FAQs on Cross-Save Function Between Genshin Impact HoYoverse Accounts and Microsoft Accounts

Greetings, dear Travelers!

Genshin Impact is about to launch on Xbox Series X|S. Here, we will answer your questions about the cross-save function from five aspects: account linking, top-ups, bundles and limited-time rewards, Co-Op on Xbox, and friends.

〓Account Linking〓

● Linking Operations

Q1: What is the cross-save function between HoYoverse Accounts and Microsoft Accounts?

A1: The cross-save function between accounts allows you to link accounts from two different platforms (your HoYoverse Account and your Microsoft Account) and share your progress as well as your in-game data between the two accounts. Once your qualifying Microsoft Account is linked to a HoYoverse Account, you will be able to log in on iOS/Android/PC using your HoYoverse Account, or on Xbox using the Microsoft Account linked to the same HoYoverse Account and resume your game progress.

Q2: How does account linking work?

A2: Travelers need to have a qualifying Microsoft Account, email account, or HoYoverse Account. After linking these accounts, the Microsoft Account and HoYoverse Account will share game progress.

*The HoYoverse Account is registered through an email account, and they are distinct from each other. When email account and HoYoverse Account are mentioned later, please pay attention to the differences.

Q3: What kind of account meets the linking requirements?

A3: If the Microsoft Account currently logged in on the device is not linked to a HoYoverse Account, it is eligible for linking. There are two linking scenarios:

1) If the Microsoft Account has not been used to log into a HoYoverse game before: The Microsoft Account can be linked to an existing HoYoverse Account that has game progress, allowing shared game progress.

2) When logging into the HoYoverse game on Xbox Series X|S for the first time and selecting Quick Resume, the Microsoft Account will be considered as already having HoYoverse game progress. In this case, it can be linked to an email account that has not registered a HoYoverse Account. This email will automatically register a HoYoverse Account and link it to the Microsoft Account.

This is under development and is not indicative of the final product.

Travelers, please note that the following cases are not eligible for account linking:

You cannot link an email account that has already registered for a HoYoverse Account with a Microsoft Account that has logged into a HoYoverse game. This is because once a Microsoft Account logs into a Hoyoverse game, it automatically registers a HoYoverse account, making it impossible to link it to another email account that already has a registered HoYoverse account.

Therefore, if Travelers want to link a Microsoft Account that has logged into a HoYoverse game with an email account, they must ensure that the email account has not already registered for a HoYoverse Account.

Q4: What do I need to do to link my accounts?

A4: Depending on which of the two cases below applies to you, the procedure you need to follow will be slightly different.

The two cases and their corresponding linking procedures are as follows:

Case 1:

I have game progress on other platforms and would like to link my HoYoverse account with a Microsoft Account that has not logged into a HoYoverse game.

Linking procedure:

On the Xbox Series X|S platform, using your Microsoft Account that has never previously logged in to a HoYoverse game, open the game for the first time. Follow the steps in the pop-up window to link your email account that has registered for a HoYoverse Account. This will link both accounts.

*IMPORTANT: The pop-up window prompting you to link your accounts only appears when your Microsoft Account enters the game for the first time, after you agree to the Terms of Service. You can only link an existing HoYoverse Account from this pop-up window. If you skip the pop-up, your Microsoft Account will log in to the game and register a HoYoverse Account, after which it can no longer be linked to another HoYoverse Account.

Case 2:

I have game progress on Xbox Series X|S and would like to link my HoYoverse account to play on other platforms.

Linking procedure:

Log in to the game on Xbox Series X|S, then go to Settings > Account > User Center > Link Account and link your Microsoft Account that is logged in to Genshin Impact to an email account that has not registered for a HoYoverse Account. After linking, your game progress will be shared when you log into your HoYoverse Account to play on the same server on iOS/Android/PC.

● Game Server Selection and PSN Platform Linking

Q5: What is the relationship between the HoYoverse account, HoYoverse games, and the game servers?

A5: A HoYoverse account can correspond to game progress across various HoYoverse games. Specifically, for a single HoYoverse game, it can have progress across multiple servers. For example, a Traveler's HoYoverse account in Genshin Impact can have progress on the Asia, Europe, America, TW, HK, MO servers simultaneously. Therefore, when Travelers link their HoYoverse account with other platform accounts, they should pay attention to the corresponding server relationships.

Q6: Which servers can be accessed on Genshin Impact from the Xbox Series X|S platform? Is there a correlation between the store region of the Microsoft Account and the Genshin Impact servers?

A6: The Xbox Series X|S platform can access the Asia, Europe, America, HK, TW, and MO servers for Genshin Impact. There is no correlation between the store region of the Microsoft Account and the Genshin Impact servers. Travelers can select their server based on their gaming preferences when logging into Genshin Impact on the Xbox Series X|S.

Q7: How can accounts for PSN and Microsoft Accounts share Genshin Impact game progress?

A7: If Travelers want to share Genshin Impact game progress between their account for PSN and Microsoft Account, they need to link both accounts to the same HoYoverse account.

Travelers should note that the store region of the account for PSN corresponds to the Genshin Impact servers, while the Microsoft Account allows for server selection. Therefore, it's important to confirm the server where the game progress is located during the linking process.

