Blood Ties is sooooo good! Omg! I feel like everything I've seen so far from FilmRise has been (looking at you Wiseguy!!). This one is not the greatest interpretation of vampire lore I've seen (but to be fair I'm not a big vampire person so I really can't judge that too much). BUT the main three characters (four if you include Coreen) are just brilliant to watch. The title is so accurate too cause the three leads (Mike, Henry, and Vicki) are all connected in multiple ways despite Mike and Henry's disdain for each other (I won't spoil any more...but their relationship is very, very fun to watch!) It's like Mike is the "vanilla", can-do-no-wrong cop, while Henry's the "rocky road" option: dangerous and mysterious but at the same time extremely chivalrous and charming. And both constantly compete for Vicki's attention despite Vicki being the most bad a, indepedent woman to ever grace the silver screen...seriously though, Vicki is like the definition of what you want in a female heroine. 10/10 recommend watching for the trio dynamic of the main three characters. The stories themselves are again not the best I've seen in supernatural television...but to be fair I'd call it on par with creatures/quality of plot you'd find in shows like Grimm (And I love Grimm...it can just be a tad bit unbelieveable at times...same in Blood Ties). Overall, I highly recommend Blood Ties to any supernatural tv show fan out there! It only has 2 seasons, so it would be a short binge. But the characters (including side characters...yay!!) and over-arching plot line are AMAZING...so 100% worth a watch! Can be found on Amazon Prime...not sure about other streaming sites, but there for sure.

Henry x Charlie and Gordon x Viktoria
Let‘s summarize these two ships:
The two that fought through a train wreck of a past. And the reluctant king/queen that are alive by chance.
But most importantly their respective dynamics is adorable. Henry and Charlie are fiercely devoted to one another and would bury the dead bodies of their enemies no questions asked. Meanwhile Vicky and Gordon appear very professional and restrained. But they actually are really cute behind the scenes.

Thoughts on MAWS s2 after the first three episodes:
Clark is still sooooo cute and I adore him 🥰
The show continues to 100% understand the proper themes and tone for Superman media, and I love it for that
So excited to see what they do with Lex! There’s so many flavors to the Superman vs Lex dynamic, and it’ll be fun to see them interact
I’m loving the new characters and teases (Steel, Metallo, Silas Stone and his son)
I know it’s a stupid nitpick, but them referring to John Henry as just John is driving me insane. He’s almost always called by his full name, which is a reference to African American folklore (also connected to his hammer and hero alias), and taking that away feels like diminishing his legacy.
Clark and Lois continue to be totally adorable, but I do think their relationship is missing something. What sets Clois apart from other ships is usually the snarky banter and friendly professional rivalry they have, and in MAWS they’re soooo sweet and lovey-dovey (which is very cute!!!) that I feel their Iconic Dynamic™️ is lacking. Maybe it’s because I watched the entirety of Smallville between MAWS seasons one and two, so I’m really missing Snarky Clois™️.
I have issues with Lois’ characterization right now. Her ignoring Clark’s needs/seemingly wanting him not to investigate Kara’s existence (even though he’s terrified of being Weird and Alone™️ and he’s just learned he has living family!!) feels very OOC because 1) Lois cares about Clark and should understand his needs in this situation, and 2) Lois is constantly driven by curiosity in general, but especially for all things Kryptonian. Her being so self-absorbed is feeling very anti-Lois Lane. WHERE is my nosy reporter/supportive girlfriend? She should be clambering to figure out what’s going on with this mystery Kryptonian. 🤨
Unpopular opinion, but some of the designs continue to be weird for me. Lois’ pixie cut still reminds me of Selina Kyle. For some reason Vicki Vale looks like comics!Lois. WHY
Everything they’re doing with the villains is so cool. I love the ensemble cast, both good and bad. They’re constructing such a cool world! I’m excited to see where things go!

