one of the most powerful things about arcane in my opinion is that it managed to capture so many forms of love, so please bear with me while we delve into this analysis.
[SPOILERS FOR SEASON 2 OF ARCANE!]
vanderâs love for vi and jinx was the one of a good father; he raised them like he promised their mother, and for as long as his consciousness lived, he was determined to protect them. silco also grew to love jinx like a daughter, in his own way. she wasnât just one of his most prized assets: while he was ruthless to most, he had a tendency of going âsofterâ on her, and was desperate to save her when he thought she was gone. singed loved his daughter so much that he was willing to go to unspeakable lengths to bring her back. and despite everything, ambessa and mel were still mother and daughter, and in the moment of death, they recognised how much they meant to each other. a mother stabbed by her own daughter, and yet, with her final breath, she expressed how proud she was of who mel had became â quite similar to silcoâs death.
caitlyn and vi have always been romantic, this third act showing the passionate kind of love they had. ekko loved jinx in a most pure way, a love he carried with him since childhood and somehow persisted. mel and jayce had their troubles in the beginning, but they grew to trust each other and became very significant to one another with time.
vi and jinx were one of the most important of all, because they clashed and fell apart, and even through it all, even with so much hatred and hurt and grief, they never let go. they loved each other beyond words. their love was powerful enough to bring forgiveness. with isha, jinx showed all this love that was still inside her, the love for a sister she thought she had lost. silco and vander too clashed and nearly killed each other (silco succeeded) and yet their love persisted.
and then it concluded with jayce and viktor. their love was transcendental, beyond simply romantic or platonic bonds even. ever since they first met, without their knowledge, their lives had always been intertwined. it all started with them, and it ended with them. they clashed to near death, but jayce didnât let go, and viktor couldnât either. âit was affection that held us togetherâ, viktor said. they were both alive because of each other. they owed each other so much. it was their loveâs power that saved the universe of its collapse. again, a love powerful enough to forgive and leave everything behind.
so yes, I am very emotional and may have many conflicting thoughts about some aspects of these last acts, but the portrayal of love was something that I felt deeply throughout the entire series and canât go unnoticed. all in all, the message of the show can be summarized in silcoâs line: âthe greatest thing you can do in life is find the power to forgiveâ.

arcane season 2 was artistically beautiful and thematically cheap. every interesting and meaningful thing it did with its characters (even in season 2 act 2) was reduced to romanticized bullshit, utterly divorced from its season 1 roots. it's so bad it can be considered pro-status quo propaganda (and i do mean that). good ships aside (and i do mean the caitivi, jayvik, timebomb holy triad), this season squats and shits on every zaunite character in the show. not just their zaunite-ness, but how it literally shaped who they were as characters.
Let's start with Vi:
-Vi and Vander: Vi's loyalty to The Lanes always went beyond Powder. Zaun was her father's, Vander's dream. Zaun was her friends (do you remember how protective she was of Ekko aside from her adopted brothers?) and her family. When she's giving Caitlyn a tour of The Lanes, we see how much she embodies and revels in Zaunite culture (esp in the food scene). She cared for Zaun like Vander taught her to. Her "protective" trait extended to ALL the vulnerable in The Lanes, because Vander taught her that. It wasn't EVER just Powder. Zaun is her HOME. As a child, she wanted to make a name for herself IN ZAUN "one day, this city's gonna respect us." You can make the excuse that Vander's death meant that side of her died, but it clearly didn't because of how she regarded it while showing Caitlyn around. "Family" to Vander, extended to the vulnerable of Zaun, which is how Vi and Powder came to be his "daughters" in the first place. Because Zaun was for THEM. Zaun WAS THEM. Vander and Silco "weren't allowed to fail" at Zaun (i.e. the two daughters). Additionally, Vi and Jinx were supposed to succeed where Vander and Silco hadn't: forgiving each other and uniting so they could realize their dream for a free Zaun. The whole reason Zaun struggles to be free is because of their own internal divisions (the different gangs fighting for scraps). But if they united, they would be able to liberate themselves from Piltover (who is still the enemy). The whole reason the others are prosperous in the alternate timeline Ekko and Hemmerdinger travel to is because Vander and Silco reconcile (not because Vi dies).
-Vi and Caitlyn: Caitlyn was an interesting development for Vi, particularly because Caitlyn mirrored Vander's care for all people. Caitlyn was an enforcer that wanted to truly understand and help people. This challenged Vi's biases and also gave them a common goal. Caitlyn appealed to Vi because she gave Vi renewed hope for peace in The Lanes. That Zaun could be free through co-operation instead of violence. Her whole teaming up with Caitlyn, romance aside, was predicated on Vi brokering for peace between Zaun and Piltover. The first break-up between the two (Season 1's "Oil and Water") centred around Jinx, more or less. Vi believes Silco is a threat to peace between Piltover and Zaun (even though The Lanes aren't known as Zaun to her, I'm just using the names interchangeably). She believes Jinx is acting out due to Silco's influence, as well (and she isn't entirely wrong). Had Caitlyn not been injured on the bridge (and had Jinx not felt betrayed by Vi), Vi was going to leave her in pursuit of Jinx. Vi has never fit into Piltover (and that's also shown in Season 2 act 1-2).
-Vi and Jinx: This show was ALWAYS about a tale of two sisters/cities (cue the record insert of their two faces at the beginning of every episode). When Vi becomes an enforcer, it isn't because she's switched loyalties. She wants peace for Zaun, she just wants to take Silco's (and her own) creation--Jinx--out of the equation so it can work. The only reason she agrees to Caitlyn's plan is because, again, their two goals align: get Jinx. The difference is Vi wants to kill Jinx to get Powder back, while Cait wants to kill Jinx to get her city (mother) back. The show in season 2 TOTALLY LOST THIS FOCUS. Vi's guilt at hunting down her own people with enforcers (and it's already insane that Vi would even agree lmao) is ignored a lot by fandom, especially bc her post-breakup scene where she goes full goth is framed as regret for letting Cait down (rather than the self-disgust she would feel for joining her oppressors). Vi played a part in creating Jinx. Every single step of the way. This is barely acknowledged, and every time it might be, it gets shoved aside for romance with Cait. Cait, who, literally became a dictator and weaponized the air ducts her mother had created to SAVE ZAUNITES. The whole thing is viewed as Vi betraying Cait instead of Vi betraying Jinx/Zaun/her family and Cait betraying Vi ("promise me you won't change") and her mother. Cait was the one who sought to help Zaun (like her mother) but betrayed who she was when she was willing to kill Isha, an innocent child. (ALSO IMPORTANT: Just to further prove my point on how integral the sister's love for each other was, every show started with a record playing. The cover of the disc was Vi and Jinx. They were always the center focus of the story. The song that the record played? Likely "Our Love" by Curtis Harding and Jazmine Sullivan which goes "Our love is a bubblin' fountain, our love, that flows into the sea, our love, deeper than the ocean, our love for eternity." This love deeper-than-the-ocean can apparently crumble in the face of a dictator girlfriend you've known for less than a year lmao).