For example, if a Traveler's Genshin Impact progress is on the America server and their account for PSN corresponds to the Asia server, then after linking said account to the account for PSN and Microsoft Account, when logging in on the PSN platform, they will access the Asia server's progress, and the progress on the America server will not be available. However, when logging in on the Xbox platform, they can select the server themselves, allowing them to access the progress on both the Asia and America servers as corresponding to their linked accounts.

Q8: Can I unlink my Microsoft Account and HoYoverse Account after linking them?

A8: Currently, you can only unlink the Microsoft Account from the HoYoverse Account once. Travelers, please consider carefully before carrying out account linking.

Q9: If my Microsoft Account logs in to the game for the first time and the game closes unexpectedly when the linking pop-up window appears, will I still be able to carry linking out afterwards?

A9: If this happens, the linking pop-up window will still appear the next time you log in to the game.

Q10: After account linking, can I use my Microsoft Account to log in on iOS/Android/PC, or use the linked HoYoverse Account to log in on Xbox Series X|S?

A10: The above login methods are not supported currently. Regardless of whether the accounts are linked, please note the following:

1) Only HoYoverse Accounts and supported third-party accounts can be used to log in on iOS/Android/PC.

2) Only a Microsoft Account can be used to log in on Xbox Series X|S.

Q11: I already have HoYoverse game progress on my Microsoft Account. In the User Center, can I link it to an email account that has registered for a HoYoverse Account?

A11: Currently, a Microsoft Account with existing game progress can only be linked to an email account that has not registered for a HoYoverse Account. A Microsoft Account with game progress is counted as having registered for a HoYoverse Account, and cannot be linked to an email account that has registered for a HoYoverse Account.

Q12: How can I check the email account associated with my linked HoYoverse account?

A12: After logging in to the game, you can check your associated email account under Settings > Account > User Center.

Q13: Can one Microsoft Account be linked to more than one email account? Or can an email account that has registered for a HoYoverse Account be linked to a multiple Microsoft Accounts?

A13: Currently, a Microsoft Account can only be linked to one email. Likewise, an email account that has been used to register a HoYoverse Account can only be linked to one Microsoft Account.

Q14: My email has registered for a HoYoverse Account. After logging in to the game on Xbox Series X|S with a Microsoft Account, can I link said email account to the Microsoft Account via Settings > Account > User Center > Link Account?

A14: In this case, account linking is not possible. A Microsoft Account that has previously logged in to HoYoverse games can only be linked to an email account that has not registered for a HoYoverse Account.

It is recommended that Travelers use a Microsoft Account that has not previously logged in to a HoYoverse game and carry out account linking via the pop-up window that appears when first logging in to the game.

Q15: My email account has been used to register for a HoYoverse Account, but I've never logged into any HoYoverse game. Can I log in on Xbox Series X|S and then link this email account to a Microsoft Account under Settings > Account > User Center > Link Account?

A15: No. Currently, an email account that has been used to register for a HoYoverse Account cannot be linked to a Microsoft Account that has previously logged into the game.

Travelers can change the email address currently linked to their HoYoverse Account to unlink the email account from their HoYoverse Account, or use an email account that has not been used to register for a HoYoverse Account to carry out linking.

Q16: I missed the linking pop-up window that appeared the first time I logged in to the game with my Microsoft Account. Will this pop-up reappear? Can I still log in to the game on Xbox Series X|S and link my email account in the User Center?

A16: The pop-up window only appears when the Microsoft Account logs in to a HoYoverse game for the first time, after you agree to the Terms of Service. Please watch out for it, because it will not reappear if missed.

Q17: How do I enable the cross-save function between a Microsoft Account and a third-party account?

A17:

1) If the HoYoverse Account associated with the third-party account is linked to an email account: Using a Microsoft Account that has never logged into the game, please enter the game for the first time and follow the instructions that appear on the pop-up window to link the email account associated with your HoYoverse Account.

2) If the HoYoverse Account associated with your third-party account is not linked to an email account, please log in to the game using your third-party account, link an email account in Settings > Account > User Center > Link Account, then follow the relevant account linking procedure to link your Microsoft Account.

3) Currently, third-party accounts cannot be linked to Microsoft Accounts that has previously logged in to HoYoverse games.

Q18: How can I check my linked account for Microsoft Account?

A18: Log in to the game from any platform and view your linked Microsoft Account in Settings > Account > User Center.

〓About Top-Ups〓

Q1: Are Genesis Crystals or Battle Passes purchased on iOS/Android/PC and on Xbox shared between platforms via the cross-save function?

A1: After account linking, Genesis Crystals obtained on iOS/Android/PC and Genesis Crystals obtained on Xbox will be linked for the same account. This also applies to Battle Pass purchases. When switching platforms, the Genesis Crystals from different platforms will be displayed. Travelers can use these Genesis Crystals as per usual.

Q2: After linking my Microsoft Account, can I top-up Genesis Crystals on iOS/Android/PC for a HoYoverse Account registered on Xbox, or vice versa?

A2: Top-ups for a HoYoverse Account registered and linked on Xbox can be carried out on Xbox, the Top-Up Center website, and iOS/Android/PC.