ep 2x8 is weird. like i get why Henry's being a jackass but Mike is being way more of a jackass than usual too, which seems a little weird given what we see in the flashbacks? & there's no real emotional payoff for it? they should have dug into that, at least. like it seems like they're hinting at Mike feeling some kinda way about this whole thing but it's too murky imo.
tbh i think the ep would have been more interesting if Mike and Vicki had switched. like, Mike was the one who had reservations about the case in the first place, and he's becoming more open to spooky stuff, so maybe he's more inclined to hear Charles out, vs Vicki who gets to play the skeptic for once, especially since if mike is right and there's spooky stuff going on it would mean she was wrong about something as a cop. then Mike has to go to Henry for help and we get more of their dynamic. plus since Henry is busy bothering Mike we get to see him work out his issues with her on his own time, vs "well yeah he's mad at her but the show needs a certain amount of henry screentime so go help her anyway." Lam would probably also have Some Things to say about this whole ordeal given her and Mike's whole "how come you talk to Vicki about the spooky stuff but not me" thing. & we could start planting the seeds for later stuff; I think I read that Mike ends ups quitting/getting fired? so this would weave into that well too.

Henry and Patty and George and Creelarke: Have I Changed My Mind About George?
So, like I said earlier today, even If Henry is George, it was still described as Betty/Patty having a crush on George, not the other way around. And in this post, I’m going to talk about a.) the idea of Henry and Patty’s dynamic and how it could tie into creelarke and b.) whether I believe George is Henry.
So, starting with a.), this tweet mentioned the potential of Henry and Patty having a stobin-esque relationship which, regardless of the identity of George, Henry and Betty are clearly connected somehow (which we already knew from the TFS animated trailers), and I think a stobin dynamic (with Patty as Steve with an unrequited crush and gay Henry as Robin), which I think would be perfect.
And that also brings us to Vickie- if Henry is paralleled to Robin, then what about Vickie?
Well, Vickie is a nerd who seems to have a tendency to ramble, and who has some funky hand gestures/an animated personality
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And who else do we know that’s very similar?
Tumblr media
SCOTT!!! SCOTT CLARKE, LOCAL DRAMATIC NERD WIRH FUNKY HAND GESTURES!!! If Scott is paralleled to Vickie, with Patty and Henry being paralleled to Steve and Robin respectively, it would be perfect. Especially with Scott being younger and therefore likely even more Vickie-esque/rambly!!
Tumblr media
I am staring DIRECTLY at the potential for Patty watching as Henry stares at Scott/Scott and Henry with their Gay Vibes vs Patty getting over her crush, like how Steve watches Vickie and Robin/encourages Robin to talk to her.
Now, shifting gears a bit- do I think that George is Henry? Have I changed my mind?
So, first of all, while I’m focusing on what I think is Actually True rather than What I Want To Be True, it’s still worth noting that I don’t mind if Henry is George/like I said, even if he is George, I don’t think theyre going to make him straight/put him into a romance with Patty. I’d love for Henry to be confirmed as George tbh because it would mean that we’re likely to get that Patty-Henry Stobin dynamic which I’d love AND it means that we have more confirmed Henry content (the auditions) to analyze.
And now, as far as what I think is actually happening/whether or not George is Henry:
The whole age thing still throws me for a loop, and it’s one of the main things (in addition to how closely the kid from the audition resembles Lonnie but that’s a whole other works considering that that kid hasn’t to been cast/considering what Stav talked about here with the casting weirdness) that pushed me away from believing that George is Henry.
Like Henry is 12 and Patty’s dialogue in the audition seems to put her as 15+, and I really don’t seem them a.) Having an older teenager crush on a 12 year old or b.) completely ignoring Henry’s canon age and just aging him up. Both of those choices don’t align with what we’ve seen from ST so far as far as relationships (ie imagine S1 Nancy crushing on S1 Dustin, because that’d be a pretty similar age gap/dynamic as Patty and Henry), and just ignoring Henry’s age/changing it doesn’t align with the attention to detail in ST/how specific they’ve been about the Creel family’s ages in the newspapers/how Henry is clearly 12/not a teen in the show, AND the fact that the play has been confirmed as being CANON, so it’s not just an offshoot where they can change whatever.
However, with that said, there’s also all of the weirdness with a.) Alice being listed as being 15 in the Weekly Watcher, b.) Edward moving to Hawkins two years before Henry and the Eddie Munson missing poster age weirdness and c.) the whole Owens vs Victor thing I’ve been posting about (esp today’s posts re: Owens and Victor and TFS) and the potential for timeline/Edward weirdness during TFS which could affect ages because even though Henry is listed as being 12 in the Weekly Watcher, Edward doesn’t ever get his age listed.
