are you doin'?" you take your eyes off the tv and look down at his hand coming to flip your skirt up and feel that you're not wearing any panties, giving him full permission to rub on your pussy.
"shshsh, just focus on the TV, princess." you ignore his actions like an idiot and figure at least he's being gentle with you and focus back on the TV, the camera in a POV angle following a guy with his hands up defensively.
"what are we watching?…" you whisper, trying to push jj's hand away from your pussy, but obviously that doesn't do anything. he smacks your hand away and goes right back to touching you.
"it's a movie i made…see there that's your ex-boyfriend, talked him into the role," he whispers back, clearly very interested in what's on the screen…and playing with your pussy. the next thing you know you watch as your ex-boyfriend gets shot in the face and then shot more times in the chest, blood going everywhere.
"ohmygod jay-!" you scream, shutting your eyes and covering your mouth with one hand, while the other tries to get his hand away from you so you can get the hell off of him. he ignores your attempt and tightly wraps his other arm around you to keep you in place.
"holyfuck you're so wet." he laughs, dipping two fingers into your embarrassingly wet cunt, the intrusion making you mewl and turn your head away from the screen and the gory mess being shown.
"nah uh, keep watching." he tuts, moving his hand away from your princess parts and over to his jeans to pull his dick out to put inside you.
"i don't want to watch this anymore! i don't wanna-"
"don't care whatcha don't wanna do, worked hard to do this for you babe…so you're gonna sit here on my cock and watch the fucking movie i made for you." he grunts, lifting you onto his dick, the stretch and fullness you feel is unreal, you have no choice but to sit there and soak his fat cock.
"no!" you cry, tears starting to gather at your waterline.
"yeah…she's likes it, she's squeezing me reaaaaal good baby. jj presses a wet kiss to your cheek and wraps his arms around you again to keep you there.
"turn it off, please! please!…"
"y'gonna quit ignorin me, cupcake?"
"uh huh…i swear just please!"
"it's almost over, keep watchin." but you just can't, squeezing your eyes shut you try to block out all the noise and just focus on not cumming on him, not wanting to give into him. yet, there's no use, cause now he's got his three fingers pressing down on your little clit, rubbing it fast and hard.
"jayjay!" you squeal, digging your nails into his arm that is around your waist, as you cum hard around his dick. when you blink your eyes open the tape has finished and you notice all the liquid sprayed on your sheets.
"oh ho…there she is, squirting on my cock like a dumb slut.” he smiles and presses a little kiss to your neck.
"not on birth control are you?" you can barely hear him over the ringing in your ears as he continues to softly rub your clit.
"yo, i'm talkin to you." he spits, slapping your cheek a few times with this big warm hand to get you to respond. a few more tears spill down your face and respond with a weak whisper. "no, m'not…m'not…"
"maybe y'should be." he grunts softly before dumping his huge warm load in you just from cock warming.

What makes a tlt au work for you? Do u have any favourites out there/that you’ve thought of?
its hard because it can go down to the writing! i have a huge bias for things that put focus on the characters acting awful and driving the story forward- if a story has a plot thats great, but its the difference between "gideon and harrow keep meeting up at parties and fall a little bit in love every time" and "gideons angry she lost her childhood to the cult so she attends a party with the tridentarii to shotgun adolescent experiences, and harrowhark, frustrated that gideon is pulling on her metaphorical leash, follows to stalk her". the former retains a 5+1 fic format and is more bite-size, while the latter puts more focus into their growth as characters. im not great at articulating what i like specifically, but ill put my favorite fics below:
what if nona was dogs tugs at my heart: its post-canon, slice-of-life, and has a unique concept (said in the title). i judged a book by its cover because i thought the premise seemed too silly at first but ive been made a fool and its pet clown. it feels so true to nona the way its about all the things nona loves and how she gets to explore the world through new eyes. i love the way it explores characters softening up and getting hurt through a third person pov
we have always lived in the apartment by @thatneoncrisis i keep saying this but for the love of GOD guys this au is so good it makes me cry and feel such a deep catharsis from it. it takes gideon and harrow and the ninth as a cult and explores their struggle to adapt to a modern society when noone ever gets a break (WOW ITS JUST LIKE IN REAL L-). quinn writes the sides of griddlehark i think go overlooked in fanfic often: their codependency, their tendency to lash out when theyre defensive, their mutual paranoia and different coping mechanisms, harrows psychosis and gideons bitterness, their relationships to each other as being the only other person who really understands what the other suffered through. god. i feel lightheaded.
"but SAM, i dont like angst but i want to see this writing!" read gap between a tragedy and a comedy
"SAM, i also like when gideon and harrow are horrible because theyre maladjusted teenagers! but i want more antics where the characters drive things forward over angst!" read whats eating gideon nav
you just aint receiving is one of my FAVORITE modern aus of all time (and i heavily recommend the authors other fics as well!) if you really want to see how much i love this fic the fact that my comments take up the entire phone screen probably says a lot. its hard to put it concisely: it keeps harrows air of misanthropy and cruelty but redefines it as the result of her upbringing and personal struggle to live in a university while dealing with a backpack of mental illness and frustration. it changes gideons personality as the daughter of john gaius in a way that makes sense having her grow up with johns middling parenting skills and getting everything she ever wanted (connecting it back to kirionas personality in ntn!). it brings in side characters (specially palamedes. my beautiful boy palamedes) in ways that compliment harrow and gideon but not so obviously that they only exist to be supports. they have their own lives and ideals. its a modern au that brings in the boiling politics of johns cult uprising once again in a really novel way
semi charmed kinda life by @griddlebait. jesuchristo and all his middle names this fic is GREAT for you if you want a slice of life, coming of age type modern au that explores what its like for gideon and harrow if they actually got the space to see who theyd become outside of the stifling fate tlt has for them. as far as modern aus go im usually very hesitant to read them because im afraid modernizing the characters takes features away from their core but i really love and respect the way the author treats the 69ers with care and draws distinct lines that shows me how their grow and change while keeping a line to the anchor. also they write HIDEOUS (complimentary) PINING. DISGUSTING. some of these chapters were so chock full of dyke drama that they made me nauseous and whimsical. i think once a friend said this fic felt like if gh could be reincarnated and i like that descriptor a lot
til the cows come home is another postcanon fic that made me feel sick and crybabyish about it- i would definitely recommend it if you want to explore a happier ending with griddlehark! with this and what if nona was dogs the thing i like most about them is that they mix up vulnerability with pain and fear, so it feels more lifelike that way if that makes sense. i lost my taste in fluff fics over time but when its interspersed with struggle and characters causing problems because they cant cope with themselves it feels much more earnest and raw
this became very long. im not sorry

I promise I’ll make Murder Drones art but let me get this out of my system
GUYS I AM READY TO MAKE THIS MOVIE MY WHOLE PERSONALITY
Going in I was a bit weary since I did in fact watch the original on broadway, and honestly, it didnt really click for me. Don’t get me wrong I LOVED the story and characters but I just never felt emerged, either due to the theater setting or its break-neck pacing. Luckily this movie works WAY better for me, and thats mostly due to them extending the runtime of act 1 to nearly double its length. We really get to breathe and be with these characters, and surprisingly I never once felt bored it was all so well made and paced.
The biggest concern I had though was that they were going to play down the charm of the original to make it “less broadway” and appeal to broader audiences. Mostly because I watched the new Mean Girls movie be so ashamed of being a musical that it got me worried for the whole genera. Luckily they didn’t they turned the campy charm up to 11, with full group choreography and some insanely creative set designs (Dancing Through Life). Like these are the EXACT VIBES I wanted from this movie.
One of my favorite parts of this movie is actually the production. Specifically the set design and filming, where they actual made almost all of the sets irl. They planted thousands of poppies just for the opening number, they actually made Munchkinland and Shiz, it’s all real. This movie also just looks great (ignoring some lighting) like the colors were POPING OFF the screen colorful especially in the beginning of “What is This Feeling” this movie is a visual treat. They really kept CGI to a minimum (obviously the animals but whatever) in order to pay homage to its theater roots. And it looks absolutely PHENOMINAL huge props to the team on that. Secondly they filmed the singing in direct, meaning no voice overs. And that weirdly didn't sound off at all the singing quality was amazing
that reminds me Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande were SO GOOD. They ate, they slayed, they Cooked, they every-other-gen-alpha-term-of-praise-I-can-think-of. Their casting just fits the roles so well with a 110% commitment coming from both of them. Cynthia’s Elpheba might actual be my favorite interpretation of the character I’ve seen. Also the part they added with the original actresses (Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth) interacting with the new ones was maybe the most fan-service thing in this whole movie and I was here for it I gasped in the theater along with my friends.
Like I can’t overstate enough how much I ENJOYED this movie (I guess an essay long Tumblr rant will do) theres just an infectious enthusiasm and passion radiating off the screen. It really feels like a movie made with love, like everyone making this wanted to make it.
I can’t recommend enough that you go watch it if your a fan of musicals or broadway you'll have a ball with this one. 9/10.

