hhhhhhh i’m so sick of not knowing my diagnosis. like. is it something that can be fixed? or is it a chronic illness? should i get a cane so i can minimize the pain and fatigue and stabilize myself when i’m lightheaded and nauseous? and help me get to the bathroom when i’m near bedridden? or can i just like. take a pill and oop it’s gone forever you’re better now. this same shit happened last year with the chronic appendicitis. that i didn’t know was appendicitis for the first 2 months. that doctors came up with tons of tests and possible diagnoses that were all negative until i was finally hospitalized. that the surgeon told me was impossible to remove until i got a competent surgeon 3 months later who took it out easy. i wish doctors were better and actually listened and could order the right tests the first time and insurance companies stop canceling tests without telling you because they think it’s not essential and the people conducting the tests actually gave a shit about getting conclusive results. aghhhhhhh. anyway next appointment is in a week and i’m going to stop minimizing how much this is affecting me.

I've said this before but valjean's view of the bishop throughout the book gets me so bad because like. he knew him for what, a day maybe? and it absolutely had a vast & profound & positive impact on him. but then he goes on to spend the whole book comparing himself to his idealized vision of the bishop & finding himself wanting & feeling guilty and miserable about every petty or selfish thought that crosses his mind. but it's so fucked up because like we as the readers know the bishop better! we've read the whole first book and we know he came from a privileged & wealthy background, that he was a rake when he was young, it wasn't til he was in his 40s or 50s to have some sort of change of heart & become a priest (a similar age to valjean when he met him!), that he has moments that seriously shake him, that he has some dubious politics left over, that he still has moments of pettiness he has to work through on the page (his initial approach to the member of the convention, e.g.). and also he's just kind of a weird old guy (affectionate). and like this is not to criticize the bishop, I think he's a genuinely really good guy, just that while the bishop has a realistic view of himself & his past ("he described himself with a smile, an ex-sinner,"), valjean is not getting any of this except maybe like. what would be mentioned in the newspaper when the bishop died. so his whole view of him is of this one shining moment where he changed his life and he feels he doesn't live up to that. which is sad! because the bishop understood him more than he realized & wouldn't have wanted him to feel that way

Treat it like vocabulary is going out of style. Read a book and find a word you've never heard in conversation before, sometime so specific or stuffy nobody bothers with it anymore. Take it. Write it down, stick it in a post-it note on your wall. Never let go of it. It's yours now. The ultra-specifics may be hard to use, but they're evocative—The chances you get to use them are worth it!

Act like being misunderstood is the worst thing that could ever happen to you. This seems to often be a common skill for people with ADHD (which I'll admit I have been told I have a severe case of), but that doesn't mean it's a neurosis worth gatekeeping. You can overexplain yourself with quantity or with quality, often even both. Quality is where your steel trap of words come in: There's always a better way to say something, and you can and will find it.

As for more in-depth things, I'd say it's always worth a shot to look into whatever resources are available to you about rhetoric and rhetorical devices (yes, up to and including all of the ones that are just greek prefixes and suffixes stuck together. they're all quite lovely).

Hammering it over your head that you have to read classics specifically feels like old news, so I'll say that while it's nothing you have to do right now, those tend to be chock-full of the great words and great phrases, and after you've developed your hunger to a certain point you're probably going to want to seek them out anyways. —But by no means are you limited to just Shakespeare or whatever other things they never assigned you in high school! Tailor what you look for to your own tastes!Plus, there's a million more authors out there, Brazilian and Japanese and Vietnamese and Iranian, etc. I'd say Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison is totally worth checking out if you can, and I'll get back to you once I've read enough Álvares de Azevedo to recommend things lol!!!

Anyway, tl;dr is: Vocabulary is both a treasure you collect and a muscle you flex. I think the most important part might just be the exercise and practice. You can even do this by writing! Stick it in a google doc nobody but you has to see and just write bullshit and write bullshit and read between sessions of writing bullshit and then edit your bullshit and then write more... and eventually you'll start to get a better sense of what you want and your writing and speaking will reflect that.

So I figured, since Mabel destroyed the memory eraser and Bill would probably not have fallen for the same thing twice anyway, the obvious choice is the zodiac wheel again.

BUT.

What if instead of it all being the same person in the same spot as they were in the finale, why not have their positions switched around a bit. The obvious examples being Wendy as pine tree since she and Dipper swapped hats and Soos since he took over as owner of the Mystery Shack and also Stan's iconic hat. I *may* try to plot out who would go where and share the rest of that stuff on here, but I think this idea would work really well when you contextualize it with the concept that even though time has passed and people have grown and changed and are no longer the same as they once were, they're still just as strong and still care for each other and their bond will never be broken.

Much like the people who loved this show.

Iv thought about it for a long while, and the closest iv fuggin got was "jacksepticeye" and fuggin Danny DeVito (specifically the one dialog of him saying "I'M THE TRASH MAN" and "Can I offer you an egg in this tryin' time?") LMAOOO I'm not very good at voice claims you see (Iv gotten an ask once saying Mob Rob looks like he'd sound like fuggin Corpse Husband- if I had a nickel for every time I had someone say one of my characters would sound like corpse I'd have two nickels- which isn't alot- but weird that it happened twice-)

you can make the argument that not every single scene in a fictional work has to have a Point, and i would agree

however i can't think of many such scenes in aftg (maybe because it's in neil's pov)

and even then i just think that andrew choking kevin should be considered pretty significant

due to kevin's situation he was andrew's priority for most of the year

andrew patted him down to check for injuries

andrew punched matt for punching kevin, twice

andrew drugged neil because he didn't trust how neil looked at kevin

andrew did hurt kevin once previously, during trk when kevin shoved him into the lockers

the difference being:

this suggests kevin isn't worried that andrew will seriously hurt him (shoutout to matt for getting ready to interfere if a fight broke out :'D)

whereas post-choking we get this:

this suggests he thinks andrew would do it again or something in that vein

and yet apart from this it doesn't appear to change their relationship