Like, I’m still not convinced that George is Henry (and even if he is, I still 1000% think Henry is gay/dont think he’s going to have a romantic relationship with Patty), because the age stuff throws me for a loop. However, I’m more open to the idea of Henry being George if there’s timeline/Edward weirdness messing with Henry’s age because the age thing is one of the big things that makes it difficult to agree that Henry is George.
So, basically, my thoughts on George are mostly the same as they were before- that if they aren’t doing any sort of timeline age weirdness, then it’s extremely unlikely that George is Henry.
The only things that have changed regarding my thoughts on George are:
1.) The fact that the George kid from the audition who REALLY resembles Lonnie wasn’t cast in any role at all, (which again, stav talked here about how that’s weird).
This changed my thoughts is because part of my reason for believing that George isn’t Henry was the fact that the kid in the audition REALLY resembles Lonnie and did NOT resemble Henry at all.
2.) The fact that the guy who was cast as Victor REALLY resembles Owens, and how the lady cast as Virginia REALLY resembles Owens’ wife, more than she resembles Virginia, and that being combined with what I talked about in this post with the Victor-Owens parallels and the idea of Owens being Edward Timeline Victor.
This changed my thoughts re: George because it ties into the age issue that I talked about earlier, because Edward, unlike Henry, doesn’t have a confirmed age, and there’s so many ages and dates (such as Victor’s age) that DO get changed in the Edward timeline. So, if we’re seeing the Edward timeline in TFS instead/some sort of timeline fuckery, then that’s a whole new box of potential for age changes.
And even though he’s been listed as Henry Creel on all of the TFS stuff, there’s still absolutely the potential of Henry and Edward having accidentally swapped into eachother’s timelines somehow/all of the swapping places references in ST/the Fringe parallels and Peter Bishop ending up in the other Peter’s timeline.
3.) Alice not being cast yet/being weirdly absent
Alice not being cast yet changed my thoughts re: George because just like 2.), it has the potential to tie into timeline weirdness, like I talked about in this post and this post, and with Alice specifically being connected to changing age weirdness (her looking 12 in the show but being listed as 15 in the Weekly Watcher), and her also being connected to timeline weirdness (with Connie Frazier likely being Edward Timeline Alice/Mother Alice), and how her apparent absence could be connected to us seeing the Edward timeline in TFS & Mother Alice being present instead of Daughter Alice/Karen Wheeler being Daughter Virginia/Karen being the Creel daughter in the Edward timeline, and therefore they don’t need to cast an “Alice Creel” in TFS because the Creel mother (which Is Alice in the Edward timeline) is already present and casted (her casting is listed as Virginia but that makes sense if theyre not revealing timeline stuff yet/shes the Virginia equivalent) and the Creel Daughter is already present and casted (Karen Wheeler/Karen Childress which her lastname is a whole other can of worms that I need to dig into), so casting a daughter named Alice Creel in the Edward timeline would be adding an extra, new character who doesnt exist in the Edward timeline/we would end up with two Creel daughters.
Basically, my stance previously was “George might be Henry but it’s extremely unlikely,” and now my stance is “George might be Henry and it’s more likely than it was previously now that timeline stuff is staring to pop up because timeline stuff opens the door for feasible, canon-adhering age changes”
So yeah! Just wanted to put this out there because I know one person in particular was making some super bitchy posts regarding my previous posts about George and TFS and acting like I was suddenly proven wrong/acting like i was Completely Fully Convinced With No Evidence That George Isnt Henry- hence why I wanted to explain why I believed so firmly that George isnt Henry (the age stuff, the audition George actor’s resemblance to lonnie & the initial absence of anything pointing towards timeline weirdness) and why now that’s changed slightly (the audition George not being cast, the timeline stuff becoming more likely based on things like Victor’s casting and Alice’s absence).

My thoughts on Stranger Things S4
I'm going to break down my thoughts in categories because that's easier for me
Plotlines
The plot line with Murray, Joyce, and Hopper was great! I loved Murray and Joyce's dynamic and Yuri was frustratingly hilarious. I also love Hopper's strength and self-reflection when he was in the camps. And when he reunited with Joyce 🥰
The plot line in California with Jonathan, Mike, Argyle, and Will bored me for the most part. It is also so frustrating that Will is clearly internally dealing with something (I've seen fans guessing he's gay and has a crush on Mike) and Mike can't recognize it. Mike really annoyed me this season between that and how he was angry that "El didn't need him anymore".