Part 4 of the reverse strawhats
Master post
Part 1
Part 1/2
Part 2
Part 3
Again I’m not here in the anime so this will be bare bones until I get here.
But obviously Ace and the crew start to chase after Blackbeard and his crew. They don’t have that much of a head start on them. They might be able to intercept him before he gets Luffy to the government.
Or at least they could have if they had any way to track Luffy.
Olivia makes the educated guess that Luffy would be taken to Impel Down once the government has him. But to intercept before hand would be quite difficult. So back to the gates of justice they go.
Or they try.
They make it to water 7 to stock up. It’s a quick stop. Get materials needed. It’s not like the whole city isn’t full of allies who have stormed the world government with them before.
It’s at this time that Ace gets the official news. Monkey D Luffy is in the hands of the world government and is slated for execution. Reiju assures him they will get him back. She’s not letting him lose his younger brother to. (Ace is to upset to catch her wording but Kuina is not, though she smart enough to table that conversation for later)
Nojiko, Iceburg, and Olivia are working to map out the best plan into Impel down. Hirikul and Kaya are making sure they have enough medical supplies. They know this is going to be a hard fight. After all it was only three years ago they fought the world government for Olivia.
They are all ready to do whatever it takes to get Luffy. When Kuma arrives.
When Kuma arrives and separates the crew.
Ace is suddenly somewhere new and alone and he has no idea how close or far he is from Luffy but he has to get there. He has to get to him now! But how?
Meanwhile.
Luffy is not doing great but also can’t shut up and is charming everyone around him. He’s an innocent kid. He’s got grand dreams but he hasn’t hurt anyone yet. He’s surrounded by hardened criminals, a lot of whom have met, fought, and lost to his brother. Yet they can’t help but feel for this kid who’s here because the government wants to punish him for crimes that aren’t even his.
And some of them are starting to wonder. Is he really here because his dad is Dragon the revolutionary. Or is he here because of that achingly familiar strawhat, and its connection to one of the emperors of the sea.

I'm gonna need to know more about the show those gifs are from. For research purposes,,, obviously 🤭
*rubs hands* certainly! i am glad to have an excuse to talk about one of the best shows that is sooo severely underrated. this got long, i'm sorry, and I barely scratched the surface.
the gifs in question are from a TV show called wynonna earp, it ran between 2016-2021 in canada and on syfy channel in the US, consists of 4 seasons, season 1 with 13 the rest with 12 episodes, and there's also a movie that came out in 2024 on tubi.
the show is based on comics, it's gothic western horror/action/thriller/suspense/comedy/drama monster-of-the-week type of show with an overarching arc and its own lore that keeps developing with each season. it's kind of like supernatural if it didn't hate women and was actually good. as someone who grew up with xena and charmed this show was exactly up my alley from the start.
the titular character is wynonna earp, who is a descendant of the legendary gunslinger wyatt earp, and she's destined to put down 77 revenant demons (outlaws that her ancestor killed with his magic gun peacemaker) in order to break the family curse, revenants are former humans that come back from hell as demons. this is just the starting point, it gets much better and more complex. wynonna is a loveable screw-up and a badass at the same time.
for lovers of old men and implied yaoi there's john henry holliday aka actual doc holliday from history and he's an immortal but also spent almost 150 years down a well as a result of an insane psycho-sexual love triangle between wyatt earp, himself and another guy (it's not explicit but it's basically what happened lmao, and they do 'jokingly' call him 'wyatt earp's boyfriend' at least once), he also happens to be wynonna's on again off again love interest but everyone is bi vibes and flirting on this show not including characters that are explicitly gay/queer.
there's a bunch of loveable main and recurring characters (honestly love everyone in this bar) but of course the main draw has always been the relationship between waverly earp (baby sister of wynonna and saying more about who she is would be spoilery) and officer and later sheriff nicole haught, known as wayhaught. they are basically the show's main romantic couple and they get the main couple treatment which was a first for me with a wlw couple. epic story and epic chemistry and it gets explored. they are basically known as horny monsters but also so in love that cupid himself commented on how in love they are. it's super refreshing to see two women who are allowed to be unabashedly horny for each other, the show doesn't shy away from that, and at the same time their relationship develops and grows deeper every season.
the thing is this show came on scene in 2016, at the height of the backlash to queerbaiting and the bury your gays trope in tv shows (2015-2016 season was particularly egregious with something like over 20 lesbian/bisexual women killed off across many different tv shows) and the fans were hurting and mistrustful, and the showrunner emily andras and the crew and everyone behind the show went 'no, we got you, we are not doing that', first they said that wayhaught will definitely happen without fear of spoiling their show (you have to understand the show barely started, it was like around second episode when nicole and waverly have their meet cute, one of the best ever, imo, and people watching the show, me including, were like 'aw they have such great chemistry, too bad it's not good to happen' and yet the showrunner told us that it will, right away).
and the second most important point is that they said outright that they will not kill off their lesbian/bisexual characters, so when nicole gets shot in S1 she is wearing a bullet proof west specifically as a response to other lesbian characters of other shows that weren't. this show embraced and welcomed a traumatised audience, the one that usually gets overlooked (remember how often shows that cater to queer women get cancelled) and was loved back dearly in return.
it will always have a special place in my heart and i wish it had 15 seasons to explore the lore and story they barely scratched the surface of. but even what we do have is wonderful and infinitely rewatchable, this is a rare show that loves its fans back and has no disdain for enthusiastic people who kept it on the air (there were campaigns too).
tl;dr: it's a great show that i highly recommend. one of my all time faves. found family, monster of the week, it's hilarious, it has heart and multiple queer characters. more people should watch it.
ps. if you have specific questions i'd be happy to answer it was just difficult to explain it all in one post and it got so long anyway.
#katya answers#wayhaught#wynonna earp#im sorry i couldn't NOT sing praises to the show#and surprisingly i did it without spoilers lmao#otp: as long as you want me i will be by your side#i don't know if i am giving all the correct details about everything that happened irl at the time#but i was watching the show since the first episode#even before i knew there would be canon wlw rep#and i was always on the edges of the femmeslash fandom so i tended to follow what happened in other shows#with wlw even if i didn't watch them#this is my love letter to the show#if anyone actually reads this you deserve a cookie#katya rambles

MCTober 2024 - Week 1
1. Introduce your MC
Loraine Hawks
House: Slytherin
Year: 7th
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/5a1781f2ba97b6a213984fdb63731193/1b33ed032fcf70d6-7d/s640x960/fc5d4e82d0b9eac825ab48a4c6d19398f2c9a2eb.jpg)

Loraine Hawks is my MC. She is 23 years old and is the new seventh year (to understand why read the opening notes of my fanfic). She lost her parents in a fire when she was just a child, so she barely remembers them.
When the fire happened she was taken to a mental hospital where she stayed until she was thirteen, where she was finally picked up by her aunt and uncle. Due to post-traumatic stress Loraine doesn't remember anything about the mental hospital she was in (I didn't mention any of this yet in the fanfic I will explain it better anyway). She lived with her aunt and uncle in a house on the outskirts of a small town in the south of Scotland where she was abused from the very beginning, she was also abused by her uncle's friends and her aunt never did anything about it.
A woman in the village taught her to read, write and educated her as much as possible. She also wanted to adopt her, but her uncle never allowed it. She tried to escape several times, but her uncle always managed to find her and the punishments got worse, so she finally gave up.
One day a silver-haired stranger came to the house claiming to be a professor at Hogwarts and that the Ministry had set its sights on her. The rest in my fanfic :)
2. Favorite subjects:
Due to her lack of education in magic, Loraine was so fascinated when she arrived at Hogwarts that she wanted to take as many extracurricular subjects as possible. She likes a lot of them, but if there are a few that stand out, they are:
Potions: She finds it a fascinating subject. Professor Sharp is a bit harsh, but he also praises students who put in the effort. She would love to become a great potioneer and help many people, but above all, her desire is to create a potion that slows down aging.
Magic Theory: Okay, the main reason she chose this subject was that Fig was the one who taught it, but it's also true that she found it to be a really useful and interesting subject. In addition, if an assignment is not delivered on time, Fig always leaves her extra time to deliver it later. It's his fault that she has so many extra 'assignments' anyway.
Care of Magical Creatures: Since she was a child, Loraine has always had a deep connection with animals, she can even understand them in some way, so of course this would be a perfect subject for her. Not even Professor Howin understands how Loraine, just by looking at the animal, can tell what it needs.
Charms: It is a magic in its purest form, of course Loraine loves it! Also Ronen is one of her favorite teachers, he always makes the most monotonous class a game and if she is ever late in turning in an essay (because of Fig) he always leaves her extra time to deliver it.
Ancient Studies, Art/Muggle Art, Music/Muggle Music, Study of Ancient Runes (she loves too many!)
3. Hated subjects:
Divination: Even though Professor Onai is an exceptional witch, Loraine finds Divination a really boring and confusing subject, what's so interesting about knowing the future?
History of Magic: Unlike Divination, Loraine finds the history of magic really interesting, but Professor Binns is simply… It's a losing battle not to fall asleep in his class.
4. Favorite teacher:
Obviously her favorite teacher is Fig. Not only is he an exceptional teacher and wizard, he is her mentor and the only person she fully trusts. He saved her life that day when he showed up at her aunt and uncle's house and since then he has won her trust and her heart. He is her role model and her only goal is to make him proud of her. Nothing else in the world matters to her. He is her universe.

5. School club:
Crossed Wands (current winner) She also does not have enough time to be able to belong to other clubs.
6. Hobbies:
Drawing: She always carries a notebook with her and loves to draw creatures she sees on her travels, landscapes, and flowers. She also has some sketches of Fig that she does when they take a break, but he doesn't know it!
Playing the piano: For some reason unknown to her, she can play the piano, but she does not know how to read sheet music.
Reading: If she has time, he likes to read mystery novels.
Creating new potions, helping wild creatures and caring for her own in The Room of Requirement, exploring, teasing professor Fig (yes, it's a hobby).