Where the writers FUMBLE is:
-Vi's and Jinx's relationship becomes secondary not just to the entire plot of the show but to Vi's arc. Zaun and Piltover's conflict was set up to be the epitome of the show, and the fact that it got shelved for a more *ahem* American industrial military complex epic battle between humans and robots is very telling about the writers and showrunners.
-Vi forgives Cait easily and prematurely, trashing Vi's true loyalties as established in earlier seasons/episodes
-Vi herself takes a back seat in most of season 2, and becomes a passive yes-man to Cait
-Vander's re-introduction is almost completely worthless to the plot and narrative (he comes back just to die), and he is used as a cheap way to re-unite the daughters in a way that has no significance to the themes (also, Silco as Jinx's father is completely ignored)
-Cait's deferral to fascism should have been permanent. Idc about the shippers at this point. Vi and Cait should have never come back from Cait shoving the back of her gun into Vi's injured side (let alone the gassing of the ducts). Vi would've never forgiven her, attraction or no. The fact that Cait could become a dictator after losing one parent is proof of their class divides (after all, Vi held onto hope despite losing all her parents to enforcers and Jinx was all she had left of her family). That should have cemented the death of that relationship (and it would have made for more compelling storytelling on class). The only reason it was kept was because it matters more to white Western audiences to have a Romeo x Juliet rendition that assuages their classist sensitivities. Cait becoming a fascist made sense and was true to her character and the world. Vi forgiving her (and then having sex with her in the prison she was thrown into as a child?) destroyed both her character and the narrative. And it's frankly made the ship that much more unpalatable. If Vi had to be destroyed as a character for the ship to work, then the ship wasn't all that good (even though it started off that way). It's honestly left such a bad taste in my mouth. What a fuck you to oppressed groups that whole subplot was. (And it's made worse by the fact that the creator thought that was somehow an empowering and liberating act for Vi, like fuck that).
Let's Talk About Victor:
-Viktor and Heimmerdinger: This is one of the biggest fumbles, IMO. Heimmerdinger and Viktor were the most polar of opposites. Heimmerdinger was not only a privileged, ulta-wealthy Piltoverian, but he had a comparatively endless lifespan while Viktor's own human life-span was cut short due to being a Zaunite, born at the bottom of the barrel and raised on toxic fumes that led to his terminal illness. Viktor's desperation to unlock the Arcane was explicitly about him overcoming his circumstances, his illness, his premature death. It wasn't merely about his internalized ableism, but the unjust way in which he had to suffer. Heimmerdinger could afford patience because he had all the time and resources in the world, but Viktor didn't. Not merely because he was a mortal, but because he was a Zaunite.
-Viktor and Singed: Viktor's arc with hextech is foreshadowed with his childhood interaction with Singed. I understand that in the games, Viktor is a villain-type character and his catchphrase or whatever is "Join the Glorious Evolution." While Viktor is horrified by Singed killing the creature that he eventually uses for shimmer, Viktor later says, "I understand," hinting that he saw the sacrifice (and death) necessary to "heal" the world of its ailments. Both Viktor and Singed grow up in The Lanes, and both have ailments they want to cure (for Viktor it is his lung cancer and for Singed its his daughter's dying). In season 2, Viktor tells Singed that while he understands what healing all those people could cost him, he will not sacrifice their humanity for Singed's cause. Then Jayce blasts him in the chest and that all goes out the window. All this despite Sky being there with him in the astro-nether. Now Viktor's idea of becoming a higher being is just getting rid of emotion (despite the fact that his character was one that was consistently willing to sacrifice himself and die in order to not harm others, and Sky's death only solidified that). Jayce killing him without explanation was all of a sudden all he needed to become a divine dictator, lmao. The same Viktor that looked terminal illness in the face and preferred to spare others instead of himself? The same Viktor who's immediate action after waking up with a new body was to go and use the arcane he wished had been destroyed to help others? Sure.
-Viktor and Jayce: Now, I think Jayce's speech had some merit and could have been framed better with a little more time and thought. The philosophical idea of perfection or a perfect world (one which Piltoverians strive toward) being untenable, maybe even undesirable, is a fascinating concept worth exploring. BUT MAKING IT ABOUT SOME INTERNALIZED ABLEISM FROM VIKTOR IS FUCKING STUPID!!!! I'm sorry, but Piltover being the city of progress until it actually included becoming progressive with Zaun was absolutely one of the things Jayce and Viktor's sub-plot was trying to explore. Viktor WANTED TO LIVE. Viktor wanted his people to STOP SUFFERING. Viktor WAS RIGHT. He wasn't merely eliminating "imperfections" (and of FUCKING COURSE A PILTOVERIAN WOULD SEE IT THAT WAY), he was trying to cure sick and dying people who did nothing to deserve it. He was buying them time that people like Jayce and Heimmerdinger had in spades, but Viktor and Zaunites had stolen from them. Children dying of disease and violence in The Lanes was by Piltoverian design! It was not some predestined cosmic necessity. Viktor WAS RIGHT TO HATE HIS FUCKING TERMINAL ILLNESS ARE THESE GUYS INSANE??! Wtf kind of message is Viktor embracing it as part of himself sending to vulnerable, impoverished and ill people? Is that supposed to be some kind of fucking comfort? Fuck off right to hell! And don't even get me STARTED on Jayce's trip to other-world hell being some kind of "Jayce seeing the world through Viktor's eyes" bs. Yes, it was good that our idealistic Jayce got to see the dark side of the Arcane as Viktor showed Jayce the beauty of the dream he sought for all people, but whatever message on class struggle Jayce is said to have learned or paralleled in his alternate timeline clearly didn't sink into his head because he still gave that dumbass speech to Viktor. And I'm glad if it resonated with any disabled people, but Viktor's struggle with his body was a protest against Piltover, not himself, and I hate that the writers gutted that character development. Viktor's and Jayce's paths "diverged a long time ago" because Jayce had the luxury and time of pursuing his dream while Viktor didn't. Viktor, even up there as a scholar of Piltover, was still getting the Zaunite treatment. Jayce had the time to pursue a better world, while Viktor had to struggle for a little more time. When Viktor becomes part of the arcane, suddenly he has all the time in the world to realize HIS OWN DREAM. Why would wanting a better world for others have to result in "dreamless solitude"? Viktor becoming obsessed with fixing what ailed humanity was warranted, and his extremism was hinted to have been due in part to the effect the arcane had on him, but it still made the themes of arcane a joke. There was so much potential and the writers (and showrunners) just squandered it for some more romantic bullshit.
