hi! i have an idea ive been thinking about for a while. spencer and the team (plus reader) are at a bar and reader goes off to get a drink/dance/talk to someone and either a girl or a group of girls come up to spencer and start flirting with him. the first thing she/they ask ofc is "do you have a girlfriend?" and spencer (not realizing they are flirting) is like yes!!! her name is _____ and she is amazing and i love her so much.... and he goes on like a 20 minute rant about reader. reader finally finds him talking to these girls/girl and has to recuse them/her from his ranting about herself and explain what they actually meant.
sorry that was a lot but i wanted to make sure understood what i was envisioning. thank you so much!!!
“Spence, please!”
Spencer kept pulling you closer as he tried to nuzzle his way into your neck and leave a few kisses behind your ear. He wasn’t one for PDA, but after a few shots he was puddy in your hands and everyone had to witness what a mess you made of him in this state.
“I just wanna be close to you,” you could feel him pout as his lips were pressed against your neck, his thumbs rubbing over your waist.
“Looks like you’re not getting out of here anytime soon, huh pretty girl?”
Derek chuckled as he took pleasure seeing his younger brother of a coworker finally have a girlfriend, especially with how clingy he was being at the moment. It was as if Spencer would follow you if you were to leave for only a minute, which he had done approximately half an hour ago when you excused yourself to go to the bathroom and somehow he still had enough brainpower to talk about how hand-dryers could actually spread more germs and not remove them. He’d even taken it upon himself to take some paper towels and dry your hands for you, making sure to even dry the spaces between your fingers.
You had had only one drink and you were not going home unless you had a second one. Spencer had already downed three in that time, and looking at the state that he was in, it was obvious that he wasn’t going to get served any more tonight.
“Spence, I'm going to get a quick drink, okay? Stay here.”
Prying his hands off of you, you quickly slipped out of Spencer’s grasp before he managed to put his hands on your waist again.
A few minutes later, Penelope pulls Derek to the dance floor while Emily comes across an old friend and excuses herself to have a word with her, leaving Spencer all by himself at the booth, his tongue sticking out from the side of his mouth while fidgeting with his fingers. He was too deep in thought that he didn’t notice a group of girls come over and sit next to him, their intentions clearly not innocent.
“Hi! You’re here all alone?”
“Oh, I’m not! I’m here with my girlfriend and team mates!”
“I don’t see any girlfriend around.”
“She went to get a drink. Oh, she loves an aperol spritz, she’s got great taste, in general not just in drinks.”
The girls watched in amazement as Spencer kept talking about every small thing he could come up with about you, from your favorite color and the psychological meaning behind it to your Myers Briggs personality type and how you’re both compatible.
As the endless line at the bar finally came to an end and you managed to get your drink, walking back to the team’s spot you noticed the unfamiliar girls surrounding Spencer and your stomach churned in nerves. The closer you got however you noticed their bored and confused faces and that’s all you needed to know that Spencer had most probably pulled his book smarts out on them and left them speechless.
“Oh and this one time- Y/N, you’re back!”
Spencer pulled you in for a hug, nearly knocking the drink out of your hands. Managing to put it down on the table, you rested your hand on his back as you turned your attention to the strangers, them clearly on the edges of their seats and ready to bolt at any moment.
“We’re gonna go, nice to meet you both.”
Your eyes followed them as they quickly got up and made their way to the other side of the bar, even from a distance you could see the red hue on their cheeks, embarrassment written all over their faces.
“Spence, what did they want?”
“They came over and asked if I had a girlfriend.”
“That’s it?”
Spencer nodded as he nuzzled into your stomach, “And I talked about how great you are and how I’m going to marry you one day.”
Laughter erupted from your mouth as you heard the answer, also because of Spencer’s fingers practically digging into your sides that it was tickling you.
“Sweetie, I don’t think that’s what they meant by that.”
“What do you mean?”
“Usually when someone asks “Do you have a girlfriend/boyfriend?”, it’s their way of asking “Are you single?”
Spencer blinked his eyes, your words not yet registering in his head.
“They were flirting with you.”
“Oh… really?”
Nodding along, the conversation was put on halt as everyone made their way back to the table.
“You guys had to leave him alone, huh?”
“Why? What happened?”
“Some girls came up to Spencer and tried to hit on him.”
“Oh, pretty boy’s got game now, huh?”
The team chuckled, but Spencer kept burrowing his head more into your embrace. It was clear that no matter how many girls tried their luck with him it would inevitably fail, as you were his home that he would come back to every time.