The main plot line with Vecna and the Upside Down was amazing. I loved it. I laughed and cried a lot this season.
Characters and Ships
Max's grief and fear of being killed by Vecna brought me to tears multiple times this season. That scene when she read her letter to Billy at his grave broke me.
I love that Robin and Nancy got to know each other better too. I really enjoyed their visit to the asylum with Victor and getting to see Vecna's backstory. The girls' personalities contrast with each other so much and that dynamic was great to watch.
Steve's annoyance at being the babysitter was really funny. I also enjoyed his dynamic with Eddie, they are hilarious together.
Eddie was a character that I did not like when he was first introduced but he definitely grew on me as the season went on. His banter with the characters was great and his relationship with Dustin was so wholesome. And I can't believe he was killed off, what is it with this show killing the characters that have the biggest potential for character development?? It's infuriating.
Robin was one of the characters I was the most excited to see in season 4. I loved her helping the group and braving the Upside Down even though she was rightful scared. I also loved her and Steve navigating her crush on Vickie.
Argyle's character was kinda meh to me. He was funny sometimes, but I wish we knew more about him.
Jason's character terrified me. He instantly wanted blood and was able to rally his friends and the town behind him.
El's journey throughout the season was great. She had a lot of self-discovery and the exploration of her relationships with Dr. Brenner and Henry were so interesting.
Vecna / Henry's character was definitely the highlight of season four. This was the first time a human-like villain was introduced and I was obsessed every time he was on screen. His presence was amazing in both the flashback scenes and as Vecna due to how unsettling his character is. Before it was revealed that he has been the monsters in each season all along, I wondered if that was the case. I can't wait to see what happens next season.
Nancy's was great this season. I've loved seeing her progression over the seasons as her confidence grows. And her determination to kill Vecna when she shot him and "I have two guns in my room", I love her.
I'm not sure how I feel about the love triangle that's forming with her and Jonathan. Jonathan and Nancy have been through a lot together but their lives are starting to go into different directions and I wish they would just talk about it! It seems like Steve and Nancy might be developing feelings for each other again and I don't know how I feel about it. Both their characters have grown so much since they dated in season one that things could potentially work out but Nancy is still dating Jonathan.
I loved that Lucas and Max's relationship was explored more since I feel like it has kinda been on the back burner. They had so many good scenes together, like when Vecna attacked Max in the graveyard and the attic.
Ending
The very end of the season, with Upside Down spilling into our world is terrifying. This is the first season where there is a cliff hanger and the characters haven't won.
I was crying during most of the end because of things listed below
Jonathan telling Will that he will love him not matter what because he suspects he's gay
Max admitting that she prayed Billy would die, that she hesitated because she wasn't sure he should be saved, and she now wishes she would die instead
Max's memory to retreat in was the Snow Ball
Joyce having a flashback of Bob's death when Hopper says he will distract the demodogs
Steve's sacrifice and death
Lucas' reaction to Max's broken bones and bleeding eyes
"I can't see or feel anything."
Max telling Lucas she doesn't want to die
The crew reuniting in the aftermath of the "earthquake"
Max and the crew in the hospital
Dustin talking with Wayne Munson about Eddie
El and Hopper reuniting

s5 manifestations
henry monologues about capitalism again but this time he’s ending his reign of terror in a self-sacrificial way and they’re kinda just letting him get his final manifesto down before he kicks the bucket
byler endgame of course
platonic max and mike development (LET THEM BE FRIENDS!!! PLEASE GOD)
more steve and robin ride-or-die friendship moments
more ronance queerbait <3
a lucas-steve-dustin team-up
hop & el post-battle reunion that isn’t immediately cut short by one of them dying
joyce and will post-battle reunion
moments with joyce & jonathan bc i miss their dynamic from s1 so much dear god
more of jonathan and steve and nancy (maybe some actual resolution for them?? please???) (also stoncy nation it’s time to come out of the woodwork damn)
robin and mike convo about comphet!!!
