My confidence in Canon’s off leash reliability has grown so much over the past year, as has my gut instinct. This past weekend I took him to my grandmother’s, where there’s a large open field next to her place. Something in me was say, “not here. do not let him off lead here.” Not sure what or why exactly. Maybe because he’s been so amped and scatterbrained, I’m not sure. So we went to a flying field, one that’s secluded, in the middle of nowhere, and empty. No one but my family was around, so I had a much stronger trust in him there.

He's the first dog I’ve had that I could ever trust off leash. But only on private land, I’m against off leash adventures in leash-required, public areas. But with Scamp, he had the bond to stay close, but also the prey drive to bolt. Rooney, he doesn’t care... and will spook easily, so it’s a horrible idea to allow him loose.

Any who, we worked on dumbbell retrieval down there, as the land is flat compared to our hilly, sloping yard. I didn’t work on the front positioning at all, didn’t ask for it once. I think that alone helped greatly with his desire to retrieve quickly (ball reward on the return, duh!). There were a couple moments where he ran out, over the crate, around the dumbbell, then back and over the crate (second time he ran around the camera). Guess he thought we were suddenly doing “fly”?

Honestly, this outing wasn’t dedicated to training, but rather photos. I needed training photos, and could have easily done it at home - but there’s no fun, beauty, or confidence boosting in that. My pride in him and our bond is continuously growing in this area ♡

I ran into an ex-boyfriend yesterday. He broke up with me in january and boy did I suffer then. It took me a few months to get over it (i’m fine now) and I haven’t saw him since. Anyways, I was walking around town yesterday and I saw him from across the street. I always thought that I would feel something if I ever see him again and, honestly, I only felt like laughing haha! And believe me, I’m not a douche that goes around laughing at people. But he looked so weird. He smokes now and he has this ugly beard where he only shaves the mustache area. He literally looks like Mose from “The Office” lol

Luckily he didn’t saw me, so I didn’t have to talk to him while trying to keep a straight face hahah! Anyway, I know it sound mean but this person really hurt me in the past and I think it’s a relief to know that I have no feelings for him anymore. 

So I think that’s the message here. You’ll hurt and you’ll cry. But sooner or later, you’re gonna get over it. And when you realize you’re really over it, you’ll just tilt head back and laugh at the past.

I need calmness. Serenity. I have it in small moments but if I could start to have minutes of it that would be amazing. Gradually make it to having hours of it. Then days. Then weeks. Then months , Then years, Then a joyous lifetime of simplicity. I want to listen to music, have an experience with the sounds and words. I don’t even need drugs to do so. The drug of choice would be silence. Stillness , to be wrapped in the love of euphoric vibration. To be the epitome of joy. I lust for it. I miss it. I’ll be with it soon. I can taste it. I want my lover there too. Hopefully she can calm her mind as well and indulge in the universal love. Detach from it all and get lost and run with me in music or stillness. Rest under the tree of life and reap the knowledge fruit that falls. Seek the harvest of enlightenment with me because it’s so nourishful. That’s all I need. Blissful still with my love.