〓About Bundle Rewards〓

Q1: How do I obtain the wind glider "Wings of Fate's Course Intertwined"?

A2: The wind gliders will be sent via in-game mail.

Q4: How can I obtain an Xbox Game Pass member Genshin Impact bundle?

After each version update of Genshin Impact, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can log into the game on Xbox Series X|S to receive a bundle mail on their corresponding in-game account. Please remember to claim it in time, as the mail is valid for 365 days.

Bundle contents are as follows:

〓About Cross-Platform on Xbox〓

Q1: Will Co-Op Mode on Xbox be any different after linking my account?

A1: After account linking, we will add a cross-platform control function to Genshin Impact for Xbox. Travelers can use it to select Co-Op Mode preferences. When this function is disabled, there will be no differences in Co-Op Mode, and Travelers on Xbox and other platforms can play in Co-Op Mode together. When this function is enabled:

1) Players can only enter Co-Op Mode with other players on Xbox.

2) On the Co-Op Mode screen, players on Xbox and on other platforms will be unable to see each other's Co-Op Team information.

3) During Co-Op matching, a platform restriction rule will be added. If the host is a Xbox user, only users on the same platform can join the team. Players on Xbox will also be unable to join Co-Op teams where the host is playing on another platform.

Q2: Where is the switch for the cross-platform control function on Xbox?

A2: After logging into Genshin Impact on Xbox, go to the Paimon Menu > Settings > Other.

〓About Friends〓

Q1: When playing Genshin Impact on Xbox, how many Friends Lists will I have? Can I see my Friends Lists on both the Xbox platform and non-Xbox platforms?

A1:

After linking, there will be two Friends Lists, namely "Genshin Impact Friends" and "Genshin Impact Friends on 'Xbox.'" The "Genshin Impact Friends" list can be viewed from any platform, but "Genshin Impact Friends on 'Xbox'" can only be viewed on Xbox.

Q2: What is the relationship between the "Genshin Impact Friends" and "Genshin Impact Friends on 'Xbox'" lists?

A2: "Genshin Impact Friends" are friends added from within the game. "Genshin Impact Friends on 'Xbox'" are friends with a Microsoft Account who have played Genshin Impact on the same server. The two lists are independent of each other.

Any changes that you make to your Friend List on iOS/Android/PC will not affect the status of the "Genshin Impact Friends on 'Xbox'" list.

If you delete a friend directly from your Microsoft Account, that friend will be removed from the "Genshin Impact Friends on 'Xbox'" list, but not from the "Genshin Impact Friends" list.

If you remove someone from the blocklist on your Microsoft Account, no changes will be made to the "Genshin Impact Friends" list, including its blocklist.

Q3: Can I do things like chat and request to enter a friend's world from both the "Genshin Impact Friends" and the "Genshin Impact Friends on 'Xbox'" lists?

A3: You can chat, request to enter friends' worlds, and view their avatars from the "Genshin Impact Friends" list. You can view friend information or request to enter their world from the "Genshin Impact Friends on 'Xbox'" list.

Q4: How can I check the gamertag of "Genshin Impact Friends on 'Xbox'"?

A4: A friend's gamertag cannot be displayed if either of you is logged into a platform other than Xbox.

Gamertags are only visible on the Friends screen if both you and your friend are logged in on Xbox.

a little off topic for the post but ive been playing around with the idea of making a band smau (after hours by 777bambi is so good every update got me at the edge of my seat) and ive primarily been focusing on that as of late so my next few posts might just be headcanons

Thinks it's great to game together, an easy way for you guys to bond and have fun!!

He kind of likes the more nostalgic games, like super mario bros for the wii (this made me look up the game to confirm it's age and it was made in 2009 wtf??)

Let's you be player 1 but the catch is that he gets to be luigi

Stan prefers playing games on the wii (and switch) and or the ps4/ps5. He's a console kind of guy.

Prefers playing video games at your house and he'll even bring the necessary consoles over if needed just because if his dad sees you two playing he's going to whine to Stan about joining in.

Aside from nostalgic games he's also an action game multiplayer fan, lot of games he has is stylized to be fit for multiple people, so think of games like "It Takes Two" or even the multiplayer parts of Pokemon SWSH / Pokemon SV.

If you're a more single player kind of person, he definitely doesn't mind watching you play while cuddling. Would probably fall asleep watching you play.

I could see him playing Stardew Valley co-op with you if you convince him, but doesn't enjoy the whole farming thing too much

He marries Abigail in retaliation for making him play it with you. (Marry Shane and he will IMMEDIATELY divorce Abigail and beg you to marry him)

He still definitely plays multiplayer pc games with his friends, but sees no real joy in playing it by himself (think like valorant or league)

HOWEVER, if you want to play those games with him? Total tryhard but the really bad kind of tryhard.

Considering he only plays these games with Kyle, Kenny, and Cartman and doesn't play it on his own time he kinda sucks lol.

Unlike Stan, Kyle loves games like valorant, league, etc. He gets to let out his rage easily by winning

When he loses everyone in South Park knows, he's so mad. However he rarely loses so South Park is safe.