erica and lucas sibling rivalry
will having powers would cure my mental illness actually
murray psychoanalyzing byler (respectfully and not outing them ofc)
teams i would love to see happen: (mike, will, nancy, jonathan) (steve, robin, lucas, el) (joyce, hopper, mike, will) (robin, jonathan, el, will)
hopper punches more and more people every season so i think in s5 he should get to deck at least 20 people
nancy fights monsters with her bare hands while robin operates a tank
el dyes her buzzcut pink in the wheelers’ bathroom to reclaim her agency
el and lucas heart to heart or we ride at dawn
LITERALLY platonic madwheeler
dustin lucas mike will original party teamup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELLO FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HELLO
argyle and murray have an isolated interaction for comedic relief that’s intercut with a super tense scene of hopper and joyce fighting for their lives in the upside down (a la pass the dutchie playing as argyle rolls up to the byers house getting raided in s4. you know the vibes)
robin and el convo. let them miss social cues and be autistic together
max wakes up and is pissed as fuck she got put on the bench (callback to steve and the party in s2 they will always be famous)
or conversely max is instrumental in helping them win against henry from the inside
joyce beats someone up (going back to her s3 town hall roots!!)
vickie and mike veiled gay confessionals while robin and will walk and talk ahead of them
i will NOT know peace until st replicates the absolute RUSH of adrenaline everyone felt during the van-flip scene in s1. the sheer excitement and vindication i felt in that scene is something i feel the show has never been able to produce again and i want them to return to that minimal style of depicting el’s (and will’s fingers crossed) powers in s5 because it feels so much more REAL
I WANT THE GRAINY DESATURATED AESTHETIC OF S1 BACK GOD DAMN IT GET THIS OVERPRODUCED CINEMATICALLY-ADVANCED FLASHY SHIT OUT OF MY GAY MONSTER SHOW !!!!! alright i’m good now
but seriously a return to season 1 is all i want and need. a GENUINE return in terms of aesthetics and cinematography and THE TONE OF THE SHOW. i love comedic relief as much as the next person but god the absolute whiplash s3-4 gave me in terms of tonality was painful. i want st to be serious again.

Favorite charactrs?
Ciao anon!
This will probably surprise you but I think Will is my favorite character : )
And not just my favorite ST character. He's one of my favorite in general. I just love his story, the mystery. He's a sweet, kind boy. Talented, with a vivid imagination, and also resilient, brave and smart. The fact that he's played by a very talented young actor makes everything even better. I'm really impressed by Noah's acting.
I also love: Hopper, Dustin, Jonathan, Steve, Max and Henry.
But honestly? I love all these characters, including Murray and Mr Clarke. Henry was an amazing addition. Fascinating story, and great actor. I like Raphael too, can't wait to see more of him in S5. We've only seen Henry in S4 and he's already become one of my all time favorite "villains" (yeah, I think we don't know all the story yet) I don't even hate Billy. He was what he was and I find his arc and the parallels with Will interesting.
You didn't ask, but these are my favorite dynamics:
Will and Jonathan. Will and Mike. Steve and Dustin, Max and Lucas, Murray, Hopper and Joyce. Joyce and Will. El and Hopper.
Dynamics I absolutely want to see in S5:
Will and El. I know there's a reason the writers didn't let them interact much throughout the show, but El holding Will's hand in S1 was enough to make me love them. And that hug in the desert. Yeah, S5 will be Willel season.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I see an immense potential. I want to see them become the Wonder Twins and save the world together. Maybe holding hands at some point, when they comfort each other, give each other strenght before they use their powers. That would be epic.
Will, Mike, Vickie and Robin. These queer kids need to become friends. And I bet their scenes together can be both touching and hilarious.
Will and Henry. I can't wait to see Will and adult Henry interact. And Will and young Henry too, in some vision. This is probably the new dynamic I'm more excited about because it's connected to the biggest mystery of the story: the nature of the UD and Will's past.
I also can't wait for the Wheelers to finally learn what's going on, especially Karen. I want to see more of Karen and Joyce and Karen and her kids.
And I'm sure Mr Clarke will come back and will be very useful. But this time, he will know what's happening and will be part of the team. Thanks for the ask

Fav sibling dynamics in Vicky and Fritz’s kids? I low key support Willy and Charlotte just because she relied on him for support a lot.
I like them too, sucks that their relationship deteriorated. I like Henry and Willy too… so I’m conflicted (😔), I’m gonna go with the latter since they did continue to communicate until Henry’s death

Now that I've rewatched S4 I'm even more excited about the prequel. We don't know much about it, but I have so many thoughts.