——WITHIN THRITY MINUTES, you're back in Gojo's company. Shoko wasn't home when you got to your apartment so there was no one for you to rant to and you were left still pissed off because of Gojo.
Actually, even if Shoko was home, it's not like she knows anything about the list. And you're not sure if you even want her to know anything about the list. It'd be too embarrassing to explain to her how you got yourself in this position so, you really have no plans on doing so.
The most your roommate knows is that last night you went out on a date. She doesn't know that it's Geto you went on a date with, or that you've slept with both of her friends and you'd like to keep it that way for the time being. There's way too much to explain for you to talk to her.
So ultimately, that leaves you alone in your situation. You have no one to talk to about this, no one to cry to about how Gojo is nothing more than a manipulative dickhead, and no one to release the buildup of emotions he's just given you.
The worst part of it all is that you were starting to put the blackmailing aside. You were starting to even like the idea of playing this little game with Gojo where you have to sleep with some hot guys and get paid for it. But when Gojo reminds you that you don't have the luxury of being comfortable in your situation, you just go right back to disliking him.
When the man showed up at your door to take you with him to his class, you barely exchanged any words. Gojo carefully explained the things his professor was attracted to, saying how he seemed like the kinda guy to be into a woman who looks like she needs help but is actually smart.
You asked Gojo what kinda clothes you should wear, resulting in you wearing a short skirt with stockings that hugged your thighs nicely. You felt a little uncomfortable in it, especially with Gojo's eyes all over you as if he you and him didn't just argue with one another minutes ago.
"Stop staring, you don't have that privilege anymore." You spat out to him as you adjusted the buttons on the shirt you wore.
Gojo's at your room door, leaning against the frame like always. "Come stop me from staring." He blurts out.
He's so used to flirting with you that he couldn't even help himself.
You send him a glare, "You're making things worse, y'know."
He knows. But he doesn't know how to fix it and still get what he wants at the same time. "I'm sorry-"
"Don't." You say simply.
Gojo falls quiet, watching as you move away from the mirror and over to your dresser to spray perfume on yourself. The scent makes its way into his nose and he has to bite back the compliment he nearly gives you.
After that, you put some shoes on and walked over to Gojo, looking up at the man with distaste in your eyes. For a minute, he simply peers down at you.
"...Can you please move?" You sigh tiredly.
Gojo doesn't budge. "Can you hear me out for a minute?"
You can't even believe the audacity of this man. "No."
"Please?"
"What is there to hear out? If I don't do this, you'll expose me. What else is there for you to say?" You ask.
He doesn't even know the answer to that question himself. "It's not what you think it is," Gojo says in the softest voice he can manage.
"Yeah?" You scoff, moving to fold your arms at him. "So what is it then, Gojo?"
"I just..." He trails off for a long moment.
You watch as he glances back and forth between your eyes, clearly having no words for you. You can see the clear regret in his eyes but you ignore it completely-- refusing to let yourself be manipulated by any of his looks.
Slowly, you lean closer to him. "You just what? Spit it out." You urge.
He swallows but remains silent, which leads you to roll your eyes at him. You then shake your head and move him to the side, stepping past him and exiting your bedroom.
"That's what the hell I thought. Now let's go." You say with a sigh.
Gojo's behind you cursing at himself for being unable to tell you the truth.
He's so scared that you'll never help him without the blackmail and, well, he has every right to be because you're pretty sure that if it weren't for those videos he has over your head, you wouldn't be doing any of this.
. . • ☆ . ° .• °:. *₊ ° . ☆ . . • ☆ . ° .• °:. *₊ ° . ☆
The walk to his class isn't long once the two of you get onto campus. It was on the third floor, in a section of the school you don't typically go down. You're not sure if you imagine it but you swear that every person you pass in the halls is insanely attractive.
The men, the women, literally all of them. For a moment you wonder if you're in the fashion department of your school based on the looks of those around you. It makes you wonder what Gojo's major is for a second, realizing you never actually asked him.
Your lips part to do so but... what's the point? You no longer care about getting to know the man anymore. Knowing his major won't help you complete this list any faster so, you end up closing your mouth and keeping quiet as you follow him.
When you get to the class, you notice that most of the room is full and Gojo is within the last group of people to arrive.
You're behind the white-haired man so, his professor lays eyes on him before you. You try to appear as inconspicuous as possible and thanks to the department of attractive and well-put-together people surrounding you, you don't stand out much.
Gojo makes a left to head up the stairs toward, what you assume to be, his seat, and you make sudden and direct eye contact with a tall, overly muscular man you swear isn't the professor.
Oh, there's no way in hell that this dark-haired man with a scar on the right corner of his lips is teaching this class. You refuse to believe that the man standing not too far away from you in a button up shirt that looks like it's seconds away from popping off him, is the damn professor.
Surely, you'd expected the blond man you saw in those pictures Gojo showed you to be a teacher. Definitely not this guy.
Those brown, maybe green, eyes of his skim over your entire body in one quick motion, an eyebrow raising the very second he realizes he's never seen you in his class before. In your hands are a binder and a book that you keep pressed against your chest, slightly fidgeting where you stand with the male's eyes all over you.
You wonder if you should say anything but when the large man looks back down at the papers scattered on his desk in front of him, you get the idea that he doesn't care too much about you being there.
With a sigh, you turn and follow after Gojo, quickly arriving at his seat and sitting beside him. Luckily for you, he's in the very back of the room so you get to sit in the corner with him.
You hadn't planned on learning anything today but, here you are, having no idea what you're getting yourself into.
"Gojo," You whisper and he turns to you. "What subject even is this...?"
"Uh, economics." He hums.
You freeze. "You're joking right?"
"I'm not."
"How the hell am I supposed to explain why I'm here?!" You whisper shout at him.
He shrugs casually, "I dunno."
You scowl. "Of course you don't."
Gojo grimaces at himself for his words, "Okay, well maybe-"
"Nope, save it. I'll figure it out myself." You cut off as you organize the few items you brought with you.
He sighs heavily beside you but you ignore the sound.
The class is steady to begin and your heart increases tenfold in nervousness when the deep baritone voice of the professor hits your ears. It was nothing but a lazy 'afternoon everyone' to greet his students as he went to shut the door but for some reason, it made your nerves spike.
As the professor, whose name you end up figuring out is Mr. Fushiguro, began his lecture, you couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The room was filled with students who so obviously belonged there. You, a psychology major, genuinely have no excuse to be here right now.
Okay, sure, you may have taken an economics class in high school but, that was high school and it was a required course for you at the time. Now, it'll be a bit difficult to explain why you're there.
Luckily for you, you've been in a similar position before. Except, the last time you were in a situation like this, there were real reasons behind it. You had slipped into one of Shoko's classes and attended that class with her for about three weeks straight-- having needed to use the interactions of her class for a report you were working on.
So in this case, you hope you'll be able to do the same thing and pull this off.
With that in mind, you made sure to actually pay attention to the lecture to ensure that you had something to talk about if or when Mr. Fushiguro questions you.
As you did that, Gojo sat beside you unable to pay attention to anything aside from the woman attentively taking notes beside him. He couldn't help but stare at you with his cheek resting against his knuckles, watching the way you were taking real notes on the class.
He gazed at the side of your face, getting lost in his mind as he tried to think of ways to fix things. He wondered if the two of you could just brush over the argument. It's not like he didn't blackmail you before and you guys didn't move on from that.
Or maybe it was just him who'd moved on. Perhaps you're still worried about the situation you were in. It'd only been a few days since it started, not even a full week yet.
Gojo's so busy thinking that he hasn't realized he's still staring at you. When he does realize it though, he doesn't stop. Instead, the male goes on to admire you. This is probably one of the only times he'll get to be near you going forward.
I hate you, the words still echo in his mind. He's so pissed at himself for it. He should've never even done this. Maybe he could've found someone else to go and seduce these people for him, not you-- Gojo likes you.
Wait, he... likes you? Gojo blinks at his own thoughts, wondering if that's what's wrong with him. Maybe that's why he felt these urges to kiss you or be around you or even make you smile and laugh...
He finds himself replaying the events of that morning over and over. It was perfect. To wake up to you kissing him so softly, to have you in his arms all night, and to even bond a little with you without it being about the list.
It was-
"Gojo," You hummed, breaking him out of his mind entirely. Your gaze was down on the paper in front of you as you spoke, "Do you like your eyes?"
His brows pinch together and you hear him scoff a little bit, "Yeah...?"
"Wanna keep 'em?" You question sarcastically.
He blinks, "Uh, yes...?"
You turn your head to him and your voice is low and an agitated whisper, "Then stop fucking staring at me."
Gojo doesn't even look away yet. His eyes remain on yours and the eye contact is intense for a second. He hates to think about it but, you're rather hot when you're mad, as toxic as it is to think about...
The way you're eyes are all narrow and the tenseness of your face is oddly attractive to the man. Under different circumstances, Gojo would've teased you about it like he normally does but, right now, you look like you might stab his eyes out with the pencil in your hands.
Instead of taking the warning you have him seriously, Gojo only grins at you, "Make me." He whispers back, voice teasing.
You glare for a moment, and then you start shaking your head in utter disbelief. "You're an ass."
"An ass?" Gojo chuckles quietly, "What happened to asshole?"
"I might change it to a piece of shit." You say with a shrug as you turn your head away and multi-focus on both him and the lecture.
Gojo tilts his head, "Doesn't that take too long to say?"
"Dickhead." You say simply.
He frowns, "Ehh, doesn't have a nice ring to it."
With a sigh, you glance at him through the corner of your eye, "I'm not gonna play this little game with you."
"Nono, keep going," Gojo pleads, now smiling at you as if he isn't aware that he's only annoying you even more. "I like hearing all the mean names you can come up with."
You roll your eyes at him, "I hope you fail this class."
"Woahh, I need this class to graduate, sweets." He argues, pouting a little bit at your sudden words.
"Enough with the pet names," You sigh. "Hearing anything affectionate coming from you is revolting."
"You liked it this morning."
"That was before you pissed me off."
Gojo smirks, "I do that quite often though, don't I?"
"Yeah, you do."
He hums and inches a little closer to you, "And yet you still hung around me."
"I was forced to." You reply, trying to take notes on the subject ahead at the same time.
"Were you forced to kiss me this morning too?" Gojo says.
That question made you scoff. He definitely pushed all the right buttons with that one, "Were you forced to be born as an insufferable asshole who likes manipulating women into clearing your debt for you?" You question, anger embedded into your tone.
He pauses. The worst part of what you said was that you weren't even looking at him. You said that without batting an eyelash. And it came out your mouth faster than he expected.
Gojo opens his mouth slowly, almost carefully, "I-"
Before he gets the chance to say anything, the abrupt sound of his professor speaking louder is heard. "Gojo Satoru," The professor calls out with an annoyed sigh.
You think you see the hairs on the back of Gojo's neck stand up and you watch as he grits his teeth and turns his head to face his teacher.
"Plan on talkin' through my whole class?" Mr. Fushiguro questions.
Gojo looks immediately annoyed as he shakes his head, the sight of him shut up so quickly almost satisfying to you.
That earns a nod from his professor, "That's what I thought." He hummed, his eyes snapping over to you right afterward.
You swear you were shrinking under the man's gaze, even though he was on the other side of the damn room. It was so intimidating that you just knew he was about to say something to you.
But, he doesn't. It was nothing more than a quick glance, maybe even a warning glance.
You sigh and then peek over to Gojo beside you, noticing how he looks upset now. A smile graces your face as you see the man in distress, it was quite the satisfying sight to behold-- especially given the hell he's putting you through.
. . • ☆ . ° .• °:. *₊ ° . ☆ . . • ☆ . ° .• °:. *₊ ° . ☆
The lecture was a full three hours long, something you surprisingly were able to stay awake for and focus on the entire time.
You have a feeling it was the way Mr. Fushiguro taught the class or maybe it was the way he looks. With a face and body like that, you think you could stay awake and stare for hours unprovoked. That has to be the only plus side to the list you're going through-- the fact that everyone is stupidly hot.
As the class finished, you grabbed all the notes you'd taken and wondered if you should just approach the professor yourself. Gojo waited for you to get your stuff together and then you followed behind him to leave the class.
The halls seemed to be pretty busy with how long it took for students to actually leave the classroom and you ended up waiting for people to walk out. This placed you in the back of the group of people, being one of the last to actually exit.
"You," A deep voice suddenly called from behind.
Your head turns back and you meet the professor's stern eyes. He raises two fingers and beckons you to come to him. With a swallow, you nudged Gojo on the back of his arm, silently letting him know that you were staying behind before you turned and made your way over to the teacher.
As you approached the desk, the man stool on the other side of it, eyes daunting and presence overwhelming. He was far too attractive to be a professor.
"Sir," You greeted calmly, "You called me...?"
His eyes scan all of you in front of his desk. Not in a way that seemed like he was checking you out but, more in the sense that he was confirming he's never seen you before.
He nodded toward a nearby seat, "Sit."
You don't know why your spine goes rigid at his sudden command. Perhaps it was the authority in his voice? Or the deep undeniably attractive tone of it?
Slowly, you move to sit down in the seat he's told you to. After that, you quietly watch as he awaits all the students to leave. Once the classroom is clear, the professor takes a seat at his desk and all of his tension-filled focus goes to you.
You were nervous. Ridiculously so.
And it wasn't even because of the situation itself but because of the sexy-ass man staring at you. Okay, maybe this list isn't that bad... especially if you get to interact with people you normally wouldn't.
The man leans forward, moving to rest his arms on the desk in front of him and clasping his hands together. "Well?" He asks, clearly expecting you to just explain yourself.
You instantly look down to your lap, "Uh..."
When you take too long, in his eyes, to answer, you hear the man sigh heavily. "You gonna tell me why you're in my class?" He questions.
You look up at him and take a deep breath, "Yeah, sorry. I'm a uh, psychology major and I have this project coming up soon where I have to analyze large groups of people, preferably in different classrooms, to see how different goals and aspirations differ the actions of people."
That was by far the best and cleanest lie you think you've ever given in your entire life. It's usually not hard to explain just a little bit of your major to people, the explanation alone always brings confusion.
The man blinks slowly, kinda like he didn't understand what the hell you just said. "Okay." He sighs, "Two things. One, what does that have to do with you being here without permission, and two, can you explain that in simpler terms?"
A light smile grows on your face, "Well, I meant to come here before the class started and ask if I could sit through a couple of your lectures to study everyone but uh, I forgot... A-And, in simpler terms, I'm just here to see how certain subjects affect certain people."
Mr. Fushiguro nods his head, pausing to think about what you just told him. He has no reason not to believe you, he's actually had plenty of students do this in the past.
"Psych major, huh?" He asks.
"Yes sir."
"That's uh," He clicks his tongue, "Surprising."
"How so?" You scoff, quick to take a bit of offense.
The man shrugs, "I don't usually get Psych majors in my class, you're the first."
"Oh." You chuckle, "Well, I was also curious about how the economy specifically would alter people's way of thinking."
"Yeah?" You think you see him grinning at you. He appears to be intrigued, "Why?"
"I mean, when you're talking about the economy, you're talking about money and, well," You shrug, "Who doesn't like money? I just wanted to see if that made any difference in the way people think and act in terms of education."
"Right," He nods again, "And what class is this for?"
Shit. "Uhm, sociology." You manage to say.
The male opens his mouth to comment something but he's cut off by a light knock on his open classroom door, prompting both of you to turn your head. Your eyes go wide at the man you see standing there.
Blond, tall, neutral facial expression, and, above all, mouth-wateringly sexy. Good god, where the hell does Gojo find these men? The male at the door is someone you recognize from the pictures.
"Mr. Fushiguro," The blond calls, voice stoic.
"Nanami." The professor in front of you replies, "How can I help ya?"
The man at the door takes a few steps into the classroom, "I had a few questions on the assignment from last week."
Your mind is all over the place at this point. Is this who Gojo was talking about when he said there are two people on the list in the class?
"I might have a few answers," Mr. Fushiguro, whose first name you notice is Toji based on the nearby nameplate sitting on his desk, responds playfully.
You then watch as he stands and walks over to Nanami, your heart spiraling out of control. Spotting two people from the list in one day? It's nerve-wracking.
The two stand not too far away from you and quietly go over something. You pick up on tidbits of their conversation but it's all about an assignment you know nothing about so, there's not much you can do with the information you hear.
Nanami's glance strays over to you for only a second, long enough for you two to make eye contact, and long enough for him to look away. It was a glance of simply acknowledging the fact that you're there-- not even the kinda glance where he's checking you out.
The look he gave you and the one you initially received from Toji are similar, it's like neither of them was even interested in you-
Holy shit.
You think you know why too. The way they look at you is nothing compared to Geto's first glances at you, even though the situation and setting are much different.
That's when you realize...
That asshole Gojo never told you what level of difficulty these men are considered to be.