Where season 2 FUMBLED:
-"Humanity, our very essence, is inescapable. Our emotions, rage, compassion, hate. Two sides of the same coin, intractably bound. That which inspires us to our greatest good is also the cause of our greatest evil.â That's a neat quote, but wars don't start simply due to emotions or whatever. This lacks class analysis, and it's annoying that the writers made this the whole theme of season 2 (and retroactively the show) in a story on class divides. Cait did not merely gas the Zaunites because of her mother, but because of her privileged upbringing that made it more acceptable to her to view Zaunites as animals (remember Ekko telling her "you guys hunt us down like animals"). Cait knew the humanity of Zaunites was real. She'd seen it. She just chose to ignore it because she could afford to. While it is interesting that Viktor would come to see being human as a flaw that destroys any hope of achieving peace (conflict theory would like a word with you), it ignored that fascism is not an inherently human trait and detracts from how or why it persists in the first place. It's almost the same as saying men/white people oppress women/poc because the latter were mean to them. It's victim-blaming (and false lmao). The British didn't colonize the Americans because the natives did anything to them. All prejudice is unjustified, that's what makes it prejudice. Again, Cait became a fascist when her mom died, but Vi still drew the line at killing children and even council members despite losing every single one of her family members to Piltover's violence against The Lanes.
-Jayce's speech would have been cute in another story, but it's downright insulting in Arcane's. Yes, yes, Jayce's words would have been the only ones to have broken the real Viktor out of Arcane Viktor's grasp by appealing to this deep childhood wound, but Viktor's desperation was not to belong (because his leg kept him from playing with other children) but TO LIVE (because he was dying of an illness). Jayce's speech isn't bad, just misplaced.
-Viktor did not have to become a fascist-aligned deity in his quest to heal people. It is a typical MCU thing to have a "villain" that's technically right and then destroy their entire character to make their (correct) philosophy untenable by making them do something extreme. Typical pro-status quo propaganda trope. Idc if it was so we could get some game version of him. Viktor was right in bringing progress and his discoveries to The Lanes instead of devoting his efforts to Piltover, the fake city of progress.
-While I am annoyed that the climax of the show hinged on Jayce and Viktor and hextech (a tool to explore the inequalities of Piltover and Zaun) instead of Jinx and Vi, I think it kinda makes sense. Hextech built what Piltover has now become. Jayce, Viktor and hextech kinda represent Piltover (what it could be) and Jinx and Vi represent The Lanes (and the Zaun it could be). Both would have been integral, but the story shouldn't have hinged on hextech, IMO. Hextech should have remained a tool to explore the politics of both cities, but instead it overshadowed everything, cheapening the story's themes, characters and world-building.
-Jayce calling the Zaunites to arms was downright absurd. But not as absurd as Zaunites volunteering.
And Then There's Jinx:
-Jinx and Isha: Isha's only use, as far as I'm concerned, was to be a reconciling force between the sisters. When Cait was willing to shoot her to get to Jinx, that should have stopped Vi right there and brought her back to defending Jinx 100% idc. When Isha sacrificed her life to save Jinx, that should have been Jinx's wake-up call right there and helped her understand why Vi kept leaving her out of missions as a kid. But instead what do we get? Depressed, suicidal Jinx and an astoundingly even more resentful and indifferent Vi. Vi still refuses to acknowledge her own hand in creating Jinx in the first place. Jinx, who has always wanted to be useful to those she loves. Who pursued her own hextech inventions in order to give her siblings a fighting chance when facing down Silco. Who wants to give Zaun a fighting chance as Silco's daughter. To be useful to the goals and dreams of her family. Isha was the perfect opportunity to bring the sisters together, but no. Instead, the kid was some kind of foreshadowing to Jinx's own heroic self-sacrifice for her sister (a message that left both sister's arcs unfinished). Vi had to acknowledge how wrong she was for abandoning Jinx and Zaun (instead of taking responsibility as Vander had taught her). Jinx needed to accept herself and the love others showed toward her (Silco, Vander, Ekko and Vi). Jinx keeps blowing things up because she repeatedly rejects herself (both Powder and Jinx), ignoring the good she's done and tried to do. Isha was a call back to the good Jinx has done and can continue to do for Zaun and others.
-Jinx and Ekko: Timebomb is the only ship that didn't ruin anyone's character, lmao. Because Ekko's and Jinx's relationship is precisely an exploration of how Piltover's violence against Zaun forced these children with entire futures ahead of them (they are both child prodigies) into endless war and hellish heroism. Ekko and Jinx are repeatedly shown to be hesitant and even unwilling to participate in violence against others, especially their own. Ekko does not hate Jinx, though he wants to, and Jinx does not like who she is when she's violent. She is trigger-happy because she already expects Vi and Ekko to want to kill her (projecting her self-loathing on them, but not entirely unreasonably). She doesn't have faith in their love or mercy because she doesn't see any part of herself as redeemable or loveable, which is why she consistently sabotages her life (but not without help from Vi and others). Ekko and Jinx are symbols of progress for Zaun AND Piltover (and Heimmerdinger saw that, especially when Ekko insisted he had to go back to his timeline, even if the one he had landed in was better). Heimmerdinger saw what they could have been in the alternate timeline, all the genius that was squandered in The Lanes. Jinx and Ekko are the ones most willing to put an end to violence and injustice because both of them are nostalgic for their families. Jinx just doesn't have the same faith in her ability to do so as Ekko does, but Ekko manages to convince her for a moment anyways. Ekko recognizes (like Silco, Viktor and Isha) how integral Jinx is to the creation of a new world. She injects colour and life and hope into Zaun and is the only one who can unite all warring factions in Zaun in the first place. Both her and Ekko are rebel leaders, but that is hardly used in Zaun's interests in the end. (ALSO THAT WHOLE CONVERSATION WITH VIKTOR AND JINX. This show would have won with a Viktor and Jinx team-up to unite Zaun--also in parallel to Jayce and Vi's team up. We could have had it all!)
