When God Gives You Up | Tom Ascol [Ro 1:24-32] LGBTQ+ꓺACDEFHIJKMNOPRSUVWXYZ
𝗚𝗢𝗗 𝘀𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗠𝗬 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗠𝗬 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀
You are not beyond GOD's grace, even when GOD gives them over to this way of thinking & living. Listen to what the Apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11.
These are some of the most hopeful verses in the Bible, when we are thinking of GOD giving people & societies up to judgment, granting them their desires to desire their own sexual suicide.
Listen to what he says in v.9-11
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 | Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the Kingdom of GOD? Do not be deceived:
Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who submit to or perform homosexual acts, ¹⁰ nor thieves, nor greedy, nor drunkards, nor verbal abusers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of GOD.
¹¹ And that is what some of you were. But you're washed, you were sanctified, you were justified, in the Name of the LORD JESUS CHRIST & by the SPIRIT of our GOD.
Sounds like being given over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh so his spirit may be saved [1 Corinthians 5:5] & similar to communion some of you have fallen asleep [1 Corinthians 11:30]
1 Corinthians 5:5 | ⁵ hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the Day of the LORD.
1 Corinthians 11:30 | ³⁰ That is why many among you are weak & sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep.
We need to pray against the greed of man

Blessed Are the Forgiven
A Maskil of David.
1 Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. 2 Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.
3 For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. 4 For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer. Selah
5 I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah
6 Therefore let everyone who is godly offer prayer to you at a time when you may be found; surely in the rush of great waters, they shall not reach him. 7 You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with shouts of deliverance. Selah
8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. 9 Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding, which must be curbed with bit and bridle, or it will not stay near you.
10 Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the Lord. 11 Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart! — Psalm 32 | English Standard Version (ESV) The Holy Bible, English Standard Version. Saturday, March 30, 2024
It felt weird doing school work on a Saturday, but I have done it before. I featured more of the yummy candy I received in the photo. I have eaten a little of it already, but I think it's going to last me several weeks, if not a couple of months. I do not eat candy much at all, which is strange because I love things that are sweet! Still, it's nice to have a treat at the end of the study day. I don't agree with giving food as a reward, but it feels that way, even though I would still eat it whether I finished all of my studying or not.