Going over the izzy/lucius/shark exchange is so interesting in the context of this being an episode about apologies. About making concessions and trying to fix things.
(In this ep there's a lot about ed making amends/accommodating the crew's triggers and trauma. It's also about stede having to fix things when he upsets the superstitious crew by not treating their feelings as valid.)
At the start we have Ed's (probably well intentioned) but evasive, non-apology. He does an 'I'm sorry you feel that way' sort of apology about 'whatever that bad stuff was'. It's a wish to do better, but it doesn't really cover what went before. A lot of people interject here, but Izzy remains completely still and silent, off to one side.
Lucius says he never used the word 'sorry' and rightly calls this out. Roach however, says he's never heard an apology before - and liked it - so this seems like as much as it's a first for Ed to take even some accountability, it's probably the first time some of the crew have seen a captain (or anyone else) do this too.
Archie says 'They just get away with it and we move on'.
Lucius rounds on Izzy, because obviously Izzy should have the biggest grievance here. But Izzy responds to the question about Ed's apology as if it was about piracy in general - clearly showing that the cycle of abuse is a feature, not a bug. This is part of his life and identity as a pirate. This is, actually, things going back to normal. You get whipped (and we see these scars on him later) no one apologises, and you just reset to how it was before, pretending nothing has been altered until it all bubbles over again.
Ed then tells stede that he's never apologised for anything. Confirming that most of the crew's responses are in line with their past experiences.
Then Ed goes to fix the door and tells it that it's not its fault that it's broken, it was just doing it's job. This directly parallels Izzy's rant to the figurehead about it failing to do it's job. Ed could be talking about himself here, as Izzy was talking about himself - but to me it doesn't fit that well, because what 'job' was Ed trying to do? He could instead be acknowledging, indirectly, that he is aware that Izzy was doing his job - trying to make sure they all survived and functioned as a crew. Ed probably broke that door, and he broke Izzy. But he has yet to talk to him about it.
Immediately following this, is when he scares the BEJESUS out of Lucius and tells him 'it would be faster to get all this out in one go'. It sounds like a reasonable suggestion, but we know that it doesn't actually work. Lucius pushes him off the boat and it doesn't help. Because 'I hurt you, so now you hurt me' doesn't benefit the abused, it's still about making the abuser feel better - making them feel punished and therefore redeemed, even when their victim isn't healed. I don't think Ed is trying to manipulate Lucius here - both of them think it might help to 'fix things' but fixing things takes emotional intelligence that's not really developed yet.
ENTER, THE SHARK
Izzy starts working on the shark, after the non-apology. He doesn't have it in the 'candle fighting' scene obvs - but he does receive an apology in that scene, when stede says 'feet' and then corrects himself to foot. It's a simple straightforward apology, even if he does sort of laugh awkwardly. Izzy also at least attempted to apologise to Stede in ep. 3 - so he clearly sees the use in apologies - AND right after the apology, Izzy agrees to help stede. Their relationship changes. It gets better and they're no longer stuck in those old patterns. Izzy is full-on gentle parenting stede - even when he shoots down a fucking sail.
He also, notably, states that the crew's feelings on the curse are important. Meaning, how the crew feels is important to him, period.
After this, we're back to Lucius throwing Ed overboard. But it doesn't work because Ed doesn't remember the talent show thing, he doesn't really know why Lucius was so blindsided by that betrayal of trust. It's not about who goes overboard. It's about the dynamics underneath that and those can't be fixed by just trading places for a moment.
FINALLY. We see Izzy finishing the shark, and he's completely unsurprised that Lucius pushing Ed into the water didn't fix things. Izzy's done this 'tit for tat' thing - betraying Ed to the English over being banished - and it ended terribly for both of them. It escalated things. He knows it's not as simply as getting even with someone.
The solution Izzy has chosen to the cycle of his relationship with Ed is to pretend that Ed hasn't done anything to him. A shark did it. Like with the non-apology, blame is being shifted to a third party 'the bad things' the 'bad times'. Lucius (rightly) points out that this is not healthy, but Izzy's response, that's better than not moving on, clearly resonates.
Izzy's response to being hurt was to 1. Get even and 2. (when that proved deeply unsatisfying and made things worse) to put the unresolved conflict behind him. Because he doesn't think Ed is ever going to apologise or change, and wanting those things just hurt more.
Anyone who has parents/a partner/friend who's NEVER apologised for anything, knows how he's feeling. You stop trying to have it out and fix the relationship, and it starts to wither, even though the other person thinks it's healthy.
'Not moving on is worse' is a warning, and it's one that Lucius takes to heart, immediately trying to centre positive things instead of resentment and anger. He shares his feelings with Pete, and their relationship thrives.
The issue here, is that denial doesn't work. Lucius might be able to move on from what happened to him without a proper apology from Ed, but that's because he's not in a relationship with him. Izzy's the one who's really in it with Ed - he's had DECADES of this shit. That can't be willed away.
Stede's resolution to the curse conflict models a healthier method and one that I'm hoping we see in a future episode between Ed/Izzy. He validates the crew's feelings, make a sacrifice (the suit) and TOGETHER they collaborate on a solution to the issue that is mutually satisfactory - he even gets to keep the shirt, as a sort of compromise. It isn't about just making stede or the crew feel better, it's about moving on together.
This happens with Ed and Fang! Ed actually apologises once he realises what, specifically he did wrong. Fang says they're 'sweet' because he beat Ed to death (oof) which outwardly seems like retaliation working - but there has also been an actual apology and Fang wasn't retaliating against Ed, he was standing up for himself - a physical version of saying 'that wasn't OK - you need to change'.
This method of resolution is echoed in the final scene, with stede and ed. They reach an understanding about the pace of their relationship and find a happy medium (holding hands) - mutually satisfied and moving forwards.
Bottom line? I hope we see 1. Ed actually apologise to Izzy and 2. the pair of them outline what it is they want to change in their relationship moving forward, ending the cycle for good.
Thank you for coming to my Ed talk.

« words: 1,601 ┇ao3┇reblogs are appreciated! »
🪩::voicemail ; read my other aaron warner fics here.
authors note: this pretty much sucks bc I’m on my writers block and I can’t write shits lol but anyway sorry for the delay it’s bc I am lazy asf. Enjoy anyways 🫶
It was a lovely evening, and you and Aaron had decided to go on a date to one of your favorite restaurants. The atmosphere was intimate, the candlelight casting a warm glow, and soft jazz playing in the background. Everything seemed perfect.
You and Aaron shared stories and laughter, savoring your favorite dishes. The night had been wonderful so far, filled with love and companionship. But then, Aaron excused himself to use the restroom.
As you sit waiting for Aaron to return from the restroom, the waiter from earlier approaches you and begins flirting with you.
"Hey there, beautiful," he says with a flirtatious smile. "Where's your handsome boyfriend?" he asks, leaning in closer once more.
You look over at Aaron's chair, which is empty since he went to the restroom. You don't want to be rude, but you're also not interested in the waiter.
"Uh, he'll be back in a sec," you say, trying to brush off the waiter.
The waiter continues to lean in, seeming determined to continue flirting with you.
"Why wait for him when you've got me right here?" he asks, flashing another charming smile.
You let out a soft sigh at the waiter's persistent flirting, wanting to find a way to end it without hurting his feelings.
"Look, I appreciate the attention, but I'm not interested," you say firmly, hoping to get through to the waiter. You turn and look away from him, hoping he'll take the hint and walk away.
The waiter, however, isn't quite ready to give up and continues to try his luck.
"Don't be so hasty, cutie," he says with a wink. "Everyone has their price, what's yours?" he asks, leaning even closer.
You feel yourself getting increasingly irritated with the waiter's annoying flirting and are getting tempted to tell him off when suddenly Aaron walks back into the diner. When he sees the waiter leaning in and flirting with you, his annoyance becomes visible on his face.
Aaron hurries over to your table, standing between you and the waiter, standing protectively. "Keep your distance." He said coldly, eyes burning with fire.
"Hey, cool it, dude," the waiter replies with a dismissive wave. "Just making some friendly conversation, that's all.”
Aaron leans in closer to the waiter, clearly not buying his excuse.
The waiter steps back, his smile faltering slightly as your boyfriend's aggressive demeanor makes him feel uncomfortable.
"Alright, alright, I was just messing around," he says, holding up his hands in surrender.
Aaron, however, doesn't seem impressed and continues to glare at the waiter, his arms still crossed.
"Yeah, best you keep your distance from her," Aaron says sternly. "Or else you'll be dealing with me. Got it?"
He continues to stand protectively next to you and stares the waiter down.
"You heard me. Keep your distance, understand?" he says, his tone leaving no room for any sort of argument or discussion.
The waiter gulps and nods again, quickly turning around and taking a few steps back.
"Yes, sir," he mumbles, quickly hurrying back to the other tables in the restaurant to find other patrons to wait on.
"Does that guy think he can just waltz in here and snatch you away from me? Because I am not having it," he grumbles.
You laughed at him, tilting your head, "I didn't encourage it." you assured him. Aaron, however, wasn't so easily convinced. He wrapped his arm around your waist, drawing you a bit closer to him. "I know," he said, "but I can't help it if I get a little possessive when someone flirts with my love."
Aaron approaches your neck slowly and leans down to give you a passionate kiss, leaving a clear mark on your skin.
The waiter watches this display of intimacy from afar, feeling a bit conflicted about witnessing this intimate moment between the two of you.
After Aaron finishes kissing your neck, he looks up at you and smiles sweetly, holding you close to his body.
"Let's continue this at home" he seductively whispers in your ear, yet irritation is visible to his face.
—
As soon as you both arrived at the bedroom, Warner eagerly kissed you as he started guiding you to the bed, placing you gently.
"Mhmm, aaron…" you moaned.
"You are mine as I am yours, understand that, love?" He whispers as he trailed kisses from your jaw.
"uhuh" you answered, high from the feeling.
"Use your words, My love." He said as his emerald eyes admired you. Gods, you are so damn pretty.
"I am yours, always. No need to get jealous, pretty boy."
“You think I’m pretty?” He softly whispers the question into your ear, punctuating it with a tender kiss to your earlobe as he lingers there.
“mhm, I think everyone does.”
“Oh but, angel, I don’t care about what everyone else thinks, you’re the only one that matters to me."
he remarks, moving his leg to part yours, bringing them to rest on either side of his thigh. His hand gently takes hold of yours, securing them above your head against the pillow. Though his grasp is lenient, you have no inclination to break free, preferring to be at Warner's mercy for whatever he may desire.
“You certainly have a way with words, don’t you, Aaron?”
“Only for you, my beloved.” he responded.
His lips journey across your cheek until they meet yours. Your mouths engage in a slow yet passionate dance, relishing the sensation of one another's lips. His teeths graze your lower lip slightly before he withdraws, peppering your neck with kisses.
A minor sensation pricks your neck as your boyfriend lavishes extra attention on the bottom of your neck.
“Everyone will see that tomorrow.” you note.
“Good, I want people to know you’re mine,” his words send a surge of heat through your body, all the way to your most sensitive regions. You shift against him slightly, and he chuckles against your neck, "Oh you like that, don't you, huh, my love?"
You nod as your lips part. The tenderness on your neck, where his lips had been, is already evident.
His lips continue their descent, bunching up your dress around your chest as he settles between your legs. He holds onto your thighs as he gazes up at you, his eyes glimmering with desire.
“Now, let me make you feel good, my sweet girl.”