These are some of my theories (so in a few months we can see how wrong I was, lmao)
Joyce. It's interesting that the only thing they revealed about her are her last name (that means ill-fated. So Hopper is cursed and she is ill-fated. Great) and the fact that she can't wait to get the hell out of Hawkins. I wonder if she has problems with her family, and if we'll see "crazy" aunt Darlene. I'm also curious about why she stays in Hawkins. Whatever happens, she doesn't become the crazy lady until after Will's birth.
Bob. Yeah, when he says that Joyce didn't know he existed when they were young he probably just means that she was popular and not interested in Bob the Brain. So it won't be a retcon if they interact. He's going to be the Dustin of the group and maybe he's also "Betty's" step brother. That would be a cool way to connect everything.
Hopper and Lonnie. Like you said, maybe they're both popular, but Hopper is more of a jocky slacker type and Lonnie more of a reject slacker type. I too think that they both want to date Joyce, and that's going to be a problem. Like the Jon-Nancy-Steve triangle, but worse. Lonnie is paralleled to Billy's father, and in Billy's memory his father isn't just violent. He's also jealous and believes his wife is cheating on him. This could be a hint that Lonnie doesn't just hate Hopper because he's a cop, but because Joyce loved him (and then left Lonnie and had twins with Hop... Lol, but this is for another post)
If Hopper starts to feel cursed when he's 18, in 1959, maybe it means that what he does or doesn't do in the prequel changes everything. He leaves, but Joyce stays and ends up with Lonnie.
I'm very curious about Lonnie's role. Maybe he's just like Biff in BTTF. OR there is a twist: when he was young he was better than Hopper. The thing is, we have to see why Joyce would want to marry him. Maybe he's always had a dark side and we see glimpses of it in the prequel, but Joyce won't. That would be interesting to see.
Henry and Betty. My theory is that "George Smith" is Henry, the pale outcast Betty is falling for, but I don't think he reciprocates her feelings. I could be wrong, but there might be a hint in 4x01, the scene where the girl flirts with Will and he's like, No thank you (I wrote about it here) She's a POC like Betty, her hair style is similar to Betty's in the teaser, and there's the name Henry behind Will.
But anyway, why would they make Betty fall for Henry, who seems queer-coded and already has powers and an exorcism to deal with?
I think they could use their dynamic to show the audience what's happening between Will, Mike and El. They did it with Robin and Vickie, they can do it again with Henry and Betty. A girl likes Henry and he cares about her. They have a special bond, so the audience thinks he reciprocates her feelings, but he doesn't.
And what if Scott Clarke is also in the prequel? He would be 12-13, like Henry. So, if Henry is queer, they could show the difference between his bond with Betty and his bond with Scott. These are just theories tho. Maybe Clarke is not even in the prequel. But if George is Henry, I just think it makes sense that one of the reasons why they would make Betty fall for him is the parallel with Will and his situation.
Ok let's be more positive. How big do u think Jopper's role is going to be in The First Shadow? 😊
We did sort of already get a glimpse into Hopper's role with the leaked tapes. Then again who knows how accurate that even was because they could have used fake scripts. I say this because the actor who auditioned for his role literally commented on the video posted of him and asked fans to remove it, saying it wasn't even the official script but they also did not want it public regardless. So maybe we don't even have anything at all and it's just some script from some other film movie and they are using it to get a feel for the actors range. (They have done this with other auditions ie. one of the leaked audition tapes for Vickie included a scene from Some Kind of Wonderful)
Otherwise, I am very very intrigued to find out what Joyces' role is going to look like. I can imagine it in a lot of different ways, but I can also see it going against my expectations and surprising me in a good way.
We have not got anything in regards to her role (outside of the iconic Maldonado reveal), though I do think she will play a big part, so I am very much anticipating that the most.
In terms of Jopper as a duo, I'm wondering what stage they'll be at in their relationship as we understand it from what little we got from the show.
We know there was a time they were at least acquainted enough to smoke outside of school together, risking getting caught and reprimanded. So could we see that sort of dynamic between them, as friends teetering on something more possibly, only for Lonnie to enter the picture? Or is Lonnie in the picture the whole time only to lead to a confrontation between him and Hopper? I do think something must have happened that caused Joyce and Hopper to cut ties. They seemed like they got along enough to presumably know stuff about each others kids later on in life at least, and yet in canon they are totally clueless to each others current lives in the future. I know very often high school sweethearts and even close friends can grow apart, but Joyce stayed in town and Hopper seemed to be coming back and forth occasionally, so they could have kept in contact if they wanted to.