You're Not Disqualified
MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK
=========================
+ 1 Corinthians 6:14 And God raised the Lord and will also raise us up by his power.
=========================
VERSE OF THE DAY
========================
+ Proverbs 30:12 There are those who are clean in their own eyes but are not washed of their filth
=========================
SUBJECT: You're Not Disqualified
=========================
** SAY THIS BEFORE YOU READ; HERE’S SOME CHRISTIAN TRUTHS **
I AM FORGIVEN
I AM QUALIFIED
I AM LOOKING FOR MORE
I AM A CHILD OF THE KING
========================
READ TIME : 8 Minutes & 30 Seconds
========================
THOUGHTS:
=======================
      Many things will disqualify us from getting certain things, like a credit card. We have to have the correct credit score and good payment history; playing on a sports team, we must know how to play that particular sport, be an asset to the team, maybe even previously played on a team, or be competitive, and even when we get a job we must have experience working on a job similar to the one you're trying to get hired for that’s what qualifies a person well sometimes .
   These things qualify you, and sometimes we aren’t qualified. It is frustrating because we try hard to mark off everything required to do something’s; and sometimes, we make it, and sometimes, we don’t. Still, with God, we don’t have to be qualified to be loved by him. We don’t have to be qualified to be spirit-led; we often think God disqualifies us when we sin, and he doesn’t. God wants to ensure that we are ready for our calling. He wants to ensure we are ready to go to the next level.
    Look at Peter. You would think Jesus would have done away with Peter the moment he lied and left him high and dry; you would think Jesus would have said no, not Peter.  Most people would’ve never let Peter back into their lives, but what Jesus did was he qualified him because he knew what Peter had on the inside; he knew who Peter was because Peter was his own; a lot of times, people and places DON’T know us they have to get to know us, but with Jesus, we don’t have to wait, we don’t have to put on a show we just have to be who we are and that’s what qualifies us.
  Luke 22:60-62 But Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you are talking about.” And immediately, while he was still speaking, the rooster crowed. 61 And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the saying of the Lord, how he had said to him, “Before the rooster crows today, you will deny me three times.” 62 And he went out and wept bitterly.
     Jesus doesn’t look at our mistakes and hold them over our heads. No, he doesn’t, not at all. We might have that feeling, but that’s not what happens. Jesus wants us to come to him so that we can be forgiven; a lot of us hold on to sin or won't ask for forgiveness because we feel we don’t have to, but sometimes, not asking for forgiveness can cause our blessing to be held back or our relationship with Him not to grow because we disqualify ourself by not asking for forgiveness.
    2 Samuel 11:2 One evening, David got up from his bed and walked around on the palace's roof. From the roof, he saw a woman bathing. The woman was very beautiful.
     David knew what he shouldn’t be doing, which was looking upon a woman on his roof; he knew what his intention was and what he wanted, but did this disqualify him from being king? No, it didn’t; David even counted the men after he was told not to. Did this disqualify him? No, it didn’t; our sins aren’t what disqualifies us; it's what we do about the sin we are committing. Do we have a contrite heart or allow it to linger? See, these two men didn’t allow what their sins to linger . Well , David did it briefly, and Nathan had to come to show him the punishment God had given him, BUT HE WASN’T DISQUALIFIED
     Now, I’m not saying we won't get punished; it's not to say we won't feel the guilt of what we did, but what we must do when we have identified a sin in our life that we can't let go of we must go to God & ask forgiveness and then fast, a lot of people don’t want to fast because they don’t want to sacrifice to get closer to God, friends to live in the power of God we must fast, the moment I had a woman of God to explain to me the importance of fasting I started fasting more. I started to walk in more power because I didn’t let food or anything be a master over me.
  Look at Nineveh; they were told about their wrong doings and everyone was on a fast, and no one could eat, including the animals; they thought if we all fasted this way, maybe God would relent his hand over us. We must be extreme about our life with Christ or our relationship with Christ; some people think we DON’T have to be extreme, but to walk in the authority of God, we must show God how important he is to us.
  Jonah 3:7-9 This is the proclamation he issued in Nineveh: By the decree of the king and his nobles: Do not let people or animals, herds or flocks, taste anything; do not let them eat or drink.But let people and animals be covered with sackcloth. Let everyone call urgently on God. Let them give up their evil ways and their violence. Who knows? God may yet relent and with compassion turn from his fierce anger so that we will not perish.”
   We don’t have to worry about God disqualifying us; we DON’T have to worry about God saying no, not Lui, she did this and that, but God wants to say, well, Lui, you did this and that. I still love you, you did that, I still forgive you, you did this, and I still want you as mine; God won’t deny us or throw us to the side, but we push away because we listen to other people about God’s opinions about us and God opinions don’t change we must learn not to let others tell us what God want from us and start going to God ourselves.
  ***Today, we learned that what disqualifies us and we do this on our own, God doesn’t; we must stop looking at other people and look to God; we can get a word from God but some of us think , we need this person or that person but friends ,we don’t need sister so and so to do it or this man of God to do it we can speak to God ourselves, but God doesn’t stop loving us, he doesn’t stop communicating with us , and He most certainly doesn’t leave us to do things on our own.
  Every day, we have an opportunity to pick up our cross; every day, we have opportunities to say, Jesus, I need you. Sometimes God is waiting for us to say something about what’s happening, but sometimes we don’t because we think there’s no way he cares if I’m there or not; it’s a verse In the Bible that says Luke 14:5-6, and when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders nd goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.
  Do you see what he does? He puts the sheep on his shoulders, and he goes home. God wants us to come home; God wants us near him. Some of us are lost because we disqualified ourselves from what we do, but God never said this to us. Today, come back and allow God to comfort you and qualify you. ©Seer~ Prophetess Lee

The Gospel
What It Means to Be a Christian
Being a Christian is more than identifying yourself with a particular religion or affirming a certain value system. Being a Christian means you have embraced what the Bible says about God, mankind, and salvation. Consider the following truths found in the Bible.
God Is Sovereign Creator Contemporary thinking says man is the product of evolution. But the Bible says we were created by a personal God to love, serve, and enjoy endless fellowship with Him. The New Testament reveals it was Jesus Himself who created everything (John 1:3; Colossians 1:16). Therefore, He also owns and rules everything (Psalm 103:19). That means He has authority over our lives and we owe Him absolute allegiance, obedience, and worship.
God Is Holy God is absolutely and perfectly holy (Isaiah 6:3); therefore He cannot commit or approve of evil (James 1:13). God requires holiness of us as well. First Peter 1:16 says, You shall be holy, for I am holy.
Mankind Is Sinful According to Scripture, everyone is guilty of sin: There is no man who does not sin (1 Kings 8:46). That doesn't mean we're incapable of performing acts of human kindness. But we're utterly incapable of understanding, loving, or pleasing God on our own (Romans 3:10-12).
Sin Demands a Penalty God's holiness and justice demand that all sin be punished by eternal death (Ezekiel 18:4; Romans 6:23). That's why simply changing our patterns of behavior can't solve our sin problem or eliminate its consequences.
Jesus Is Lord and Savior Romans 10:9 says, If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. Even though God's justice demands death for sin, His love has provided a Savior who paid the penalty and died for sinners (1 Peter 3:18). Christ's death satisfied the demands of God's justice, and Christ's perfect life satisfied the demands of God's holiness (2 Corinthians 5:21), thereby enabling Him to forgive and save those who place their faith in Him (Romans 3:26).
The Character of Saving Faith True faith is always accompanied by repentance from sin. Repentance is agreeing with God that you are sinful, confessing your sins to Him, and making a conscious choice to turn from sin (Luke 13:3, 5; 1 Thessalonians 1:9), pursue Christ (Matthew 11: 28-30; John 17:3), and obey Him (1 John 2:3). It isn't enough to believe certain facts about Christ. Even Satan and his demons believe in the true God (James 2:19), but they don't love and obey Him. True saving faith always responds in obedience (Ephesians 2:10).