can i say (as a bi woman) that it genuinely bothers me that like... so many ppl are like 'its not biphobic for a bisexual to have casual sex' when i don't think anyone has ever said THAT is the issue? i don't care what bisexuals do in real life. if they wanna have safe and consensual casual sex, go right ahead, idc! it's not for me but as long as i'm also being respected in my decision, idc what other people do. it just baffles me because buck in season one was talking about how he was a sex addict and how he didn't want to ruin things with abby by rushing into sex too fast because he genuinely liked her and that was like... kind of a huge part of his character? is that he DIDN'T really like the casual sex so much but actually wanted a real relationship? so why is oliver begging to have buck sleep around again when his character like... wanted more than just sex??? i don't mind character regression but it just feels like bad writing to retread that plot again.
also idc what other people say about thinking OS wasn't biphobic in his remarks. the guy dropped the ball hardcore. he could have easily said "i think buck can continue to casually explore his sexuality with other men and women now, he's still bisexual even if he's single" and it wouldn't have felt so... idk. fetishize-y to me. i'm just tired of bisexuality in fiction always being linked to promiscuity. real bisexuals can do whatever they want. but bisexuals in fiction are held to a different standard for a reason. what else should i expect from a ryan murphy show tho considering brittany on glee never called herself bisexual (bi-lingual, bi-corn) and she was portrayed the 'stupid slutty cheerleader' stereotype. i was just hoping for something different ig :(
it just makes me mad because... they didn't have to break up buck and tommy Like That. tommy could have easily had to move away and he and buck could have broken things off mutually as a result. idk sorry for ranting a bit in ur asks im just so miffed over this and over people speaking over bisexuals expressing their thoughts and concerns toward the biphobia that's going on rn :(
Sorry it took me so long to answer you, but please rant away! Honestly I agree with everything you've said. And unfortunately this really does prove that yeah, this is a Ryan Murphy show and it's par for the fucking course. I was gleek and that always bothered me too that Britney would never say it (and most of her characterization in general was just awful)
I wish Oliver had said something different, I wish he hadn't worded it that way. And again, people can have their opinions but it just feels so gross given how the show decided to do this.
They could've had bucktommy break up in any other way for any other reason. They brought up the Abby plot, they could've used that as the hurdle. They could have had them talk about wanting different things in a relationship. Literally anything that wasn't Tommy basically telling Buck it's over because he's not enough of a stereotype. Because bisexuals don't know what they want. Clearly.
It's very infuriating and I'm so sorry that yet another piece of media treated bisexual people like fucking shit.
And it's really fucking infuriating that people who aren't bisexual are defending Oliver over his comment. Again, have your different opinions but don't speak over people that are bi and already have to deal with biphobia in our shitty society
This show went about it all in an awful way, and I'm really sad that we were all tricked into believing they'd handle it better

For me, Sol, didnt do anything that bad as all think. Like, he killed one person and what now lol. Like Anakin killed a dozens of children and nobody takes shit lmao. Sol thinks that he was doing the right thing. And I kinda didnt liked the twins so…
He made a series of mistakes and he clearly was carrying that guilt and shame w him all that time. we can see this from his reaction all the way til the finale (he never draws his saber until the situation calls for it, still sees good Mae, was the first one saying he will face the council, and still wants to tell Osha the truth and face the consequences). His mistakes make him a complex character and w LJJ amazing performance he became an unforgettable character to me. Idc if ppl hate him I can just ignore them or block them if they are being annoying in my posts.
** long rant about what actually pissed me off under the cut ⚠️
I'm jsut tired of this show as a whole so im just taking Sol and Jecki out, read my one fav fanfic of them, and create their own version in my head that has nothing to do w the show anymore.
However, if you want to see a good depiction of a well-intentioned yet emotionally flawed and morally ambiguous father figure who then died at the hand of his adopted daughter, I suggest you watch "Hunt". It's a movie directed by LJJ back in 2022. It has its own issues but the ending of that movie got me more emotional than this shit show lol.
** What actually pissed me off about this show is the way the finale threw Sol's whole arc up until this point into the trash. Suddenly he started yapping about the vergence, which was not established until ep7 (and in ep7 his main concern was the twins' safety, not that bs). Suddenly he wanted to shoot down Mae now even tho he didn't wanna fight her and was trying to save her on Khofar. Suddenly he didn't want to face the council now and tried to justify his action (while he clearly was so sorry about it and wanted to face the council before). All of this happened without a proper build-up (The father's spiraling was done much better in Hunt lmao). Osha's fall can be done much better and still have everyone stay in character yet still lead to the same outcome, and have a much stronger impact.
And the way Leslye talked about him in her interview like he's an overbearing father and him saying "it's okay" in the end is taking away Osha's agency (???). If i talk more this post is gonna get too long so I'm just gonna link a few links here so you can read them. They explain everything that made me dislike the show even more and don't wanna think about it anymore now lol
x <- about how they ruined the first Asian Jedi Master we got, which pissed me off as a SEA person and a Jedi enjoyer.
x x<- about the writing for Sol
x <- about one of LH interviews where the interviewer said Sol is a bad parent and sexist, and she just went along w that take (how???)
x <-Jedi can love deeply, be it familial or romantic. they just don't let those emotions control them
x x <- more about the shitty writing of this show
#yapping in hyperspace#Anonymous#LH is projecting her white childhood w her white dad onto an Asian man and im just here being baffled af#and her saying the lightsaber=d*cks are like???bro thats not sth u say publicly come on#and her associating creative freedom and queer rights w the Siths. yk the bad guys who murdered children in this universe????#also Jedi are based on Buddhism but the way LH think of them is like a bunch of devoted Christians which is even more wtf#sr for the long rant im still so angry when i think of this shit#the acolyte

Hey I found that one BT blog and this answer is even better. The question they got was basically why don't Buddie shippers remember that the original plan for Eddie was Maddie, and why don't we understand that's proof Buddie has never been the plan. They also went on a rant about the date scene from the finale. The ask also mentioned being blocked by Ryan and Oliver and threw in some Ryan/Oliver hate so just a heads up!
A. Hi anon! Okay you're correct, and I believe it was Jennifer herself (I could be wrong) that let us know the original plan was Eddie/Maddie but she lobbied hard for Chimney (go Jen!) and it means absolutely nothing. I hope that doesn't sound mean but it has no bearing whatsoever on anything at all. Nothing. Buddie doesn't have to have always been the plan to go canon. It can go that way if the natural trajectory of the story and characters lead things that way. And right now that looks like where it's going. I could be wrong, but it feels like that's what's coming. I mean Eddie and Maddie aren't even friends at this point, lol. I can't remember the last time they even had a scene together. I know both Ryan and Jennifer said they wanted more Eddie/Maddie interaction, which might mean they know they're going to have scenes together in the coming season. I hope they do, it's weird that they haven't interacted more. And none of that has anything at all to do with Tommy. I'm not at all sure what you mean by that? There is no Tommy connection running through the history of this show. That is not a thing. Yes he has history on the show but not to every character on this show. And certainly not to the degree you're trying to imply.
I have zero idea why people are choosing the finale date scene as their Tommy hill to die on. It was a terrible scene. It was wildly out of place in the context of that episode, and people should be willing to admit that. It was unequivocally and universally panned. The journalists who review and cover the show, the general audience, no one understood or liked that scene. The fact that Tim had to come out and flat out tell us it was supposed to be flirting is embarrassing. And tells you everything you need to know about how hard of a dud that scene was. We have all seen Buck flirt. And that wasn't even close. And it felt entirely out of character for Buck in every possible way. A lot of it can be pinned to K, who is a terrible writer in general, but, in my opinion, has never known how to actually write Buck. I also think Oliver wasn't trying to make it flirty, which maybe if he had tried it would have helped some but he clearly wasn't going for flirty. The episode as a whole was abysmal and that scene was no different. There is no need to pretend otherwise.
Now I'm going to lecture. I haven't seen a single Buddie shipper excuse Ryan's past comment. Not a single one, I'm sure someone somewhere has, but I haven't seen it. What I have seen is plenty of excuses offered for Lou's problematic history. What Ryan said was wrong, flat out inexcusably wrong. And guess what? He owned it. Publicly. He made a public apology and clearly worded himself. You can tell between then and now he's grown as a person. You only need to look at his relationship with Aisha to know that. We don't tear down or try to erase someone's personal growth to excuse the behavior of someone else. That's not how life works. You don't get to diminish Ryan's growth and personal journey to make you feel better about Lou's twitter history. Lou could have addressed things, and he chose not to. Actually he chose to go radio silent. Whether that turns out to be work related or not remains to be seen. I'm sorry you're upset that you've been blocked by Ryan, but if you sent him what you sent me in this ask, I can see why he blocked you. I also don't think it should be surprising that Oliver also blocked you. I don't think they're sitting around talking about Tommy fans like you're saying, but it wouldn't at all surprise me if they're sharing certain things they're being sent. They're friends. They're going to talk. They're allowed to be friends. You're not the first person who's mentioned being blocked by both of them. They are both huge mental health advocates and them blocking nasty comments should surprise no one. It is surprising, and incredibly disappointing, to kind of see how many people they appear to have had to block though. Look the bottom line is the story has already been decided. Whatever the direction is won't be altered by being assholes to the cast. And if we did have any kind of power to change things, which we don't, being openly hostile toward, and an asshole to, the main cast, would accomplish the opposite of what you want.
Imagine what this anon had to have sent to Ryan. I don't want to know. Also, imagine choosing the date scene as your favorite scene 🤣. Good on the answer though, it was I'm sure, humiliating to have to publicly explain that scene.
Wow. Thank you Nonny. :)
I have to admit, the eloquent way this person explains everything is incredible. They say all the things I've thought about, but might not have voiced so clearly in my previous posts.
So, I'm just going to leave this here for everyone to read. I encourage you all to take a look at it. It's highly interesting.
And again, please no hate on this post. I'm not posting this to mock anyone or to generate more hate.
I'm merely posting this because this is clearly written by a BT fan who has not been lead on by Lou's headcanons in his cameos. This person sees the show for what it. They see the way the story is unfolding and respectfully speaks their mind about it without any insults towards anyone else in the 911 fandom. I can appreciate that from anyone, no matter what they ship.