There is also the fact that Lonnie made a comment about Hopper, sort of alluding to the fact that he wasn't fond of him, so it is likely there could be a confrontation or something of that nature between the two of them, related to Joyce or otherwise.
I do think that Hopper was more of a jocky slacker type, while I think Lonnie was more of a reject slacker type. Maybe they were in similar circles where they were seen as popular, at least in contrast to Bob the brain who was very likely a nerd, hence why he joked about how Joyce never even knew him in high school. That moment in particular stands out to me because it implies Joyce was well liked. And apparently Lonnie and Hopper were on her radar in some capacity. It could be a case of Lonnie and Hopper maybe even being amicable bc of their circles overlapping, only for it to go sour bc of their feelings for Joyce...?
It appears Joyce is likely to be the Nancy of the older gen of characters, with numerous suitors trying to make themselves known. I think there's a way that could go down and feel a little too repetitive for my taste, but I do think it could also manage to be interesting if it's done well and shows how each person is completely different and how that leads us to where we are. I'm obviously hoping for the later!
Joyce already having 3 potential suitors pining after her in the play is also why I am 1000% confident Henry will in no shape form have a crush on her. I feel like that goes without saying, though I know fans have speculated about it so I wanted to chime in that, literally in the case of Joyce already being a love interest for 3 of our other characters in the play already, it would be way too repetitive on that front alone. (That's not even including the fact that it would just be so fucking stupid since Henry is presumably around 12-13 in the play while Joyce will be around 17-18.)
In terms of the 'curse' aspect, I am very much looking forward to how Hopper and Joyce play a role in that. Could it be something very small and simple but still a catalyst to it all? I think that would be neat bc it would make the whole show go sort of full circle with how Hopper has talked about feeling like he's cursed since s1 and with Joyce being referred to as crazy by multiple characters throughout s1 (referring to behavior pre-Will's disappearance).
They have said that the play holds a key to the end of the show... And we know who starts the entire show with key imagery....

this has been in my head for soo long and i dont have the energy to write a full fanfic but-
post s4 idea ahead-
will gets vecna'ed but henry obviously doesnt want to kill him, he wants him corrupted, easy to take over so-
he takes every single memory of mike away. theyre gone. not lost, just gone. and not in the 'i feel like i know you im gonna trust you' way, but in a 'im increadibly uncomfortable bc this person i dont know anything about, knows everything about me, keep him away' and that is exactly what henry wanted.
angst ensues.
when will wakes up, he doesnt say anything when this random stranger is sitting at the couch holding his hand. and then the random stranger that propably got dragged into this mess along with the redheaded girl and eddie, keeps following him around the cabin and then we get a scene where vicky is like
"hey, by the way im vicky!" and will is like
"hey, im will :)"
and he turns to mike and goes,
"and you?"
and mike's hella confused and is like, "what do you mean?"
the whole extended party is there, except for lucas, max and erica, and everyone just looks over, suddenly alert, because it was really suspicious that will got out unharmed with no music and no memory of the trance at all.
will explaines to mike that, well, he's another person that got tragged into their mess and after the whole day together, will still didn't know his name.
mike just sits still, mouth hanging open, when jonathan steps closer.
"will- this is mike, you don't know mike?"
"-am i supposed to-" he mumbles to jonathan, "oh, um, sorry... have we met before? like in school? sorry, i don't remember."
mike keeps blinking in disbelief. theres no way, will must be playing, even if he looks completely serious, his face all polite as if he was talking to a stranger.
mike's heart drops, because it hits him, that the completely new dynamic that will established with him after he woke up wasn't because mike said something dumb again, that would make will distance himself.
it was because will literally didn't know who mike was.
the silence continues and everyones' faces just say fuck.

S5 for stranger things wishlist and/ or predictions/ theories.
Opinions or HC regarding Byers- Hopper family
Thanks for your ask!
I don't particularly have opinions or HC regarding the Byers-Hopper family dynamic to be honest. But I've seen other people say that they think that Joyce and Hopper will get married by the end of S5 and I'm not sure if I think they will, do either of them want to actually get married again? I can see them being like... civically married but not like legally lol. Either way, I'd be fine with it but there won't be a ceremony if they do get married.
I like the relationship between Joyce and El, I would like to see them interact more.