The people demand I be a hater and a lover... The people shall have their due.
6) A film you wish you hadn’t watched?
eXistenZ, by Cronenberg. Cost me 9€ at the local cinema. I feel like I overuse the term hacky but you can't watch that film without thinking you've been cheated of some valuable time. And like all Cronenberg movies it's around 1h30 but that felt like a million years. Still mad about paying for something I should've seen over the shoulder of a stoner cousin in the 2000s. Also I don't get why we all dunk on Tarantino's foot fetishism when this movie is thirteen times worse about it.
15) A film everyone loves but you hate?
The Menu. Deeply American. I did have fun watching it, I won't lie, and it's got some very, very interesting ideas (the most interesting the film got to me, I think, was the #metoo gender in high-end restaurants dish.) But then the solution is to ask for borger. The guy who loves fancy food can't even cook. The supreme dish is a s'mores. C'mon. C'mon. C'mon. Be serious for five seconds.
16) A film you love but everyone else hates?
A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan the 3rd. It has tailspin-madman era Charlie Sheen. It has Bill Murray playing Bill Murray getting a check to build a patio from showing up on set and reading the lines. It's about Charlie Sheen getting dumped by his younger girlfriend for being the type of egotistical and soulless middle-aged man Charlie Sheen can very easily portray without the cameras rolling. It has a "Cowboys and Indians" scene that would've read as "dated" in the 70s.
I think people are objectively correct in saying that this is, at the heart of it, a bad movie. Obviously the adjective Masturbatory was involved in many a review, and I like to think the average film critic had a field day on this one. Many a knuckle cracked before gleefully opening a word document. Today it's remembered as a weird curio in the history of A24 (their first film, and widely believed to have set back the company's eventual success by three or four years) and nothing else. I don't even think Charlie Sheen remembers being in this.
Yet... If every bad movie was as expressive visually and so serious about very immature emotions and immature characters, we'd be living in an utopia. I'm a sucker for surprise musical numbers 2/3rds into a movie, costume changes, skits, puppets, hyperbole, corniness, homages to bad movies, "quirky" sets and stilted dialogue. Roman Coppola is a hack and this was an omen of Megalopolis' own sincere hackiness/problem with women (with both movies featuring and sexualizing Aubrey Plaza!) Yet to me it remains oh so charming in its hackiness.
Perhaps this is due to the reality of french independent movies on the ground —30 films about sad women and men in their 40s and 50s directed by the same clique of mediocre french actors with horrible color grading set in upper middle class houses and with disturbingly solipsistic dialogue for 1 great movie not done by these people— or do to a personality defect of mine. But this hackiness and expansive style is what has made Roman a perfect fit for Wes Anderson, who shares his visual sensibilities and his taste for pastiche without being a hack in the slightest. In any case, people are right to hate this movie, and I wish every movie was a little more like it.

Pat's Shirts: An Extended Analysis
Since Bad Buddy's on the brain, I'd like to present an analysis of a show through a Pat's-shirts-centered critical lens.
Literature review: Many very smart people that I will try to link to have analyzed Bad Buddy through this lens already, but I would like to contribute to the discussion, specifically focusing on the iconography and text on the shirts. For great analysis that also incorporates colour, look to @dribs-and-drabbles whole series (x). Thesis statement: Pat's shirts convey his inner thoughts directly to the audience, generally going unnoticed by other characters, like a soliloquy. They provide insight into his emotional state and aspirations as they shift throughout the stages of his narrative arc.
Pran is more reserved about his feelings, and often expresses them through external signs such as the smiley face on his door. Pat can also be interpreted through the same lens, using external signifiers such as t-shirts to show what he is thinking. Pat is so expressive that he needs to literally wear his feelings on his sleeve (or chest).
In the first several episodes, there is a sense of optimism and possibility. In episode 1, Pat wears a shirt that reads "turn up the saturation" while talking with Pa in his old room. He looks over at Pran's house, Pran obviously on his mind. This showcases how things are just getting started. His feelings for Pran have been reignited after seeing him on campus. Pat wants to turn up the saturation in his life, make it more vivid, and already he's connecting that sentiment to Pran.
The feeling of hopefulness continues when Pat wears his Lucky (Charms) shirt. When their friends get into another fight, while Pat's wearing this shirt, his professor tells them they're lucky no one got seriously hurt, but there's more luck at play in this moment; they're lucky that they have found each other and are in each other's lives again. They have their first real conversation while they're patching themselves up, where they decide to work together to stop their friends from fighting and exchange chat IDs. Things are (slowly) starting to come together.
Pat next wears a Tim Hortons shirt from the Smile Cookie charity campaign. This is an interesting adaptation of Pran's signature motif, Pat mirroring the smiley faces that Pran surrounds himself with. Pat wears this shirt when they eat together at the food truck, so the food-related shirt is thematically relevant, especially one associated with sharing and giving. Pat and Pran share food (or more accurately, Pat steals Pran's wonton) but it’s a playful moment that they'll return to later in the show when Pran gets an extra wonton for Pat to steal. The shirt represents Pat's happiness at being close to Pran again, at being back in the game they play.
The optimism embodied in these shirts is also reflected in a shirt that Pat doesn't wear yet, but is instead hinted at. On top of Pat's pile of laundry is another smiley face shirt that he will wear five years later in the finale. Pat holds onto this shirt that represents Pran and his aesthetic, long before they start dating. The teasing of this shirt is the ultimate symbol of optimism, brimming with possibility.
We then move on to Pat's confusion and realization arc. The first shirt I'd like to discuss is the Salome shirt he wears at the photoshoot with Ink. There are two literary and artistic references here: Salome, the biblical story and its adaptations, and Picasso's painting of his close friend Jaime Sabartés.
Picasso painted many portraits of Sabartés, and dedicated many more to him, but this specific painting is from 1939, humorously portraying Sabartés as a sixteenth-century courtier. This might reflect Ink and Pat's relationship in this moment. Ink gives Pat this shirt, putting him into a costume like Picasso did with Sabartés, and there is an interesting juxtaposition between subject and artist at play.
Sabartés recalled about a previous painting, “When he put the painting up on the easel, I was astonished to see myself … the spectre of my solitude, seen from without.” About the 1939 painting, he wrote, "[it] has all the characteristics of my physiognomy, though only the most essential ones. If the way Picasso put them together does not coincide with the way the majority of people see them, this is because, thinking about me, he took them from his memory, with the intention of giving them form in a picture […] while people who look at me directly as I am forget me when they are trying to remember me." (x)
This is reminiscent of the way that Ink seems to knows Pat's feelings maybe more than he knows himself and her lack of surprise that Pat and Pran get along. From her perspective, they have always been friends. As artists, Ink and Picasso see their subjects in a different light. It is in direct relation to Ink that Pat comes to realize his feelings for Pran, by testing out Pa's patented technique. This whole situation discombobulates him, which is captured in Picasso's Cubist style.
The second aspect of the shirt is the biblical story of Salome. @dribs-and-drabbles (x) made the excellent connection between the femme fatale in this story to the faen fatale in Bad Buddy (Ink), although Bad Buddy explicitly subverts this trope. I also find it interesting that one of the most famous adaptations of Salome was written by Oscar Wilde, so some queer connection could be teased out. It is also worth noting that one of the themes of the play is the dangers of looking, especially since the shirt is worn during a photoshoot. Herod begs Salome to free him of his promise, apologizing for looking at her too much: "Neither at things, nor at people should one look. Only in mirrors should one look, for mirrors do but show us masks." Perhaps Pat can also be seen as wearing a mask, one he is not aware he is wearing all the time.
There seems to be little connecting Salome and Picasso that I could find, though both are playing with ideas of historical adaptation, from the biblical play to Sabartés in costume. Bad Buddy also toys themes of the past as Ink is introduced, casting new light both on Pat and Pran's historical relationship and their relationship now.
The next shirt is another one that is given to Pat. Pat borrows the friend/unfriend shirt from Pran when he sleeps over in Pran's room. They are figuring out how to relate to each other, and especially in this scene, how the other feels about Ink. Pat wears this shirt on a "date" with Ink at the food truck, another relationship that he is trying to determine how he feels. The friend/unfriend shirt reflects a pivotal question about Pat and Pran's relationship. They are not friends, but what does that make them instead? What is "unfriend", the negation of friend? Is it enemy? Is it lover? They both desperately need it to be something, to be in each other's lives in some way.
During and after his next "date" with Ink, Pat wears a black shirt with an abstract face on the front. This echoes the Cubist style of the Picasso shirt. However, in this design, the face is even more abstracted, configured with just a few white lines on a black background in unrealistic proportions. Just as the Picasso shirt implied Pat's burgeoning confusion, here he is slammed with the new revelation that he likes Pran as more than a friend. @dribs-and-drabbles pointed out the splash of red right over his heart, signifying his newly discovered feelings (x). This design is stark, impressionistic, boiled down to the bare essentials of a face and disassembled. Pat is taken apart and feeling lost knowing how much he wants Pran. The shirt speaks to the confusion Pat feels in this moment.
The next phase is about yearning and seeking connection. Pat knows how he feels about Pran; he has fallen, and fallen hard. Now that he has discovered this, he changes into the Baseball Mom shirt to tell Pran of his feelings on the rooftop. In this scene, Pat tells Pran he doesn't want them to just be friends, and through his shirt he tells Pran he sees a future with him. The shirt evokes a future of love and family (though not confined to the heteronormative idea of family). It is about closeness and partnership and possibilities.
During the flirt-off, Pat shows up to the Kwan and Riam audition with a blue shirt mostly covered by a burgundy button-up. The only clearly visible words are "YOUR / MAN?" This is a declaration, he wants to be with Pran. He's asking, can I be your man? as @dribs-and-drabbles writes (x). He's almost staking a claim on Pran, but subverts this by instead declaring himself to be Pran's, similar to when he cedes the competition to Pran.
Looking at the text more closely, however, a few words are visible. The shirt has a quote from On the Road by Jack Kerouac: "What's your road, man? - holyboy road, madman road, rainbow road, guppy road, any road. It's an anywhere road for anybody anyhow. Where body how?" Combining the full text and the selective framing visible on screen, Pat seems to be asking to go on this road together, wherever it may lead.
Once Pat and Pran start dating, Pat's shirts reflect the joys and tribulations of a newly established relationship. He wears the "Proud to be a [Noles] Hater" when practicing the play with Pran. Pride is written clearly on his chest, but it also hints to insecurities. Pat is being perhaps too proud for Pran, posting pictures on Instagram and flirting to openly. Moreover, this shirt is a reference to the sports rivalry between the University of Miami and Florida State University, and as the previous scene showed Pat playing rugby, the shirt signals the continuing rivalry between the architecture and engineering faculties. The theme of rivalry is also ever-present in their families' rivalry, which as @dribs-and-drabbles discusses (x), originated with university. This showcases that while Pat and Pran are happy together, there are external forces working against them.
After a tense argument with his father, Pat wears a white shirt with [SELECT] written on the front. In this scene, Pat is asking Pran to choose him—to select him. The framing of the text in square brackets is also reminiscent of a hyperlink or code, perhaps further emphasizing the act of clicking/selecting. He wants comfort from Pran but is unwilling to ask for it directly, to bother him with his problems. Pran hears the unspoken message and comes home to cheer Pat up, prioritizing him.
When Pat gets out of the hospital, Ming surprises them both by thanking Pran for helping Pat get his name cleared. During this scene, Pat wears his California shirt, which @karometeenk has deciphered. To summarize, it is a slogan for a German pharmacy that reads "Here I am human, here I shop" which is a play on the Faust quote which can be translated as "Here I am human, here I can / am allowed to be one" (full credit to @karometeenk for translation and analysis, along with @dribs-and-drabbles and @airenyah's discussion (x) (x) (x). There is something sinister underneath this message. This shirt alludes to Pat's desire to escape, to be free, but also signals the obstacles to this, especially as he wears this when talking to his dad, who seems to be behaving decently, but there will be future complications. The slogan appropriates a quote about one's humanity commodified to sell products, commercializing people's identity. While Pat and Pran are happy together, they cannot yet just be.
The theme of seemingly cheerful shirts with a sinister undertone continues later in the episode. Pat wears a shirt with the words "SUN SUN SUN", reflecting the happiness he feels to be with Pran, as well as directly mirroring Pran's "radiate positivity" rainbow shirt. Together they depict the sun emerging after a period of rain. However, the optimism conveyed by these shirts is undermined by the peril they find themselves in, the danger of getting caught in Pran's father's office and the looming revelations about their families' rivalry that could destroy their relationship. The storm is not yet over.
You may be wondering why I have skipped over a crucial subsection of Pat's wardrobe: his Hawaiian shirts. Fear not! I would like to discuss these shirts collectively, as they convey a similar theme that does not fall neatly into the chronology of the other shirts. They reflect an idea that the show keeps returning to every time Pat wears them. They stand outside of time.
These shirts symbolize hope and yearning, but they are often tainted by a feeling of despair and desperation. Dreams thwarted. These shirts are aspirational for Pat, conveying the sense of peace and freedom that he wants but cannot yet achieve. He often wears them in moments of crisis. In episode 5, Pat wears the blue pineapple shirt when he gets in the fight with Wai. He is seeking clarification about their relationship but winds up in a physical altercation and Pran leaves without giving him any answers.
He wears the Golden Gates Bridge shirt when he gets shot—this was a chance to reconcile their two friend groups, but it ends in disaster. However, in the end, that event literally builds bridges between them (I am including this shirt in this section though it may not be a Hawaiian shirt). The elephant shirt Pat dons in episode 11, as @dribs-and-drabbles has discussed (x), shows Pat wanting to forget, wanting to start anew on the beach with Pran without their families interfering, but the elephants belie this message as elephants never forget.
Pat wears a lot of Hawaiian shirts at the beach, both times. On the first beach trip, there is a feeling of opportunity, now that they have kissed. But at the same time, while Pat wants Pran to open up to him more, Pran is trying to protect himself. The beach symbolizes a chance at freedom, a chance to be open about their feelings. It makes sense that Pat would wear these shirts there. Except they are not confined to the beach, they traverse space and time.
I'd like to look specifically at the shirt Pat wears when he runs away. He is wearing it when his dad finds them together at the mall, and during the confrontation with both their parents. Here in the city it seems out of place, but it reflects Pat's desperation to love Pran freely, to escape the restrictions being placed on them. And then they do escape to freedom, to the beach where there is hope that they can be together, and Pat continues to wear the shirt. It depicts a dream that seems so close to being realized.
When they get back home, Pat is once again wearing the shirt he wore when they ran away. Nothing has really changed, despite their temporary escape, the same problems with their families persist. The repetition of the shirt brings this message home. But it also an interesting choice for both of them to wear the same shirts, it feels intentional. Like a disguise. They are going home, pretending that nothing has changed, that they broke up, but are keeping the truth hidden.
The shirt Pat wears in the finale is a callback to the first episode when we saw it in Pat's laundry basket. Pat has incorporated Pran's style into his own, reflecting smiles back at him. He wears it in front of his family, a hidden signal of their relationship. This shirt shows that the optimism of before paid off, that they can achieve the open-ended future they are fighting for. That there is hope.