Out of his friends he's for sure got the most amount of kills and wins.

Screams "LETS GOOOOO" when he wins LMFAO. Then gives you a victory kiss.

FPS games is Kyle's specialty. He's def an omen main or something.

If FPS isn't your thing or if you're not good at it Kyle gets it. If you're willing he'll show you how to play (and how to get good fast) however just don't play with him, if you're lagging behind (even if you're new) he's so annoyed, but never mad.

Is willing to play other games with you 100%. Also thinks it's great to game together, even if your guys' gaming genres don't match he's willing to play what you like.

Mario Kart is your guys' go to. You always win against him which leaves Kyle in shock so he often demands rematches.

Ike joins with you guys sometimes and you both initially let Ike win. Ike gets mad though because he wants you both to play equally with him, so when you play fairly he still wins because Ike is just that guy.

Is more of the guy that prefers you to watch as he plays, however has no issue if you want to take over playing and he watches, he makes you guys snacks to have while you play.

Avid minecrafter tbh, played it mainly for Ike but then got addicted. So now he makes you play it with him too. He's definitely the "miner". Goes all out on making sure you both have the best armor and weapons. Has a shit ton of diamonds so he made you a diamond shovel for the hell of it even though it's a dumb thing to waste diamonds on. Made you a pink wool heart behind your house when you were gone.

Also an avid tile matcher (think candy crush), begs you constantly for lives. Please give him lives he gives the MEANEST puppy dog eyes.

Literally any type of horror game is his go to game. Also likes those RPG horror games (think like ib, the witch's house, misao)

Sets you up by saving right before a jumpscare and then has you come over to play it with him and then you get to experience the jumpscare.

Late night horror game playing with Kenny <3 where you two just play roblox horror games all night, sometimes he puts in the comedic horror ones just so you guys can laugh at how bad it is.

He borrowed Outlast from Cartman to play on your console and you still have nightmares.

"Don't worry baby, nothing can get you when I'm here!" "What if you're NOT here though :(" and then cue him as Mysterion for the next 3 weeks to protect you.

Demands to be princess peach or rosalina in any mario game you guys play. If only one of them is an option and you take that character he will refuse to talk to you until you give up the character

Is also another minecraft enjoyer but likes scaring you with Herobrine LOL and that one scary jukebox disc.

Kenny prefers multiplayer games that aren't limited to just two players only multiplayer. Only because Karen can play the game with you two then.

If you do happen to playing a two player only multiplayer game and Karen wants to join he lets her take over for him.

Kenny also loves puzzle like games (think like escape room games or keep talking and no one explodes).

Really he just loves seeing your face get all frustrated when playing these kinds of games. He rarely gets frustrated with things like these because he manages to somehow always figure it out, but doesn't say anything just to watch you get annoyed.

If you start getting really frustrated at the game and he notices, he does one of three things; he takes the controller or your phone away and turns on a new game, he actually solves it to spare your sanity, or he saves the game and helps take your mind off of the game and onto something else.

holy shit this year marks 10 years of this blog and moz!! i can't remember the exact date i started posting here - my archive says i have one post from november 2013 but let's disregard that - but i do remember it was around late 2014/early 2015 :)

2014 → baby's first rpg!! i started playing fnv on my cousin's jailbroken xbox late 2013 and finished mid 2014 and i loved every minute of it. i remember waking up at 8am and playing almost nonstop until 2am the next day haha!

i didn't play moz on my first playthrough - but i did start creating a character that would eventually become her: a shorthaired ex-boxer who punched her way through obstacles when diplomacy failed. i remember she spent a lot of time with boone. i liked him then, because he saved my ass more times than i can count. but i digress. this is draft 1 moz essentially

2015 → this is the year that i was doing my thesis so i could graduate but i was so depressed and stressed about it that i distracted myself by replaying fnv on pc, where i played through the dlcs for the first time. i fell in love with the dlcs' oversarching story; particularly ulysses, who i became obssessed with, especially since i couldn't find any content of him at the time. in the game, i played as moz; i had most of her personality and choices down, but her backstory was still up in the air.

fun fact: this was an existing sideblog that i remade to be a fallout blog so i could look for ulysses content, and when i couldn't find any, i made some myself, featuring moz as my main courier six. originally, i didn't ship them, but eventually i ended the year as a courier/ulysses otp shipper.

this was the year i started drawing digitally - my uncle let me borrow a drawing tablet and i used an old copy of photoshop i pirated hehe

2016 → i graduated this year!! and promptly fell deeper into my depression. this was the year that it got so bad that i had to be medicated. through it all, this blog and moz and ulysses and my fandom friends were with me. and for that i am truly grateful :) this was the year i figured out how to lock transparent pixels so that i could color my lineart lol

2017 → i started hammering out moz's backstory this year i think. there's a lot of sketches of her and her family in my files. i experimented with shading and backgrounds here but that experimentation was pretty short-lived

2018 → i started using references seriously!!!! i did a lot of oc on oc kissing this year, featuring mostly moz and many friend ocs haha

2019 → didn't draw much this year. actually this year was a blur and i can't remember much from it except from it being the year of my terrible no good bad copywriting jobs... anyway i did manage to continue my courier/ulysses brainrot and make this piece, which i'm still proud of

2020 → pandemic time. i spent a lot of time asleep at home and i think this was also the year i started doing commissions?? shoutout to anyone who has ever commissioned me - thank you so much, i truly appreciate it!!