I also enjoyed seeing how close El became to Will, so I'd like to see that more but also more interactions with Jonathan.
As for my S5 wish list. I think I answered this not to long ago so I'm going to copy and paste lol since I'm not a huge theorizer.
El to defeat Vecna/One/Henry. I think at this point, since we have a talking big baddie, she has to officially overcome everything and beat his ass!
Mileven moments. We may not get a ton since we had Mike's love monologue in S4 but it would be nice to show them fighting together. So by extension, I want more Mike in general, he's my favorite character and I miss him being right there in the action with way more character moments and interactions with other characters.
Mike and Nancy Moments. They have not talked by themselves in such a long time, I think it's overdue. I would love if there's a moment where she teaches him to shoot and I think he'd be good at it lol.
Mike and Lucas Moments. I would like for them to have a moment of closeness since I think they can understand each other with what's happened to Max. Not to mention, I personally think they are each other's closest friend and I think they understand each other on a different level.
Jopper and the kids. I guess I just want all the kids to know that they're together and for them to not be separated from the kids too much.
The other parents. I think it's due for all the other parents, at least the moms to know what's going on. I feel like Karen is due to know, I would also like Lucas and Dustin's moms to get involved too.
Robin and Vickie. Just for them to have actual conversations, we may not have time for this but I think it's deserved.
Eddie Mourning. I'm still mad that Mike didn't get the chance to know about Eddie's death or to mourn him. So, I'd like them to hold a little vigil for him.

Do you think the Duffers will be able to conclude all major character arcs and resolutions in a solid way as well as concluding the supernatural plot?
Like, for me, I just think they the duffers might struggle to stick the landing of their final season. Especially because nothing has been resolved in S4 and pretty much every character arc is left open alongside supernatural plot. I am not sure how they're gonne deal with that given there will be less screen time too? If anything what they did and write brought way too many unanswered questions to the table and like as I said, nothing is really resolved in S4. If you don't count Jopper, every single romance angst is left open. El/Mike/Will situation is all a mess. Steve/Nancy/Jonathan dynamic is a mess. Vickie and Robin havent even confessed yet alone become a couple, and for that to happen they have to insert Vickie to the story more. There's just too much stuff going on with Will that we don't know of yet and tbh after that weird Vecna revelation, it only brought more questions. Not to mention they have to address certain stuff and trauma issues with Will's character. Max and Lucas aren't even dating technically we dont know their fate and Max is in a coma. Dustin has his own issues so what happens to him and Suzie now there is an Apocalypse and Dustin's loss of Eddie too? What about the Russian plot and the monsters there, will it ever come up again? I could go on about this but I'd be too long honestly I don't know how theyre gonna tie all these loose ends when they pretty much left everything open and resolved nothing lmao. And I just think it kinda sucks when it comes to arranging the narrative and story arcs because if they have decided to resolve some things, then it would have been easier to focus on certain specific stuff in a better way.
Hi anon!!
Well I think keeping the character arcs unfinished until the final season is a smart move, there's a whole season of show left, it would be boring if the characters had no development left. But I mean at this point it's pretty clear what the character's arcs are going to be, they've already laid the groundwork for that through the whole show but particularly S4. Now they just need to complete them.
I think the supernatural plot and the Will/UD connection has the foundation laid pretty well too, I don't think it'll be too difficult to tie that together. We'll probably have to suffer through another Henry explanation monolgue of some sort though.
Also they have said there will be a time skip, so there's the potential for some things to be set up or resolved off screen, like for example everything that happened between S3 and S4 that we didn't get to see.
There's also some things that are probably okay being left open ended I think. Like for example Robin and Vickie, I'm sure we'll see them get to know each other more and hopefully smooch, but I don't really need them to become an official couple in S5. Or like I think that not a whole lot of screen time needs to be dedicated to Dustin and Suzie's relationship. If we didn't physically see Suzie S5 and it was just briefly mentioned I don't think that's a huge issue. Not that I don't want Suzie in S5, because I do, but there's a lot going on.
Overall I think there will be time to address everything you mentioned, I'm not worried about that. As pessimistic as I am, I think the writers have proven their ability to tie things together.
Now is everything going to be done exactly the way we want it? No, probably not. But you know... that's what fanfic is for. And I will be on the front lines with my fellow fanfic writers, Amen.
So anyway. Coming from probably one of the most pessimistic people in this fandom: Have faith, anon.