-Jinx and Silco: This, is only second to Vi in the most FUMBLED things about Jinx. Silco was her guide once Vander died and Vi ran away. Silco not only took care of her, but gave her purpose and nurtured her talent (one that Vi and their brothers scorned). Silco accepted Jinx (he did not create her, Vi did) even though he weaponized her (which backfired for him). Silco, like Ekko, was the one who saved Jinx from death and offered Jinx a home. While everyone else patronized Jinx for her own childhood trauma, Silco was gentle, understanding and provided space for that, even when her psychosis killed him. He showed zero resentment toward her. But when Silco dies and Vander returns, Jinx just . . . oopsie, doopsie! Forgets about Silco until one final hallucination she has of him in the jail cell. The only one she has where he talks. And what does he say? She needs to break the cycle. How? Not by eliminating Piltover or gaining Zaun's independence like he'd talked about and dreamed about. Not by accepting herself as Jinx and Powder, the inventor, the fighter, daughter of both Silco and Vander, but by offing herself? Leaving her family to think she's dead? Embracing the lie that she really was the poison in their lives and the reason none of them could be happy? The reason they died? NICE! SWELL! WHAT A SATISFYING CONCLUSION! Even worse, they made her "death" staged. I'm sorry, but do we really believe that this same girl who killed herself multiple times in front of Ekko just 24 hours ago somehow found the will to live and escape into air ducts when she was falling with Vander? She decided to live right when she was about to die? And let's not forget that she was falling to the same song that was playing when she was trying to commit suicide. Why? And why would a heroic death (staged or not) be any form of character growth for Jinx in the first place? When her whole thing is distrusting the love offered to her? Or was she accepting herself by being the one to kill Vander because she knew Vi couldn't? Either way, it's cheap!
Fumbling points summarized:
-Jinx not being radicalized by Isha's death and the sight of her sister hunting her down with enforcers.
-Vander's letter to Silco could have been why she hallucinated Silco talking to her about forgiveness, but breaking the cycle here is about forgiving (unapologetic) Piltoverians instead of herself, which needed to happen to complete her arc.
-Jinx being the reluctant Girl Saviour of Zaun after clinging onto her identity as a jinx so she didn't have to take responsibility for Silco's dream (and by extension death) should have been the point of the show, IMO. As far as Jinx's arc is concerned, she was meant to reject the identity of jinx that Vi gave her and embrace the identity of Jinx that Zaun (and Silco) gave her. Loveable and capable of doing the right thing and saving others. Using hex-tech, something Jayce and Piltover had levelled against her people, against them. And she does this to some extent, but we don't even get a hint as to why Ekko's speech worked (and how he got her to fight alongside him and the Firelights in the first place). We know she does so for Vi, but she so quickly gives up once she and her sister are back on the same team. She allies herself with her sister just to die and then fuck off to another land? BRUH! Like act 3 is SO FRUSTRATING!
-The commitment to saving Piltover instead of destroying it ruined so many arcs, most notoriously Vi's and Jinx's. This should have ended in a war between the two cities, not one where both fought against robo-people and Ambessa.
I could go into how the show fumbled Mel, Ekko, Sevika, Jayce and more, but I think they still fare better than the ones I've talked about here. Caitivi has now (narratively) become distasteful, jayvik a joke, and timebomb unnecessary misery porn with little to no reward for all their efforts.
TLDR: Bad message to send to oppressed people, mentally ill people, and people dying of terminal illnesses, lmao. The Zaunites ALL LOST with this one.
P.S.: It's okay if you think the show is good because it succeeds in many other things, I just think it drops the ball in the places I've mentioned. But if your main criticism of my criticisms is going to be defending your ships, please find another post. Oppression is a serious reality that deserves serious depiction and it's insulting to have such necessary political discussions devolve into dumbass ship wars.

Jayce: I'm texting Viktor, i'm gonna ask him to dinner. How should i say it "Let's get dinner" or do you wanna get dinner" ? Caitlyn: Go with "Let's get dinner" so you sound assertive and confident Jayce: For sure Mel: Actually no cause now you sound a little aggressive Hermerdinger: Cause you don't wanna be the kinda guy who's like " LETS GET DINNER" like some sort of caveman Ekko: You're supposed to ask him to dinner, not tell him to dinner Isha: Just say " do you wanna get dinner?" Jayce: Perfect Vi: Actually wait, now you sound kinda like a pussy Jayce: This is tough Singe: The last thing you wanna be is like that overly masculine guy who's like " lets get dinner,on the breadwinner bitch" Silco: Men also love assertiveness Vander: Say "Dinner would be something i would enjoy taking you to, if you are also interested in attending the meal Mylo: The more words the better Finn: Wait, say " I would like nothing more, than to take you to the finest restaurant in town, for a lovely meal that we call dinner Jayce: Should i send that in a voice memo? Jinx: FUCK THAT. Say " Dinner tonight, take it or leave it BITCH" Cause he's playing games Ambessa: Sign it, seal it, deliver it Sevika: I dont know why boys are so difficult all of the time Jayce: I'm not gonna say that Viktor: Definitely don't say that

You are extremely cool, I am impressed by your works, really, your content is amazing. If you don mind (ignore that if you do) I would love to read about arcane characters who found out that their s/o are self harming. English is not my native language, so sorry if I wrote something wrong. And thank you again for your content, itâs healing me
Thank you so much for your kind wordsâthey mean the world to me, truly. Iâm so honored that my writing can bring you even a little bit of comfort. Youâre so brave for sharing this request, and I want you to know Iâm writing this with as much care and as I can. Youâre never alone, and you deserve all the support, love, and healing in the world.
Jinx
Jinx has lived through her own struggles, so when she finds out, it hits her hard.
⢠At first, sheâd be shocked, maybe even a little panicked. âWait, wait⌠youâre serious? Youâre really feeling this way?â
⢠But once it sinks in, her protective side takes over. Sheâd grab your hands, look you in the eyes, and say something like, âYou donât have to hurt yourself, okay? Iâm here. Always. You can tell me anything.â
⢠Jinx might struggle to find the right words, but sheâd pour her energy into reminding you how much you mean to her, distracting you with her chaotic ideas or working on projects together to keep your mind busy.
⢠âYouâre stuck with me, got it? No matter what.â
Vi
Vi would feel a gut punch of worry and guilt when she finds out, blaming herself for not noticing sooner.
⢠Sheâd approach you carefully, her usual confidence softened by concern. âHey, I know somethingâs going on. You can talk to me. Iâm not going anywhere.â
⢠When you open up, sheâd immediately pull you into a hug, holding you tightly like she could shield you from your pain. âI donât care how bad it gets. Youâre not alone in this, okay? Iâm with you.â
⢠Vi would try to help in her practical, straightforward wayâwhether thatâs sitting with you during hard times, helping you find support, or just being a safe space for you to vent.
⢠âYouâre strong. And on the days you donât feel strong, Iâll be strong enough for both of us.â
Sevika
Sevika might not know how to respond at first, but underneath her tough exterior, sheâd be deeply shaken and determined to support you.