2021 → i switched from my old-ass pirated photoshop to clip studio paint and never looked back. also i did a bunch of commissions for my grandmother's surgery, which failed, and i distracted myself from the sadness by drawing my ocs over and over and playing disco elysium

2022 → by this year, i've got moz down pat and have started vaguely developing other ocs instead. but she's still always at the back of my mind

2023 → i bought new brushes from true grit texture supply and immediately found new favorites that i started using for everything. i tentatively started incorporating background elements in some pieces!

2024 → while it's still too early to say where this year will lead me art-wise, i will say that i started experimenting in realistic paint studio (which i bought in 2021, the same time as clip studio paint) a few days ago and i'm liking the results so far. we'll see!

all in all, these last 10 years have been quite a ride, but i'm glad i stuck around and i'm glad you guys stuck around too!! much much love 💖💖💖

Things I don't like about Nintendo:

Making games impossible to play again (Vimm's Lair getting raided by a bunch of companies including Nintendo, online stores getting shut down by Nintendo, more than one subscription required for some NSO Virtual Consoles like Genesis, N64, and GBA, lack of regional translations and ports, etc.)

Taking down fan creations (fan games, mods, music remixes, gameplay videos, etc.)

Putting limits on the monetization of tournaments featuring their games (https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/63433/~/community-tournament-guidelines)

Shutting down online services for consoles that are still very popular and used frequently (3DS getting shut down recently.)

The Switch and a few of the more recent games on it being not that great (Pokemon especially, I'm pretty sure the Wii ran better and it's almost 17 years old.)

Now I know that Nintendo isn't the only one that does this. Microsoft, Sega, and Sony aren't that great with their older games (though some of those are better than others), but Nintendo is much worse and much more strict. Sega doesn't even make consoles anymore, and modding isn't as popular on PlayStation and Xbox platforms due to it being tricky, but their games that are on PC have had plenty of mods, and the companies have no issue with them. I've heard the Xbox Series X/S isn't too good, same with the PS5, though I haven't noticed whenever I used my friend's consoles, and I have an Xbox 1 and PS4. The consoles are also definitely better than their previous gens, which is hard to say with the Switch (hot take, I prefer the Wii U 💀).

BG3 - How I Make Single Saves with Multiple Tavs on PC (No Mods Required)

Hey hey BG3 buds

So one day when I was very sick and a little bit delirious, I decided to try making a multiplayer save so I could play twins in BG3. I'm a twin who loves twin narratives, and my half-conscious state demanded I bend the laws of reality to see some authentic twin content for some reason. Little did I know my clunky little influenza-fueled experiment would completely change how I play the game, because I haven't made a fresh single-Tav save since...

I've got 2 different methods (one I use more since it just works for me).

Keep in mind I have a relatively beefy PC and I also own 2 Xbox controllers I got for like $27 on Amazon (not proud of that source). So if your PC is already struggling to run this game on the lowest graphics, and/or you don't have the money for 2 controllers you might not otherwise use, this might not be very helpful!

Also keep in mind I have only used these methods to get 2 Tavs/Origins in one playthrough. They can probably get more. I just haven't tested my abilities that far yet.

[TUTORIAL UNDER THE CUT]

METHOD 1 - THE TWO-WINDOW METHOD

I also call this the Two-Instance method. This is the method I started with months ago, and I've struggled to recreate it myself but I also haven't really tried that hard.

For this, all you need is BG3. It helps to have a secondary monitor, but it's not necessary. You might need Mod Manager, but you don't need Mods.

For clarity: I use the word "instance" to refer to the different BG3 windows you will have open.

Load your first instance of BG3 (I don't think you should close your launcher). Go to your settings and make it so it's a smaller window you can drag your mouse off of. This'll make it easy to see both of your instances at once and swap between them.

Load a second instance of BG3 (same thing, don't close that launcher right now). I believe I did this by directly loading the exe from my File Explorer or via the Mod Manager to bypass launching it via Steam. I think the way I did it was I went to Mod Manager, swapped my "profile" from my Steam to "Public" so it wouldn't try opening my Steam instance.

Go to Multiplayer on either instance and start a local closed multiplayer game. Get a multiplayer access code so only people with the code can join your game.

Enter that code in your other instance.

Go through the character creator and start the game on both instances like normal.

Once your Tavs/Durges/Origins have climbed out of their pods, save on your main instance of the game.

Once you've saved, have your second instance quit the game.

If all goes according to plan, your Tavs can now be controlled on one instance, and will follow each other like any other party member!

Fun fact, I didn't figure out the "disconnect your game" bit until I had already recruited Astarion, Gale and Shadowheart the first time I did this. I was playing the game by swapping back and forth every ten steps to keep the party together because I'm a genius.

Don't do that. Disconnect your other run as soon as your characters can be controlled. Good God. Don't be like me. It was so tedious.

