DAI — oh you know he is. boy's whole build and vibe is built around "take me instead" MINAH — not typically—she generally finds martyrdom stupid and useless and keeps as far from it as she can—but there are a few situations where she might take on some martyr-esque qualities.

DAI — people getting into his personal business. stupidity. ozy, when he's in a Mood(tm) MINAH — when nobles are being Nobles about shit. she has negative patience for entitlement, especially when it comes with a side of expectation and obliviousness. also, intense prying. leave her alone

B15. Does your OC enjoy social events, such as parties, clubs, et cetera..?

DAI — not as a rule, but there are a few exceptions. he doesn't mind so much as long as he can sit in a corner and watch his friends enjoy themselves MINAH — yeah! she loves a social event; she enjoys seeing people and seeing (or being) entertainment. lots to do, plenty of pockets to pick, and generally a fun time overall!

F2. What’s their ideal home look like? Where is it?

DAI — a small, cozy, two-story house in a city he knows. the kind of place where people can come and go and stay when they need to, but where he can also retreat to somewhere warm and sunny and quiet when he needs. the selto townhouse came close, to be honest, except that it wasn't anywhere near home. whatever else happens, his roots are in airedon. MINAH — a big house, filled with family. gone.

L2. What do you consider the biggest themes in your character, if any?

DAI — not to fall back on his divine aspects but it's shields and the sun. standing between people and danger, being a light in the dark, burning himself up, unflinching and solid no matter how many times he's struck. good golden boy 💛 MINAH — masks. performing all the time, even to yourself, even until you aren't sure when or where the performance ends. also rootlessness: always on the move, ungrounded, unable to ever return home again and knowing you wouldn't be the same person even if you could go back

pulling names out of a hat for that ship meme - how about lyna for yloise?

oh, lyna is far too good for yloise, in almost every sense. there's something that approaches a very deep moment of connection when lyna lets yloise witness her breakdown following the attack at lakeland, but it's not romantic in any sense. just human.

in some sort of contrived scenario in which they did end up together, i'd imagine it would have to happen under the assumption that yloise has been spending so much time helping out at the crystarium (at the facet, with levequests, etc etc) and just ending up with the two of them spending time together at the end of a long day of Do-Goodery and maybe having evening tea together watching the sun set could lead to admissions of loneliness and the realities of being left behind by loved ones

still not sure if it would lead to a romance exactly, but i think these two should talk regardless

3. What is the meaning behind their name? Do they have any nicknames?

MINAH — according to my favorite naming site behindthename.com, minah is an alternate spelling of mina which means "fish" in sanskrit and "azure" or "enamel" in persian. I picked it cause I saw it in something I was reading and liked it. I don't think she has any nicknames (min? minnie? warden? hey you??). her surname, vo, is made up. NARAYANI — doylist explanation: it's an epithet for the Hindu goddesses Lakshmi and Durga; I chose it because it had the sound/cadence I was looking for and I liked that the associations were with things like beauty and the unattainable. watsonian explanation: it's her clan's pronunciation/spelling of na'alhani ("wild soul" roughly). her nicknames are rani and da'alhani (clan pron. darayani; means little wilderness). her patronymic is iravel after the elder who cared for her as a girl and her clan name is lavellan as per DA canon. DAICHI — daichi's name means "great earth" or "great wisdom" and was the perfect pick for my earth genasi cleric. his nickname is dai but tbh I'm not sure how many people actually use it; I think even the party may tend to full name him. his surname, amelkiir, comes from a name generator and is made up.

MINAH — grey warden! previously she was a traveling performer and part-time thief (honestly she's still a part-time thief. it's not like the wardens are paying her) NARAYANI — clan hunter/spy turned inquisition agent turned inquisitor turned spy again, only without the clan. rip. DAICHI — .....is demigod an occupation? I guess technically traveling adventurer. previously he was an acolyte and a garrison healer.

52. What is their body type? Are they muscular, chubby, skinny, etc?

MINAH — compact, highly flexible, on the curvy side. excellent shoulders, but not much by way of muscle mass beyond that NARAYANI — small, wiry, all lean muscle. runner's body. exceedingly fast and flexible DAICHI — stout, dense, sort of rectangular. soft tummy, thick thighs, high muscle mass. should be playing rugby

71. How are they with children? Do they have any? Do they want any?

MINAH — minah's fine with kids—she can entertain them for a bit; young audiences are always easily impressed—but she doesn't know what to do with them long-term (teenagers are a little better; she prefers when they can look out for themselves). at one point she was looking forward to having her own, but nowadays she has absolutely no interest in being a mom. NARAYANI — rani has experience caring for (and teaching) the clan's kids, and she's good with them—far more patient and gentle than she is with almost anyone else. she's never had any particular desire for kids of her own. (but if there were a solavellan baby— [I am forcibly removed from the microblogging platform]) DAICHI — dai's never had much opportunity to be around kids unless you count the god baby the party helped create. he'd honestly never thought about kids before that but oh boy did the godling awaken something in him. not right now obviously but long term? yeah that man super wants to be a dad. (unfortunately I am not sure his boyfriend wants to be a dad but they've got literally eternity to figure it out so it's fine)

MINAH — answered! DAI — somewhere under the demi/gray part of the aroace umbrella, but he doesn't have that kind of terminology. he just figured he Wasn't Interested In Relationships until suddenly he was

50. How would you describe their style of clothing? How would they describe their style of clothing?

MINAH — I'd describe her casual fit(s) as itinerant mediterranean with a thedas twist (sort of antivan with accents). she'd describe it as "the most decent shit I could get my hands on" and "borrowed from past admirers" and "comfortable" DAI — I'd describe it as late renaissance french meets hanbok with added western european medieval armor styling. he'd describe it as traditional airedon clerical garb heavily augmented and improved with whatever the style of the planet-du-jour is. (he got really into sneakers when he was introduced to them)

56. What do they smell like? Why do they smell like this? (Is it the things they’re around or a perfume they wear?)

MINAH — minah likes perfumes and has a nice collection of them, but she doesn't use them much while she's on the road. usually she smells like the faintly herbal soap she uses and a bit like the road (dust, sweat, horse, etc). when in town or performing, she'll play around more with perfumes DAI — dai's natural scent is a little rich and earthy (he's an earth genasi) but lately it's picked up a sort of searing edge, like the sun baking the earth on a hot summer day, or maybe even a hint of ozone. it comes from ascending to demigodhood

79. What is their economic situation?

MINAH — uhhhhhh heavily augmented. she's a good thief and currently has quite a bit of gold on her person, but she spent a while with absolutely nothing to her name and the fear of ending up like that again really sticks, even when she's got coin in her purse. her situation always feels precarious since she's always on the move. DAI — comfortable, but just normal-person comfortable not secretly-rich-and-trying-to-downplay-it comfortable. for a while the party's monetary situation was Dire, but he's doing alright at the moment, and he and his dad have always managed to get by without worrying too much.