hii can you write a story about james wilson where he and the reader are married and have a child, but one day they argue over his continued absences and james ends up leaving. Maybe he cheat ? idk if you like stories with a bit of angst.
Otherwise thank you for your stories!!
The Fourth Ex Mrs. Wilson
Warnings: Infidelity, drunkenness, innuendos, crude language, angst. Sorry if I forgot anything! I promise it has a happyish ending!
Summary: People make mistakes, especially when they're upset and drunk...but love conquers all...right?
"Where's Daddy?" Your son asked as you tucked him into bed.
"He's still at work, sweetheart." You said as you sat by his bedside and brushed his soft brown hair out of his eyes.
"Why?" You smiled slightly at the child's questions.
"Because people need him." You said softly as a look of confusion crossed his features.
"But we need him." Your smile faltered a bit before you regained your composure.
"I think it's time for bed, mister." You said, wanting to change the subject, as you pushed the blankets into his sides.
"Why?" He said as he fought a yawn. You laughed lightly at the small boy's stubbornness. He was a mini version of his father down to his brown doe eyes.
"Why? Why? Why? We should've named you Wyatt!" You tickled his sides as he laughed.
"No...I'm Evan!" He shouted as you kissed his nose.
"I know sweetheart. Now get to bed baby."
By the time you had gotten him to bed, it was around 8:30. James was supposed to be done with work around six, but more often than not, he had to stay late for patients, cases, or House. It was a routine that you unfortunately had gotten used to; however, Evan was another story. The four year old just wanted his daddy and couldn't understand why strangers were more important to James than he was.
It wasn't until around ten that you heard the lock twist. On nights like this you would set up camp on the couch in order to be awake when your husband got home but more often than not you ended up falling asleep from dealing with a hyperactive four year old all day.
Soon enough, the outline of James' figure stumbled into the house, making his way to the couch before landing on you, causing a yelp to escape your lips.
"Shhh! I can't wake up my wife!" He whisper-yelled at you as he put his finger to his lips. He reeked of booze and clearly wasn't in the right state of mind.
"I'm your wife!" A look of recognition crossed his face.
"Right!" He then lunged for your neck and started kissing it sloppily. You quickly pushed him off of you before standing up with your hands on your hips.
"James! Are you drunk?" You asked in disbelief. You knew the answer, but still a part of you hoped you were wrong. He looked up at you like a deer caught in headlights.
"No?" You scoffed before pinching your nose between your fingers and shaking your head.
"What is wrong with you? You were supposed to be home hours ago!" You whispered as the disbelief turned to anger. "I've been waiting all night, and you come home drunk off your ass? I mean, do you know what Evan said to me when I was kissing him goodnight? He asked, 'Where's Daddy?' and I told him that you were at work and that people needed you, and he said 'But we need him.' and you know what I said? Nothing! Because I didn't know how to tell that little boy that work comes first when it comes to you and-" You were going to continue your rant, but suddenly he cut you off.
"Enough." He held his head in his hands as you stopped to look at him.
"What?" You asked in disbelief.
"Enough! I'm tired of being needed! You need me, my patients need me, House needs me! I went out and had a drink to relax. I thought my wife would understand!" You scoffed.
"There are so many things wrong with what you just said." He groaned as you went on. "Of course I and your son need you! Of course your patients need you! I understand your job is hard but so is mine! I have to raise our child by myself! I gave up a career to be a stay at home mom and wife, and I don't even get to spend time with you anymore! As for House, who cares! He's a grown ass man he can take care of himself or get some other sucker to care for him! And you did not have a drink! You're drunk! You smell like a dive bar! You didn't even recognize me when you got home! You just stumbled in the house, hoping I was already asleep!" You paused to catch your breath and waited for an apology. "Well?"
"I'm going out." He huffed before standing up and making his way to the door.
"What?"
"You heard me!"
"We're not finished!" You yelled, not realizing that you had quit whispering a long time ago.
"Well I am!" And with that, he slammed the door and was gone. You fell onto the couch in shock, finally acknowledging the angry tears that were streaming down your face. You bit back a sob at the events that just happened.
"Mommy?" You heard a soft whisper and saw Evan standing in the middle of the hallway. "I heard yelling." You quickly dried your tears before going over and picking him up.
"Oh, it's ok, baby. It was just a nightmare." You tried to convince him. He only nodded and laid his head in the crook of your neck.
"Can you sleep with me?" You kissed his hair and nodded before taking him to his bedroom and laying down. He quickly cuddled up into your arms and laid his head on your chest. "Goodnight, love you." You forced a small smile.
"Goodnight. I love you too." And with that exhaustion, confusion, and sadness overtook you.
You woke up the next morning to a whining child.
"Mom! You're squeezing me too tight!" You quickly released your grip on him and sat up looking at the clock. It was 9:30 in the morning.
"Sorry sweetheart." You said as you wiped your eyes. You had no idea where James was, but to be honest, you didn't really want to see him. Not after last night. "Why don't you go to the bathroom while I get breakfast." You said as you tousled his hair. He smiled up at you before running off.
You made your way to the kitchen not without peering in the master bedroom in hopes of seeing your husband but no such luck.
After helping Evan in the bathroom and getting breakfast, ready you nervously cleaned the house. Sure, you had had fights before, but as cliche as it is you tried to never go to bed angry. Last night however...well you both were fuming, and with him storming off to who knows where? It scared you, to say the least.
Once Evan finished breakfast, he ran off to his room to play while you cleaned up the used dishes. Eventually, you heard the telling click of the lock and found James dragging himself inside. He looked like shit. Part of you wanted to apologize and ask him if he was ok, but the other part...she wanted him to suffer, to feel as bad as he made her feel. Before you could make up your mind, you felt a presence next to you.
"Y/n." You ignored him, instead continuing to wipe the sticky syrup off the table. "We need to talk."
"I don't want to talk to you." You said curtly as he sighed.
"Where's Evan?" He settled.
"His room. Playing."
"Can we talk? Please?" Hearing the desperation in his voice, you gave in and followed him to the living room.
"What?" You asked as you took in his disheveled appearance. He looked even worse than last night if that was possible. "What?" You asked again a little more gently, but he avoided your eyes and twiddled his thumbs.
"I-I messed up." He exhaled. Your heart dropped at the guilty tone in his words. "I don't entirely remember what happened, but...this morning I...I woke up in bed...with a woman." The words cut you like a knife as you stood up in disbelief. You couldn't believe it. You knew he had done that to his exes, but...
"I've-I've got to go." He quickly stood up and grabbed your hands.
"Please! I'm so sorry. I love you!" He said in tears, but you shook your head at his words.
"No...no! James, I have to go. I'm going to take Evan and-and stay at my mother's for a little while." He tried to grab your forearms as you started to walk away, but you stopped him. "Please! James...I need time to-to think." He nodded as he let you go, understanding that at the very least, you needed some time to cool off. But that doesn't mean it didn't hurt any less. Before leaving, you turned again. "I think it would be best...if Evan didn't see you right now." Again, he silently nodded before going to hide.
You quickly wiped your eyes before going to gather some things and tell Evan that the two of you were going to sleep over at grandma's. Thankfully, he was more than happy to spend the weekend at grandma's, so getting him out of the house quickly wasn't too hard. You were silent the entire ride over, trying to hold back the tears as Evan talked and talked away. Luckily, your mother's wasn't too far away.
"Honey! I'm so sorry!" Your mother hugged you, but you quickly shushed her since Evan was around. "Right! Sorry, dear. Evan, why don't you go play in the playroom? I'll make brownies!" He nodded excitedly before running off, and she brought you to the kitchen. "Now tell me, what happened?"
"Last night he came home late, and he was drunk...we got into a terrible fight, and he stormed out and-" You broke down in tears, finally letting it all get to you. "This morning he came back and told me...he told me he woke up in bed with another woman!" Your mother quickly hugged you close and started caressing your hair.
"Shh...it's ok. Let it all out." And you did. Eventually, you pulled back to catch your breath. "How...how did he sound?" You furrowed your brows at your mother's odd question.
"What?"
"How did he sound when he told you? You know, did he sound guilty? Did he apologize? Like he wanted to fix things?"
"Why does that matter?" You asked in disbelief. "He cheated on me! One bad fight! And he hopped into bed with some stranger! At least...I hope it was a stranger...that way it was a spur of the moment thing and not a premeditated thing with someone who he has chemistry with...like a coworker!" A sob broke through at the thought.
"I know...I know. It's a terrible thing what he did to you! But you two really love each other, right? You can get through this!" You scoffed.
"I thought we did. But he cheated mom! That's not something you get through like-like forgetting an anniversary or-or something." You stammered.
"Hun. I need to tell you something." You looked up at the sound of your mother's serious tone. "Come here." She brought you to the couch and grasped your hands. "Sometimes...people make mistakes. Really bad mistakes. But that doesn't mean everything is over! When you're in love, when you have children...it's different. You're more inclined to work through things and forgive really stupid mistakes. And I mean really stupid mistakes." You sighed.
"How do you know?" She gave you a look. "Oh..."
"Yeah...now look. James is a good man who's made plenty of mistakes. But if he loves you and if you love him...things will get better. Just hear him out. I know it's hard and right now you probably want to cry, throw up, and cut off his prized possessions if you know what I mean-" You laughed at your mother's avoidance of 'crude' language. "But things can work out. And if after you hear the whole story, you still feel that way...or if he doesn't absolutely grovel for your forgiveness. Then divorce him, and you and Evan can move in with me." You smiled slightly, taking in your mother's words.
"Ok..."
"And until you're ready to face him and have that talk...I'm right here."
"Thanks mom." You smiled sadly and hugged her.
"No problem sweetheart. Now come on! I promised an impatient four year old brownies almost half an hour ago!" You laughed as you got up to help her.
After a long day of thinking, it was finally night time. You had been trying to fall asleep for hours now, but you couldn't ignore the hole in your heart. Having had enough and having thought about what your mother said that morning, you got up and snuck into her room.
"Mom?" She groaned in response. "I need to go talk to James...can you watch Evan?" At that, she seemed to fully wake up, and she quickly nodded her head before shooing you off to hopefully fix things.
The drive seemed to take forever as you rehearsed over and over in your head what you might say to him. Once you got there, you unlocked the door and crept in only to find him asleep on the couch.
"James?" You asked as you prodded his shoulder. His eyes fluttered open, and his brows furrowed in confusion. "What are you doing on the couch?" You asked gently.
"It didn't feel right sleeping in our bed...not without you..." He frowned before asking. "What are you doing here? I thought you were staying with your mother?"
"I couldn't sleep." You took a deep breath before adding. "And I think we need to talk." He nodded and quickly sat up so you could sit next to him. "What happened?" He grimaced at the memory.
"Last night when I left...I was drunk. I went back to the bar and only got more drunk. I guess I started talking to the bartender, and before I knew it...I was...taking out my frustrations on her..." He bowed his head in shame as you took it all in.
"So...it was a one time thing?" He looked up quickly.
"Yes! And it was stupid. I shouldn't have done it, and I'll regret it for the rest of my life."
"And it was a stranger?" He nodded as you exhaled deeply.
"I'm sorry for everything. The things I said and the things I did. It's just lately, things have been difficult at work and-and I lost a patient, and House has been...House, and that's no excuse, but I kind of just...fell off the deep end. And I'll never forgive myself for ruining what we had and hurting you." You sighed.
"James. I never wanted to be the fourth ex Mrs. Wilson." You paused as his face fell. "And I still don't. I talked to my mother and she brought up some good points." You shook your head. "I guess what I'm trying to say is...I really love you, and I'm willing to work through this and fix things...that is if you want to." You looked back to see tears well in his eyes as he grabbed you and pulled you close.
"Of course! Of course I want to fix this. I'm so sorry. I'm so so sorry." He cried into your shoulder as a weight seemed to lift from your heart. You pulled back a little to talk to him more.
"Even if that means we...take it slow? To get back to where we need to be?" He nodded vigorously.
"I'll do whatever needs to be done. I'll never drink again if it proves how sorry I am!" You laughed and patted his cheek.
"Well, I don't know about that. I mean, if you never drink again, we might not have another kid." You smirked at the memory. It was your first wedding anniversary, and you both were incredibly drunk. He insisted he could pull out in time...obviously he was wrong. He chuckled as he thought back to it, too.
"Right, right. I am sorry, though. I never want to hurt you ever again. Especially not like that." You leaned your forehead against his and smiled softly.
"I know..." Tears were dripping down both your faces by now. "It's late, and my mom is watching Evan...why don't we get to bed?" You suggested.
"Together?"
"I wouldn't have it any other way."
It was going to take a while to fully heal and fully trust again, but together, as you both worked through it, things would eventually be better than ever. In your heart, you knew that.
Author's Note: I had to end it on a happyish note ok? Hopefully this is what you wanted! Also thank you to @shmaptainwrites for helping me figure out what the issue is that causes Wilson to be an ass. (If you somehow haven't, definitely check out her account!)