You can probably use this method to get up to 4 Tavs in one playthrough if your PC can handle it.

METHOD 2 - THE CONTROLLER METHOD

This is the method I use the most because it's way easier. Like. WAY easier, both on my PC and on my braincells.

This method requires 2 compatible controllers for your PC. I use Xbox controllers because I'm more familiar with the configuration and I have 2 from my streaming days.

Connect both of your controllers to your PC/laptop at the same time.

Open BG3 (only 1 instance) and start a local multiplayer game.

Push A on the first controller to activate it if you didn't already (I always default to keyboard so I wait until I enter this screen to turn on the controller).

Turn on the second controller by pressing A. Accept that controller in-game, putting 2 players total in your multiplayer lobby.

Start the game. You'll now be in a split-screen where both views are visible.

Customize your characters and launch (I usually design the Tavs in a single-player ahead of time so I know what options to pick. In my case, if I take too long, it crashes my game so this is a time-saver. I think this is because of my mods).

Once your Tavs/Durges/Origins are out of their pods, SAVE your game and unplug BOTH controllers. If you only unplug one, it usually changes on of your avatars to keyboard control without going into single-player mode, so I always do both for good measure.

If all goes according to plan, you can now control both like they're companions/avatars! If you use controller, just plug your controller back in.

This method is way faster and way less convoluted, but it also requires the controllers to get it to work as far as my tests have gone.

If you have 4 controllers, you can probably get 4 Tavs in one playthrough.

SO WHY WOULD I WANT 2 AVATARS IN ONE SAVE?

THE UPSIDES

It can make for interesting roleplay opportunities! Having 2 characters that don't have a defined story can be a lot of fun as a player. I like familial relationships between Tavs (my Markolac Twins are my favorite example), but it's also a fun way to get a Durge and a Tav in one run.

Building off the previous point, you can explore more stories and character relationships in one run. You can do two romances in one run, have one Tav hate a certain character and the other really like them, etc - it's a cool way to experience the companions without having to make a fresh save every time you want to explore a certain avenue.

If your Tavs are the first two party slots, you get more chances to hear them react in-world to stuff as you walk around, which is really fun and makes your characters feel more alive.

THE DOWNSIDES

Unless you use the Party Limit Be Gone mod, that's now another slot in your party that cannot be used by a Companion, potentially limiting how many unique interactions you get. This method is compatible with the Party Limit Be Gone, so if you're okay with modding, it's a non-issue.

This is a me-problem, but I already spend like 2 hours every time I load playing dress-up with my Tav. If I have another Tav, that's another 2 hours. No wonder only 1 of my active saves has made it to Act 3.

STUFF YOU SHOULD KNOW

You can't have 2 Durges in one save. Pas possible. That's an Origin character. Tavs, you can have loads of.

If you have a Durge in your party, your Tav and even Hirelings will spout off the Durge walking around lines. It is extremely funny to me.

As far as my understanding goes, 4 Avatars is your cap even if you have Party Limit Be Gone. If you need more custom characters for your roleplay, get some mods and alter some hirelings. I can't attest to how STABLE that'll make your saves, so do that at your own risk.

LEMME KNOW IF YOU WANT ME TO UPDATE THIS WITH VISUAL AIDS OR ANYTHING THAT'LL HELP CLEAR UP ANY CONFUSIONS YOU MIGHT BE HAVING. I made this in like 10 minutes before a meeting.

OK so me personally I've been waiting for this for years. i got my heart broken (twice!) when STALKER two was cancelled. Ressurected. Cancelled.

So yeah I'm sort of hoping this version is like the previous version but just nicer graphics.

Why? Because apart from being buggier than a chicken's lunch, and having entire sections of the game yanked by the famously insane director, it was genre defining.

Volumetric lighting and clouds, steep parallax textures, a live faction system, a working ecosystem, day & night... AND changing weather?

In the later games if it rained, everything got wet... unless it was under shelter, and then it stayed dry.

You had to sleep, eat and drink. Bleeding would kill you, radiation would kill you. The Weather would kill you.

And yet, there were friendly faces around that you could chat to and trade with - not the merchants, just other stalkers. You could make friends, sit and enjoy the sun, listen into a hilarious anecdote.

Also get jumped by a bandit shouting "Cheeki Breeki!".

And it's a game with no levelling. You start at max level. There's no upgrade skills. There's just learning to use what you've got.

And this is where it gets interesting.

Because Fallout New Vegas was based on the play experience of STALKER.

Little bits of the game pop up all over the place.

It was That good!

hi! i'm happy to show you what i use to make content using my little laptop, and i hope this encourages you, because you don't need a high end pc to make great content!

1. video recording: xbox game bar

to record my videos i use the xbox game bar which is available on windows 10 computers, it's free and should already be on your computer

2. video editing: capcut

capcut is a free video editing tool that has many features, i personally use capcut on my laptop to make my videos shorter and to add a few effects here and there. so unless it's for youtube, i don't edit the videos to make them perfect but just to remove most of the unnecessary things i filmed. (i usually have like 40 minutes of footage, and i cut it until it's less than 10 minutes long)

3. exporting the video: google drive

i upload the 10 minute long video on google drive, so i can then open google drive on my ipad and download the video (or in your case it can be your phone if you plan on posting videos with your phone)

4. importing on tiktok

i then usually do the rest of the editing directly on tiktok! it's easier especially if you want to make the music match

Hey 👋

It'll take longer than expected to finish posting my sets, so for those who want to try removing the FX for the photomode or even for performance issues... I don't know if there's a similar workaround for PS and XBox, but on PC you'll need Reshade and Frans Bouma's shader toggler addon. This tutorial goes from downloading the files to setting up your togglers properly.