⢠Sheâd bring it up gently, her voice calm but serious. âIâve noticed⌠some things. You wanna tell me whatâs goinâ on?â
⢠Once you told her, sheâd listen carefully, nodding as she processes what youâre saying. âAlright. Thanks for telling me. You donât have to do this alone anymore. Iâve got you.â
⢠Sevika would be protective in her own quiet way, always keeping an eye on you without making you feel overwhelmed. Sheâd remind you of your strength, even when you couldnât see it yourself.
⢠âYouâre tougher than whateverâs weighing you down. And Iâll remind you of that every day if I have to.â
Silco
Silco would approach the situation with a calm intensity, his protective instincts kicking in immediately.
⢠Heâd carefully bring it up when you seemed open to talking, his voice low but steady. âIâve seen the marks. Let me help you.â
⢠When you open up, heâd listen without interruption, his expression serious but full of quiet care. âThe weight you carry is yours, but you donât have to carry it alone. You are far more than this pain.â
⢠Silco would offer practical help, ensuring you have resources or someone to talk to. Heâd remind you of your worth with every gesture and word, showing you that he sees you as more than your struggles.
Vander
Vander would be heartbroken when he finds out, but heâd immediately focus on making you feel safe and supported.
⢠Heâd sit you down somewhere quiet, his voice soft but firm. âHey, Iâve noticed some things that worry me. Can we talk?â
⢠When you open up, heâd pull you into a warm, protective hug, whispering, âYou donât have to go through this alone. Iâm here, no matter what.â
⢠Vander would be the type to check in regularly, always making sure you feel loved and valued. Heâd remind you of all the reasons he admires you, even on days when you struggle to see them yourself.
Ekko
Ekko would be hit hard when he finds out, but heâd channel his feelings into being the best support system he could be.
⢠Heâd approach you gently, finding the right moment to say, âHey, I noticed some stuff, and I just wanna make sure youâre okay. You know you can tell me anything, right?â
⢠When you open up, heâd nod, taking it all in with quiet understanding. âThanks for trusting me. I know itâs not easy.â
⢠Ekko would find little ways to lift you upâwhether itâs spending time with you, leaving you encouraging notes, or reminding you of all the things he loves about you.
⢠âYouâve got me, okay? Weâre in this together.â
Jayce
Jayce would be deeply concerned but determined to be there for you in every way possible.
⢠Heâd sit you down gently and say, âIâve noticed something⌠and I just want to make sure youâre alright. Can we talk about it?â
⢠When you open up, heâd listen carefully, his hands holding yours tightly. âYouâre not alone in this. Iâm here, and Iâll do whatever it takes to help you.â
⢠Jayce would be all about finding solutions, whether thatâs helping you access resources, supporting you in your healing, or just being a steady presence in your life.
Viktor
Viktor would be quietly devastated when he finds out, but his empathy would shine through.
⢠Heâd bring it up carefully, his voice soft but full of concern. âIâve noticed some things, and⌠I just want to make sure youâre alright. Can you talk to me?â
⢠When you open up, heâd listen with his full attention, nodding as he processes everything. âThank you for telling me. I know itâs not easy.â
⢠Viktor would find thoughtful ways to support you, whether itâs leaving you encouraging words, sharing quiet moments with you, or reminding you that he sees you as more than your pain.
Caitlyn
Caitlyn would approach the situation with grace and quiet strength.
⢠Sheâd gently sit you down and say, âIâve noticed some things that worry me. You donât have to talk about it if youâre not ready, but Iâm here.â
⢠When you open up, sheâd take your hand and say softly, âYouâre so important to me, and I want to help in any way I can. Youâre not alone.â
⢠Caitlyn would make sure you feel supported without overwhelming you, always reminding you of how much she admires and cares for you.
Mel Medarda
Mel would be deeply empathetic and immediately focused on supporting you in a way that feels meaningful.
⢠Sheâd approach you gently but directly, saying, âIâve noticed something⌠and I want to help. Can we talk?â
⢠When you open up, sheâd listen carefully, her expression soft but serious. âYou are worth every bit of effort and care, and Iâll remind you of that as often as you need.â
⢠Mel would be the type to help you find resources or create a support system, always making sure you know youâre loved and valued.
Ambessa Medarda
Ambessa would approach the situation with quiet strength and determination.
⢠Sheâd bring it up directly but with care, saying, âYouâve been carrying this alone for too long. Let me help.â
⢠When you open up, sheâd nod seriously and say, âYou are stronger than this pain, and Iâll stand by you every step of the way.â
⢠Ambessa would be fiercely protective, always reminding you of your worth and showing you that youâre never alone in this battle.
Maddie Nolen
Maddie would be soft and empathetic, immediately focusing on making you feel safe.

One thing I will say about this season is that it really emphasized just how much Silco and his actions contributed to Jinx's issues and how much his presence affected her negatively going forward.
Most of all, though, I think it proved once for all that Vander and Powder had a special bond where he deeply cared for her and genuinely saw her as his own. Especially in season 1, I think a lot of the fandom latched onto this idea that his relationship with Powder was much more shallow than the one with Vi and as a consequence, she connected with Silco so strongly. But just because Vi and Vander were close and he acted as her mentor in many ways doesn't mean he didn't care about the others and didn't have his own connection with Powder. Just because we didn't see it doesn't mean he was neglectful or cared about her any less. He and Vi had a special bond, yes, but that's because they are similar. I also think that in some ways, he saw himself in Vi, just like Silco saw himself in Jinx. He wasn't a perfect father, he wasn't without flaws, but it's clear he did everything in his power to keep his kids safe and ensure a peaceful future for them.
Through their interactions this season and that alternate universum jumping, we found out that they both deeply cared about each other and Vander fully accepted Powder as his daughter. He clearly loved her a lot and she also saw him as a father figure in her life.
Moreover, even though alternate universe Powder also dealt with grief, this time over using Vi, it's clear that Vander was able to give her the support she needed. She didn't turn violent, she didn't struggle with constant hallucinations. She grew up to be smart, resourceful and compassionate. She grew up to be a healthier, stronger version of herself. Someone who's loved, appreciated and has her own place in the world. And all that even after facing the enormous loss that Vi's death must have been.
It speaks volumes about how much Silco projected his own trauma onto her and prevented her from ever realizing her full potential. I don't think he did it intentionally, I don't think he doomed her to be like this as a choice... He certainly loved her and in his own way wanted what's best for her.
But regardless of his intentions, that's still what happened.
Hurt people hurt people.
That's one thing that Arcane made blatantly clear.

Being mostly only part of the jayvik fandom (and partly caitvi) means I get to bask in their undeniable romantic relationship (ofc you can also see it as platonic, just don't insist that it's the only way to look at it) while others fight over how Silco and Vander's relationship is as brothers and they can't be shipped and whether Jinx and Ekko are straight or bi or whatever.
