KYP just hit 30,000. Very crazy. Kind of surreal. And I find myself realizing that people have taken countless hours to read something I’ve created. That is an insane honor to have. It’s easy to get caught up in the numbers when you’re watching them climb every day and not seeing a growth you want. But just remembering there’s a person behind each read.... it puts a lot into perspective. Appreciate all of the time people have invested in this story <3

back in early March, youngest daughter’s bf was in an auto accident and totaled his car.  she tried to help him find a new vehicle by bringing him to our house for the weekend so they could look at vehicles.  they didn’t find what he wanted, but they did find a nice truck.  she asked me if i would finance the truck for him and i foolishly agreed, since she indicated that they were discussing marriage.  i paid cash for the truck out of my savings.  about 2 weeks later, she finds out that he was cheating on her.  then the finance deal was off, but COVID had set in and he couldn’t get a loan.  fast forward to today, he got a loan and we got a cashier’s check for the vehicle and we are no longer in the finance business.  also, in that time, the young lady he was cheating with is pregnant and due any day now.  he hasn’t made good decisions and i am thankful that i am no longer associated with him in any way whatsoever.

Neon lights. Neon signs. Bowling balls. Falling pins.

There's something nostalgic about bowling alleys; something that reminds me of when we were teens. Zac, Apollo, and I (along with the other band members we've had and lost along the way). The sound of the pins falling down, or the bowling balls rolling through the wooden floors. The smell of freshly cooked cheesy fries and burgers. The sound of our laughter as we get lost in the moment while we played.

We were just teens making music in the basement every day then every Saturday, we'll head to the arcade or to the bowling alley and we'll play games like the kids we were. Everything changed once we were signed into our first record label; suddenly we can't play too much anymore, suddenly we were on the road – in a tour bus with little to no supervision. Suddenly we have to grow up, not that it's different than what I was used to.

I missed this. Being able to breathe and re-calibrate our heads. Playing like we used to. It's fun. It's freeing. Like I don't really care what happens next.

[Apollo's been stressing with the crane games though.]