We can remove almost everything but for the fadeouts specifically, just destroy their protection, pause/enter photomode and, with the addon, cycle through each effect by pressing 1 and 2. When the blur disappears, press 3. Save when you're done and use your chosen shortcut to deactivate/activate.

I'm still fine-tuning mine, but since I made it for Oceanview photos, I found some issues while activating it in other areas, so be careful to not remove all the shadows and other fx with the same toggler. For example, when I used the Oceanview one at the Cinema, it started raining indoors and when I edited the toggler there, it rained at Oceanview. Some of Casey's posters disappeared on external areas and ground and trees were missing while playing with Saga in Bright Falls, so I recommend creating a new toggler for each level/map. 😉

Path of Titans is one of those games that people either seem to love or they hate. There doesn't seem to be a middle ground for most people. For me, I find the game quite enjoyable.

It's one of the few games I actually bought the day it released on console. Even as an adult, I never outgrew my childhood "dinosaur phase" so I was ecstatic when I first found out about it.

The changes and improvements the devs at Alderon Games have made since its release have been astounding, honestly. Yes, there are things that definitely need to be worked on, but overall, it's really not as bad of a game as many people would want others to believe.

Plus, one of my favorite things about it is the cross-platform playability. The game is available on console, PC, Switch, and Mobile so unless you have cross-platform settings turned off, you'll find players from every device in a server. And kudos to those who only play on mobile because I have no idea how they do it. I have tried but I much prefer my Xbox and a controller.

One of my favorite dinos to play is the Amargasaurus. I lovingly refer to mine as the "walking buffet" because it's an instant target when spotted by carnivores. This is as screenshot from a couple nights ago. That Ceratosaurus followed me and let his buddies know where I was. In the end, 3 Ceratosaurus, 1 Sarcosuchus, and 1 Spinosaurus were needed to take down my Amargasaurus. I honestly laughed the entire time because 1) I am terrible at PvP and 2) The Spino was called in for backup because the rest of them couldn't take down my Amargasaurus.

I flew over Impact Crater on my Thalassodromeus, and the Hatzegopteryx was so high up I didn't even know it was there until it nearly knocked me right out of the sky. I flew for my life, but alas, my poor little Thal didn't stand a chance after the initial hit. I had just been passing through to see what was happening in IC because it's always either a bloodbath or everyone is gathered around the pond just chilling.

I don't know what it was with Ceratosaurus players the other night, but I ended up switching from Gondwa to the Panjura map after my Amargasaurus got taken out. I was in the server maybe 5 minutes before this Cerato in the background tried to make a meal out of my Latenivenatrix. They failed after I was able to outrun them, but I give them an A for effort.

Path of Titans is one of those games where people do get frustrated due to how many times they're targeted by other players. Global chat can be full of toxicity and sweaty PvP players. Then there are days where you'll find a large group of players hanging out in Hotspots, just chilling and chatting in global.

I personally don't mind being targeted by other players. It's a PvP game after all where the end goal is literally make it to adulthood then see how long you can last.

Precursor Drone Kiera

Oh Kiera, out of all the childhood crushes I had growing up you are the one I'm surprised I don't get more art off despite the fact that the Jak and Daxter series is still one of my favourite Playstation exclusive franchises. Well, this series and Ratchet and Clank.

Inkling Michael: Wait, what about Crash Bandicoot. That was like THE defining title on the Playstation 1 and you've even admitted you love that series and was even the first video game franchise you played.

I said Playstation EXCLUSIVE franchises! Why would I count a franchise that has been multiplatform since 2001, only the first five games are exclusive to a Playstation system and N.Sane Trilogy was only a PS4 exclusive for a year before going multiplatform anyway as a Playstation Exclusive?

IM: Okay but how do you explain stuff like Bayonetta then where the first game's multiplatform and was even re-released on PS4/Xbox One and PC for it's 10 year anniversary but Bayonetta 2 onwards are only on Nintendo systems?

That's...... complicated because of how no one else other than Nintendo wanted to even publish Bayonetta 2 in the first place... Okay fine, you got me on that one!

Believe it or not, this pic actually has a bit of a backstory behind it's inspiration. I was replaying Jak 2, specifically the PS4 re-release since it had trophy support and I had become a bit of an avid trophy and achievement hunter in the past few years and wanted to add another one of my favourite games to that list of fully Platinumed games especially since I had Platinumed the original Jak and Daxter a few years ago. I... gave up on trying to Platinum Jak 2 after remembering the insane score requirements for some of the optional challenges though and I REALLY didn't want to use the Orb Farming glitch or Debug mode to just get the Platinum instantly. However midway though my playthrough a sudden thought came into my mind relating to the Precursors, the ancient and technologically advanced beings that much Jak and Daxter's world and lore is built around. My though process was basically "Okay but what if the Precursors had hypnosis or fembot technology for controlling hostiles?"