#I just don't get why some people are arguing instead of enjoying the good things and crying over the sad things like we are#jayvik is without a doubt a romantic relationship to me#but that doesn't mean you can't see it as platonic#just don't go arguing in jayvik posts and insist that they should not be romantic#same goes with vander and silco#if you see them as brothers that's your choice but don't shame those who ship them#and jinx and ekko's sexuality as far as I know is unknown so people can speculate however they want#(what a relief that at least no one can deny caitvi)#arcane#arcane season 2#jayvik#jayce talis#jayce arcane#viktor#viktor arcane#caitvi#caitlyn kiramman#vi arcane#vi#zaundads#vanco#vander x silco#vander arcane#arcane silco#timebomb#jinx#jinx arcane#ekko#ekko arcane#let people ship what they want

Something that has really bugged me about season two is Jinx's hallucinations and PTSD. It magically disappears when Silco dies, save for two scenes. I remember when people on reddit were literally making jokes about the writers going this route because it would be so stupid.
One of the things I loved about season one was the realistic depictions of mental illness that you just don't see often in media. I don't know what it is like to experience schizophrenia, but I have experienced PTSD and paranoia, and seeing how it was represented in Arcane was actually one of the things that helped me through it.
And then season 2 comes around and they just completely neglect this side of Jinx.
PTSD isn't a switch that can magically be flipped off. Recovery is a slow and gradual process. In absolutely no world would Jinx killing yet another family member cure her of her conditions, it would make them 10 times worse. Not to mention just before killing him she has an extremely severe psychotic episode, which would only make forgetting her trauma even more difficult since it was just brought up fresh in her mind.
And what even about the end of s1 was it that healed her? I genuinely have no idea, because she finally chooses Jinx only to once again go back and forth between Jinx and Powder in season two, because apparently all that buildup for her final decision was for nothing.
She does experience two hallucinations (I'm not going to count the jail silco thing in act three because what even was that?) when she sees enforcer Vi and when Sevika talks about the attack at Vander's statue, but suddenly that is all that triggers her?
In season one, just seeing Vi, or even someone who looks like Vi triggers her. But now when Vi is literally trying to capture and possibly kill her she is fine, it's only the mask that bothers her? Wasn't that her worst fear, that Silco and Sevika were right, that Vi only wanted to stop her? And she is constantly triggered by Cait in season 1 but not 2?
And then there was the insulting ending, where jail Silco tells Jinx to 'break the cycle' (something he would absolutely never do) and Jinx finally finds redemption by literally killing herself after Isha kills herself in what is framed as an act of heroism (and if Jinx actually didnt, than what even was the point of that scene?) What happened to Ekko trying to stop Jinx from doing that? What happened to Silco having Singed revive her to save her life after she attempts to take it? Or Jayce and Viktor talking each other out of it? Or Silco choosing to keep fighting rather than give into the "peace in water"?
On purpose or not season 2 frames suicide as a glorious, edgy, perhaps even necessary thing and it's disgusting.

yeah! yeah!! [fervent nodding in <>ship enthusiasm]
absolutely no shade to the people who are having a great time writing jayvik fucking and all that, love that for yall, but I just - so Arcane does a really lovely job showing off a bunch of different kinds of close loving relationships, romances and friendships and families and partnerships, right -
and you can see very clearly and intentionally that the thing Jayce and Viktor are and have is not framed quite as like-siblings (compare Silco & Vander, Vi & Jinx), or like-friends (compare Cait & Jayce, Vi & Ekko, Vander & Felicia), or like-sex-and-romance (compare Vi & Cait, Ekko & Powder, Jayce & Mel). it's a not so secret fourth thing, and it's treated by the narrative as just as important, just as valuable, just as worthy of being the central most important relationship in a person's life. I love that a lot.
I'm sorry I know most people will wish they kissed or interpret their relationship as romantic (as is fandom nature) but I'm feeling sososo emotional about queerplatonic Jayvik. They're partners, with a shared vision of the world, who's destinies are literally intertwined on a cosmic level. It just makes so much sense.
And aroace Victor also makes so much sense. In season one, we had the classic scene play out where your best friend stops noticing you cause they got involved in a romantic relationship. Not to mention the allusions to being cold and machine like in season two. How can you be human if you don't love like that? But what breaks him out is not a kiss, but rather a declaration that Jayce still wants him, still wants his partner by his side, imperfections and all.
I don't care how people interpret their love, as long no one implies it's somehow less than, cause they didn't kiss :')

Dirt Under Your Nails
My friends, "I'm the dirt under your nails" is not Vi saying she is in any way less than or a nuisance to Caitlyn. It's the same as Jinx's "I'm always with ya, sis." It's "one flesh, one end," if you will. Vi is saying that she is tied to Cait in a way that can never be severed, no matter what has or will come between them. They have impacted each other in ways that can never be scraped or washed away, just like every other tragically intertwined relationship we see in the show. It's Jinx/Powder and Vi orienting their entire lives around their connection to the other, even when they haven't seen each other in years, even if they think the other is dead. It's Vander working for a better world for Felicia's children even after she's gone, or Silco styling Jinx's hair the same way as her mother's. It's Mel loving and hating and becoming her mother even as she is finding her own path away from her. It's Jayce being most motivated to advance Hextech for Victor's sake and then destroying it with him, to save him again. It's Ekko painting a mural of Powder thinking she's gone forever, only to leave an alternate version of her because he needs to save her as Jinx, too. It's Jinx decorating her space with mementos of everyone she's ever loved and is haunted by. It's Warwick/Vander recognizing his daughters again and again. It's a record spinning around and around with the faces of two people who will always be part of the same song. "You can't take loved away."
Arcane is a show about many things, and one of them is the beauty and horrors of love, whether it's in found family or blood family or romance. Vi is acknowledging this indelible tether to Caitlin, and also declaring that she is going to be intentional about it. They have both lost so much, even each other, in the past. Vi is essentially promising that she is always going to stay.
#arcane#caitvi#tamsyn muir#dirt under your nails#Arcane fans this is also my way of recommending The Locked Tomb to you#They have something fundamentally in common and it's not just the lesbians#or the pain and suffering#Also#Vi is a silly goose#so she probably isn't reading as much into this line as we are

my head's a bit clearer, some thoughts about act 3
-my biggest gripe is episode 7- cool idea, love the concept of peaking into a different universe and seeing what our characters couldve been under different circumstances, but a WHOLE episode. when you only had 9 episode in this season, that already feel like theyre moving at a neck's pace. for a universe that ultimately doesn't matter to the main universe where the story takes place. the fact it had timebomb made it feel extremely fan service-y.
-no emotional resolution to a lot of characters. viktor and jayce are the only ones i can think of that felt like they got the screen time and care for an actual emotional closure.