Infrared theory
(Idk if someone already noticed this, and I'm sorry if that's the case)
That's going to be a pretty long post, sorry about that.
Since the pilot drop, something in the color grading of the "gray world"'s scenes was troubling me. I couldn't really put my finger on it but something in how the light and the shadows were reacting to the movement felt wrong.
I did go to film school, but I specialized in video editing and 2D animation. So my first instinct was to think (wrongly) that it was du to post-production. I thought it was a weird choice they probably made in the color grading before removing the color (vibrancy/saturation) from the rush that create this weird rendering.
Firstly, this isn't bad, it's just, for someone like me (but probably everyone I guess) the images felt like something wasn't right but it's just a feeling because you can't actually explain what feels wrong with it. I don't know if I'm been clear right now, my apologizes.
I just saw the BTS picture Jeff posted, and it brought even more questions to me. Like their clothes IRL are as dark as Jeff's hair but in the video Jeff's hair are still black while their clothes partly went white.
At first, I thought they could have use rotoscoping on his hair but that would have needed a lot of time and the rendering would have probably had artefacts. I showed it to my boyfriend who works in cinema post-production (compositing) and for him it's clearly not rotoscoping. (please, the poor soul listens to all my HES ranting those past weeks, he's very patient with me 😭)
He asked me if I knew the camera they used which I clearly don't. But that made me think about something we saw in film school.
I'm not sure I remember correctly so feel free to correct me if I'm spilling bullshit right now. If you use a infrared light camera, to film in the dark, you can differentiate a natural dark head person and someone who colored their hair. A natural dark head person will be seen with dark hair on infrared but someone who used bleach at some point on their hair will look blond even if they colored it back to black after the bleach. Infrared light cameras perceive light we don't and react to texture differently.
So, I think they used a infrared light camera to film the gray world parts. The part of the guards' clothes that came out black look very matte in the BTS picture like faux leather while the white part seems like a cotton base fabric, that could have been bleach before been dye in black.
Like I said earlier, infrared are wavelengths of color that can't be perceive by human eyes. Those cameras reveal what's invisible for us.
So... if I may try to theorise this again. (All the theories I made recently were all wrong so don't take this seriously I guess) Humans like Anawin can't see the gray world, but it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I don't really know what to make out of this information but Damon could clearly come from a world where the colors aren't the same as in ours, which would also explain his appeal to painting and colorful stuff ( like the bright yellow bouquet). It could also explain the "Damon is partly or fully blind" theory, because his eyes aren't made to see the wavelengths of color we have in our world, like we would be completely blind in an infrared world. Or, maybe, he has been blind all his life in the gray world but not in our world, which made him fall in love with the colors of our world, and the infrared is here to highlight this.
#If Jeff really went this far as using infrared cameras to signify blindness well this man is clearly a genius#Yes I'm still hyperfixating on this pilot#My former college teachers would probably hate me rn#but I always had been better in video editing and scriptwritting than in all the technical camera courses#Happy Ending#happy ending series#happy ending pilot#Infrared#fan theories#jeff satur#thai series

washington and his vent letter to hamilton that ends with "but hey i'm not going to vent, hope you're doing well."
on july 10th, 1787, washington wrote hamilton a really interesting letter from philadelphia. at this point, hamilton had rage quit the constitutional convention due to being cockblocked every single time by the two other new york delegates, yates and lansing, and washington is holding fort. this letter's the one with the famous closing, where he very candidly, especially for washington, says:
"I am sorry you went away—I wish you were back."
on one hand, it's kind of cute and says a lot about the mending of their relationship after The Staircase Incident. clearly there's trust and understanding of each other for washington to speak so plainly.
but what gets me every time is what follows that revealing line:
"I am sorry you went away—I wish you were back. The crisis is equally important and alarming, and no opposition under such circumstances should discourage exertions till the signature is fixed. I will not, at this time trouble you with more than my best wishes and sincere regards. I am Dear Sir Yr obedt Servt"
bitch please. this letter is a short three paragraphs and it's washington venting and going "alert alert things aren't going well things aren't going well." he uses the phrase "i almost despair of seeing a favourable issue...and do therefore repent having had any agency in the business". in my modern interpretation that translates to "fuck this i should've minded my own business".
and this man has the audacity to end that letter with "but nah i'm not going to bother you now with this shit. hope you're doing well!"
sir - you can't just say "i will not trouble you with more than my best wishes and sincere regards" RIGHT AFTER troubling someone. maybe he meant it like "okay at this time, as in after i burdened you with bad news, i will not burden you any longer. i will only burden you now with good vibes!" which makes more sense but is still so funny to me.
on one hand it's probably the political savviness? slyness? that historians seem more comfortable acknowledging about washington now. obviously washington knew that him saying all this is definitely going to trouble hamilton, and he does come back - i think this letter played some part in that.
but i like to think that part of it was just due to washington being petty and dramatic. tell me this doesn't sound like every teen conversation where a long rant ends with "but maybe that's just me. i'm just being dramatic lol ignore me".