And that's it! That's how this whole idea was spawned! Just a random intrusive thought while playing a game I absolutely adore. I came up with a design, picked who I wanted to be the victim which of course it was going be Kiera (though trust me, I was close to going with Ashelin at one point) and asked Ameer to draw this for my next Fully Detailed Ko Fi reward. And maybe this is just my own childhood love for Kiera talking here, again she was one of my childhood crushes, but this is honestly one of my favourite things I've gotten Ameer to draw for me so far. And finally uploading it for more people to see feels good. Nothing could ruin this night at all.

Ok, it’s cliche but dead parents. Died to smoke inhalation in a workplace accident.

Rona isn’t really all that torn up about it though, she was only like 1 years old when it happened. Though given that she knows smoke killed her parents, the smell of smoke is the only thing that really scares her to the point she can’t handle it. She is a pretty brave little cookie otherwise.

Currently, Rona lives with her Aunt Karen. Despite the name, Karen is actually a pretty cool person. Very confidant and genuinely self-assured without needing to put others down. She’s a big part of why Rona herself is so fearless.

Karen didn’t ask for a kid, and really wants to focus on her career. She's an ambitious woman. But she did not want her niece abandoned to the foster system and took her in. She tries very hard to make sure to not let herself get resentful or blame Rona for making things harder. And she is pretty well off despite functionally being a single mother, given how far she had already gotten up the corporate ladder before she took Rona in. She ensures that her and Rona have a solid hour of uninterrupted together time every Sunday after going out for lunch.

However, Karen does work A Lot, for long hours, tending to leave Rona alone more than she should. And the usual babysitter often spends hours playing on the Xbox. So Rona the Explorer has spent a rather alarming amount of time sneaking out of the house to go play in the woods near her house. Though, to her kid logic, nobody has told her Not To so she isn’t breaking any rules. And Nobody will tell her Not To if they don’t know she is doing it!

Rona also has a tutor, Miss Evans, who she looks up to a lot. Rona is actually very smart and advanced for her age, a trait I initially gave her so I could handwave her ability to use a PC and write/read/comprehend as well as she does. Miss Evans basically is basically doing some school stuff early with her.

You do recall that she responded to Sonny when he talked in binary? That wasn’t just plot, Rona did recognize it as some sort of code (even if she didn’t know what binary is) and copy-pasted the whole thing into a search bar, XD. What can I say, she likes puzzles! Has even invented her own code for pretending to explore ancient ruins of lost civilizations, though it is just the alphabet shifted forward one place and the letters replaced with symbols she made up.

I will say, she does have the trait of being isolated that I have noticed all my ocs tend to end up with (ah, ahem, don’tlookintothattoodeeply). She has trouble connecting with her peers given some of the developmental disparity. She has a good heart though, and is willing to stand up for other kids who get picked on. So she isn’t disliked, she honestly just gets bored with other kids quickly.

So, you can see why she sees these cartoon computer people who are so very interesting and fun and showing her places she has never seen before and keeps talking to them. She has latched on to Kinito hard. Sam too, since he was the one she saw first. Also because orange is her favorite color lol, she’s still a kid after all. Also, Rona is enamored with Robot Characters, and computer people is kind of adjacent to that.

Yessss! Ok, so. Gamer Rain rambling under the cut just to save space, no warnings. The NSFW stuff is going to be in a different ask lmao.

Rain = computer gamer. Will play console, loves console, but in his heart of hearts he's a PC girlie. Has a whole set up. Duel monitors (at least). Comfy gaming chair that he is usually contorted in. LED keyboard/headset/mouse/desk pad/tower the whole nine). Plays late into the night a lot.

Usually found hunched over his keyboard hissing into the microphone at his teammates, or curled up in his desk chair, one knee up so he can rest his chin on it while he plays (either with an xbox controller or just bent over himself so he can reach the keyboard.) Dew, Aeon, and Aurora watch him play a lot. The others will too sometimes, but usually it's just Rain alone, or him and one other person who is sprawled out behind him on his bed. Eating snacks and telling him to: holy shit look out there's one right behind you.

I think Rain also plays games with the others in the common room pretty frequently.. I think they have basically every console known to man. And they play a good mix of story-based and mission-based games together. ( Dew and Rain are very very close to beating Borderlands 3 for probably the fifth time.) Copia bought him a Switch when they first came out and Rain walked around with his nose in it for a month straight. That's his console of choice when they're on tour (loves Breath of the Wild, Graveyard Keeper, Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing, all the things). Alright, some of Rain's favorite game series for solo playing (in my opinion, feel free to add more!) -Dark Souls -Elder Scrolls -Resident Evil -Fable (especially 1) -Bioshock And his favorites to play in the common room with his pack: -Overcooked -Borderlands (2 is his favorite, he plays as Zero) -Halo -Diablo -COD but only the older ones. He also loves playing shooters online against people because he's *very* good at them and pissing random people off makes me very happy.