🤷‍♀️ Therefore lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but rather be healed. Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭12‬-‭14‬‬
Thayer's Greek Lexicon
STRONGS NT 38: ἁγιασμός
ἁγιασμός, (οῦ, ὁ, a word used only by Biblical and ecclesiastical writings (for in Diodorus 4, 39; Dionysius Halicarnassus 1, 21, ἁγισμός is the more correct reading), signifying:
1. consecration, purification, τό ἁγιάζειν.
2. the effect of consecration: sanctification of heart and life, 1 Corinthians 1:30 (Christ is he to whom we are indebted for sanctification); 1 Thessalonians 4:7; Romans 6:19, 22; 1 Timothy 2:15; Hebrews 12:14; ἁγιασμός πνεύματος sanctification wrought by the Holy Spirit, 2 Thessalonians 2:13; 1 Peter 1:2. It is opposed to lust in 1 Thessalonians 4:3f. (It is used in a ritual sense, Judges 17:3 (Alexandrian LXX); Ezekiel 45:4; (Amos 2:11); Sir. 7:31, etc.) (On its use in the N. T. cf. Ellicott on 1 Thessalonians 4:3; 1 Thessalonians 3:13.)

wait a second: communion is meant to have personal meaning? I'm Lutheran and it might just be because growing up my second pastor only gave 1 to 1.5 hour sermons (the second service usually ran late since the first was usually 2 to 2.5 hours) but communion always felt like just words. my first pastor (who was actually the first pastor at the church itself and his longest sermons were 30 minutes) was the main influence on my faith now but it didn't really feel like there was an emphasis on communion.
this pastor unfortunately had a heart attack around the middle of service just before his sermon one day. I think it would have made sense if my church later placed less of an emphasis on communion because of how much we all loved pastor and so many of us saw him collapse but that didn't happen.
the blood we had then was apparently awful (my mother was raised Catholic and once poured her church's supply down the drain since it tasted so bad and remarked that she wished she had done it once or twice to my church's as well) and conceptually I understand the meaning behind communion but it's not normal to think of it as just a part of service like closing all the doors to block out the road or grabbing the book of hymns from the pews?
it is indeed meant to have personal meaning! there's the verses in 1 Corinthians 11, verses 23-32:
For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way also the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord.  Let a man examine himself, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For any one who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment upon himself. That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some have died. But if we judged ourselves truly, we should not be judged. But when we are judged by the Lord, we are chastened so that we may not be condemned along with the world.
at least, that's how I'd interpret that - 'let a man examine himself' &c. we're meant to try and 'judge ourselves truly' and that.
I'm so sorry to hear about your pastor also.
it's not normal to think of it as just a part of service like closing all the doors to block out the road or grabbing the book of hymns from the pews?
no, I don't believe that's how it's intended. I feel like there are other verses I could pull up to discuss this matter further but I can't remember rn. feel free to ask further questions on anon or not, and anyone feel free to chip in and add smth!