hi, sorry. i just wanted a place to rant and uh. this got away from me. feel free to ignore this! sending love to you and all my fellow bucktommies! <3
can i say this: "playing the field" is a bullshit argument. if you (general) had to experience Every Single Thing in life until you are "wise enough" to make choices and have commitments as a grown ass adult, none of these couples could be together. wdym athena didn't sleep with tons of women and trans people before choosing bobby? she cannot possibly know that she loves bobby, a person with a penis, because sHe HaSn'T pLaYeD tHe FiElD enough yet! because what if her "last" is actually not bobby? bobby could die tomorrow. it's not unlikely. athena doesn't know when he might die. bobby doesn't know when athena might die. they don't know if maybe some hurdle will break them someday. and still, we see them treat each other as "their lasts" and investing in their shared future. that is what humans do.
the fact of life is this: you have billions of human beings on this planet and thus plenty of options every day that you have to choose from. that also means that when you made that choice, your are aware that you forfeit the opportunity to get a different outcome. that goes for every single friendship, relationship, hookup, job offer, hobby, place to live, and so forth. realistically, none of us will ever have it all. that is not possible. buck is a firefighter and thus forfeits the opportunity to be a teacher or a zoologist. buck is living in his loft, thus forfeits the opportunity to buy a house. buck buys a couch, thus forfeits the opportunity to have a different one.
that is LIFE, baby.
if the 911 writers think that one must have lots of sex to know when one is in love, well! good news! buck did that already in season 1! buck went through multiple "updates" to learn what he wants. "love" is not suddenly a completely different and unknown concept to buck. he has loved before. he is loving people right now. he has lived through more things than any other person ever will in their lifetime. has experienced eye-opening trauma that clearly says that life is fucking short. and you tell me that after all this he just accepts that others tell him what he supposedly feels? nah fam. this is once again feeling like buck is just "going with the flow" because despite 7 seasons of development, he still seems to let others tell him what he thinks and feels and wants. i'm pretty sure he knows what he wants. buck told tommy that he thinks what he wants could be with tommy. he said it from the beginning. but then the show suddenly pulls a 180 and decided that, actually, buck is unwilling to put in any work.
bobby's first wife and mother of his children died, and nobody questions that his love for athena is real. eddie's wife and love of his life died, and everybody is still hoping he finds another great love after her. you can never know what happens in life, and none of that diminishes the fact that love is real and meaningful and worthy to fight for when you are feeling it! just like chimney went after maddie and pushed to support her despite maddie herself telling buck to not tell chim where she is (which buck respected and got punched for as a thanks). chim explicitly went against maddie's wishes because he knew this was a moment to fight for and support maddie.
just like the old tommy said: "you make it". and that's exactly it! buck has tons of options nd he could find "the one" in multiple people. until buck is dead, he will continue to have options. and it will be a continuous choice to stay in a committed relationship regardless of the other options that will always be there, no matter who he ends up with in the end. that is how life is. he could sleep with thousands of women and men and still be alone because sex with strangers is an investment into something "fun", yes, but not something that is a committed relationship. buck has learned that lesson in season 1. at some point in life, you either choose one person and put effort into that relationship, or you will never make any choice at all and thus never have any of "the ones" that you could have had.
buck can choose to invest his time in meaningless hookups. that is a valid choice to make. however, we know that buck was unhappy with that. why are they trying to reheat a 6-year-old moudly soup?
bucktommy is not even a "the one that got away" story for that reason. we know that both tommy and buck actually want commitment. they are literally on the same page. and instead of fucking committing, of intentionally choosing each other day after day after day, communicating about their insecurities and feelings and needs some more... they suddenly pull back completely? what the actual fuck is that logic? either you want to be in a committed in a relationship or not. make a choice. most people literally talk about that on the first date. making tommy pull back like that after 6 months is horrible, but making buck accept this without any pushback is frankly stupid. THAT would have been the moment to fucking fight for this relationship and point out that "yes, i could easily go fuck other people with different genitalia and guess what, i have been aware of that option existing this whole time but the point is that i INTENTIONALLY CHOOSE to be WITH YOU". but for some reason... nothing. poof. done.
and then i think back to red's story and how it affected buck tremendously... how red put his work first for decades and that he always regretted not investing more into his true love which he met when he was young... red did not choose the person he loved. he chose his job. he did not put in the effort to build a relationship, did not take any risk, and was thus had to live with the consequences of his own actions (living utterly alone after retiring because colleagues are not forever). and that is the thing: there will be what-ifs and consequences in all our lives. you can only be on one (1) path at a time. there will be chances missed. lives you maybe could have had. but this is not how real life works. so you either start making intentional choices and accepting the fact that all of life includes risk and potential heartbreak, or you will regret living as if you are paralyzed.
just. sorry. i didn't plan for my rant to be so long but i'm still so mad at this bullshit take that they gave to tommy of all people. i love tommy, he isn't at fault here. i love buck, he isn't at fault here. the writing in the last episode, however, is really making me fucking mad. it's so condescending and disrespectful to buck as a character but most importantly to bisexual/pansexual people. just because "there are more options" for bisexual people does not mean that the dilemma isn't the same for every human being. if you want love, you have to choose it. you have to work for it. you have to fight for it. you have to communicate what you want and need. you have to be a team with your partner to deal with hurdles together.
this has nothing to do with the size of the dating pool. it's about knowing what you want. all characters in a committed relationship, namely athena, bobby, chimney, maddie, hen, and karen, all have a big potential dating pool. they could all sleep around forever if they wanted. they could test every kink under the sun. however, they do not want to sleep around. it's as simple as that. and there is nothing wrong with you if you intentionally pass by certain opportunities. people know what they want. this is like men telling women that their life will never be "complete" if they don't have children of their own. like how fucking condescending is it to assume that you know what's best for another person when they are mature enough to form their own opinions?!
with how they have written buck for the past 7 seasons, it seemed like he wants commitment. this was established in the pilot episode. but if he just "accepts his fate" and sleep around now, no strings attached? well. okay. so what i am hearing is that either buck still does not know what he wants in life or that the past 7 seasons are a lie and actually his key to happiness is fucking strangers. either way, he has been stagnant for years in this endeavor.
buck and tommy could have easily fought for this to work. this was the perfect opportunity. but they didn't. and now i really think that they have truly lost the plot with buck's overarching storyline. very saddening.
You took the words right out of my mouth, Nonnie.
Sending you so much love as well, and, please, keep speaking your truth. 🫶

The box on your desk was mocking you, or at least that's what it felt like. It was a large box, one that was often used for moving your clothes or such and not really for paper. A peek inside was enough for you to groan in annoyance and the note that read 'has to be finished by tonight' didn't make it any better. You knew well enough that your boss, Myung-Hee, was doing this just so she could take out her frustrations on you at the end of the day. But you were competitive and there was no way that you'd give her that satisfaction, so you were determined to finish everything.
The first document was quickly finished, only two pages long and you only needed to fill in a few blank spots. Then the second document came along, this time twenty pages long and you had to search most things in the system. Unfortunately for you, the rest of the fifty documents were also twenty pages or more. So by lunch, you were only done with a quarter of the work.
"Are you coming, (y/n)?" One of your co-workers spoke up and you looked up from the papers before sighing softly, stretching your limps and grinning at the satisfying pops.
"Can you just bring me back a sandwich? The usual one." You asked and although she seemed a bit disappointed in you, she agreed nonetheless. You looked at the papers again before getting up for coffee. You didn't usually drink coffee during work hours, but right now you didn't have much of a choice since your eyes stared losing focus from the letters on the papers. So you moved to the coffee machine and taking one of the paper cups to pour it in. After drinking it, you went back to work. Every piece of paper felt like it took an eternity to finish and working while eating was a bit more difficult, but you tried your best. You didn't really pay attention to the time, you were too immersed into the stupid letters to notice the lack of sunlight. It wasn't until your last co-worker left that you noticed, but only because he told you. Yet, you had over twenty documents left...
With a glum face, you took the finished documents to Myung-Hee's office and knocked with your foot. The door was opened and Myung-Hee stepped aside to let you in, but the smirk on her face said enough. Weirdly enough, she just replied with a thank you before requesting that you leave. So you did.
"Are you still not finished?" Your co-worker asked and you shook your head, sinking in your seat with a loud sigh.
"Just two more, which means forty more pages." You mumbled before yawning loudly, covering your mouth in surprise before groaning again. Luckily, you were finished by lunch and ready to down after bring Myung-Hee the final documents.
"So, you're finally finished?" Her voice was clearly meant to be mean, but you honestly didn't care. So you dropped the paper before walking out.
"Hey! I'm talking to you!" Myung-Hee didn't even care if anyone heard her, marching after you and roughly turning you around. She started her rant of how the papers had to be finished yesterday and now she was behind as well, causing clients to get annoyed. You hardly believed her and if it was true, it was her fault for delivering the documents to you so late. Nonetheless, you stayed quiet since she was still your senior and boss.
"How are you still working here? You barely do anything and if you do, you do it wrong." She sneered and you rolled your eyes, which she quickly noticed and suddenly you felt a slap on your cheek that made you flinch harshly to the side. The pain in your cheek was barely felt as rage took over your body, boiling over your limit and the it snapped.
"You really think you're above everyone else here?!" You exclaimed as you got closer to the woman, ignoring the whispers around you from the people that had never seen you like this. They were used to the kind and sweet you, not this version.
"You're not better than anyone here, you scam and threaten people to win your cases! You barely do any of your own work and I know this, because I do it! There is not a day that I wished you'd dissapear or that Cha-Young stayed instead of you. At least she did her work, the good and the bad." You sneered, not even trying to control the words that rolled from your tongue. You were well aware of how horrible you sounded, but you honestly didn't care at this point.
"You're a vile woman that I wish didn't even ex-" "That's enough now, darling." Han-Seok's voice rang from behind you and a hand covered your mouth. You bit it, ignoring the loud whine from Han-Seok as you turned back to trying to berate the woman before you. You didn't get the chance as Han-Seok lifted you with ease, throwing you over his shoulder like you were a large bag of sand. You shrieked, hitting Han-Seok's back to be released. Han-Seok didn't budge, instead he walked to the elevator. As the doors closed, you were dropped on the ground again. You fell down on your butt and glared up at Han-Seok, who only kneeled down before you after pressing the button for the top floor aka his office.
"I was talking..." "You call that talking?" He asked and you rolled your eyes at him before hissing when Han-Seok lifted your chin. Your eyes connected and you could see the switch in his eyes, no longer pretending to be sweet Jun-Woo and rather now his true self as Han-Seok. It was something that usually scared you a bit, but now it didn't.
"You have no idea how attractive you are when you're mad, do you?" His smirk spoke wonders for your imagination, thoughts racing through your head. The man before you only smiled before placing a soft kiss on your forehead before leaning down even more so his eyes were on the same level as yours.
"So fix it, baby."