Bits and Bobs, or the whole g-dabnit list of assorted fanfics by Yours Truly
Okay. Here goes.
A masterlist of all my fics? Here ya go!
Sorted by fandom, in alphabetical order. Whether it’s finished or a WiP will be pretty self-evident in the list, which will be updated as I go.
Baldur’s Gate (1)
A Promise Kept (13/13) also known as the BG3 fairytale mashup with Loki the TV series no one asked for.
A Lokius Fantasy Romance set in the BG3 universe, with all the fairytale tropes you can shake a stick at.
When Loki, youngest son of Odin Fraxinus of the Elder Tree, happens upon a charming former Paladin in Baldur’s Gate’s central market, his life is irrevocably changed. He hopes he’s finally found someone who’ll see him for who he truly is, and love him, body, mind and heart.
Unbeknownst to him, former Paladin Mobius not only has a troubled past, but an agenda of his own. Sent to spy on the Elder Trees’ host, Dyllard Portyr, for the tenday, Mobius is tasked to find out if he knows anything about Duke Ravengard’s disappearance. Or, if Odin does.
For, it is said, Odin once made a pact with a devil. A pact no one can discern the extent of, nor its ramifications in the present day.
But one thing is for certain: a promise kept is a promise fulfilled.
I’m posting this in a Series format on AO3, don’t ask me why.
Prologue (1/1)
Act 1: Love's Beginning (2/2)
Act 2: For Love or Duty (1/?)
Act 3: Love’s End (?/?)
Act 4: A Promise Fulfilled (?/?)
No, but literally. For every chapter I posted, it got fewer hits, likes and comments. It's now back as a multi-chaptered fic. Sigh.
Detroit: Become Human (26) (predominantly Hank/Connor RK800, but some Simon/Markus too)
Note: there’s 26 flippin’ fanfics in this category. I’m gonna add them over the weekend. In the meantime, click the fandom link to go to all of them. Below are a few of my own, personal favourites. If I can toot my own horn for a bit.
Metamorph (18/18) - my first ever DBH fic! HankCon, obviously. 137k, I kid you not. After a peaceful Android Revolution, Hank and Connor both try to navigate this new world they’re living in.
Silent Treatment (17/17) - in which the entire game plot is turned into a near-future sci-fi thriller. Go me!
The Knight and the Fool - fairytale mashup time! In which Hank is an old knight who goes to prove himself in a tourney, hoping to keep his farm running.
How to Create a Monster (10/10) - undercover high stakes, badass Connor, separate timelines and POVs.
Being Alive (19/19 ) - so I basically rewrote the whole HankCon third of the game, in a Reverse AU where Human!Cop Connor doesn’t smoke, is not a Gavin Reed knockoff, or “Hank” as played by Bryan Dechart instead of Clancy Brown.
Only You - A what-if spin and continuation on Being Alive, if that fic hadn’t had a happy ending.
Great Pretenders (1/1) - undercover shenanigans meet fake dating/fake relationship! Two of my fave tropes combined!
The Witch and the Werewolf - my prompt fill for a Halloween event. What it says on the tin, really. HankCon reimagined as a historical thriller with Sleepy Hollow vibes. And magic.
Spa Day (5/5) - Porn with Feels, in which Connor lovingly doms the heck outta Hank.
Loki (TV) (7-ish) (Loki/Mobius M. Mobius)
50 Years (1/1)
Between an ancient deity and an analyst with a heart of gold, 50 years isn’t nearly enough. It’s nothing. But it’s also more than long enough. And Loki has an idea for their fiftieth anniversary as lovers.
A Promise Kept - (a fairytale in four acts) A Lokius Fantasy Romance set in the BG3 universe, with all the fairytale tropes you can shake a stick at.
Loose Ends (6/?)
After the events of Tapestry of Time, Loki has his mind set on going back to Asgard. On his timeline, his branch, to either face the consequences of his actions, or discern Odin's role in everything that led up to his encounter with the Chitauri, and the assault on Manhattan.
Sledgehammer (2/2)
When an anonymous user sends an amateur porn clip to Loki’s TemPad, he doesn’t know what to think. Who sent it to him? Why? But he’s charmed by the easy swagger of a young Don leading the way into his bedroom, drawn in by his confident, laidback sex appeal.
But the longer he watches, the more difficult it is to stop. And once he’s watched the contents of the sex tape, there’s no turning back.
Question is how to keep going forward without inadvertently ruining his friendship with Mobius.
Tapestry of Time (10/10)
After the season finale, the TVA gang is left in a state of shock. None moreso than Mobius, who finds a note tucked into his breast pocket.
It says "I love you. Forgive me."
It changes everything, and sends Mobius on a quest to get Loki back, without dishonoring his sacrifice.
Turns out that's easier said than done.
Variations on the Theme of Us (2/?) - set in the same ‘universe’ as Sledgehammer, but after the events of that fic.
When Loki wants to do something nice for Mobius whether or not they have an actual anniversary coming up, he sneaks off to the Sacred Timeline on a whim.
Unbeknownst to him, the adult toy store he walks into is manned by none other than the Don of his combined wet dreams and nightmares. And Don? Spells all kinds of trouble.
Void (1/1)
Post-S2 finale, Mobius hacks his TemPad to recreate one of his own memories, and uses the time loop chamber thingie to relive it. Over. And over. And over again.
Person of Interest (1) (Reese/Finch)
How Not to Say I Love You (1/1)
When Reese and Finch go undercover to help a Number at a couples therapy weekend retreat, not everything is as it seems, and John has to navigate his own emotions while posing as someone whose situation hits too close to home.