-isha wasn't even mentioned in this act. in general she was already a martyr for jinx's character development but guys can you make it less obvious.
-it started in act 2, hence why i was so jaded on it, but it continues here: just where the fuck the political drama between 2 cities go? the conflict between zaun and piltover took a back seat since episode 4 and never came back. the resolution to it isn't bad per say, but when u got so little focus on it in the finale it just feels rushed.
-i loved the cait and jinx scene. but like, that was the resolution to it??? after act 1 thinking about it disappoints me. im not against a conversation being the climax to a story, but that is, and im not joking, the ONLY conversation these 2 have in the show one on one. in general the jinx\cait\vi arc ends with 1 conversation per duo (well caitvi got one fight and one very steamy sex scene but u won't catch me complaining). and after act 1, idk i think i wanted just a little bit more. im biased though- the jinx\vi\caitlyn dynamic is my favorite part about arcane. the teasers for s2 always had them front and center so i assumed it'll play a bigger part in the story???
-i felt like what the show was at its core, which is the conflict between the sisters and the cities, was completely sidelined this season. in general i can't really tell what the main theme of the show is anymore. but yeah look at the resolution to the jinx and vi story.did it feel like it had the emotional impact u expected? cause i felt like it was underwhelming.
-sevika?? didnt speak since episode 4???? huhh???
-maddie was pointless. why was she there?? i don't understand the point of that character. i dont understand her motives. she ended up not mattering at all to caitvi's story. the only thing i got from her inclusion is "caitlyn fucks" but is it that THAT important??? of a character trait??? to add to caitlyn of all people?? in THIS season??? this belongs in the realm of fanfiction.
-a lot here felt like fanfiction actually. every silco inclusion (except of him in the cell with jinx), the whole "nobody dies au" they threw in the middle, even the caitvi sex scene (IM NOT COMPLAINING THO). the caitvi scene at the end was dialog out of fanfiction, wtf was that.
-why did caitlyn lose her eye? im not like against the idea on a base level but losing an eye is very symbolic, and im not sure what its supposed to represent here. caitlyn is an observant person, its a big character trait for her. so youre basically saying she sees less now? that she's more laser focused? i sure hope not. wasnt her whole arc with giving up of revenge about seeing the "bigger picture"? her sacrifice didn't feel in character, because caitlyn is not really a "fight to the death" type of character like ambessa is. if she made that sacrifice for something like love, or for the betterment of other people, that would be more in line. idk, you couldve made me on board with it but im just very meh on it. also caitlyn only really emotes through her eyes, it sucks that we get even less of it now?? though i guess it doesnt matter at this point.
-what was the point of the enforcer that looked like vander?
-ambessa was so wasted in these last 2 acts its crazy. where's the "you have to be the fox and the wolf" mindset from her? she felt like she was wolfing only with no wit anymore by the 3rd act.
-mel????????????? it was. uhhh. maybe you shouldve saved it for another series, riot. but in this show, waste of time. the fight she had with caitlyn against ambessa was cool tho.
-i sound like im a hater but u have to understand. s1 of arcane was a political drama and a character study show. seeing all this discarded for magic and time travel shenanigans on like 4 different fronts was so jarring it took me out of the show multiple times.
-cant believe im saying that, but i wish they'd try to stick closer to the characters' current state in the source material (the cursed game). someof it felt out of left field and done for shock value, which isn't why we love the story or these characters to begin with.
good stuff:
-caitvi sex lmao ill take it babyyyyy
-jayce and viktor's scenes at the end were powerful.
-as usual, the visuals were phenomenal. the animation is gorgeous. fortiche u made this show what it is and youre still its saving grace.
-thank god they dropped the warwick\vander plot
-i liked the implication of the conclusion to jinx's story, even if it felt a little inconsistent with the character.
-the ending to jinx\vi\caitlyn was poetic and i did love it, even if it was rushed and didn't really hit the emotional highs i wanted it to.
#arcane#arcane spoilers#arcane season 2 spoilers#that was a ride#this wont top the original but u can always just watch the first 4 acts and then skip to the caitvi sex#which is what ill be doing probably revisiting this show#ill give this a rewatch and probably wont be so harsh on it after but those are my first impressions

silco's appearances in s2 are sending me. this guy dies but he keeps making appearances and each of them show him as a perfectly adjusted individual who, actually!, isn't murderous and is forgiving, friendly even. as if that man hadn't been the most batshit insane and resentful guy zaun has ever seen. arcane vs arcane if silco went to therapy for real.

So. That was Arcane. As a whole.
Best episode of the season was episode 7. I might be a bit biased thanks to Silco and Vander living it up as their older selves but also, Ekko is truly the mvp of the show.
I hmm. Well. Victor. I see what was going on there. I see the vision. I loved lot of it. I had the sudden realizations of "that's Victor, right" before it happened....dude looked more like Jesus than ever before too. But uhh. Hmm. Hmm. There is like a chapter missing between s1 and s2 with Victor. Or more like mid season 2 chapter. Love my boy still. I did not care for his Machine Herald look. I liked the idea of the face being split. It hmm. I feel like they said, instead of showed, a lot with Victor this season.
My controversial opinion: Isha was unnecessary. The black rose mage stuff was unnecessary. Same end result could've been achieved with other means. Vi was just there to experience things and be sad. Jinx can't have shit and should suffer all the time, I guess.
BUT
Nice
My man was a positive voice for Jinx. Uhhh in a way. Kinda made her go suicidal but like, he was trying. He is always trying. Even after death. Maybe after his hallucination talk people will understand that Silco wasn't just a evil dude with evil things to do, he was as trapped as everyone else in Zaun and wanted to break free.
Tho, I doubt it. The main enemy in Arcane is the class divide. In my eyes.
I do love the exploration of Hextech and how using magic in a technological way can be super dangerous and fuck shit up. I wanted to see that. And I did see that in season 1, when Jayce realizes how dangerous the hextech weapons are! Exploring the time loop and how abstract magic is, was great! I just.
I love this show. Very much. Season 1, no notes. It's made for me.
Season 2 seems like a people pleaser. And I am pleased! Yet I also wanted something different.
I am still happy because I got my vindication. Zaundads is canon, fuck yeah! No man looks at another man like that and is not in love with them!
I loved that they kept that Vander still tried to kill Silco. Silco went "yea ok that ass too good to quit. What is little murder between lovers, anyway. Come here bby"
Only thing. Silco should've interacted with Jinx in the alternative timeline. A simple "you look beautiful" when she has her entrance or "hey here's snack have fun building whatever you guys are building. Don't make too much noise, your father and I need to get up early tomorrow ok bye bye my perfect little genius"
#arcane#arcane spoilers#arcane season 2#arcane season 2 spoilers#i didn't think we'd get that much silco but we got so much

Could you write how Arcane character deal with reader who has angry issue please.
