31st March 2021 / PEST Nightclub, late morning

Deep down the corridors of an empty PEST nightclub, past many a door and sign of 'Employees Only', Nadia sat in the storage room she'd long since appropriated and claimed as her only little back alley underground clinic. She had an office at Silver Crest, sure, but in her mind you couldn't always just waltz into the hospital with many a gang war wound without suspicion. The room held an eclectic bunch of standard medical equipment, far from the clinical and sterile environment of the hospital, but still clean and well stocked for under the table patch jobs. Its a place she has no qualm in kicking back with her boots propped against the edge of her desk, some choice leisure reading in hand. 

That morning at the change of shifts at the hospital, she'd taken a quick trip down to the lower levels of the hospital, down to the records room the Morgue used. It'd taken a little bit of time to find the appropriate box, weeks and months back in records, but she'd found it. The report from the so called autopsy from Jack's, apparently, faked death. (The rat bastard.) 

(She’d resolutely walked past the doors of the Morgue’s examining room, knowing just who she’d find in there this time.)

She had her nose deep in the papers, furious with herself for not seeing that it had been a fake, trying just somehow to see if the notes could have told her if she’d been looking, that there had been any clue or indication that it hadn't been Jack on the table. There was something vexing about the way Death had managed to produce a body double decent enough to fool her and the attending examiner and she couldn't help but wonder just how they'd done it. She had half a mind to go strong arm an angel with a bit of muscle and a shovel to go liberate a coffin to see for herself. Bones did a lot of talking these days. 

The creek of the 'office' door is loud in the relative, strange silence of the club, the lack of muffled base lines thrusting through the floor. "You better be dying or have a bribe in hand, I'm dreadfully busy," Nadia says, drolly, not bothering to look up from the chart in her hands.

President Joe Biden said Wednesday that he would strongly support Major League Baseball moving its All-Star Game from Atlanta after Georgia enacted new voting restrictions that disproportionately target Black residents.

“I think today’s professional athletes are acting incredibly responsibly. I would strongly support them doing that,” Biden said in an interview with EPSN SportsCenter host Sage Steele. “People look to them. They’re leaders.”

In his interview Wednesday, Biden pointed to athletes fueling political change, specifically in the National Basketball Association. And such a move would not be the first in sports history. In 2017, the NBA moved its All-Star Game out of Charlotte, North Carolina, after the state legislature passed a bill discriminating against transgender people.

“The very people who are victimized the most are the people who are leaders in these very sports,” Biden told ESPN. “And it’s just not right. This is Jim Crow on steroids, what they’re doing there in Georgia and 40 other states.”

President Joe Biden went on ESPN’s SportsCenter last night to discuss the impact of politics and sports, and he would strongly back moving the 2021 MLB All-Star Game out of Georgia in the wake of SB202′s passage.

For some of y'all, this most recent Full Moon in Libra has marked the exposure of a painful truth, a complete gamechanger that may have left you unsure of how to proceed with a situation.

While this new information signifies the end of one cycle, there is a fear of letting go and moving on. Regardless of how things may have served you in the past, it is important to recognize that as we grow and learn, so must we adjust our way of coping and moving through life, and sometimes that means adjusting old ways of thinking, old habits, old behaviors that keep us from starting the next chapter of our lives. In order to move forward, listen to your emotions, allow yourself to feel what you feel and find healthy ways to address that -- so often we try to shove down any negative feeling and deny its existence, and this is precisely what is keeping you tethered to the situation. It is okay to grieve the end of something that was important to you, even if it was holding you back, even if the loss of it has made room for bigger and better things. What has this situation taught you? How can you apply that knowledge going forward? Also remember that you are not an island. Three of your cups may have spilled over, but two are still standing.