Gideon Souls, Chapter 5
Oh, what a busy day. I clawed my way out Sen's Fortress and then missed the shortcut (this is, unfortunately, relevant later). @amethystasari tried so hard to direct me to the cruelly hidden bonfire while I ran around screaming because of the bombs. I eventually found it, and then we disagreed on the fate of the giant throwing bombs
But I am the one with the controller, so now he is dead. Which left the other chump behind the boss door. If I hadn't fallen off the roof, this would have been an extremely easy one shot. I think the only way to actually get hit by the Iron Golem is to accidentally go and stand where you were five minutes ago when his attack animation started. And so:
Off we go to Anor Londo.
It is really quite pretty up here, even if the public transport links leave a lot to be desired.
I spent a lot of time wandering the rooftops and smacking knights, until I wound up in a great big room with a great big portrait, which I stupidly looked at while @amethystasari was getting a drink and by the time she got back I had rested at a bonfire instead of homeward boneo'ing out of there.
This place turned out to be a pretty great soul farm for my level, and I spent a long time boring poor @amethystasari by running back and forth through a gauntlet of hollows and levelling up a bunch. Unlocking the shortcut didn't stop me either because the phalanx guys are a guaranteed 7000 souls with no effort or risk. I also went human again because I always want to fight every invader, though King Jeremiah - stupid hat aside - was a little disappointing.
Then I encountered Miyazaki's foot fetish Crossbreed Priscilla who, charmingly, did not want to fight me.
I had binoculars this entire time, turns out
I'm very happy I didn't have to fight someone, but I do have one bone to pick.
"This land is peaceful, its inhabitants kind." Are they bobbins, Prisci, everyone here has tried to poison me or shoot me full of arrows. It sucks here, and you're welcome to it.
Off we pop. It's not quite an iron railing, but it'll do. Also I extremely appreciate the hilarious use of cartoon jump scare sounds at the start and end of this area. Very funny, no notes.
The run back through the painting guardians with 30,000 souls and 1 estus was somewhat tense, but it did let me level up to SL 69, which Gideon would definitely appreciate.
Then there was more exploring, and the sun was praised when I ran into Solaire again!
Like most, he's having a much nicer time here than me. At this point, @amethystasari had to go, leaving me to wander Anor Londo for a while alone. I rescued my onion friend from some silver knights, doing the work of five bodies (his words) and earning a completely useless ring. Thanks bud.
I eventually found my way to the boss door, which I ignored because I didn't have my audience/lucky charm, and instead wandered around more rooftops until I found my new favourite guy.
He didn't want to pose for the photo.
He's nice, obviously, but the reason I really like him is because he sells twinkling titanite, and I have a black knight great sword that's itching to level up. Farm time.
Unfortunately, this is where I fucked up big time. I wanted to test my new killing machine (+5!), and there were still two titanite demons on the ground floor of Sen's fortress who owed me their deaths. So I went back there. And I forgot to open the shortcut. I did kill those demons (and the one in Anor Londo too), which is great. Until I realised I would then have to go through Sen's Fortress again. Fuck.
Instead, I wandered back to Firelink and had a good nose around there. Siegward was there, and told me he was off to the catacombs next, which is an area I haven't even heard of before. I wandered down a bit further to the ruins of New Londo, where I ran into the Crestfallen Knight again, only he'd gone Hollow and I bashed him to death. I do not feel bad. I used this to get to the Valley of Drakes, which was rubbish, and killed the mini-boss for some stuff I won't use, which was also rubbish. Eventually I accepted my fate, and went back to Sen's Fortress.
It took me another two hours.
Tomorrow, Ornstein and Smough.
Oh no.

mick schumacher is interviewed ahead of qualifying, azerbaijan - april 28, 2023 (transcription below the cut)
Interviewer 1: "But Mick, welcome. Thanks for joining us. How are you doing?"
Mick: "I'm alright. How're you?"
Interviewer 1: "Yeah, very well, thank you."
Mick: "Awesome."
Interviewer: "We are all excited about this qualifying session that is to come. Do get in touch out there, as well, wherever you are watching, hashtag F1 live. We'll start with Mercedes Mick. That is where you are at the moment. James Allison coming in as Tech Director, coming back to that position; what impact are you expecting that to have?" Mick: "Well hopefully, yeah, a positive one. Obviously James has been part of the team for quite a while and has had some success here, so it's great to have him back." Interviewer 1: "It is, indeed." Interviewer 2: "Mick, you're properly embedded in the team at the minute and there was a real turnaround in form for Mercedes in Australia. Did you really feel that, and did it feel like, inside the team, you turned a corner?" Mick: "Well, I mean, it definitely was a very strong weekend for us and it's good to see that, and we'll have to wait and see how this one pans out but, yeah, hopefully we're on an upwards trend." Interviewer 3: "It's a very different weekend format this weekend, for all the drivers. Massive pressure on everybody; just one hour of practice and then straight into qualifying. You're a Formula 2 champion. We've got a couple of rookies in the field this year who are used to that similar kind of format in Formula 2: one practice straight into quali. Do you think this will suit the rookies?" Mick: "Well, I mean, yes and no. For me, it wasn't long, but I really appreciated the two extra free practices. On the other hand, I think it's a pretty cool format. You know, having two qualifying sessions, it's a lot of action, and yeah, I think that the sprint qualifying, a lot of people will go nuts out there, so we'll find out how it'll be tomorrow." Interviewer 1: "Mick, this track, the characteristics of it are so different. There's almost three distinct sections. It's almost impossible to nail a setup, isn't it, for it? How do you get the best out of the car around here?" Mick: "Well, I guess you have to sort your priorities; what is it that you wanna target? Is it the race, is it the qualifying, is it straights, is it corners, and I think every team will choose something different there and will play on their strength, and hopefully, yeah, we have played on ours." Interviewer 1: "One hour earlier on, but it was heavily interrupted and very limited data will be taken from that. We knew it would be limited anyway, and it's limited even still after the red flag, the yellow flags. What's the feeling in Mercedes, coming into qualifying?" Mick: "I think everybody's quite calm. Everybody's quite, well, concentrated on what they have to do, and I think everybody's, yeah, just excited to get going now." Interviewer 1: "And how much are you enjoying being part of Mercedes, as well? As Lawrence said, fully entrenched within this team. How much are you learning and getting from this and, indeed, feeding back, as well?" Mick: "Yeah, no, it's great, obviously. I'm able to join every meeting and it's been super helpful already. Obviously I want to be racing and driving-that's my aim and that's my goal-but I feel like it's definitely an add-on for me to be here to learn from the best, at the end." Interviewer 1: "Mercedes one of all teams, I think, bringing upgrades here. How does the upgrades, how does this car, suit the track here? As we said, it's kind of difficult to even nail a setup for one part of the track. It changes so much. That's part of its charm, I suppose, around here." Mick: "Yeah. I guess that, you know, it will really, hopefully, shine in the longer races and in the longer sessions. But yeah, it's hard to say, after one hour. The track obviously not cleaned up yet, so yeah, everything is going okay so far and we're just gonna try and understand it further." Interviewer 1: "We had cloud, mist, cooler temperatures this morning. It's now getting a lot hotter as the sun has burned some of that mist away. We're seeing a lot of wind. Of course, it is the city of winds. It's no surprise here in Baku. How does that effect things out on track; the wind and, certainly, the rising and cooling temperatures, as well?" Mick: "Yeah, well, it can catch out people and it can catch out drivers, so yeah, hopefully everybody will be able to get around all the corners just fine and nail the laps, and hopefully our drivers will be able to do that the best."