aa !! i'm so glad to have found someone who writes cry of fear x readers!! could i request simon with a reader who doesnt usually show emotion, but one night just has a meltdown while theyre hanging out?
have a great day/night!! :D
Life is tough
Simon x reader!
This diary entry contains: Mental breakdownsl Established relationship|Simon is such a sweet heart in this| may be short idk
HIII IM SORRY FOR JUST POOFING OUT OF THIN AIR FOR A BIT BUT!! Im back and im supposed to be getting a new laptop today so thats fun!
I really hope you do enjoy this🥳
You and Simon were alike in so many ways.Maybe it was the fact the both of you guys had a hard time opening up and communicating.Unlike Simon who had a therapist and tried to talk to people you kept yourself all shut it.
You hated crying around people and you weren’t a big fan of smiling as much.People never understood you like Simon did because Simon was understanding and didnt push you to show emotions like other people.
that was all until one night when you went to hang out with simon. You had been on edge all day.It started with your teacher putting you on blast in front of the class for slacking off,Then at lunch you spilled milk on yourself which did end up starting to smell forcing you to haunt down simon to borrow his hoodie for the rest of the day.
on the train ride to his house you nearly tripped in front of a group of college kids who tried to hold in their laughter. You felt embarrassed as you sat down in the seat in the far back.
You just wanted to go ghost and not speak to anyone besides simon and close friends.Once you arrived at his house you stared at the house as kids played in the streets and colored on the sidewalk.
you felt so out of place in a way.So gloomy stuck in a colorful place.you push open the gate before walking up the steps. The sound of the steps must have alerted his mother as she came rushing to open the door and greet you.
"(Y/N)! it's so sweet to see you after all this time"She said while pulling you in for a hug.The smell of her perfume filled your nose as you hugged her back.
"Simon is in his room,He seemed so excited to spend some time with you im truly happy he found you"She said as allowed you in.You nodded as you made your way through the familar house layout.
Coming up to the door you knew belonged to simon,You knocked a couple of times before hearing the sound of a window opening, coughing and something being sprayed.
his bedroom door swung open as he smiled slightly. No words were exchanged as you shuffled into his room.He closed the door before looking at you with a worried expression.
"Did something happen? You look upset"He asked while sitting on his bed.You felt hot tears fill your eyes slowly at the question.Simon took noticed and open his arms slightly. You walked over before plopping into his arms and letting out a chocked sob.
"I try so hard simon and it's like nobody understands besides you.I keep messing up while trying to be good at things and it's eating at me slowly"You ranted as tears fell from your eyes.
Simon rubbed your back as he nodded before placing a gentle kiss on your forehead."I know it may seem hard and trust me i know but something i learned is that you have to learn how to well do things on your own without trying to be good for other people"He explained.
You sniffled as it went quiet besides the sounds of the kitchen sink being faintly heard and kids screaming at each other. After a bit of crying in his arms,Simon placed you in his bed before laying next to you.
"Your very speical and you shouldnt be so worried about how people think of you.Just know i think your a cool person even if you barely show your emotions"He explained while pulling the blankets over you the both of you.
"I had something's planned for us but they can wait you clearly need a nap"Simon said while holding you close and closing his eyes. You slowly copied his movement as you felt safer in his arms.
for once you were glad you showed some emotion to simon because now you know you can rely on him to comfort you.

A lil rant about cast shipping
OH. MY. GOD.
The commentary about actor personal relationships has actually made me scared to come on here. When any related hashtags trend, I'm like "WHY?"
This happens in every fandom, but I honestly give props to the Bridgerton actors for keeping composure and not leading with resentment towards the life changing dream that feeds them or the stupid quote-unquote fans that need to focus on the show, because I could never! Also, that 99% of their actors successfully remain private, which I completely understand why when people act the way they do.
And why they try to protect some of their private lives..maybe clearly exhibited in the fact that some of you did this the last time! -that people were so intrusive, (coming from someone who's not even that in the know and very out of the loop until large amounts of attention are brought to it) that his last gf seemed visibly overwhelmed by some of the total lack of boundaries. And that the threats over "rejecting" a fictional character & "he should be w/her" apparently went too far that Nicola had to willingly step in. And if you think, "it's harmless, I of course would never do that"... these parasocial relationships foster a following to people that will absolutely do that and join your hive mentality.
But, seriously..thinking that anything was done wrong here by the cast...Let me break down these arguments, because I've actually been biting my tongue on this:
"Finding out he had a gf ruined the show for me because of the premiere." I think it's time for therapy, and learning to separate fiction from reality.
Perhaps this is where some of the pre-conceived notions & outrage for the show came from (idk).
"If he would have waited, it would have been better and we could accept it." You liar! NEXT.
"But he lied. I feel cheated. They both led us on to believe what they wanted us to." This is laughable. They told 98 billion times that they were friends, they flat out said they weren't dating before Part 1 even hit the screens, and you were like "they're lying! hehehe. They don't know themselves.." including interviewers in the final stretch, which is so so pathetic of them
People were flat out telling you that they weren't dating & about personal relationships (fyi I think Nicola has had a long-term bf as well; so sad 4 u~honestly not positive on this but i think), and fans were very much NOT discreet about these significant others on every platform.
"I hate that it's PR." Again, I don't think they lied to you about being friends. I don't even think they played up aspects of their relationship. There's a great read somewhere on why they fall back on handholding and being affectionate. I honestly feel sorry for some of you that there's such a harsh line between what's platonic and what's romantic/that every affectionate interaction for you=romantic love and 'we should date.' If you're stupid and see what you want, that's on you.
If you're one of these people, know that I hate you. The press reaction is honestly the worst part of every single one of these shows.
The entitlement of this fandom knows no bounds (thank God some of you are sane).
#i found out thru a grown a** woman ranting on tt; Let that sink in#Do you rly think it takes 5 years for ppl to decide they want to be together???#<..dear god they ACTUALLY connected them to the characters#...except they are adults unlike polin when they met#bridgerton#luke newton#nicola coughlan

Remember that scene from episode 7, when Aemond tries to approach Jace on Driftmark, looking like he is about to offer his condolences but at the same time knows he shouldn't because even Jace can't acknowledge his real father? And Jace looks somewhat annoyed and Aemond leaves, then Jace glances at Aegon who is already in his cups and doesn't even notice him? There were no scenes like that in season 2. Short but meaningful, the scenes that reveal so much about the characters involved. We have Aemond who even after being mocked by his nephews still can sympathise with them in a way and the two (Aemond/Jace) can give us a 'what if' moment that creates the ultimate fallout more tragic. Then we have Jace who obviously is interested more in Aegon as a ringleader, an older boy he looks up to, and yet, it's Aemond, the boy he mocks for not having a dragon, the one who approaches him. These kind of scenes are important for the character building and also for making a stronger emotional impact on the audience when it comes to the fate of the mentioned characters. S2 had none of this and destroyed and undid whatever s1 built character and story-wise. Aemond's and Alicent's characters suffered the most, no doubt, but it was bad in general.
Also, in the balcony scene it's obvious how helaena and aemond have a great chemistry and it just made me even more mad because they had so little screentime together in both seasons. Same goes for Aegond. It's criminal they had zero good scenes , save for that one in e6 that is just used to not so subtly remind us that Aemond is a sadist. Also, why wouldn't Aemond just finish Aegon off because as long as he lives, Aemond is not safe? The answer: in the book he obviously didn't try to kill him at RR and therefore wouldn't want to kill him in the aftermath either, but these idiots just needed their shitty change to all of the sudden make Aemond a one dimensional villain, make Aegon as pitiful as possible and to show how terrible and dysfunctional the greens are as a family. However, they couldn't just kill Aegon off so early and that's why they attempted to fix their stupid plothole with that scene when Aemond threatens him. Like, what?? I'm supposed to believe that was enough for Aegon to shut up for weeks and then just leave? Nah. There were bunch of similar idiocies through the whole season and I'm sure that something seriously went wrong between s1 and 2 because the drop in quality is jarring. I'm not saying s1 was that great, but this one was abysmal. Probably Miguel leaving was one of the main reasons, but whatever it was, this season will remain a great example of what not to do when you make a TV show. I just feel sorry for the lost potential and also for the people who are planning to watch s3 because, unless you're a die hard tb stan with zero critical thinking skills, I can't see the appeal.
Ugh, I hope this rant makes sense 😅
Hello, and thank you for the ask!
You're making a very good point. Season 1 was by no means perfect; but there was at least some if not love then genuine investment in the story and the characters from the showrunners - one could feel that at least occasionally. I guess it really came from Sapochnik's end because Condal clearly couldn't care less. The show used to have a soul - and now it feels empty. And, as it has been proven time and time again through the entirety of cinematic history, it is virtually impossible to create a truly good film or TV show if you don't give a damn about its essence.
I saw some people calling season 2 "a trailer for season 3" - because of how underwhelming and lacking in substance it turned out to be, I assume. To me it feels like something in between a trailer for the things to come and a recap of an actual season that was filmed but not shown to us for some reason. Pretty much everything feels superficial - even the dragged out scenes supposedly added for symbolism purposes or whatnot. The relationships between the characters are underdeveloped at best, destroyed at most (for example, chemistry between Green siblings' actors is utterly wasted indeed); some plot points make no sense; quite a few characters seem to have got a personality transplant in between the seasons.
Actually, I can understand why people, even TG fans would still be willing to watch season 3 (some for Aegon and Larys storyline, some for Alysmond - whatever form it takes, some for other reasons which could be many). As for me though - at the risk of sounding too dramatic - I had too much heart poured into this show and got hurt too badly by what it has become to even think of continuing to watch it without feeling sick. At least, for now.

I have suddenly gotten very hyper-fixated on FNF vs Sonic.exe (insert update/ encore) which led to me being back into Sonic and Sonic.exe, Then I found your blog while catching up on 10 years of missed lore and I am over the moon!!! I love the corruption!AU its gorgeous, I just read through everything I could in the tag lol I do have a few questions though- maybe suggestions to stew ups some ideas, just suggestions <3 I saw a post about how did Sonic get infected? My brain went right to "How did The Rot get on the planet? Was it dwelling underground or..." What my brain went to was an astroid and Sonic being Sonic went to check it out, because he's the hero! he has to make sure people are okay! But that made me think? Would Sonic be patient zero? or are there a bunch of others who have turned already? City's are canon within the comics. The Rot wants to infect would it restrain itself? Say like scoping the area, say go out act as normal as possible and observe others, looking for the biggest group of people (family, friends, etc.) strategizing basically? or does it attack first chance? would it be able to use its host's "powers" like chaos control, Sonic's speed, Silver's telegnosis, and Espio's invisibility? What does it do when there's nothing left to consume? one last thing, wherever it comes from, would it have to practice speaking? like patient zero, being the first to be consumed, would it have to "test it out"? Sorry for the rant, I'm just in love!! <3 It has my gears turning
I’m glad you like the au! This type of story has always been my favourite, so seeing people enjoy it makes me very happy!
A few of these questions have already been answered in previous asks, so I’ll answer the ones that I haven’t answered yet
How did The Rot come to Sonic’s world? Is Sonic patient zero?- Now that’s spoiler territory. You’ll know soon enough. He is ‘patient zero’. That’s all I’ll tell you.
Would The Rot restrain itself from infecting? Does it attack first chance?- The Rot doesn’t have an ‘urge’ to spread. It’s just doing what it wants to do. Like an animal in nature. It will wait as long as it needs to before it infects someone, that wait time can be days or weeks, even months if it comes to that.
Would it have to practice speaking?- Not exactly. It already knows how to speak as it can simulate lungs and vocal cords and whatever else it needs to speak. Though it takes a while before their hosts voice becomes less layered and growly and more clear and unsuspecting. The more hosts it has, the easier it can be to speak clearly. Until then, it rarely speaks in front of others, only saying short words or sentences when it needs to.
What does it do when there’s nothing left to consume?- Well, there has been a thought bubbling around in my mind about that for a while… but I sure ain’t gonna tell you it. You’re just gonna have to figure that question out yourself.