VENERABLER ISAAC, DALMATIUS AND FAUSTUS ASCETICS OF THE DALMATIEN MONASTERY, CONSTANTINOPLE (5 th.c.)
Tumblr media
Saint Isaac (May 30) was a soldier before he became a monk. After he was tonsured, he attained such a degree of spiritual perfection that he was accounted worthy of beholding divine visions.
When Saint Isaac heard about how the Emperor Valens had fallen into the Arian heresy and was persecuting the Orthodox Christians, he left his monastery and traveled to Constantinople to confront the emperor. At that time Valens was planning a campaign against the Goths. Saint Isaac tried to change the emperor’s mind several times, but was unable to convince him. He prophesied that Valens would die in flames because of his actions. The emperor ordered that Saint Isaac be thrown into prison, and promised to deal with him when he returned from his expedition. On August 9, 378 Valens was defeated at Adrianople and died in a fire after hiding in a barn, just as the saint had predicted.
Emperor Theodosius the Great, who had a great love for the saint, released him from prison and banned Arianism. Saint Isaac attended the Second Ecumenical Council (381), where he defended the Orthodox Faith against the Arian heresy.
Saint Isaac hoped to return to his monastic life in the wilderness, but a wealthy man built a monastery for him at Constantinople, and he became its first igumen. The monastery was later named for his disciple Dalmatus.
His son Faustus supported his father in everything and, after a godly life, died peacefully in that community.
HOLY MYRRH-BEARER SALOME
Tumblr media
Saint Salome (Salómē) was the first cousin of the Virgin Mary, the mother of our Lord Jesus Christ. She was the wife of Zebedee and the mother of James (April 30) and John (September 26). She was one of the women who followed Christ and ministered to Him from their own means, even until His Crucifixion and Burial. On the third day they went to the tomb to anoint His body, they did not lose their faith in Him, nor did they fear the Jewish rulers.
It was Salome who asked the Lord to let her two sons sit, one at His right hand, and one at His left (Matthew 20:20-21), for she thought that Jesus was about to restore the throne of David at Jerusalem. During the Lord's Passion, when His disciples and friends hid themselves from fear, Salome and the other faithful women remained by the Cross, beating their breasts in sorrow (Matthew 27:55-56; Mark 15:40; Mark 16:1-8).
Salome was also one of the Myrrhbearering women to whom the Angel revealed Christ's Resurrection. After the Descent of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, Salómē continued to distinguish herself by her zeal and her almsgiving.
The persecution of the Jerusalem Church caused Salome great sorrow. Her final heartbreak was when Herod beheaded her eldest son James (Acts 12:2). But Christ strengthened her, and in the hope of resurrection to everlasting life, she surrendered her soul in peace.

 1 CORINTHIANS 11:8-22
8 For man is not from woman, but woman from man. 9 Nor was man created for the woman, but woman for the man. 10 For this reason the woman ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels. 11 Nevertheless, neither is man independent of woman, nor woman independent of man, in the Lord. 12 For as woman came from man, even so man also comes through woman; but all things are from God. 13 Judge among yourselves. Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? 14 Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him? 15 But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her; for her hair is given to her for a covering. 16 But if anyone seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, nor do the churches of God. 17 Now in giving these instructions I do not praise you, since you come together not for the better but for the worse. 18 For first of all, when you come together as a church, I hear that there are divisions among you, and in part I believe it. 19 For there must also be factions among you, that those who are approved may be recognized among you. 20 Therefore when you come together in one place, it is not to eat the Lord's Supper. 21 For in eating, each one takes his own supper ahead of others; and one is hungry and another is drunk. 22 What! Do you not have houses to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the church of God and shame those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you in this? I do not praise you.
MATTHEW 17:10-18
10 And His disciples asked Him, saying, "Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?" 11 Jesus answered and said to them, "Indeed, Elijah is coming first and will restore all things. 12 But I say to you that Elijah has come already, and they did not know him but did to him whatever they wished. Likewise the Son of Man is also about to suffer at their hands. 13 Then the disciples understood that He spoke to them of John the Baptist. 14 And when they had come to the multitude, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying, 15 Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. 16 So I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him. 17 Then Jesus answered and said, "O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me." 18 And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour.

The Light of the Gospel
1 Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. 2 Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God. 3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5 For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,”[ made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.
7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 10 We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. 11 For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body. 12 So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.
13 It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.” Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak, 14 because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself. 15 All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.
16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. — 2 Corinthians 4 | New International Version (NIV) Holy Bible, New International Version®, NIV® Copyright ©1973, 1978, 1984, 2011 by Biblica, Inc.® All rights reserved worldwide. I was not sure if this was going to get posted tonight or not. The internet has been acting funny, and I think it's a DNS problem since the speed is nearing 100 Gbps, and it was any website loading that was timing out. I changed the DNS, and that seems to have helped. I wonder what is causing it to act up.
Today was good, long but good. I had trouble sleeping last night. Insomnia periods are not fun, so I hope I am not slipping into one again. Every now and then I will wake up in the middle of the night and not be able to get back to sleep for another hour, which is not good because normally I would get 8.5 hours of sleep without that. With that, that sleep time drops to about 6 hours! That is not healthy!
Saying of such, I am going to get ready for bed now. Pray that I can sleep well!
P.S. If you look at my biology section below, you will see a link to a YT video on the video I had to watch for Bio today. It is informational but quite disturbing at the same time. You have to watch it to the end. If you are looking for something that will make you go "what just happened?", I recommend watching it. If you know anything about that particular organism, you will understand it, but it is still questionable.