So. Dawntrail.
I finished the 7.0 MSQ roughly a week ago, during the early access period, and overall I had a great time with it! My thoughts on the expansion as a whole have been marinating in the brain pot since then, and I wanted to touch on some of those thoughts and why I think this has been such a great expansion so far, at least story-wise. All under a cut for spoilers, and I’ll honestly be talking mostly vaguely about plot stuff anyway. And I’ll mark anything specific that is spoilers, and dividing things zone by zone.
Anyway.
First and foremost, since I feel like this will help put my overall opinion into perspective, is my ranking of expansions so far.
1: SHB will forever be king to me in a ton of ways; part of it is this was the expansion I started with, but I also just love the story it tells so much and even if I have little gripes, they’re all so minor that it doesn’t really matter
2: a tie between HW and EW, actually--both are excellent, and while I have some issues with parts of them, the positives for the most part outweigh my issues
3: another tie between STB and ARR--I think both of these are good, but have some issues that really can’t be ignored. And they’re only at the bottom because that’s how lists work.
DT is not perfect in my eyes (not by a long shot), but it is giving SHB a true run for its money in terms of how much I liked it. Like I said initially, I don’t think it’s without its problems (no expansion is, even SHB no matter how much I love it), but overall there is just SO much good stuff here that I am 100% willing to forgive it.
Before I get into the details, I want to say: making it clear from the pre-order stuff and Viper and all that this is the FF9 expansion really is important. FF9 begins fairly bright and cheery and its aesthetic lends itself well to hiding what subject matter it tackles, but then it eventually starts dealing with a LOT of heavy topics--and Dawntrail is very much living up to that in my book.
Expansion Start
Going into this expansion I really had no idea what to expect. I admit that the 6.X patch cycle really threw me for a loop once DT was announced, and it felt kind of pointless to be doing so much with the void? I was like, “Why are we spending so much time on this, when we should be looking at things that are relevant to Dawntrail??” because none of it made sense to me.
One of the issues I had with STB for a long time was Lyse. Don’t worry, I’ve come around on her, but it took a while. The biggest issue I had was that the devs tried to take an existing character and turn her into something other than what we knew, and it threw me entirely. I think they learned the lesson from that, which is why the focus is on Wuk Lamat, a new character, and on Krile, an older character we know so that we feel more invested in what is to come.
Another aspect of STB that kind of threw me off was…how little focus it got after the HW story ended? Like we get two patches worth fo story to lead into it, and I 100% think the Ga Bu stuff is important, and obviously the Warriors of Darkness story is important to set up part of SHB, but…everything to set up STB felt…not there? And we meet Lyse properly during 3.55/3.56, just like Wuk Lamat. We don’t have time to get to know her as this new person before we’re dropped into STB proper. And that didn’t help me when it came to bonding with Lyse--it took until the Lakshmi trial before I realized how I was supposed to feel about her my second time playing through Stormblood.
Wuk Lamat won me over really fast, thankfully--she has a certain kind of charm to her that endeared me to her pretty quickly (she’s very Sora from Kingdom Hearts coded in my eyes), and I was quietly interested to see what would happen with her character arc going forward. To be frank, I was more excited about how much better my character looked in game than in the updated benchmark than what little of the story we knew! I also was more invested in Krile than anything else story-wise; she’s always been a low key fave of the Scions for me so it’s nice to see her be much more involved in MSQ this time around.
But then we hit the first city and actually got into the story. Tulliyollal is such a lovely city, and its inn room was the first to make me go “wow” since the Pendants (since the Baldesion Annex was fun but still feels way too cluttered for me). I loved meeting Gulool Ja Ja, and his vibe as a character was excellent. I was surprised by what the rite of succession was shaping up to be, but once you see the Saga monuments and hear the story behind them it pretty quickly clicks as to what the Dawnservant wants the claimants to the throne to learn about during the rite. That was when I rsaw the mentor-type role my character would play, and once I knew what role the WOL plays for Wuk Lamat and in at least the start of Dawntrail’s story, I was in. I was determined to embrace that role in a way I had issues doing when I played through STB initially for Lyse.
One other thing: I was super surprised by Zoraal Ja being the one Wuk Lamat was prioritizing as a threat, and that he was the one who couldn’t be allowed to be Dawnservant. I guess I’d been anticipating the aloof/stern but decent older brother from him based on what I assumed was one of his lines in the launch trailer, so that was a fun surprise.
Zones 1 and 2, first visit
Urqopacha absolutely blows Kozama’uka out of the water for me, but I think both zones do a pretty good job with their first of two feats.
I started with Kozama’uka. The HanuHanu felt straightforward enough, and their feat set Koana up really nicely for what exactly his views are. I was glad to hear that he and Wuk Lamat were on friendly terms right before we left Tulliyollal to start the rite. One of my first thoughts when seeing how he and Wuk Lamat both handled the feat was, “He’s not going to win the rite, but I want him to either be advisor to his sister or for her to invite him to rule together.”
Bakool Ja Ja was fine as the zone’s antagonist, the writers did a good job of setting up his rivalry with Wuk Lamat in the intro so I wasn’t surprised by him trying to cheat his way through things. Wuk Evu was also…um. Not my favorite. I wasn’t super into the “behead me for being rude to the Third Promise” joke being reused over and over and over again…but maybe that’s just me.
As I said, Urqopacha was by far my favorite intro zone for the views, the music, and the overall aetshetic. I really love FF10, so getting to spend so much time with the Pelupelu was excellent. I also loved the zone music and this part really was what got me hooked on this expansion. Working with Mablu to make trades for the saddle was such a great showcase of what exactly the player character is to Wuk Lamat, and really solidified how much I enjoyed her. She is SUCH an orange cat (meaning she is “no thoughts, head empty” in a lot of ways but also just impulsive and can be unpredictable) and I mean that in a very kind way.
This was also where we got to see so much more of what Zoraal Ja’s whole deal was, and once I spent more time hearing him speak I totally understood why Wuk Lamat didn’t want him to be Dawnservant. Also, Mablu is the best and my roommate/best friend who is the biggest FF10/FF10-2 fan I know cried when she saw Tobli (since he’s from 10-2 himself) and the music is so good. So yeah, 10/10 zone.
Zones 1 and 2, second visit, and First Trial
Jumping ahead a teeny bit (since you go back to the capital between these visits). I liked this second set of feats overall! It felt like we were finally making some good progress with Krile’s goals to find out more about the city of gold in addition to moving forward with the rite. I also liked jumping right back into zones we’d already seen instead of waiting for 5+ levels to go back.
I liked how the Moblin feat incorporated the Elezen goldsmith from the boat, and seeing once again just how charismatic and magnetic a personality Wuk Lamat is. Her ability to show so much empathy for people is absolutely her biggest strength, and her desire to understand things--something those helping her with the rite have helped her discover--really start to shine, at least for me. That’s what makes her such a great fit for Dawnservant.
Koana also really was a star in this zone, and I really adore his character archetype and the love he so clearly has for his sister. Working together to rescue Wuk Lamat after Bakool Ja Ja snatches her was a nice change of pace from what we’d had so far from the rite, and that was when my initial impression of what would happen with Koana gained a bit more strength behind it. I was about 90% certain at this point that he wouldn’t win, but would stay at Wuk Lamat’s side to help guide her when she needed it.
I LOVED seeing the Yok Huy and honestly just getting to go back to Urqopacha was a delight. It felt like SO much progress was being made for both the rite and Krile’s goals, and the dungeon was excellent. No notes.
As a quick aside, though, I loved that we got to hear the Yok Huy’s take on death--that those who have died will always live in our memory, and so long as that memory remains, they are not truly gone. I loved this because it fits so well with the lore I have for Rowan regarding the way the Echo manifests for him, and how he cherishes the memories of people he’s lost but has come to move on with his own life. It just…is a very good thing to nail home some of FF14’s broader conversations about remembering and honoring the past, but still turning your focus to the future.
I have gripes with the Valigarmanda trial (I wiped twice on Duty Support :( ) but I appreciated that Wuk Lamat, Koana, and Zoraal Ja ALL came together for the good of their nation. I also liked that Zoraal Ja was cooperating because people dying because Valigarmanda would be bad for his own goals in the end if he won the rite, and also it’s good to see more of him before Things Happen (™).
Zone 3
Basically from here on out I loved every zone.
As a person who loves food and specifically enjoys making food for others, the feat in Iq Braax was a delight. Given that we find out the clan’s leader is Wuk Lamat’s father, it is VERY fitting that the people of the village are much more on the nose about not directly helping the team-up between Wuk Lamat and Koana. In addition, the cooperation between the Second and Third Promises was very clearly there to show 1. how well they work together and 2. what it is that Koana still has to learn, which he very much does by the end of the zone.
I’ve seen in the Disc Horse (™) around DT that Bakool Ja Ja turn in the second half of the zone was weird, but I don’t think it was, not really. By the end of the instanced duty after the X’braal feat, he’s a humiliated mess. Seeing the added context for why the Mamool Ja are the way that they are in the second half of the zone and learning the true cost of the blessed siblings among them, you actually have a reason to offer empathy to a person whose whole life has probably not been great. Wuk Lamat putting aside her anger with Bakool Ja Ja to truly help his people is yet more proof of the things that truly make her a good leader and why she really is the best choice to be Gulool Ja Ja’s heir.
The end of Koana’s arc here is excellent. Wuk Lamat reaching out to him when she needs help finding a way for the Mamool Ja to find ways to thrive outside of the blessed siblings--knowing that he can succeed in an area that is not her forte--is yet MORE proof of her ability to see the best in others and understand their worth. And Koana is genuinely a great brother and partner to work with for her, as his generally calm demeanor evens out her boisterousness very well. The instanced fight against the shade of their father where both groups come together was EXCELLENT.
The end of the Skydeep Cenote and actually finding the city of gold is such a good way to close out the first half of the expansion. We’re left on more intrigue for what is to come in the second half of the expansion, and this was when I got the deep sense of “Okay. But when is the other shoe gonna drop”.
Midpoint, and thoughts on the first half of the expansion
I was so happy with Wuk Lamat’s coronation, and how she outright asked Koana to join her on the throne. Finding a way to truly be their father’s successors by embodying both reason and resolve works out so well in Tural’s favor in the end.
I think the only somewhat negative thing I can say here is that…I was totally thrown by the song that played when the stone monument was revealed, haha. The song is fine on its own, but it was SO weird for me to hear that it did actually kinda take me out of it. But otherwise this turning point for the latter half of the expansion was good. I wasn’t sure how to feel about MSQ going forward, though, because I was like “Wait, where’s the rest of it?”
In terms of my overall thoughts on the first half of this expansion… It’s very good as a way to decompress following the end of the Hydaelyn and Zodiark saga that ended in 6.0, and even a good way to relax after everything that happens with Zero and the void.
I know there’s a ton of Disc Horse (™) around this expansion, particularly about Wuk Lamat and the rite and how “slow” the first part is. I have two things that come to mind about it all: this isn’t the Shadowbringers or Endwalker of this next story arc. This is the Realm Reborn to the next arc. Things are definitely going to be a bit slow.
In addition…the WOL may not be the protagonist of this particular part of the story, but that doesn’t mean the first half and dealing with the rite is worthless? The WOL knows by now that they were Azem, the Traveler. Remember, the Traveler part of that convocation title? My BFF/roommate Sarria put it best:
“DT really feels like it's back to our "roots" and I mean like AZEM roots. Being The Traveler, visiting new places and meeting new people and learning about places outside of our known bubble. Listening to people's stories and desires and then being asked to help specifically *because* we listened to and learned from the locals. And I for one really really am loving it. The story doesn't have to be about us - just being there means we have a role. (Also the first half of DT isn't supposed to be about us anyway.)”
I find it so funny that people have such a problem with it--and I won’t lie, I do agree that some of it had slow pacing. But like…I don’t know, this really feels in line for what Azem would do. We are Azem now, we have the crystal and everything. We’re not known in this continent because it’s only been 70 years since the world we know made contact with it--to the point of the guy credited with discovering this “New World” IS STILL ALIVE. There is ample reason why your character is not the focus of the first half of the expansion, and it’s so disheartening to see people just…not get that?
It could be that my overall excitement to explore the new zones laid out before us led me to be much more forgiving of this section, but getting to know the people of Yok Tural was such a treat. I can’t wait for NG+ to come around for 7.0 so I get to explore all of this again.
Okay, back to going zone by zone.
Zone 4, part 1
So as someone who knows the Southwest US fairly well this zone was excellent, I loved the vibes. The overworld music is great.
I will say outright here that I’ve kind of been an Erenville disliker since his introduction in EW. He’s been overhyped for a character who up to DT basically had no personality in my eyes, so I was apprehensive about how this zone would go with him as our only companion. But, credit where it’s due, the writers actually got me to come around on him a little with the background we finally get for him. Not entirely, I still have issues with him, but he’s now more well-rounded.
Seeing the railyard workers actually made me cry, specifically seeing Not!Magnus’ wife. I’m so glad that 1: they were included and 2: explicitly shown to be the exact same as the people we know from the first. My roommate Sarria and I joked several times that this was SHB/Trolleys 2 and it was such a delight getting to laugh about it.
The end point for this visit to the zone was excellent. The dread had been building for me the whole time, knowing that something was around the corner, but no idea what. So the dome appearing and then the aftermath in Tulliyollal was anticipated, but about as brutal as I was expecting.
Tulliyollal revisit and Zone 4, part 2
The destruction of Tulliyollal and trying to aid those we could was done well, to me anyway. The devs handled that sort of thing pretty well in EW, so was glad to see it done again just as well.
Then comes the “cat”valry as I’d like to call it. Honestly, the moment I heard G’raha’s voice and heard Eternal Wind, it was like I could finally breathe. I think that’s the point of him and Y’shtola showing up to give you help for the rest of the expansion--they give a sense of release to all the tension and anxiety players might feel after the attack on Tulliyollal. A mini version of what the low-stakes rite of succession is to the story overall. You have to have a release for tension before building it up again, because building tension with no release just doesn’t work.
The truth of what the golden door is threw me for a loop, because I was NOT expecting it. I imagine it’s what people felt when the SHB launch trailer dropped and the truth about Hydaelyn and Zodiark was given--you’re so shocked that it’s a bit much to process. But I liked the revelations about the golden city and Krile and everything.
The revisit to Shaaloani was a delight, and deciding to blow up the train was exactly the kind of crazy I’d expect from the Source version of the trolley guys from Twine. The song that played during the coronation came back and it felt just as cheesy as before, but I think I’d accepted it by this point? I just let it happen even though it doesn’t really work for me.
And the Vanguard dungeon is SO good. I loved the music--honestly Soken popped off this expansion for the most part.
Zone 5/Second Trial
So I love the aesthetic of this zone in general--thank you for giving us FF10’s Thunder Plains properly this time!!!--but there was a zone where I ever felt like the story was loosing me, it was this one. I wasn’t sure what to make of the time bubble nor the regulators, so it took some time for Heritage Found to find its footing for me.
Sphene also was slightly unsettling, in a way? It was hard to put my finger on whether she was sympathetic or playing you, which I guess is the point.
Solution Nine kind of just…added to my sense of confusion. I was a bit lost on it all, and trying to wrap my head around it. It is also way to big and spread out for my tastes…but oh well.
With all the talk of souls, though, I finally understood why all the Void stuff with Zero in the 6.X patches was actually good to spend so much time with, since it was basically a primer for ALL of this stuff in the latter half of DT. So once NG+ is here for Dawntrail, I may actually start with 6.1 and see how it all flows together.
What finally got me back on loving the plot again was seeing baby Gulool Ja and Otis in the other half of the map, where the ruins of Alexandria are. I haven’t even played FF9 myself, only watched a very abridged playthrough, but the way I instantly knew who Otis was a stand in for made me feel so warm and comforted. Steiner is just so goofy and endearing, and Otis is exactly like him.
Was not surprised by Zoraal Ja making his move, but the cutscene for the defense of Tulliyollal was very good. I was surprised by Sphene both in and out of Solution Nine for that instanced duty, and I think here is where I really started to see the parallels between what I know of FF9 and DT. Sphene is Wuk Lamat’s mirror, at least in a way--loving and compassionate and charismatic (because I’d come to like her quite a bit by the point she outright says she was playing you). She exemplifies the extreme end of Wuk Lamat’s desire for peace, and the need to protect and preserve her people.
The fight against Zoraal Ja is a satisfying one. I am not the person to ask to talk about fight design or anything so will leave that to others. But I thought it was good.
Also liked the revelations after the trial, where Sphene turns on you for real. It did feel like downing Vauthry just to have Emet steal the Exarch again, though maybe not in the same way. Similar dramatic stakes, I guess I’m trying to say.
Zone 6, and the Finale
This zone will always have an interesting flavor to it for me, since I use the Living Memory title for personal WOL lore reasons. But the zone is, I think, such an excellent one for what the expansion as a whole is trying to say.
As I mentioned at the beginning, despite its cheerful colors and friendly looking character design, FF9 is a darker story. It deals with death and the existential. The perfect word to sum up FF9, from what I know, is bittersweet. And I think this zone--and in a way both zones and the city that comprise Alexandria--PERFECTLY handles that bittersweet feeling.
The weather is Reminiscence, bathing everything in this beautiful golden color. It’s full of areas referencing FF9--I recognized Alexandria and the Iifa Tree, but each zone is a call back to 9. The music is this soft, comforting piece that just triggered my nostalgia for a game I haven’t even played. Seeing Otis in his prime again, the tour of the Gardens with Cachuia, letting Krile meet her parents and learn her real name--it’s all so bittersweet.
Every time you turn off a terminal, you get that message of how nothing will go back to what it was. And the part of Living Memory that you shut down is then forever less colorful and lively, and there’s no music (at least when you’re there during this part of MSQ). You’re left with silence. We can always remember it like it was before (or use NG+ to bring it back if you were a dummy like me and didn't gpose there before it went away), but it won't ever be the same now.
I took my time in Living Memory before moving from area to area, and did all aether currents and quests as I could/they became available which only happened AFTER the zone was gone for the quests. So I was doing all this in silence. Left alone with my thoughts on it all and trying to understand what the point was.
Sphene is clinging so much to that nostalgia for a time gone by because of her programming, and it’s sad to have to end it. But to me, she is eerily similar to Emet-Selch: she was clinging to the memory of the dead, desperate to bring them back and keep them alive. But in the end, it was only an imitation that would lead to untold amounts of suffering to others.
All of Living Memory reminded me so much of Amaurot. Sphene letting the Endless explore as they pleased was I think a much kinder version of Emet's magic working on Amaurot, but I couldn't help but see the similarity there.
I did cry in this zone, during G’raha’s talk with the player in the gondola and all the interactions Krile had with her parents. And it’s just…sad. You might feel awful about destroying the Endless once you understand them and their ways, but in the end…they’re only memories of people who died long ago. Their lives continuing are coming at the cost of the future for everyone on the Source and the reflections. It just can’t be sustained as Sphene’s realm continues to grow and more and more is needed to keep things running.
Sphene wanted the best for her people, going as far as she did for them. And I like that she is clearly kind but does a lot of bad things out of love for her people, and the desire to preserve them. But in the end, she had to accept why death is an important part of life.
I loved the Alexandria dungeon, and the trial was excellent. I will say that the intermission was maybe a bit long, but I still liked it tremendously. I’m excited to see what the relic has in store for us, and where the new arc of the story will take us.
Overall thoughts
DT has two very distinct sections, and there are parts I think could be refined to maybe make things go smoother overall, but honestly? I am totally willing to overlook those things because I enjoyed myself as much as I did.
DT, to me, managed to deliver on the summer vacation aspect that was so heavily advertised while also keeping with FF14’s larger ideas about hope persisting in even the hardest of times, and why the connections between people are so important. It also continues to show why it is not just important but also good to remember the past fondly, but it is just as important to keep moving forward in the best interests of all people.
I said it in the part about Living Memory and the finale for DT, but Sphene is very similar to Emet-Selch, and while some of the Heritage Found stuff lost me for a bit, the story did hit its mark where it needed to. The ending zone was not what the Tempest or Ultima Thule were, and I’m glad that it’s not. I’m sad that I’ll have to replay on an alt or when we get DT NG+ to take the pictures I wanted there, but that’s the point. You’re supposed to feel a longing for something that you can never truly get back, and that’s one of the best parts about it. You’re left with this bittersweet feeling as you let go of the past, and these people who are long gone.
DT drove home Venat’s point from EW even more for me. To use Ardbert’s words from SHB, “Joy and sorrow walk hand in hand.” There is joy and sorrow all over the place in Tural’s story and in its peoples, and I loved how every minute went even if sometimes it did feel a bit slow. But not everything needs to be so fast paced, either.
And even in the slower-paced parts, the WOL is really embodying the adventurer spirit we’ve returned to. We’re embracing our Azem roots, and travelling to new lands and meeting new people and coming to enjoy their cultures and presence. That sort of thing is what Venat, the previous Azem, loved so much about the world. And getting to understand her sentiments a bit more was excellent.
All in all, while DT has its faults, I 100% think this a great expansion. I’m excited again to see what is to come from this story, when I was apprehensive at best after 6.X patch story.
#tldr i liked dawntrail a lot but totally get why others may not#dawntrail spoilers#ffxiv spoilers#dt spoilers#dawntrail

