GRABS YOU, hahaaaa so like what are your FAVORITE surnames out of all the ones you've done?? ik that sounds sillay,, but like,,, there are BOUND to be some that are more fun to think about and create than others that you LOVE the details behind,, sooo kinda curious if thats the case SKJDSKJ

[CHOKING TO DEATH] haha sure I can name a few!

Zeo: His surname is Lì, which not only is a typical Chinese surname to my knowledge (... I keep forgetting if I've ever mentioned that Zeo is Chinese) but the Chinese name for Oreo (when like, romanized? Is that the word? Basically when the characters are put in a form thats kinda like standard english) is "Ào lì ào", so I got the Lì part from there! Its a neat little easter egg!

Mister E's family: Their surname is Alles, which means everything in various European languages! It's a nice little nod to Mister E's flavor being Everything Bagel, while also, once again, making his name stupid bc ALLES DOESN'T START WITH AN E!! ASSHOLE!!!

Carist and Luanne: Carist's surname is Hart so Luanne's maiden name is also Hart! Cute little thing to tie into the whole "Love, oreo" bit

Valentine, Patrica and their kids: Heliotrope is a violet and pink flower, so the violet+pink couple and their kids get that last name! (I'll also briefly mention Patrica's siblings and parents since their surname is Rouge, which not only is french for red but also resembles Rogue, sorta referencing Marylyn's past as a thug!)

Kenith, Lemla, Nilla and Saff: Having the last name Wafer is so stupid.

Manga, Aam and Tajo: This is an interesting one! Basically, all of their surnames are derived from the scientific name for Mango, Mangifera indica. Manga's is Indica, Aam's is Fera and Tajo's is Mangi. TECHNICALLY all of them have the surname Fera since that's their dad's surname and none of them have legally changed their names, but Manga and Tajo just use those names.

Carot, Ciara and Brike: Having the last name Cake is so stupid.

merlin told arthur his favorite color was the color of the sky during sunset when it shifted into a deep violet. arthur gets a tunic made in that exact shade. its the best thing merlin owns. arthur was hoping that would mean he’d wear it almost everyday but merlin almost never wears it. the only time he does wear it is when royals come to visit (which isn’t all that often). arthur “subtly” asks about it and merlin is like “it’s the best thing i own. i’m not gonna dirty it mucking out the stables or serving rowdy knights wine while they splatter food on it” and arthur is like “why not wear it when nobles come to visit? look at least a little presentable for them” (cough nice save). merlin doesn’t see the point in it bc nobles don’t care about him at best, view him as less than human at worst.

arthur really just wants to see his boyfriend servant in the tunic he had made for him (bonus points for sending a message that merlin is his. not that merlin seems to notice. man is too much of an idiot). merlin wants to preserve his favorite tunic and gift from his boyfriend king.