Jinx
Jinx isnât fazed by your angerâit might even amuse her at times. Sheâs not afraid of your outbursts and often meets them with chaotic energy of her own. She might try to make you laugh or redirect your frustration by dragging you into some wild, destructive activity. If youâre seriously upset, sheâll throw out a haphazard âItâs okay to be mad! Blow something up with me, yeah?â Sheâs not great at calming you down but is always in your corner.
Vi
Vi gets itâsheâs got a fiery temper herself. Sheâll try to talk you down, stepping between you and whateverâs setting you off. Her approach is straightforward but compassionate: âAlright, take a deep breath, yeah? Letâs figure this out before someone gets decked.â If youâre lashing out at her, sheâll call you out on it but still give you space to cool off. Later, sheâll help you vent in healthier ways, like sparring or long walks through the Lanes.
Sevika
Sevika doesnât take your anger personally. Sheâll stand there, arms crossed, letting you get it out of your system. Her calm demeanor acts as a grounding force. âYou done yet?â sheâll ask, raising an eyebrow. If your anger is justified, sheâll back you up without hesitation, even offering solutions in her blunt, no-nonsense way. If youâre out of line, sheâll tell you straight up: âFix that attitude before you regret it.â
Silco
Silco has the patience of a saintâat least outwardly. He remains calm and composed while you vent, watching you with calculating eyes. He wonât interrupt until youâre finished, then heâll address your anger with logic, offering solutions or asking pointed questions to make you reflect. If your anger gets in the way of something important, heâll call it out firmly but not cruelly: âControl your emotions, or theyâll control you.â
Vander
Vander is incredibly patient with you. He knows anger can come from pain or frustration, so he focuses on understanding whatâs behind your outburst. He doesnât try to stop you from being angry, but he gently encourages you to talk it out instead of acting impulsively. âCâmon, letâs sit and talk this through,â heâll say, offering you a drink to help you calm down. His steady presence is comforting and helps you feel safe to open up.
Ekko
Ekko respects your emotions and doesnât judge you for getting angry. Heâll stand by you, letting you vent while keeping a watchful eye to ensure you donât hurt yourself or others. âHey, Firebug, whatâs eating you?â heâll ask, his tone light but concerned. If your anger spirals, heâll gently redirect it, suggesting a project or activity to channel your energy. Heâs supportive but will also call you out if your anger causes harm.
Jayce
Jayce tries to diffuse your anger with optimism and reassurance. He listens carefully, even if your outburst catches him off guard. âOkay, I hear you. Letâs figure this out together,â heâll say, his tone earnest. If your anger is directed at him, he may get defensive at first but quickly realizes itâs better to stay calm. Heâs a fixer by nature, so heâll focus on helping you find a solution, though his enthusiasm can sometimes feel overbearing.
Viktor
Viktor approaches your anger with quiet understanding. He doesnât interrupt your venting but observes carefully, trying to piece together whatâs really bothering you. âYour anger is valid, but perhaps we can address it more constructively?â heâll suggest in his calm, measured voice. He offers practical advice or distractions, like involving you in his work, to help you channel your emotions into something productive.
Caitlyn
Caitlyn remains composed and attentive, even when your anger is intense. She listens without interrupting and validates your feelings. âI understand why youâre upset,â sheâll say, her tone gentle but firm. She encourages you to take a step back and breathe, sometimes suggesting a walk or a quiet place to talk things through. If your anger becomes destructive, sheâll intervene with a steady hand, reminding you of your strength and resilience.
Mel Medarda
Mel handles your anger with grace and patience. Sheâs not rattled by your outbursts and instead approaches them with empathy and insight. âWhat has you so worked up, darling?â sheâll ask, her tone soothing. She helps you see the bigger picture, offering advice or solutions that align with your goals. Her refined demeanor acts as a grounding presence, reminding you to channel your energy into something meaningful.
Ambessa Medarda
Ambessa meets your anger with strength and authority. She doesnât coddle you but respects your emotions, seeing them as a sign of passion and drive. âGood. Anger is a weaponâlearn to wield it wisely,â sheâll say. If your anger gets out of hand, sheâll pull you back with a firm hand and sharp words. Despite her tough exterior, she admires your fire and encourages you to use it constructively.
Maddie Nolen

There's a whole bunch of things I gotta say Abt act 3 that I don't have time to, but my god the SYMBOLISM, so I'm just gonna do the couple of obvious ones that stuck out to me.
Spoiler warning ofc.
In ep7 when jayce was in the pit, he broke his leg and used the design for viktors leg brace (which he knew well enough to recreate, the two likely worked on it together in the past which I love) and then painstakingly climbs out. He's in the undercity at the time.
The whole sequence, due to him wearing the leg brace, is very unsubtly a parallel to Viktors journey of metaphorically crawling his way up out of Zaun and into Piltover. Which is to be assumed as his backstory before meeting Jayce, and was probably still something he felt like he was doing his whole life.
(Also hallucinating both Mel and Viktor in the same place is very bisexual behavior Jayce. and adds to the parallels between Mel and Viktor, they're both mages that go through physical transformation this season, and whole bunch of other scene parallels)
In ep 9, during their little gay transcendence scene he basically tells Viktor he's perfect, that he admired everything about him and that his leg and his illness were never flaws etc. Last season also ended with Silco telling Jinx she's perfect.
Which I think its neat we got that happening at the end of both seasons, in a show where identity is so important, (and toward two of the main physically and mentally disabled characters specifically). Personally I loved Jayce including Viktors leg as being a part of him and therefore something he loved as well, that he never needed to feel ashamed about
Again in ep 9 at the end, when Vi is holding Jinx and Warwick over the ledge. This kinda parallels s1 act 1. (With the obvious first scene of teen and tween Vi and powder on the roof in piltover, where Powder falls but Vi is there to pull her back up)
Vi wanting to save Vander, Jinx trying to save Vi when that goes wrong. Now Jinx is hanging there with the literal weight of her dead family weighing her down, as Vi holds onto her trying to pull her up, despite the baggage being to heavy but being unable to let go. Vander so well representing the guilt and trauma she carries with her.
In the end she knows she'll pull Vi down with her too, so she forces her to let go. By stealing the hex crystal, which is what started this whole mess, but is such a jinx moment of quick thinking.
God I bawled at the end there I kept thinking they've gotta have another scene that shows maybe she didn't die, or Ekko came to save her again, but no.
I'd go into more detail cause there's just SO much about this season but I've gotta go and I'm sure someone else will cover everything. The show was just phenomenal.