Got tagged by @kiki-shortsnout and this seems fun, so let’s do it!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Great question! None! Mainly because I started using AO3 last year and I have natural anxiety towards the publish button.
(You may not understand, but that button… that button scares me.)
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
I have a very prideful zero. My goal this year is to try publish at least a 1k word count fic? I think it’s a fair step towards conquering my fear with that publish button.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Various Minecraft YouTubers (MCYT). I’ve been in this fandom for years, wrote about lots of peeps, but my current obsession is GeminiTay o/ (and maybe a little bit of Ethoslab. I never watch the guy before and I’m finally discovering his charm whoops)
DanganRonpa. As in writing OCs in the killing game aspect. I barely written anything about the characters other than my top 5 favourites though.
Undertale and its AUs. Especially the AUs, I remember being so crazy about it. Still do, but a bit more tone down in these past years. I write them during my need of comfort days. I have this one incomplete story from the fandom that I intend to finish it one day.
Marvel. This is my current biggest obsession. Specifically FrostIronStrange, following up with the Avengers.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
I’m gonna answer this based on other websites that I’ve published since my AO3 page is empty. I don’t normally publish my fics cuz I’m a bit awkward in sharing, but amongst the ones I do share to public (they are mostly taken down at this point):
Méng Yǒu
Five Nights at Team Crafted
Three Peaks Castle
Colours
Dream. Glitch. World.
5. Do you respond to comments?
Most of my comments are from my friends so yes!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Probably that one Marvel series about an immortal child entity who travels through the multiverse determined to help solve the universal problems/threats in every universe/dimensions that they visits. It’s a series of never ending one shots because she never stops travelling. Obviously there are bound to have some very angsty endings where they fail to save the whole universe. Or she saved the universe, but she had to make hard decisions that affects them deeply.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Uhm… the world is saved from not being converted into a coded game? If you don’t consider fluff fics about typical daily life. Now that I think about it, there’s never a ‘true’ happy ending with my fics. I usually write the ‘to achieve the ultimate win, you lose something along the way’.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Nope. My fics typically don’t get discovered by people. Let alone by haters.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
When I’m feeling horny. I write very questionable porn with plot fics. Don’t ask. I swore to never share them.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Yes! I love writing crossovers between two of my favourite fandoms! I think the craziest would be MCYT x FNAF. Cuz it’s my first ever crossover fic and it holds a special place in my heart.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Nope. I think people prefer stealing works that are both great and completed. Sadly I’m neither great nor have I ever publish a complete fic to the public.
12. Does not exist apparently
Like my works? I have a ton that I have completed but never share to anyone.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Does co-writing a comic counts? I’ve co-written a short comic series with an irl friend before. It was only shared amongst my group of friends.
14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?
FrostIronStrange is definitely at the top. It’s one of the very few romance shippings that I do since I normally do platonic or familial ships like Gemtho, SansxToriel, CharaxFriskxAsriel, Grian and Pearl etc.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Most of my long fics. Don’t get me wrong, I love all of them and I’m not abandoning them, but I have this problem where once I finish outlining the plot of my fics, my brain automatically files them as completed and places them at the easily forgotten corner even though I didn’t finish writing them. Plus I have a habit of jumping around between different stories… listen, I write for fun okay? I enjoy writing for the sake of writing so I don’t really care if it gets complete or not. Thinking about ‘must complete’ gives me stress and I don’t think it’s worth carrying that pressure when life itself is already stressful.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Worldbuilding, plot making, character backgrounds.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Grammar, dialogue writings, endings.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I constantly writes in both English and Chinese, so that’s not an issue for me.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Team Crafted from the very old MCYT fandom
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
I like all of my fic. Case closed.
(You are never gonna force me to pick one. NEVER)
Who to tag next for the game?
I’m tagging everyone who has seen this post and hasn’t done the answers yet. So TAG, YOU’RE IT!

Hello!
I saw that on Sky Germany website there is a video of Sebastian at the SailGP. Do you still translate things related to Sebastian Vettel?
Here https://sport.sky.de/artikel/segeln-ex-formel-1-fahrer-sebastian-vettel-feiert-premiere/12925984/34240
Translation coming up!
Okay it's really weird, because most parts of the video don't have sound 🤔
My phone cannot play the video at all, saying it's not available and then I thought my laptop has difficulties with playing sound overall, but the video has got sound, but only the parts where Seb is talking and it sounds like he is answering some kind of questions so there is definitely something missing!
—————————————————
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/7b4aec6ae1aab9b5dec1bee3a08256ce/a0bfa6866aec6d06-86/s540x810/bb75dfcf534e8719dcd81ba7c855a058b8874489.jpg)
To sum it up:
Seb is now co-owner of the German SailGP team and was able to take part in a drive around on the German F50-catamaran this weekend at the coast of Los Angeles. The video shows Seb interacting with people, getting on the boat and a little segment of him taking part in the drive. (*all without sound*🥲)
—————————————————
But here are the parts that I could hear (some of which were already in English which I only transcribed. I also did little paragraphs where I suspect new questionshave been asked):
"It was by coincidence obviously. I often heard that there are a lot of similarities between sailing really high class and racing on the track, which I know (*laughs*) probably a lot better (*laughs*), but yeah, then though Thomas, who yeah, was the initiator of the German team, I got into it, I heard about it, learned about it, and yeah, I got more and more hooked. I'm not a sailor myself, yet, so maybe to be, but yeah, that's how it all started. (I) tried windsurfing, that's as close as I got.
Now it's fascinating to see there's a whole nother world that which I said has a lot ofthings in common and yeah, to understand the element of wind is very difficult because you can't grab it.
I think watching now on TV is a lot easier then back in the day, because you've got all the graphics, so you understand actually who is leading, what's going on, you see where the wind is coming and what's most likely to happen. In the end it's all about details and that's what every team seems to be looking for.
Well I think for sure by nature. It's more sustainable, I mean it's powered by nature, so obviously that's very exciting. Once it gets the lift and foils, it's pretty incredible. Also to stand on land and see it is pretty cool.
Well it's still early days. If you look at it, as far as I understand where the team comes from I think it's a big shot. I think we are happy with how the first event went and looking forward to the second one.
Yeah I think for one, the speed. When the boat was up once, everything is suddenly quiet and you can only hear the wind, but then the wind gets stronger and then the maneuvers in the corners, the interaction of the crew, the coordination just beforehand and the start, cause there us not much time left then to speed around the corners. I think you kind of understand more of how everything works together, so that it will work well, if you've driven yourself.
Yeah, I would say I still have the view if an athlete and I think it's incredibly interesting. I think every kind of sport has its charm and if you get into it like today it helps you a lot more to assess it. That the level is very high I think you can see from the outside, how big the boats are and then the speeds added to that, but if you then have the chance to participate/drive in it once, I really enjoyed it, then I think you can get more into the rhythm and understand what exactly is demanded. Its very very physical, you are on edge the whole time, especially with the G forces in the corners and yeah, it's oftentimes hard to explain, even if back then when I talked about racing it was very hard to convey that it's actually really exhausting, and yeah, it's a great sport, really.
Yeah well, my role isn't really that active that I sit in the boat every weekend, steer it and make decisions with them, but rather try to incorporate my experience from theoutside. Especially the teamwork and the all data is something that I worked with extensively within the last years, or was allowed to work with, and be able to bring something to the table there, I think just this inside view, because I think not dependable on the kind of sport you can contribute a lot of experiences and if it helps, all the better.
Ah well, it was great. I didn't know what to expect to be honest. It was really impressive in many ways, first of all the speed on water is you know, a different perception of speed. But then the G forces, the cornering, but also to see the crew, you know communicating to each other, preparing sort of the next move, why you're trying to optimise the current course, yeah. Also you know there's sometimes not much time before you make a decision orbefore you got to make a turn, so that was very impressive to feel it from the inside.
Yeah for sure, it's very different to racing. I mean I did miss my seat belts and my seat, so it was a bit adventurous at the beginning, the changing sides, gotta aim for the little hole to jump into, but yeah, I did get used to that part, but the first couple of times was, I wouldn't say scary, just very very unusual. But yeah, then you get in the groove and obviously I had whole trust in the team surrounding and it was fun to then feel the boat also accelerating, picking up speed, so that was very nice."
—————————————————
Interview, after Seb was just taking a ride on the catamaran:
Person A: "Allright, you're ready? Is everything working?"
B: "Yeah"
A: "Cool! (To Seb:) Okay, if you can look at me: So, what is your first reaction? You actually got to drive and fly the boat! What was it like?"
Seb: "Well it was amazing! I think (it's) very different when you're on the boat than when you are on land, but everything is moving, changing sides is eh, quite a challenge the first time, then you sort of get used to it. Very very impressed by the G force, you were able to pull the boat round the corners, I did not expect that! Yeah, I was wishing for a setabelt to be honest (*laughs*) when cornering, but yeah it was incredible to see how the team interacts with each other, always trying to keep the boat in control and obviously try to make it go as fast as possible, yeah, was impressive."
A: "How was the crossing-the-boat?"
*Switches to German and basically repeats it all*
Seb: "Yeah, I mean I didn't look down, so I just focused on where I needed to end up and also, you know, when you see the corner, the turn coming, I was sometimes a little bit, not panicking, cause I trust them, but thinking 'okay, it's about time! Should J really? Switch? To the other side?' And then obviously they're used to it, doing it in the last second so literally a second before the last turn, the last guy hops in the hole and we got the corner coming, so yeah, good fun, definitely!
Yeah, it was mega! Very different from what I expected, especially the G forces in the corners, you can really let it fly around the corners. But also the speed in general! Just with the wind, when the boat is going up it all gets a little quieter and you only hear the wind that is getting louder and louder. Yeah it was a lot of fun and also seeing how the team works together and always has everything under control, yeah a lot to take in, but it was really good!"
